A Major T-Square Marks Winter Solstice 2016

Winter Solstice 2016: Jupiter Opposes Uranus While Both Square Karmic Pluto

Having previously viewed the Winter Solstice 2016 horoscope, you've noticed that expansive Jupiter in airy Libra will line up in opposition to radical Uranus in fiery Aries and, with apex Pluto in Capricorn, form a Cardinal T-Square of dynamic energies. Below again is the December 21, 2016 chart set for Washington DC and here is what I wrote about it way back in September before I knew what I didn't know then:

As you see, Jupiter rules the chart and the winter season on into 2017 but the first planet to rise is legalistic Saturn in Sagittarius, the sign ruled by Jupiter, suggesting delay, hindrance, or some other kind of limitation or suppression. Wealthy Pluto is in the 2nd house, which in American mundane charts points toward the coffers of the National Treasury and those who control or feed from it so naturally the role of 'the Fed' is indicated.

And with the pairing of Jupiter and Uranus in opposition, we may expect events to involve such matters and people as fortune hunters, adventurers or explorers, inventors, and perhaps those who organize large endeavors or projects. However, this planetary pair may also express via freedom and independence issues, philosophical arguments which may include zealotry and its one-sided viewpoints, obstinate adherence to principles that do not stem from real convictions, farsightedness, missing one's best chance, successful speculation, a blissful realization, and/or a fortunate turn in life.

A sudden release of tension may accompany any of these potentials and as always, an opposition (180 degrees) suggests a sort of culmination, fulfillment, or a situation in which complete awareness is forthcoming. See below, for dates when the 'Full Moon' of the Winter Solstice 2016 Jupiter-Uranus opposition had planted its seeds during their three-fer conjunction/s.

Jupiter-Pluto; Uranus-Pluto

Then there's apex Pluto, the isolationist, who can act as a dictator when plodding through Saturn-ruled Capricorn. Here His Creepiness continues a karmic role in the turbulent yet weakened Cardinal Uranus-Pluto Square while also squaring Jupiter, a marker for what may be overly high expectations that need dialing down if real progress is the aim. And while it may inspire some folk to take themselves very seriously, the Jupiter-Pluto square denotes a time when there are frustrations and obstacles in Politics, diplomacy, finances, publishing, religion, group organizing, and other cultural matters. In addition, energy consumption and supply (gas prices?) will continue to be in the news, and new forms of energy are part of the picture as well.

Although large projects are not necessarily doomed to failure under a Jupiter-Pluto square, higher authorities may interfere or refuse to authorize the project's needed funds; or, powermongers may challenge the influence or authority of others, particularly those who have boastfully exaggerated their own importance or their extraordinary strength. Abuse or misuse of power is a caution under the sway of this square, and curiously, Alan Oken has labeled the Jupiter-Pluto square as an aspect of "the false prophet."

Jupiter-Uranus

By the second half of December 2016 the Jupiter-Pluto square will be past its orb of influence so now let's consider the Jupiter-Uranus opposition. As you know, their cycle began with three conjunctions, the first on June 8, 2010 (conjunct the Aries Point of Global Manifestation), the second on September 19, 2010 @28Pis43, and the third on January 4, 2011 @27Pis02. And since their cycle is about 14 years in duration, 2016 is imprinted with their opposition.

(Note: the next Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus won't occur until April 21, 2024 @21Tau50, a one-fer encounter).

Restlessness, a sense of adventure, and a deep thirst for knowledge and education usually accompany a Jupiter-Uranus contact along with scientific or other breakthroughs, and free or reduced college costs and loans in the US may be what is described here as well especially with powerful manipulator Pluto in a money house and squaring banking Jupiter and rebel Uranus.

Winter Solstice 2016 Horoscope: Following a Vision

Although it hasn't been long since I posted the Autumn Equinox 2016 Horoscope to Stars Over Washington I decided to go ahead and post the Winter Solstice 2016 Horoscope for you--one cosmic event occurs prior to Election Day 2016, the other afterwards.

This dynamic T-Square closely affects the 4/10 axis of Career and Public Status, and its energies express most fully in the 2nd house through apex Pluto, planet of obsession, and in a Cardinal pattern denotes those who act with ruthlessness and overwhelming power toward all challengers.

As you see, upper right, an *Image for Integration for the Winter season's Sun Capricorn-Moon Libra combination of conscious/unconscious energies is: "A visionary statesman fights a duel to see justice done." Now I don't know if this refers to legal matters, a particular personality trait, and/or disputed election results but I do think the Winter Solstice horoscope has financial, military, and political concerns and conflicts woven throughout--and with the September 16, 2016 Lunar Eclipse at the Basis of it all--the HOW? Point of any chart.

We the People and a Libra Moon

Yet we have to wonder whose vision is being followed? After all, a "duel" could describe the Clinton-Trump contest for White House control and, perhaps, all or some of their three debates (the first of which hasn't occurred yet as I type). And with We the People's Moon @4Libra07 in 10th house, the public mood is sociable and obliging yet may be overly focused on non-essentials. Justice and fair play are reigning needs with a Libra Moon! Plus, with Jupiter in Libra, a regular refrain is, "that's not fair!" (as Mr. Trump's Libran Jupiter has often said). Add the energies of a Capricorn Sun and we have practical intellectualism, crusaders for causes, and those who are conservative yet liberal (which to me describes the majority of the American people).

Now, to see how things will proceed, let's consider the applying aspects of chart-ruler Jupiter which also rules the IC and 4th house (Real Estate and mortgage concerns?) plus, the Sun is joined by the inflationary speculator-spendthrift duo's midpoint, marked in the center of the wheel. And the Moon does rule the 8th house of Corporatism, Credit, Debt, and Insurance which indicates fluctuations and change and unstable Pisces is on the IC--and 8th cusp has America's natal planets in Cancer snugged around it (unmarked, though some US natal placements are marked around the chart in green, as you see).

1. Jupiter sextiles Saturn (0A15) recommends conservative investments since over-extension causes failure--high-risk ventures should be avoided; someone seeks recognition and reward and though there are hidden talents, real limitations should not be ignored; the wrong people may be trusted which leads to self-sabotage; privacy must be protected; false modesty hides underneath an imperious facade (Tierney).

2. Jupiter opposes Uranus (0A41): business matters such as fund-raising or organizational expenditures stall; group endeavors are difficult to manage as members wander off into various directions; personal networks are full of conflict and opposing views (Jupiter-Uranus = political conflicts--Ebertin); during this period a greater need for independence and freedom may be at the base of most problems.

Now Jupiter does apply to a third aspect but it's with Chiron in Jupiter's sign of Pisces and it's an inconjunct (quincunx) so it isn't formally on the list. However, this does suggest a time when there are disruptions and changes of direction (Nolle). Yes, the election of a new president can do that, naturally. But meanwhile, someone doesn't understand the importance of traditional structures (Clow) (and values--Cowell!) and, considering the hot mess that has been Campaign 2016, you can probably guess just who that someone may be...

Autumn Equinox 2011 Horoscope: Drastic Measures

Below is an image of the Autumn Equinox 2011 horoscope, the Libra Ingress, set for the White House, Washington DC; Hour Mars 2Leo37 conjunct President Obama's natal Mercury; chart-ruler Mercury 25Vir23 in 1st house makes two applying aspects: conjunct Sun (4A37), and opposite Uranus 2Ari41 Rx conjunct 8th cusp which conjoins US natal IC 00Ari53 (Sibly version of America's natal horoscope (5:10 pm LMT, July 4, 1776, Philadelphia, PA.)

The 8th cusp-Uranus-natal IC trio with Autumn Equinox Sun conjunct 2nd cusp indicates financial matters not coming together as expected so we must concentrate on what's working rather than on new methods. Compromise remains elusive as the president (Sun) knocks heads with radical political types (Uranus in Aries = Utopians, says Ebertin) over monetary policy and reform.

