Scorpio Full Moon at midnight with YOD pattern 5. 9.09

Full Moon 18Sco41, 12:01:22 am edt, White House, Washington DC, USA, the Universe.

Hour of the Moon (in Fall in Scorpio as was the Inaugural 2009 Moon, the people); Rising is 9Cap27 conjunct a difficult Fixed Star Facies, ruthlessness or the victim - and no, I don't care much for the implications in this chart and had to fuss at myself to get me to publish it.

There is a YOD pattern (Finger of God) indicating a special purpose or task for the apex or focal planet to perform - in this case the recently-turned Mercury which is still on its Rx degree 1Gem35 in 5th house of Risk-Taking, Gambling, Creativity, Children and Romance. YODs are also indicators of crisis or a critical point in a situation.

Can little Rx Mercury, though happy in its own sign of communicator Gemini, handle intense Pluto, planet of publishing, untold wealth, and secret manipulations? Is there any 'good news' to be had? Will it need to be retracted later when Mercury turns Direct and moves forward past its shadow degree?

5th cusp, however, is in Taurus (27:09) giving Mercury 1Gem35 more resonance with the 6th house of Work, Health, Service, Servants, and the Military - than with the 5th house because Mercury has 'no outlet' in this chart's 5th house. And 5th cusp is conj a couple of violent stars, with Mercury conj Mirfak (Alpha Perseus: young male energy; challenge-oriented ) so Mercury's puer eternus = eternal youth status is underscored by its Gemini placement and strengthened at Rx station; its message-bringing qualities are much in evidence although under tremendous pressure from controlling Pluto and career and world transformation considerations (MC.)

The Rx condition may also emphasize Mercury's 'no outlet' status because it signifies delays and re-dos or reviews of Mercurial things such as paperwork, agreements, promises and things said, speeches, contracts, plans, deals (especially involving Commerce), and vehicle issues. Naturally I think of the auto industry and trade agreements in particular; 'broken campaign promises' are being remarked upon as well - and Mercury's station trines Inaugural 2009 Mercury in Aquarius...which was also Rx (Pres Obama's second oath-taking, as you know, a re-do, just in case.)

The YOD pattern that I'm allowing involves Midheaven (MC), the Aspiration Point of any chart, so a midpoint picture is formed which I've scribbled on the chart (click to enlarge) but will type for you here...

Pluto/MC = Mercury: a person with great powers of suggestion; scientific fame or recognition; thinking big; planning.

I say 'allowed' because not everyone would use a YOD unless there were three planets at each point, but I think an Angle (or Node) tied in with the propaganda duo, Mercury and Pluto, gives them a soapbox (Mc) on which to practice their wiles and broadcast to the world.

And of course, Pluto the Publisher may be at odds with Mercury the Reporter...or they have a very special task to perform together in spite of difficulties and adjustments.

The chart also contains a T-square pattern which gives the opposition between Sun and Moon an outlet for their 'dance'; an opposition always points to relationships and/or partnerships; Sun (male) and Moon (female) may show action in the romantic department (husband/wife) but also a competition between conscious (Sun) and unconscious (Moon) forces.

Health-conscious Saturn 14Vir58 Rx had acted as a Thales Point (to 'soften' the opposition) but the Old Man is now beyond orb. He is, however, the chart-ruler and makes only one applying aspect (how things will proceed) to a planet - an inconjunct to Mars, strong in rambunctious Aries, and in 3rd house of Communications, and Mars in 3rd also relates to vehicles.


Sun/Moon = Jupiter: success; desire for joint endeavors, wealth, and possessions.

And Jupiter is in 2nd house of Money, Earning Ability, and Values, with Sun and Moon falling across the 4/10 axis of Security, Home, Career, and Public Status; financial matters are necessarily on the menu.


Let Us Mosey Back to the YOD, the Mars/Saturn inconjunct, and the midnight Full Moon in spooky Scorpio:

Inconjuncts (or quincunxes, if you prefer) show that major adjusments are needed - the same with the two inconjs forming the YOD pattern which is 'pointing' at Mercury.

This Mars is easy for Saturn to intimidate; it's difficult to determine who's responsible for what; there are problems fulfilling the desires of Mars without being destroyed in the process. (The astrological Mars represents males between the approximate ages of 25 - 35; perhaps we'll hear of more veterans' healthcare issues such as lack of payment, etc, and Arian explorers come to mind.)

There is a possibility of emotional blackmail being used with Mars inconj Saturn, and physical injury may be indicated along with scientific (Saturn) concerns.

