113th Congress' natal chart: Sun-Pluto = Mc

Major Update Jan 1, 2013: Pardon! Due to a date mishap where I'd heard in recent weeks that the 113th Congress would swear in on January 3, it turns out that their oaths will be taken on Friday Janaury 4, 2013 instead. Therefore, you may read the following post based on 'Janaury 3' or, you may wish to stay tuned for a new post concerning the 113th's January 4th horoscope. The image below shows the natal horoscope of the 113th Congress of the United States of America which opens on January 3, 2013 at noon est on Capitol Hill. Its Ascendant, the Congress itself, brings up the transiting Jupiter-Neptune (speculators, spendthrifts, wastrels, frausters, grand schemers, and the Grand Spirit) midpoint which gives a hint of the 113th's character though not all members may be thus described by the duo's negative tones (we hope):

Jupiter-Neptune = ASC: living in a world lighted by personal imagination, or, an emotionally rationalized agenda. (Mdpt pics today are from Noel Tyl's book, Solar Arcs.)

Penned around the outside of the chart are America's natal placements from the 'Sibly' chart of July 4, 1776 5:10 pm LMT--as you see, Jupiter Rx @7Gem31 in 2nd house of the National Treasury will again conjoin US natal Uranus 8Gem55, as discussed in previous posts; North Node (NN 24Sco45) points to the 8th cusp and house of Shared Resources, Debt, Credit, Insurance, Legacies, Transformation, etc, and is ruled by the 8th H's natural rulers, forceful Mars and powerful Pluto:

If the 113th gavela in on time at noon, it's an Hour of the Moon, suitable for changes and for newly elected congressmembers to take their seats, some of whom are women (Moon.) Publicity is involved as are security needs, real estate, and other realms associated with the astrological Moon including milk (Farm Bill? $8 milk?)

As you see, there's another major midpt picture at Mc (Midheaven, The Goal Point of any chart) which has potential for:

Sun-Pluto = Mc: power games with important consequences; striving for power and control; vocational changes or upsets to adopt new perspectives.

Other midpt pics may be useful to consider though I shall not list them all in this post, then we'll look at the applying aspects of chart-ruler Mars (conflict; action; energy; warring factions, etc, to see how things may proceed for the country under the sway of the 113th Congress--note that Mars @6AQ48 conjoins US natal SN, a Saturnian point of separation and of past behaviors.

Challenger Mars is also the planet apex of 4 midpts: Pluto/Chiron (with its oppressive plutocracy and disenfranchisement vibes), Sun-Neptune, Neptune/Mc, and NN/ASC, detailed below) to see how things may proceed for the country under the sway of the 113th Congress and whatever secret austerity plans the radical Utopians (Uranus in Aries) will continue attempting to force upon us.

Sun-Neptune = Mars: nefarious scheming to exalt the ego; magnetism and charisma.

I know of no easy words to describe Pluto-Chiron = Mars though with America's SN involved, I suspect that past bad behaviors such as oppression, win-at-any-cost attitudes, and even primal violence will continue to be exhibited by the corrupt Washington politicians and the plutocrats who support them infest the District of Columbia and continue their plan to completely take over the US government and weaken it while ravaging all resources of our nation.

Let us hope progressives and populists are up to fighting the battle though I must add the Saturn-Neptune = Mercury implications of depression and pessimism, a factor affecting all who are signified by planet Mercury (including young people, students, traders, and deal-makers. Sadly, the combo of Saturn-Neptune relates to 'secret government' but also to grief and sorrow.)

113th Congress: How Things Will Go = two applying aspects of Mars:

1. Mars trine Jupiter Rx (0A43) which on one level describes the pay raises (2nd H) that President Obama has ordered for the 113th Congress and for other federal employees who've had pay freezes in place (Rx Jupiter.) Hope our congressmembers turn out to deserve such financial encouragement and that they'll do the people's business better than the unproductive 112th did!

2. Mars square Saturn (2A56), which denotes that activist Mars will run into frustrating obstacles, hard work, and delays brought on by lack of preparation and/or bad timing. The seniority and authority of others may be challenged or threatened which will be met unkindly, and trying to get around rules and regulations is to be avoided (word to the wise!) Why, even physical threats may be received. Necessary items may go missing when sought though they will probably turn up later.

Yes, Mars SQ Saturn shows that the old dictum experience is the best teacher fully applies to the whippersnappers of the 113th Congress. But of course, with the GOP's past behavior with its sour grapes-sore loser attitude, we must expect to see filibusters and other obstructive tactics meant to block any legislation that might make President Obama 'look good'.

