The Jacques de Molay of the Knights Templar legend relates to the founding of America, including Francis Bacon's New Atlantis vision, America's Great Seal symbols, 'Novus Ordo Seclorum', Freemason George Washington's ceremonial roles with silver trowel and apron, our scam-filled 'Manifest Destiny', the money lenders' 'Federal Reserve' central bank of 1913 (creating money out of thin air and loaning it to enslave governments), Freemason FDR's placing the freaky Eye-of-Horus pyramid of power on our currency, the 'New World Order' political agenda of World Government which implicates the EU and various 'free' trade deals, our empiric take-overs of sovereign countries in order to plunder treasures, depopulate, and to institute their enslavement to the International Banking Cartel (all relating to a centuries' long dream of setting up a 'King of Jerusalem')...well, the list goes, doesn't it?
Now We the People are mired within the Campaign 2016 season with our typical lesser-of-two-evils choice ahead on November 8th--as if We the People actually elect presidents!
Running as a Democrat, Senator Bernie Sanders is the only candidate who comes across to me as genuine while complaining against income inequality and the oppression of the elite banker class which officially took control of the US government in 1913, as noted. And though I have yet to hear the Senator mention such terms as 'Templar Knights' or 'Illuminati', we can simply gaze at New York Harbor for a view of the Illuminati symbol of the Eternal Flame held by the Venusian goddess statue sent us by french Freemasons to know who rules this nation. Or, we can check out America's Great Seal which is basically same as the seal of Weishaupt's Bavarian Illuminati founded May 1, 1776.
No, candidate Bernie Sanders cannot "do it alone" and restructure the government of this nation, even with transformative, destructuring Pluto in governmental Capricorn approaching its natal position in our nation's 1776 horoscope (27Cap33). And if by a miracle he is elected to the presidency, a monumental task awaits if he attempts to best the Banking Cartel on behalf of the American people. Yet decades of divide-and-conquer tactics by the power elite have guaranteed them primacy over us since we would need to Speak as One Voice along with Bernie in order to make any real difference in our national plight.
Yet between social wedge issues like transgender bathroom use, abortion, and racial inequality, what are our chances of banding together en masse against the shadowy figures who are our true oppressors?

The "Unsurprising Surprises" of a "Man Who Believes in Nothing"
"...the man who believes in nothing, and therefore has space for everything, has a terrible advantage over us. What passes as a kindly tolerance in him is in reality a craven acceptance of the world's worst crimes. He's an immobilist, an apathist, and a militant passivist...And of course he's a dear sweet man."
People who know Donald Trump describe him by such words as "warm and generous," as House Speaker Paul Ryan flattered him after their much-touted 'Unity Meeting' this morning (see link, below). And naturally the boastful Mr. Trump always believes that he resembles such favorable opinions with his brash Mars rising in proud Leo, the sign ruled by the Sun (ego). And as you know, his Gemini planets denote him as an actor, juggler, chameleon, and something of a magician--two sides has his nibs via dualistic Gemini and those would be of the light vs the dark variety. No, he is not as he seems on the campaign trail or when cameras are on, as he suggests. Watch for his pivot to being very "presidential," he promises. Dictatorial, too, is my suspicion, and with his tiny finger on The Button (mea culpa! I couldn't resist a small reference; oops! there's another one).

