Sometimes when people try to be 'too clever by half' they end up out-doing themselves instead of the people they work so hard to best. At least, my hope is that this is the case with the current Political Theater now showing on a Capitol Hill whose hijinks threaten to mess with Christmas 2011 for millions of disappointed Americans.

So far, no wrapping is needed for we can clearly see that the American people's gift from the GOP as we enter 2012 is to be held hostage to ideological zealotry and an oath taken to what they consider a higher authority than the American people: Grover Norquist, famous for his no-tax-no-government psychosis of futurist utopianism.

Frustration Creates Impasse! And It Shows in GOP Progressions

During the US Congress' debt ceiling-default-credit downgrade fiasco of late July-early August 2011, you may remember that a horoscope of the Republican Party's Secondary Progressions was posted to SO'W showing a crisis-riddled YOD pattern between Mercury, Jupiter, and Ascendant which has now evolved into the tangled yarn of political strategy that GOP leaders now, some say, must extricate themselves from, thanks in large part to the gridlock agenda of Tea Party members along with betrayal issues between Speak John Boehner and the 'Judas' standing behind him, Eric Cantor, if what some say is true about their rivalry.

Well, the 'grand ideas and plans' of Mercury/Jupiter at the base of the YOD does seem to have GOP knickers in a twist--and since I posted the above chart, their Secondary Progressed ('Sec') Ascendant--the Party itself--has reached a 29th crisis-critical degree (29Gem+) which points to the current impasse concerning the payroll tax cut extension, unemployment insurance extension, and the poison pill provisions that certain industries slipped into the bill--all of which shows symptoms of GOP ideological illness and a meeting at the crossroads at least partially described by the party's Sec YOD.

Now I agree that the US government has become an overgrown gorilla yet under the guiding hand of current ideologues, 'anti-government' turns out to be a cover for 'anti-society' as more and more Americans fall underneath the weight of politicians working against us, not for us.


Can Jupiter in Venus-Ruled Taurus Beg to Differ?

With the potential for a marred-by-politics holiday approaching, Astrology tells a brightening tale of Republican Party significator Jupiter about to Direct Station on Christmas Day 2011, in money sign Taurus (@ 00:22.) Will this forward move soon be expressed on the physical plane by a Republican change of strategy?

Looks like it! And it seems we may be able to pin our dreams for social improvement and congressional bill passing on that important turn of direction and hope that jolly Jupiter, planet of abundance, material gain, and ideology--and one of our solar system's two societal planets--will enter 2012 with a forward tilt and workable, cooperative plans for solving our nation's problems caused in large part by the severe and growing imbalance of income inequality now bedeviling the hard working American people.

Now there's a basic reason I've often mentioned on this blog Washington's Capitol Hill Theater - it's all theater, dahlink. They don't govern in Washington, they manipulate us while serving their corporate masters. And their illusory D v R-lib v con-blue v red script keeps we-the-people divided and conquered. So please stop following a political 'party' and follow OUR best interests - for someone needs to.

And yes, I heard that President Obama has announced his 2012 candidacy online which was to be expected. However, I don't care who plays the role of Mouthpiece-in-Chief, it's how cruelly they dissolve our republic and sovereignty, destroy our freedom documents, ignore our social contract between the generations, and further disenfranchise the American people - those things matters most to me.

How inconvenient the Tea Party must have seemed to them for a time! But they quickly recovered when the Koch Brothers and others took over what was originally a grassroots movement. Now, like 99% of Washington politicians, the Tea Party has become a tool of corporatism.

Government Shutdown New Moon 3.4.11 w Shutdown 1995

Thinking of a potential government shutdown on March 4, 2011 if Washington politicians can't do any better, I searched for info on the last time they came to outs (with the rest of us stuck in the middle.)

Government shutdown 1995 actually occurred in two clumps: Nov 14 through Nov 19, 1995 and from Dec 16, 1995 to Jan 6, 1996. I remember the disgust we-the-people felt that they couldn't do things any better than that, and the relief when the varmints infesting Capitol Hill resumed business.