Well, these are my brief astro-notes concerning the 113th Congress though many other chart factors will be of interest as the congressional session grinds along. My plan is to direct you back to this natal horoscope when major transits or events occur so perhaps you'll find the chart useful as you consider the madness and mischief of the US House and Senate circa 2013 and beyond.

The only horoscope I have in my files for the natal chart of the US Congress is an old one and I suspect that I only surmised the hour since things tended to get started at an early hour in the olden candle-lit days:

US Congress: November 17, 1800 '9:30 am' LMT with Sun 25Sco04 (the above NN and 8th cusp conjoins natal Sun! NN to Sun = new contacts are made--or, sworn in!) and Moon 6Sag17, a steamy Water-Fire combo of passion, commitment, self-dramatization, fanaticism, and intellectual discernment.

Synchronistically, natal NN @17Ari59 conjoins the ASC of the 113th Congress, and natal Jupiter @4Leo26 = US natal NN; plus, natal Uranus @00Lib47, a World Point of Manifestation, conjoins US Midheaven in our 'Sibly' natal chart and with tr Uranus in Aries since 2010, Congress has been in the midst of its Midlife Crisis, a time when one tends to behave uncharacteristically!

Of great concern is Congress' natal Pluto @2Pis16 (transformation, manipulation, power, control, and wealth) which is now being dissolved by tr Neptune in early Pisces, a time when the current system can be removed, traditional rules are changed, treachery is afoot, and power is eroded; a resort to poison isn't out of the question, though negative societal trends may be mitigated somewhat by the current behavior and attitudes of those directly involved and challenged--here, the 113th Congress!

Political Astrology Blog is where I first noticed the birth time of Rep. Paul Ryan who, as you undoubtedly know, was named VP nominee by presidential candidate Mitt Romney this morning at or about 9:00 am edt in Norfolk, VA with the USS Wisconsin as backdrop, as a shout-out to Paul Ryan's home state.

ASC 21Vir02 = Denebola and US natal Neptune with US natal Mars @22Gemini at MC (The Goal = perpetual war?) This puts America's tiresomely confused, misguided, and fog-of-war Mars-Neptune square from 1776 on the VP announcement chart's angles which gives them places to express themselves--tiresomely. Hidden (Neptune) motivations (Mars) may also be indicated by Romney's VP choice.

Of course, Neptune Rising is an indicator of acting and pretending, creativity and inspiration, lies and deceptions, and/or potentials for instability and fraudulent activities. This morning's horoscope with US natal Neptune Rising echoes Paul Ryan's natal Neptune Rising and signifies that a masking is on the rise--one example may be fishy Mitt--born with Sun, Mercury, Mars in Pisces--announced his VP pick today in an attempt to hide from the media glare and the toll from critical campaign ads of his opponent. At Midheaven (MC; the Goal) is 19Gem59 and Romney's natal Uranus 17Gem51 so I infer that shaking things up politically was naturally one of the aims of this morning's VP announcement and pick. And with Moon 8Gem17 (the public) conj US natal Uranus, people were excited and surprised, especially with happy Jupiter @11Gem58 nearby. Actually, the Moon-Jupiter combo in light-hearted Gemini will repeat on January 21, 2013, Inauguration Day so perhaps someone expects the trillions of dollars that corporations have been sitting on during President Obama's administration to be released in a flood of job creation which will bolster Romney's approval ratings with the public and turn the GOP back into ole' Santa Claus, for a while at least.

Below you see Paul Ryan's natal horoscope with a few notes added relating to today's big announcement (see upper right) such as the powerful pile-up at his natal Ascendant 00Sag38 ('1Sag' = "A Grand Army of the Republic Campfire" in Sabian Symbols--guess that's where the money is to go that his "Path to Prosperity" purloins from our nation's social safety net programs--Ryan's Throw Granny Under the Bus and Wage More War plan for America and a one world government that requires chaos before a 'new economic order' is completely and finally established.

A Jupiter-Saturn opposition person needs approval from others and must be praised for their contributions. But he doesn't understand how his Scorpionic behavior can hurt others for there is a streak of indifference within his psyche (Jupiter-Saturn are separating from opposition and thus affecting him unconsciously.) Conservatism, narrow-mindedness, and religious hypocrisy are typical expressions of the opposition between our Solar System's two societal planets and issues of growth v austerity typical, as we see in his budget and financial committee work.

