Obama calls Space Shuttle Atlantis 5.20.09: audio link

Today at 5:45 pm edt, President Obama called the crew of the Space Shuttle Atlantis and I can hook you up with the audio of the call here if you like.

At 5:45 pm edt in Washington, DC, Hour of Saturn (14Vir55; in 11th house), 00Sco26 was Rising.

Rounding up to '1 Scorpio' the ASC conjuncts the natal Sun's degree of the New World Order (Oct 24, 1993; determined by the Uranus/Neptune Conjunction #3); Sun 00Gem00 is in 8th house, and Moon 12Ari17 is in 6th house with attracting Venus 15Ari16, asteroid Atlantis 19Ari40, and desirous Mars 21Ari44.

Atlantis '19 Aries' is, of course, conjunct the Sun's exaltation degree.

A YOD (Finger of God pattern), indicator of a special task or a crisis, is formed with ASC sextile Pluto 2Cap47 Rx (Pluto in 3rd house of Communications); the sextile points toward the Sun ('the leader' in a national chart); thus a midpoint picture may be read as:

Pluto/ASC = Sun: seeing a whole new avenue for development and success; full steam ahead; attaining esteem and respect through physical prowess and strength; a ruthless conduct toward people in one's environment.
(all mdpt pics: Tyl; Ebertin.)

Pres. Obama's natal Neptune is in 1st house and is being 'stomped upon' by the transiting midpoint of Saturn/Pluto 8Sco51, so we have:

Tr Saturn/Pluto = n Neptune: the desire to harm others secretly; lies, fraud, falsehoods; not being seen for who one is; being doubted; unstable life situation because of the inexplicable, because of fear.

(Yet the Saturn/Pluto combination of energies can be: the adept; the magician - neither of which are out of Neptune's realm of mysticism. It's all about motive and how we choose to use our chart factors, isn't it?)

Pres. Obama's Progressions for this date and hour show an ongoing Secondary Progressed midpoint picture which may be of concern for his presidency and for the nation...

Saturn/NN = Neptune: deception, fraud, lies; confusing others about one's personal stand; confusion in one's environment.

I mention this now because these pics fall in the 1st house of this 'BHO calls Atlantis crew' chart and relates to his presidency (Saturn/NN = the sponsorship of more experienced persons) and to Neptunian veils, deceptions, and illusions which are so very undermining to us all. Being a US president is a risky tightrope to walk especially with so many people attempting to undermine (Neptune) you at every turn.

The 5:45 pm edt Midheaven 5Leo31 (MC = the goal) has America's natal NN (North Node) upon it along with Obama's natal Cupido 6Leo36 as well (corporatism; The Family), and the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune trio, now all at '27AQ' conjunct US natal Moon, is in 4th house, the Basis of the Matter.

NN 2AQ22 has crossed the IC into 3rd house (Communications) which puts South Node 2Leo22 and Obama's natal Mercury 2Leo20 (communications) at MC but in 9th house of Long Distance Travel.

The 'Images for Integration' Air-Fire blend of Sun Gemini/Moon Aries are:

'A nimble-footed street fighter dodges his way to victory above all comers...The eternal freshness of a Constable landscape.' (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Chas & Suzi Harvey; this is John Constable's natal Sun-Moon blend.)

For this and other reasons shown in this chart, I tend to suspect that the stated purposes for the Space Shuttle Atlantis' *current mission may not be all that meets our eyes, but surveillance of the planet may meet the power elite's peepers - along with America's ongoing 'eternal' desire to best other nations in the race to dominate from space.

*Atlantis mission: repairing the Hubble Telescope which was successful, they say, so we'll be viewing more lovely cosmic photos!

Atlantis launch 5/11/09: horoscope

Not liking the looks of this chart, is it too much to hope that the launch of the Atlantis space shuttle this afternoon might be delayed or cancelled?

Today's launch is a re-schedule already and I certainly want them to repair the aging Hubble Telescope which, if successful, will have its photography life extended by 5 years or more.

Cape Canaveral, FL, 2:01 pm edt.

5 is the number of Creativity and when applied to Astrology's '5th house' can imply Speculation and Risk-Taking. But of course any space venture is a risk being taken - and this time there are 7 astronauts on board.