The embarrassing political and ideological battles continue into Spring 2012 and beyond as President Obama's character and suitability for office come even more under fire. And the whole world is watching as radical elements attempt to destroy our entire system of government, imperfect as it may be (and it is.) Thanks a lot, Ronald "Government Is Evil" Reagan, you really got the Destroy American ball rolling and the Dark Legacy of Reaganomics keeps on giving to the rich and taking from the poor.

And of course, the Deficit Reduction Committee's work is covered in the Autumn Equinox 2011 chart with the extraordinary power of a 'Super' Congress handed to 12 congress members which to my mind is unConstitutional. Their recommendations are due on November 23, 2011 in time for the November 25, 2011 Solar Eclipse @ 2Sag37--sitting at the Foundation of the Autumn EQ 2011 horoscope!!





As you see, a few of President Obama's natal planets are penned in around the chart: rising is his natal Pluto in Virgo opposite natal Chiron which here sets (conj DESC--Chiron opposite Pluto = 'knight in shining armor' on a Quest); Mr. Obama's natal Moon in Gemini (publicity through speeches) is at Midheaven (MC = The Goal; Aspirations; Public Status) along with two midpoints which create angular pictures with the MC and one with Obama's natal Moon...any, all, or none may apply...

Mars/Uranus = MC: taking drastic measures; extraordinary achievements; putting a gun to someone's head; an inflexible character; an act of violence.

Note: on C-SPAN this morning, Charlie Rangel referred to people "putting a gun to (the president's) head."

Mars/Uranus = BHO natal Moon: feelings govern; a desire to achieve something very big; ambition.

Moon/Uranus = MC: excitement and great energy; pursuit of ambitious aims; determination; ready for action; taking a hand suddenly or interfering.

Mercury also rules the 10th house of Public Standing bwo Gemini which indicates changes on the world stage for the US--Gemini's Mercury relates to communications, plans, but also commerce and trade; plus, Fixed Star Mirfak (Alpha Perseus) is @ MC, keywords: young male energy with hunting and fighting abilities. In any horoscope, a chart-ruler's applying aspects show how things will proceed. As mentioned above, Virgo is rising, so changeable Mercury 25Vir23 in 1st house rules the chart. The applying conjunction to the Sun will perfect on September 28 at 5Lib20...'6Lib' = "The Ideals of a Man Abundantly Crystallized" which may refer to the president's new push back stance gaining momentum.

Mercury opposing Uranus (7A18) shows oration, communications, and plans embroiled in quarrels, disagreements, and disruptions, and serious conflicts arise between the generations related to finances and ideologies. This opposition may also refer to social networking (Uranus) activism as young Americans (Mercury) get out on the streets in protest.

Now manipulative Pluto, pulling strings from behind the scenes (and from abroad) is apex planet in a YOD pattern ('Finger of God', special task, crisis, turning point, crossroads.) This is a very karmic configuration and, as we know, the crisis has been a long time coming (slow moving Pluto.)

Apex Pluto in a YOD formation shows those with fixated opinions and plans that have disturbing effects upon others (not that Pluto cares about others) and past conditions must die so that a new path is revealed; this Pluto represents those with high executive positions of authority who are determined to usher in a New Order.

Perhaps I don't need to tell you this, but the people represented by this anti-social Pluto hold extreme perspectives that are out of focus with society's views and values.

A midpoint picture is created from the YOD:

Mars/MC = Pluto: extraordinary zeal and great vigor; the desire to bring immense tasks to a successful conclusion.

Transit Pluto continues to oppose US natal Jupiter 5Can56 and denotes America's financial, political, and social struggles against powerful plutonian forces desiring to break down our nation and all civil institutions.

Yes, Pluto is very busy this Autumn as apex in a second planetary pattern--a T-Square between the Sun/Uranus opposition.

First, the midpoint picture:

Sun/Uranus = Pluto: radical reformers (we know!!); a desire to rearrange things (without the American people's consent!); tragic experiences; imprisonment;
very provoking others with constant rebellion and distractions; disruptions of events to gain recognition; direct attacks on the individuality of others to gain more notoriety for self or interests.

As apex in a Cardinal T-Square, Pluto denotes those with intense focus on objectives and an inability to compromise with others; sharing power is a non-starter, and explosive endings may be thought necessary in order to make a new start; again, this Pluto represents high powered executives--who feel much contempt for those they manipulate, and the case of this T-Square, those whose plans they block.

Netanyahu to Congress: Saturn/Uranus = Pluto

May 24, 2011: it's a little after 11 am edt, and any minute now, Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu is to speak before a joint session of the US Congress. With the ongoing Saturn/Uranus opposition pointing toward powerful Pluto, we are about to experience a real-life express of the T-Square with the Saturn/Uranus combo the celestial representatives of the Middle East, particularly of Israel and Palestine.

The violence and brutality of the T-Square I will not repeat here since I've tired of typing it these last several months it has been in force but I do notice from this morning's horoscope set for the Capitol Building that the Moon has just gone past Neptune in very early Pisces, and the pair are in a midpoint picture with Mars/NN, a significator of energetic meetings, cooperative pursuits, and/or a lack of adaptability, falsehood, the use of mercenaries, an ability to attract or to sell military might from others, allies who send military help when needed, military hardware provided by friends, non-payment for military weapons or supplies, aggressive actions against the nation by hostile countries, and/or treaties broken by hostile acts.

Moon and Neptune indicate the public, publicity, the masses, the media, and illusion or deception. As a pair, they represent sensitivity, refined feelings, impressionability, fanciful imaginings, far-reaching wishes (like a world capital in Jerusalem? global domination?), and inner vision. Mr. Netanyahu is to lay out his (alleged) vision for peace. Let's see if this is Israel's usual 'my way or the highway' stance.

Any, all, or none may apply:

Mars/NN = Moon: an emotional attitude toward others; unions based on soul affinity; insistence on the acceptance of ideas; a fixed inconsistency.

At 11:23 am edt, the Speaker of the House announces PM Netanyahu as "His Excellency" to much applause. Sounds monarchic to me.

Netanyahu begins to speak with 17Leo rising, Mars in Taurus near MC, and this martian midpoint picture in play:

Neptune/MC = Mars: a desire to bring wrong ideas into realization; the desire to harm other people; the study of metaphysical subjects; a need to activate plans derived from mystical images.

11:29 am: someone in the gallery shouts out but I can't make out the words. Congress responds with loud applause to cover it up and I'm certain the person (sounded like a lady) is already being ushered out. Netayahu then comments on protests, "This is real democracy." But he didn't hear what she shouted and didn't care.

Wonder what's going on in the hall for her in our (alleged) democracy just brimming over with an abundance of 'free speech'?

"Israel isn't what is wrong with the Middle East, Israel is what is right with the Middle East. " he intones. And with that propagandistic assertion, I'll mosey along before his terror-mongering begins...

Washington DC by the Light of a Libra Full Moon April 17, 2011

The Air (mental) sign of Libra is all about relationships, balance, justice, and beauty. The opposite degree of the Full Moon's degree is the Illumination Point where unconscious info lurks if we care to take a peek, and it is naturally the degree of the Sun (27Ari44 in 5th house; see their Sabian Symbols below.)

On the chart you'll see mention of the Thales Point ('a saving grace') here occupied by Neptune in 3rd house and lending support to the Full Moon's oppositional energies for it trines the Moon and sextiles the Sun; Neptune 00Pis22 stimulates America's Pre-Natal Eclipse by degree (00Pis33 in 1776), the 12 South, which repeated on July 11, 2010 and aided the BP-Gulf Oil Blowout with its main theme: 'successful outcomes to long term worries or illness; draining concerns will at first seem worse then clear with successful outcomes' (paraphrasing Brady's Predictive Astrology.)

