Horoscopes: Jupiter Stations in June and October 2021

Monday July 5, 2021: Below are dual DC Horoscopes of transit Jupiter's two stations this year: Rx (retrograde) on June 20th @2Pis11 and Direct on October 18th @22AQ19. In this post I'm relating the Great Benefic to his role as 'the General' although you know that mundane Jupiter can wear many hats and play multiple roles, even as 'the thespian', 'the politician', 'the banker', 'the CEO', 'the broadcaster', 'the promoter', and 'the guru'. But for the purpose of this particular planetary 'change of direction' (seemingly!), I've penned on a particular Sabian Symbol for Jupiter the General's rounded-up degree (23AQ) due mainly to President Biden's announced withdrawal (Rx) in April 2021 of US troops from Afghanistan expected to be completed by September 11, 2021. This roughly follows the cosmic calendar of Jupiter the General so it will be interesting to observe whether events "on the ground" occur as scheduled (by September 11, 2021) or follow more closely Jupiter's cosmic schedule - As Above, So Below.

Yet we should also note that transit Jupiter won't reach and surpass his Shadow Degree (of 2Pis11 where he retrograded in June) until January 9, 2022 (on or about) so that Jupiterian events, conditions, and people will be able to move forward more easily and with fewer delays and obstacles from there.

Although they're penned on the charts, here I'll type out for you the midpoint pictures that have stationing Jupiter as apex planet along with a few of their potential expressions - the first on June 20, 2021, the second on October 18, 2021; that Jupiter is stationing suggests an extended period of time, plus, any, all, or none may apply and can be activated by transits and progressions:

June 20th Jupiter Rx = Saturn-Neptune (illness; weakness, etc): 'egoism; narrow-mindedness; depression' (sometimes expansive Jupiter can 'grease the slippery slope'); 'sensitivity; lung or liver disease' (R. Ebertin). From N. Tyl add: 'very upset with the ways of the world; losing the will to fight'. And M. Munkasey adds, 'deceptive practices concealed by religious ceremonies or implications'.

October 18th Jupiter = Neptune-Pluto (organized crime; the supernatural): 'sectarians; peace-lovers; a high degree of perception' (R. Ebertin). Tyl adds. 'in love with life; possible religiousness; "Thank God"; feeling at one with the way things should be'. Munkasey adds, 'social or political pressures; increased need to find a better way to spend your life' (and a better job?); 'expanded desires to enjoy a better future; improving your mental state but only by neglecting others'.

Well, there you have it, sort of a spot-check on Jupiter's 2021 stations and his path on into early 2022! Jan 20, 2015: The President's SOTU Address under Uranus-SN vibes

SOTU 2015 as the Tail of the Dragon (SN) Swipes Radical Uranus in Aries

Today (12.28.14) in Kabul, the official NATO-US combat mission in Afghanistan ended with an hour's ceremony to mark the 13-year war of tragedy and loss. And though such a ceremony makes for a good public relations image (propaganda) there are those of us who think of the 'ending' more as stagecraft meant to deceive than reality--Neptune rather than Saturn. Perhaps the Pentagon and the CIA have simply lied to the American public too often and fought too many secret wars to expect to be believed now.

Be that as it may, America's 'totem planet', Uranus, meets the Saturnian South Node (SN) of the Moon (aka, the 'tail of the dragon') on January 20, 2015, the same day that President Obama delivers the 2015 State of the Union Address to a Joint Session of Congress that evening. You'll find a few Astro-Notes on the pair's cosmic encounter here. And of course, their conjunction at a critical Cardinal degree (12) means that zealous anarchist Uranus will also be in Nodal Degree which adds to the karmic, fated reaping-what-was-sown quality of their problematic meeting.

Yes, the ongoing, dynamic, challenging Uranus-Pluto Cardinal Square of rebellion and generational clashes just keeps on giving, doesn't it? And now the Nodal axis of The Dragon joins in bringing with it an indication of public contact. Is separation from the public indicated for the president? How about the threatened time and money wasting impeachment efforts by the GOP?

