Trump Inauguration 2017's Solar Return 2018

Although there is some level of uncertainty that Donald Trump will remain in the White House until January 20, 2018, here is the Solar Return 2018 horoscope of his Inauguration 2017 chart showing Sun (POTUS) @00AQ49, its precise position on that presidential oath-taking moment on January 20, 2017 at noon est Capitol Building, Washington DC:

As you see, the Sun returns to its 2017 position on January 20, 2018 at 5:45:08 pm est--not in its oath-taking Angular 10th house position but in the Cadent 6th house position. As chart-ruler (ASC 7Leo37) Solar Return 2018 Sun has no applying aspects which emphasizes its sign (AQ) and house position, the 6th house of Health, Work (Employment), Military-Police-Civil Services, along with Trump's Daily Rounds (of golf?) Venus @3AQ36, Pluto @19Cap27, and Mercury @13Cap43 are in 6th house as well, however, the SR Sun's 6th house position, plus no solar application, suggests a self-contained man which is also shown by the BOWL shape of planets lead by Jupiter @19Sco56--self-contained and feeling 'cut off' from life's experiences. (This may hint that he misses his former life more than ever.)

It seems that the actors (planets) in Return 2018 6th house are 'with' Trump--but are they really?

Well, obviously, a full Return 6th house emphasizes the concerns and topics of this Material house of preparation, fluctuation, and transition via plans which lurk in the background until a later date or come to fruition later--possibly not until the onset of SR 2019 (C. Teal). SR Sun in 6th house spotlights the usual 6th house matters, as noted, above, yet with Pluto in Capricorn there, my suspicion is that the Generals of the Pentagon are closely involved in current and future plans and activities--especially since Mr. Trump basically gave over the commander-in--chief's reins to them from the start of his 'administration'. Another unsettling potential in Return 6th house matters, of course, is whatever foreign dictator (Pluto in Saturn-ruled Cap) is pulling Trump's strings--militarily, financially, or in other ways. Or perhaps the manipulative planet of power denotes a group of foreigner bankers or financiers shown by wealth-hoarder Pluto, 'god' of the Underworld.

Additionally, at the Goal Point of the chart (MC) we see quirky Uranus (radical reformers, changes in the social fabric; Trump himself) and also Cupido, representative of The Family (the Mafia, or religious fanatics), and/or the Corporate Global Crime Syndicate. (You may disagree, but there it is.)

The Solar Return Moon

A Solar Return Moon (SR Moon) in Pisces tells of a year of domestic changes, some sort of weakness or fragility, and possible illness--of Trump, a family member, or even a colleague unable to carry on. This SR Moon reveals 8th house matters such as paying off loans, Corporatism, Big Business, Debt and Credit, Insurance (health?), legacies and inheritance, transformation, death, the occult, etc. Plus, fraudster planet Neptune in Pisces posited in the Return 8th house is of no comfort, is it?

SR 2018 Vertex

We should also note that the chart's Vertex @22Sag57, a karmic point of fated encounter and possible endings, points directly toward Mr. Trump's natal South Node-Moon conjunction where transit Saturn has recently stomped (and stationed on August 25, 2017). This means that the Anti-Vertex conjoins Trump's natal Sun-North Node conjunction which also includes his wild card Uranus that leads all his planets in its oriental condition. Through this Vertex-Anti-Vertex, I suspect that the contentious Mr. Trump sees himself as the Uranus-NN-Sun side of this polarity (which happens to conjunct US natal Mars @22Gemini) but his Moon-SN side? Not so much. Based on his childhood, it seems that he much prefers Papa over Mama.

Task-Master Saturn @3Cap39 in the Return 5th house: Risk-Taking?

Actually, SR 2018 Saturn @3Cap39 (strong in its own sign, planet of karma) is unaspected in this chart indicating working in solitude or feelings of isolation, plus, unaspected Saturn denotes responsible folk who become indifferent or unconcerned about their duties. Organization and self-discipline may be lacking as 'Saturnians' become overly receptive to random influences in the environment. To me, this describes the entire Trump administration from Day One but whether that's an accurate assessment or not, the 2018 Return chart of the Trump Inauguration threatens our nation with lawmakers and others in government neglecting their duties.

Miscellaneous Chart Factors

If we don't mind counting the North Node, we find a YOD pattern (crisis; turning point; special task; spiritual opportunity) with a Moon-Mercury sextile at its base. A Moon-Mercury sextile suggests those who are argumentative with passions so invested in their ideas that their sense of compassion is lost. Bad timing in communications is indicated along with a tendency to placate others (Tierney). At the least, Moon-Mercury-NN forms a midpoint picture suggesting potentials for public contacts and propaganda efforts which relate to Politics and the US Congress via the Moon's ruler-ship of the political 12th house (cusp: 7Can21) of Secret Deals and Large Institutions such as the US Congress and/or Hospitals.