By emphasizing the positive side of spiritual, inspirational Neptune, god of the oceans - and planet of The Divine Source - we may be aided and lifted in our endeavors if the Thales Point holds true. Yet motives count!

Add to this the energies of the Uranus/Pluto square -5A25- now bringing replays of social upheaval and protests as in the 1960s when the two met in Great Conjunction near the MC of the Libra Full Moon chart shown here; the Saturn/Pluto square -5A19- echoes their Great Conjunction of Nov 8, 1982 at...wait for it...27Lib36, so this Full Moon signifies a double transit to Saturn/Pluto's past degree and triggers their current cycle by blockage and frustration (the square.) Not good. Reagan's policies of the 1980s still affect our nation, fraudulent Neptune's trickle down theory included, and they continue to turn up in the news.

Therefore, we may say that:

Uranus/Pluto = MC: aspirations for reforms; mobility; an instant grasp and exploitation of every situation; restlessness; prudence; grand vision; an opportunity to rise to leadership.

Saturn/Pluto = Sun: sparing no pains in one's work; privation (and/or privatizing social safety net programs which would only add to the privation Republicans seem to want for us?); renunciation; physical separation; toil and over-exertion.

Saturn/Pluto = Moon: inconsistencies in records, work, or achievements; melancholy; tragedy; cold feelings.

Of course, any mention of Saturn/Pluto reminds us of the attacks of 9/11/01 when the two karmic planets were in oppposition across the ASC/DESC axis of the US natal chart (Sibly version = 5:10 pm LMT.)

Full Moons Culminate and Flower the Seeds of the Prior New Moon

First let's follow the trail of dispositorship to see where things lead and it begins with chart-ruler Jupiter 19Ari14 (the Exaltation of the Sun degree giving an ego-expansion theme) in 5th H of Risk-Taking, Gambling, and Creative Pursuits with Jupiter ruled by Mars 12Ari20 (at critical or crisis degree as is Saturn 12Lib48 Rx in 10th H of Public Status) in 4th H of Domestic Scene. To me this indicates more protests, activism, and perhaps riots with the number of arrests increasing in the US, Land of the Free.

Also in 4th H are evaluating Venus as noted (foreclosures ongoing), rebellious upheavaler Uranus 2Ari05, and Mercury Rx 14Ari04. Mercury opposes Saturn as does Mars but not as closely so one T-Square is formed with a second not as intense but becoming so as Mercury retrogrades into position.

Here are both midpoint pictures from the T-SQs for your consideration; the usual suspect, subversive Pluto in 2nd H of Earnings and Worth, is apex planet in both pictures - the first one you've heard before because it's been in effect for a while now:

Mars/Saturn = Pluto: brutality; rage and fury; intervening of a Higher Power (US and NATO air strikes in Libya?); bodily harm, injury; murder; the death of many people.

Mercury/Saturn = Pluto: toiling or grappling with unusual and special problems; brooding over one's destiny; plans determine one's fate.

Pluto as apex planet in a Cardinal T-Square pattern indicates intensely driven individuals who don't integrate easily with others - and don't wish to; control and power are jealously guarded; hidden strengths help them confront and overwhelm opposition in a ruthless manner; power reserves are applied toward crisis situations; may have a chip-on-shoulder; signifies high-powered executive positions that demand penetrating insights into crucial phases of all operations; explosive endings make for fresh starts as a new phase is entered; others readily pick up on this dynamic vibration yet it's difficult to ferret out Pluto's true identity.

Yet we know the plutonians and plutocrats by what they produce in the world, don't we? This includes the grossly wealthy, and nuclear waste and disaster such we see in Japan as radiation spreads across the entire globe.

Now the former T-SQ with Saturn/Uranus = Pluto has separated as you see yet their midpoint picture still influences events by way of: violence and rebellion; a desire to overcome difficult situations through extraordinary effort (not, it seems, a positive these days yet it depends on people's true motives); intervention of a Higher Power; harm through force majeure; war.

Here are the Full Moon's other midpoint pictures; house positions of the apex planets tell where the energies have outlet for manifestation:

Sun/Mars = Jupiter: optimism; striving for power; the Civil Servant; success; taking possession. (My bold.)

Sun/Uranus = Mercury: a young reformer (DC contains many of those but Mr. Obama and Mr. Ryan come instantly to mind); making arrangements; quick and prudent actions.

Sun/Venus = Mars: creative power. (The Sun/Venus combo seems innocuous enough on the surface with its connection to The Arts yet Michael Munkasey under his Business and Politics category gives its potentials as: a society which is estranged from its leadership; using national or business wealth to sustain authority; how a society shapes the direction of its growth (budget, deficit, and credit limit battles?); the nature of reserves, resources, and the role they play in development. Also indicated by Sun/Venus: thyroid, kidneys, and infections that affect smell, taste (such as the metallic taste from radiation poisoning?), and other senses.

Circled on the chart is an inconjunct (or, quincunx, an aspect showing adjustments are direly needed) between Jupiter and Midheaven. With Jupiter in pioneering Aries and in 4th H of Real Estate and Security, we may expect Jupiter with his money connotation and Republican Party signification to need more adjusting or bargaining on issues such as war costs (Jupiter the General), home foreclosures and other Real Estate concerns (4th H), Career and Public Staus (10th H), and issues relating back to 9/11/01 (9/11's Sun at MC, as marked on chart.)

A Sun/Jupiter quincunx shows that someone's talents are not being fairly rewarded so there is discontent at not being appreciated or fairly treated, self-confidence may be lacking (which affects stock markets), physical exhaustion can set in due to workers' production levels being too high already (one reason our unemployment rate is way too high), plus, over-reactions to criticism may be prevalent within all of Jupiter's usual 9th H realms.

The prior lunation (Syzygy Moon) of this Full Moon is the New Moon 13Ari30 of April 3, 2011; tonight's Mercury Rx triggers and recalls the April 3rd New Moon and its degree:

'14Ari' = "A Serpent Coiling Near a Man and a Woman" which may be sinister and has a health connotation (radiation, or perhaps Mr. Obama's health insurance legislation? And since this degree's Keyword is REVELATION, tonight's Full Moon in Libra may be helpful in revealing a secret or two.

Now if we use this Moon to represent we-the-people and Sun to indicate leadership, a brief look at their Sabian Symbols may be as good a way as any to end this post, remembering that a Full Moon is an opposition relating to relationships, balance, and, to awareness:

Moon '28Lib' = "A Man in Deep Gloom. Unnoticed, Angels Come to His Aid" (my best advice: always notice your guardian angels, m'peops, and give thanks for their kind protection! ;p)

The PE of this Full Moon (last Solar Eclipse) is the 13N from *January 4, 2011 - it began our year with its vibes of 'large, ambitious group projects that require a separation, then joint achievement' (Brady); it falls in 2nd H along with Pluto and an interesting midpoint picture that forms with transiting Neptune/NN now landing upon US natal Pluto 27Cap33 Rx: exercising a bad influence upon associations; the breakdown of relationships through living together (uh oh! Under a Full Moon, too: trouble in the Obama household due to the stress of living in the White House fishbowl? Autumn Equinox 2010 on Capitol Hill

As you see, the 12S Series manifested on July 11, 2010 @ 19Can24 (we're in it now) and falls within the 2nd house of Money, Earning Ability, and Values in the Autumn EQ chart. Fall EQ 2010's Saturn rules 8th house and is positioned at 6Lib46 which inhibits or delays Creative Projects, Gambling, and Risk-Taking. This may be a good thing considering how Capitol Hill has spent and gambled with taxpayers' money the last several years and put us into beggarship. Alternately, Saturn here may indicate loss through gambling or risk-taking, so caution is advised.