It's now 12:03 pm edt and NPR is reporting that the countdown, which began at 4 pm edt on Friday, has been flawless so far.

The chart of the most recent lunation, the Full Moon 18Sco41 of May 9, 2009 contained a YOD (Finger of God pattern (special task; crisis; adjustment - as with repairing Hubble) with Mercury 1Gem35 Rx as apex planet with a definite leaning toward scientific recognition and fame.

Guess I can type out the word pictures (midpoint pictures) pointing to energetic Mars, strong in mid-Aries, 8th house; conjunct Part of Organization, and the asteroid Terpsichore, whose archetypes include: the orchestrator.

Two T-Squares form, both with the Ascendant 3Vir03 and Ceres. This is one degree from the US Secondary Progressed Moon Sec Full Moon in Dec 2008 if progressions are based on the US Sibly chart - soon-to-occur in 2009 if based on other US natal charts - but still at the same 4Vir/Pis10 degrees. You may go to Jude's Threshold and look in Pages column in left sidebar for chart with details.)

Jupiter/ASC = Mercury: gladdening news; intense exchange of thoughts; good suggestions, stimulating ideas; delight in contact.

Jup/ASC = MC: being in the right place at the right time; successful positioning; success with public contacts; harmony.

Neptune/ASC = Mercury: guided by wrong impressions or perceptions; being deceived regarding other people's character; exploiting others' weaknesses; taking the wrong path; malicious scheming.

So you see quick-traveling Mercury, conjunct Fixed Star Alcyone 00Gem00 (something to cry about; exile - Anthony Louis, Horary Astrology) elevated in the launch chart if all goes as scheduled today at 2:01 pm edt. A retrograde Mercury can indicate glitches but could signify the glitches they're going into space to fix, too. (With Astrology as it describes Life, it's all about levels, isn't it?)

If you click to enlarge the chart you see a midpoint which falls on action-oriented Mars in 8th house...

Neptune/MC = Mars: playing a role; charisma for gain in the arts; acting without clear understanding or purpose; desire to bring wrong ideas into realization; study of metaphysical subjects; a desire to harm other people. (Tyl; Ebertin.)

The midpoint pictures given above are mixed at best, and with asteroid Hopi 1Gem51 (ambush; prejudice) at Midheaven as well, I don't want to say more about the chart with risk-taker who fell to Earth Icarus at '10Pis' = 'An Aviator in the Clouds'...but only whisper a little prayer for safe mission and a safe return for all.

New Scientist photo of Mercury's mysterious Rembrandt crator

Woo hoo! Not sure how I've missed the New Scientist website before but it has such a plethora of interesting articles you'll want to discover them for yourself.

From H1N1 (Swine) Flu's genetic analysis to a near-Earth asteroid 2009HC82 recently found orbiting our Sun in retrograde orbit (rare, and should have already been seen) to an article about NASA's possibly abandoning its plans for a Moon base, this site really rocks!

And if you're in a jurassic mood, you may wish to check out "First dino 'blood' extracted from ancient bone" while you're visiting.

Oh, and my personal favorite, "Mysterious spokes found in crator on Mercury" in a fly-by photo from Oct 2008 courtesy of NASA's Messenger spacecraft - click to view an Astrology chart-with-details of Jan 14, 2008, the day of Messenger's launch.

The strange spokes and troughs are seen in a photo (included) of Mercury's Rembrandt crator so fly-by the New Scientist when you can!

NASA's STEREO looking for ancient planet remains near Earth

NASA's twin STEREO solar observatories are entering a mysterious region of space to search for an ancient planet that once orbited our Sun and which may have collided with Earth and formed our lovely Moon.

Now I admit to a deep preference for the Biblical account - that our Moon was created to give us a lantern during what would have been very dark nights without our Luna, but the article and probe's mission are very interesting all the same.

Even 'Lagrange points' (an astrological term as well) are part of STEREO's search.

In fact, the 'ancient planet collision forms Moon' scenario echoes what some astrologers have said for years concerning possibilities such as a 'missing moon' or a point such as a 'Dark Moon' and other mystery planet potentials. Plus, 'Dark Moon Lilith' and 'Dark Moon w'mat2' come to mind as well.

Scientists think that STEREO's search may turn up remains from what they're calling 'Theia,' a proto-planet whose remains are referred to as 'Theiasteroids.'

