Putin Threatens Poland and the World

As most folks know, Ronald Reagan once described the Soviet Union in a 1983 speech as "the evil empire," a label which now, more than ever, conjures images of the Saturn-Pluto planetary pair. At least it does for most astrologers. A few details are available here: Ukraine Crisis, Putin, and Saturn-Pluto. We should note that 22/23Capricorn is considered a degree of governmental authority (N. DeVore) and is the spot in the Zodiac that the current Saturn-Pluto Cycle began on January 12, 2020 (@22:46) - conjunct Trump's natal Vertex of fated encounters.

Saturn-Pluto potentials include, but are not limited to:

Reactionaries; violent people (R. Ebertin); upsets in checks and balances; use of secret or military police; turmoil in older structures; secret preparation for future restrictions (Project 2025?); consideration of ways to remove or destroy (paraphrasing M. Munkasey's Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets #ad). Obviously, sinister motives are implied and bode ill for civilization, just as another world war would do.

Putin: World War III If US Sends Troops to Ukraine

Feeling his oats, Russian dictator, Putin, has made a not-so-veiled threat against Poland during his recent interview with his toady Mr. Carlson (and Effer's Sun-Taurus-Moon Taurus personality), so I'm sharing here the Poland--Democratic Horoscope found in Nicholas Campion's The Book of World Horoscopes (#ad) in case a reader might wish to check it out, or keep an eye on it, whatever. Plus, there are three other horoscopes for Poland in the book and their data is listed, below the chart:

Is AG Merrick Garland "spineless"?

Previously, we discussed the personality blend of AG Merrick Garland (Sun Scorpio-Moon Libra) but now that he's under attack more than ever for his handling of "the Trump trials," his appointment of over-stepper Robert Hur, and other legal matters, so a look at two particular Solar Eclipses would be informative regarding the cosmic energies affecting AG Garland's natal planets now and in 2024, and, by extension, affecting legal matters, Election 2024, and the Department of Justice in the US.

Above is a dual image of the two "Garland-adjacent" eclipses: one is the 7 South Eclipse of October 14, 2023 (lower left) with themes of 'crisis', or, 'a huge obstacle suddenly clears'--B. Brady) in effect as I type and operative until the Great American Eclipse of April 8, 2024--along with an Eclipse repeating in Garland's personal 8 South Solar Eclipse Series on October 2, 2024 @10Libra (upper right); 8S themes: 'loss, separation, sad partings; overstrain, possible physical injury' (B. Brady), and acting as the PE influencing Election 2024 and Inauguration 2025.

Yet without an accurate birth time for Merrick Garland, we can't be certain where 10Libra falls in his natal chart, but the point is, 8 South is his personal eclipse series so its themes are coming up for review in his life and gives him the opportunity to deal more successfully with events brought along by the eclipse. Of interest is that his Prenatal Eclipse ('PE') prior to his birth occurred @27Leo31 - conjunct royal Regulus back on August 20, 1952. Previously, an 8 South Eclipse manifested on August 21, 1933 @28Leo--conjunct Regulus. And this creates a cosmic time link from Garland's 1952 Eclipse through October 2, 2024, then back to the Nazi era - all three are 8 South Eclipses.

So last but not least, let's assess solar eclipse potentials when they manifest in the Venus-ruled Libra, sign of the Scales of Justice:

Positive expression includes issues of 'fair play, cooperation, impartiality, karmic relationships, and the promotion of world justice'. Negative expression includes: 'spinelessness; injustice, insincerity, and self-indulgence'. (paraphrasing R. Lineman, Eclipses).

So it's sad to say for democracy, but when it comes to having the courage to stop Fascism from taking over America, perhaps AG Garland's critics are spot-on.

SCOTUS Throws America Under the Bus

Lately I'm in a snit of miffdom and feeling fussy regarding our country's form of government under threat, in large part due to the recent anti-constitutional side-eyes from Supreme Court justices. Perhaps you're feeling fussy, too.

Now last year on SO'W we considered SCOTUS Decisions: Law and Domination, a post containing several links concerning today's topic.

This year, on February 8, 2024, Supreme Court justices heard oral arguments of great interest to our nation's future and which could be heard via C-SPAN, so listen I did. If you need it, the full audio is available here.

As you know, the questions from the justices, three liberals included, raised issues that lean on the side of Trumpian Fascism and its opportunity to take power again as the court threw the US Constitution's 14th Amendment Article 3 provision 'under the bus' along with its clear intention to disqualify insurrectionists (such as Jefferson Davis and his Confederate bros) from ever holding government office again.

