Stars Over Washington December 19, 2011
Below is a video gleaned from today's Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman interviewing the fellow who blew the whistle on whistle blower Bradley Manning who apparently leaked US helicopter draconianism and mayhem to Julian Assange's organization, WikiLeaks.
Adrian Lamo discusses topics that concern Pvt. Manning and Manning's tortuous treatment by a US government of bureaucrats and technocrats who don't appreciate having the ugly underbelly of war suddenly revealed in such stark relief to an agog public already uncertain that America has any legal right to invade and occupy foreign lands while indiscriminately raining death and destruction down upon the heads of innocent people...and then lying about it.
Why, anyone with a brain that isn't reptilian knows that karma (by which I refer to reaping what was sown) will be just as, or more, grievous when it comes round for payment due to the massive amounts of misery America has dealt the world by way of our government's political, military, and social actions. Actions have re-actions which result in unintended consequences of the "blow-back" kind, as the C.I.A. once nicknamed this karmic phenomenon.
And being treated to performances by a theatrically rehearsed White House administration and staff doesn't change the fact that a natural law waits for no man, and when the time comes, even the best-heeled heels in the board rooms of the global power elite will pay their karmic debts.
(And won't they be surprised? You think you get away with something, then Boom! the red dye explodes all over your greedy mitts and you're nabbed.)
As you know, it's been over 18 months' detention under grave conditions for Pvt. Manning so far. Personally, this American feels that 18mos+ is gracious plenty punishment for a young, idealistic Private though I doubt his case is covered by the Whistle Blower Protection Act of 1988 which purports to "protect"--it's in the title!!!--whistle blowers who uncover fraud or misconduct in or by the US military.
Yet if Pvt. Manning leaked classified information, he did so, not through prescribed military channels which would be protected under the 1988 Act, but to the techie services of Julian Assange who would publish the sensitive info unto the Universe.
And you know? I believe the Universe appreciates truth and has no time for well-crafted lies, imperial or otherwise. But that's just me talkin', not the Washington establishment.

10.15.11 Occupy Wall Street Call to Action! Times Square NYC 5:00 pm edt

Call To Action! October 15, 2011: Occupy Wall Street and a Global Day of Action for the 99%! Congregate in Times Square NYC @ 5:00 pm edt.
Occupy protests of solidarity are now sweeping across the face of Planet Earth--Hurrah!!!
New York City 10.15.11 @ 5:00 pm edt sees the ongoing Jupiter/Neptune midpoint (the speculators, wastrels, and grand schemers pair) still being triggered by political activist Uranus in action-oriented, Mars-ruled Aries which gives an apt picture of events for those with Astrology principles in mind.
This is the 'imagination v reality/sudden recognition of a difficult situation' picture as Mayor Bloomberg grapples, and the mainstream media continues their mock-puzzled commentary on what is truly a grass roots movement by 99% of The People who are fed up with global elite criminality and corruption.
Still Rx in Taurus, Jupiter (Mr. Moneybags) and Venus in Scorpio have moved beyond their opposition of yesterday with its extravagant/wasteful/social climber vibes and 'moderation is needed' caution.
Perhaps of more concern is today's applying opposition between Jupiter and changeable Mercury, planet of youth, communication, oration, trade, commerce--and of course, youth make up most of the numbers of Occupy demonstrators though not exclusively. Mercury opposing Jupiter can make mountains out of molehills (but perhaps that's for corporate-shilling reports to do), and signifies those focused with fanatical zeal upon their goals (which the media says they don't have!)
Mercury oppo Jupiter also indicates a need for balance and moderation in one's plans and speech--and there's Jupiter in Taurus parallel fixed star Ras Alhague: 'a desire to create balance or healing'. The applying trine between Jupiter and wealthy dragon Pluto 5Cap06 continues as well with the Jupiter/Pluto pair potentially signifying: plutocrats, those who exploit others, squanderers, speculators, law and economics professors--and leaders of uprisings!
October 15, 2011 begins with Moon in late Taurus, Sun in Libra, and ends with Moon in Gemini (6:51) with Luna crossing into Gemini at 10:14 am edt conjunct fixed star Alcyone (beware: Alcyone = 'something to cry about'...tear gas? More pepper spray?)
Occupy Wall Street's Call to Action starts during an Hour of the Sun with the sensitive Sun/Neptune midpoint at Midheaven (The Goal; Aspirations; Public Status) so we have a picture of impressionability, mental and emotional stress (graduating with excessive student loans and no job prospects can do that to ya as well as losing your home and/or job with a family to feed), and a negative outlook. Of course, it's possible the negativity is on the side of our now-naked emperor banking class all duded up in their imaginary threads of integrity and superiority.
Either way, the presence of Sun/Neptune shows tendencies toward exploitation, deception, chaotic conditions, and/or scandals though inspiration may be present, too.
At 5:00 pm edt, 21Pis24 rises, making the speculator pair, Jupiter and Neptune, the chart-ruler and co-ruler. Jupiter's applying aspects are its trine with Pluto (1A56) and an opposition to Mercury (3A13) as mentioned above; Neptune makes only one applying aspect, a trine with the Sun in Libra, an extremely creative indicator showing that events should work out quite well today.
UPDATE 7:30 pm: turns out I was overly optimistic with that last statement: the NYPD is surrounding the protesters this evening with huge nets to round them up like sardines so the trine of the Moon--the people--with Neptune emphasizes Neptunian nets as NYC attempts to dissolve (Neptune) the protests. :(
Now back to our Jupiter/Neptune...