And you can help find Theiasteroids by scrutinizing photos from STEREO as they come in!

So check out the STEREO article for tantalizing possibilities.

~:~

No, I'd never heard of hypothetical planet 'Theia' when I rendered Thea identifying with her mask in 2007 for if I had, her name might have been spelled differently! (Please click past the adult content warning if you're age 17+.)

Listen to Jupiter's radio storms!

Space Weather News for April 13, 2009

RADIO STORMS ON JUPITER: On April 11, an amateur radio astronomer in New Mexico heard loud pops and crackles coming from the loudspeaker of his shortwave receiver. The sounds resembled terrestrial lightning, but the source was not on Earth. It was a radio storm on Jupiter.

You can listen to the sounds on today's edition of SpaceWeather News.

Astronomers have long known that Jupiter produces strong shortwave radio bursts detectable from Earth; the fact of Jupiter's "radio activity" is not news. However, now may be the best time in decades to listen to the giant planet. The sun is in the pits of a century-level solar minimum. Low solar activity increases the transparency of Earth's atmosphere to shortwave radio waves, allowing signals from Jupiter to more easily and clearly reach the ground.

At the same time, terrestrial radio interference subsides (another side-effect of solar minimum), so Jupiter bursts are easier to identify.

2009 is going to be a good year for Jupiter. The planet is moving away from the sun and may now be seen shining brightly in the eastern sky before dawn. Students, teachers and amateur scientists who wish to try listening as well as watching should consider building their own radio telescope.

Kits are available from NASA's Radio JOVE Program.

~:~

Astrologically we could also say that "2009 is going to be a good year for Jupiter" the planet of money, expansion, ethics, and ideologies thanks to the 13-year-cycle of Jupiter's Great Conjunction with Neptune from late May 2009 to December 2009 - as the Fed's grand plan of creating excess liquidity to flood markets everywhere continues to float fancy yachts and sink modest boats within the storms of Washington's and Wall Street's speculation and fraud.

Now Jupiter prefers to do better than that but nebulous Neptune isn't usually as picky! Or perhaps it's more correct to say that Neptune would be pleased to act above board if human beings were more ethical.

New solar wings for ISS + Jupiter's Moons conjunct the Sun

Space Weather News for March 21, 2009

ISS GETS NEW WINGS: The International Space Station's solar arrays are the largest deployable space assemblies ever built. Yesterday, astronauts unfurled a pair on the starboard side of the outpost, adding more than 8000 sq. feet of light-collecting surface area to the station's profile.

Hours after the new wings were deployed, the ISS flew over Europe where amateur astronomers photographed the changes. Their movies and photos are featured on today's edition of SpaceWeather News.

SOLAR CONJUNCTION OF JUPITER'S MOONS: Another must-see movie comes from NASA's STEREO-B spacecraft. On March 15 and 16, the solar observatory watched Jupiter and its moons converge on the sun just as a coronal mass ejection was exploding "overhead." Visit SpaceWeather.com for footage.

Solar and Lunar Eclipses of 2009

Boondoggle for trillions and front for spy satellites though it may be, NASA can be useful to society such as providing details on 2009's Eclipses - like their paths of totality and visibility.

History of 2009's Eclipses and future dates are also given.

Here's the Solar-Lunar Eclipse list of occurrence from Brady's Predictive Astrology:

1. Solar 6AQ30: Jan 26, 11 North: people suddenly change groups with which they are mixing, through travel or ideas; the separation produces positive benefits;

2. Lunar 21Leo: Feb 9;

3. Lunar 15Cap: July 7 (NASA says it's so minor it's invisible);

4. Solar 29Can: July 22, 11 South: old methods and ideas fail and new systems are required to deal with events; sudden reforms are
necessary and any blocks could be violently or tragically removed.

5. Lunar 14AQ: Aug 6;

6. Lunar 10Can: Dec 31, 2009.

ISS toolbag spotted in orbit: video link

Space Weather News for Nov 25:

ISS TOOLBAG: A backpack-sized tool bag inadvertently dropped from the International Space Station last week is orbiting Earth and has been sighted from the ground. The tool bag is surprisingly bright, about 6th or 7th magnitude, which makes it an easy target for binoculars or a small telescope.