But is Trump an "officer?," the justices plaintively opined. Well, he took the Oath of Office, didn't he? And then created chaos and division from within the Venusian Oval Office for four long years. Duh.

Disturbingly, the logic and necessity of adding such an Amendment to the Constitution in the years after the Civil War - until President Grant signed the Amnesty Act of 1872, eluded The Bench's braintrust, as they quibbled over semantics and failed to focus on the genuine issues at hand, so they were able to ignore the more pertinent considerations of the mess we're in. And so, SC justices punted which means that Trump seems likely to stay on the ballot in Colorado and elsewhere.

And this travesty, no matter how another term of Trump in the White House would tear our country apart while he finishes the job of destroying democracy.

Now one of the more disengenuous concerns was voiced by Justice Elena Kagan: that a single state shouldn't elect the president--which is exactly what Florida did in the 2000 Election when then-Chief-Justice Rhenquist tossed the presidency to George W. Bush by stopping the state's recount. Candidate Al Gore had millions more votes, but Dubya got the plum. And you know what misguided plans that led to.

February 8, 2024: notable midpoint picture potentials:

Sun = Saturn-Pluto: sparing no pains in one's work; renunciation; (Sun conjunct Cupido = spotlight on Corporatism, The Syndicate; The Family: intimidation? jc)

Saturn = Sun-Neptune: bad blood; emotional affliction; inhibitions via physical disability (or threats of it? - jc).

Pluto = Mercury-Mars: fanatic critics; sharp analysts; overzealous orators; suffering heavy assaults from others (if they don't tow the fascist line? - jc).

North Node = Jupiter-Neptune: swindlers and speculators; placing false hopes upon associations. (R. Ebertin). Nah! They all were probably swayed hard-right way before now. The "conservative" justices certainly were, as we know. No ethics to worry about there!

Then incidentally, legal eagle Saturn @7Pis19 on February 8th conjoined one of the Dark Moons (w'mat2) suggesting melancholy for some, secret agendas for others, Chiron in Aries sandwiched between Jupiter and Neptune which echoes the natal 2nd house trio of Herr Trump (Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter at RxS). But wait a minute: the Lunar Eclipse of March 25, 2024 @5Lib07 will land directly upon, and reveal secrets and deceptions concerning, the wanna-be dictator's natal Neptune in his 2nd house of possessions, earning ability, and values. This could be good.

So now, here's an excerpt from a previous post concerning Neptune's transit to the SCOTUS Saturn, karmic planet of law, legal systems, judges, and government:

"Other possibilities with Neptune-to-Saturn include contagion (Neptune) affecting judges or other court officials (Saturn) to a hobbling degree, there may be loss although it's impossible to say from what cause (it may be mysterious!), and/or there may be some combination of inspired ideals and misguided notions being argued during proceedings. Naturally, other court circuits may be affected as well (Saturn) with substandard judges attempting to adjudicate in positions they should not have taken due to inexperience, ill-preparedness, lack of education, and/or odd or strange ideas. Then speaking of the dreary potentials of a second Trump term a la 2025, see: The Eclipse of the GOP's 'Project 2025'. How any voter in 2024 could possibly consider the draconian plan of the GOP worth voting for in November is beyond me. It must be because of their vain assumption that the suffering will be brought upon their fellow Americans, the ones that they themselves hate, while Trump and comrades will protect their loved ones - which means Trump voters will be balancing upon the very pentacle of gullibility with many harsh lessons to learn.

Modern Humanity's Feb 2024 Mars Return

Today a post to show this evening's Mars Return to the Modern Humanity Horoscope which is based on the third of three Great Neptune-Pluto Conjunctions @7Gem41/42. The Neptune-Pluto Cycle is of such duration, 492/3 years, that their Conjunction is *it* for you and me, dear reader.

Mars exalted in Saturn-ruled Capricorn indicates potentials for 'a sense of reality, sober deliberations, efficient use and direction of energy, the will to succeed, independence, and working zeal, but also for 'over-estimation of self, defiance, egoism, and obstinacy' (R. Ebertin).

Transit Pluto conjunct Mars suggests a period of increased stamina and determination for some folks, but can also denote intense competition, aggression, anger, secrecy, use of force and persuasion, and/or acts of revenge. This is a highly karmic transit and also points toward weapons of war and war itself.

