Foggy Mars/Neptune Rises in America as 'Utopia' Lurks

If you have your Dec-Jan 2012 issue or online access to The Mountain Astrologer, then you've probably already read editor Tem Tarriktar's overview Peak Moments of 2012 and Forecast for Each Sign which begins by emphasizing the 8-month transit of Mars in Mercury-ruled Virgo.

Actually, our upcoming martian tale began on November 10, 2011 when Mars first entered Virgo, Mutable sign of discrimination, health, dedicated work, and 'the exploitation of every situation' (Ebertin) and is a sign and constellation intimately linked to the natal horoscope of America, circa 1776, and to goddess Ceres (Demeter) which is associated with grain, food supplies, nurturing, abundance, and protection.

US natal Ceres 8Pis41 Rx (unfortunately for the American people) conjoins to the degree our natal Pluto/Chiron midpoint (8:50), the duo of Plutocracy and oppression. Thus we see the massive efforts of the last several decades to control, adulterate, and chemically toxify the US food supply by plutocrats and corporate titans with greedy globalist dreams.

Testy Mars Stations Retrograde on US Neptune

Coming soon to a 2012 Cosmos near you is a strong Station Retrograde by Mars @ 23 Virgo (Jan 23) which conjoins a while US natal Neptune 22Vir25. This is the 'keep a low and cautious profile' transit that can inspire unwise decisions and misguided actions, things the American people have tired of groaning over since Washington so seldom listens to We The People--especially when it comes to waging war.

Quarrels, confusion, diversions, and misunderstandings abound whenever Mars squares natal Neptune--on one level a planet of spirituality yet also a planet of deceit, fraud, loss, and disappointment. So we may expect precisely the most contentious and deceptive election year that everyone has been dreading.

Efforts become murky, undermined, or eroded, and getting to the bottom of mysterious events can be next to impossible if it's possible at all. 'Who did what to whom and why' will continue to be perplexing--with the media (Neptune) implicated in most of the ruses. And of course, later in 2012, the visit of Mars to US natal Neptune in Virgo will recur which stretches 2012 into an entire smoke-and-mirrors Mars/Neptune year for the US.

Sad to say, the 'fog' (Neptune) of war (Mars) wafts upon the breeze of 2012 for any transit to US natal Neptune naturally kicks up trouble with America's problematic Mars/Neptune square of misguided, subversive, ineffectual, too-wide-a-target--or inspired--energy. So Mars at Station Rx will square our natal Mars (Virgo to Gemini), a time when physical actions are blocked (square = 90 degrees), obstacles appear intractable, and relationships with males are stressed out or broken.

Outrageously, the US government's lies into war tactic against Iran is already being promoted for as I type, excuses are being fabricated, plus, our natal Mars/Neptune square perfectly hints at Iran's threatened blockage of the Straits of Hormuz which would limit US and global oil supplies by about 1/6 with 'oil' one of Neptune's favorite liquids. The year-long Mars triggerings concur with this blockage scenario.

The Mars SQ Mars transit adds anger and rage to America's foggy Mars/Neptune scenario, and indicates a tense time when indecision adds to uncertainty and aggressive actions may be taken in spite of the evidence.

Now please note that I'm not mentioning here other 2012 planetary patterns which may support or mitigate the implications mentioned so I trust you will check out the TMA article linked above for a fuller view of what's in store for 2012; several of the pertinent horoscopes are shown.


2012 Marked (or Stained?) by US Elections

By Election Day November 6, 2012, out-of-bounds Mars will reach 21Sag49 and squares US natal Neptune (Sag to Vir) while opposing US n Mars in Gemini, a period when others are totally against our actions and purposes, and heads (Mars!) are bashed against proverbial brick walls. A sense of wasted energy and effort permeates the atmosphere under this transit as others apply an equal amount of force against us in response to American aggression. As you can tell, this is not good.

Yes, Mars in Sagittarius squaring US n Neptune denotes much confusion in the environment due to lack of organization and the poor execution of plans; logic may be missing altogether and for many, a concerted effort must be made to avoid laziness--though plenty of rationalization occurs to explain actions or lack of action in hopes of deflecting criticism while avoiding external interference.

