Powerful Pluto opposing US natal Sun (leadership)

For some time on my blogs I have occasionally mentioned transiting Pluto's effects as it traverses early to mid-Capricorn and opposes America's natal Venus, Jupiter, and Sun. Using an orb of plus or minus 5 degrees, transformative Pluto opposes US natal Sun (leadership; the presidency) @13Can+, depending on which birth hour you use for our nation on July 4, 1776, and we see that titanic power struggles abound in Washington DC. Also involved is the association of astrological Pluto with oppression (ex: 'lording it over others'), mind control and propaganda, and extreme wealth and riches hidden in secret places.

But let's not give a pass to Mr. Hades' links with the global Underworld Crime Syndicate, 'The Family', the International Banking Cartel ('City of London', etc), "The Octopus," total surveillance and spying, or even to the vicious character flaw of committing rape, a topic which Republicans struggle to define while obstructing legislation meant to protect women. Yes, Pluto is a sexy dude, which is more than can be said for the Todd Akinses amongst the GOP--even if it were appropriate.

As I type, tr Pluto sits at 9Cap27 which sextiles Saturn in sexy, occult, secretive Scorpio, quincunxes Jupiter Rx in Gemini (Direct Station @6Gem19 on January 30, 2013), and separates temporarily from its Cardinal Square with progressive Uranus in Aries, the sign where Ebertin described The Awakener as radical "Utopians" and zealots--you know, the ones in Congress who intend to take America's finances to the brink of default in a couple of months to make their ideological points while they play chicken with the 'faith and credit of the US' as they did in Summer 2011 for the sake of power-grabbing and thus handing our nation its first-ever credit downgrade. Those Utopians.

And they did it and will do it while pretending to care about America!

Wish I could say more today but with blogging time reduced this week due to family responsibilities, I am very glad to find that expert astrologer Jessica Murray has masterfully addressed the condition and events relating to Pluto opposing US natal Sun and other important transits in her comprehensive way on her blog at Daykeeper Journal so check it out if you haven't.

As you may be aware, the UK's natal Sun @10Cap opposes US natal Sun so tr Pluto has now conjoined London's leadership while opposing Washington's, a difficult transit that was on the other boot 100 years ago!

Ready for another dynamic blast from the ongoing Uranus/Pluto squares?

In 2004, the wonderful and still-missed Maya del Mar wrote a column concerning America in which she looked ahead at astrological factors including the current Uranus/Pluto squares and their influences upon society. The Picture Ahead for the US is a must-read, or a must-again-read if you already have, now that the squares have begun to affect the collective.

Beginning with their Great Conjunction/s in the mid-1960s in mid-Virgo, our social fabric is now under stress at their square phase (the crisis in action stage) as the Establishment resists the Uranian changes that we all know must occur in spite of the status quo interests and determination of the 1%.


Generational Struggles

As of July 2011 and until April 2015 and for some time beyond, this dynamic and restless energy which pits generations against each other must be dealt with on various levels and in one fashion or another. Perhaps the Sabian Symbols of their conjunction degrees can yield hidden information concerning what the Uranus/Pluto duo is attempting to teach us at this actional point in their evolutionary progress:

pos: cleverness in making use of everyday insights and intimations;

neg: a bondage to superstition and a surrender to the unknown.

Mundane Matters: Riots, Upheaval, and Mars Square Saturn

In an attempt to catch up with some Astrology reading online this morning, I came across Mary Plumb's excellent Moon/Mars Square Saturn post from August 2011 on her Mountain Astrologer blog which reveals the path of a busy Mars, upstart and warrior, as The Fiery One triggers riots, upheavals, violence, and enraged feelings around the globe.

Plus, in the article's footnotes, Mary notes the triggering of Summer Eclipses by god of war, Mars, which has been out-of-bounds of the earthly plane for several weeks but is now back within the fold of our planetary panoply, though at a difficult spot in the Zodiac--19Can08 this morning. Therefore, Mars will soon conjoin the Twin Stars, Castor and Pollux (20--24Cancer), with both stars possessing murderous and cruel implications on the mundane level of life, creative as they may be when linked to our natal planets.


