Well, hey! Remember in September 2017 how we discussed disruptive Uranus entering the environmental preservationist-conservationist sign of Taurus in mid-May 2018? Then in April 2018 we talked about the transit of shocking Uranus through Fixed (rigid) Venus-ruled Taurus as Nature's Revolution. And we added to the post the appropriate Sabian Symbols for a couple of degrees.

We Don't Work For The Government, The Government Works For Us

Years ago, the US Government actually performed its duty and worked for the people.
Franklin D. Roosevelt is the reason for programs like Social Security.
Dwight Eisenhower is the reason for our highway system, allowing us to travel longer distances in a shorter amount of time.
Lyndon Johnson is the reason for Medicare, Medicaid, and the Food Stamp Program.
Even Richard Nixon, who is most known for the Watergate Scandal, is the reason for Supplemental Security Income, better known as SSI, and for the EPA.
Yes, upon a time Government actually worked for the people (the Democrats were becoming the left wing party, while the Republican party was more moderate). When did it go wrong?
In 1981, Ronald Reagan signed the Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981, lowering the top income tax rate from 70% to 50%, and then in 1986 signed the Tax Reform Act Of 1986, which lowered the top rate from 50% to 38.5%. After these tax cuts, the economy entered a recession in the late 80s and didn't recover until the time Clinton entered office. Reagan is also known for the Iran Contra Scandal, which involved the sale of weapons to Iran.
Bill Clinton, despite presiding over a strong economy throughout this two terms in office, signed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act in 1996, which significantly reduced welfare benefits. He also repealed the Glass Steagall Act in 1999, which lifted strong regulations on the banks that were implemented by Franklin D. Roosevelt. The repeal played a big role in the Great Recession that took place in 2008-2011.
George W. Bush is well known for his two sets of tax cuts in 2001 and 2003, both of which heavily benefited the wealthy, and also played a major role in the 2008 recession, as he refused to raise taxes while two wars were going on. He also signed the Patriot Act into law, suspiciously shortly after 9/11, rightly making people wonder if it was a planned attack for the purpose of suppressing freedom of speech by labeling violators as "terrorists".
Barack Obama is well known for Obamacare, which is a federal mandate to purchase health care, and likely a ponzi scheme to make health care providers richer, as premiums increased under this law.
And Donald Trump recently signed a huge tax cut for the wealthy into law, while taxes will go up for everybody else in 2025.
All of this, in the name of making their donors richer at the expense of the "little people".
How To Fix This
Simple. Get the money out of politics! If it was made illegal for corporations to bribe politicians, politicians wouldn't feel the need to make the rich richer, and have more freedom to govern according to the political indicators in their astrology charts. In Obama and Clinton's charts, the left wing economic and cultural indicators are very strong, so it's very likely that if they didn't have to be owned by multi million dollar corporations in order to get elected, they would have run the country in a much more progressive manner, similar to the likes of Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson. As long as big money is involved in politics, the rich will continue to get richer at the expense of the poor.
Pluto in Capricorn
Pluto has been in the sign of Capricorn since 2008, and will be there until shortly after the 2024 election. It is no coincidence that the Great Recession started when Pluto first went into Capricorn, and that the issues regarding money in politics have been at the forefront throughout this transit. The Mueller Investigation, with Trump, Kushner, and many other Republicans being investigated for collusion with Russia, as well as money laundering, is likely a precursor to future laws prohibiting big money from influencing elections. With Pluto, the transformer, in Capricorn, the sign of government and big business, laws making the bribery of politicians illegal will be inevitable.
And these oligarchs know this, which is why the US Government is growing more and more authoritarian every year, in an attempt to slow down these changes, before Pluto enters the humanitarian sign of Aquarius for good in 2024. However, nobody beats astrology in the end, and it's foolish to believe that you can.
Eventually, the government will once again serve its original role, to work in the best interests of its citizens, keep us safe, and ensure us a good quality of life, but that won't happen until the oligarchy that has been in place for close to 40 years collapses.
Thanks Kevin! Perhaps the upcoming August 2018 Solar Eclipse--'The Tower Eclipse' with its theme of existing structures collapsing--will spark such a collapse of oligarchy in the US! After all, the US government was and is meant to be afraid of We the People--not the other way around. jc
Among other things, astrological Neptune rules mystery, secrets, chemicals, toxins, poisons, water and other liquids. Now during Neptune's slow float through its own secretive, oceanic sign of Pisces the news is full of references to Neptunian conditions and Neptunian mysteries--such as secret fracking formulas that oil companies use to force oil into their maws while poisoning the environment, plundering natural resources, and harming the people of the United States.