Well, hopefully my frets are unfounded yet something tells me the US government's past behavior (SN) of secretly committing and then lying (Neptune) us into wars (Mars-Uranus with a huge dose of the US natal Mars-Neptune square of foggy deception and misguided motivation), betrayals, coups, government topplings, assassinations, and other underhanded mayhem will be part of the January 20th cosmic picture so it will be interesting to hear what the president includes in his remarks concerning wars in the Middle East (Saturn-Uranus), and in other regions of the world including Russia, China, and the proxy kingdom of North Korea.

Recent technology (Uranus) disruptions such as hacking may well be mentioned by POTUS in SOTU 2015 and it's certainly possible that a new internet attack or two will have been perpetrated by then. The Uranus-SN duo is a marker for wars and revolution along with changing, unsettling social conditions that can very well include financial loss. Perhaps the current Republican coup of Congress with its GOP agenda of drastic cuts to social safety net programs is indicated here with Uranus-SN imprinted upon the whole of 2015 and beyond. Will it be soup lines across America? Depopulation certainly will be the outcome of such politically based stinginess toward what Ayn Randers may term 'useless eaters'--as if all life isn't sacred!

Complicating things during SOTU 2015, we may find the president under a spiteful 'rudeness siege' imposed by the separatists of Congress during his speech though interrupting him with "You lie!" has lost its original sheen of Republican glory. Well, astrological Uranus does represent things new, novel, and original and sudden events are right up the electrical planet's alley. Even a bad storm or a power outage cannot be discounted for whenever Uranus is active, sudden, unexpected conditions often appear unannounced in a disruptive fashion. Transit Saturn, the practical container for the ideals of Uranus, has recently left Scorpio for a while so it will be quite a while (late 2016 and affecting the 2016 Election) before radical Uranus in fiery Aries and status quo Saturn in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius trine one another from within Fire the element of creativity and vision.

And on another level, the Uranus-SN planetary energies of January 20th may relate to an announcement by President Obama which will come as a big surprise or even a shock to his audience and will lead to some sort of upheaval. It's even possible that something involving Uranian people is on the Uranus-SN calendar for January 2015 and beyond--and one such example is the one and only Senator Elizabeth Warren born under a Sun-Uranus conjunction!

Name of CIA station chief in Afghanistan ham-fistedly outed

Some time ago I published a version of the CIA natal horoscope if you wish to view it. In July 2014, the CIA will be 67 years old and you'd think they'd be better at this secrets thing than to allow the name of their station head in Afghanistan to be on a list sent to the White House so that the pool of the president's advisers could be published.

Of course, the White House dropped the secrets anvil on its own foot with this one.

Now if we take the CIA's natal Sun-Moon personality blend to be Leo (Fire)/Scorpio (Water)--a group of proud, arrogant (Leo) spies and betrayers (Scorpio)--we find that this combo of energies produces a fanatical 'by hook or crook' determination toward success, the Machiavellian model. Phobias and cynicism abound in tandem with 'an inscrutable self-belief'. This blend's tendency to be upfront on the outside while hiding a labyrinth of secrets within is a perfect description of the agency.

Sun Leo-Moon Scorpio may sometimes undermine itself, usually via its darkly suspicious nature, or by over-extending itself. Interference from others is never appreciated to say the least and this 'outing' of the station chief's name must be excruciatingly embarrassing for them (unless it was done on purpose--perhaps by a rogue agent? just a thought!) For continuing their secret work in Afghanistan the outing is definitely a rain on their secrets parade if not a thunderstorm soaking into their imagined infallibility.

Oh What a Tangled Web We Weave: Awkward!

Yes, CIA imperiousness has received a pinprick, all right, but it isn't enough for the organization to deflate from its overblown influence in the world though many wish it would. Even the creature's creator, President Truman, expressed regret at what he had unleashed upon the world--after it was too late to rein in its illuminating, infiltrating presence. No doubt he was 'advised' on its creation.

My suspicion is that the agency's extremist qualities prevail and its not-a-good-loser personality is squirming a little but its mission and self-belief remain intact. Ever loyal to its own, it will be interesting to see if the one who made up the 'manifesto'--the list of names of the president's advisers on his weekend trip to Afghanistan--will be revealed though I don't expect that any proverbial 'heads will roll' for the mistake, do you? At least not in public--unless a show of improvement and accountability are deemed necessary for public relations purposes (or to save a little face for the White House where someone should have noticed the glare sooner.)