Another factor of note is that President Obama's natal Moon 3Gem21 returns to natal degree at less than one minute before 5:00 pm edt today when the rally begins! ('4Gem' = "Holly and Mistletoe Bring Christmas Spirit to a Home".)
In keeping with the critical events of this day--and with Mr. Obama's Lunar Return for I suspect he's feeling pressured from all sides, both youthful Mercury and powerful Pluto--the Moon in Gemini (sign of youth as noted) is apex in a YOD pattern involving today's Mercury/Pluto sextile thus creating a midpoint picture of emotional communication power, adaptability in thinking and speaking, and/or an obsessive need for more power and control (surveillance? agent provocateurs in the crowd?)

An apex Moon in a YOD pattern indicates emotional trauma and vulnerability spilling over from the past yet if this energy is well-managed (as I expect of Occupiers it will be) it can provide a great ability for making destined changes, a reorganization of the emotional nature, and a strengthened inner foundation which attends to the interests of The Weaker as it clarifies and directly expresses personal needs. Another factor today involving growth-oriented Jupiter is an obsessive-compulsive quindecile (165 degrees) between The Jolly One (well, he's usually jolly but these days he's a bit under siege, as he deserves) which shows those who are driven toward fame, recognition, and/or success; also evident is opinionation, judgmentalism, and egocentricity. This expansive Sun/Jup aspect has an "I am the greatest" connotation with a king/queen complex in tow. (The Quindecile, Ricki Reeves.)
'The greatest'? 'King/Queen'?
One thinks easily of politicians and other egotists accustomed to being in charge. What they're decidely not accustomed to is having We-The-People continuously raining on their one-world-government, New World Order, totalitarian parade.

SEC Shredded Documents; Earthquake Hits DC! 8.23.11
Just a heads-up today about Matt Taibbi's Rolling Stone article on the SEC (the American people's intrepid 'enforcer' against crime and fraud on Wall Street--puh!), shredding documents from their 'investigations' into Wall Street fraud and crime such as the Bernie Madoff case and others.
Also Mr. Taibbi is interviewed by Amy Goodman on today's broadcast of Democracy Now! concerning this matter, if you care for a listen.
An example from the Taibbi-Goodman interview? Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman-Sachs (its stock price drooping) has now retained high-powered legal representation, the same group that defended Enron! Why, you'd think they were in-cahoots pals or something.
Well, 'they' often say, Money Talks. And obviously, Money doesn't mind Lying.
The SEC was created from section 4 of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934 which was enacted on June 6, 1934. Click for details which include the names of current SEC members, a crew placed on the board in 2008, and with chairperson Mary Schapiro serving since January 27, 2009. It was time for the old Financial Collapse 2008 crowd to clear out after their collusion in The Big Fraud was done.

Looking at the transits for June 6, 1934 what pops out on a monetary level is a Venus/Uranus conjunction in early Taurus, a money sign with a negative side of greed and intolerance.
System buster Uranus is @ 00Tau00, in fact, the so-called 'Hitler degree' of violence (Adolf's natal Sun degree; looking back at that time we can see that he tended to act aggressively whenever his natal Sun (ego; hero's journey) was triggered (and other times, too, of course) so because we're talking about 1934, this is a transit of Uranus to Hitler's natal Sun, a time of sudden changes of direction toward a new identity (his rise to power and dictatorship.) There is also an inability to accept restriction or rejection with Uranus to n Sun, and he certainly resembles that remark.
So what of the Venus/Uranus imprint of 1934 upon the SEC's DNA, circa 2011?
Events of the 1930s era and their results attest to the following potentials for Venus/Uranus if one cares to remember or search them out, and certainly the hard aspect between the revolutionary pair, Uranus and Pluto, then as now, was very active (then as now.)