The big, honkin' mass of T-Squares all point to manipulative puppet master Pluto 2Cap49 (again opposing US natal Venus in Cancer); Mr. Hades refuses to share his power or reveal his true plans; highlighted in yellow, upper right, is the list of the midpoint pictures formed by the T-SQs; please look them up for some are repeats which I've noted here before.)

One date to mark on our calendars is Nov 9, 2010 when the Moon meets Pluto meeting the transiting North Node of encounters with destiny. The dragon's head (NN) conjoins Pluto, the dragon, while the dragon's tail (SN) swipes US natal Venus, planet of evaluations and relationships. Moon-Pluto-NN 3Cap36 hook up @ 3:13 pm est, Washington DC. (I'm using the Moon as a timer here to get an exact moment; the Pluto/NN conjunction lasts longer than that, of course.)

Soon to come is this Wednesday's New Moon 15Vir41 of September 8, 2010 (Rosh Hashanah) also also falls in 4th house of the EQ chart (noted as 'Syz Moon' = Syzygy Moon, the prior lunation), along with the unaspected chart-ruler Mercury, planet of commerce, trade, young people, reporters, journalists, and bloggers. All types of communications, speeches and speech writers are also under Mercury's purview. That the speedy one is unaspected strengthens the mercurial energies of the chart within its house and sign (with the effects lasting until at least Winter Solstice 2010 - or perhaps until Spring EQ 2011.) Plus, Mercury is strong in one of its own signs.

With Virgo being the sign of the critic, book writer, and health worker, we may expect emphasis placed on these areas to be of great interest in the US. If a new book hits the best seller list, it will most likely be from a home grown author, or its topic will center on US concerns which include real estate.

Mercury in 4th house may also indicate a moving of residence, and its energy may boomerang into the 10th house of Career. Moon in sympathetic Pisces is an interesting placement and with sign Pisces at MC, career decisions may overwhelm the people (Moon); much publicity may continue to center on (un)employment issues.

Plus, Luna nears the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction 28Pis10/33, both Rx, a pairing of energies that describes explorations, scientific, or technological realms. Jupiter rules Pisces with Neptune as co-ruler (as I say around here) and with Neptune 26AQ27 Rx conj Chiron 26:59 Rx - both conjunct US natal Moon - we may expect more news and concerns about oil spills and blowouts, gas leaks, or flooding here or abroad (9th house, but conjunct US n Moon.)

Now I don't usually include the mysterious Dark or Black Moons but I have penned one in because it conjoins the Neptune-Chiron-US natal Moon trio at MC: it's Dark Moon w/mat2 which I note as a depression indicator and as a spot in a horoscope where something is being hidden. Since it's near MC, perhaps revelations about the Deepwater Horizon blowout (and other water disasters) will be aired in the next few weeks or months.

ASC 23Gem00 brings up America's natal Mars, planet of action, energy, motivation, quarrels, and war. Fixed Stars Capella (Alpha Auriga, of constellation Auriga, The Charioteer: the need for independence; taking the reins of control) and Phact (Alpha Columba Noae: exploring unchartered waters; seeking the unknown; the quest for adventure) are rising as well. Note the keyphrases for Phact in relation to America's tendency to expand and invade territories.

Also, Columba Noae = The Dove of Noah's Ark, which is hopefully a reference to President Obama's participation (or refereeing?) of the Middle East peace process - such as there is one. 'Columba' or 'Columbia' also refer to America as does 'Atlantis' (which also relates to ancient Atlantis and to the Atlantic Ocean; keywords: where one feels doomed; abuse of power); you see that
Atlantis is penned into the 4th house and is conjoined with nasty old asteroid, Nemesis (divine retribution; the unbeatable foe.) Foes we got, foes we continue to make as abuse of power occurs on all sides.

One worst case scenario may be that the 4th house Mercury unaspected in criticizing Virgo with difficult asteroids = terrorists in the homeland, yet links to the US military cannot be ruled out (US natal Mars rising) especially with US n Neptune in 4th house - our national Mars/Neptune square may be at work with its confused motivations and/or deceptive actions. US security needs are on the agenda.

And if the 29th-crisis-degreed Dec 21, 2010 Lunar Eclipse (here, in 1st house) affects the markets as previously predicted along with the finance-influencing Solar Eclipse of Jan 4, 2011 (opposing US natal Sun and also at a critical degree), troops may be held on stand-by and perhaps for good reason - to control the angry peasants. FDR signs SS Act Aug 14, 1935 (video)

Here is President Franklin Roosevelt signing into law the Social Security Act of 1935 and making a few remarks afterwards.

The bill signing of August 14, 1935 makes today SS's 75th anniversary, so Happy Birthday and may you enjoy many more returns, SS. As a small business owner in the US, I've paid 100% of my FICA taxes into the SS fund for decades so naturally I remain partial to this social 'safety net' program. Really now, what would Americans have done without it?

The bill was signed under the auspices of a separating Sun/Jupiter square which is an aspect of a 'wheeler-dealer' who tends to promise more than can be delivered. And unfortunately for the American populace, through recent years the program has been more often used as a political football for manipulating the public than it's been adequately shored up (though there are those who would disagree) and honored.

On Aug 14, 1935, asteroid Ceres (security issues) @ 10Vir15 was in opposition to US natal Ceres in Pisces (which is conjoined with the US natal Pluto/Chiron midpoint, a duo of plutocracy. ) We don't have to stretch very far to recall the instructive warning of US Senator from Arizona, Barry Goldwater, which touches on this and related monetary and plutocratic matters:

"A government that is big enough to give you all you want is big enough to take it all away."

And Washington has been trying to dismantle SS for years and mislabeling it an 'entitlement program' - how can it be when its funds are paid in by employers and their employees (or the self-employed like me) who work for the incomes the tax is lifted from by law?

Craziness! Old King Midas is a possessive and greedy old soul, isn't he? Meanwhile, Old King Cole is merry and musical! Both are Jupiter-Saturn figures.

A noon chart for Senator Goldwater (Jan 1, 1909, Phoenix, AZ) shows even without a correct birth time a certain midpoint picture which is now echoed in the collective by the current Jupiter/Saturn opposition squaring Pluto in Capricorn, part of the ongoing and massive Cardinal T-Square pattern the world is groaning under on many levels.

In Politics, Michael Munkasey gives the Jupiter-Saturn combo as 'justice systems at breaking point; processes concerning checks and balances; religious or social orders; leniency and harshness vie within the overall social and economic systems'.

The last reminds me of the current debate over ridding the US government of so-called entitlement programs. Guess the haunting specter of millions of elderly Americans joining others living on US streets doesn't bother proponents of 'austerity cuts' overly much.

Well, Jupiter and Saturn are the societal planets, as you know, and relate through their respective principles of expansion-restriction to such things as: markets, trade deficits, commerce, other financial concerns, ambitions, legal or religious oppression, and political policies and programs. And stealthy Pluto is, among other descriptions, the Dragon guarding the riches.

Therefore, it's the same word picture for Goldwater's natal, and the August 2010 transiting, Jupiter/Saturn = Pluto: immense efforts; restrictions; violent changes; separation; tremendous perseverance; dramatic thrust of self; control of the situation; major situational changes; having a total reversal of previous plans; intense business activity; transformation of personal ideas about the future into today's reality.

The Fed meets today, Jupiter-Neptune, and Plunder

Danny Schechter, whose documentary Plunder: The Crime of Our Time is being shown and re-shown on LINK TV these days (do catch it, if you can) has written an excellent article on the Wall Street Collapse 3 years later.

Comparing Wall Street's collapse and the current 'recovery' talking points the American public is being treated to with the BP-Gulf Oil Gusher's mysteriously disappearing oil, Mr. Schechter gives an overview of what was being written in 2007 along with his views on the topic, August 2010.

At the moment, I'm looking at a sunrise chart for 'Nixon ends debt redemption' when paying off debts became impossible, thanks to Tricky Dick and his pals. The date was August 14, 1971, in the midst of another bubbly, inflationary Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune.