And so a new cycle of activity begins this evening via Modern Humanity's Mars and its Sabian Symbol for 27 Capricorn: "A Mountain Pilgrimage," quite the esoteric hint if we consider the mountain/pyramid images on the dollar bill and on America's Great Seal. In closing, there's an important consideration which suggests a cosmic time link between today's events and actors, and the Robber Baron generation of the 1890s:

Neptune Conjunct Pluto 3 times: 1. August 2, 1891 @8Gem38; 2. November 5 1891 @8Gem19; 3. April 30, 1892 @7Gem42 (the above horoscope) with the Neptune-Pluto duo representing Underworld Crime Syndicates, often known as organized crime and mobsterism. My suspicion is that their 1891/92 conjunctions in early Gemini landing upon US 1776 Uranus spotlights today's crop of zealots, rebels, secessionists, and anarchists of the Maga persuasion - scofflaws who break laws with abandon and resent any attempts to hold them accountable.

A Villain in History: Jefferson Davis

Known historically as a villain to many, yet a hero to others, the natal horoscope of Jefferson Davis, former president of The Confederacy (noon horoscope shown), played multiple roles during his lifetime including military leader, congressman, prisoner of war, secessionist from the Union.

Born in Fairview, Kentucky on June 3, 1808 with Sun in mid-Gemini, and Moon in either Virgo or Libra, no definite birth hour is known for Davis, although Penfield has speculated 6:30 am LMT with the tribal sign of Cancer rising and his Jupiter-Pluto Conjunction in Pisces at Midheaven, with Pisces a military sign. 6:30 am is the timing I've chosen to calculate the natal horoscope of Jefferson Davis, shown below.

A Personality Blend Spot-Check for Mr. Davis

Having no known hour of birth for Jefferson Davis, there are two positions of the Moon to consider. On his day of birth, the Sun ranged from 12Gem24 to 13Gem21, while Luna ranged from 28Vir27 to 12Lib47.

An Air-Earth Sun Gemini-Moon Virgo blend of practical idealism suggests 'divine discontent, nervousness, and intellectual aspirations'. The blend's prominent "Image for Integration: Gaugin's Arearea." Meanwhile, a double Air Sun Gemini-Moon Libra blend suggests a fellow of spontaneity, tact, diplomacy, restlessness, and legal and/or political work. Independence as a birthright is a feature of double Air personalities. This blend's prominent "Image for Integration: A shuttle diplomat brings together warring factions." Jefferson Davis: 1808--1889

Helpfully, history has recorded the date and hour of Davis' passing so his "death chart" surrounds his natal horoscope in the bi-wheel configuration, as you can see, below, in both marked and unmarked form.

For such a controversial historical figure, naturally there are many books written and video presentations available concerning the life and times of Jefferson Davis, and if you have an hour or so to spare, I recommend one by The People Profiles channel Jefferson Davis - The Civil War and The Confederate States of America.

Bi-Wheel Jefferson F. Davis natal horoscope set for 6:30 am LMT (inner) and his Death Horoscope of December 6, 1889 12:45 am New Orleans, Louisiana (outer); as you see, an emphasis on Air sign Gemini is apparent with his death caused by "bronchitis complicated by malaria" which adds a Mars-Neptune signature of epidemics, infections, and undermined vitality; other biological correspondences (R. Ebertin) are penned on the chart, and Jupiter in Capricorn is Angular within his 6:30 am chart, a common feature at times of death. Also significant to the speculative 6:30 am natal chart is that Davis' "Death PE" (18 North Solar Eclipse @6Can47) manifested upon the 7 Cancer Ascendant with potentials for "illness; overtaxing of strength, and/or obsessive thinking" (B. Brady).

Neptune Returns to its Civil War Degree

Today I'm studying several topics of interest concerning the United States of America so this post is merely to display for the interested reader the Horoscopes of the Civil War and the three times that Neptune Returns to its 1861 degree of 29Pis56:55.

This indicates that similar delusions, schemes, and fears abound within society once again and are prominent as we've seen with slavery issues (ex: Nikki Haley's mealy-mouthed non-answer to what caused the Civil War), and other related topics from the 1860s and subsequently (exs: the Reconstruction Era, and whether or not an insurrectionist can act as US President--understandably, Confederate president Jefferson Davis was prevented from ever holding public office again). The fact that maga Republicans, suffering from secessionist fever, frequently call for a second Civil War every chance they get must also be part of the Neptunian picture as Republicans work to undermine American democracy and collapse the federal government.