Today's edition of SpaceWeather News offers observing tips, sighting reports and a movie of the bag in orbit.

AURORA WATCH: High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras tonight and tomorrow. Earth is entering a solar wind stream and this could trigger geomagnetic storms around the Arctic Circle.

Sentinel all-sky camera spots new meteors!

NASA Begins Hunt for New Meteor Showers details how NASA astronomer and meteor expert, Bill Cooke, working at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, received an email sent him by his Sentinel camera showing an amazing meteor shower over Huntsville pre-dawn on Sept 9, 2008.

The whole spetacular show, including over two dozen fantastic fireballs, was recorded by the Sentinel, an all-sky camera located on the grounds of the Marshall SF Center. Good thing the Sentinel "never gets sleepy" because dim meteors had previously been sighted around Sept 9 originating from the constellation Perseus, but with showiness lacking, the shower had not been observed with eagerness - had been rather dissed, in fact.

Click the link for audios, videos, and full length movies of the fireballs which were brighter than Jupiter or Venus, a sparkly pair of planets you may have noticed after sunset this month, but be sure to watch out for them Nov 30 and Dec 1, as the Moon joins them in a harmonic trio.

Since the outburst in September, a second camera has been set up 100 miles away at the Walker County Science Center in north Georgia so that the meteors' trajectories may be backtracked to find the as-yet unknown parent comet...kind of an astronomical paternity test!

"With two cameras, we can gather the data we need to calculate orbits," says Cooke.

Then on Oct 1, 2008, a meteor exploded over Huntsville creating a fireball effect so you may wish to check out the movie showing the fireball over Hunstville and over Georgia.

Results of this research are expected to help NASA concerning the many meteor flashes which impact the Moon quite often so this will be important information for the time when NASA returns a man to the Moon.

Because no one wants a fireball landing on his noggin!

Messenger probe to buzz Mercury Monday 10.6.08

Mercury the Messenger Gets Fly-by from Messenger! was posted in January 2008 when NASA's Messenger craft was approaching the mysterious planet Mercury.

As you know, Mercury is so close the our Sun we hardly know him and tomorrow in the wee hours of the morning, NASA's Messenger probe will fly 125 miles above the surface and take photos of an area about the size of South America.

That Mercury astrologically speaking is now retrograde 14Libra+ isn't considered good for things Mercury is said to 'rule' in Astrology (or affect) so I hope NASA gets all the photos they desire with perfect transmission which is not always seen with Mercury Rx which can also affect travel - on earth, at least.

Both readers of this blog know that I sometimes frisk into degree symbolism including Adriano Carelli's version from his 360 Degrees of the Zodiac.

Let's see what Mercury's degree tomorrow morning '14Lib' says...

"A fox and an ancient theater mask (from one of Aesop's Fables.)"

Oh my good-den-ness! it can't be that this is only a stage presentation to bolster NASA's and the USA's reputation, could it?

You know, I've had the horoscope of America's first landing on the Moon for years now and never published it. Other blogs or sites have, I'm sure, so my own grousings on the squirreliness of the Moon landing chart could make little if any difference to anyone.

Or perhaps it's more that I've simply never gotten 'round to it.

Anyway, let's see if there's anything of interest in Carelli's explanation of this dramatic word picture and see if things get any better for the Messenger:

It is a degree of theatricality, implying cunning but an otherwise dull mind. (Mercury is the planet of 'the mind' in Astrology.)

Here's more in highlight form...self-conceit coupled with the most abject toadying; a mixture of priggishness and pandering, bluff and treacherousness; a flamboyant style, propensity for dazzling pageants, void and bombastic rhetoric.

Sheesh. Nothing better here.

Carelli goes on to say that '14Lib' is the degree of Saturn in the Fascist regime's natal chart. Hmph. And '14Lib' is America's natal Saturn degree, too.

Well, if that's the sort of message we'll be receiving from eye-in-the-sky NASA and the *ISS, let's hope the fascist corporate-state powers oh-so-recently melded into one strand and now held in Hank Paulson's hand meets its end sooner rather than later.

All apologies, dear reader, for making this Messenger to Mercury post more than first intended...I opened Carelli's book and it just typed out that way! Crummy politics invades everything.