The White House and other buildings in the District are being evacuated, and Charlottesville, VA is cited as the quake's epicenter. Thom, whose program is based in Washington DC (and has remained on-air) in an old brick building, further states that he felt the building shake yesterday (8.22.11.) Today, Thom's microphone and the set's background could be seen moving.
Charlottesville in near Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. Hmm.

Well, the first item is what I consider good news for a Monday with little of it to spare!
The Obama administration will grant waivers to allow interested states to end-run around the ridiculous, teach-to-test-impart-no-knowledge No Child Left Behind Act that Bush & crew put in place to dumb down the US populace and destroy our educational system.
Hurrah! for states being allowed to leave this child-damaging law behind.
Plus, today's broadcast of Amy Goodman's Democracy Now! Ms. Ehrenreich makes the point that the current ruinous economic climate in the US and the rich class's unwillingness to share the sacrifice may have finally "broken through" Americans' reluctance to tax the rich because of the "I might be rich one day, too" illusion has been vanquished by recent events. Yes, on MTP Senator Kerry actually spoke more directly than usual, a pleasant change from his typical circuitous garble that says very little when you untangle the aristocratic mannerisms and self-edits mid-sentence.

Well, the first item is what I consider good news for a Monday with little of it to spare!
The Obama administration will grant waivers to allow interested states to end-run around the ridiculous, teach-to-test-impart-no-knowledge No Child Left Behind Act that Bush & crew put in place to dumb down the US populace and destroy our educational system.

Amazing Facts about Michele Bachmann
Must the Evangelical Right Shove Bachmann into the White House?

Apparently that's their plan, if we let 'em. But today I have learned more amazing facts than is good for one person about ring wing candidate, Tea Party opportunist, and Christian Right promoter Michele Bachmann so I thought: why keep the craziness all to myself? Since I have a blog where I recently posted briefly concerning her natal horoscope while looking for that certain 'out-there' quality that some people think the Oral Roberts University law student possesses, why not share the linky love?
Because it isn't as if the MSM are covering much more than her gaffes and good-for-a-guffaw historical revisionism, is it? At least not yet though perhaps you've already noticed that the crazy train has arrived at the station right on time.
Some examples of what I'm finding:
Today's edition of Democracy Now! has Amy Goodman's informative interview with *Michelle Goldberg of The Daily Beast and Karl Bremer whose award-winning blog Ripple in Stillwater (the town where Rep. Bachmann currently lives) recounts her career exploits and dubious connection with a money laundering cocaine dealer who's about to go on trial for participation in a major Ponzi scheme, her falsehoods about profiting from farm subsidies, ethics violations, and more.
Then there's Mother Jones' Michele Bachmann: Greatest Hits, a list of her wackier statements and spouted misconceptions, a not-to-be-missed regaling of her unusual remarks worth reviewing before you decide to vote for Bachmann's brand of out-there, zealous, steam-rolling political and social reforms. (Be careful what you wish for!)
Quite a pile-up of amazing facts for someone who just announced her candidacy for president on Monday June 27, 2011...aka, yesterday!

*Yep! Ronald Reagan may be rolling over in his grave as the power of the Evangelical Right rears its double heads again in American Politics (after a period of hibernation.) On topic is Michelle Goldberg's latest book Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism which I haven't read (just heard of it for the first time today during her Democracy Now! interview) but to me it sounds like Pluto/Chiron's Zionism of violent zealotry focused on the setting up of a one-world-government seat of power in Jerusalem.