The CIA's imperious Sun Leo-Moon Scorpio blend is shared natally by Steve Martin ('King' Tut!), Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, and King Louis XVI. The blend has two 'Images for Integration' which may or may not to seem to apply to the CIA:

"The conception of a divine child takes place during a total eclipse of the Sun...A fateful, passionate love affair between the queen and a mysterious, wandering peasant."

Of course, the 'divine child' refers to Leo, and the first image makes me think of the CIA being more powerful than any president (they've certainly overthrown a few presidents and dictators, haven't they?) with the US president as 'the Sun' (America's cult of personality); the second image reminds me of collusion between monarchs and certain entities that pull strings across the globe..."mysterious" being the CIA and its reputed Jesuit connection to the Vatican and to money laundering via Big Banks and the Corporations protected by the CIA.

The 'fateful' quality reminds me of the natural law of karma--reaping what was sown--and this is a Higher Law that no organization, group, or person, no matter how powerful and controlling, will ultimately avoid: paying for past actions.

"Perhaps it's time to shut down $17 billion worth of money going for reconstruction projects, when our track record really stinks," Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) asserted on Thursday.

And if I'd found a visual of the June 30, 2011 hearing already posted in the
C-SPAN Video Library in case you missed appreciating Senator Claire McCaskill's justified performance on the subcommittee (one of many chaired by McCaskill on the topic of waste), the video would be added here but I may have tried too soon.

The formidable lady once again is not hearing the answers she wants and seems to be unimpressed with the unaccountability factor so rampant whenever Pentagon and private contractors toss in their lots with the US Department of Defense, the big-daddy bank roller in our messy Mesopotamian Occupations.

Among those called upon this week to testify as to who's in charge of our financial fiasco overseas, an Oath of Un-Accountability seems to have been taken yet perhaps McCaskill's pointed questioning will cause a majority of the American people to insist that Saturn's lessons of accountability and frugality be honored as August 28, 2011 nears. This date brings orbiting Saturn's return to sign and degree in America's natal chart of July 4, 1776 (14Lib48) and is under girding the current Debt Ceiling 'crisis' on Capitol Hill and the global financial results if the US defaults on her debts for the first time in our nation's history.

Can you imagine that the ones now driving the Washington jalopy of government want that little item of default to appear on their precious political resumes? They're total dolts, if they do.


Electric Uranus, the Brilliant Awakener

As you know, INDEPENDENCE and FREEDOM are words and concepts from the realm of planet Uranus, discovered by William Herschel in 1781 at a time betwixt the American and the French Revolutions, with US natal Uranus @ 8Gemini55 and ruled by Mercury.

(Q: can lower octave Mercury be said to 'rule' a sign of higher octave Uranus' placement? Hmm. Perhaps. As a pair, the combo of tech-savvy Mercury/Uranus = Thesis: business groups formed for purposes of initiating policies; labor coalitions or unions at work; modernization in transportation networks; Antithesis: riots, protests, strikes, or rebellions start due to ambitious goals that are ill-explained or undefined; reforms cause disruptions in transportation systems; use of propaganda in emergency situations. - M. Munkasey.)

Actually, I often think of Uranus as America's 'totem planet' or 'cosmic mascot' due in part to the centuries-long use of such slogans as the iconoclast and reformer inspires (exs: "Give me liberty, or give me death!" - Patrick Henry; our beloved 'freedom documents', etc.)

As in any horoscope, the sign of Uranus describes basic behavior, and we, as a nation and a populace, generally behave as if we're merely a bunch of youth-idolizing, never-grow-old, communicating, sometimes duplicitous, of-two-minds, quick-witted yet superficial Geminis, sign of the Jack of All Trades, and The Trickster. Meanwhile, our Saturn Return demands maturity!

Interestingly, transiting Hermes, aka, the trickster, magician, and alchemist, now sojourns beside traveler Uranus in early Aries! And Ebertin gives Uranus in Aries as, Utopians, which may well describe the sectarians who now force their slight-of-hand ideology upon congressional legislation on Capitol Hill in order to gum up the wheels of government. As you know, neocon Utopians want to drown all government (except for their own brand of anarchy) in a big'ole bath tub.

Uranus brings the chaos!

