It's been a year since Lehman Brothers failed, as you know the biggest bankruptcy in US history, so I'm looking at last year's Sun-Moon blend to gain a smidge of insight, and also at today's blend as the President heads to Wall Street to ask the leopard to change his spots and cease taking such high risks that our economy falters.
With 2009 being a year of a Great Conjunction of the speculator-inflationary pair, Jupiter and Neptune, I wish him luck with that. Do you know who runs the US government?
Do you know the players behind the players in Washington, in other words: WhoRunsGov?
The site went live in January this year and its editor is on C-SPAN's Washington Journal right now. It can be user-edited, too, for adding names and bios, and there's a Policy section to see where various officials stand on issues.
And the site plans to add info on lobbyists - who are these clout-wielding people behind the scenes? (All Americans should appreciate that one!)
My plan is to spend some time on the site and get to know administration officials and their staffers better. But this week, my schedule is all about Art...except for the next post I'm preparing concerning President Obama's speech to Wall Street.

Poverty in US way up, Power Elite doing just fine
On September 10, 2009, the US Census Bureau released the latest figures for poverty rates in America which now affect one in eight Americans.
Our plutocrats-in-charge, the grossly wealthy and morally deformed power elite, remain unmoved as their NWO plans steamroll along.
And it continues to amaze me that so few people in this country see a connection!
On Jan 1, 2006, with Astrology as a lens and intuition my guide, I was blogging like the dissenting gnat I am here on SO'W and fussing about upcoming Soup Lines Across America. Was I wrong? Well, I wanted to be, yet felt a sinking feeling that I was not.
Please check out a bit of (Freemason) President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Jan 20, 1937 Inaugural Address where he defines the test of our progress, the dynamics of which I assert were of no concern to George Bush or to other US oligarchs.
So Bush's financial crisis of 2007/2008 expectably occurred, ostensibly giving states and the federal government many excuses for cutting back on public services just when they're needed most; now we see where Republican policies have led - to lukewarm bowls of Sole of Shoe Soup for many Americans, if they can get them.

And to answer TC's query as to why Joe Wilson's outburst, "You Lie!" has not been mentioned on Stars Over Washington, it's for two reasons:
1. his rudeness is a distraction from the real issues and I don't like to promote the GOP, the party that lied us into the Iraq invasion, but is against health care for all Americans;
2. Rep. Wilson misspoke, as they love to say in Politics: he should have said, "We Lie!"
Now that would be a very basic truth worth paying close attention to.

A Saturn/Neptune quincunx and Financial Crisis 2008
In July 2009 I made an attempt to relate the cycle of Saturn and Neptune to the 2007-2008 financial crisis, and to my own general misgivings about the original and current forms of our US government.
And Saturn's 'cold water' end-of-August conjunction with US natal Neptune @ 22Virgo25, the 'grim reality' transit, has added to the general feelings of gloom in the collective. Reality is having to be faced, and it had better be! If only we could get all our Washington politicians to come clean so we could deal, right?
Well, the quincunx (inconjunct), an aspect of 150 degrees, is difficult to deal with at the best of times, which financially we may say these are not. Saturn is form, Neptune is formlessness, and their inconjunct adds to the diffulties as the irreconcilable must be reconciled.
Yet fulfilling social obligations and/or doing social work for the common good are two of the aspect's most positive manifestations, so with today being the 8th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, it's most apt that a drive is on for the newly established 911 Day of Service and Remembrance. This links 9/11 with the 2003 Iraq War response (misguided though it may have been) when Saturn and Neptune were last inconjunct (2003/04.)
That today's Sept 11 observances in Pennsylvania, New York, and DC fall just hours prior to the perfecting of another Saturn/Neptune quincunx seems synchronistically appropriate, doesn't it?
And most fortuitously for both of us, a brilliant article has been published concerning the transiting Saturn/Neptune quincunx and its part in our economic woes, just in time for the aspect's perfection tomorrow, Sept 12, 2009, with Saturn in Virgo, Neptune in Aquarius.

Today's 8th anniversary of 9/11 attacks and the Initiate
First let me express my heartfelt condolences to all the family members and friends of those whose lives were so callously extinguished in the attacks of 9/11/01, and provide a link to the newly created National Day of Service and Remembrance website.
With today being the 8th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, President Obama has called for renewed resolve for chasing the perpetrators.
Wonder if he includes the attacks' enablers (and possibly their co-perpetrators) in America within his resolve? If so, he wouldn't have far to chase, imo.
Astrologically speaking we know that today the Sun has returned to its '19Virgo' degree as on the morning of Sept 11, 2001, and is in conjunction with depressive, realistic loss-bringer, Saturn, planet of accountability. Sun = the leader in a national chart so we hear the president's shout-out to find those accountable.

Pay no attention to the Republican critic behind the curtain
Well, last evening's show of self-awareness from the Republicans in the House during the president's address concerning Health Care/Insurance Reform has been dissed from many sides, but one thing their sourpuss display has done for the GOP: lamentably it takes attention away from the legislation at hand and from the dire issues of our health care system.
It also helps fill Republican Party coffers from whatever supporters they have and hope to have by way of Obama-bashing.
The GOP's 'hopeful' de-legitimizing of the presidency of Barack Obama continues and one wonders if the majority of the American people will accept these tactics as legitimate political discourse, or as the crass and desperate underhandedness it is. That people with real concerns about any commander-in-chief are being callously manipulated seems not to occur to the Republican rank and file at all, and I marvel that they were so often missing-in-action during the Bush-Cheney years which have so injured our nation's credibility, economy, and moral standing.
Where were they then with concerns about America and her direction? For as you know, the Sabian Symbol for George Bush's Ascendant degree (ASC = his nibs himself) is "A Bolshevik Propagandist"...hello? Yet Pres. Obama is supposedly 'Hitler' and 'Stalin' rolled into one? Puh! Those two monsters weren't even on the same side!
Assuming that Mr. Obama and/or other high-ranking Democrats are not snagged in an embarrassing scandal or two during his term, I fail to see how many US citizens they hope to grab to support the GOP for its ultimate return to the White House. Of course, their raptor's eye is on the 2010 elections as well, when they hope to make gains at the ballot box; yet invisble Pluto is the real decider of all elections.
So even though the ones who count the votes install the winners, a candidate's ability to sway the masses is apparently taken into consideration...hence Mr. Obama over Hillary Clinton - good as she is, he was better at orating, as we know.