Meanwhile, chart-ruler Jupiter is involved in an applying quincunx (150 degr) with Mars 3Ari17 denoting one who willingly offers his services to others in an assumption that they cannot do for themselves. Perhaps the slippery Mitt fish will benefit from the more rigid Mr. Ryan's firm principles, however anti-societal they may be. For now that Rep. Ryan is about to breathe the even more rarified political air of Washington DC, he'll be anxious to maintain company with the global power elite since he has styled himself as one of them (Neptune conj ASC is a bit of a slippery fish, too--a thespian.) Yet he must be cautious of others taking credit for his ideas though perhaps this only describes Politics in general where connivers always seem to thrive at the expense of others.

The only other applying aspect of his natal Jupiter is a trine to North Node showing ease of opportunity (trine) connecting (NN) with wealthy and/or religious people (Jupiter), and rewards gained from contacts with the public.

Plus, there is no applying aspect to his natal Sun so we may have to be satisfied with his separating conjunction from charming Venus (photogenic!)--that, and the Sun's sign and house position: 2nd house of the National Treasury, and Aquarius for those far-seeing eyes of his. Note that restrictive Capricorn is on his 2nd cusp.

Now there are many factors in Paul Ryan 's natal chart which deserve discussion and many astrologers have analysed his chart brilliantly (ex: Political Astrology Blog linked above.) But let's focus on a few correspndances now in progress:

Ryan was named Romney's VP pick today during Ryan's midlife crisis (tr Uranus 8Ari12 Rx opposing natal Uranus 8Lib40 Rx in n 10th H of Career and Public Status!), a time of new directions and possibly uncharacteristic behavior (from Libran behavior to Arian--Uranus in Aries = radical Utopians, says R. Ebertin--and they want to remake civilization even if it kills us!) As you know, this is often a 'buy a red sports car' period of life but here, a fabulous new job and high class residence may be in his picture. In today's announcement chart, Uranus is posited in 7th H which keys the Partnership axis (1/7) with Mitt Romney's natal Sun 21Pis11 setting at Descendant (The Partner.)

Comparing both men's natal planets, however, shows reciprocal aspects between both Suns and Plutos indicating that ego dominance will become an issue in their relationship if it isn't already, and that use and misuse of power is on their shared menu.

Another interesting facet is how Ryan's natal Neptune/ASC conjunction is keyed today by the transiting midpoint of Saturn and Pluto, and by tr NN 1Sag54. Midpoint pictures are thus formed...

Tr Saturn-Pluto = n Neptune: falsehoods, frauds, lies; a desire to harm others secretly; immorality; instability; danger through water, poison, or gas; shattered nerves. (Ebertin.)

Tr Saturn-Pluto = n ASC: giving an impression of silent power (Munkasey); placed in cumbersome or difficult circumstances (Ebertin.)

Plus, let's consider a transiting midpoint picture in the announcement chart formed by the Venus-Pluto opposition (with Venus conj US natal Venus in Cancer so the T-Square, which points to Uranus in Aries, also involves the current oppositions tr Pluto is in process of making to US natal planets in Cancer which denote financial stalemates such as debt ceiling 'debates', threatened government defaults, bankruptcy, missing trillions, and powerful plutonian forces abroad engaged in a terrific power struggle with American bankers and politicians.)

Venus-Pluto = Uranus: fanaticism in relationships (Ebertin): indifference to the destructive powers available for personal and politicial uses; compromises involving extreme uses of power; friends who enjoy unusual types of punishment. (Munkasey.) And I doubt we're talking scratchy underwear here!

What personalizes the above noted T-Square to Paul Ryan's natal horoscope is that his natal Uranus which opposes today's Uranus, thus forms the fourth point of a Grand Cross (Venus-Pluto-Uranus-Uranus)--kind of a double T-Square which becomes more even more dynamic with Paul Ryan's involvement.

The combo of Venus-Pluto denotes such things as bankruptcy, wealth hidden in secret places, attracting elements of organized crime, destruction of financial institutions, and the breakdown of the social fabric.

Last is the transit of serious Saturn to Ryan's natal Moon @24Lib11 in n 11th H of Groups, Associations, Wishes and Hopes. Therefore, it looks as if Rep. Ryan has been dreaming of taking on more responsibility, and, though his family life may suffer from it, his long-term efforts and career ambitions are now being rewarded by an older associate, Mitt Romney...whether their union is good for the prospects of the American Middle Class or not.