A lavender sun and ISS flybys

Space Weather News for June 29, 2008

LAVENDER SUN:

Ignited by lightning, hundreds of wildfires are burning in California, smothering the northern half of the state with thick plumes of smoke. The unusually widespread haze is causing a rare atmospheric optics phenomenon--the lavender sun. Many Californians report seeing the sun, when viewed through the smoke, turn a bright shade of purple.

Today's edition of the SpaceWeather News features pictures of the phenomenon and an explanation.

ISS AT DAWN:

A new batch of ISS flybys is underway. For the next two weeks, Europeans and North Americans can see the International Space Station flying overhead just before dawn.

Recent additions to the station have made it bigger and brighter than ever and if you haven't seen the ISS in a while, you might be surprised by its increased luminosity. Some sky watchers have spotted it in broad daylight.

Check our Simple Flybys page to find out when to look. #

Summer Solstice and Noctilucents

Space Weather News for June 20, 2008

SUMMER SOLSTICE: Northern summer and southern winter begin today, June 20th, at precisely 23:59 UT (7:59 pm EDT) when the sun ascends to its highest latitude on the celestial sphere. In the Northern Hemisphere, we have the longest day and shortest night of the year, and the reverse in the Southern Hemisphere. The seasons are changing--Happy Solstice!

NOCTILUCENT CLOUDS: Summer is the season for noctilucent clouds and this morning, right on cue, a wave of bright NLCs rolled over the British Isles. Observers in Scotland and Northern Ireland report luminous tendrils of electric blue bright enough to attract the attention of casual passersby.

These glow-in-the-dark clouds are a 100+ year old mystery under investigation now by NASA's AIM spacecraft. Originally confined to arctic latitudes, NLCs have spread in recent years with sightings in the United States as far south as Utah and Colorado.

Check today's edition of SpaceWeather.com for observing tips and the latest photos.#

Astrologically, you'll find this evening's 2008 Summer Solstice chart info by scrolling below to June 18 where there's a link to the Solstice chart with details on my Jude's Threshold blog, if you so wish.

A somewhat tardy newsletter but still pertinent including this Friday-the-13th, with raspberries going to Jacques DeMolay for the tangle and bother of superstition surrounding the number 13:

Space Weather News for June 10, 2008

DOUBLE FLYBY ALERT: Space shuttle Discovery is scheduled to undock from the International Space Station on Wednesday morning, June 11th, at 7:42 am EDT. This means many sky watchers will be able to see the two spaceships flying in tandem, separate but closely-spaced points of light, gliding among the stars on Wednesday night.

Double flybys will continue on Thursday the 12th and to a lesser extent on Friday the 13th, with Discovery returning to Earth on Saturday. Southeastern parts of the United States (e.g., Miami and Atlanta) are favored with some particularly good apparitions.

Check our Simple Flybys tool to find out when you should look: SpaceWeather flybys

MARSWORM: Meanwhile on Mars, Phoenix has photographed a worm-shaped object near one of its feet. No, it is not a Marsworm.

Visit SpaceWeather to find out what really lies at Phoenix's feet and to view the latest 3D images from the Red Planet. #

~~:~~

Interesting! but I may know the identity of the 'MarsWorm' that's been spied...you may have noticed him lurking about the White House lo these many years dropping bombs, destroying the peace, and breaking every treaty he meets with devil-may-care abandon; and, it seems, worshiping Mars, the god of war.

And he speaks as if he longs for Mars' red shores.

Sound familiar? Have you seen this man? Dennis Kucinich has. Hope he socks it to the GOP (and their enablers) before the November elections.

More lessons for proud America!

Space Station joins Jupiter in May!

Space Weather News for May 1, 2008

FLYBY ALERT: This is a good month for spaceship spotting. On May 1st, the International Space Station (ISS) begins a 4-week series of bright flybys over North America and Europe. In early May, the ISS joins Jupiter and the stars of the Summer Triangle in a glittering pre-dawn sky. Later in the month, increasingly-frequent flybys shift to evening hours and the ISS will be crossing paths with Saturn, the Moon and Mars.

US and Canadian readers, check our Simple Satellite Flybys tool to find out when to look. (European readers, an international version of the flybys tool will be available in the near future--stay tuned.)

