Horoscopes: Solar and Lunar Eclipses 2019 into 2020

2019/2020 Linked by Karmic Solar and Lunar Eclipses Across the Security Axis

Perhaps it may be useful for a reader or two to view on the same page both the Capricorn Solar Eclipse that ends 2019 (December 26) and its accompanying Cancer Lunar Eclipse which opens 2020 (January 10) so here ya go:

Enlarge the image if you will for there are some basic eclipse notes penned on the charts including a few of Trump's natal placements, and in the center of each horoscope are penned brief indications based on prominent midpoint pictures (via Munkasey and Ebertin).

Also listed are the 3 South Solar Eclipse themes and potentials for Jupiter's conjunction to South Node which can sometimes resemble a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction. Jupiter-SN reveals karmic conditions such as ethical clashes, conflicts of interest, and religious disagreements. Jupiter @5Cap20 conjoins the IC of the Solar Eclipse chart suggesting some measure of protection on the domestic front (and/or in farming, real estate, mining) however, Jupiter opposes US natal Jupiter (5Can56) (a negative if temporary indication) and as you see, Mercury accompanies the January 2020 Lunar Eclipse at the same critical degree of 20 Capricorn. The Moon-Mercury opposition suggests potentials for changes of mind, emotional challenges, conflicting opinions or ideas, and/or scheduling glitches.

Mercury and Jupiter Influences

Therefore, applying aspects in each chart of Mercury (Lunar Eclipse) and Jupiter (Solar Eclipse) provide further information: Mercury first conjoins Saturn (business contacts, seeking info from seniors or those with experience, serious meetings, court decisions, restricted communications or ideas), then Pluto (info and activities relate to gaining personal power, issues of finance and investment are on the menu, spying and surveillance).

Jupiter first squares the Ascendant (where Trump's natal Neptune rises = unreality and delusions, emotional excesses, promoting "the big picture") and identifies someone bombastic, pompous, and "holier than thou" who spreads himself too thin. Next Jupiter by transit conjoins the South Node (the 'tail of the dragon') as noted, above. The Great Benefic has moved beyond an expansive optimistic conjunction with the Sun although the Sun by transit will catch up with Jupiter (December 27 at 1:25 pm est) suggesting something positive coming (or at least expansive!). This Solar Eclipse occurs after Jupiter's inspirational trine with Uranus, the unpredictable planet which here is in the 8th house of Shared Resources, Credit, Debt, Insurance, Transformation, Big Business, Death, and the Occult suggesting flourishing fundraising and group activities.

Obviously, Sabian Symbols for the eclipses, planets, and points in the above horoscopes are revealing but I shall leave it to you, dear reader, to check them out for yourself. Hopefully this combined cosmic picture is helpful to you during this period of sudden changes of direction and traumatic karmic conditions which offer the Collective multiple opportunities to better handle current issues for we must reap what's been sown in the past.

Please note that in my Political Astrology posts I work with eclipses via their degrees, themes, and historical linkages ('cosmic echoes'). The December 2019 solar eclipse is annular (not as strong as a Total would be) and is not visible in the US which also reduces the strength of its possible influences within our society. However, all eclipses are known as 'cosmic blinks' and 'wild cards of the Universe' and in similar fashion to quirky, chaotic Uranus, eclipses herald changes of direction, disruption, and the potential for secrets to be suddenly revealed. Additionally, themes of the 3 South eclipse are significant in a Plutonian way and may pack somewhat of punch in the areas ruled by governmental Capricorn, the Saturn-ruled Zodiacal sign cast into a bright cosmic spotlight (along with Moon-ruled Cancer) on into 2020, a year full of major game-changing planetary conjunctions of Saturn-Pluto, Jupiter-Pluto, and Jupiter-Saturn. jc

Asteroid America, Obama's Plutonian Power, and the US Senate

Today, July 17, 2013, the US Senate convened at 9:30 am edt, an Hour of Saturn, with 6Vir40 rising and thus bringing up the natal Pluto of President Obama. The ongoing Water Grand Trine between the two societal planets, Jupiter and Saturn, with Neptune of The Masses has been contacting the president's 7th house Pluto, planet of power, manipulation, surveillance, and the unconscious.

Sextiles from Jupiter and Saturn have provided him with valuable opportunities for understanding how skills may be utilized and solutions found, yet with Neptune @4Pis57 Rx (today) opposing Mr. Obama's natal Pluto, a condition is in play via dissolving Neptune in which unseen forces or entities erode natal Pluto's power and control. Subtle or possibly deceit-filled manipulations are afoot!

Today these planetary conditions arose at 9:30 am edt in Washington DC with President Obama's natal Moon (3Gem21) at Midheaven! Moon = reigning need (Tyl) and MC = The Goal so we may expect that something the president desperately wants is at the top of the Senate agenda for July 17, 2013, and/or perhaps the president's powerful partnerships (natal Pluto in natal 7th house) will somehow receive attention on Capitol Hill, secretly or otherwise.