Here are the dates and degrees of the speculation pair's meet-up which began a new cycle of their financial scheming (they are near conjunction in the NYSE natal chart: Jupiter 22Lib57 Rx, Neptune 27Lib42 Rx in 3rd house, May 17, 1792 10:00 am LMT, NYC):

1. Feb 1, 1971 @ 2Sag47
2. May 22, 1971 @ 1Sag44
3. Sep 16, 1971 @ 00Sag37

All these early Sag degrees relate to war.

Then during Reagan's terms there was a Great Conjunction as well but only once, on January 19, 1984 @ 00Cap01 (!) I believe I've blogged on this one before in my post on Reagan's signing of the Garn-St. Germain Act when he stated, "I think we've hit the jackpot!" It was a happy Jupiter Return (15Scorpio) for Ronald Reagan and pals.

Then there was the presidency of Bill Clinton, a topic I've never properly covered here. 'His' Jupiter-Neptune conjunction occurred on Jan 9, 1997 @ 27Cap09 - conjunct US natal Pluto...tr Jup/Nep = n Pluto: far reaching speculations; plans unreasonable beyond measure; a great loss. (Ebertin.)

Well, I know President Obama's 3 conjunctions of Jupiter and Neptune in May-July-December of 2009 have been covered here ad nauseum so I won't wax on (especially since internet service goes off and on this week due to work on my neighborhood's lines) except to say that the planetary pair of speculation, bubbles, and inflation has marked the presidencies of Nixon, Reagan, Clinton, and Obama.

(Clinton's presidency also enjoyed a fabulous windfall of Jupiter and Uranus, the scientific, technological pair: Feb 16, 1997 @ 5AQ56 conjunct US natal South Node.)

But what of George W. Bush? What monetary (Jupiter) pairing marked his terms?

Plutocratic Jupiter-Pluto whose Great Conjunction of December 11, 2007 @ 28Sag24 timed one of the Fed's interest rate reduction meetings-announcements.

And they are meeting again today as I type so if they follow their usual pattern an announcement will occur today around @2:15 pm edt during a Jupiter Hour...

ASC 22Sco38 = Saturn/NN: pulling back; suffering under difficulties with others.

Sun 18Leo01 (Venus' position on 9/11/01 and the degree of the August 11, 1999 Solar Eclipse) is focal point within a Fist of God pattern with the separating Jupiter-Pluto square at its base...

And of course, you know that the titanic Cardinal T-Square undergirds everything these days and includes today's Venus-Mars conjunction in Libra, Saturn in Libra, Jupiter 2Ari52 Rx, and Uranus 00Ari06 Rx -- all pointing toward Pluto 3Cap05 Rx in 2nd house at 2:15 pm in Washington DC.

The 9th house Moon 26AQ59 (just past last evening's New Moon in Leo) opposes both US natal Moon and tr Neptune 27AQ34 Rx which sits upon US natal Moon...fraud and lies to the people! Another Fed pronouncement is on the way...

Senate passes Financial Reform 5.20.10

Can America's Main Street finally be catching a break ahead of Wall Street?

Will stock markets crash or plummet as a consequence?

Are Oil Can Harry's days numbered now that our erstwhile Capitol Hillers have ridden into town to sheriff the joint and untie all the Pearl Purehearts from the financial tracks?

Just when we thought congressional oversight was the most apt and laughable oxymoron in our lexicon, the United States Senate actually passed something besides the buck.

Now, it may take the GOP an hour or two to get their sea legs back but they'll come out wildly swinging on behalf of corporate greed and malfeasance, and somehow...somehow there will be regular folk who will swallow the politically motivated poison and ask for a second and third helping of anti-Dem swill. (They're all of a piece, y'know - we'll never take back America by playing into their Ds v Rs game of diversion like the chuckleheads they think we are.)

And so, as Summer 2010 nears, the Cardinal T-Square of planets acts early while June 8's Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus awaits dramatically in the wings of the Universe approaching their cue at the Aries Point of World Manifestation.

Spring Equinox 2010 and the Astrology of it

This Saturday's Spring Equinox 2010 has a Sun Aries/Moon Taurus blend which you may wish to consider. Plus, the article points you back here to a Stars Over Washington post containing an image of the horoscope of the precise moment the Sun 'reaches' 00Aries00, the Aries Point, in Washington DC, on March 20, 2010.

As you know, the AP is one of the four Cardinal points of the zodiac and all are places where important events tend to manifest. (Ex: the June 2001 Solar Eclipse @ 00Cancer presaged the attacks of 9/11/01.) So you may wish to go directly to the chart image of Spring Equinox 2010 where you'll spy T-squares with Pluto as apex (focal) planet. In the chart Mercury and Sun are 'stand-ins' for Uranus which soon will reach the AP, thereby giving the world this difficult midpoint picture:

Horoscope of Spring Equinox 2010

Also known as Aries Ingress 2010, here is the horoscope for Spring Equinox 2010 when the Sun clocks in at 00Aries00, the Aries Point (AP), in the Tropical zodiac.

This chart is set for DC's Capitol Building, March 20, 2010 @ 12:32 pm est; Hour of the fluctuating Moon (see below: Moon conj Algol) but it should be set for 1:32 pm EDT. Mea culpa, but same chart even so.

For starters, 21Can12 rises which makes the Moon chart-ruler of Spring Equinox 2010's chart. Applying aspects of a chart-ruler tell the story of how things may proceed and here we see the Moon makes only applying aspects; in order they are:

1. sextile Uranus (0A33): opportunity; exciting possibilities;
2. square Neptune (1A10): blockage; separating fact from fiction nearly impossible;
3. sextile Sun (3A47): opportunity; the public relates easily with leadership;
4. square Chiron (2A09): blockage; high level of emotional awareness but too intense to learn from others;
5. trine Saturn (5A10): opportunity; respects tradition yet productive changes are seen as valuable; cautious, conservative, and creative.

Spring 2010 seems a bit of a roller coaster ride for the American people (Moon) and with Neptune visiting US natal Moon 27AQ10, we feel a sense of rootlessness continuing with foreclosures, loss of "our America" to unseen forces, refugee concerns, and homeland security - above all, security - appearing on the gigantic tab that Washington politicians are running up in our name -- and ultimately payable to who-knows-whom of foreign entities.

Yes, rebellious Awakener Uranus is still in Pisces for the moment but will soon conjunct AP and this Sun; Uranus is posited in 9th house as is jolly guru, Jupiter, significator of the Republican Party. With 9th house Philosophy, Religion, and Higher Education connotations, the Republicans are busy retooling their platform and hoping that religion and ideology will grease the wheels of power for them once again in November elections. I refer to the propagandistic, knee jerk, religious chain-yanking the GOP has been politically successful with in the past.

(Here's my usual clue for such things: true ministers and pastors of God don't frequent Earth's worldly halls of power - duh.)

Be all that as it may, my main point today is about the opposition between Saturn 1Lib23 Rx and the Spring EQ Sun, an aspect in which both actors (planets) may feel threatened by the other. With Sun in a mundane chart signifying 'the leader' we may expect President Obama's travails to go on as he learns Saturn's lessons, mostly in his personal dealings (yet he acts as the people's 'rep' as we've been taught.)

Lack of confidence in himself and ours in him are at the base of the problem as the opposition phase of the most recent Sun/Saturn cycle culminates for Spring Equinox 2010 and carries it's cyclic energy forward into the season (and until their next conjunction.)

Often with a Sun/Saturn opposition, others won't allow the Sun room to expand so space must simply be taken anyway. Expanded debt ceiling? Done!