So this post is meant to be my Ode to Independence Day 2011 and I hope that if you've not yet witnessed or read Senator McCaskill's questions and remarks to certain contractors and others associated with construction projects in Afghanistan, you'll check it out with a sense of the true "Spirit of '76" as we may express it in 2011.

And I'm sending out a prayer for the future of our nation on this Fourth of July, a future without the throttling of life and the thievery of our treasury by the military industrial complex and their in-cahoots operatives and bankers, parasites as they be.

America's Scorpio Rising horoscope July 4, 1776 2:21 pm LMT Philadelphia, PA

As noted, this chart is useful as a natal horoscope for America (visit Michael O'Reilly's Neptune Cafe for more info - he champions this chart), or as a Spying Agencies horoscope timed by our first postmaster - aka, spymaster - Benjamin Franklin smiling enigmatically upon the US 100-dollar-bill as the Hour is shown upon the face of Independence Hall Clock, Philadelphia, just behind Old Ben, the Uranian genius.

As for the exact time for setting up a Scorpio Rising horoscope, I'd use 2:21, or 2:22, if you wish; however, adding up the digits, '6' was not, as far as I know, considered an auspicious number in the 18th century whereas '5' possesses different vibes all together, then as now. For '5' is in the quintile family of aspects - 72/144 degrees (talent.) The amiable Ben Franklin was an astrologer, Freemason, Rosicrucian, doctor, scientist, inventor, money printer, almanac publisher, and who knows what else, really.)

Plus, my point is that Dr. Franklin organized our early gaggle of scouts and spies into a more cohesive network of surveillance operatives. And my, how their web has grown.

No chart details are given today (for our holiday weekend is here!) But if you wish to read a few brief notes previously published concerning the US Scorpio Rising chart (the above image is shown there as well), then of course you freely may.

You'll find that the post focuses on the hidden square which appears in any version of the US natal chart you choose to use: 256 degrees between Uranus and Neptune, the enlightened ones. This aspect has an unconscious flavor which is why it's "hidden" so at first, some Americans may experience a 'that's not me!' or 'that's not us!" reaction. But if you will, let its implications and assertions sink in especially considering the dire circumstances our society is dealing with for Independence Day 2011 - and considering that it's the citizens of GREECE protesting Saturn's austerity cuts in the streets while we-the-people lounge next to our hamburger grills, freedom fries supposedly on our menus.

Yet it's only fair to say that for individuals and for nations, troubles are often self-created - especially when Congress continually neglects its oversight duties - what Senator McCaskill tries to improve upon - while leaders lie us into ill-advised wars begun with Jupiter the General retrograde, a sure signal of a war with a bottomless money pit, and no clear victor left standing.

Now either America is a government of-by-for The People, or she isn't.

The decision as to which one we'll have "going forward" has now plopped upon our national plate like a slice of birthday cake baked by the universal law of karma for everyone must reap what they sow. Even politicians and their chaos-mongering sponsors are not outside natural law as they grandly imagine themselves to be.

So in the Spirit of '76, I'll close with a paraphrase of what progressive broadcaster Thom Hartmann says at the end of each of his shows, and let that 'do':

Bio-weapons expert John Wheeler died of "blunt force trauma"

Turns out all those diverting 'he was disoriented' - 'maybe ill' offerings from talking heads about the mysterious death of bio-weapons expert John P. Wheeler, a former presidential aide and Pentagon man, were not factors directly involved in his murder.

But blunt force trauma was. Makes sense really because no matter how much 'toxicology' one may indulge in or how 'disoriented' one may be, it's difficult to stuff oneself while dead into a dumpster without a lot of help from the living.

Dumpsters are used to conceal one's deadly handiwork when the body in question - and the reason for the murder - are intended never to be discovered.

As you know, Phosgene is the bio-chem that Wheeler is said to have traveled to Washington DC to express his concerns over because Phosgene, which the US found in Iraq, was loaded in Arkansas onto a military plane to be sent to the battlefields of Afghanistan. Some of the deadly agent may have escaped causing Arkansas's dead birds to fall from the sky.

(It must be just as difficult to fly when dead as it is to stuff oneself into a dumpster under the same lack-of-life condition.)

There is a 3rd post on this blog concerning the mysterious death of Mr. Wheeler but the video it contained (showing his disoriented behavior hours before his death) has been removed from YouTube.