Now since this post is being written in late September 2017, the GOP's attempt to "repeal and replace" Obamacare is in crisis mode for Republicans have until September 30th to bring their misshapen bill up for another vote (they promised Charles Koch, no doubt--and who know who else!) I mention this here because the asteroid denoting health, Hygeia, conjoins the South Node of this chart in 7th house. As you know, the South Node (SN) of the Moon is a Saturnian point of separation where reliance is placed upon past abilities or behavior--which no longer suffice in the present--and this suggests neurosis. Does this mean that Obamacare will be long gone by January 20, 2018? Or perhaps will Republicans make more attempts in 2018 to snatch away health care insurance from millions of Americans? These questions I cannot answer, can you? Yet the GOP's obsession (SN) with blotting out Mr. Obama's signature legislation, the ACA, seems to be partially described here.

Jupiter in Scorpio Leads Them all

Now you may notice that Jupiter @19Sco56, the leader of the planets (Trump himself, on many levels of hugeness, financial concerns, big money from small efforts, boasting and self-importance) conjoins two difficult fixed stars so we should probably mention them: Alpha Serpentis (aka, Unuk) = tragedy, misfortune. And North Scale = hasty words cause problems (Trump's a master at that!), tragedy, violence, but also honors, wealth, and distinction (N. DeVore; A. Louis). DeVore adds that 19Scorpio is traditionally an evil degree, the degree of Self-will vs the Supreme Will. Isn't self-will what the Uranian maverick, Mr. Trump, is all about?

Plus, the 4th house Mars, strong in its own sign of Scorpio (activist, warrior, surgeon, and/or malcontent) has just moved beyond conjunction with expansive Jupiter indicating grand plans and/or those who 'make waves' successfully (Tyl). This can be another hint of health care insurance overhaul--or the lack of it in order to make a political point (ex: Obamacare bad, Trumpcare good).

Another chart factor is the Syzygy Moon (last lunation) prior to this Return chart, a New Moon @26Cap54 on January 17, 2018, conjoins US natal Pluto and Inauguration 2017 MC and denotes new plans being seeded in relation to the power of the presidency and the plutonian Military. I must also direct your gaze to the 2/8 cusps where The Great American Eclipse lurks (conjunct 2nd cusp of the National Treasury; Values, and Earning Ability). On the 8th cusp is the next Solar Eclipse in the 1 South Saros Series which manifests @27AQ08 (conjunct US natal Moon) on February 15, 2018.

The 'hasty energy' 1 South's themes include being flooded with options and enthusiastic ideas which tend to have positive outcomes (Predictive Astrology, Brady). The previous 1 South Solar Eclipse occurred on February 5, 2000 @16AQ01 and has also occurred in the years 1909, 1927, 1946, 1964, and 1982 (conjunct Ronald Reagan's natal 2nd house Sun). So it seems that from this chart, particularly in financial matters, that we must continue to beware 1 North's "info is distorted and possibly false" theme even as we're being flooded with ideas and options during the first half of 2018.

But lest this meager post threaten to become the length of a book, let's close by mentioning the transiting North Node (here, @14Leo55, a positive indicator in any 1st house suggesting new alliances and fortunate encounters) as it continues its winding path toward Donald Trump's natal Pluto (10Leo). This cosmic encounter of Pluto-NN suggests powerful new alliances and/or meetings, catching a tiger by the tail, power plays with others, and/or the common destiny of a mass of people (Ebertin; Tyl). Plus, a midpoint picture of possibilities is formed by the SR 2018 trio:

NN-ASC = natal Pluto: changes in the fabric of society; revenge or retaliation; powerful friends or allies. Any, all, or none may apply.

2017: Republican Party Now Having Its Neptune Return

Yes, this particular astrologer is a common-good sort of American and since we're stuck with two political parties, my preference is that both parties contain honest men working on behalf of the American people. But in this 'New Millennium', my suspicion is that the majority of We The People realize that this is only a bubbly dream that went pouf! decades ago if indeed it was ever reality at all. Founded on Plato's Ideal Society, most of America's Founders were members of secret societies and held an esoteric mindset full of high 'Enlightenment' ideals which subsequently have been quite easy to 'repeal and replace' with crass materialism and me-first attitudes which are now embodied in a compromised Donald Trump playing POTUS as he rakes in the cash at the expense of our republic.

Today is September 21, 2017 and once again the Republican Party thinks to 'repeal' what they disrespectfully have called 'Obamacare' and replace it with a misshapen version of 'healthcare' insurance that some have called Trumpcare ('Trumpscare' more like). So considering how industriously the GOP has worked since the ACA (Obamacare) was passed into law (March 2010) to undermine its provisions and trash talk it down--as they continue to do--we may wish to consider the current condition of the GOP via its natal Neptune, planet of corruption, fraud, falsehood, scams, scandals, delusions,spirituality and inspiration and its natal degree of 14Pis01, for as astrologers of the Tropical Zodiac recognize, transit Neptune has been precisely on that degree in recent times. In fact, the Republican Party's Neptune Return is a five-er due to Neptune's off-and-on retrograde periods. But first...