Now this particular Sun/Saturn cycle began on Sept 24, 2009 with their conj @ 24Vir59, then on to 25Vir00 because Saturn reached that degree while the Sun shone upon the old taskmaster; soon Sun joined Saturn again. Sun/Saturn = Uranus: the unexpected becomes commonplace; the need for people who bring excitement (Sarah Palin? jc); unexpected barriers or turns of events; computers or astrologers playing important roles (!! Astrologer in the White House again? jc); clashes between the old ways of doing things and the long-established ways; crises in relationships; separations; nervous or emotional tensions; a fluctuating attitude toward life; a fight for individuality. The theme of Sun/Saturn itself is one of discipline and determination lending purpose to one's goals. Obviously the blend has an air of authority, persistence, and respectability to it, yet inflexibility is an issue, as well as having to work very hard to overcome restrictions and criticisms coming from others. (Hey, wait a minute: did I just sum up most of Mr. Obama's presidential experiences so far?)

So for Spring EQ 2010 we find that the Sun has now moved from his previous conj with Saturn in Sept 2009 to a conj with progressive Uranus about 3 days prior to Aries Ingress 2010.

And with South Node already risen and Mars 00Leo53 (now moving Direct) in 1st house and rising, we have a Mars/SN = ASC picture I'd prefer to ignore other than to say that war and violence are the usual results with the Mars/SN blend. And NN 17Cap56 rounded up to '18Cap' points toward the degree that marks the modern beginning of the NWO: the Great Conjunction of Uranus and Neptune on Oct 24, 1993 (3rd conj of three, 1993.)

Also rising in the 2010 EQ chart is Castor 20Can14 (Alpha Gemini), a Fixed Star whose twin, Pollux 23Can13(Beta Gemini), is always nearby. *Castor can indicate such things as: sudden fame or loss, crippling of limbs, or murder. Pollux indicates the possibility of disgrace, cruelty, rape, murder, poisons, thievery, danger from large animals or women (or large women? jc); astrology and the occult are also provinces of Pollux, the 'dark twin.' And with twins always representing polarities, Castor and Pollux are the most famous starry reps for the concepts of light/dark, black/white, positive/negative, etc. Both stars are linked to creativity, especially writing.

Highlighted (in red) is the T-Square pattern between the Sun/Saturn opposition as it squares apex Pluto 5Cap20 which has been blurbed upon here before. Its Cardinal energy shows a here-and-now imperative toward goals. That the goals belong to secret hand Pluto is what grumps me up the most. You?

Sun/Saturn = Pluto: illness causes developmental inhibitions; pressure to change one's entire value system (guess that's considered by some to be a broken 'system', too, a la the 'systems fail; reforms needed' Solar Eclipse of July 21, 2009 @ 29Can27; immune system breakdowns are indicated); threat of loss in relationships or to health ('health' or health insurance reform? jc); a disciplined person who wants and attracts power; increased will toward retaliating against others due to slights - 'paybacks'; overwhelming rigidity or inflexibility; elimination of pessimism or despair (ok, that last would be good. jc)

Plus, US natal Jupiter supplies the missing actor, energy, or point in the Cardinal T-Square which turns the T-SQ configuration into a Cardinal Grand Cross, and adds financial and ideological issues through Jupiter's influence and particpation.

Noel Tyl gives Sun/Saturn = Jupiter as: breakup of a value system or relationship for eventual recovery; a cloud with a silver lining.

Considering manipulative Pluto's tiresome intention to interfere in everything, we might then stretch a bit to include a second plutonian midpoint picture using Mercury 6Ari07...

Mercury/Saturn = Pluto: compulsive to ensure that information is indeed correct; serious incidents provoke the questioning of official communications; total communications breakdowns bring an end to doing business with others; brooding over one's destiny; toiling or grappling with unusual, special circumstances or problems.

Perhaps a bright spot in the Sun/Saturn T-Square with Pluto and the Sun/Saturn opposition itself is Mars acting as Thales Planet or Point: Mars sextiles Saturn and trines the Sun thus acting as a conduit for some of the pressure and tension of the opposition.

Another less heavy T-SQ is highlighted by dots:

NN/ASC = Venus: tactful treatment of or from others; focusing on values received from mutual participation (Rs cooperating with Ds? Personally I'm fatigued beyond all get-out with 'Rs vs Ds' dirty tricks against one another, tricks meant to ruin opponents, stop the people's business from being done, and divert our attention from implementation of their actual goals - yet they don't divert as much as play a part in veiling the class warfare being fought - against we-the-people. So far, we're losing for you can't fight what you refuse to recognize - jc.)

Well, you see the sensual Taurus Moon 26Tau13 in 11th house conjoining a nasty Fixed Star, Algol (Beta Perseus; aka, Caput Algol) 26Tau10. Chinese Astrology calls Algol Tseih She, meaning 'piled up corpses' and in Arabia the star is called, Ras al-Ghul, 'Head of the Demon' or 'wife of the devil.' Obviously, the concepts of feminine anger, rage, and passion are indicated here along with a connection to Lilith in the Talmud as a 'demon of the wind.'

Yes, the intense power of Mother Nature is also spotlighted by a reflection of Algol from the Spring Equinox 2010 Moon, and as always, Algol's deeply unconscious compulsion to take revenge will be better for all concerned if left unexpressed because when rage is that deep, there'll always be an inconvenient amount of blowback to unduly affect the innocent in harm's way.

If you dare click the chart to enlarge, you may read the questions I've posed concerning Saturn conj Ic. Restrictive Saturn will return to his degree in the 2010 Spring Equinox chart (1Lib23) on or about August 6, 2010 as he continues working over US natal Mc in our nation's Sibly chart (00Lib53.) But hopefully it's a good thing for our Real Estate issues for Spring 2010 that Saturn is actually out of 4th house and into 3rd even though he's close enough to affect 4th house with its Libra cusp. Perhaps the worst of US foreclosures and evictions are over - or at least will be ending soon.

Now if this sour post gives you a yen for more uplifting energies this Spring, you may wish to look again to the Divine Source of inspiration and life still available to us (this chart, in 8th house): Chiron conjunct Neptune, a spiritual pair now lighted affectionately upon the hearts and minds of the American people and available to all who wish to follow a higher path than the power brokers of Washington can ever offer to a living soul.

Yet tragically for the whole planet, US leaders continue to ignore we-the-people's deepest wishes for world peace as they arrogantly proceed with their determined, over-arching Sun/Saturn activities toward greater and encompassing control.

Well, I for one hopey-changey that they fail in forcing their one-world-government restrictions upon us...and with Sarah Palin's careless bomb-Iran threat most definitely included.

"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am President, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank."

Yes, I suspect you may also remember the elated applause from the audience when he mouthed what I thought then was an empty promise, typical during a political campaign. Having read Chalmers Johnson's book The Sorrows of Empire I knew the list of occupied countries was long. So as we know, Obama's bring-home-the-troops promise, above all others, is why the people thought they were voting for him. Saps.

Now, out of madness or for propaganda purposes, President Obama says he wants to increase the US nuclear arsenal, in spite of his recent SOTU Address when he said he "seeks a world without them." Yeah? If this is what he calls 'seeking' then finding will be a real b*tch.

Well, enough of my grumping (and pardon me for wanting a decent world to pass on to our children)...please read Laurence M. Vance's article Same Empire, Different Emperor where you'll find a disturbingly long list of the countries and territories now occupied by the United States of America.

After all, we bought it all and pay dearly for keeping the imperial illusion going, so we should at least know where all our real estate is located while our own neighborhoods are being decimated by foreclosures and evictions. Right?

And just think - America's imperialist career started with mild, lovely, non-belligerent Hawaii.

David Icke video: 'deliberate economic collapse' + Uranus to Aries Point

This is a video of David Icke speaking on the deliberate economic collapse (what I have called an 'engineered' one here and elsewhere so it's clarifying to hear Mr. Icke explaining the goals of the new world order agenda as he discusses the few people who manipulate global strings; they even had Pluto tossed out of our solar system's pantheon of planets - with Science's willing assistance) yet pesky astrologers insist on using Pluto's archetypes for saboteurs, assassins, the obscenely wealthy class, and the kind of secret hand the power elite like to use. Then, if we look closely enough, we see them wearing Pluto's glove of guilt.)

