Here you see the horoscope of the Private Oath-Taking on Sunday January 20, 2013 noon est Capitol Building Washington DC, made necessary by the inauguration date falling on a Sunday. This circumstance rarely occurs for US Inaugurations but did for Presidents Monroe and Reagan, and now for Barack Obama. Chart-ruler Venus; Hour of Mercury (planet of oaths) with Mercury @2AQ21 directly opposing the president's natal Mercury in Leo--more closely than in 2009 with this transit's potential for conflicting opinions, disagreements, and 'cat herding'. Though in the case of Mr. Obama, make that right-wing 'elephant herding' of the nutzoid kind.

Moon (We the People) in Taurus (comfort mode, greed, intolerance) with the presidential Sun @00AQ48 nearing Midheaven as usual (MC = the Goal); hemispheric emphasis is the same in both charts (7/3) and the South Node of the Moon (SN) rises indicating separation, restrictions, and loss--not a good portent in a Horary chart. Of course this may describe the staff and cabinet members who are leaving the Obama administration and being replaced, plus, the 'bad timing' circumstance of the inauguration falling on a Sunday. Past behaviors and old matters tally with the fact that this inaguraiton marks the continuing of the Obama administration rather than a completely new start.

Yet as you see, Moon and Jupiter Rx are rising in 1st house and we look ahead to the Jupiter Direct Station of January 30, 2013 @6Gem19 after which financial matters may begin to move forward--at least by June when Jupiter passes his Rx shadow degree. Jupiter rules the 8th house of Debt, Credit, Insurance, Corporations, Transformation, etc, and as usual, America's natal Ascendant is upon the Inaugurual 8th cusp which always makes 8th H matters of primary concern for any administration.

Another area of Jupiterian concern is the house with Pisces on its cusp. In US inauguration charts that would be the karmic 12th H of the Unconscious, Large Institutions, Self-Undoing, and Politics. This year radical Uranus @5Ari13 is posited in the 12th H so apparently secrets plans are being made for more disruption of the president's agenda. Uranus at '6Ari' = A Square Brightly Lighted on One Side" which I believe refers mainly to the ongoing and restless Cardinal Square between electric Uranus and intense Pluto.

And with US natal placements penned around the outside of the January 20th chart, you see that America's Chiron is there as well. Its '21Ari' = "A Pugilist Entering the Ring" and the symbol's negative expression tells much about the current extremists bullying their way through Congress along with America's obsession for conquest: blind rebellion and a willingness to squander every resource on pseudo values. Government shutdown, anyone? Let's hope cooler heads prevail over that Very Bad Idea:

which has recently met with powerful, wealthy Pluto @9Cap53 on January 16th so the Sabian Symbol for '10Cap' may be notable as the president enters his 2nd term: "An Albatross Feeding from the Hand of a Sailor" with its negative expression: overconcern with side issues. (Jones.)

January 16th marked a new one-year cycle of Venus-Pluto energies which when combined indicate potentials for:

'Thesis: extremes of private wealth hidden in secret places; transforming the natural beauty of a country; genetic alterations; model waste processing or disposal systems'.

'Antithesis: deep volcanic activity causes destruction of agricultural activities or financial centers; attracting elements of organized crime' (DC politicians accomplished that years ago! jc); 'a breakdown in the fabric of society'. (Munkasey's Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets.

Speaking of Jupiterian 'financial centers', planet Jupiter's Direct Station of January 30, 2013 is of significance for you see here Inauguration 2013 Jupiter Rx in 1st house. Once Jupiter passes its shadow degree at which Mr. Moneybags turned Rx, financial matters should be moving forward as well as the anarchists in Congress will allow. Perhaps a direct Jupiter won't give them as many opportunities to obstruct legislation that might actually improve the US economy and increase the investments which Jupiter's natural disposition prefers to make.

(Note: in the horoscope of Jupiter's Direct Station on 1/30/13, US natal Pluto in Capricorn rises in Washington DC so Pentagon adventurism and/or its budget may be in some way 'rising'. Since chart-ruler Venus makes no applying Ptolemaic (major) aspects to any planet in this horoscope we can't use the 'how things will proceed' method though there is a semi-square to Neptune (0A59) and a trine to the ASC 15Tau28 (0A14.) This makes the condition of Venus discussed above more important for the entire 4 years of the second term of President Barack Obama. My suspicion is that the jealousy and envy contained within the Venus-Pluto pair will manifest even more viciously than in his first term--and any horoscope with SN rising always has difficulties ahead, including such Saturnian themes as separation. Supporting this theme is dissolving Neptune in the house of Groups and Associations with wounded-wounding Chiron still nearby.