Why Use March 20, 1854 6:30 pm LMT Rippon, Wisconsin?

In a forum on the Noel Tyl website data is given for the natal Horoscope of the Republican Party as March 20, 1854 6:30 pm LMT Ripon, Wisconsin with 4Libra23 rising and 5Cancer14 at Midheaven, the Point of Aspirations and Goals. The source cited is The Origin of the Republican Party. A 5Can14 MC spotlights America's natal Jupiter @5Can56 (July 4, 1776) with its telling Sabian Symbol: "Game Birds Feathering Their Nests." Wonder if this is one of the reasons Harry Truman asserted in 1948 that the Republican Party was a party of the rich and that that's all it would ever be?

If you're curious, here's what Harry thought of the Republican Party.

So just what is a Neptune Return? With distant Neptune's approximate 165-year cycle, no human being has ever enjoyed one, of course, but nations and other long-term entities can. Amazingly, we who are now living are in the midst of one at this very moment--the Neptune Return/s of the Republican Party--now 'in control' of our three branches of government. And we can feel how Neptune's typical lack of clarity and fanciful notions are working for us.

So first, let's consider through a common-good Political Astrology lens the meaning of Neptune floating through its own sign of oceanic Pisces, sign of the Two Fishes--one swimming upward toward the highest ideals and standards, and reaching the Divine Source, the other swimming down toward the depths--of shady criminality, the Underworld, corruption, deception, delusion, disappointment, and/or the depths of despair. Yes, drug taking and trafficking are down there somewhere along with damning secrets and leaks of inconvenient truths.

Plus, Neptune in Pisces is a primary indicator of the Collective Unconscious which, at least around Stars Over Washington, relates to the US presidency through America's four-year cycle of Inaugurations on January 20th at noon in Washington DC--with 14Taurus rising and bringing starry Menkar the Whale along with the presidential oath. Keywords: victim of the unconscious. Through the Biblical story of Jonah, this archetype also relates to saying what must be said whether you want to or not. (You know--like a president mouthing words written and directed by higher authorities--'the big picture must be followed', etc. Or dethroning follows.)

As for transit Neptune in Pisces, we are in a period since February 3, 2011 of increased interest in mysticism and the paranormal, spiritual quests, inspired art, music, and literature, psychism, alcohol and other drug cravings, contagions, and/or pessimism. This is also a time when deep pathological tendencies float up from the unconscious minds of those who unfortunately have them, whether through nature, nurture, or both. Transit Neptune will be in Pisces until January 2026 so we all have a ways to swim just yet until the Mars-ruled Aries Point of World Manifestation is reached by Neptune with potentials for the love of humanity, ideas concerning the social welfare, confusion, and/or insane or mad ideas (R. Ebertin).

Now in the natal chart of the Republican Party, we may surmise a bit about their Neptune Return by considering natal Neptune's general condition--aspects, midpoint pictures, house rulership, degree, etc. For as you know, any planetary return repeats the aspects of the returning planet to other natal planets thereby casting a light upon them and their indications. However, for the 1854 GOP, the aspects of natal Neptune in natal 6th house (and ruling it with 9Pis20 on the cusp) are wispily threadbare to say the least for there is only a semi-square (2A28) to natal Pluto @1Tau30 in natal 8th house in evidence. There seem to be a few possible ways we can read this:

Weakening Neptune in a weak square with Pluto which brings periods of social turmoil, the subtle disintegration of social structure, and corrupt political institutions. These are, in my estimation, precisely what the 'political class' is all too eager to provide for us with corporate-bought Democrats as the Party of the Rich's enablers. And note the use of subtlety as they continually attempt to hide their paw prints from their crimes!

And if we consider the GOP's natal Neptune as unaspected, we find materialism to be the inspiring world view with full dependence upon rationality and an inability to believe in the numinous. Lack of aspects denotes that the spirituality of planet Neptune is unable to give lofty insights to the rest of the natal planets, resulting in a dry, serious, or cold demeanor (and a lack of smiles, as you may have noticed!)

Another way to look a the GOP Neptune Return/s is the house position of natal Neptune in the 6th house of Health, Work, and Military, Police, and Civil Services. Now I don't have to mention here how all of these areas relate to ongoing Republican efforts to undermine the US government and the American people so I'll simply mention the Sabian Symbols (M.E.J. version) that apply to the party's natal Neptune--the karmic confrontation degree of '14Pisces' and '15Pisces':

'14Pisces': "A Lady in Fox Fur" (my italic for an obvious reason): "negative expression: amoral opportunism."