The primary combatants in 1995 were President Bill Clinton and Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich after Clinton refused to sign the budget bill of the Republicans.

For a glimmer of the budget shutdown issues entrancing Washington on December 7, 1995 I scouted out a video from the C-SPAN Video Library for you. It's about 3 hours long but is worth the time if you're interested. As you see by the date, the program was broadcast in between the two shutdown episodes and it includes several issues such as a discussion of the Gingrich ethics probe. An appearance by Sander Levin is worth noting as well.

One important midpoint picture from late 1995 into 1996 pops out:

Saturn-Pluto = Neptune disguised uses of power; defects in planning for important activities (my fret: that in 2011, they've refined their methods); improbable effects from excessive activities of the past; unstable life situation because of the inexplicable, because of fear; falsehoods, lies, frauds; a desire to harm others secretly; immorality; instability; shattered nerves. There were several difficult transits to the US natal horoscope in 1995 and 1996. Some of the major ones are:

To make Clinton look bad to the American people just as the potential shutdown on March 4, 2011 is designed to trip up President Obama - along with the GOP's general take-over plan for a one-ruling-party government, then as now.)

This transit began didn't become exact until April 2, 1996; there were five hits, the last one occurring on Nov 14, 1997:

Tr Neptune conjuncts n Pluto Rx 27Cap33: dissolution of power; treachery, poison, or plague can remove the current leader or the system.

As you know, Bill Clinton was re-elected and sworn in for his second term on January 20, 1997 in spite of the R v D political theater which involved a shutdown of the US government - and Clinton's sexcapades. Bill was a wily cuss, wasn't he?

Will They Shut Us Down Again?

The potential shutdown date is March 4, 2011, and on that afternoon a New Moon occurs @ 13Pis56, in 8th house of Shared Resources and Debt with the chart set for the Capitol Building. Also in 8th H are Mercury, confused or deceptive in Pisces, and disruptive rebel Uranus at a troubling 29th degree of critical conditions (29Pis36 direct.)

ASC 17Leo19 brings chart-ruler Sun's applying aspects into focus yet there is only one (shared by the Moon, of course): an inconjunct from Saturn Rx 16Lib02 in 3rd H.

Sun inconjunct restrictive Saturn, planet of government, indicates taking advantage of others or of being taken advantage of; it describes a taking-things-one-step-at-a-time condition with a vibe of eagerness to be accepted by others. That Saturn is Rx may be help or hindrance to the question of a shutdown since delays are indicated. Unfortunately for the American people, the delay may describe the cessation of governmental workings.

Moon inconj Saturn shows undercurrents of guilt, uneasiness, and exploitation. The Moon in a mundane chart represents the people, as you know; representing the people on Capitol Hill has become an elusive goal for our recalcitrant politicians.

Now the New Moon falls at apex of two midpoints: one, Mercury/Mars is one of strong opinions and with Sun there, we find great determination to succeed; with Moon, we have a potential for clearing the air by talking things out, and emotional quarrels.

And last but not least: the Uranus-Neptune pair of enlightenment, the new world order culprits from their Great Conjunction/s of 1993 ('18Cap' = POLITICAL POWER = neg: smug or strong-armed paternalism, which to me sounds like the 2011 version of the Republican Party forcing their methods, fanaticism, prejudices, and agenda upon our nation.)

Uranus-Neptune = Sun: impassivity; impressionability; lack of vitality (uh-oh); vaunted self-regard.

Uranus-Neptune = Moon: a sense of being on the right track to do one's best; emotional convictions, real or imagined.

Well, that's a brief astro-peek at the issue of government shutdown 1995 v 2011. Let's close with the Sabian Symbol for the New Moon of March 4, 2011:

Hidden Agenda 2011

The 3 days prior to the New Moon and just after are the Dark of the Moon when secret activities and deals can easily take place under the table. That we-the-people would be harmed by a shutdown with 2011 financial conditions so dire for so many is a given, but we'll see whether a shutdown of Capitol Hill Theater proportions actually occurs and which political party suffers most for it during Campaign 2012.

112th Congress = "Swords" vs "Torches"?