Sun-Pluto obsessions of the US, Obama, and Romney

The Power Desires of Obama and Romney

It is my personal conclusion that America's obsession with Sun-Pluto power issues and control makes the use of fear as a tool against the populace easy to latch on to for the US natal horoscope shows an obsessive-compulsive-don't-know-when-to-quit Sun-Pluto quindecile aspect (165 degrees) between the executive (Sun) and power (Pluto.) Other levels of Pluto (exs: the Pope, extreme wealth hidden in secret places, spying and surveillance, string-pullers from afar, wealthy banking houses, the Underworld) certainly may apply as well but for this post let's stop at 'power, control, and the use of fear for persuasion'. When conjunct, the Sun-Pluto duo shows a willfulness that makes 'offers difficult to refuse'.

Now it seems significant to me that in the pivotal year 2012, with a presidential election at hand (guided by mafioso Pluto's Hidden Hand?) and both candidate's qualifications for office under scrutiny, that both President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney have natal charts (psyches) containing Sun-Pluto midpoint pictures--that is, the midpoint of the two bodies whose psycho-dynamics so obsess Washington DC with its imposed cult of personality (Sun) as instituted upon the citizenry by the first presidency in the form of Freemason George Washington. In an ironic twist (or with an eye toward posterity) Washington is famous for refusing to be king of America, and for walking away from the power of the presidency so that the next guy could step in and further the mission.

Note: in 1937, US inauguration days were switched from early March to January 20, or 21 if the 20th falls on a Sunday. This positions America's presidential Sun @00AQ+ and the Sabian Symbol for '1AQ' = "An Old Adobe Mission." Check it out!)

Focusing on Sun-Pluto positions, here are their birth particulars:

Barack Obama August 4, 1961 @7:24 pm AHST Honolulu, Hawaii (Sun 12Leo33 in 6th house; Pluto 6Vir59 in 7th house; ASC 18AQ03; MC 28Sco54) and Mitt Romney March 12, 1947 @9:51 am Detroit, Michigan (Sun 21Pis11 in 11th house; Pluto 11Leo22 Rx in 4th house; ASC 1Gem01; MC 6AQ43.)

Here are the willful, powerful midpoint pictures involved with details from Munkasey, Tyl, and Ebertin, any of which may or may not apply though they are subject to stimulation by transit and progression:

President Obama--Sun-Pluto = Uranus 25Leo16: sudden obsession to acquire additional power and control; a surprising suspicion of basic powers; use of scientific methods to achieve progress or gain power; powerful ideas; carrying out fanatic reforms without regard for oneself; new individual perspectives; sudden change; rebellion.

Mitt Romney--Sun-Pluto = ASC: enormous power projection; being forced to fight; ruthless establishment of one's own personality; suppression of the environment for the attainment of one's own aspirations; a crisis of self-preservation; experiencing the ruthlessness of others; making changes through applying the will; noticing the weakness in others and using the knowledge for personal advantage; efforts to rid the environment of corruption or immoral practices.

(For Mr. Obama, the above reminds me of drones and health care reform--for Mr. Romney, Bain Capital and Mormonism!)

Additionally, Mr. Obama's natal Sun-Pluto midpoint @24Leo46 contacts US natal Moon in Aquarius (We the People) by opposition so his Sun-Pluto = US n Moon: fluctuations in attempts to appear strong-willed; attempts to project power and persuasion; brutal suppression of feelings.

And Mitt Romney's Sun-Pluto midpoint @ 1Gem17 falls upon the rising Moon 1Gem26 in the Inauguration 2013 horoscope. Hmmm....are the two men more alike than most people realize? Well, at the least this dual Sun-Pluto-Moon circumstance reminds me of that disappointed every-four-year feeling that when it comes to swearing in new American presidents, it's six of one, half dozen of another and hardly a doughnut of difference in between.

Thoughts about Memorial Day May 28, 2012

At NPR, Scott Simon's Remembering a Hero on Memorial Day gives a gentle and touching tribute to Vietnam soldier Leslie Sabo, who gave his all for his country 42 years ago--my generation. Click for the text, plus, the audio of Mr. Simon's report will be online around 12:00 pm et today and it's worth a listen if you missed it this morning.

The History and Astrology of Memorial Day is interesting coming as it did after the 'Civil' War when General John Logan, National Commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, offically proclaimed it on May 5, 1868. The first observance was held on May 30, 1868, and of course, you recognize the Sabian Symbol for '1Sag':

"A Grand Army of the Republic Campfire"...REMINISCENCE:

Positive expression: accomplishment through the cultivation of and preservation of enduring ties with others;

Negative/(Unconsicous/Shadow Side--jc): superficial idleness and unhealthy veneration for the past.