Watch events around the New Moon of December 13, 2012 @ 21Sag45 which emphasizes the action and energy of election Mars at that degree: will election results only then be determined?

Now the pre-natal eclipse Series of Election Day 2012 is very telling but will have to be addressed more fully in a separate post concerning the Solar Eclipse of May 20, 2012 @ 00Gem21 in the 14 South Saros Series which has a Mercury/Pluto (propaganda, surveillance, obsessive ideas) flavor to it. Perhaps enlightening info may be obtained regarding '2012 in America' transits by noting the symbol for US n Neptune's degree found in Adrian Carelli's book The 360 Degrees of the Zodiac with its historical and political references which are often applicable to modern day topics.

Keeping in mind the astrological meanings of planet Neptune (god of the seas and purveyor of idealistic dreams), I shall type for you Carelli's Symbol and interpretation for '23 Virgo' and include his historical info for this degree as well since I believe it applies directly to America as the 'New World' of historical Utopians:

'23Vir' = "A man on a sailing ship in the middle of the ocean"...

"There is an irrepressible need of evasion in time and space. A nature ablaze with enthusiasm and fantasy, which will chafe if fenced in its birthplace and the mentality prevailing there.

By itself this influence will not supply the energy needed to prevail on such mentality and reform it; hence the need of escape. Campanella's Sun City (a place where the ego--Sun--rules, apparently) resonates with the idealistic shining city on a hill" slogan of Ronald Reagan and others before and after him, as The Gipper 'saw' Washington DC.

Perhaps Campanella's "imaginary skipper' describes our collective delusion that one man--"the president"--controls the helm of America's often misdirected, tiresomely ill-guided ship of state.


That Long-Standing Utopian Dream


'The City of the Sun' was written in prison by Thomas Campanella and is in large measure a part of the Utopian idealism (global government; return to chaos--'The Garden' where man's reasoning ability assures his good behavior in all things--yuh, right!) with which America is now infested as US natal IC (Homeland; Domestic Scene) has been crossed and recrossed since 2010 by Uranus in Aries ('Utopians', reformers, dreamy idealists, says Ebertin.)

Transit Uranus in 4th house marks a time of uncontrollable events, unstable conditions, and unpredictable outcomes, all of which makes Election Day 2012 results even more difficult to forecast!

Plus, on November 6, 2012, both Mars and Mercury (voting; elections; speeches, etc) are out-of-bounds of the earthly plane and thus up to their own tricks (though Mercury comes back into bounds by around 9:00 pm) which to me seems to describe on one level the voting machine irregularities, miscounts, and the voting interferences that we've come to expect from the one-world-government types with which America is currently infested.

Here on SO'W, it's been previously noted that years ago Terence McKenna predicted a "transcendent object" that would enthrall and capture our attention in the New Millennium. Perhaps we may agree that SmartPhones, iPads, and other tech gadgets perfectly fulfill McKenna's prophecy especially when you consider how many of us keep our faces stuck to various touch screen displays even while walking around (or driving--now stop that! No one is that much of a multi-tasker so please get wise to your bad self.)

Since Mr. McKenna--author, lecturer, teacher, and researcher into human consciousness including psychedelia--was correct in his futuristic prediction, I'm posting an audio presentation of him speaking that is perhaps an appropriate vehicle to putter us into Year 2012 which begins on Sunday morning January 1, 2012 at 12:00:01 am est with Sun in Capricorn, Moon in Aries.

2012: Burning Faith v Strong Skepticism

Sun Cap/Moon Aries is an Earth-Fire blend, a 'practical visionary' combination of energies that sees its main chance yet keeps its feet on the ground. This combo knows 'when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em' so we'll see if 2012 resembles that remark as the months go by--and of course, we think of presidential candidates who hopefully will know when their race is over and it's time to give up their campaigns.