Yet We The People Are Happy as Washington Celebrates!

With Inugural Moon in 1st house nearing happy Jupiter (he'll be cheerier once he enters Moon-ruled Cancer), the mood of the people is certainly lighter than on Inauguration Day 2009 when Luna was at a critical-crisis 29th degree in moody Scorpio. Our mood is described as well by the applying trine between Moon (the people; the public; women) and Sun (the leader; the president), both at karmic 'one degrees' and indicating harmony, refinement, and growth of enterprises. Plus, the Moon rules both the 2nd H of the National Treasury, Values, and Earning Ability, and the 4th H of Domestic Scene, Security, and...Real Estate!

Now if we can only get contentious Mars @21AQ00 in 10th H of Career and Public Status to quit bailing water into the US eceonomy's still-leaky boat we may see more investments in America and thus in the future during the second term of Barack Obama.

As of this writing, the exact time of President Obama's public Oath-taking on Monday is not forthcoming so 'noon' is used here as a method of Traditional Astrology to use the time of the best representative of the event, and/or as a symbolic chart if noon turns out to be a few minutes off. The Sunday (Jan 20) chart is the actual 2nd term chart.

Chart-Note: you easily spied that 12th H Uranus in Mars-ruled Aries (radicals, 'Utopians' and anarchists, says Ebertin.) That more behind-the-scenes disruptions are being planned is pretty much a given with the re-election of this president. And staid, status quo, end-bringer Saturn @10Sco50 ('11Sco' = "A Drowning Man Rescued") probably relates to the US military (6th H) and the withdrawal of US troops from sacred sands. I hope!

Neptune in Pisces floats up mysterious drownings as Romney is booed in all the right places

Speaking of mystical Neptune now traversing its own oceanic sign of Pisces, on July 9, History Today published an article by *Christopher Winn on concerning Mysterious Drownings which spotlights the 190th anniversary of the drowning off the coast of Italy (July 8, 1822) of romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley.

Shelley, born August 4, 1792 @10:00 pm in Horsham, England, died age 29 which to astrologers denotes his leaving the earthly plane at his Saturn Return. Some have thought he may have committed suicide or that his boat was a victim of a pirate attack yet it seems certain that a squall at sea did hit and upturned the boat. In any case, he'd left (temporarily) wife Mary after yet another loss of child which smacks of running away from responsibilities, something which taskmaster Saturn does not appreciate. Honestly addressing one's responsibilities is a basic theme during times when Saturn returns to 'his' natal position.

Interestingly, Shelley's Saturn Return of May 9, 1822 shows sea-ruler Neptune Rx @ 5Cap00..."Indians Rowing a Canoe and Dancing a War Dance." (Jones.) Were the "Indians" Shelley and friend rowing what would soon be a capsized boat, or pirates on the attack? Who can say yet it's a tantalyzing picture to consider. Plus, in his Return chart, Neptune conjoined the planet of sudden events, Uranus Rx @7Cap05. '8Cap' = "Birds in the House Singing Happily" which may indicate the rebel was in a good mood before Neptunian tragedy struck by whatever means. And Shelley's death (Pluto) was ultimately a World Event with Pluto @00Ari28 (Aries Point) and rising in his 1822 Saturn Return chart.

As you know, Mary Shelley authored Frankenstein or, The Modern Prometheus, as Uranian a title and story arc as you'll ever find in literature--'sky god' Uranus is often referred to as, The Awakener, perfect for the cobbled-together Monster and the catalyst for life, electricity, all provinces of Uranus.

Both Mary and Percy were born with Sun-Uranus conjunctions, his in dramatic Leo, hers in book-writing Virgo which relates to their unorthodox alliance which broke societal boundaries by an elopement against her father's wishes (yet William Godwin continued to borrow money from Percy!) And with their Jupiters (how one relates) placed in opposite signs--his in Libra, hers in Aries across the Relationship axis--theirs was a romance 'written in the stars' as they say. Perhaps with his Sun-Uranus conjunction near his natal Venus in Leo added to her natal Mars in bookish Virgo near her Sun-Uranus, their willfulness in love (Mars-Venus) simply would not be denied.