'15Pisces': "An Officer Preparing to Drill His Men": "negative expression: uninspiring drudgery."

In addition, we should mention that Neptune in mid-Pisces conjoins a certain fixed star: Achernar with the key phrases: a risk of rapid endings and crisis at the end of the river. Neptune's position in 1854 also conjoined an asteroid/archetype, Toro, one of the power asteroids that relates to nuclear power and to Wall Street's pagan worship of the golden bull. This also reminds me of Congress' tricky "nuclear option"!

Now let's close with one more thing about the GOP's natal Neptune and that is its involvement in a natal midpoint picture: Neptune-MC = Uranus (10Tau12 in 8th house of Corporatism and Transformation): the desire to bring ideas to realization at all costs.

This sounds just like the GOP and their enablers to me as they dance self-destructively to the tune of their wealthy domestic and foreign donors.

Past and Future: What's 1831 Got to Do with It?

Although no sources are cited, you might find Wikipedia's list of events, births, and deaths in the year 1831 of interest. Obviously, the Nat Turner Slave Revolt in Southampton County, Virginia stands out along with Cherokee Nation v Georgia (my native state, and yes, I have Native American heritage) which was an injunction claiming that Georgia's state legislature had created laws which "go directly to annihilate the Cherokees as a political society." Predictably, the injunction was denied by the ruling plutocrats of the day, truth-revealing though it was.

A still-famous historical event of 1831 is the tour of America taken by French diplomat and historian Alexis de Tocqueville. In 2009, I posted a famous quote attributed to de Tocqueville which remains very much in effect to this day:

"All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it." We don't have to believe this particular insight concerning America--we can simply look around because we're living in the midst of it.

So for background astrological influences, let's look at the two Solar Eclipses that occurred in 1831 and their themes which affected various societal conditions and events:

1. 13 South Annular Solar Eclipse February 12, 1831 @23AQ18; duration: 1:57 (1 min 57 secs = almost 2 years of influence). Themes: potentials for weather disasters, constitutional crises, and striving for group endeavors, either positively or negatively; underneath lurks expansive and sinister energies (Brady).

Curiously, this 1831 eclipse's Mercury @28Cap25 conjoined US natal Pluto Rx (27Cap33) denoting a time when ideas, information, and events relate to gaining personal power and/or financial dealings and investment. No, that isn't very curious but I must cite the fact that 1831 eclipse Mercury quincunxes (inconjuncts = 150 degrees) 1831 eclipse Saturn Rx @28Leo45--the position of The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 (which 'hit' Mr. Trump's natal Ascendant, his nibs himself). A Mercury-Saturn inconjunct suggests such things as: self-sacrifice via becoming a 'patsy' for other people's failings who then lose respect for such 'patsies'; a need to look forward, not back and to learn from past mistakes rather than look for someone to blame them on (look in the mirror!)

Interestingly, Founder Thomas Jefferson was born with a Mercury-Saturn inconjunction and a Saturn-Uranus inconjunction, two sides of a YOD pattern (special task) pointing toward his natal Saturn, planet of work, responsibility, and putting Uranian inspiration and ideals into Saturnian form such as the Declaration of Independence. Actually, his natal Saturn Rx @29Leo04 in natal 7th house was also 'hit' by The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 which spotlights the conjunction of Jefferson's natal Saturn to Trump's natal Ascendant. As you've noticed, Thomas Jefferson's name does seem to cross Trump's loose lips quite often.

So when did a 13 South Solar Eclipse last manifest? This brings 13 South themes forward into current or recent history. Its last manifestation was on June 1, 2011 @11Gemini. Now 2011 contained four solar eclipses, one of which was in the second 1831 Saros Series, the 14 North:

2. 14 North August 7, 1831 @14Leo34; duration: 3:20 (3 yrs 4 mos). Themes: a most peculiar turn of events; an acute time of confusion in personal relationships, unexpected happenings in financial matters, and a draining of energy; no important decisions should be made because there is too much confusion and delusion to make clear judgments. (Predictive Astrology, B. Brady).

And when did the last 14 North Solar Eclipse occur? November 25, 2011 @2Sag37, what I termed in my fusses at the time as The Sequestration Eclipse, a period of sinister and peculiar events in US financial matters for you remember that a dubious 'super Congress' was set up to deal with budgetary crises so that the 'real' Congress would be off the hook for certain across-the-board budget cuts (and perhaps America's true financial condition could continue to be hidden). Was a shadow Congress anti-constitutional? I'm not a lawyer but it seems to me it should have been considered so.

However, the entire affair in 2011 was definitely a slick, transparently sinister move, don't you think?

Looking ahead, solar eclipses of both the 13 South and 14 North series will repeat in 2029, a year containing four solar eclipses and ends on December 5, 2029 @14Sag with the sinister and peculiar 14 North.

