As Republican seditionists in the House continue holding the US Congress hostage and paralyzed, thus crippling lawmakers from doing "the people's business", you see below, lower left, a Horoscope of the January 6, 2021 'Mob Attack' (Trump's coup attempt: Capitol Building breached at 2:15 pm est) and the coup attempt's Solar Return 2023 Horoscope, upper right.

Oh and keywords for Castor? Crippling of limbs, and mental illness (how about neurosis: the irrationality of repeating actions over and over and expecting different results? Yet the House logjam has to break at some point, right?). Here we find that Castor opposes (challenges) Rukbat, star of steadiness and strength, in governmental Capricorn:

As Kevin McCarthy has fallen short of the required number of votes to catapult him into the Speaker of the House position since Tuesday January 3, 2022, planets have continued along their courses. Today at noon the Republicans and Democrats will assemble once again on Capitol Hill and votes will be cast and tallied, perhaps with the very same outcomes as on Day 1 and Day 2, and no Speaker will be chosen. If so, no business can be conducted, no oaths of office will be sworn, and Republicans can congratulate themselves (and Tr*mp) that the Biden administration is somehow being hornswaggled in the GOP's "own the libs" kind of way.

Astrologically, there are several reflections of such studied incompetence in the sky over our heads but one that seems significant is that transit Mars, of late its perigee condition close to Earth, heated, and retrograde, continues its activation of US 1776 Uranus (8Gem55), America's totem planet of independence and revolution. The Mars-Uranus combination suggests unstable conditions such as anarchy, revolt, and incendiary potentials, and as you remember, their last real-time conjunction occurred on Inauguration Day 2021 @6Tau44.

This cosmic time link directly reveals this week's political highjinks acted out by House Republicans (or 10% of them, the so-called "Freedom Caucus") as one of their motives against President Biden, as noted.

Meanwhile, political pundits are saying that this week's stalemate makes the GOP "look bad" (it does) yet it's the harm seditionists are doing to our country that's my primary concern. After all, the Republican Party already looked bad, and I consider this clown car exercise to be a continuation of their January 6th coup attempt. And unfortunately, misguided Midterm voters let the seditionists inside the House! This week's antics begin their beguine and it promises little if any better for the next two years the toddlers misrule and show their anti-governing, anti-democracy ideology.

Then if we look for Kevin McCarthy's travails more specifically in today's noon horoscope set for the Capitol Building, we might consider the applying inconjunct between the Moon @1Cancer (females like Boebert) in 3rd house of Communications (00Cancer = the world is watching!) and 10th house Venu$ in early Aquarius indicating someone making too many concesssions in an attempt to be liked and approved of. Thing is, bribes are involved as well as one motive behind such zealous activities; this suggests what McCarthy has promised his wayward members as well as money and favors paid to the Never Kevin voters - pay-offs from outside sources intended to undermine the legitimacy of the US Congress. Note that today's position of lawmaking planet Saturn @23AQ has a curious Sabian Symbol, "A Big Bear Sitting Down and Waving All Its Paws." And you know which country is represented by The Bear.

Another factor is Mercury, planet of speaking and voting. In governmental Capricorn, but retrograde, Mercury turns direct on January 18, 2023 @8Cap08 so surely a Speaker of the House will be elected around or by then!

Well, there are plenty more factors of interest in today's noon horoscope but with my real-world scene busy today, my typing time is brief so I'll leave it for the curious to investigate.

2023 Eclipses yet a bit of Cosmic Relief

As Above, So Below: Year 2023

As astrologers know, upon occasion, a year is devoid of Great Conjunctions between planets Jupiter through Pluto so that current planetary cycles and energies can carry on as-is, at least affording societies a sense of stabilization, however minor or temporary. This doesn't mean that during a conjunction-free year all conditions are positive, of course, and variations still alternate and morph into new conditions, but there is some sense of relief from new cycles of combined planetary energies suddenly adjusting our lives with their strong influences.