A Major Supporting Role

Of course, the Uranus/Pluto square, close to exactitude last on August 8, 2011 (horoscope shown, set for DC), plays its supporting role in the violence as well, recalling their extreme, intense influence of riots, protests, head-knocking, and Civil Rights/Anti-War/Workers' Rights demands of the mid-1960s, time of their last Great Conjunction in mid-Virgo.

So with radical rebel Uranus and sabotaging, manipulating Pluto square (90 degrees = frustration, blockages, obstacles) one another from initiating Cardinal signs (Aries and Capricorn), they're ready for action.

This pits a Mars-ruled actor in me-first Aries against a Saturn-ruled actor in Capricorn, sign of government, law, and business--and Mars/Saturn is a difficult combination of energies with 'persistent war' and 'taking what belongs to others' connotations.

For some relief, however, the Mars/Saturn combo has an off-on/hot-cold/stop-go flow of energy and thus, of influence so we should take breaks where we can.


Rick Perry: Preacher, Prez Candidate, or Both?

Then, for Rick Perry fans (or those like me who dread his presidency if we should be so daft as to vote for one) astrologer Alex Miller over at Daykeeper Journal has published an instructive article detailing Perry's history and career--then Alex delves into the Astrology of Rick Perry's natal chart and soon identifies Perry as a Sun/Pandora personality with all the unleashing the blend suggests.

In dealing with Politics through the lens of Astrology, one grows accustomed to thinking of Neptune's less attractive traits such as deception, illusion, confusion, fraud - plus, the masses, the media--well, you know the list of nebulous, yet sometimes inspired or even divine, tendencies and provinces of the gaseous planet.

Yet as seen from Earth, Neptune is one of the most beautiful objects in our solar system with its blue methane cloudiness and a charming, mysterious quality of elusiveness (telescope or binoculars are needed to spy upon the Sea King!)

So I was happy as a puppy with two tails when my friend Crystal Pomeroy, who writes the insightful column Moon Meditations @ Daykeeper Journal, sent along a link to a celebratory, informative article concerning our eighth planet, the rather glamorous Neptune.

Tuesday July 12, 2011 was Neptune's 164.79th birthday since its discovery on the evening of September 23, 1846. Yet in true Neptunian fashion, a veil is tossed carelessly across even that event for actually, Galileo was first to document (January 1613) what he notated as as a 'fixed star'...which we now know was planet Neptune!

Current US circumstances with jobs elusive and bank fraud run rampant (with much still hidden and un-indicted) may be described in part by Neptune (loss; fraud; deception; disappointment) in Virgo (work, service; discrimination) ruled by quicksilver Mercury which in America's natal horoscope (July 4, 1776) is retrograde in Cancer at a very interesting degree in the Sabian Symbols in relation to the events and participants of 1776 and to our national character in 2011.

Now it's true I always think of Pluto's Cape of Invisibility (and Adam Weishaupt, founder of the Bavarian Illuminati, in May 1776) when I read the word picture for '25Can' yet Neptune plays an obscuring part in the charade as well. Neptune is quite the masquerader and actor, as is well known. And that, dear reader, becomes more and more apparent as the mummery of the debt and budget 'meetings' (rehearsals?) continue up to the wire of Default and obscures from realistic view what may occur to US and World markets after August 2, 2011 if a devil's deal isn't reached.

And as America approaches her third of three 'hits' from transiting Saturn to US natal Saturn (a 'Saturn Return' which occurs approximately every 28 years: accountability issues must be addressed) I am put in mind as I watch and listen to the debt brouhaha on Capitol Hill that the cold water of tr Saturn (restriction; denial; delays) stamped its signature upon Mr. Obama's presidency and America's n Neptune (hopes, dreams, ideals)...in Virgo, sign of Work and Health. (Being without work or income greatly affects one's mental, emotional, and physical health.)