Related: the history of Southampton County, Virginia a majority of which was renamed Isle of Wight County in 1637. This county has turned up in my genealogical research concerning my Strickland and Braswell/Bracewell ancestors.

Sept 2017 Trump to UN and a Virgo New Moon

Today, during the three days leading up to the Virgo New Moon of September 20, 2017 (1:30 am edt) @27Vir27--the 'dark of the Moon' phase when sneaky doings often occur--Donald Trump has met and spoken with UN members--chastising them as expected. However, his first Address to the UN General Assembly is scheduled for Tuesday, September 19th when the gathered members will be able to take 'his measure'. Naturally, mention of the nuclear capabilities and intentions of North Korea will be a primary item on Trump's agenda along with his ideas for reforming the UN.

Sowing Seeds During September's Earthy New Moon

An astrological tidbit concerning Mr. Trump's appearance at the UN this week involves the Sabian Symbol for the September 20th 2017 New Moon degree (27Vir27), a word picture which may well describe a certain mogul playing acting a presidential role though of course you are welcome to disagree...

Rounding up we get '28Virgo':

"A Bald-Headed Man Dominates a Gathering of National Figures"...'Keyword: DOMINANCE...positive expression: accomplishment through a completeness of self-mastery and a rigid control of others; negative (shadow/unconscious side): a sadistic sophistication'. Of course, inter-national figures will also be in attendance. And Virgo is the sign of The Critic.

Now Trump's level of self-mastery is uncertain, if it exists, but it or its lack will be with him at the podium, one imagines.

Well, it is a darkened Moon so perhaps the degree's Illumination Point (opposite) can shed a ray of light upon the situation:

Now 'exceptional integrity'? Hmm. Not so much. And 'irritating pride of possessions'? I'd have to say The Gilded One has got that firmly covered! It only remains to be seen how ruffled and fretful or how soothed and at ease his audience will be when Donald Trump is done pontificating at them. If his nagging includes whining that would definitely be irritating to most, if not everyone.

My suspicion is that the fulfillment/culmination stage of the September New Moon arriving in two weeks with the Full Moon of October 5, 2017 @12Ari43, a critical degree ('13Aries' = "An Unsuccessful Bomb Explosion"!!), will reveal how the September seeds Mr. Trump plants this week are sprouting--vigorously in receptive soil, or meagerly in the soil of the world's discontent.

Horoscope: The Vietnam War August 4, 1964

September 17, 2017: In a 10-part, 18-hour documentary, the Vietnam War receives the Ken Burns and Lynn Novick treatment beginning tonight on PBS. Below is the horoscope for the start of the Vietnam War set for the alleged assault (pretext) of the second Gulf of Tonkin incident. The resolution giving President Johnson authority for use of force was voted on in Congress and passed the House by a vote of 416 - 0 and the Senate 88 - 2.

The two senators who voted against the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution were Wayne Morse and Alaska's Ernest Groenig. "When the resolution passed, Morse declared that Congress had surrendered its authority, and therefore the authority of the people it was elected to serve. Morse also deplored the open-ended nature of the approval and condemned Congress for giving the President and the military a “blank check” which would be cashed with taxpayer’s money and citizens’ lives."

When North Vietnamese troops entered Saigon, capital of South Vietnam, on April 30, 1975, the Vietnam War came to an end. On that date, Venus @19Gemini27 was unaspected, a 'wallflower' condition for the usually sociable Venus. This condition of Venus suggests unusual perspectives, sporadic or unrestrained expressions, and an obsessive single-mindedness. Another April 30, 1975 cosmic condition of interest is karmic Saturn @13Can54 conjunct US natal Sun (POTUS = Nixon). This repressive transit indicates a time of disappointment, discouragement, and resentment toward limitations, rules, and regulations. It marks a period when past mistakes must be corrected so that moving forward is possible, aka, making karmic progress.

Tragically, through subsequent wars and their flimsy pretexts, Congress' continued negligence of its war-declaration duties and shady money management, Pentagon and CIA shadow activities, fear-mongering propaganda against We The People, and Washington's obvious plundering and global conquest obsessions, we see that 'the powers that think they be' (Max Igan's phrase) continue their Ivory Tower existences while perverting the course of our nation as 'global cop' and lining their pockets via several means including the racket that is war.

Besides the Vietnam War's Jupiter in a Money house (and fraudulent Neptune in the 8th house of Corporations and Big Business), note that the IC (Foundation, Basis, the HOW? point, The Drain) of the war chart reveals, as you see, America's natal Jupiter @6Cancer: "Game Birds Feathering Their Nests" (Jones).

