August 2023 Horoscope: Uranus turns Rx

On display in today's post are two DC Horoscopes:

First, the August 28, 2023 Uranus Station @23Tau04, then a view of the 7 South Solar Eclipse of October 14, 2023 @21Lib07 with its angry, powerful 'Mars-Pluto square' influences issuing from 7 South's initial manifestation of June 22, 1248 @8Can03. This is the position of Trump's natal Mercury (spotlighting his irrationality), and you'll notice that 8Can01 also happens to be the position of Astraea ('justice') in the 6th house of the October 2023 Eclipse Horoscope.

So by this and other chart factors we know that the planets in both horoscopes, set for Washington DC, relate to current events in the US, events and conditions that include disruptive Uranus and its association with fanatics, anarchists, rebels, and radical politicians, along with the Midterms 2022 Lunar Eclipse @16Taurus conjunct Uranus with its 'swords vs torches' symbolism which points toward the maga politicians who just barely managed to take over the House of Representatives. Also implicated by rebellious Uranus are the GOP's racist followers, seditionists, and comrades-in-arms.

Then prominent in the Eclipse chart, you'll see the implications of Pluto square the Eclipse (which is also US 1776 Pluto squaring the lunation), and Uranus inconjunct the Eclipse with its radical vibes of disruption, assault, and shock ability.

The Very 1st Great American Eclipse

Previously we discussed the 3 Great American Eclipses and below is a DC Horoscope of the very first Great American Eclipse of July 29, 1878. Falling within the 6 South Saros Series, a consideration may be timely because a Solar Eclipse repeats in the 6 South Series on October 25, 2022 @2Scorpio conjunct Venus in Scorpio which adds a potential for materialism. You'll find the 6 South themes that society must again deal with listed below; and, karmic as it all is, hopefully society will manage the arrogant Leonine energies in a more positive manner this time around as we view the October 2022 eclipse through the lens of 6 South's initial eclipse sign of hazy, if compassionate, Pisces - one end of the victim-savior polarity.

1878 Eclipse @6Leo33 conjunct US North Node of Future Direction: "The Constellations in the Sky"

We should note that the 1878 Eclipse Path of Totality was about 118 miles wide and raced across the Rocky Mountains, the Wyoming Territory (Thomas Edison was there which attracted quite a bit of publicity for the cosmic event), but its path began in Russia.

Rhyming Witch Hunts, Illness, Elections Then and Now

How about a little context? In 1878 after a contentious election tossed to Congress to decide the victor (a 2020 result Trump would have accepted), Rutherford B. Hayes was installed as president and the 45th Congress was sitting upon Capitol Hill. See The Electoral Commission of 1877 for details.

Now among US Events of 1878 are a yellow fever outbreak that killed thousands of people (Aesculapia conjunct contagious Neptune in the 1878 horoscope), and - get this - the last of the Salem Witch Trials in the US was held.

Known as the 1878 Salem (or, Ipswich) Trial, the victim was Daniel H. Spofford, accused of using "mesmerism" on Lucretia Brown, a 50-yo spinster (see the IC's Sabian Symbol!) living in Ipswich, Massachusetts; the proceeding was held on May 14, 1878. Now these folks were early Christian Scientists, adherents of Mary Baker Eddy, who made "mind control" and mental powers such as hypnosis (mesmerism) a topic in her speeches for the rest of her life. Controversy remains as to whether Baker Eddy was actually behind the civil lawsuit against Spofford, yet some say it was only Miss Brown (the aggrieved), but if we go by the Sabian Symbol of the IC, or, Foundation, the HOW? Point in the 1878 eclipse horoscope, we might guess that it was not one but two ladies involved! And prim ones at that.

Of course, these days we're dealing with hyper-Christians and puritanical theocrats who pervert "what Jesus would do" and spout what they imagine to be "noble lies." A form of mass mesmerism is suggested.

Then in recent years we've had multiple mentions of witches for it's a favorite accusation from Trump - that he's target of a "witch hunt," a pitiful ploy for sympathy. He said it again just recently because of the August 8, 2022 FBI search of Mar-a-Lago for stolen White House documents, classified and nuclear related, as it turns out (Venus-Pluto). But the witch wasn't home that morning. He was in NYC at a deposition for which he pleaded the fifth 440 times! For that's what guilty mobsters do because answering truthfully admits to committing crimes.