Taking a look at planetary positions at noon on May 5, 1868, we see two significant conjunctions relating to our topic, the first at the Oxen Degree: Sun 15Tau26 conjunct Pluto 15:34, planet of death and regeneration. Astrological Sun signifies leaders and leadership but also the recognition and honor that Memorial Day brings. As a team, Sun/Pluto = rulers, those who strive for or crave power (such as empire-builders and conquerors), fighters, martyrs, and separation by force majeure such as war and violence. (Ebertin.)

The second conjunction has a wider orb: warrior planet Mars, strong in his own sign of Aries (18:12, with '19Ari' the Exaltation of the Sun degree) and compassionate if deceptive Neptune 15Ari54 joins Mars and brings to mind America's continually problematic Mars/Neptune square from 1776 indicating such things as deceptive actions, misguided and/or misdirected energy, and the fog (Neptune) of war (Mars.) Yet the planetary duo's potential for inspired action is what Leslie Sabo and other heros exhibit on behalf of their fellow soldiers and for their country even though they are 'lied into war' for dubious (money making) reasons by old white men, aka, war profiteers.

(Please understand that I cast no blame upon our valiant soldiers, but that's how I see the wars that Americans have been duped into fighting through the decades for all were begun by ruses and both or all sides are always financially backed by the same banking interests--simultaneously. I'm of the If Only No Soldiers Showed Up to Fight generation, remember--put the old global bankers in a ring and let them duke it out!)

Plus, Ebertin gives other implications for the Mars/Neptune combo such as "suffering harm or exploitation," "a desire to harm others," and "narrow-mindedness," all of which are activated during times of war.

Well, I've blogged myself into quite a grump when all I intended to do in this post was to remember and heartily thank all our veterans for their service this Memorial Day 2012. I think it was seeing those Sun/Pluto and Mars/Neptune conjunctions in the 1868 chart that riled me up. And after so many--too many--years of war, few will click to read this post anyway, I suspect. But if you did, please pardon my dissenting nature as a native Georgian and a Child of the Revolution! After all, a national Memorial Day wasn't agreed upon by the Southern states until after World War I for we steel magnolias can be something of a feisty bunch way down yonder in the South!

Summer Solstice 2012 with Pluto Rising in Washington DC

Once the Solar Eclipse of May 20, 2012 manifests @ 00Gem21, we then have Summer Solstice 2012 to look forward to, and this year the Sun clocks in at 00Cancer00:00 on June 20, 2012 at 7:09 pm edt in Washington DC. Below you see the Solstice horoscope set for the White House and loaded with my usual hodge podge of astro-notes and basic chart factors:

Outer, highlighted in green, are the general positions of America's natal planets, Ascendant, and Midheaven from our 'Sibly' horoscope of July 4, 1776 5:10 pm LMT Philadelphia, PA. No other planetary links are notated on the chart including those of President Obama but if links seem significant to this astrologer, they will be mentioned within the text, or discussed in a later post.

Now let's get on with a basic consideration of the June 20, 2012 horoscope which begins our Summer season in the Northern Hemisphere and is 'good for' six months until Autumn Equinox 2012 though certain factors and sensitive degrees in the Solstice chart may remain influential and subject to stimulation by transiting planets and progressions until Summer Solstice 2013.

Hour of Jupiter (posited in 6th house of Military, Service, Work, Health) @ 2Gem04 conjunct Fixed Star Mirfak (challenge-oriented; young male energy; aggressive warrior or politician; house position may be where physical prowess and/or mental abilities are overestimated, and those involved will not listen to wisdom or take caution or precaution--PM Margaret Thatcher was born with natal Jupiter and Mirfak linked, says Brady's Book of Fixed Stars; recklessness or rash action may be indicated, and additional conflicts, invasions, and wars cannot be ruled out, sad to say.

Also, with Sagittarius (The Seeker) rising, Jupiter is Summer Solstice 2012's chart-ruler (in DC) so we look to Jupiter's major (Ptolemaic) applying aspects for clues on how things will proceed. As you see, Venus in 6th H (revenge; jealousy, evaluations; money) and Jupiter (the General, Banker, Priest, Guru) are both Money significators; Venus awaits Jupiter and is conjoining US natal Uranus 8Gem55, a time when unorthodox or unusual alliances may be entered into (such as during rare Venus Transits and this Solstice is just past the Venus Transit of June 5/6, 2012 in mid-Gemini when those we would never expect to be allies 'hook-up' for who-knows-what actions to be taken...more war? more financial heisting? unknown hooliganism or secret deals of great import?)