2 New North: Collapse of 'The Tower'

One more prominent chart factor to note is the Prenatal Solar Eclipse (PE) series under which this particular hell of war was unleashed, the 2 New North, which manifested @17Cancer27 (4th house) on July 9, 1964. Themes of 2 New North, also called 'The Tower' (see Tarot card #16) are: changes of direction, sudden collapse of plans, lifestyles, and/or an existing structure; confusion reigns but after the dust settles, reshaping and rebuilding have far-reaching effects (Predictive Astrology, B.Brady).

Also note that unaspected Jupiter is apex planet of a midpoint picture--the karmic Sun-Saturn pair = Jupiter: break-up of a value system (Tyl), plus, Jupiter @23Tau28 conjoins the difficult cluster in Perseus, Capulus ('the sword hand of Perseus'- Devore), star of intense male energy, blindness, turbulence, ruthlessness, penetrating action (Brady's Fixed Stars). Capulus is partner to the intense feminine star, Algol.

The last occurrence of 2 New North was @8Leo on July 31, 2000 (not quite 9/11's PE, but obviously still of influence). The next occurrence is @19Leo on August 11, 2018; 19Leo is a sensitized degree from the King of Alarm Solar Eclipse of August 11, 1999, aka, the 'Nostradamus Eclipse' with its mid-degreed Fixed Grand Cross as described in the Scriptures' Book of Revelation. And on 9/11/01, transiting Venus activated the 19Leo degree and thus 1999's King of Alarm Eclipse.

The UAE natal chart w/ the February 2018 Solar Eclipse

As you've heard by now Former Obama official Susan Rice unmasked Trump officials who met with UAE government officials during the Trump transition period. The UAE did not follow protocol and inform the Obama administration of the visit, hence the 'unmasking'. The Trump officials who secretively met with the UAE reps include Jared Kushner, Steve Bannon, and Michael Flynn and it is reported that the meeting involved the setting up of a secret communications channel between Trump and the Russian government.

Apparently, Mr. Trump wants more of Russia and Mr. Putin than he can honestly get. Yet if a shady communications channel with Russia and Trump was set up, how long did Mr. Trump and his gang think it could go undetected?

Be that as it may, here is the natal horoscope of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) which was officially proclaimed on December 2, 1971 at Dubai 12:00 pm R3T -4:00 (my SolarFire Gold v9 software gives the time zone as USZ3 -4:00, same chart):

Around the chart and conjunct the UAE's Ascendant @27AQ43 is notated the February 16, 2018 partial Solar Eclipse in the 1 South Saros Series with themes of: flooded with ideas and options which are enthusiastically expressed; an element of haste is attached but outcomes are potentially positive (paraphrasing Predictive Astrology, Brady). Note that the February 2018 1 South Eclipse opposes the UAE's Prenatal Solar Eclipse, aka, PE (conjunct natal Descendant @27Leo15 in the 9 New South Saros Series; themes: bringing to the surface long-term worries about loved ones, health, or issues concerning paperwork or communications; responsibilities with paperwork may 'come home to roost' and any news has a sense of destiny or fate attached (Brady). So the February 2018 eclipse may possibly activate or provide illumination of the UAE's PE issues and concerns and combine them with 1 South themes in some way.

And with the February 2018 eclipse personalized for the UAE (conjunct natal DESC) we may expect the UAE federation to remain in US news headlines well into 2018.

Winter Solstice 2017: a Neptune and Sun-Saturn Season

DC Horoscope Winter Solstice December 21, 2017: Watery Neptune Ascends and then...

That nebulous, scandal-plagued, hider of secrets, Neptune, rises at Winter Solstice 2017 in Washington, DC and considering the administration of Donald Trump, it seems his first year (barely holding) office will end much as it began--clouded by leaks and shrouded in mysteries with questions of fraud and conflicts of interests on America's menu as We The People move into 2018 with our actual needs and concerns, for the most part, unaddressed.

Now as an astrologer of sorts, I tend to think of higher octave planets as co-rulers or sub-rulers of their respective signs and can't quite bring myself to tag Neptune as 'chart-ruler' here. But the original or traditional ruler of Pisces, Jupiter, is very much so, though perhaps in a Piscean secretive and/or confused sort of way (rather than Jupiter's rulership of its own sign Sagittarius would suggest).

Yet expansive Jupiter's many potential roles in a mundane chart include politician, The General, thespian, banker, investor, CEO, judge, lawyer, mentor, and other masks that pertain to Politics, Religion, or Business.

Plus, as astrologers know, there is one curious thing about soft, mutable Pisces in a mundane sense -- military generals are quite often born under the sign with General George Washington as our primary example. And since America in 2017 is under attack by monster storms and floods once again, we may expect more oceanic actions from Neptune rising, chart-ruler or not, with plenty of confusion, scandals, leaks, corruption, lies, and fraud involved as well.