The intensely willful and ambitious Sun Cap/Moon Aries blend (a hardworking Mars/Saturn-infused concoction) describes a paradoxical mixture: establishment types v rebels determined to rewrite rules and regulations. And of course, Capricorn and Aries square one another so we have conscious (Sun)--unconscious (Moon) blockage conditions indicating a year of enormous adjustments especially by those unwilling to make enough effort or get the training needed to reach their objectives.

Mundane Astrology: Sun (leader/s) v Moon (We The People)

Naturally, movements such as Occupy Wall Street and Move To Amend (Citizens United) spring to mind as examples of Leaders v The People, or, the 1% v 99% debate. Possibly newer movements will form during 2012 as well.

Capricorn contains Saturn's imperative to rule while Aries has the emphatic drive and determination of Mars as sign ruler (and Moon in Aries = I AM the people. Personally, I believe that no law officer should be issued pepper spray to use against peaceful citizens until he has been sprayed full-faced with the chemical weapon himself to see how his lungs and eyesight fare.)

Yes, Sun SQ Moon is a 'chip on shoulder' indicator so stand-offs concerning strikes, protests, unemployment issues, and ego games will continue to be in the news across the land; plus, the fighting attitude remains in Washington with a serious misalignment between desires and what people are willing to do to satisfy them.

And the Sun/Moon square from Capricorn to Aries echoes the current transit of Pluto (Cap) square Uranus (Aries), a frustrating phase in the Uranus/Pluto (revolts, riots, revolutions, explosions, major changes) cycle which began in the mid-1960s @ 17 Virgo, a crisis-critical degree.

Controlling Sun v Angry Moon!

Sun Cap/Moon Aries in particular evokes the image of a steamroller with the mental abilities and skills of a criminal lawyer. 'On to Further Conquests' is the gist of our 2012 Cap/Aries beginnings with its larger-than-life goals. This is a picture of single-mindedness which may easily end up emotionally and spiritually bankrupt (some say US government officials and most of our politicians are already that. Agreed.)

As you might expect, material rewards and business success by the shrewd will be a theme of 2012; brusqueness, insensitivity to others' needs, a restless, constant desire for excitement and challenge, and a tendency to be a sore loser will also mark many of the personalities and events of 2012.

To me it seems that the anger, rage, and discontent held within the Jan 1, 2012 Sun-Moon square are primarily prompted by the ongoing corruption within the ruling Capricorn structures of society because Cap's ruler, Saturn, is never amused by being dissed--disrespected--by incorrect behavior and corruption which leave Saturn's responsibilities unfulfilled and shuns its sense of accountability, two facets of Saturn and its sign Capricorn which cannot be ignored or neglected without a heavy price being attached.

Perhaps the "Images for Integration" of the conscious/unconscious levels with which we begin 2012 may be of interest to you since they involve Politics, Banking, and Bandits:

Sometimes when people try to be 'too clever by half' they end up out-doing themselves instead of the people they work so hard to best. At least, my hope is that this is the case with the current Political Theater now showing on a Capitol Hill whose hijinks threaten to mess with Christmas 2011 for millions of disappointed Americans.

So far, no wrapping is needed for we can clearly see that the American people's gift from the GOP as we enter 2012 is to be held hostage to ideological zealotry and an oath taken to what they consider a higher authority than the American people: Grover Norquist, famous for his no-tax-no-government psychosis of futurist utopianism.

Click 'Grover Norquist' to view his natal horoscope where you can see the elusive, mask-wearing Sun/Neptune conjunction which is now being restricted by transiting Saturn in late Libra and forming a midpoint picture--n Sun/Neptune = tr Saturn: having the discipline to shape reality through dreams (of drowning babies in bathwater--jc): persistence in working toward dreams and ideals; frustrations in attaining goals (Munkasey.)

Yes, the realism and accountability of Saturn more clearly identifies and calls to task Mr. Norquist's ego-based (Sun) other-worldly dreams (Neptune) of complete control (Saturn) over Washington politicians, policies, plans, and ideals (Mercury and Jupiter.)