Convening during a Saturn Hour is perfect for our 'most deliberative body' and is also conducive to the hard work Saturn demands. Recent compromises in the Senate on nominee blocks, filibuster reform, and an immigration bill are promising but not too promising that the US Senate may be in process of getting its deliberative mojo back. Yet with Mercury Rx until July 20 and conjunct US natal Sun, activist Mars @2Can42 and out-of-bounds (off on his own and up to who-knows-what), and today's unaspected Sun (isolation--note that the president has kept a low profile since returning from Africa), a wait-and-see attitude is better than getting or hopes up too soon.

What's Up with Asteroid America?

Discovered during WWI on August 7, 1915 in Simeis, Crimea, USSR by G. Neujmin, asteroid America (#916) obviously signifies our nation in Mundane Astrology work though its archetype actually represents the entire Western Hemisphere. Named for explorer-cartotographer Amerigo Vespucci, its glyph is a pyramid with an eye inside which is said to have been taken from America's Great Seal image of same (Eye of Providence--or, eye of Horus in a floating capstone) by the excellent Al Morrison.

A search for America in the Serennu ephemeris shows that today, America is @18Cap36 Rx, a degree which spotlights 1993's three conjunctions of Illuminati-Enlightenment planets, Uranus and Neptune ('18Cap' = "POLITICAL POWER"). And there's a Solar Eclipse in Scorpio coming up in early November 2013 which contains influences of this insightful planetary duo and it will be discussed here and elsewhere in the coming weeks.

So where was asteroid America on July 4, 1776? At 27Lib26--trine US natal Moon in late Aquarius, and square US natal Pluto Rx @27Cap33, which imho, denotes We the People's opportunity for a new nation, a sovereign America, and powerful Pluto's control and manipulation of the US government via blocking tactics (square) from abroad (1776 Pluto out-of-bounds from the rest of America's natal planets---in a word, London.)

Now if only I could figure out why our nation is called 'America' and not 'Amerigo'!

SOLAR ECLIPSE: This Thursday, Feb. 7th, the Moon will pass in front of the Sun, producing a solar eclipse over New Zealand, most of Antarctica and parts of Australia. It is not a total eclipse; the Moon will only partially cover the solar disk. Nevertheless, the event promises some beautiful moments.

For instance, the partially-eclipsed Sun will dapple the ground with crescent-shaped sunbeams. Observers in New Zealand and Australia should look in the shadows of leafy trees for this lovely phenomenon. On the barren slopes of Antarctica, scientists and explorers can produce the same effect by letting the sun shine through a spaghetti colander or a sheet of paper poked with holes.

It is dangerous to stare directly at a partial eclipse because the exposed portion of the Sun is as blindingly bright as usual. Backyard astronomers with safely-filtered solar telescopes may, however, point their optics at the Sun and watch the mountainous lunar limb glide across the sun's fiery surface. The best views of all are reserved for an remote stretch of the Antarctic where the Moon will pass dead-center in front of the Sun without fully covering it. A thin layer of star will poke out all around the Moon producing a vivid "ring of fire" or annular eclipse.

Antartica??? That's where some say Atlantis will be uncovered as the ice melts...hmmm...and this is the Eclipse at the Unmasking degree... nah, couldn't be!

But there is a certain Sabian Symbol which is usually associated with America and it's "19Taurus"..."A continent arising from the ocean."

Well, if the time capsule that's supposedly hidden in Atlantis is there (with its info on how to escape the coming cataclysm), it's about to be snagged by the world's movers and shakers, and we'll only know of it when it's too late...if at all.

Even Scripture says that in the final days, the earth shall give up her treasures!

And there's a Solar Eclipse on Sept 11, 2007 in the 9 New South (18Virgo); this series tends to bring to the surface or the consciousness long-term worries about loved ones, health, or issues to do with paperwork or communications (those mysteriously missing emails, Karl?).

This eclipse series first manifested July 19, 1917 with Sun/Moon 25Can51, and Venus at 18Leo18--her degree on Sept 11, 2001, and the Solar Eclipse degree of Aug 11, 1999, the "Mother of All Eclipses" or aka The King of Alarm Eclipse of Nostradamus.

Bringing to the surface seems to already in progress as described in the article!


America's 2007 Solar Return Chart:


Here are the applying aspects of the Sun which describe how things will go in the next year for the initiatives, goals, and aspirations of our nation (and of her 'leader'):

1. Sun Quindecile (165 degr) Pluto (1A06): intense drive gains power and control; ruthless, manipulative, intimidating; purges old concepts; can possess strength of character; self-evaluation needed and beneficial (The Quindecile, Ricki Reeves.)

2. Sun inconjunct (150 degr) Chiron (1A18): total drive toward The Quest; rigidity about destiny hardens; the effect is like a loaded stick of dynamite (Chiron, Barbara Hand Clow.)

The Sun squares SR ASC (1A18; 14Lib37 so US natal Saturn is rising along with her natal Sun SQ Saturn--SR Sun is at MC, 2007 is a pivotal year for America with SR Sun conj an angle.)