Massey Energy name change fools few as Romney enters race in N. H.
That was quite a performance yesterday to mark Massey Energy's name change to Alpha Resources though those who have experience with the safety-challenged company don't seem to be fooled by the obvious public relations ploy. But Massey shareholders decreed!
Meanwhile, in an apparently unrelated event, Mitt Romney (former management consultant advising corporations on how to 'reinvent themselves') will announce today (12:30 pm edt) that he is indeed a candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
Yet so far, rebranding himself on the health care reform issue (his program as governor being the model for Obama's reform bill) hasn't gained much traction with the public but we'll see how Romney manages the presto change-o as the 2012 campaign drags on. Especially since his past corporate work experience includes changing bad names into 'good' (aka, new) in order to hide true and already demonstrated characters.
Here's a SO'W post concerning Mr. Romney's activities during the 2008 presidential campaign when he attempted to reinvent the Democratic Party as the party of Big Brother! It seemed to me then that the shoe fit the other (Republican) foot a little more comfortably, though in 2011 it's admittedly become awfully hard to tell the difference. With our Rs v Ds, it's become a sad case of pot calling kettle black.
Perhaps that's partially because Washington's Big Brother oligarchs are all just power elite rulers of a feather when propagandistic push comes to real world water boarding.

Triangle Factory Fire: same Solar Eclipse Series as 9/11/01
Having to be out of town most of the day today there was no time to scribble on, scan, save, and publish a horoscope of NYC's awful March 25, 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Fire, aka, the Triangle Factory Fire, or, the Haymarket Fire, in which a total of 146 people - women and a few men - perished, many of whom were young immigrants.
If you wish to set up the chart, I suggest using 4:00 pm or thereabouts for that seems to have been the time when they were about to knock off from their grueling work in horrid conditions and go home on a Saturday afternoon. And perhaps some of them must have understood that Saturday is the Sabbath, a Day of Rest from work.

Meltdown in Japan & New Nuclear Power Plants Coming to Georgia (USA)
You know how you return home from a weekend trip and there are zillions of things to catch up with? Well, that's my situation this morning as I read the latest info I can find on the horrendous earthquakes and ongoing nuclear catastrophe in Japan, a nation of good people for whom I pray in this, their time of great trial.
Then my terra-mail is opened and I am starkly reminded of Japan's nuclear disaster bwo the recent addition to our Georgia Power electric bills: $3.79 per month for their rammed-through legislation allowing a Nuclear Construction Cost Recovery in order to build not one but two nuclear plants in my home state. This is a pay-it-forward tax since the money has been forcibly added to Georgians' power bills as of January 2011 for future construction.
(Anti-nuke protests are now going on over the globe!)
And of course, it doesn't matter if the public (whose taxpayers' will be saddled with massive costs if there's a catastrophe) wants the worrisome nuke plants or not, or if we consider them safe to live near. Georgia's well known water supply shortages seem not to matter either - millions of gallons of cool water for future meltdowns notwithstanding. Smart planning? I think not. Especially since Georgia tends toward debilitating droughts in recent years which are difficult enough to deal with without potential radiation poisoning to worry about.
Of course, dead people aren't thirsty people, are they?
So what if our nation's antiquated power grid failed during one of Georgia's extremely hot summers? Electricity and water are needed to cool down reactors! And I'm not even considering here the threat of hacking by terrorists.

Guess we Georgians could spurn water and just drink Atlanta-based Coca-Cola (not me!) all the time "going forward" - but oops! Brewing Coke takes lots of water, too. Gotta work on that pesky getting-thirsty habit, it seems, for if it comes down to drinking water or having nuclear energy, Georgia Power's thumb on the scale has decided 'what's best' for this native Georgian. It all makes me wonder just who could possibly have thought that hot, dry Georgia was a good location for two new nuclear plants.

For years, astrologers have been expecting big events (as well as one can 'expect' with quirky Uranus, planet of The Unexpected) as The Awakener has again crossed the Aries Point of World Manifestation in 2010 and 2011. And I'm sure we've all been hoping that Uranus to AP wouldn't come to this. Hard lessons from Japan's current nightmare and the folly of placing nuclear reactors on or near fault lines reminds me that I've never considered nuclear plants to be "safe" neighbors.
So if I thought that writing a Dear John letter to the powerful power company would help this deplorable situation, I'd write and send it along - and ask pointedly for my money back for this devilish project. Something along the lines of: nuclear power is only "safe" and "clean" until the first accident occurs, you numbskulls.
Or perhaps I should delete 'you numbskulls' for a better outcome...?
Oh well. Never mind that the state of Georgia experiences infrequent earthquakes, too (name a location that doesn't, right?) At least we're the state with the mysterious Georgia Guidestones which tout (severe) population control, among other things, and apparently was commissioned in 1979 by a stranger with the pseudonym "R.C. Christian", a Rosicrucian reference, as some (such as myself) believe.
It seems that the 'purpose' of the Guidestones (unveiled publicly on March 22, 1986, Elberton, GA) relates to our Founding Deist Thomas Paine and the religious theories he expounded in his pamphlet The Age of Reason. I say this because a carving on the Guidestones states,
"Let These Be Guidestones to An Age of Reason." Voila! The Utopians are coming for us!
Well, after hearing this weekend of the earthquakes and subsequent nuclear meltdowns in Japan, both reason and common sense tell me that building more nuclear plants when you're incapable of dealing with the refuse of the ones you have - and building them on or near fault lines - is self-destructive madness and as such, is not reasonable in the least.