A dead-birds/John Wheeler murder connection? (video)

Is the chemical weapon phosgene the culprit in the 'dead birds falling from the sky' mystery? Well, it seems that the murder of Reagan-Bush-Bush aide John Wheeler, the chemical weapons expert whose body was found in a Delaware landfill on New Year's Eve afternoon, may have had a lot to do with the mysterious avian deaths (which are happening in places other than Arkansas, it turns out.)

Did Wheeler make it to Washington DC on December 28, 2010 in order to complain loudly about phosgene being sent to Afghanistan? If he did, he became "marked" and was dead a couple of days later...kind of like Dr. David Kelly's assassination for he was a weapons expert, too.

Eclipse chart has tr South Node 21Can07 rising: standing alone or separating oneself; outstanding in one's field. Or - facing more war without allies? Broken partnerships?

Some feisty factors in the Pentagon's natal chart include:

Warring Mars = Saturn/Pluto = Uranus/Pluto...

Sat/Pluto = Mars: brutality, assault, violence, ruthlessness; the necessity to fight for one's existence (ex: by recommending war escalation in 2009 after 8 years of it? - jc); activating plans for upheaval and destruction; using whatever means or power available in order to continue working.

Uran/Pluto = Mars: fanaticism; acts of violence; the mania of destruction; the stage of bending or breaking; injury or accident; headstrong and demanding when pushing ideas.

There is an important T-Square in the Pentagon's natal chart which forms an interesting view of the 5-pointed star's complex and its military industrialists...

Neptune/Mc = Mars: acting without clear understanding or purpose; desire to bring wrong ideas into realization; urge to harm others; metaphysical studies. (Ebertin.)

Michael Munkasey gives details about the combination of nebulous, idealistic dreamer Neptune when blended with Mc (Goals; Aspirations) which seem apt of late:

'Nept/Mc' = "dreams of being a leader in the "New Age"; hints about planning for the future originate within dreams and visions of the leadership; spies undermine national security; increased likelihood that leaders will allow others to deceive them about intentions and motives; official scandals of a very large scope.

Nep/Asc also affects Pluto 3Cap49 (Pluto here opposing US n Venus, then on to oppose US n Jupiter and Sun...'power plays' - 'no one is impressed' - 'material matters, values, principles, and priorities are in conflict with current circumstances' - 'aspirations should be reduced' - 'locked in power struggles' - 'economics unfavored.')

Following the natural cycle of US Secondary Progressed Full Moon (exact in Dec 2008 when based on the US n 'Sibly' chart) would be the sane idea than to contiune expanding in the world when a natural barrier (30-year-cycle of Sec Moon) has been reached; our power limits in the world are known, we should withdraw and regroup, oh war-loving Pentagon. There is no dishonor in 'regrouping forces to plan anew" as says the I Ching. But you must 'justify' your jobs with more imaginary - and real - threats to tilt at.

The full effects of tr Pluto opposing US natal Venus, Jupiter, and Sun in Cancer (2 - 14 Can) will not end until 2015/16 or so. Soon after, tr Pluto will move into orb of opposition with our Rx US n Mercury '25Can' -- as you see, our national Mercury will be opposed on Jan 15, 2010 by the Solar Eclipse in the 12 North Series - with all the mercurial implications that entails: communications, trade, commerce, transportations, plans, thinking processes -- and the 12N Ecl triggers our natal Mercury/Pluto opposition of propaganda and outrageous plans for power.

Btw: 'Nep/Asc' is considered a 'crooks and liars' midpoint by Reinhold Ebertin...

12N's Nep/Asc = Mercury: raising questions about others' motives and attitudes; discussions about one's visions' impact on lives; reading others in business situations; being guided by wrong impressions or perceptions; taking the wrong path; malicious scheming; deceiving oneself about other people's characters; exploiting the weakness of others.

12N's Nep/Asc = Pluto: harm or damage through deceit, libel, or malice from others; creating plans for evolving and selling schemes of power; using pressure to sell your ideas; not caring if facts presented are false as long as they properly serve your needs; underhanded transactions.

Sounds too familiar, no?