Anyway, Mr. Icke speaks of how narrowing our focus has been part of their machinations as education is dumbed down, more drugs are prescribed every year, and the general population is kept in ignorance of anything that might ruffle feathers and cause we-the-people (and the rest of the world) to plant our scornful eyes upon the villains of the piece...them.

For only by awakening the sleeping giant that is the American populace can a different direction be consciously taken by this nation. And it will take consciousness which is normally not one of the talents of the 'unwashed' masses especially since our ability for critical thinking has been so grievously under attack and weakened for decades by every means at their command: entertainment, drugs, corporate media, subliminal ads and symbols, charade 'debates' and faux 'elections' with 'Rs vs Ds' propaganda to keep us divided, etc, etc. It's a wonder that a majority of the American people can still stand upright at all especially since...

Our immune systems have been under attack for a long time. Ex: the 26 vaccines given to a child by the age of TWO (a massive, prolonged attack in itself with still-forming bodily systems forced to fight invaders, and before they're done, another set of invaders arrives suddenly - a booster shot - this won't hurt a bit! Then there are prescription drugs, illegal drugs ("War on Drugs" my patootie), food and drink additives - the rotten list is endless and Orwellian to the core.

But Don't Expect Help from the Vatican

Some of the kindest people I've known all through my life have been of the Catholic persuasion, people who did their faith rather than only professing it. But I am staunchly Protestant, if I must choose, so it is always with a feeling of dread that I ever mention the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, the Vatican. You know the ones - those whose predecessors 'dropped' a very inconvenient one of the Ten Commandments (no worship of graven images) and, needing a substitute for the hole thus created in God's Top Ten List, split the Commandment against 'coveting' into two. Nifty, if you can purport to do it. And if people follow you on it, well...you're in business.

Therefore, when it comes to the subject matter of this post, I'd be remiss not to mention (one more time) the enlightening message from John Paul II on New Year's Day 2004 when he openly called for a new world order (or a 'new economic order' since they're both fat off the same hog; loss of money - or fear of its loss - manipulates the masses into zombiehood along with drugs to keep us hazy. Wake up! A new film version of 'Alice in Wonderland' is coming to entice you into the 'fun' of it even more! She's hard to resist, that Alice.)

So? So the Vatican is behind the current one-world-government movement all the way and all the while...but it's a 'NWO' agenda which is not (as David Icke asserts as well) an inevitable outcome. It's a huge challenge to meet, but meeting and countering it is not impossible.


Here are some prominent Sabian Symbols (aka, word pictures - no astrologese facility required to read them in English) from the natal chart of the NWO where you'll discover a link to the modern-day birth chart of this devil's spawn (NWO = Uranus conj Neptune 1993), or you may wish to speed directly to the shriveled creature's natal chart because it's imperative that we ID our demons and face them squarely.

As I listen to David Icke speak in the video, I am reminded that rebellious Awakener Uranus about to reach *Aries Point (00Ari), a World Point of manifestation, which may, in tandem with the other planetary actors in the Cardinal T-Square (Uranus-Saturn-Pluto) in effect from Spring 2010 into 2014.

And if you use the Sibly version of the US natal chart, you know that Uranus conj AP also conjuncts US natal IC, the Foundation of the chart. We might use this Sag rising chart for America's money issues since it's Jupiter-ruled, and Uranus to IC (4th house of Domestic Scene, Homeland, Housing Market, etc) always brings surprises and upheavals. Circumstances tend to be unstable and unpredictable when Uranus enters 4th house, so I won't try.

Well, maybe just a little, though the news isn't good...

The Cardinal T-Square's Saturn is in US (Sibly) 10th house, a possible indicator of loss of worldly power, prestige, reputation, and career status - loss if Saturn's responsibilities have not been handled with care - they have not; if they had been, it could be a time of consolidation - but if it is, it's the wealthy consolidating against the rest of us. You feel it, don't you?

Pluto in early Capricorn is traversing the US (Sibly) 1st house from whence The Dragon (Pluto) lumbers in the midst of his long opposition to America's natal Venus, Jupiter, Sun line-up in Cancer (3 - 14 Can.)

Yet can it be so symbolically simple that 'The Dragon' represents China in this mystery play? Hmm. Other regions of the globe have had dragons as their symbols for centuries. The Crusaders' St. George myth can tell you all about his victory, the tale of which was brought back to the West by Crusaders who had ravaged the East. And the negative behavior pattern continues.

Well, these are pretty much the things I'm pondering today as more rain falls in Georgia and millions of my fellow Americans huddle underneath a very large snowy blanket of brrr-r-r. Hope you all have the warmth and sustenance you need to safely wait out the thaw.

1st International Astrology Day Blog Carnival: Cardinal T-Square 2010

In March 2010, master astrologers Donna Cunningham and C. J. Wright will be co-hosting the 1st International Astrology Blog Carnival in honor of the Aries Ingress 2010 and with the goal of providing practical solutions for those who wish to better deal with the Cardinal T-Square of Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto, a planetary pattern which affects us personally and collectively from 2010 to 2014.

As you know, these 3 heavyweights form a T-Square pattern with Saturn and Uranus in opposition, pointing to powerful manipulator Pluto in Capricorn at apex, and many folk are expecting difficult events from these planetary energies (which the world is already experiencing.)

Periods of Saturn/Pluto squares can bring harshness and cruelty when social responsibilities are seen as burdens, while Uranus/Pluto squares are a revolutionary combo due to curtailments of liberty and freedom (Uran/Plu were squared in the years 1931 to 1934 when Hitler and Roosevelt rose to power. There be great dangers if we remain apathetic to the political developments of 2010 to 2014.)

Now I don't know where these transiting planets stomp in your natal chart - hopefully you do, for it'd be good info to have - but I do know that few if any of us will go completely unscathed by the difficulties this pattern creates.

Yes, both Saturn (tradition; status quo; old) opposing Uranus (progress; disruption; new) are planets associated in part with Science and Politics, and the November 2008 election of President Obama occurred on one of the very days of their exact opposition. Speculation was rife across the internet asking if Barack Obama was signified by change-promoting Uranus. Did he really want to bring us "Change We Can Believe In"?

Well, this reluctant astrologer had to fall into the 'natal Saturn Rx in Capricorn = status quo' camp concerning his presidency and in recent days I've heard commentators and pundits mentioning again just how 'establishment' (Saturnian) he's turned out to be. Quelle surprise? Mais non!

Yet sadly for America and for those who thought they were voting for a 'peace candidate' with a populist persuasion (suckas!) Mr. Obama is not (as I expected) removing the US from war in the Middle East. In fact, he has escalated war, as you know.

Do I digress a bit from the 2010 International Astrology Blog Carnival's 'meeting personal challenges' theme?

Perhaps. But only so that I may insert again the interpretation of the Saturn-Uranus-Pluto Cardinal T-Square's midpoint picture which describes the unfortunate flavor of our times, bringing difficulties for which we can all use advice in order to manage their possibilities - any, all, or none may apply:

Saturn/Uranus = Pluto: tremendous fear of loss; upheaval to protect assets; rebellion; brutality; a desire to overcome difficult situations through extraordinary efforts; concealing changes to activities; drastic changes in a previously liberal atmosphere. (Tyl; Ebertin; Munkasey; my bold.)

Changes? Yes, but not the kind most of us wanted or expected under Pres. Obama's watch.

In The Combination of Stellar Influences, Reinhold Ebertin gives the blend of 'Saturn/Uranus' as representing obstinate, self-willed, or violent people and it can manifest as 'kicking against tutelage and against the limitation of freedom'...but also with a determined ability to cope!