Tr Saturn saluted US n Neptune on August 27, 2009 and that evening, Mars was closest to Earth as calculated at the International Planetarium in Vancouver, B.C. by way of a code (mathematical formula) found on a pyramid near the Observatory Hotel in Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico. That night Mars (in Tropical Cancer)looked like a second Moon! Are sky-watchers the Maya now considered the Greeks of America?

Of particular note politically is the handy timing device of the parallel between tr Saturn and US n Neptune (similar to a strong conjunction) which formed on September 10, 2009, an interesting date in Politics. Challenging, confrontational Mars in Cancer was just passing US n Jupiter and about to conjoin US n Sun, the president and this was the evening that President Obama addressed a Joint Session of Congress to urge the passing of his health care reform bill (more insurance reform, really) and was rudely interrupted by Joe Wilson's martian shout of "You lie!"

(Noting that the "You lie!" interruption of Mr. Obama - SN conj Hopi: see Tea Party info below - is paralleled or echoed by the current and reputed interruptions of him by Republican Eric Cantor during their debt ceiling 'negotiations' at the White House. John Boehner as Speaker of the House is the one who should be talkin' to the president, not lowly Representative Cantor.)

And now in 2011, somewhere between Saturnian realism and Neptunian lies, left twisting in the wind are the American people. Ill-served (Neptune in Virgo, the Server) by a double-dealing, warring government, robbed of pension funds, employment, and hard-won bargaining rights with management (Saturn), we-the-people are forced to wonder if the politicians of Washington DC are still able to govern a sovereign nation at all with their visionary (perhaps self-deceptive) Neptunian ideology getting in the way of practical concerns and needs.

Too bad we can't tie Tossing Out Every Top Government Official (especially those in Congress) irrevocably to the proposed Default of August 2, 2011, a speculative Jupiter-Neptune circumstance which, if allowed, will effectively toss out the American people if the US defaults on its debts, since WE should be the last ones standing in America--not the select few who pretend to govern while driving our nation off a financial cliff for the sake of their one-world-government vision...Saturn (government) Neptune (vision) as inspired long ago by a mercurial Man Wrapped in an Invisible Mantle of Power.

Hey! Did you miss the dual charts of the Tea Party Convention (Feb 4 - 6, 2010) in Nashville, TN? Some amazing astro-factors are shown (click image to enlarge horoscopes) as sunrise on February 4, 2010 in Nashville brought up Sarah Palin's natal trio of Sun-Mars-Saturn @ 22AQ - 26AQ.)

The Tail of the Dragon (South Node, SN) conjoins tr asteroid Hopi, keywords: ambush; prejudice which seems to me is a theme of the Tea Party's challenge to Barack Obama. Sorry, but there it is, right there in the chart. This doesn't mean that all Tea Partisans are racist, only that those at the top either feel that way or have determined that their political advantage is assured by appealing to that nasty prejudicial strain in the American psyche - even though the majority of us come from generations of immigrants of all skin colors. Crazy!

In the symbolic 'end of the Convention' chart set for 11:59 pm February 6, 2010, two interlocked YODs (crisis; crossroads; special task) appear with Mars/Saturn at the base of one (YOD pattern (Mars-Saturn on one level is Mrs. Palin), and Jupiter/Pluto as the base of the second YOD; Jupiter-Pluto = wealthy preachers and the corporate funders and backers who, for one thing, have hijacked the leadership role of the Tea Party--here, I trustingly assume that the TP was ever a 'grass roots' movement rather than the externally controlled astro-turf model the national organization now resembles.

Well, on the Convention's last night, February 6, 2010, the key asteroid has to be Hidalgo, one of the power archetypes with a social climbing vibe, which was, at 11:59 pm, perfectly mirrored by the light of the Moon @ 3Sag06 = a woman; publicity, conjoining powerful Hidalgo...synchronistically @ 3Sag06!

No, I can't count Sarah 'Sun-Mars-Saturn' Palin out of the Jupiter-Pluto-funded 2012 presidential race just yet. Sad to say. jc

Ridding Toxicity by the Scorpio Full Moon: Crystal Pomeroy

Having just been privileged to publish with the author's permission May 17, 2011's Scorpio Full Moon Meditation by Daykeeper Journal's lunar expert, Crystal Pomeroy, I thought SO'W readers would appreciate a heads-up on Crystal's insightful column.