As for current day mesmerism, for years listening to Trump's disjointed rhetoric I've wondered if the orange blighter uses some kind of mind control technique to convince his audiences of what should by all that's rational be absurdly bizarre claptrap unsuitable for any ear but the most gullible. He's definitely a demagogue "telling them what they want to hear using the power of 'positive' lying" kind of propagandist. And after all, his natal Mercury in Cancer reveals what's on his mind and tongue, collecting gossip being one of his special talents (which goes well with blackmailing activities). "Serious indiscretions" are also indicated - and which are now under scrutiny with the distinct possibility that Herr T "shared" (sold) America's secrets to the highest bidder. Mar-a-Lago surveillance tapes should tell this tale about this lucrative money-making scheme since leaving the White House. My guess is that he had already sold secrets while in the Oval Office. Tragically, this is what happens when a foreign agent is allowed to occupy the US presidency.

So who in Washington DC didn't know what he was and couldn't see our current predicament coming from miles away? Well, maybe now America's Espionage Act will come in handy.

Anyway, I thought a view of the very first Great American Eclipse might interest a few readers, and I added the Sabian Symbols for the chart's Angles, plus, a few other astro-notes for the ultra-curious. Through the years we might say that 6 South eclipses are Pisces-Leo-Virgo-Scorpio affairs with planetary influences proceeding through Jupiter-Neptune-Sun-Mercury - and now we're at a Mars-Pluto stage of manic energy.

6 South's Mars-Pluto and Venus-Pluto Vibes: Violent Fanaticism

Now for 6 South themes that many of us are feeling already. Their thematic influences will grow stronger beginning for up to two weeks prior to the October 25, 2022 Solar Eclipse (appr. Oct 11th+) and have also influenced historic events when a 6 South eclipse manifested on August 31, 1932 (Total then, too) as what I unhappily term the Nazis Rise to Power Eclipse with its possessive Venus-Pluto conjunction in Cancer. Financial concerns are suggested then and now along with fanaticism and jealousy.

Plus, here's a view of the October 25, 2022 Solar Eclipse with emphasis on the forceful, often brutal, weapon-carrying duo of Mars-Pluto which were in opposition at the initial 6 South Eclipse (March 6, 1049) but the pair, with Mars out-of-bounds and acting independently, will be inconjunct at the next manifestation of 6 South in October 2022 and - pass it on - this indicates that beneficial adjustments can be made. In fact, it's time for them. So hopefully, the DOJ's and other investigations into Trump's suspicious activities will result in improvements for America and the common good.

Then on a bizarre, morbid level (where the Mango Mussolini exists), a few political pundits are even wondering what secrets Trump might have buried on his golf course with Ivana! If she was cremated as reported, why is her gravesite coffin-shaped?

Themes of 6 South: "being forceful and taking power; manic energy with great force or strength in relationships; sudden events; exerting huge efforts in group endeavors" (Predictive Astrology, B. Brady #ad).

To me this means that rational Americans who prefer democracy, the US Constitution, the rule of law, and America's traditional Enlightenment principles, absolutely must make huge efforts in order to counter the global fascist/neo-nazi mania, therefore, We The People must have no less than a Blue Tsunami turn-out in November and again in November 2024!

DC Horoscopes: July-August 2020 Lunations

July 13, 2020: Just a quick posting of the New and Full Moon DC Horoscopes for July 20 (28Can26 opposite US Pluto - and July 20 is the 3rd of 3 Mercury Returns for Trump to 8Can51), August 3 (11AQ45; prominent is the Mercury-Saturn opposition which suggests not wanting to hear what's being communicated and dissenting opinions), and August 18, 2020. Study notes are penned on the charts if you care to read them. We should mention that the natal Mars of Uranian Donald Trump will be activated on August 18th by a New Moon @26Leo35 - and New Moons can disrupt in similar Uranian fashion to Solar Eclipses:

Image below: As you see, Mercury the Messenger accompanies the August 18th New Moon and, if you're familiar with the natal horoscope of Trump, you know that Mercury @28Leo07 closely approaches his natal Ascendant which to me suggests the usual - that what he thinks and says is 'on the line' and/or open to scrutiny. Of course, with his natal Mars in egotistical, pompous Leo nearby, his actions are implicated as well, while the dark of a New Moon suggests secrets, scandals, sneaky activities, but also possible revelations and leaks. (Mary Trump's book is released tomorrow as I type so more info from her account of the dysfunctional Trump family seems a given.)