EXPLORE THE IONOSPHERE: The ionosphere is our planet's "final frontier." A realm of dancing auroras, radio-bending plasma bubbles and dangerous ultraviolet rays, it is the last wisp of Earth's atmosphere that astronauts leave behind when they enter space. Now you can explore the ionosphere from the safety of your own home.

Yesterday, NASA-supported researchers unveiled a "4D" computer model for the general public. Download a few files and presto--you're flying through the ionosphere. The model shows the ionosphere as it is right now; it's a real-time display based on current solar activity and atmospheric conditions.

Shuttle Atlantis launches 2.7.08 2:45 pm est

After 2 months of delay, the shuttle Atlantis has been launched today from Cape Canaveral, FL at 2:45 pm est as scheduled.

With deception and espionage smeared all over the chart of this long-awaited mission--ostensibly to take Europe's science lab, Columbus, to join the Internatioanl Space Station (a surveillance command satellite if there ever was one) today's launch may be considered a jolly accomplishment by some, another link in the spying chain to others.

Asteroid Icarus 5AQ54 is conj US natal South Node which is at "Medina" degree and if you're a consiracy theorist as myself, you'll recognize the degree as Islam's Neptune Return on 9/11/01. This was Neptune's position when Mohammed entered Medina, thus the name of the 6-7 AQ degree area. Icarus has unfortunate connections with assassination but let's not go there.

With Mercury (air flight) being Rx and conj Chiron 16AQ00, there may be disrupted communications at the least, and I hope that's their only trouble, difficult as that would be for such a flight...launched within hours after a Solar Eclipse.

Suffice it to say, there is much Neptunian action in this chart...secretive Neptune of subterfuge and veils, plus, there's Pluto of the invisible helmet--spying and sabotage are his specialities. Pluto is still on the World Point of 00Cap22.

Neptune 21AQ26 is conj three midpoints which give these pictures (Tyl; Ebertin):

Sun/Moon = Neptune: deceptions; illusions; the undermining of associations.

Moon/Mercury = Neptune: falsehood; exposure to lies and calumny; wrong notions and whims.

Mercury/NN = Neptune: an interrupted contact; confusion about how to fit into the group.

Now I don't wish difficulty upon such projects (overly ambitious as they may be) yet I admit to not believing that they're only what they are purported to be. Honorable science experiments? Pshaw.

Now there is one lovely midpoint pic which may indicate a safe mission--

Jupiter/Mc = Mercury: large scale projects and ventures; a wealth of thoughts; far reaching thoughts; successful plans. (A direct Mercury would be more helpful here.)

At 2:45 pm est, asteroid Pallas (keyword: strategy) crossed the top of the chart, the Midheaven (Mc)--the Goal/Aspiration Point of the launch. Opposite at the Ic at that moment (Ic = the Foundation or Basis of the matter) lurks America's natal Neptune. Idealistic Neptune more often brings dissolution, confusion, insecurity--and veiling.

Asteroid Atlantis is at a critical 29th degree: 29Libra31 in 5th house of risk-taking. Well, space travel of any sort is just that, isn't it?

Uranus 16Pis59 is connected to space travel, science, and technology, and has just crossed Mc near Fixed Star, Ahernar, "risk of rapid endings" yet Achernar may also bring success. We've recently seen Uranus' disruptive ability with internet cables cut under the sea (Pisces) and I'd been wondering for some time where that would occur...more of that disruption may be forthcoming.

At 2:45 pm, 5Can54 is rising along with US natal Jupiter at the "6Can" degree--"Gamebirds feathering their nests."

Wish my intuition said otherwise, but the International Space Station is overhead to pluck out the feathers of the masses for lining those royal nests--and for reporting back to our Orwellian controllers with state-of-the-art spy technology.

Chart-ruler Moon 26AQ38 makes an applying conj to tr North Node--today is the US' Moon Return--with tr NN about to conjunct natal Moon. There will probably be quite a bit of publicity about this mission...but not in a negative way, I hope.

Today's Ceres ("security" in a national chart) is at 14Tau34, the degree of the Inaugural ASC each Jan 20, DC, noon = the office of the president.

The next and only other applying aspect made by today's launch Moon is a helpful and enabling sextile to...sneaky Pluto. See what I mean?

Mercury the Messenger gets fly-by from Messenger!