In his weekly radio address today President Obama has called for Republicans to stop their symbolic battles, battles which seem to this blogger to be meant in part as a salve to the Tea Partisans watching GOPers closely for backtracking on their promises to do things differently than Congress' previous sorriness.

And the millions of dollars that GOP 'symbolism' has cost the US taxpayer during only half a week of this session belies the Republican Party's whines over the national debt. Guess they think our bucks are worth their gamble and they (and Dems) certainly have much past experience with such cynical calculations.

Now if you, dear reader, are familiar with the Sabian Symbols for each degree of the zodiac (360 degrees), you know of one that's quite esoteric in its imagery and which may apply here, namely 'A Symbolical Battle Between the "Swords" and the "Torches".' (Rudhyar.)

Let's examine the meaning of this symbol to see if anything shakes out concerning the current Capitol Hill Political Theater the GOP has been making (what they hope is) political hay with.

Rudhyar's 'Keynote: Refusing to depend upon the past, the seeker turns warrior, fighting anew the eternal "Great War".' (A World War I reference. jc)

Now I won't quote all that Dane Rudhyar wrote about the degree - the Bodhi Tree and spiritual light vs ego-will (though ego-will and global-ruling ideology are the basis of GOP desperation to win back the White House) - however, his last words concerning '17Tau' may make some sense to us within the political realm of Washington and the 112th Congress' first week of symbolic mummery:

(This symbol) "suggests that salvation is attained through the emergent individual's readiness to face all issues as if there were only two opposed sides. So teaches the Bhagavad-Gita. This is the dharma of this stage of human evolution: a stage of POLARIZATION OF VALUES. (An Astrological Mandala.)

In his The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Marc Edmund Jones gives '17Tau' the Keyword: 'RESOLUTION...

positive expression: high organizational skill and an ability to bring the magic of understanding to any specific difficulty;

neg/unconscious/shadow side: a loss of self-competence through the conflicting compulsion of necessity and desire'.

(Blog note: though I seldom think to mention it, I am the very varmint who adds "unconscious/shadow side" to Jones' 'negative' expression of the symbols because it seems more descriptive. jc)

Perhaps Adriano Carelli has something to say about '17Tau' in his The 360 Degrees of the Zodiac:

"The vision St. Thomas of Aquino had while trying to fathom the mystery of God's unity and trinity; a child trying to drain the ocean with a pitcher."

Carelli's explanation of this symbol includes: "I do not need your advice, I can make mistakes myself!" And, in speaking of a native with this degree prominent, he states, "He is in for unceasing, often wasted labors which will not make him move a step forward. There is a guilty light-mindedness; the native will believe that he can solve single-handed and in his own way certain problems which impose on natural laws, as those of economics, dynamics and the like."

Hmmm. If we replace 'a child' with 'new congress member' and trying to drain the 'ocean' with the word, 'swamp' (which Washington DC is built upon), we may be on to something: new congress members wasting labor and believing they can single-handedly and in their own way drain the swamp of Washington, a campaign promise so old it's gray around the muzzle. And all they really have at their disposal is a pitcher!

For more details on the current state of our Congress, I looked at outer planet transits to the US Congress natal horoscope (Nov 17, 1800) and found that confusing, deceptive, delusional, fraudulent (though often inspired) Neptune is slightly more active than Uranus or Pluto at this time.

Neptune square (90 degrees = blockages; obstacles) natal Sun 25Sco: self-image is infused with disorientation, confusion, and a sense of unreality; it's hard to know how to satisfy one's ego demands or where to direct one's will power; positions of leadership, integrity, honesty, principles, and standards are difficult to sustain or attain; if determined and capable, one realizes that what seems to be reality actually is not (it's only Capitol Hill Theater, dahlink!)

Neptune opposite natal Saturn 24Leo: one's mature judgment, strength of authority, and hard work are threatened by illegal actions (like 2 Rs not taking their congressional oath because of attending their own fundraiser next door?), bankruptcy, fraud, deception, and unknown or disillusioned people (!); severe challenges test the ability or willingness to overcome obstacles, or to squelch inner fears; past traditions and structures become misguided, ambiguous, or subverted; previous responsibilities may disappear or dissolve with nothing good apt to take their place.