Now as you know, Full Moon phases are the culmination of something begun 2 weeks prior at the New Moon (5Tau04 - here in 4th house, so Real Estate and/or Mining may be highlighted by this Full Moon.) The polarity of the 2/8 axis of Resources, Values, and Money is being emphasized particularly with the Sun/Moon midpoint 18AQ41 conj 8th cusp.

'18AQ' recalls the Solar 'Unmasking' Eclipse of Feb 7, 2008 for the Sabian Symbol for '18AQ' is 'A Man Being Unmasked.'

No one's true motives will stay hidden forever, no matter what shady operatives and brigands may think. Plus,'18AQ' is the degree of Ronald Reagan's natal Sun and is sometimes referred to as the 'end of progress' degree.

Brady's Predictive Astrology gives the 10 North Series as relating strongly to communications, frustrating or inhibiting events arriving bwo news, paperwork, or a young person (Mercury!); there may be tired, drained feelings that make it necessary to slow down the pace. Working quietly and carefully are the best solutions.

'18AQ' is considered a sensitive degree for the US so I think that issues from around Feb 7, 2007 may come back to haunt someone or will need further dealing with in some way. Eclipse influences do wane, of course, but this degree is always up for a good triggering...and there's Mercury Rx to bring things back to the surface more than once (Rx.)

Now what was I saying about apex Mercury?

Well, for starters, this Mercury has an overwhelming sense of duty and is determined to complete all assignments; there's great persistence and thoroughness with this rather compulsive-obsessive energy and the Rx quality is stressful. Yes, Mercury is driving itself awfully hard here which may result in a bitter 'rode hard put up wet' feeling; these can be entrapped fellows which dishonest people take advantage of.

Mercury's apex quality in a YOD denotes one who needs to gather all loose ends and disjointed concepts before it can best develop its considerable intellectual faculties; conscious preparation is a requirement, and superfluous details must be consciously ignored even though there's a compulsion to seek more information than can be comfortably handled or understood.

The need is for consistency, thoroughness, and greater efficiency, and if well-managed, apex Mercury can operate in a very urposeful way and have a greater impact on others especially in a specialized field of study or discipline.

The role of master communicator, influential teacher, and/or social enlightener describes the task of this apex Mercury.

And the base of the YOD, the Pluto/MC sextile (60 degr) is even more intriguing. Notes on Pluto sextile Mc are taken from Alan Epstein's excellent 'Understanding Aspects' series, The Sextile.


The challenge of this sextile is to delegate authority without losing control of the project, yet the tendency is to insist that all be done Pluto's way based on 'his' decisions which, once made, are seldom if ever reversed. Pluto's can-do nature and coping ability is strong along with a deep analytical capacity.

Complete control of finances combines with a need to maintain credibility and reputation at all costs; one's position and status must be defended. Pluto sextile Mc may remind you of a boss you once had - one who holds on to detailed information in order to keep the reins of power in his hands and so that his decisions won't be challenged.

A concern with the future is a driving force and he will go it alone if no one supports him in his plans. He often does not trust the information given to him and double-checks sources. This aspect may be found in certain careers in particular: publishers, entrepreneurs and business executives, financial wizards, researchers, physicians, and the field of psychology or psychiatry.

And Pluto is said to signify the 'secret hand', a select few elites who control or attempt to manipulate the world to their liking.

That there are people at the top of a power pyramid (which some say may be seen in the symbol of the all-seeing eye of Horus floating above a pyramid on back of the US dollar bill - turn one over if you have one) seems a given to me, but perhaps you disagree.

That top dogs of any stripe let knowledge of their true intentions trickle down to underlings (who then control parts of the plan) echoes this sextile between Pluto in controlling Capricorn and the obsessive Scorpio Midheaven...all pointing to Mercury Rx in Gemini, sign of the communicator.

Is Obama a hawk in sheep's clothing?

In a persuasive article John Pilger asserts that Barack Obama is a hawk and an expansionist in the Democratic Party tradition - and Pilger gives examples with dates and expansionist statements from the Democratic candidate.

As I've blabbed previously, Obama wouldn't be in the prez race at all or have a much-hyped 'candidacy' if he weren't playing the game by Washington's rules.

But just whose tune Washington dances to is anyone's guess.

Even so, I'll be voting for him because I'd barf if I had to pull a lever for any Republican, yet we may as well know what we're about to be disappointed by...a hawk in sheep's clothing, as I term it.