Note: you see that the cusps of this horoscope echo closely those in the US natal 'Sibly' chart which personalizes Summer Solstice 2012 for the US and hints at a significant time frame of action especially with the chart weighted on the Angular side--all 4 Angular houses contain planets, aka, actors; the Hemispheric emphases are on Others taking the lead or holding the cards--Sun and Moon in 7th H of Partnerships-- and on equally private and public involvements; foreign bankers are lurking, m'peops, as they have from Day One in America so this may be significant of the EU debt crisis affecting US financial prospects. Chart-ruler Jupiter Does Apply...

Jupiter applies to a square with nebulous Neptune 3Pis04 Rx (conj Fomalhaut: karmic; positive or negative; legal problems; shady associates; congenital defects; magic (A. Louis.) Jupiter/Neptune squares indicate smooth talkers (Neptune in 3rd H), over-promisers, big schemers, and difficulty identifying facts; social burdens seem heavy and too demanding, religious leaders are impractical and use overblown rhetoric, and deception and illusion undermine conditions along with financial data that's hidden, ignored, or neglected as half-truths are used as tools of persuasion and propaganda (Campaign 2012!) Avoiding exaggeration and extravagance is necessary since optimism may be misguided yet promoted by those who paint an over-rosy Big Picture.

Yes, Jupiter conj Mirfak, as mentioned above, points toward military issues and concerns in particular; plus, expanding Jupiter @ 2Gem04 opposes and therefore triggers the November 25, 2011 Solar Eclipse @ 2Sag37 (a peculiar turn of events--ex: the 'Super Congress' when the US Congress shoved its constitutionally mandated duties on twelve elite members--so the financial matters in that alleged 'debt crisis' mess, which they intend to use to promote austerity measures such as those now crippling Europe, will be on our national menu again this can-kicking summer as is to be expected from the miscreants of Washington DC.)

And with the Moon ruling 8th H of Shared Resources, Debt, Credit, Insurance, Legacies, Death, Transformation, and the Occult, we may expect market fluctuations, alternating fluidity, and instability--ups'n'downs--in the US business sector. Plus, 15Can06/24 on 8th cusp points to the natal Ascendant of The Pentagon and the costly wars that the American people pay for yet then suffer from as global wheeler-dealers who start wars make their obscene profits on the backs of everyone else (I'm looking at you, Federal Reserve System.)

Also you see that Venus squares Neptune which has karmic undertones and similar indications as above (Jupiter) with the addition of disappointment in relationships and a potential for sexual blackmail and other scandals involving 6th H and 3rd H matters; indiscriminate behavior in romance, involvement in cults, strange or shady associations behind the curtain (which may support such indicators for the Venus Transit of June 5/6, 2012); gullibility in 3rd/6th H matters is shown by the extravagant, pretentious Venus/Neptune square.

In addition to military significators in the Summer Solstice 2012 horoscope and actors who are undermined and blocked by contact with unstable and contagious Neptune in its own sign of murky, oceanic Pisces, SCOTUS is apparently scheduled to decide on the constitutionality of the Obama administration's Affordable Health Care Act--allegedly by late June 2012!

As for the Sun (the main topic of this post!) a helpful (or slippery slope) to Neptune may show for the President (Sun) who may be the smooth talker mentioned here with Neptune in 3rd H of Communications; plus, Sun will oppose Pluto in about one week with their cycle having begun (conjunction) on December 29, 2011 at '8Cap' conjunct Facies one of the 'victimization' stars. Something is culminating in the Sun/Pluto department and/or relationships are strained or ended but further sleuthing will be needed beginning with the date, December 29, 2011.

Upstarts in 4th House: US natal Uranus 8Gem55 Visited by Venus

Transit Venus to US natal Uranus heightens the ability to coordinate group activities such as political campaigns and military or surveillance operations. Mars 23Vir38 in 9th H of Foreign Lands denotes US troops far afield and foreign fighters who oppose our occupations of their countries. This Mars is quite busy for The Warrior sets off America's problematic Mars/Neptune square with its misdirected or misguided energy and confused or deceptive motivations (or inspired actions!) while conjoining both US n Neptune and President Obama's n Mars which, as you know, conjoins our national Neptune, the 'rockstar' link that veils his true actions and motivations.

Mars to n Neptune is a time when keeping a low profile and being cautious in all things is the best advice yet the 6th H indicators mentioned above concerning Jupiter and Mirfak hint that a different and unfortunate course may be taken instead. Of course, Mars conj n Mars is a Mars Return as previously discussed on SO'W for President Obama, though its degree here is not precise to the minute so you may wish to check out a previous post Obama's Mars Return 2012: Jan-Feb-June since its dynamism influences the next two years (new cycle of activity) in all the realms of Mars. And the new cycle may just aid him in getting re-elected in November 2012.