In a spree of mythological perfection, NASA has named its Messenger after the planet it intends to fly by today.

Either that or there's an astrologer in the bunch!

So where is Mercury in the zodiac as this "different approach" makes the news?

Setting the chart for Cape Canaveral, FL and putting Mercury, planet of communications, planning, and travel (esp air) at MC--the Goal/Aspiration Point of any chart--we see Mercury positioned at 10AQ25 (tropically speaking.)

Aquarius is associated, of course, with science (esp the modern, progressive kind), air travel, group projects, and humanity...and is the sign which contains the Angel Point (15AQ.)

Chiron, the Key and *Bridge between Saturn and Uranus, is approaching the Angel Point now as the Saturn/Uranus opposition becomes exact.

*Is Bush attempting to "play" Chiron, the Healer as he visits the Middle East? The combination of Saturn/Uranus and their cycle represents that region, particularly Palestine and Israel. But if Bush is an "angel" he's one of the dark ones. For in arrogant defiance of decency and love of humanity, he's over there calling for more war! That man can't get enough bombing, can he?

But let's go back to bright Mercury:

Click chart to enlarge and you will see two midpoints with Mercury as focal point (and thus is MC focal at 1:39:25 pm est) and they are:

Sun/NN (the public; new contacts; shared experiences; intellectual associations) = Mercury: communication; news; commentary.

Sun/NN = MC: becoming prominent through associations; fighting other people's battles.

Jupiter/Uranus (high expectations; deep respect for knowledge; breakthroughs; opportunities; long distance travel) = Mercury: planning on success; a series of fortunate breaks; confidence; gathering ample knowledge; ready wittedness; a fortunate occupational turn.

Jup/Uranus = MC: optimism; fortunate powers of adaptibility; attainment of good knowledge and understanding; becoming known for who one is.

Prospects sound good already for getting to know 'who' Mercury is!

This chart indicates that NASA willbe able to gather all the info they want on this hot, speedy little planet, and with Mercury at MC, the ASC degree is parallel the helpful Fixed Star, Arcturus, keywords: a different approach.

Today's fly-by is the first of three passes to Mercury-of-the-wing'ed-helmet-and-heel and I'm wishing them good speed and happy outcomes.

Yet! the chart has connections indicating the public's continued fascination with the presidential campaign today: Moon "11Ari": "The president of the country."

But with Mercury as my natal chart-ruler, I don't want to steal the Messenger's Uranian thunder today and I'm sure we'll be hearing communications from and about the candidates without a speck of prompting from me!

UPDATE: Messenger's closest approach to Mercury was to occur at 2:04:39 pm est. Setting another chart for that time at Laurel, MD (Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab) places idealistic (and perhaps deceptive or dissolving) Neptune at MC...

"20AQ" = "A big white dove, a message bearer"...keyword: CONVICTION...

pos: a facility for ordering all personal desires in a cosmic framework and a gift for knowing when to act and what to do;

neg: sanctimonious self-deception.

Check out the Mercury Messenger website where you can type in your city and find out the best time of day to look for Mercury--either just before sunrise or just after sunset--and keep up with the mission.

Guess Cheney owns the planet Mars

Because he's readying to drill for oil there with NASA as his enabler. Crazy. And if they break it, they sure won't be able to fix it, will they?

skywatching Endeavor

Space Weather News for Aug. 18, 2007

DOUBLE SPACESHIP FLYBYS: Space shuttle Endeavour is scheduled to undock from the International Space Station on Monday, August 20th. If that happens as planned, sky watchers across North America may be able to witness something rare and beautiful: a double-spaceship transit across the night sky. US cities favored for flybys on Aug. 20th or 21st include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Las Vegas, New York and Phoenix. The space station and shuttle will appear as separate, bright points of light moving in tandem. Flyby times depend on where you live.

Subscribers to SpaceWeatherPhone will receive phone and email alerts when the pair are about to appear. Flyby timetables are also available from Heavens Above.

BONUS: The International Space Station is under construction, and with each new addition the sprawling complex becomes easier to see from the ground. To the naked eye, the space station now resembles a super-bright star gliding slowly across the sky. Backyard telescopes reveal much more: solar panels, laboratories and living modules, a robotic arm and docked supply vessels.