In honor of this morning's "Unity Meeting" between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (with Trump's natal Mercury @8Cancer conjunct fixed star Mirzam rising at 9:00 am edt: to have one's say), I'm posting a commentary by progressive broadcaster Thom Hartmann concerning the differences and similarities of the 2016 Trump campaign and Ronald Reagan's successful 1980 presidential campaign:
May 12, 2016 Political Theater: an Astro-Peek at the Trump-Ryan Unity Meeting
At the goal-oriented Midheaven of today's Trump-Ryan Unity Meeting horoscope is the propagandistic Mercury-Pluto midpoint which carries potentials for keen judgment, coping ability, sharing secrets, providing important info, foresight, and an ability to arrange matters well (Ebertin). For RNC Chairman Reince Priebus (March 18, 1972) and for Paul Ryan (January 29, 1970), the current Mars retrograde transit in Sagittarius is lurking around both their Neptunes--Priebus' @5Sag and Ryan's @00Sag. When transit Mars aggravates natal Neptune, vibes of pretense, illusion, confusion, deception, and misunderstanding abound and may be coming from others and/or from Priebus and Ryan themselves. And considering Trump's truth-distorting natal Mercury-Neptune square, an air-clearing meeting of understanding and ironing out differences this morning almost had to be fraught with such potentials.
In addition, the current Jupiter-Neptune opposition is affecting Paul Ryan's natal Nodal Axis and his Midheaven, both on the Virgo/Pisces polarity, and the Jupiter-Neptune pair is associated with political conflicts, fraud, and speculation. And with today's Sun position @22Taurus (money sign of The Bull of Wall Street), the solar Sabian Symbol comes into view: "A Jewelry Shop Filled with the Most Magnificent Gems," which remains significant due to the May 2000 Great Conjunction of societal planets Jupiter and Saturn upon that degree. Financing a 'Victory Fund' was, of course, one of the topics of their "Unity Meeting" since Mr. Trump has now pivoted toward the General Election and the defeat of presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton--and because Trump's great claim of financing his own campaign must wane since his campaign will pay him back, plus, the billion-dollar effort that must be financed if Donald Trump is to prevail for the Republicans in November.
So although the changeable Gemini Mr. Trump is unpredictable (his natal Uranus in mutable Gemini leads all his planets) and is not considered conservative enough for many GOPers (can the party control him? he has enough baggage from the past that they can probably use threats and blackmail), the basic summation by Republican spokesmen this morning concerning the Trump-Ryan Unity Meeting is that "Trump isn't Hillary".
And I believe that that may be what many people would call cold comfort.

19 North Eclipse affects 2016/17 Election/Inauguration as with Reagan and Clinton
Will the September Solar Eclipse Jiggle Our National Truth-o-Meter in 2016/2017?

In the past, the Solar Eclipse Saros Series 19 North has been influential in US Presidential elections and inaugurations with its noble themes of 'coming down to earth, realism, and a constructive time for tackling the truth' (Brady). In addition, any eclipse, solar or lunar, can inspire the uncovering of truths and secrets long kept hidden with a cosmic peep-eye! quality that may be very inconvenient for miscreants and 'evil-doers'. 19 North (19N) repeats on September 1, 2016 and is the 'Pre-Natal Eclipse' Saros Series of Election Day 2016 in November and Inauguration 2017 in January.
For background, the initial eclipse of the 19N series began on July 5, 1331 (OS) @20Cancer and will end on August 10, 2575. This puts a lunar Cancerian lens over what will be a Virgoan eclipse on September 1st (@9Virgo). Oddly enough, both July 5th and August 10th are dates that are involved in US history since some US Solar Returns occur not on July 4th but on July 5th (SR = Sun to its position on July 4, 1776, our national birthday), and August 10th is thought by some to be an important esoteric date because the Sun as viewed from the Capitol Building sets over the western end of Pennsylvania Avenue as devised by District architect, Pierre Charles L'Enfant (Ovason). At least, that's a cosmic event that L'Enfant planned for the Federal City. (Sun in Mundane Astrology = the leader, leadership, or, the president.)
If you're curious, here are Timelines of Events for 1980 and 1998. See if you can spot any eclipse-inspired 'truth tackling' events in 1998 such as President Bill Clinton testifying on tape to his inappropriate affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky (August 19), the US embassy bombings in retaliation (taking revenge) against al-Qaeda camps in Afghanistan and in Sudan, and Scott Ritter's resignation from UNSCOM as he asserted that, "Iraq retains the capability to launch chemical strike" (August 26). Was Mr. Ritter tackling a truth that Washington politicians wanted to keep hidden? Note that the 19N eclipse occurred in the midst of these events on August 22, 1998 @29Leo conjoining royal star Regulus (keywords: success if revenge is avoided--otherwise, all that was gained will be lost--Brady).
Tragically for the American people and the rest of the world, US politicians take revenge all too well, don't they? And usually they deny that revenge is the motivation.
Plus, as previously discussed, Regulus in the original grid for DC represents the US Congress with Arcturus (a different approach; patience brings success) standing for the White House, and Spica (the spike; victory; good fortune) as the Washington Monument, our phallic symbol of the Executive Branch. Disturbingly, Donald Trump was born with warrior planet Mars in Leo (super-sensitive ego!) and kingmaker Regulus rising. Speaking of taking revenge, Mr. Trump does like to hit back when others attack him (aren't 'nice' to him!) and being a 'loser' is, he thinks, only for other people, not himself. However, Regulus rising might one day disagree and deal him a losing hand.
Now here's a 1992 Frontline feature investigating the 1980 Election and the US hostage release "October Surprise" perpetrated by the Reagan administration which tilted election results away from incumbent President Jimmy Carter in an untruthful way as Reagan took credit for what Carter had accomplished:

So now once again we face the 19 North 'tackling the truth' eclipse and we know that being realistic, honest, and admitting the truth are seldom part of Politics or in the play book of Washington DC politicians particularly when elections are at stake so it will be interesting to see how truths are bent and surprises are sprung against the cosmic imperative of the September 1, 2016 Solar Eclipse @9Virgo in the 19 North Saros Series as Election Day 2016 approaches and the Inauguration 2017 Oath of Office is taken--usually with a presidential hand placed upon--of all things--a Bible!
Dates and Degrees of 19 North include:July 31, 1962 @8Leo; July 20, 1944 @27Cancer (opposite US natal Pluto); July 9, 1926 @17Cancer; June 28, 1908 @7Cancer (conjunct US natal Jupiter). 19N is the Pre-Natal Eclipse Series of: America's Great Seal (1782), the Republican Party (1854), LBJ and the FBI (1908), and the death of Marilyn Monroe (1962). Was Marilyn about to 'tackle the truth' too inconveniently for Politics? You see, correlating the years of 19N with events and the presidents then in office can be quite informative since history doesn't repeat...but it does rhyme.

The Thales Eclipse and a Peacock of Venus

Both Solar and Lunar Eclipses have storied histories as omens and heralds of change similar to that of comets which enter Earth's neighborhood and thus humanity's consciousness. Eclipses are often described in Astrology as 'wild cards of the Universe' for the unpredictable disruptions they seem to bring which result in chaotic conditions. In this they have resonance with astrological Uranus, also a 'wild card' and planet of electricity, lightening, eccentricity, disruption, innovation, revolt, and that 'bolt from the blue' that no one was expecting. Also described as cosmic blinks, eclipses tend to uncover secrets especially when applied to mundane horoscopes and conditions of the Collective; plus, Uranus is often seen as a mark of genius and originality...and/or contrariness.
As you know, there are famous eclipses down through history such as those that were used to prove Einstein's Theory of Relativity: 1919's 11 South when proof efforts were disrupted by World War I, and 1922's more successful 15 North. But perhaps the granddad of eclipses--if we can count on The Histories of Herodotus--is the first-ever reliably predicted eclipse by Thales of Miletus, of Thales Planet fame. Now I know there is debate on whether Thales was predicting a solar or a lunar eclipse but I'm going with a solar eclipse until there's more evidence for a lunar one. However, since it manifested so long ago, more evidence may never come to light so let's consider the date of May 28, 585 BC.

How Thales was able to predict the eclipse back when human kind was allegedly stupid may be debated but reasonable theories do exist. Also see Historical Astrology for debunking of the theory that Thales somehow used the Saros Series for prediction.
So here's a bit on the Thales Eclipse as given by my Solar Fire v9 software and including its Sabian Symbol:

*Rudhyar continues: "The peacock is the bird consecrated to Venus; in occult tradition the Promethean Spirits who gave to animal mankind the divine gift of self-conscious intelligence had come from 'Venus'--which may or may not refer to the physical planets we can observe in the sky. {} This peacock symbol indeed confirms the social status of the ancestral state. It indicates a CONSUMMATION of individual efforts; and it suggests that such a consummation is hardly possible except when a line of 'ancestors'--biological or spiritual--forms its base."
Interesting that "self-conscious intelligence" is mentioned since cosmic blink eclipses tend to bring hidden information into the Collective's conscious awareness, and for politicians this usually indicates the ill-timed uncovering of inconvenient truths.