Michael Mukasey July 28, 1941

Here you see the sunrise chart (birth time unknown) for Michael Mukasey, July 28, 1941, Bronx, NY (click chart to enlarge.)

Since Mukasey may not become Attorney General after all the hullaballoo over Congress' demands for purgegate info which the White House is shy about giving up, I'm posting this natal chart for future reference if needed.

One can't help but notice though that his natal Sun is conjunct powerful Pluto so his father must've been a doozy--this conj indicates that his parents were involved in a great power struggle for control so Mukasey tends to see the world in this way...it's how he relates. And Leo is inordinately proud, too, and fancies himself a natural ruler.

People with Sun/Pluto conjs tend to overwhelm others--with love, concern, guilt, problems, solutions, or anything they can think of. There's a certain amount of obsession, resentment, and a sense of self-righteousness implied and possible implications of heart problems.

And with Chiron in the Sun/Pluto fray, we have the plutocratic Pluto/Chiron pair with its loftiness issues, plus Sun/Chiron gives an early sense of destiny. This pile-up is conj US natal NN as well...public associations bwo of his power potential.

He's very much a meeting the powerful and exerting control kind of guy who should have no trouble meeting the demands of the NWO agenda, but as with everyone, it is his natal chart to choose how to use.

His Sun and Pluto are midway between Jupiter and Neptune so we see two natal midpoint pictures:

Jupiter/Neptune = Sun: following a dream; trying to capture the essence of things; deceiving or being deceived; lack of self-control; irresponsibility; speculation.

Jupiter/Neptune = Pluto: far-reaching speculations; a great loss; unreasonable plans; self-projection out-of-hand; major adjustment of life circumstances.

Being natal, these pictures may apply in any combination (or none) or at various times of life. I'd say the last one is applicable now with his possible government job.

Pre-natal Eclipse Series: 15 South: a situation which has been lingering will suddenly clear but there is a sense of grief or loss esp in the collective or within a group. Last manifested: Apr 29, 1995, next: May 10, 2013.(Brady's 'Predictive Astrology.')

The clump you see at Neptune/NN with the Moon (and the Moon reaches Libra at 12:41 pm on 7.28.41 so he could be a Leo/Virgo or a Leo/Libra personality with Libra being the sign of the scales of justice)--indicates spiritual or occultist tendencies in group endeavors along with sentimentality. (I don't know enough about him personally to know if this is correct - I'm just reading the chart. Is he of the Catholic persuasion, by chance? Jewish?)

Born during a Saturn/Uranus conj, it's interesting that the pair will soon be in the opposition phase of their cycle--for the 2008 election and the 2009 Inauguration. Oppositions are the culmination stage of a cycle. The old vs new Saturn/Uranus combo can be very ambitious with an exciting the status quo into new development flavor.

He certainly seems to be part of the Bush-Cheney agenda, and the Federalist Society is right up in there.

Around the outside of his chart:

Yesterday (Sept 17) when Bush announced Mukasey as his pick for US Attorney General, there were two transiting conjunctions to his natal planets - Saturn (responsibility; authority; control) to Venus, and Sun to natal Neptune, a planet of veils and illusions.

Saturn to Venus: seriousness enters the environment; relationships with females, other alliances, and joint ventures are curtailed by responsibilities (taking a job in government, and less money); greater commitment is called for; formality of manner; endeavors become more focused.

Sun to Neptune: ideals, fantasies, and spiritual matters become part of the environment; assistance may be volunteered (help! says George); reality may be conveniently lost sight of or others may hide the truth as inattention and flexible morals creep into the picture (in Washington, they crept in a long time ago. Remember Bush's first campaign days and his slogan to bring integrity back to the White House? I knew then that was a crock but little did I know what a giant crock it was.)

However, I do hope Michael Mukasey, if he becomes US Attorney General, can put the DOJ back on a more reasonable and less politicized course, don't you?

Jeb Bush Feb 11, 1953

By now you've heard Jeb Bush was dissed by the University of Florida's Faculty Senate vote nixing an honorary degree for him. The 38-28 vote could not have gone down well with the Bush dynasty spawn but never fret because the Alumni Association has come through to save his tender feelings by passing a resolution today making him an honory alumni.

Who knew you could be an alumni without accomplishing the goal of attaining a degree even an honorary one?