Neptune conjunct n Pluto 2Pis: power dissolves; treachery or poison can remove the current system of power and control; circumstances may allow the rise of those with religious, psychic, or spiritualist powers (who are not witches, one presumes.)

The only major aspect of Uranus now to Congress' natal chart is its coming opposition to its natal position: Congress will have a midlife crisis all through 2011 (March, November, and December)! This Uranus/Uranus opposition last occurred about 84 years ago: in April 1927, October 1927, and February 1928. The inflationary economics of the late 1920s seem all too familiar, don't they?

Uranus opposite n Uranus 00Lib47 (conjunct US n MC in the Sibly chart): generations clash; oldsters feel outdated by a wave of newcomers (awww!) and there's an unwillingness to give up the unique qualities of one's generation (age group); little meeting of the minds takes place.

(Plus, transiting Jupiter to Aries Point has and will oppose n Uranus, a time of cat-herding when everyone tends to wander off in their own directions so that organizing and scheduling group activities is made difficult; Jupiter increases the effects of Congress' Uranus opposition and its crisis implications.)

Pluto inconjunct n Jupiter 4Leo: significant adjustments are necessary to justify one's knowledge and ideals; feeling overwhelmed about social responsibilities; opportunism; a need to yield to real tasks and be constructive; others may victimize in order to serve their own interests; motives may be murky and there's a requirement to understand one's surroundings more fully.

Pluto square n Uranus: political and intellectual changes occur that benefit a new generation, and questioning their historical implications is appropriate.

Rep Anthony Weiner's Rant in the House (video)

Oh you just know I have to post this rant from Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) from yesterday, right? He's calling out Republicans on blocking a bill that would provide free health care for those affected by the toxins of 9/11/01 and his performance gives new oomph and verve to my assertion that it's all Capitol Hill Theater, dahlink!

Actually, Weiner's asertion that the Republicans' objection to the bill on 'procedural grounds' is to give each other cover makes the point as well - anyway, check out this brief video if you've managed to miss it thus far - Weiner wasn't whining, he was yelling. Me likee.

It also illustrates that the continuing 'anything to make Obama fail' ploy of a frustrated, voted-from-the-White-House GOP isn't serving the American people well unless you're a frustrated GOPer yourself - then you may think it's peachy the way things are (not) going.

Well, if you are (and are for unknown reasons reading this populist, common good blog) then I sarcastically thank you for 8 years of Bush-Cheney and the neocon-Zionist wars that have bankrupted our nation and brought such grief and misery to the Middle East and to so many US soldiers and their families.

Bad show. Bad form. Bad politics.

Sanders' Audit the Fed amendment breathing shallowly

Right now (9:57 am edt) Senator Bernie Sanders is answering callers' questions on C-SPAN's Washington Journal and his Audit the Fed amendment has gained some play today on Capitol Hill.

If the Sanders amendment is allowed to tag along on reform legislation (which so far sounds quite toothless) will it lead to anything useful for the American taxpayer or merely entertain us with yet another trifling performance of the infamous Capitol Hill Theater?

Now here's a post from Jan 2008 which I began with a quote from Senator Sanders and which displays the horoscope (sans my notations) of the *Generation of Materialism, aka the Robber Baron class, which is timed astrologically by the New Moon 8Tau14 of April 28, 1881, as noted by E. A House of Cards Always Topples

The credit card industry is one example of a concentrated effort to place millions of people 'under obligation' with the lure of easy, instant luxury and the promise of riches that only the Robber Baron and banker classes can truly 'enjoy'.

As I've blogged here previously, it's the Robber Baron class' modern spawn (biological or ideological) who now bedevil our society and undermine it with corruption and greed so out of bounds that the world's financial system has been shoved to the precipice of total collapse...and right on schedule, after they've made their riches by robbing and exploiting others while funneling collective dollars into their private and corporate accounts.

And enriched America made the perfect vehicle.

Ds call Rs' bluff on joining Public Option - video

Sometimes Capitol Hill Theater can be tres amusing!