Did you hear that Hades has frozen over? For even Republican strategist and Turdblossom Karl Rove has told the GOP to cut bait and move beyond the December 2011 tax cut stalemate. Wow.


Frustration Creates Impasse! And It Shows in GOP Progressions

During the US Congress' debt ceiling-default-credit downgrade fiasco of late July-early August 2011, you may remember that a horoscope of the Republican Party's Secondary Progressions was posted to SO'W showing a crisis-riddled YOD pattern between Mercury, Jupiter, and Ascendant which has now evolved into the tangled yarn of political strategy that GOP leaders now, some say, must extricate themselves from, thanks in large part to the gridlock agenda of Tea Party members along with betrayal issues between Speak John Boehner and the 'Judas' standing behind him, Eric Cantor, if what some say is true about their rivalry.

Well, the 'grand ideas and plans' of Mercury/Jupiter at the base of the YOD does seem to have GOP knickers in a twist--and since I posted the above chart, their Secondary Progressed ('Sec') Ascendant--the Party itself--has reached a 29th crisis-critical degree (29Gem+) which points to the current impasse concerning the payroll tax cut extension, unemployment insurance extension, and the poison pill provisions that certain industries slipped into the bill--all of which shows symptoms of GOP ideological illness and a meeting at the crossroads at least partially described by the party's Sec YOD.

Now I agree that the US government has become an overgrown gorilla yet under the guiding hand of current ideologues, 'anti-government' turns out to be a cover for 'anti-society' as more and more Americans fall underneath the weight of politicians working against us, not for us.


Can Jupiter in Venus-Ruled Taurus Beg to Differ?

With the potential for a marred-by-politics holiday approaching, Astrology tells a brightening tale of Republican Party significator Jupiter about to Direct Station on Christmas Day 2011, in money sign Taurus (@ 00:22.) Will this forward move soon be expressed on the physical plane by a Republican change of strategy?

Looks like it! And it seems we may be able to pin our dreams for social improvement and congressional bill passing on that important turn of direction and hope that jolly Jupiter, planet of abundance, material gain, and ideology--and one of our solar system's two societal planets--will enter 2012 with a forward tilt and workable, cooperative plans for solving our nation's problems caused in large part by the severe and growing imbalance of income inequality now bedeviling the hard working American people.

So although Jupiter is the patron planet of actors and acting (and Capitol Hill politicians are more thespians than problem-solvers), it's actually We The People who deserve an abundant end-of-year holiday--from the self-destructiveness of the US Congress and its current panoply of useful idiots.

Alex Jones (video 12.21.11) w North Korea's Moon now eclipsed

First let me express sincere condolences to the good people of North Korea who are in mourning for the loss on December 17, 2011 of Kim Jong Il, their 'Dear Leader'.

He was a complex man and the people's sense of loss must be overwhelming even for those whose state-imposed displays of bereavement are acts of self-preservation and habit more than of deep grief for one difficult man. The North Korean people's already perilous conditions and the crossroads which the passing of the Communist-monarchical mantle presents them brings tremendous collective anxieties; plus, the suddenness of such a tragic event adds much intensity to their emotional shock as The Masses face life without the familiar father figure they've come to know (only too well, as some might say.)


2011 North Korea: a People Eclipsed by a 'Peculiar Turn of Events'

A momentous event was promised for the North Korean people by the 'peculiar turn of events' November 25, 2011 Solar Eclipse @ 2Sag37 which 'eclipsed' North Korea's 1st house natal Moon 2Sag17 (the people, the populace; ASC 24Sco58; transit Uranus now squares natal Uranus 00Can15 in 8th H of Death and Transformation--emotional shock) in the country's natal horoscope set for September 9, 1948 12:00 pm P'yongyang, NK.

(Source: US Dept of State; Nicholas Campion's Book of World Horoscopes gives one day later which changes little but the Moon's position so I'm taking the November 2011 Solar Eclipse 'hit' to the 2Sag17 Moon position of Sept 9 as a reasonable confirmation that 'September 9, 1948' is the correct date for the establishment of North Korea.)