Jan 15, 2010: 12N's key concepts: opportunities to accept greater responsibilities and commitments come along suddenly due to another person's inability to carry on; events that herald these opportunities may be difficult but outcomes are good. (paraphrasing Brady's Predictive Astrology.)

In her book, Eclipses, Celeste Teal titles this Solar Eclipse as "Ceremony fit for a king' and says it portends for the US a ceremony of some kind involving a prominent person and puts a focus on national affairs (not another 'new president'! We already have one, thanks); 'power and vigor are fused; education and science benefit'; plus, 'neighboring nations are friendly.' Teal also says there may be a death of a wealthy person from within scientific, legal, or religious realms. Will this be the one who needs replacing?

United Nations:

The 12N Solar Ecl will oppose the *UN's natal Mars/Saturn conjunction in Cancer (23:59 - 24:45; tr Pluto now conj UN's n SN 3Cap05), an opposition that may trigger into action Mars/Saturn's usual stop-go energy and emphasize it, if not point out its weakenesses; police or military (Mars) control and authority(Saturn.)

Afghanistan:

Afghanistan's natal chart of  July 17, 1973 will be affected by the 12N Eclipse: its natal Sun 24Can06 conj n Ic 24:17 will be opposed by the Jan 15, 2010 Eclipse indicating conflict and weakenings brought by the US. As noted in a previous post, the July 21/22, 2009 Solar Eclipse precisely conjuncts Afhganistan's n Mercury 29Can42 Rx in n 4th house, so as astrologer Funkstar noted in Comments recently, that's two Solar Eclipses (in a row) triggering major points - n Sun and Mercury - in Afghanistan's chart.

Plus, transiting Saturn is conjoining Afghanistan's n Pluto 2Lib00 in n 6th house, but in off-and-on fashion, which describes a period when use of power and control are big issues, and situations are simply too large to handle - thus, collapse is possible. Given Saturn's ongoing transit to US n Mc 00Lib53 (Sibly chart), it's an easy read to see that America's Saturnian controls are to be applied to Afghanistan's power principle and perhaps to its secret manipulators (Pluto) - deep resources such as gas and its pipelines (Pluto) are to be forced under US control as well.

Pentagon's n Venus 23Pis03 (Pisces, sign of generals in war) is now being transited off and on by Uranus 23Pis32. Uranus-to-n-Venus is a time of partneership endings, joint venture stoppages, and new relationships forming. These new relationships, however, need other factors on which to depend for continuance. This transit brings unpredictable changes within partnerships, for better or worse; more independence is required. (See chart's SN rising, too.)

Unexpected or unusual alliances may be established (such as those the US needs for fighting more war? This sounds a lot like a Venus Transit or Occultation such as the one of June 2004 at the G-8 Summit on Sea Island, GA, near Jekyll Island where the Fed monster was frankensteined together in Dec 1913.) I mention it because Venus Transits are times when unexpected alliances are formed in secret.

Of concern come the first half of 2010 (as influenced by the Jan 15 Eclipse in Capricorn, sign of law, business, and politics) is that the Pentagon's 'dedication' Sun 24Cap42 (Sun @ Mc 1:17:45 pm EWT on Jan 15, 1943, Pentagon, Arlington, VA - chart not shown) will be eclipsed by the Jan 15, 2010 lunation.

Plus, the next Solar Eclipse of  July 11, 2010 @ 19Can24 in the 12 South Series will eclipse the Pentagon's 'dedication' Jupiter 19Can36 Rx, conj difficult Fixed Star Castor, which Anthony Louis gives as: 'crippling of limbs; murder; sudden fame or loss; mental illness.'  (Horary Astrology Plain & Simple.)

This is the same degree - 19Can - of the 11S, the current Series from July 21, 2009 @ 29Can27 (11S manifested @ '19Can' in 1991) Eclipse of July 11, 1991, when writer Danny Casolaro was murdered because his research came too close to the 'octopus' which is basically the world crime syndicate we now deal with and suffer from  - the one that participated in the crash of our financial system 2008 and the one that thrives on war-profiteering and collapsing nations that dare litter its path.

Obama escalates war ~ horoscope 12.1.09

Moon and Sun apply to opposition as mentioned below, a Full Moon 10Gem15; Sun then applies to a trine with Mars (7A39) and conjunction to Venus (9A49.) Trines are usually considered a positive help or talent, but can set one up for a ride on a slippery slope.