First, Let's Talk About Solar Eclipses

Now the 1 North August 21, 2017 Total Solar Eclipse manifested in fiery Leo and was coined as 'The Great American Eclipse' by NASA, if memory serves. But did this manifestation of a 1 North Solar Eclipse trigger the fires which have consumed large ares of the West Coast and inland where the eclipse first 'hit' the US as its path of totality raced across our country and took its leave by way of South Carolina? How about hurricanes, typhoons, and floods in the US and across the globe?

As you know, natural disasters often accompany heavy-duty eclipses and total eclipses are the strongest instigators of all. Yet one theme of a 1 North eclipse is: information is distorted and possibly false (Brady) just as it was in 2001 to 2003 in order to finagle the American people under false pretexts into a Middle East war of plunder, racketeering, and conquest. Plus, the government's tactical use of fear is the usual accomplice in these bogus matters, as you know. Exs: the 9/11/01 attacks, "mushroom cloud", "WMD"...you remember Vulcan 'VP' Cheney and the 1% gang's neocon lies. Anyway, their lies are examples of events that demonstrate 1 North's 'info is distorted and possibly false' theme.

Winter Solstice 2017 and Sun-Saturn Energies

And since 1 North first manifested on January 4, 1639 @13Cap48--opposite what turned out to be America's natal Sun position (POTUS), the August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse in Sun-ruled Leo should be viewed through a (1639) Saturn-ruled Capricorn lens which in 2017 into 2018 provides a Sun-Saturn signature to events and activities which can be clearly seen in the Winter Solstice 2017 horoscope via Saturn entering its own sign of Capricorn conjunct the Solstice Sun (@00Cap00, a Cardinal World Point of Manifestation).

When Karmic Saturn pairs its restrictive energies with the Sun, at least two other Sun-Saturn signatures resonate with this chart and they both relate to current events:

America's natal Sun-Saturn square which denotes potentials for hard work and planning paying off, taking responsibility seriously, karma (reaping what was sown), separation/isolation, a lack of vitality; perseverance, determination. This 'presidential-and-lawmaker' square forms the base of a Fist of God (aka, a Thor's Hammer pattern) aimed directly at US natal Moon (We The People, if you use a late Aquarius position for our national Moon-- here on SO'W we'll soon consider the Solar Eclipse that 'hits' this natal Moon position on February 15, 2018 @27AQ).

Potential expressions of Sun-Saturn = Moon: instinctual caution and self-control; sensitivity to otherwise rigid frameworks; discipline in daily activities (Munkasey); fear; feeling inferior; emotional depression in part due to organic disturbance (Ebertin) (from lack of health insurance and much needed medical care? - jc.) Manipulating and controlling the American public is one of the primary goals of this pattern.

Expert astrologer and author Michael Munkasey, in his section on Politics and Business, adds the following Hegelian dialectic for Sun-Saturn:

Thesis: Form and definition in an enterprise; the will of the people as defined in the principal founding documents; the checks and balances within enterprises as implemented by various administrations.

Antithesis: Pessimism and gloom as a center focus of policy; unreasonable centralization of authority in one location; a leadership preoccupied with the various forms of law enforcement; older and more distanced leaders. (Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets, Munkasey)

Another Sun-Saturn signature now in force: transit Saturn's off-and-on-again visit to Donald Trump's natal planets: conjunct his natal Moon (which conjoins his natal South Node of the Moon, a Saturnian, separative conjunction denoting emotional distance, bad timing, and unpopularity with and odd attitudes toward women) and simultaneously Saturn's opposition to his natal Sun (ego, pride, goals, hero's journey) when failure to live up to his promises and a neglect of responsibilities leads to discouragement from authorities and a lack of success with his objectives, murky as they may seem.

What Jupiter Sextile Pluto Reveals

Now let's consider the chart-ruler's applying aspects to see how things will proceed from December 21, 2017 into 2018. Since I've already excluded Neptune as chart-ruler (but see Neptune's two primary aspects, below), let's look at expansive Jupiter @15Scorpio, the Eagle Point, posited in the 8th house of Corporations, CEOs, Shared Finances, Credit and Debt. Jupiter applies to only one Ptolemaic aspect in the chart, a sextile (60 degrees; 3A19) with powerful Pluto. If we consider the two planets as 'actors' in a scene we discover that Jupiter sextile Pluto denotes those who sabotage themselves by their rigid opinions, secretiveness, evasiveness, willfulness, inflexibility, and an obsessive fear of loss. In addition, they have a hard time letting go of old relationships which no longer serve or are now inappropriate, and are desperate to overcome feelings of vulnerability. Living by their own rules, their focus on loyalty or its lack can trigger problems in friendships and other alliances.

Taking offense when not treated with dignity, a Jupiter-Pluto sextile suggests those who continue to be motivated by past slights which are never forgotten, another example of being unable to let go. Good at psychological warfare and taking pride in their self-reliance, they often must face their losses and crises alone for others may abandon them, plus, they are reluctant to ask for help from other people. Another inability to let go is seen by a lack of forgiveness for those who withhold information from them or who misinform them in order to keep them 'in the dark' (Epstein). After all, knowledge is power.