Since senators and representatives have been on the public dole with their Cadillac health care all along, the ploy on Thursday (Dec 3) by Senators Coburn and Vitter to further gum up passage of health reform makes a lot of sense: all senators and reps must enroll in the public option program, "no other possibilities, no other choices," said Vitter to The Hill.

But the Rs weren't attempting to make sense, they were proposing an amendment that they assumed the Ds would oppose thus making Dem efforts for a public option seem hypocritical. (Memo to GOP: precious few of you in Congress need help with hypocrisy - you're past and present masters.)

As Senator Coburn said about the Rs' tricky amendment, "It's called leadership. If it's good enough for everybody else, we ought to be leading by example."

Hurrah! Now that would be a novelty on Capitol Hill - leading, and by example, too! Next thing you know, Congress will be retrieving its oversight duties and stepping up to our constitutional plate.

One-upsmanship: by unanimous consent vote, Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Al FRanken (D-MN), and other Ds have been added as co-sponsors of the Republican amendment. Now what do you think are the chances for reform passage with the public option for government reps attached? Nil? Or none?

Hey, wait a minute. If this amendment stands as the bill is ultimately voted up or down, will it be merely one of the reasons that health insurance reform crashes altogether? Hope not. But I think my total lack of trust in my 'elected' officials' good faith on our behalf is showing. Again.

Okay, Capitol Hill politicians, we're down to Health 'Insurance' Reform and some of you are still bucking the idea of an America where decent, timely health care is available to all the nation's citizens at reasonable costs. Now I know many of you have stock portfolios that may suffer a bit if the health, pharma, and insurance industries have their paws slammed in the great cookie jar by new legislation that aids and empowers the common good by putting corporate profits at abeyance. You can afford lower returns on your investments in the health industry sector for you have other lucrative cookie jars at your disposals.

And with my very low opinion of your morals, I believe that population control is part of your plans as you underfeed and un-house millions, prevent lower classes from getting medical care they need (including those made ill from eating chemical-laced foods your other portfolio pals invented), and outsourcing, then failing, to create jobs with which we may attempt to decently support our families.

But putting that belief aside, I ask you now to step out of the way, put controls on health care costs, and repair the health care mess you've allowed and enabled. If you don't step out of the way, your lack of common decency and shriveled humanitarian instincts will continue to hang out like a street walker's frilly bra strap which seems okay by you, for your plans include being ready for the revolution you're working furiously to inspire.

The anti-public-option ruling class should be ashamed that Americans must resort to free clinics and that some patients' conditions are beyond medical intervention due to lack of timely care. Since the Senate Judiciary Committee just voted Yes today (13 to 6) on Sonia Sotomayor's Supreme Court nomination with the full vote probably sceduled for next week, I googled 'Sonia Sotomayor + Bohemian Grove' to see if her name popped up and whaddaya know?

The judge is said to have resigned recently from her membership in the ladies' version of this group which met in California last week for their annual shindig of satanic rituals so it wouldn't disgruntle anyone voting for her - with their constituents, I imagine.

The presser will be held during a Saturn Hour though Saturn 16Vir06 (Democratic Party) has risen and is in the behind-the-scenes 12th house.

ASC 23Vir54, so chart-ruler Mercury (pressers; announcements; speeches; reporters; communications; trade and commerce, etc) is in 9th house at 12Gem01, conjunct the Descendant in the US natal 'Sibly' chart (5:10 pm lmt, you know the date); Mercury makes only one applying aspect in the chart which clues us in to how the presser will proceed...a square to Saturn (4A05.)

This indicates some difficulty in communicating one's authority and control of matters, yet Mercury has natural abilities being positioned in one of its own signs, Gemini, the communicator's sign.

The dissociate T-Square is still within orb to Uranus 26Pisc36 which is setting (Desc 23Pisc54), so again we may consider the midpoint picture formed as the Sun/Pluto opposition points to apex Uranus, the reformer...

After a tiny respite for public relations effect, the US Congress is once gain accepting campaign donations from bailed-out banks which are again their personal piggybanks at taxpayers' expense - and even corporate-welfared GM and Chrysler are donating big bucks to keep our crooked politicians wallowing in the fatcat clover of Washington.