Here you see Bush's natal chart with transits for 3.23.07 scribbled around the outside although I just realized the diss-vote was taken on Thursday, 3/22...but the main difference is the Moon in Taurus on Thursday--entering Bush's natal 9th house of Higher Education...appropriate, I'm sure you'll agree.

Natally, Jeb Bush was born into the Balsamic phase of the Moon--in its highest manifestation this makes him a prophet turned completely toward the future. He probably feels himself possessed by a social 'destiny' or that he's led by a superior power (Poppy?)

Bush may sense a character of finality in all his important relationships and sees them as ends of a process and as the means to help him reach his goals.

Balsamic types often take over projects when others cannot carry on--or when they arrive on the scene, someone is always leaving in some way.

This feeling of having a transcendent goal may lead to fanaticism and is shared natally by Robespierre, President Wm McKinley, and Thomas Paine (The Lunation Cycle, Dane Rudhyar.)

Recently tr Saturn has been messing with Bush's n Pluto which signifies a time of power/control issues where one may not get to be the one in charge.

Obviously this relates to the end of his tenure as FL governor esp since tr Saturn had been conjunct n South Node, a point of separation. And with his South Node (SN) in 11th house of Groups/Associations/Friends/Hopes-Wishes, there were endings of group associations as well, and possibly separations from friends.

The dissing of his educational record by the Faculty Senate vote is timely since he's just had a Mercury (thought processes; communications) Return and Mercury is weak in Pisces, sign of confusion, illusion and such. Very creative though, and his Sun trine Neptune--the closest applying aspect to n Sun and thus an integral part of his personality--indicates much creativity.

But the individual path of self-expression should be followed. However, this is all but impossible with n Sun opposite Pluto (power; manipulation) because:

Jeb was born into a family with a highly manipulative atmosphere at a time when his father was into 'Plutonic games' (I think he still is.) As an adult, Bush may insist on controlling everyone in his environment--and he learned this behaviour at Poppy's knee.

When such a child's Sun is in Fire or Air (Aquarius), he is overwhelmed by his father's influence for his mind becomes submerged in his father's "power trip." He may have no idea how to break free.

And Jeb's natal Ascendant has the Neptune/Pluto midpoint upon it--rising--indicating someone who is into the occult and/or mysticism--which is supported by the above-mentioned Sun/Neptune trine. A study of Astrology may have aided him in breaking free of his father's control--to the extent he may have wanted this.

Nep/Plu = ASC: surrounding oneself with a mytical air; being placed in a peculiar environment.

The Nep/Pluto pair are personalized in his natal chart due to their connection to n Sun (although the Pluto opposition is separating so it may operate more often on an unconscious level...added to Pluto's connection with theUnconscious/depth psychology.)

Is Jeb an 'unconscious' despot? His wife and children must know the answer to that one!

Yet unlike most politicians, he has no 12th house planets natally so his Sun-Pluto opposition will have to do for his political aspirations and tendencies...and Pluto is near the 12th cusp in the Placidus House System used here (and may be in 12th house in other systems.)


If you enlarge the chart you'll see the particulars of Bush's Pre-Natal Eclipse Series (8 South) which manifested once again Sep 22, 2006.

This is the "separations; loss; partings; physical injury due to overstrain" Series we've been under--until the Mar 19/20 Eclipse on Monday which also occurred 3 days after Jeb Bush's birth. This 9 New North Series (28Pis07) is a "violence; accidents" Series.

(Looking back at 1953, that was the year the CIA installed the tyrant, the Shah, in Iran...and our chickenhawk neocons are now wishing they could perform a similar feat there again, aren't they?)

But back to the Jeb:

You see that tr Pluto, master of transformation, has recently crossed into his n 4th house, the Foundation of the chart. This indicates that it's time for Bush to cope with negative conditioning from childhood that my be affecting him adversely now...not easy when you have Sun opposite Pluto, but perhaps he's happy as a clam with the family crime syndicate he was born into...but be that as it may...

family ties may be broken or become more more close and powerful under this transit and his status within the family will be a focus of attention (for a 2008 prez bid?)

An older family member or two will pass away with tr Pluto in 4th house which is a Duh considering his parents' ages.

Home renovations and plumbing repairs are common under Pluto's visit to 4th house of Domestic Scene...plus, he may discover a family secret that will transform his life (hope he keeps it to himself--his family dynasty is scary enough already.)

Well, that's a small sashay down Jeb Bush Lane. Now here's a question for you:

When is a university alumni not an alumni? When you're part of the well-connected Bush dynasty, of course. You may take your seat at the head of the class!