Although I'd forgotten this post from 2010, tonight I ran across it and rediscovered that The Clean Air Act became law under the auspices of the 1 North Solar Eclipse Saros Series and if you were around back then you know how badly our air and the rest of the environment needed cleaning and protecting. And still does. But the Trump administration means to change all that.
Perhaps I'm over-fretting here but the next 1 North Solar Eclipse is being called The Great American Eclipse since it will be visible across the country from Oregon to South Carolina on August 21, 2017 @29Leo. It's such a rare and prominent cosmic event for our nation that no one knows what--or just what--to expect, plus, eclipses act as 'wild cards' of the Universe for they are unpredictably disruptive by nature in similar fashion to astrological Uranus.
Recently in a post I linked the August eclipse's 'Great'ness with Mr. Trump and his propagandistic slogan from the past, Make America Great Again, which some say is really Make America Sick Again...but whatever you do (think some), Make America White Again.
I know not but I do know that 1 North relates on one level to the establishment of the Clean Air Act and now in 2017 the Republicans and their financial enablers have the complete plundering of US resources visibly within their sights and are extremely anxious to pull the trigger.

When Michigan Governor Rick Snyder appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe this morning he again attempted to deflect blame for the crisis by spreading it around which seemed to be his primary aim but I for one was not persuaded by his weasely performance. The EPA will investigate the catastrophe in Flint but if the feds whitewash the situation as far as culpability, it will be as chaff in the wind. Any other bankrupt city or town in America is subject to such money-based decisions by "emergency managers" that can kill and maim their citizens.

Under toxic threat, the Navaho Nation has taken emergency action against the August 5, 2015 accidental release of heavy metal sludge as the Gold King Mine near Silverton, Colorado as it was being 'cleaned up' by the EPA--or, apparently, by contractors hired by the EPA. Perhaps we can thank the movement to privatize government agencies for that.
The King Gold Mine toxic catastrophe will create havoc for several years as the mustard yellow plume flows south toward the Grand Canyon and beyond. Astrologically the toxic release may be identified in part by the 20-year Jupiter-Saturn cycle. When Richard Nixon created the Environmental Protection Agency by Executive Order 1102 and the EPA began operating on December 2, 1970, Jupiter (expansion, breaking through boundaries) and Saturn (restriction, also the Earth, boundaries, and soil) had conjoined last on February 19, 1961 @25Cap12--Capricorn, an Earth sign ruled by Saturn, planet of government, law, and business.
So by December 2, 1970, the two societal planets with their checks and balances Yin-Yang qualities were in process of an off-again-on-again phase of opposition with Jupiter @21Scorpio and Saturn @17Taurus, another Earth sign of Environmentalism, conservation, and preservation.
As for the August 5, 2015 toxic spill, Jupiter and Saturn are in process of a square phase issuing from their Great Conjunction of May 28, 2000 @23Taurus and there's that environmentally aware Taurus again. Squares are aspects of blockage and obstacles but unfortunately, the blockage of soil was removed. Yet another aspect operative on August 5th is Mars in late Cancer squaring its position in 1970 (late Libra) which indicates males (Mars) acting impulsively and with a caution to beware large mechanical equipment--which is what workers were up to as they failed to realize the consequences of their machinery disturbing loose soil which released a heavy metal brew of arsenic, lead, copper, zinc, and more from the King Gold Mine clean-up site.
And with karmic Saturn again to transit the early degrees of Sagittarius, we may consider its conjunction with 1970 Neptune @00Sag58, the grim reality transit when it's easy to misinterpret what one is supposed to be responsible for and there is failure to fully comprehend the reality of a situation which describes the initial reaction of the EPA as the amount of toxins released was underestimated to area residents and the public (as is typical in such disasters).
Then like a computer program running underneath it all, we feel the effects of the planet of toxins, poisons, contamination, and water, Neptune, floating through its own sign of Pisces, sign of fish, bodies of water, and lack of clarity--and the EPA not letting out the news of the catastrophe to area residents until Thursday (Aug 6), a full day after the disastrous event.
You may wish to read President Nixon's message to Congress dated July 9, 1970: Reorganization Plan No. 3 which includes information on the protective mission of the EPA. But if it seems odd that a Republican president would create a regulatory agency like the EPA (which was actually a glopping together of agencies) try Myth: Nixon Created the EPA to Help the Environment which seems more in character with the Richard Nixon who played president when yours truly was a resident of Washington DC.