A Few Astro-Notes on RNC and DNC 2012
Guess you've heard that the Republican National Convention to nominate their presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2012 campaign will be held in Tampa, Florida the week of August 27, 2012.
Funny thing about Tampa these days, though I suppose there's absolutely no correlation between a certain geophysical phenomenon and the GOP: Earth's magnetic pole has shifted quite visibly in Tampa...toward Russia!
No word yet on the directional drift for Charlotte, NC where the DNC will be held the first week of September 2012. But one assumes it's moved a little closer to Russia, too.
However, we can sleuth for clues about the general atmosphere of that time period by considering the Pre-Natal Eclipse Series into which both conventions fall since they're scheduled only a week apart: 14 South @ '00Gem21' (conjoining Fixed Star Alcyone, keywords: something to cry about; exile.

Since Veterans' Day is tomorrow, November 11, 2010, I'm spending time reflecting today and Thursday upon my country. From what I've seen and studied of late, America will never resemble herself again until the Bush-Cheney 'Patriot Act' is repealed, the Supreme Court Justices who pushed through the Citizens United decision against democracy are de-benched (and perhaps others of them as well), and - first of all - the US Congress is completely reformed and corporations both foreign and domestic are ushered out the door for good. Listening now to Amy Goodman's interview with Ralph Nader, I was moved to check out Mr. Nader's website and found two articles he's just mentioned: one about corporate serfdom, the other with Ten Questions for the Tea Party.
When Corporations Are the Government is one of Nader's articles that I intend to read after I motor back from the city...and his latest book is entitled Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us (can we wake up old J. P. Morgan?)
For me his book may be too much of a "utopian fantasy" or dream though because whenever I read the word 'utopia' I get the political creeps of the Sir Francis Bacon-Adam Weishaupt kind.

Meanwhile, the careless-with-oversight ratings agencies (S&P, Moody's, and Fitch) are up to shenanigans, too, concerning the bond markets. Seems they're afraid they could get themselves sued. Oh really? Integrity in one's business doesn't often lead to getting sued, my financial friends! Oh ye Ponzi-enablers!

(Applause.) Today, thanks to a lot of people in this room, those reforms will become the law of the land.
Passing this bill was no easy task. To get there, we had to overcome the furious lobbying of an array of powerful interest groups and a partisan minority determined to block change. So the members who are here today, both on the stage and in the audience, they have done a great service in devoting so much time and expertise to this effort, to looking out for the public interests and not the special interests. (Applause.) And I also want to thank the three Republican senators who put partisanship aside -- (applause) -- judged this bill on the merits, and voted for reform. We’re grateful to them. Now, let’s put this in perspective. The fact is, the financial industry is central to our nation’s ability to grow, to prosper, to compete and to innovate. There are a lot of banks that understand and fulfill this vital role, and there are a whole lot of bankers who want to do right -- and do right -- by their customers. This reform will help foster innovation, not hamper it. It is designed to make sure that everybody follows the same set of rules, so that firms compete on price and quality, not on tricks and not on traps.
With this law, we’ll crack down on abusive practices in the mortgage industry. We’ll make sure that contracts are simpler -– putting an end to many hidden penalties and fees in complex mortgages -– so folks know what they’re signing.
With this law, students who take out college loans will be provided clear and concise information about their obligations.
And with this law, ordinary investors -– like seniors and folks saving for retirement –- will be able to receive more information about the costs and risks of mutual funds and other investment products, so that they can make better financial decisions as to what will work for them.
So, all told, these reforms represent the strongest consumer financial protections in history. (Applause.) In history. And these protections will be enforced by a new consumer watchdog with just one job: looking out for people -– not big banks, not lenders, not investment houses -– looking out for people as they interact with the financial system.
In the end, our financial system only works –- our market is only free –- when there are clear rules and basic safeguards that prevent abuse, that check excess, that ensure that it is more profitable to play by the rules than to game the system. And that’s what these reforms are designed to achieve -- no more, no less.