And as Celeste Teal observes in her excellent book Eclipses, Uranus = Aries Point is 'a historical marker for science' and this indicator plays into most descriptions of the Cardinal T-Square's Uranus at AP, conjunct the Foundation (Ic) of America's natal chart (Sibly version); therefore my plan is to post the Aries Ingress 2010 chart asap.

Plus, we note that the series of 3 Great Conjunctions of the 'scientific breakthroughs' and 'new explorations' planets, Jupiter and Uranus, will begin at Aries Point on June 8, 2010. You may wish to read more about them in Anne Whitaker's excellent book Jupiter Meets Uranus.

We may even wish to substitute Jupiter in place of Uranus in our T-Square formula especially since Jupiter and Saturn are the two societal planets - same sources as noted above:

Jup/Sat = Pluto: tremendous perseverance; dramatic thrust of self; control of the situation; major change of situation; fearless; restrictions; separations; being unafraid of any work or trouble in order to attain desired aims slowly but surely; immense effort; violent changes; a total reversal of plans; transforming personal ideas about the future into today's reality; intense business activity.


Well, I don't like saying so but the Solar Eclipse @ 19Can24 on July 11, 2010 may mark a world financial collapse, the one that has supposedly been warded off. (You'll see a chart image there and a more complete interpretation of the Cardinal T-Square's midpoint picture within the post. Who's behind all this misery? Follow the money and the power grabs...and ask that detached, ivory-towered apex Pluto. If you can find the booger.)

To counter the real possibility of a worldwide financial collapse on the horizon, economist Joseph Stiglitz is calling more loudly this very today for a second stimulus package, in fact, and his book Free Fall is very descriptive: Free (Uranus) Fall (Saturn)!

So even though the world is haplessly goose-stepping itself on down the trail toward totalitarianism, perhaps the upcoming Jupiter/Uranus conjunction/s of 2010/2011 will be a bright spot along the way and will herald one of the combo's much-needed 'fortunate turns' of direction!

Right off the bat you see that this is a difficult Solar Eclipse, don't you? So if you prefer a pie-in-the-sky type of Astrology, you may wish to skip reading this post which concerns politics, business, and financial systems.

Sun/Moon 19Can24 conjoins both the Heliocentric North Node of Pluto, and Fixed Star Castor (sudden fame or loss, murder, mental illness, crippling of limbs - A. Louis.) Celeste Teal adds for Castor the possibilities of decapitation, fevers, and rape.

Midpoints of Sat/Plu and Mars/NN are rising...all, any, or none may apply; details from Tyl, Ebertin, and Munkasey:

Sat/Plu = ASC: cumbersome or difficult circumstances; sadness; bereavement; separation; silent power or continuing influences; concentration upon important matters; assessment of how to work with powerful people.

Michael Munkasey gives the 'Saturn/Pluto' combo in relation to politics and business as: use of secret police or military agencies; restraints on destructive weapons; upsets in existing checks and balances; turmoils in rigid or older structures; earth blocks sewage systems.

That's the Thesis; here's the Antithesis of 'Sat/Plu': secret preparations for future restrictions; keeping affairs private and not open to scrutiny; hoarding resources for potential future disasters; lengthy considerations of removal methods or methods of destruction.

Employing stealth, replacing past rigid habit patterns, correcting the effects of past excesses, and an ability or failure to adequately provide for conditions of future reversals may also be represented by the Sat/Plu blend of harsh energies.

An Eclipse in Cancer personalizes its effects for any nation having strong Cancer placements (US) and indicates a highlighting of issues such as homeland, domestic scene, security issues; consumerism, food crops, milk; business and real estate.

Its 8th house position for the US shows a link to the financial system and economy and may indicate delays of new opportunities for expansion and growth, stress in educational systems (reforms will be costly), long distance travel, publishing and religion; markets fluctuate (perhaps wildly.)

Scandals are always possible when an Eclipse lifts the rock and this Eclipse's 8th house position may bring more revelations concerning frauds, thefts, and deceits.

12S is America's Pre-Natal Eclipse Series (PE) which occurred @ 00Pis33 on Feb 19, 1776. And here wounding/wounded Chiron @ 00Pis19 Rx is, as you see (click chart to enlarge) triggering our nation's PE. (Chiron is 'experiential'.) And now that Chiron has entered nebulous, obfuscating Pisces, oceanic sign of compassion and creativity, can President Obama's Chiron Return be far behind?

Actually, while we're on the subject, let me give the doozy of a Chiron Return for Mr. Obama - it's quite unsual for any return chart because it's a '5-er'...

Barack Obama's Chiron 5Pis19 Rx (born Aug 4, 1961) returns to natal degree:

1. May 21, 2011;
2. June 27, 2011 Rx;
3. Feb 26, 2012;
4. Oct 19, 2012 Rx;
5. Dec 10, 2012.

Yowch! Since this leaves me quite speechless (unusual, I know), yet this list must be left for another time except to say that Mr. Obama's lessons relating to Chiron are massive indeed, and yes, this will affect the country he leads, assuming he completes his term, and that Earth's poles don't shift us to kingdom come by Dec 2012.

There are many factors worth discussing in the chart you see pictured here and I trust my able Astrology colleagues online to analyze them in various ways as they emphasize the chart's multi-facets. Therefore, I shall veer a little to a synchronicitous consideration since I deal primarily on this blog with Washington DC and the politicians who infest our nation's capital.

And you, dear reader, have certainly been paying close attention to the corporate bailouts and other shady dealings which Capitol Hill and Wall Street have been perpetrating upon our nation - those which have become impossible for even the most problem-avoiding ostrich to ignore as they culminated in Financial Collapse 2008.

Transiting Pluto, that secret hand and spying saboteur (and Dragon Guarding the Riches) now opposing US natal Venus, Jupiter, and Sun in Cancer tells a tale of outer forces allied against the US financial system; these transits has been covered here before. And tr Saturn and Pluto have been affecting the Fed's natal chart, too.

So there are two things I want to mention now about the Solar Eclipse @ 19Can24: it triggers a Great Conjunction from the past of two planets that together related directly to financial and industrial titans (global bankers), the Fed, and to religious leaders as well: Jupiter/Pluto, with its 'great desire for power over others' flavor.

Their Great Conjunction of Dec 11, 2007 marks what has been officially touted as the beginning of the current recession. And the brittle, make-or-break, old vs new energies of Saturn/Uranus came into play in Dec 2007 because Jupiter and Pluto met @ 28Sag23 which is precisely where Saturn/Uranus last conjoined at the start of their current cycle: 3x in 1988.

Actually, it would be helpful if you'd read a previous post concerning the Jupiter/Pluto Conjunction of Dec 11, 2007, a day when the Fed gave a pronouncement on interest rates after their meeting - perfectly described by Jupiter meeting Pluto.

The post mentions the Saturn/Uranus connection, opposing one another during the 2008 presidential campaign, and the tr *Saturn/Neptune midpoint @ 29Sco07 which, as you know, was the position of our Inauguration 2009 Moon, the people. (Pres. Obama's natal Mc is indicated in late Scorpio as well, though when I wrote the post in Dec 2007, I didn't know he'd become President.)

Yes, the connection between 1929 and 2008 'collapses' and the Fed's machinations behind the scenes have been mentioned zillions of times in the news media since 2008, so what are the chances that the Fed is intimately involved in both the Crash of 1929 AND the Collapse of 2008? I thought you'd agree.

Something I've been intending to mention: the ongoing Sat/Pluo square and the tunnel conditions that seemingly merit 'underground' (Plu) 'barriers' (Sat) being built by Israel in Palestine and by the US in Mexico. Harsh and cruel. Absolute disaster. Worse for Palestine now, for US and Mexico later, and both relate to crime waves, but they're wasting their time and our money, imho. #