As a sign, Scorpio enjoys a mixed reputation and it's often considered negative. But the 8th sign, ruled by Mars and co-ruled (as I say!) by transformative Pluto, has the ability to positively affect toxins so that we may refresh ourselves - especially when Politics (that 'organized system of hatreds') poisons our thought processes and separates us from our Higher Minds and from feeling empathy for our fellow human beings!

Astrology of the Fed and 2009

This morning I've been attempting a mild catch-up on Astrology articles concerning 2009 - especially those relating to the economic crisis. I've just read one by Boots Hart, The Recessionary Reserve, where the Fed's Scorpionic Midheaven and natal chart are discussed in useful detail including the Fed's Solar Returns 2007/08, and more. Not to be missed!

Hart says that the Fed's Scorpionic balance is "out of whack" while everyone has gone into 'me first' mode due to fear, one of the more negative traits of Scorpio.

And while at Daykeeper Journal, you may also wish to visit Crystal Pomeroy, who gives her overview of 2009 which, Crystal says, is "a portal of great challenge and equally substantial opportunity."

Crystal covers 2009 as a year of '11' which is a master number of potential transcendence allowing us to "transmute obstacles and limitations into a higher good."

Thanks, Crystal! A higher good is exactly what a saddened and beggared world could use and, as you say, each of us can contribute in our own way even while highly paid Washington politicians continue fiddling their fearful tune.

A Note from Georgia: three more banks were shut down here over the weekend. My own has morphed into Wells Fargo which seems to be working okay so far. And Gov. Purdue has ordered state workers to take every other Friday off as a furlough - without pay.

Bailout Bill full of Black Holes

Sometimes I wish I knew more about using Black Holes, Quasars, Pulsars, and other fascinating astronomical oddities in my Astrology work but where would I find the time? There are bells and whistles in my Solar Fire software now that I never use and doubt I ever will get around to it.

That's why when it comes to Oct 3, 2008's outrageous Bailout Bill, I turn to Alex Miller-Mignone at the excellent Daykeeper Journal for information about Black Holes and the red finances of the Bush administration.

As if anyone isn't aware of the disappearing of America's wealth down the rabbit hole of Bush's budgetary maw!

People who once defended our drunken sailor no longer can deny the havoc his spending has wreaked upon America and her people--and the fact that his sorry ways are affecting the world economy, too.

So you may wish to read Alex Miller-Mignone's excellently accurate astrological descriptions of the Black Holes linked to the money planets in the natal chart of George Dubya Bush into which America's money, reputation, justice system, and a whole lot else have evaporated--and, as Alex says, with very little of benefit to show for it, if any.

You'll also find some sexy beast info there on the sidewindin' varmint...ugh. Having Mars in Virgo isn't always probelmatic in the sack, but along with other chart factors...well, read it for yourself.

a Black Hole president

That's what we have: a president and presidency full of Black Holes.

Alex Miller-Mignone's excellent article in the Daykeeper Journal on the Black Hole links to George Bush's natal planets (which includes America's Sun) shines light on seven years of Bush from his questionable (s)elections to the Oval Office, his propaganda cataputlin' (as he called it in a moment of unconscious truth telling), to his spying tendencies, and more.

Alex's article, one of a series, explains Bush's natal Sun in Cancer, and his Mercury-Pluto conjunction in 1st house, a pairing which indicates secretiveness, cruel thoughts, and persuasive speaking ability on its own. In the early years of his residency, Bush's manipulation of the English language was made out to be a joke--a sly-dog media's diversionary tactic to veil content.

Add Black Holes to the cauldron and we have our little devil of a dictator, his nibs himself, who believes his own versions of the truth, never letting reality interfere with his dreams of world domination...dreams and plans which were handed down from Poppy (old pal of *Anton Lavey, satanist supreme.)

A further article by Miller-Mignone is promised on Bush's Mars-Saturn placements and his "foreign policy" if what he does abroad can be called that.