And if the Obama campaign's recent surfacing of his birth certificate with its "7:24 pm" birth time is correct (and some say it's a forgery - I presume to hide his true birth place, as the argument goes) then his natal Ascendant (which represents his nibs himself - his rising sign and degree) is 18AQ03 which is the February Solar Eclipse degree just past, the "A Man Unmasked" degree.

Well, his opponents keep trying to unmask him but so far not much has stuck, esp with mainstream media's collusion, of course!

And perhaps the candidate or one of his handlers knew enough about Astrology's uses to keep his birth data veiled for privacy or other reasons.

Ronald Reagan did much the same, yet all the while keeping an astrologer on the payroll.

Then there's our current Solar Eclipse of August 1 at 9Leo32 which affects his natal chart (or supposed natal chart) as well with its "finding a space to more options - the cosmos shows a solution" flavor.

Actually, Eclipse degrees may in the end be a small part of confirming his birth date and time as more chart rectification takes place using event-timing and so forth. Use of appropriate Sabian Symbols is very helpful with rectification work, too.

Whatever the truth about Barack Obama, he certainly seems to be the man of the hour with John McCain looking pale and tired by comparison. Plus, the recent biopsy Band-aid on McCain's face was untimely and didn't help the old white-haired dude in the least.

Sheesh! maybe I'll just write-in for Paris Hilton after all, now that McCain has given her candidacy a grand boost.

Bush: another Let's Blame Congress press conference

Criticism must be getting through the White House bubble!

Bush is on TV now in his second Press Conference of 2008, and contentious Mars 24Can36 is rising, plus, there's a full 8th house of Shared Resources, 10:31 am edt, White House. Rain is on the way.

Just before Bush began, Tim Russert said Bush has to try to get out in front of the issues, and I guess he is - whining at Congress whose fault he says it is that his administration hasn't done more for the American people who are having trouble affording food and fuel prices.

Mars is now in bounds of the earthly plane and conjunct America's natal Mercury today at the "A Leader of Men Wrapped in an Invisible Mantle of Power" degree which has an abuse of power flavor when negatively used (Lynda Hill, 360 Degrees of Wisdom.)

Lynda also mentions this degree as relating to having the weight of the world on one's shoulders (white-haired Bush's performance this morning is an angry temper tantrum, imo) and there's a sense of "can do no wrong" (it's not me, it's Congress, see!) with "25Can."

Sun 9Tau38 is conj asteroid Hygeia and the Part of the Mother which makes me wonder about Bar's health or simply Bush drinking again (his n Sun in emotionally touchy, self-protective Cancer), and Mercury (whose Hour it is) is at 24Tau10 and conj nasty Capulus, keywords: turbulence, blindness, strong feelings; male sexual energy; penetrating and focused action. )Brady's Book of Fixed Stars.)

The last Solar Eclipse 17AQ45, the Unmasking Eclipse, is within 8th house as he began speaking along with Chiron, Moon 21AQ30, nebulous Neptune 24AQ03, and North Node (NN), a public contact point.

Moon is chart-ruler and will square Mercury, then conj Neptune which is lumbering inexorably toward the US natal Moon (the people) at 25 - 28 AQ, depending on which USA chart you prefer. To me this indicates (as related to the reception of this press conference) that Bush's announcement/words (Mercury) will block (square) the people (Moon), then culminate in fraud and falsehood (Neptune)toward the people...or a quicker way to put it: deception and illusions to the people.

But then, all US presidents have thought they had to lie to us...not for our protection as much as to keep themselves in office, out of court or jail, and to get themselves re-elected, if possible. It's the self-serving model rather than the people-serving template.

So Mars is now beyond opposition with moneybags Jupiter 22Cap13, and Venus 28Ari49 (values, money, relationship) in 10th house at 10:31 am, is conj the Part of Fortune (Pars Fortuna.) Bush is now exalting John McCain as his successor because he understands the "war of terror."


This full 8th house reminds me of Bush's first Inauguration chart of Jan 20, 2001, when he began his tenure of running America into the ground and over the cliff. (There were many such presidents before him. Manipulating the unwashed masses is quite a process, or as Dubya might term it, it's hard werk.)

11:00 am, Bush, "I believe they (Congress) are letting the American people down" in relation to FISA..."this economy, it's a sour time," free trade agreement with Columbia - it's all about complaining at Congress for not rubberstamping his plans to sell us out even faster - kicking the Columbian can down the road and deflecting criticism from his administration.