Sun also is applying to MC (3A24), MC 16Can43 which links to the Pentagon's natal chart.

3. Sun trine (120 degr) Uranus (5A19): good fortune comes but may not be manipulated; some who seek more ego-satisfaction may advance; leadership, willpower, and career goals may prosper--but 'expect the unexpected.'

With America's natal Sun/Saturn square being in focus in the 2007 Solar Return chart we also find two asteroids rising as well with n Saturn (responsibility; restriction; control; accountability; the Old Man; authority figures) and these are:

Juno, the Wife, associated with legal relationships, wanting justice, fairness, and balance; restrictions (echoes Saturn); the abused/the abuser.

Tisiphone: retaliation.


The only midpoint picture becomes two when you substitute SR ASC for n Saturn:

NN/ASC = Pluto: strange or fated associations; power plays with others for personal advancement.

NN/ASC = n Saturn: oppression; suppression; separation or seclusion; conservatism; prevailing with wisdom and realism (that'd be refreshing coming from Washington, wouldn't it?)

There's a lot more I could say in the "speculation; wastefulness" areas for this Solar Return year but I'd be repeating myself since the beginning of this blog about the fleas and other crawly things of Washington. Attacked from without and within, America needs a lightening bug of truth to illumine her way in spite of all who wish her harm, and the maturity to stand up and make the changes which are now so obviously necessary.

Perhaps Saturn rising for 2007 will remind us of her natal ability for taking responsibility for past actions (planet Saturn would love that!) and our eternal youth image in the world (Gemini) might ripen to wiser maturity.

For abolishing a government not doing the People's will is our right...see this document and substitute Bush-Cheney for the king we railed against 231 years ago.

Seems an Ideal's dream of perfection is never done, is it?

Solar Eclipse and a Pluto Eclipse

SOLAR ECLIPSE: On March 19th around 0230 UT, the Moon will pass in front of the Sun, producing a partial solar eclipse visible from Russia, India, China and the northern reaches of Alaska. In those places the normally-round sun will turn into a crescent and cast strangely-curved shadows on the ground. PLUTO ECLIPSE: Astronomers from Texas to California with be watching Pluto Sunday morning, March 18th, when the dwarf planet sweeps across a red, 15th magnitude star in the constellation Sagittarius. Pluto's atmosphere was discovered as a result of such an occultation in 1985. When a star goes behind Pluto, its light is not extinguished abruptly, as if hidden by a sharp edge, but rather gradually--a sign that Pluto is surrounded by a fuzzy layer of gas.

Astronomers now use stellar occultations to monitor Pluto's atmosphere. Pluto is receding from the Sun and at some point it may become so cold that its atmosphere freezes and falls to the ground. NASA's New Horizons spacecraft is rushing to catch Pluto (ETA: 2015) before that happens. On March 18th, we'll find out if Pluto's atmosphere is still "up in the air."

Well, it seems good old Pluto does still have some cred in the astronomical community after all.

And the Solar eclipse 28Pis07 occurs at 10:42:31 pm edt, Sunday, March 18 for DC.

Mars 16AQ01 and Neptune 20AQ53 are snugged around the IC of the Eclipse chart with Saturn 19Leo02 Rx at MC--the only planet in the southern hemisphere, all by his lonesome, no one calling on the phone--which gives this picture:

Mars/Neptune = Saturn: instability; misdirected energy; unfortunate consequences as a result of a weak will; lasting weakness or illness; being taken advantage of; reticence; sense of futility; perservering in spite of fear; an epidemic.

Mars/Nep = MC: losing contact defensively; one's own world prevails; lack of energy; discontent; failures; state of weakness or sickness.

There's also this: Mars/Asc = Pluto: premature action; easily provoked to anger; intensity; violence; a love of quarreling; desire to rule others; subjugating others; forcible adjustment to new conditions and circumstances.

There's more but it's equally depressing so let's look at the Sabian Symbol degree for the Solar Eclipse..I'll be using "29Pis" rather than "28":

This Solar Eclipse is in the 9 New North Series which began August 21, 1664, and has manifested in 1917, 1935, 1953, 1971, 1989, and will again in 2025.

In her excellent book, Predictive Astrology: The Eagle and the Lark, Bernadette Brady gives this Saros Series as being very physically expressive, including possibilities of accidents and violence.

Well, I didn't want to be the one to mention it, but there it is.

Watergate deja vu?

Over the weekend the Democratic Headquarters in New Hampshire had a mysterious break-in, shades of June 17, 1972 at the Watergate.

HuffPo has a small bit on it and more will be coming out, for sure. Items were taken, but they're being mum about just what.

I took a quick look back at June 17, 1972, when Saturn was conjunct the US natal ASC (Sibly), and tr Pluto, the saboteur and spy, was at 29Vir20--the exact spot of our last difficult Solar Eclipse of Sept 22, 2006, 8 South:

separation; loss; sad endings; overstraining one's strength may lead to physical injury.

The intial Eclipse of this series began April 1, 1718 with Sun-Moon at "11Aries": "The president of the country."