Such a year is 2023

Previously, the Great Jupiter-Neptune Conjunction perfected @23Pis59 on April 12, 2022 with all the speculation, grand schemes, bubbles, and fraudulent or fantastic tales the pair can bring - and in shady Pisces, sign of contagion, confusion, creativity, dreams - and spirituality. Negatively, hypocrisy has become a go-to for many operatives of the political class, while scandals, losses, deception, and political conflicts have only increased. Significantly, visions may have positive or negative implications for society and for me, fascist and nazi "visions" are ill winds of brutality and violence which must be redirected away from the shores and institutions of our democratic Republic, America.

And of course, Midterms 2022 brought a Lunar Eclipse conjunct Uranus (16Tau+) along with more voters in favor of democracy and preferring a moderate path for our country, but with one major exception: Republicans managed to finagle a measure of control of the 118th Congress via the House of Representatives. Therefore, major wastes of time, money, and energy will begin in Congress on January 3, 2023 as congressional J6 conspirators attempt to shield their treasonous culpability and justify their anti-constitutional intentions. Foolish legal situations will continue to be used by the guilty as delaying tactics against justice.

Then the next Great Conjunction will occur between Jupiter and Uranus @21Tau50 on April 21, 2024 with its breakthrough energies containing potentials in the realms of science, health, technology, even finances. Look for opportunities, inventions, changes of destiny, optimistic outlooks, and successful speculation, but there are also chances for new or revised religious and/or philosophical conflicts, zealotry, and stubborn adherence to one-sided views. No change there! Still, a visionary Great American Eclipse occurs April 8, 2024 @20Aries with its path of totality splitting our country from the Southwest to the Northeast. Meanwhile, another cosmic factor enters the 2023 picture: solar and lunar eclipses with their disruptive, Uranian ability to trigger changes of course, and scandals due to sudden revelations of inconvenient facts coming to light. For as you know, no year on Earth can escape effects from the Uranian 'wild cards of the Universe' so here's a list of all 2023 eclipses in order of occurrence:

1. April 20, 2023 Solar Eclipse @29Ari50 in the 7 North Saros Series, which on February 24, 1933 manifested as the 'Fascism Rising Eclipse' @5Pis29. This I have labeled as a "blood lust" eclipse due to its theme of deep passion (B. Brady) and current events of barbarism, brutality, and thuggery now sweeping the globe and assaulting democracy. Note that transit Saturn will hit this degree in late April and early May 2023, and into early 2024, signifying people who are capable of carrying out the themes of the 7 North Eclipse - or attempting to.

Notably, Saturn in Pisces implies struggles with opponents (R. Ebertin), and additionally, in 2023 this eclipse forms a cosmic time link with warrior planet Mars' position during the MAGA insurrection/coup attempt of January 6, 2021 which adds to the need for close scrutiny of militant white nationalist groups during early 2023 and beyond. Hopefully, our protective agencies are better prepared for armed uprisings, just in case - especially since this repetition of a 7 North eclipse qualifies as a 'birthday eclipse' for Herr Adolf - and people who now "work toward the take-over goals of Herr Adolf" are aware of this. In fact, time-keeper Saturn conjunct the 7N eclipse of 1933 is a cosmic signpost for those who care to read it.

2. May 5, 2023 Lunar Eclipse @14Sco58: more uncoverings and leaks! Meanwhile, we must continue keeping an eye on the radical planet of anarchy, Uranus in Taurus, and the upheavals, shifts, separations (Uranus) and intolerance (Taurus) it reflects within the financial, technological, earthly and environmental realms.

3. October 14, 2023 Solar Eclipse @21Libra in the 7 South Saros Series; 7 South eclipse themes include forceful Mars-Pluto square energies, plus, potentials for 'pending crises' to rush through our lives, yet obstacles can suddenly clear (B. Brady). Results are unpredictable.

4. October 28, 2023 Lunar Eclipse @5Taurus closes the list of 2023 eclipses by spotlighting potentials for the positive and negative traits of Venus-ruled Taurus such as steadiness, growth, durability, and reliability; negatively, traits such as bullheadedness, intolerance, and greed will continue to be expressed by the anti-societal folk for whom the common good means nothing.

So there it is. Hopefully, this first post of 2023 will be handy in some way for those who prefer democracy over tyranny!