So Bush "has to try to get out in front" by glopping passage of fascist FISA with the dubiously helpful Columbian free trade pact and he's the poor little president in the middle who's trying So Hard to help out the "average" American.

Just say yes to Anwar, people! And your fuel problems will disappear a la George.

Bear Stearns waving all its paws

Well, the markets in the US took a break Friday in honor of Easter so it will be interesting to see what transpires Monday on Wall Street, that enclave of Jupiter-Neptune types (speculators; wastrels.)

Meanwhile, I got around to writing a bit concerning Bear Stearns and Neptune's dissolution, if you'd care to take a peek.

With the current visit of moneybags Jupiter to the NWO degree (Uranus conj Neptune, 1993) of 18Cap, it's all of a piece, my peops, and there's quite a complicated mystery play being performed on the world stage with innocents (the common man) in the middle of a gigantic chess game whose stakes are world domination.

NYSE's Friday break was hardly spiritually based but certainly a convenient breather for someone, one assumes.

We're now in the 10 North Series from Feb 6 which conjuncts the Unmasking degree, plus, the 10 South Eclipse is on the horizon for Aug 1 at "10Leo"--and this is the Prenatal Eclipse Series of John McCain which may be perfect timing for the November elections for Senator McCain.

Space Weather News for Feb. 5, 2008

SOLAR ECLIPSE: This Thursday, Feb. 7th, the Moon will pass in front of the Sun, producing a solar eclipse over New Zealand, most of Antarctica and parts of Australia. It is not a total eclipse; the Moon will only partially cover the solar disk. Nevertheless, the event promises some beautiful moments.

For instance, the partially-eclipsed Sun will dapple the ground with crescent-shaped sunbeams. Observers in New Zealand and Australia should look in the shadows of leafy trees for this lovely phenomenon. On the barren slopes of Antarctica, scientists and explorers can produce the same effect by letting the sun shine through a spaghetti colander or a sheet of paper poked with holes.

It is dangerous to stare directly at a partial eclipse because the exposed portion of the Sun is as blindingly bright as usual. Backyard astronomers with safely-filtered solar telescopes may, however, point their optics at the Sun and watch the mountainous lunar limb glide across the sun's fiery surface. The best views of all are reserved for an remote stretch of the Antarctic where the Moon will pass dead-center in front of the Sun without fully covering it. A thin layer of star will poke out all around the Moon producing a vivid "ring of fire" or annular eclipse.

"Unmasking" Eclipse Feb 6, 2008

Here is the chart for the Solar Eclipse of Feb 6, 2008, set for the White House, 10:44:27 pm est.

Eclipse is in 4th house, the Foundation of the chart and representing the Domestic Scene, Home, Homeland (in this case), the White House itself, and the End of the Matter. The 4/10 axis is the Security Axis. In the US natal chart (Sibly) this Eclipse falls in the 2nd house of Earning Ability, Possessions, and Values.

~~UPDATE 3.22.08: the Eclipse in 4th House--the subprime housing fiasco is ongoing as Bear Stearns is bailed out by the Fed, a NWO plan that will be underwritten by the hoodwinked US taxpayer.~~

It's being called the Unmasking Eclipse (by yours truly) because it occurs on the "18AQ" degree, Sabian Symbol: "A man unmasked."

From The Sabian Symbols in Astrology (Dr. Marc Edmund Jones) we see the keyword for "18AQ": ANALYSIS...

pos: a considered dedication to greater or more wonderful reasons for being;

neg/unconscious/shadow side: self-betrayal through exceptional ineptitude.

This is a symbol of the human mind's illimitable power for penetrating into the deeper stirrings and underlying motivations of human nature, and of a very modern determination to gain a scientific mastery of every psychological process.

Here is a repudiation of all individualism as other than the common divisions of labor in social reality, and a demand that each person make a public accounting of himself whenever the general welfare requires it. Life becomes a laboratory for an immortal curiosity.

In her book on the Symbols, 360 Degrees of the Zodiac, Australian astrologer, Lynda Hill, gives "18AQ" as: "A man being unmasked at a masquerade" and gives keywords as:

secret motives exposed; facing the truth about oneself or others; being able to see through characters and trickery; wearing a 'mask' that suits the situation (campaign 2008?); dropping pretense; stripping away cover-ups (oh goody!); aliases; the desire for authenticity.

Lynda always gives 'Cautions' for each degree...