This is the sort of news that makes anyone (who continues to claim that there is no class warfare against the common man and woman) aware at last of Pluto-Chiron's game of oppression which keeps the disenfranchised down. And please - anyone still under the influence of the 'Rs vs Ds' myth - fuggeddabowdit!

Notice who is in we-the-people's corner - it isn't the US Congress with their Capitol Hill Theater productions that amount to little or nothing of merit, their secret meetings to plot against us, or their freakish 'crowning' of Sun Myung Moon (among many other things we would disapprove of if we knew about them. It's difficult to believe they did it, but you can view the video of the crazy ceremony!)

Ron Paul on Stimulus Bill: video

Ron Paul says there were only 5 copies of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act made available to congressional members which was "business as usual," says Dr. Paul.

Perhaps someone should have snagged the copy that Boehner dropped to the floor in (mock?) contempt.

Rep. Paul is correct on their usual sorry ways, for sure, but they never seem to read - or have their staffers read - the bills they pass anyway (except the parts they may sponsor.)

So if five of them had read the thing before voting, that would be 5 more than usual! And I doubt that Boehner had time to read it before he dropped it.

Have you watched or heard the performances on Capitol Hill today?

The financial wizards are playing their woeful parts, with congressional actors as the slow-downers but the results will tell whether this is a crime of theatrics or whether Congress holds onto what's left of its oversight responsibilities.

Without oversight, American tax payers (apparently the lenders of last resort) will have no confidence that a fair price is being paid. We were vulnerable to Wall Street fraud before and now we're supposed to trust them to solve their own pickle by using our money!

Well, at 9:30 am edt this morning on Capitol Hill, the rising degree was 00Sco44 bringing the natal Sun of the New World Order into the House.

(The great Conjunction of Uranus and Neptune marks the official NWO chart I use - all through 1993 they met...I use the third and final conj of Oct 24, 1993, 1:11 pm EDT, Wash DC, as the entity's natal chart.)

In the NWO's natal chart, Asc = 12Cap52, so right away we see that the current position of Jupiter 12Cap55, sits fortuitously upon NWO's natal Asc. In fact, the weekend of Sept 7, when moneybags Jupiter performed his Direct Station 12Cap32, he held round-the-clock meetings as the bailout charade began.

I believe the "third wing" relates to Paulson's overly expansive new powers. We're going to be sorry about this.

Congress eyes FBI's Ivins case

It's Monday, Congress is back on Capitol Hill for 3 weeks and has sent a letter to FBI Director Robert Mueller asking him nicely to show up in front of the House Judiciary Committee (probably on Sept 16 & 17) to answer a few outstanding questions about the case against Dr. Bruce Ivins.

The New York Times has this:

Seeking Details, Lawmakers Cite Anthrax Doubts in which we are reminded that the post-9/11 anthrax letters contained none of Bruce Ivins' DNA, which must surely be an inconvenient fact for Mueller who will be asked about how investigators eliminated the 100+ people who also had access to the culpable flasks of anthrax.

Bruce Ivins, as you know, committed suicide (we're told) the night of July 29, 2008, so Congress' questions to Mueller may be the only chance the American people have for any closure whatsoever concerning the terroristic anthrax letters of 2001 since the death of Dr. Ivins negates the possibility of a trial.

You remember that the FBI pursued the wrong man for years in this case, Dr. Steven J. Hatfield, who in June settled a lawsuit against the FBI for $4.6 million. Guess we taxpayers pay the piper, but good for Dr. Hatfield whose career was ruined by FBI scrutiny and innuendo.

Looking back at July 29, Saturn (law, authority, accountability) was in a quindecile aspect with nebulous, often obfuscating Neptune.

A quindecile aspect (165 degrees) gives a compulsive-obsessive flavor to the planets involved and you may wish to keep the FBI-Ivins case in mind as Congress applies itself to the case - or as the law-makers simply produce another matinee of political theater on Capitol Hill that goes nowhere and results in exactly nada.