Desperate Republicans and Wasteful Votes

Regular readers may note that up until now, this post contained no mention of Politics, arrogant politicians, or of the time and money wasting efforts yesterday of the Republican Party as they voted in the House of Representatives to repeal the Affordable Health Care Act of 2010 which was upheld as constitutional by SCOTUS on June 28, 2012. The GOP's 31st performance of Capitol Hill Political Theater shows our tax dollars not at work on behalf of the American people and I refuse to type much more about their sham for the moment as the jackassian politicians of Washington--including turncoat Democrats--continue undermining our national government (and state governments, for that matter) while making idiotic fools of themselves for the sake of the dumbleheaded, anti-social, anti-American ideology by which they hope to re-take the White House.

Yes, I must agree that current GOP ploys defy all reason and the only plan they seem to me to have is to cheat in November 2012 and play dirty tricks (such as Mitt Romney speaking to the NAACP yesterday so he could be booed to impress his 'base'--how simplistic and transparent!) All very Neptunian of them with the Party's natal Neptune @15Pis53 Rx in n 3rd house of Communications, and Neptune sextiles Uranus in stubborn Taurus (15:48) which forms a YOD (crisis pattern) with US natal Saturn 14Lib48...Uranus-Neptune = Saturn has potentials for: a clash among ambitions and projects; need for recognition; changes of direction; staying put causes depression and loss of confidence (Tyl.)

Additionally, the Republican Party's current progressed Ascendant @29Gem50, a critical-crisis 29th degree, shows a sense of desperation, and the Party's progressed Mercury @29Sco39 (voting; ideas; plans) is @29Sco39..."30Sco" = "The Halloween Jester" which may indicate an October Surprise on the GOP menu which is meant to sway the American people away from President Obama and toward the GOP's daft austerity measures. After all, Inauguration 2009's Moon (The People; the masses) remains at @29Sco45 until Inauguration 2013 rolls around when The People's Inaugural Moon will be posited in the much lighter sign of Gemini at noon--almost four hours from Mr. Obama's Lunar Return (back to the White House?) which occurs at 3:54 pm est on Monday, January 21, 2013.

The natal chart I use for the Republican Party: July 6, 1854 @5:00 pm LMT Jackson, MI, which shows natal Sun conjunct US natal Sun; plus, the Democratic Party's Moon in Aquarius conjoins US natal Moon....our Papa and Momma? Arghh! No wonder the two parties can't get along and are able to constantly and easily divide and conquer the American people's loyalties with the strain between Sun inconjunct Moon which is an echo from America's natal chart and psyche of July 4, 1776!

Will Palin prez run 2012 bring Obama's 2nd term?

Woot! As my friend American Patriot notes, if Sarah Palin runs for president in 2012, a second Obama term may be guaranteed.

Me? Not as certain because a lot can happen between now and 2012/13 including Palin's loss (or increase) of political influence. And even with Moon 1Gem26 (we-the-people) in 1st house with Jupiter 6Gem27 Rx, the Inauguration Horoscope of January 21, 2013 isn't telling much about presidential gender but it does, however, occur under the rays of the 15 North Solar Eclipse of November 13, 2012 @ 22 Scorpio, a degree with the Sabian Symbol: "Hunters Shooting Wild Ducks."

A "cultural ritual" like a presidential inauguration? Quack!

Well, Jan 21, 2013's 1st house Inaugural Moon in early Gemini is just before completing a Lunar Return (3:21) for President Obama, and Jupiter's position shows that the Jolly One will have recently conjoined Mr. Obama's natal Moon, a time of grand desires, emotional satisfaction, and popularity - yes, popularity!

The 15N Series has a flavor of 'joy through commitment' (Brady's Predictive Astrology) so apparently whomever is victorious in the 2012 US presidential election will feel quite happy about it.

Yet a caution is that South Node 23Tau is in 1st house and rising, not an auspicious indicator and showing separations of some kind and reliance on past behaviors and talents. From the past, this degree relates to the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn of May 28, 2000 @ '23Tau' = "A Jewelry Shop Filled with Valuable Gems."

So who knows? Maybe by 2012, few will care whether Sarah Palin wants to run for prez or not. One thing everyone knows: if she does plan to run, she's got an awful lot of studyin' and learnin' and info-retainin' to do.

One reason the GOP blocked Dems' DISCLOSE Act

Ignoring for a moment the constant one-ups-manship and 'ego games with important consequences' between our national-international political parties (based in Washington DC - you know the ones), I have an opinion about one of the reasons the DISCLOSE Act was blocked - with the ongoing Cardinal T-Square's Pluto at work squaring/blocking other planets which are engaged simultaneously in tangled opposition - relationships; awareness - with one another...well, I don't have to tell you that it's a difficult, noisy war being waged on a higher level above our noggins (for evolutionarily speaking, we are mere children in the universal scheme of things) and thus in our collective psyche yet it's a war that doesn't have to be expressed as violently against the common good as the power elite would have it.