"18AQ": detrimentally revealing yourself too quickly or too early; being found out to be a fraud; finding unwelcome answers; charades; pretense and ploys to manipulate; layers of deception discovered; lies; assumed identities.

Ah! good reasons to set this Eclipse for the White House. Charades, masquerades, and campaigns with their annoying and bogus debates--as candidates argue past one another and threads of reasoning end nowhere and with no one the wiser.

Naturally this Eclipse's influence will be in effect until the next Solar Eclipse of Aug 1, 2008--the Series in which the 2008 (s)election takes place.

frustrating or inhibiting events concerning paperwork, news, or a young person; strong emphasis on communication; people may feel tired and drained and it's time to take things quietly and work through difficulties one at a time.

One feature of the Eclipse chart which I've highlighted (click to enlarge chart) is the off-and-on-again Quindecile (165 degrees) aspect of obsession-compulsion between societal Saturn and nebulous Neptune (fraud; crooks; spirituality) so we have: deception within societal leadership; idealism dissolves old systems; rigid structure disappears; dreams become reality.

Of course some people's dreams may be other men's grim realities.

You may notice that Neptune is triggerng the Mars/Asc midpoint by opposition...

Mars/Asc = Neptune: withdrawal as an option (a candidate withdraws? surely not the US from Iraq while Bush is infesting the White House); out of the mainstream (a typical, if tiresome, political complaint esp if you consider what the self-styled 'mainstreamers' have wrought); maintaining one's position only with great difficulty; disharmony in working together.

There are all sorts of political and campaign levels to this picture. We'll see.

And there's Pluto at World Point 00Cap21, a much-discussed topic online--toss your mouse and you should find many articles on the subject...with Capricorn the sign of politics, law, and business. Eventually, America will have her first-ever Pluto Return (fall from power? or rededication to it?) and it will be a three-fer, all in the year 2022:

Feb 20; July 11 (Rx); and Dec 28.

A few of the 'Cautions' which Lynda Hill gives for Pluto's "28Cap" are: false sense of freedom (sounds familiar); mental confusion brings lack of discernment; peace, harmony, privacy are hard to find (yep); abandoned living spaces; too much chatter with not much being achieved.

Thing about America's Pluto is that when the presidential Inaugurals were moved from early March to January 20--as of FDR's second Inauguration, Jan 20, 1937-- it permanently placed US Pluto conjunct Inaugural MC (MC= Aspirations, Objectives, Goals.) Marked in red is a Grand Trine between the Eclipse (plus Neptune and NN, with NN conj US n Moon, the people), Mars 24Gem24 in 9th house of Education; Foreign Enemies; Philosophy and Religion), and the ASC of the chart.

Yet my pc, IE, and isp are all crashing left and right today--it's taken hours to get this post this far along, so I'll skedaddle for now and refer to this chart later on...for after all, chart-ruler Venus 17Cap01 is applying to the NWO degree, "18Cap" and you know how I love to grouse about their "smug and strong-armed paternalism"...and the Unmasking Eclipse may be turn out to be helpful as we listen to the promises and assertions of candidates 2008.

Pluto to Venus: seeking greater power; circumstances may cause stark confrontations concerning values, principles, and priorities (!) and attempts to gain others' cooperation turn into power struggles.

Pluto to Jupiter: seeking to gain greater power and influence in economic and political realms; total honesty required; danger of intolerance and fanaticism.

At 1:00 pm (time of the above quote), the IC/Foundation Point of the chart was 5Can19(US natal Jupiter) with Pluto conjunct. At 1:00 pm, a YOD (Finger of God; special task or purpose; crisis) formed with MC; Jupiter (4Gem23 Rx) and Neptune (6Leo47 Rx--also conj US n NN) sextile...

Jupiter/Neptune = MC: a visionary; a speculator, philanthropist, spendthrift, or squanderer; harm or damage through thoughtlessness.

This means that Rx Pluto had been conjuncting America's natal Venus and n Jupiter and deepening the financial situation and promoting power expansions. Venus/Pluto contacts can indicate riches--or bankruptcy, and Jupiter has his obvious connection to money and increase with Pluto, the dragon, guarding the hidden treasure.

Now it's 2007--and war is still being used shamelessly to spark economies and make mega-millions for the greedy. The current woes of Wall Street are ripples from the attacks of 9/11, and from corruption and fraud. And thus we see the chickenhawk war machine grinding on and on.

Oh! and spendthrifts rule Washington--as long as they can spend other people's money, that is.