And yes, the 'peculiar turn of events' flavor of the Nov 25, 2011 Solar Eclipse does make me wonder for one brief moment if a human hand helped speed Kim Jong Il on to his ultimate destination far beyond his train's final station. Why, actors pretend to assassinate by 'heart attack' in movies and on TV all the time, the little dickenses. Actually, the North Korean leader had been recuperating well from his stroke in 2008, I heard somewhere--until last Saturday morning when his health took a peculiar turn for the worst.

May 2012: Tears and Fears

Warily I should mention that the May 20, 2012 Solar Eclipse @ 00Gem21 ('unsettling times') also 'eclipses' the Moon of North Korea giving us all 'something to cry about' due to the eclipse conjoining difficult star Alcyone, one of the Weeping Sisters. Key themes for Alcyone's potential influence: inner vision, a search for knowledge, exile, suffering, ruthlessness, judgmental anger.

Though the horoscope for the May 2012 eclipse is not yet published by this astrologer, you may be able to locate it online with little effort, if it's posted. An eclipse in the sign of Gemini indicates that affected issues will relate to mercurial things such as: communications, news, travel, trade, commerce, negotiations, contracts, treaties, and young people.

Now the political facets of this unexpected change-of-leadership as its import and the fears associated with it boomerang around the globe are much too varied for one limited post though I do admit to a hope Kim Jong Un will be more open to considering varied perspectives rather than clinging to provincial, blinders-on attitudes of the past. (We can all resemble that remark, personally and politically!)

Remember to Move To Amend Citizens United!

US Iraq withdrawal a "smokescreen"-- John Pilger (video) w Mars/Neptune smoke

(GRTV) – Announcing the Iraq war was ended, Barack Obama told US troops on 14 December 2011, “The United States military is the finest fighting force in the history of the world.”

What he didn’t say is that since 1945 the US military has been directly responsible for the deaths of over 10 million people and that America has in that time overthrown 50 governments, including democracies, and intervened in at least 30 more.

John Pilger has something to say about that:



Mr. Pilger makes very good points as always but to my mind, it isn't just America doing these things according to her own plans, it's globalists directing her as she acts as their military arm on the world stage for their ultimate goal of world domination.

Then there's the question of Iraq coming more under foreign domination with Iran leading the bunch. Bush screwed up every business he ran before he played president, so it's a given that he'd screw up Iraq and turn the nation into a Christmas gift for Iran.

Well, if you keep up with Astrology you know that demonstrated here in the real world is that dratted conjunction between President Obama's planet of war, Mars, and US natal Neptune obscuring his true motivations and actions. This synchronicity between 1776 and 1961 (Obama's birth) triggers--or as war profiteers might say, supports--America's smokey fog of war tendencies, Mars square Neptune, which makes it easy for others to bamboozle us while Washington seems to think America is being so very very smart.

Of course, some people might say that our tiresome Mars/Neptune square energies now waft around Capitol Hill this week and through the Halls of Power as Congress plays games with the American people's lives.

But like a caller said a few minutes ago on C-SPAN's Washington Journal: I really don't care whether member of Congress get their holiday vacations this year since they've allowed Tea Party members to ruin the Christmas of people and their kids who depend on unemployment insurance benefits for next year.

So what does Stars Over Washington want for Christmas?

A government that gets its act together on behalf of the American people who sent their members to Capitol Hill to 'do the people's business'--and which stops trying to dissolve or collapse itself on instruction from foreign agents and the crime bosses that some call "global bankers."

Below is a video gleaned from today's Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman interviewing the fellow who blew the whistle on whistle blower Bradley Manning who apparently leaked US helicopter draconianism and mayhem to Julian Assange's organization, WikiLeaks.

Adrian Lamo discusses topics that concern Pvt. Manning and Manning's tortuous treatment by a US government of bureaucrats and technocrats who don't appreciate having the ugly underbelly of war suddenly revealed in such stark relief to an agog public already uncertain that America has any legal right to invade and occupy foreign lands while indiscriminately raining death and destruction down upon the heads of innocent people...and then lying about it.