Refuse to be manipulated!

Now we all know that the current Cardinal T-SQ and off-on Cardinal Cross bring times of tribulation, and it even includes things such as a minority party blocking progress (described by another exact opposition between status quo Saturn on - here, the Rs - and progressive (BHO) Uranus on Monday July 26 (2010; view chart) -- both are being blocked by apex (focal point) Pluto in Capricorn. And Mr. Hades holds all the puppet strings (as he wants us to think.)

Meanwhile, traditionalist Saturn and upstart Uranus are going at it hand to hand across the relationship/balance/war axis, Aries-Libra. But is Pluto interfering on subtle levels in their relationship dynamics? Primal violence is often the most effective arrow in his quiver and humankind pays the price through this dark force's frantic struggle for control of the human race, as down he goes. More guises of Pluto: devil, psychiatrist, Pope.

Eventually transiting Pluto, god of the underworld (and I mean that in every lousy, anti-social, psychopathic way you don't want to imagine), will return to his position in America's natal chart ('charts' for there are many potential birth dates and times for the US but basically Pluto = 27Cap33 Rx) and I think secret hand, wealthy bankster, saboteur and assassin Pluto has already left his psyche-you-out calling card on the world's hall tables, the fancy and the plain.

Well! WikiLeaks' Julian Assange is on TV now in a re-broadcast of last evening's interview conducted by journalist Amy Goodman on DemocracyNow! (which I get bwo of LINK TV.)

And Mr. Assange is correct, I think - America's wars are unsustainable, not easy to exit, and yet we must end them. It's a bitter pill for the Vulcans among us, but frankly, m'dear, I don't give a ham for the warmongers of the world who sit in their libraries and bank vaults while directing young men and women to their deaths as if they were pawns on a chess board.

Yes, the Crashing of America IS their goal and they're doing a good job of it, aren't they? Because now our nation is locked into a death spiral of war and bankruptcy engineered by dark forces - and we-the-people seem to be the only ones desperate for a 180-degree Turn of Direction!!!

Candidate Obama pretended he'd help end the madness, but this seems to have been a campaign ruse. Did he believe his NWO masters would withdraw their crusading footprints from the Middle East because President Obama said Pretty Please? He's a smart guy. And I think he knew the game very well, sorry to say.

So it remains for our citizen-zombies created by drugs both legal and illegal, programmed by entertainment trances and other methods meant to weaken the populace in every way - to awaken from their slumbers. And perhaps now that it's become of great financial consequence to so many, larger numbers of people will pay closer attention to what's really going on here and become active in non-violent displays of dissent.

They say that just recognizing and identifying a monster can go a long way toward lessoning his power and eventually vanquishing him. I submit that here is where monster Pluto comes in.

But sad to say, there's some ill news about the Horoscope for Inauguration 2013 (on Monday Jan 21, 2013): at Midheaven (Mc = The Goal; Aspirations; WHY?) lies not only US natal Pluto, but Vulcan; at Ic (Endings; The Drain; HOW?) lurks Vulcanus, both named for the myth concerning a jealous blacksmith, an iron-fashioner of war weapons.

Things were already bad enough but then his lady Venus betrayed him, you see, by messing around with lusty Mars - and these vulcanic archetypes turning up in the US Inauguration 2013 horoscope are indicative of vengeance, war, and strife or the preparation for war - made more apt to physically manifest in the world for the presidential term (2013 - 2017) because weapon-maker Vulcan has the Mc/Ic axis on both ends, going and coming, upon which to do his worst.

He has four years for the Inauguration 2013 horoscope to be in effect (or until the next US president, if we keep having them, takes the Oath, as mere titular heads or not.) Nuclear concerns cannot be ruled out. Pluto loves this since 'he' was discovered in 1930 and announced the atomic era. (More's the pity for all humankind when that natural law was broken for it brought the world the abomination of desolation and the subsequent contamination they can never be honest with us about.)

Yes, more chart study for Inauguration 2013 must be carried out, of course, for many other chart factors must be weighed in spite of such a strong signature of exactly what our world does not need - more war.

The good news is that we have time to divert the worst of it if we-the-people can manage soon to throw off the dark mantle that's been tossed over our collective right shoulder. More on that later if anyone is interested...because a certain Sabian Symbol describes a very telling and fateful picture.