118th Congress: Jupiter and Algol Rise

When the Republican Party formed in 1854, did the founders consider themselves a death cult in the making? Probably not, yet that's how far-right insurrection-leaning members and QAnon coup enthusiasts can be described these days especially after Tr*mp's attempted overthrow of the US government on January 6, 2021. Of course, the party's close financial-and-ideological relationship to the NRA resonates well with the Republicans' violence and drastic measures they take and advocate (the NRA, a 'death axis' Mars-Saturn affair - in Capricorn, no less).

So below you'll find a link to the 118th Congress' Horoscope/s of the new session gaveling in on January 3, 2023 with Republicans (mis)leading the House of Representatives. Well, members of death cults do not represent this particular American, in the House or anywhere else, how about you?

Now previously appearing on SO'W is the horoscope of the first public January 6th Select Committee Hearing where we find 1Ari26 conjunct IC, or the Foundation or Basis of the 8:00 pm edt Public Hearing (remember the hearing was held in "prime time"). Planet of politics, finance, and religion, Jupiter, was then @5Ari04 (4th house) with veiling, mystical Neptune @25Pis21 in 3rd house and conjunct the Pluto-North-Node midpoint (attaining power through force). A cosmic link to this 2021 Hearing horoscope and the Jupiter-Neptune pair of grand schemes, speculation, inflation, and fraud turn up in the 118th Congress Horoscope when we set it for January 3, 2023 at 11:27 am est.

Why 11:27 am on January 3rd?

For the symbolism of expansive Jupiter rising at that moment over Capitol Hill along with the malevolent, enraged, and violent fixed star Algol, asteroid Nemesis (the unbeatable foe), and the Anti-Vertex (similar to an Ascendant, a What? point) - all at 1Aries+ this degree points toward the first public J6 hearing as the Basis of House Republicans' mad efforts to fight back against their own cupability - even though their sabotaging activities on January 6th were plain for all to see on TV. As you know, back in the day, 'fascism' and 'Nazism' were death cults as was the "America First" movement, and as is the regeneration of that movement now under figurehead Tr*mp whose star seems to be fading - or under the next cult leader the Republicans nominate for the 2024 campaign. And astrologically, it looks as if Florida's Ron DeSantis might carry off the golden goose for the GOP.

So if you have a chance, dear reader, set up a horoscope of this lamentable cosmic circumstance of increased (Jupiter) malevolent (Algol) enemies (Nemesis) as a symbolic Horoscope of the 118th Congress with revenge on the Republican House's menu and two years of a far-right (far-reich) political circus the American populace must struggle through while "the people's business" will be all but ignored, and has been made, it seems, a thing of the past if "own the libs" Republicans have their way. These barbaric totalitarians and saboteurs really are aiming directly at Election 2024, you know.

Then there's one more curious cosmic synchronicity for those who prefer a 5:09/10 pm horoscope for America's founding (July 4, 1776): the January 3, 2023 pile-up of Jupiter-Algol-Nemesis-Anti-Vertex (rising or not) lands upon the IC/Foundation of the 1776 chart set for 5:09/10 pm LMT with IC @00Ari53 (conjunct the Aries Point of World Events), for when rounded up to "1Aries" the word picture provides a descriptive Sabian Symbol suitable for the basis of our nation's founding: "A Woman Has Arisen Out of the Ocean, a Seal Is Embracing Her" (one from the many!).

And that, of course, refers to America's Great Seal with its esoteric symbols, mysterious reverse side - and the pyramid of power with the all-seeing eye. If America's ultimate destiny is of interest to anyone, that is.

Mark Meadows: Saturn in Capricorn

Below is a view of the 'noon' natal chart of Trump's former White House Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows.

As you see, the December 23, 2022 New Moon @1Cap33 landed upon his natal Saturn Rx, planet of government, authority, responsibility, and accountability, and with New Moons often acting Uranian and disruptive like a solar eclipse, this suggests that Meadows is under scrutiny with inconvenient facts coming to light thanks to the J6 Committee investigation, and that he was in a position of authority with a responsibility to carry out the directives of his boss, the orange insurrectionist, whose plan to sabotage democracy Mr. Meadows fully supported:

And here's a nostalgic view of the Pentagon's founding horoscope (April 29, 1942) with its war-waging, out-of-bounds Mars in Moon-ruled Cancer (touchy!) at apex of two difficult midpoints: ruthless Saturn-Pluto and fanatical Uranus-Pluto, creating both brutal and intense conditions.