Why, anyone with a brain that isn't reptilian knows that karma (by which I refer to reaping what was sown) will be just as, or more, grievous when it comes round for payment due to the massive amounts of misery America has dealt the world by way of our government's political, military, and social actions. Actions have re-actions which result in unintended consequences of the "blow-back" kind, as the C.I.A. once nicknamed this karmic phenomenon.

And being treated to performances by a theatrically rehearsed White House administration and staff doesn't change the fact that a natural law waits for no man, and when the time comes, even the best-heeled heels in the board rooms of the global power elite will pay their karmic debts.

(And won't they be surprised? You think you get away with something, then Boom! the red dye explodes all over your greedy mitts and you're nabbed.)

As you know, it's been over 18 months' detention under grave conditions for Pvt. Manning so far. Yet if Pvt. Manning leaked classified information, he did so, not through prescribed military channels which would be protected under the 1988 Act, but to the techie services of Julian Assange who would publish the sensitive info unto the Universe.

And you know? I believe the Universe appreciates truth and has no time for well-crafted lies, imperial or otherwise. But that's just me talkin', not the Washington establishment.

The second applying aspect of the Moon is a dreamy trine with Neptune 28AQ35 in 8th H of Shared Resources, Debt, Credit, Insurance, Big Business, Corporations, etc, for the 8th is Scorpio's natural house in our Western Tropical Zodiac, or at least in popular astrological thought. Perhaps the media (Neptune) will polish up the congressional story for our happy consumption--and the trine will only make their fakery easier to promote and to accept at face value by a gullible public.

How Maliki and Iran Outsmarted US Troop Withdrawal peeks underneath our military tent but with little face-saving as we clear out as per Iran's instructions, some are saying.

As the last of US troops arrived in Kuwait this morning "around daybreak" after a necessarily secretive journey under cover of night, transit Saturn 27Lib17 was in 10th house (World Stage) and heading toward local Midheaven (MC 10Lib22) but America's natal Saturn 14Lib48 arrived at MC first.

Will the US troop withdrawal be seen by the world as a "fall from grace", the most karmic of implications for any 10th H Saturn? (ex: Richard Nixon was born with Saturn in 10th H.) As part of the process, I should imagine, especially after the interminable 8-year reign of Wussy Bush and Shotgun Cheney with their imperilist dreams of global conquest.

Puh!

This does, however, place the problematic conjunction of US natal Neptune and President Obama's natal Mars front and center and I imagine that discrepancies concerning what may be our 'non-withdrawal withdrawal' will begin to surface more obviously soon--since our national Neptune veils and obscures BHO's Mars (motivation; desire nature; action) in fussy Virgo so that things are not fully revealed at this early juncture--and may never be, if Obama's globalist masters have their NWO way.

The Mars/Neptune duo rising may show that issues coming up concern members of our misdirected military such as wounded troops; matters to do with gas, oil, poisons, diseases and infections may be rising as well and of course, the GOP will try to poison everything they can on these topics without pointing fingers at themselves (again, please read the above linked article about the outmaneuvering of the smartypants twins, Bush and Cheney.) It's doubtful that Mr. Obama will be allowed to crow for very long with Republicans croakingly echoing Rove's talking points against a Democratic White House in mainstream media and in GOP-based media like FOX News.

Yet naturally, political animal President Obama hopes for a 'bump' in his poll numbers and an increase in the Democratic voter turn-out in November 2012. Guess we'll be hearing more of what our soldiers really think of Barack Obama as the political campaign grinds on and though I've not had a chance to post the Inauguration 2013 horoscope yet, I do think astrologically that Mr. Obama has an edge toward winning a second term.

So many mixed feelings sweep over me as I watch the flag ceremony. You know? Never wanted either war, Afghanistan or Iraq, knew they'd be Vietnam-esque and they are of the quagmire variety of collective experiences...brutal and soul-shattering.

And so our national soul is soiled once again and the stains are deep. 'Old men start wars for young men to fight' is as true a maxim today as it was whenever someone first strung the words together and said, Hmmph!