At 8 pm there's a Fire Grand Trine highlighted as you see and indicating an adventuresome, daring, and courageous nature. (Ideally for a planetary pattern, the Mc point should have a planet there. There is, however, a midpoint at Mc...Moon/Jupiter = Mc: recognition for ideas and work in expanding knowledge in foreign affairs.)

Plus, the Moon/Jup pairing of energies has an 'uncertainty, doubt, and vacillation team with expansion, advice and opinions' flavor. Moon symbolizes defensiveness and Jupiter increases that tendency; expounding on goals and ethics is indicated as well. (Munkasey.)

As you see, the current July 21, 2009 Solar Eclipse (11 South Series) is rising (ASC 29Can00, a crisis degree) with its flavor of 'systems fail; new ideas and methods are needed to deal with events brought by the eclipse; any blocks could be violently or tragically removed.' Now I know the president probably won't begin speaking at precisely 8:00 pm so chart-ruler Moon (the public; Cancer ASC) will soon morph into chart-ruler Sun (the leader) at 8:05 pm est, ASC 00Leo00. Either way, the president's first natal planet to rise is Mercury, planet of announcements, messages, oration, and thought processes.

The president's thinking and planning - nine meetings these last several weeks concerning war escalation, reports NPR - are described here and his n Mercury 2Leo20/Jupiter 00AQ52 Rx opposition (n Jupiter and Saturn 25Cap20 Rx in the karmic n 12th house of Self-Undoing) means that n Jupiter, planet of growth and expansion, sets in the TV address chart.

I have neglected to highlight Mr. Obama's n Jupiter/Saturn on the chart although his other natal positions are marked in turquoise. Some US n planets/points are marked in pink and US Inaugural Moon 2009 (29Sco45) is added because it conjoins Mr. Obama's n Mc along with transiting Venus 00Sag09 in 5th house of Risk-Taking and Gambling. Venus and tr asteroid Cupido (corporatism; The Family) are conjunct here @ '1 Sag' = the "A Grand Army of the Republic Campfire" Sabian Symbol.

Privatized war for profit, a favorite past time of the tiresomely imperialistic 'industrial military complex', is indicated by this corporate significator at this particular degree along with Venus, planet of values, relationships, and revenge when she's scorned. "A Grand Army" indeed - but misdirected energy ill-used, imho.

Messenger Mercury is in 5th house as well @ 24Sag32, a degree traversed by powerful Pluto in late 2004 and all through 2005 which ropes Obama firmly into the Bush-Cheney war pursuits. This is significant in Dec 2009 because the president is having to come up with new ideas and methods in an attempt to finish the objectives of the US Afghanistan adventure, or misadventure, depending on your viewpoint.

Considering that the Big Money 8th house of this announcement has Jupiter 21AQ04, Chiron 21:45, and oily, gaseous Neptune 23:54 posited within, I'd say that the control of the region's natural resources is still on the agenda of the US government - and the speculator pair, Jupiter/Neptune, are leading our expansion of grand schemes and risk-taking. Now this chart has ~Sun 176 degr 22 mins Moon~ which is a Gibbous phase just prior to a Full Moon @ 10Gem15:05 which perfects @ 2:30:24 am est on December 2. '10Gem' = "An Airplane Falling" or if you prefer to round up, '11Gem' = "A New Path of Realism in Experience."

Since any prior degree indicates karmic conditions for the next degree (such as the above-mentioned change of ASC degree for the Solar Eclipse), both symbols are pertinent in the wheel of life. And by 'karmic' this Saturnian astrologer means past behaviors and inherited conditions, not 'past lives' or reincarnation. Wars and an economically disabled country were passed down to Mr. Obama from you-know-who.

The first transiting midpoint to rise is Moon/Saturn (4Leo42, just passed Mr. Obama's n Mercury = prudence; maturity; the wise thought; sadness, esp among women - Tyl) indicates an astute awareness of ambition, strategy, and direction. A depressed (Saturn) populace (Moon) is indicated, too.