Additionally, snugged around this particular view of the Pentagon 1942 chart is the DC Horoscope of the 12 North Solar Eclipse of January 15, 2010 (@25Cap01, in the highly sensitized area of governmental/legal Capricorn which includes US Pluto Return, a three-fer due to planetary retrogradation).

As for America's years of out-of-this-world amounts of defense spending, we might consider Capricorn eclipses for their negative implications of ruler Saturn: avarice and selfishness which impede karmic progress and identify the imperative to adhere to conservative Saturn's demands for self-control, conscientiousness, sober thinking, and self-discipline when it comes to financial investments (rather than clearing out the National Treasury - and all the while promoting austerity for the masses).

Our Constitutional Saturn: The Law and Authority

Below is a bi-wheel showing the US Constitution Horoscope of 1787 in center and the document's Saturn Return of January 2023 Horoscope, outer (#3 Return of 3), with a few astro-notes penned thereupon.

Q: Will the 3rd of three Saturn Returns to the US Constitution result in some measure of resolution of the years-long campaign by anti-constitutionalists to reform its principles which were established under the inspiration of an applying Saturn-Neptune trine (see note in the center of the bi-wheel)?

Well, this particular American prefers to keep the document as-is rather than allow it to go under the knives of its enemies.

Meanwhile, I'm happy to report that there is good news! For certain influences upon the Constitution shown by the previous and recently expired Saturn Return of 1993 (horoscope, below) have ended as of April 16, 2022 (#1 of 3 Returns; #2 = July 25, 2022; #3 is the January 10, 2023 horoscope shown, below), bringing the US an extended period of new conditions now in process of forming since 1993 - with a lot less Trump, as you can see, because also ending are direct influences of the planetary contacts from the natal chart and psyche of the anti-democracy, orange-hued Donald J. Trump whose mojo is fading, as many political pundits now agree. For as you see below, Herr T's natal planets are 'all over' the March 1, 1993 Return chart, with the blighter's planets highlighted in pink (because bullies are cowards).

But first, take a look at the bi-wheel of the US Constitution (center: September 17, 1787; Campion chart #377) surrounded by the January 10, 2023 Saturn Return Horoscope to 23AQ22:25 which is number three of three current Returns, as noted:

A Smattering of Historical Context: 1993 and 2006/07

Above is the previous Saturn Return to 23AQ22:25 which occurred once on March 1, 1993 (with transit Pluto square 1787/1993 Saturn: abuse of authority challenged as scofflaw Trump's dubious authority has certainly been). Plus, US Constitution's Saturn is basically in opposition to Herr T's natal Mars (26Leo) across the self-will axis (Leo-AQ) which suggests obstacles and legal blockages to his aggressive actions along with major gridlock potentially caused by his mistakes, plus, lack of help by those around him.

Additionally significant and issuing from the 1993 Return chart is that the 'reaping rewards for past actions' transit of Saturn opposing its 1787 (and 1993) positions have occurred three times since 1993: the first on October 23, 2006 on into 2007. Here's a revealing photo published by TIME Magazine and dated October 27, 2006 (Chronocrator Saturn, ruler of Time) taken of VP Cheney, an authority figure, rallying the troops at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, a stealth bomber on display in the background. That's "Whiteman."

So as you know, 2006 is the year that US 1776 Mars (@23Gemini) turned retrograde by progression (@17Libra - conjunct Trump's stationary Jupiter) and the Bush-Cheney administration managed to "break" or weaken the US military via preemptive war in sandy places where our troops did not belong - despite what the US Constitution says about Congress' authority to wage war. So those two Republican chuckleheads and their PNAC pals assaulted the Constitution, too, so that US soldiers were used as endless cannon fodder for old bald men with corporate mindsets waging war for the sake of plunder. Feel free to disagree, but there it is.