Using solar eclipses to suss out cosmic time links between events, conditions, and people the 7 North Eclipse Series is not only the series in which the Civil War began, it's also the Series of the Fascism Rising Eclipse of 1933 @5Pisces, the Prenatal Eclipse Series of Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, and of the very first session in 1789 of the US Congress - all were begun under the auspices of a 7 North Eclipse. In our day, 7 North repeated on April 20, 2023 @30Aries conjunct the J6 Mars position: violent insurrection.

So as you see below in the April 12, 1861 "first shot" horoscope of the conflagration (in dual image one: lower left), Neptune, planet of deception, fraud, fantasy, dreams, speculation, secrets, theft, and loss, was a prominent influence upon the War and in the chart, while mystical Pisces adds to the shadiness, confusion, and chaos of conditions. Paired with the first shot chart is the first of three returns of Neptune (upper right) to its 1861 position. Star of misfortune, Scheat @27Pisces, rises in the April 12, 1861 chart and nowadays is joined by transit Neptune.

Meanwhile, the years 2025 and 2026 mark the first time period that transit Neptune reaches its 1861 War degree, and as you know, all 29th degrees of each sign represent critical-crisis conditions, here @29Pisces - and just prior to transit Neptune entering Mars-ruled Aries once it passes the Cardinal Aries Point of global manifestation. Add difficult star Scheat to the mix and a pivotal crisis is in humanity's forecast:

Then the second image of dual charts, above, shows the second (lower left) and third (final; upper right) Neptune Return to the Civil War Horoscope. (The charts are sketchily notated because I ran out of time but curious readers can fill in what's missing if need be.)

A prominent notation penned underneath the third return chart of January 24, 2026 is the Saturn-Neptune Conjunction of February 20, 2026 @00Ari45, their first conjunction since 1989, with their combined energies spotlighting societal issues and health concerns, plus, governmental matters such as socialism, a wider struggle between materialism vs idealism, and/or a potential for the 'capitulation of a leader' (M. Munkasey).

Astrology of an Orange Albatross vs the World's Favorite Pop Star!

Comparisons are being made between the popularity of America's orange albatross and the world's favorite pop star, and way before now you've probably checked out the Wikipedia bio page of this post's mystery pop star referenced in the bi-wheel of horoscopes shown below. Inner is the orange albatross' natal horoscope (RR: AA) surrounded by that of the "mystery" pop star.

Did I mention that she's the world's favorite and most successful international pop star, and a generous romantic? And there's her natal Sun conjunct his natal Moon-SN opposing his natal Sun-NN! Is fate involved? Well, the Nodal Axis might agree as her very shiny Sun casts a bright spotlight upon the problematic, off-on 'popularity' of the controversial fellow's Moon-South-Node conjunction. And we know of his history of feeling threatened by powerful women, don't we? He's ordered the entire Republican party and GOP media shills to lash out at her because thousands of her fans have registered to vote! And when Americans vote in droves, Republicans lose.

Perhaps Astrology Might Contribute to the Convo!

Meanwhile, there exists more than one version of the global pop star's natal horoscope, and a noon chart may be viewed at astro.com. Yet in my files are two possible natal horoscopes for her (5:17 am and 8:36 am est) so a choice had to be made in order to set up the bi-wheel of charts you see below.

Therefore, based on the nearness of her Cancer Moon to the 00Can00:00 World Point of Fame, Recognition, and Fortune at 5:17 am on December 13, 1989, I'm choosing the Scorpio Ascendant chart with Mars rising and a hidden 12th house Pluto (as he has), the planet of power and control. There are other reasons to use the 5:17 am chart as well. Interestingly, this birth time gives the world's favorite pop star a Mars rising chart that echoes that of the orange albatross, and with all the natural energy such a natal planetary placement provides. However, I do encourage you to try other versions of the pop star's natal chart if you wish. Yet even though her birth date is accurate but not the hour, there'll be few if any differences in their synastry grid shown below the bi-wheel: the grid shows a variety of conflicts between them - some personal, some generational (43 years between them--note to albatross: she'll never date you!):

A lunar similarity exists:

Moon inconjunct Saturn of the old guy suggests one who struggles to portray emotional maturity and is desperate to be recognized as possessing it; his judgmental, critical nature tends to look disparagingly at others while he clings grudgingly to the past.

Moon inconjunct Venus of the pop star suggests creative talent in music and art, plus, tendencies toward opinionation, a knack for intuiting public trends, and an innate ability to put other people at ease.