Then if we consider the applying Jupiter sextile Pluto aspect by transit, it denotes a time of analyzing one's skills and talents with the goal of using them more efficiently in order to benefit from this helpful energy. Opportunities may arise for increasing one's power and control or for understanding how this may be achieved (Skalka). And naturally with contacts between Jupiter and Pluto we tend to think of people who promote large-scale projects (exs: infrastructure, wall construction, etc), wealthy donors, other huge investors, global bankers and financiers--and power-hungry plutocrats.

Winter Solstice 2017 for Mr. Trump

Now if you are familiar with the Solar Return 2017 horoscope of Donald Trump, you know that 00Cap00 falls within his SR 3rd house of Communications, Siblings, Short Journeys, and the Lower Mind. (Thanks, Pat, for catching mea culpa!) So one topic we might think of is his older sister Maryanne, a judge (via judgmental Saturn, the old man/woman, with Donald playing the solar role). Another thing that first occurs to everyone's mind when it comes to Donald Trump is communications--speeches, tweets, insults, and all so I shall leave it for you to decide how he may best use the astrological energies of Winter Solstice 2017 and beyond into 2018.

Perhaps a future SO'W post concerning Trump's Inauguration Solar Return 2018 will soon appear here--assuming that he continues in the role of POTUS until January 20, 2018 without hitching a ride on the helicopter of ignominy!

As you see, evasive Neptune is involved in two applying aspects in the above chart:

1. Mercury square Neptune (1A27) which echoes Mr. Trump's problematic Mercury-Neptune square of distorted perceptions, falsehoods, confused rhetoric, over-promising, indiscretion, and "the sneaky mind" (Oken); 2. Mars trine Neptune (3A59) denoting potentials for successful but hidden activities, investigations of the occult or perhaps probing into mysteries or crimes, medical breakthroughs, increased intuition or insight, and/or energetic work with charities, entertainment, oil or gas industries, marine life projects, photography pursuits, prison systems, military projects, the Internet, work in or against Big Pharma, and/or action concerning the trafficking of drugs and/or sex workers.

But wait! There's one more chart factor that relates directly to current events and that's the Earth-Air Sun Cap-Moon AQ blend of energies which 'click into place' as soon as the Sun reaches 00Cap00. You see, this blend has at least two former US presidents born under its influences--Woodrow Wilson and Richard Nixon. It's a blend of a "practical idealist" who is "up front' yet private, very ambitious, and has a good business sense. In their book Sun Sign-Moon Sign, the Harveys give two interesting Images for Integration for this blend:

"An historian points the way to the future...Having struggled unaided to the peak, a mountaineer hitches a ride on a passing helicopter." Wonder if this can possibly mean that Mr. Trump will follow the example of the resigning Mr. Nixon...?

DC Horoscopes 2017: Autumn EQ and Winter Solstice

For the sake of comparison and because someone asked me nicely here are two 'DC Horoscopes', both 'coming soon' to Washington DC and thus to the rest of America:

Autumn Equinox Sept 22, 2017 (aka, Libra Ingress) 4:02 pm edt:

There are various reasons why this date in September is significant to Washington DC, some going back to its founding and before via certain founders' Freemasonry practices and rituals, Sacred Geometry, Venus worship, and other secret societies and 'higher' oaths taken. One obvious one for astrologers who use a natal horoscope of America set for July 4, 1776 at 5:09 pm is that this timing places the Aries Point on the IC and 00Libra00 at Midheaven (MC) where the Sun shines at Autumn Equinox each year. That the Venus-ruled sign of Libra is half of the Aries-Libra axis of war, diplomacy, partnership, and luxury has bearing as well. And as you see, 25Cap15 rises which brings along US natal Pluto Rx (27Cap33) with transit Pluto already risen and the transiting South Node of the Moon in 1st house, a difficult indicator of separation, unpopularity, and potential loss.

Before or around Winter Solstice each year the varmints and culprits of Congress have cleared out of the City on a Hill and left the place to its actual residents. Having been such a resident twice in my life, I can attest to the magical quality of a District of Columbia blanketed with snow and to the fact that even in the headquarters of worldly power in the US, the spiritual vibrations prevalent at this time of year cannot be completely squelched by DC's political corruption, cynicism, and downright unkindness. But politicians do sometimes seem to sport Grinch frowns on their mugs, don't they?

So let's forget all that! How about a higher view of Winter Solstice, one of the four times of the year that some say represent a spiritual path to awakening? Especially since, imho, America and the American people would definitely benefit from a major spiritual awakening right now! Oh but let's remember to hang on to the very important part where the country is founded on Religious Freedom, shall we?