Since Dec 1 is the day of rebellious Uranus' Direct Station (as seen in this chart @ 22Pis42 in 9th house of Foreign Lands, @ 3:28 pm est West Point, NY), its disruptive and shocking effects are too much indicated for my comfort - the 'shock doctrines' theory of Naomi Klein comes readily to mind.

We may not want to look at the mdpt picture thus formed for with our national Neptune conj BHO's n Mars, it's not as if his actions (Mars) are clearly seen (Neptune) by the public, so let's have a peek on this momentous occasion, for cloudiness is a bad idea for the future of this war.

Tyl adds: energetically following one's personal dream; reaching for 'pie-in-the-sky' which is exactly most of what's bothering me about the whole war escalation.

Plus, tr Uranus opposing the president's natal Mars is a time when the physical urge to act is compelling, yet outcomes are unpredictable. It's been reported today that President Obama and his power elite backers realize that this prescription for war escalation won't be accepted by the American people unless an exit date or plan is touted as well.

Uranus opposite n Mars also indicates stress, strain, head injuries, fevers, and/or headaches - and hostile confrontations will not favor the president, and as our representative, the American people will negatively impacted by the escalation of this war. During his second term, Pres. Ronald Reagan, laboring under many difficult transits to the US natal chart in the late 80s-early 90s, declared March 21, 1989 to be "Afghanistan Day" - more than a little imperialistic and insensitive of him, I'd say.

America had done many things to undermine the Soviet Union while their troops occupied Afghanistan including the CIA working with Osama bin Laden and approving of his setting up al Qaeda.

So I took a peek at a chart for March 21, 1989, noon, Washington, DC and saw the trio of Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus (4 - 14 Cap) opposing America's natal planets in Cancer - difficult transits for US authority, aims, relationships, and values.

And since the pair of Saturn-Uranus, (fresh from their Great Conjunction/s of 1988 - Feb 13, June 26, and Oct 18 in the 27 - 30 Sagittarius range) represent, on one level, the Middle East (particularly Israel-Palestine), you may wish to know the midpoint picture formed by the trio marking the idealistically named, 'Afghanistan Day'...with Neptune signifying oil, gas, water, ideals, dreams, drugs including poppies, and the veils of deception (including self-deception)...

Saturn-Uranus = Neptune: a new vision fighting to be understood; feeling lost; the inability to face emotional stress; falsehood or malice caused through weakness; resigning oneself to the inevitable; abandoning resistance; weakening strength; separation; bereavement.

With the Sun in a national chart signifying the nation's leader, we may assume one situation described by these transits was Reagan's weakening health and mind - his sleepiness was harder to hide from the public than FDR's wheel chair had been.

Another midpoint picture from that day involves the pair of Jupiter and Uranus, whose synthesized energies represent optimism, lucky breaks, far-sightedness, organizers and inventors, among other things (Ebertin.)

Jupiter-Uranus = Mercury: gathering of ample knowledge (intell?); a fortunate turn in one's occupation; a person with an abundance of thoughts; planning on success; a series of fortunate breaks. (All midpoint pics from Tyl and Ebertin.)

And so we are reminded that Astrology describes the complexity of life as positive transits occur simultaneously with more negative ones. Planets retrograde (seem to move backward), then turn direct and 'hit' or contact our planets more than once which extends the length of time the transits affect us...more time to get things right, to understand, to work it out better 'this time.'

Now thuggish Pluto is making his weight felt in opposition to America's natal planets in Cancer (the same ones mentioned above in the 3 - 14 degree range) - Pluto in Capricorn, sign of authority and control - and we face difficult times once again with a president whose job it is to deal with it.

Venus, Jupiter, and Sun...luxuries and values, money, ego, the things America holds dear, are under siege. But as with personal charts we may remember the one factor that Astrology brings to the table, the element of Time.

And the wisdom to know that all good things - and bad things - must come to an end.

If Orwell was right (and I believe he was/is) then 'endless war' is the aim of certain movers and shakers and da*n the torpedos and the populace. Population control is a side effect they can easily live with.

The politics and politicians I whine...er...blog about constantly are only the political arm (or tentacles) of the monster, and like Hydra in the myth, the octopus' ugliness should be lifted into the light of day - into awareness - to interrupt its devouring of the good with the bad, the baby with the bath water, and innocent civilians with psychotic criminals who cynically and cruelly use them as political 'shields'.