As you see, on August 18th, chart-ruler Venus applies only once - to oppose Jupiter - two money planets at odds, it seems. See lower left for my notes which include 'justice is self-serving', something we already know about Trump and 'his' DOJ, don't we? In fact, the August 3rd chart shows asteroid Astraea ('Justice') opposing deceptive planet of fraud and corruption, Neptune in sneaky, infectious Pisces! And though I neglected to pen it on the August 18th chart, Astraea by then will be at a critical-crisis 29th degree but still in analytical Virgo. In a day or two Astraea will reach 00Libra and in the founding horoscope I most often use for America, Astraea will conjunct the Midheaven ('MC'), The Goal Point of any chart - and that's Venus-ruled Libra, sign of the Scales of Justice!

Additionally, it may be significant that the July 20th New Moon @28Can26 points toward a symbolic cosmic event on August 20, 2020: The Progressed Full Moon of the DOJ! Of course, DOJ's SP Full Moon also opposes US natal Pluto in Capricorn so we know that titanic power struggles continue within and against our corrupted Justice System. My suspicion has been that financial pilfering is a part of fraudulent DOJ activities along with foreign raids on the US Treasury. And that's not even counting Congress and shady, dishonest corporate CEOs and Ivanka!

So the July and August 2020 Lunations reveal an America continuing to struggle against the winds of change while quarreling with ourselves and each other. Meanwhile, the transit of restrictive Saturn to US natal Pluto (Saturn Rx backed into Capricorn again) extends a period of power struggles and control issues when situations are simply too large to handle for now and re$ources are depleted (some stolen, some put to good use). Mature, authentic leadership would help immensely - see 'apex Saturn' notes on the August 18, 2020 chart, upper center, but we're having to wait a while longer for what may hopefully be a change of administrations that will bring in a Cabinet of folks who actually know how to govern; otherwise, we'll have to settle for the violent melee and mobsterism that Trump and his comrades are determined to continue forcing upon the American people as they attempt to keep him in office.

And with warrior-activist Mars strong in fiery Aries in the 6th house of Military, Police, and Civil Service in both the July 20th and August 3rd charts, it appears that We The People may need to depend upon military action to eject the blighter from the White House if our dream of a massive Blue Wave washing him out to sea comes to pass in November. Because with sociopath Trump backed by a criminal syndicate of global thugs, a simple loss at the ballot box on November 3rd could never be enough for him to take the hint and make like a leaf.

As you know, the month of July 2020 began with the 'cosmic blink' of a wild card eclipse: Capricorn Lunar Eclipse on July 5th opposing US natal Sun (POTUS) but is not listed, above, since it appears in a previous post.

Horoscopes: Donald Trump with Ghislaine Arrested

July 2, 2020: As you've heard, this morning at 8:30 am edt in Bradford, New Hampshire, Ghislaine Maxwell, culpable associate of the late Jeffrey Epstein, was arrested by the FBI. A myriad of questions about whether she'll "spill the beans" and "name names" of the rich and powerful who were customers of their sex trafficking enterprise are top of the list along with wonderings about those already known to have been involved in some way such as Donald Trump partying with Epstein during Trump's NY playboy days (you've seen video clips) prior to what Trump has described as their "falling out". This type of trafficking is a branch of the global crime syndicate that now operates out of Washington DC with you-know-who acting as figurehead.

So below is a bi-wheel of Trump's natal horoscope (center) - not with Ghislaine Maxwell's natal chart surrounding it (although some of her natal placements are penned around the outside: see her natal Gemini ASC in 10th house = peep-eye!). But with the horoscope of her arrest today, reported as "8:30 am edt", as noted, above:

So was Trump more involved with the Epstein-Maxwell enterprise than he now admits? Well, looking at his chart with the 'arrest' transits, you see his 12th house (hidden, secretive) Mars and Pluto in sexy Leo with their midpoint conjunct not only today's 'arrest' Ascendant (18Leo53) but both also conjunct Maxwell's natal North Node (18Leo44) of public and other contacts. My notes on these midpoint pictures are penned in the center of the chart where her indication of 'close ties to the rich and powerful' describes Trump via his sexy Mars-Pluto midpoint. Not a conclusive factor, of course, and it needs support from elsewhere in the charts, but there it is.

Another curious synchronicity is that Trump's second of three Mercury Returns (8Can51) perfected this very day and dates are listed, upper left, and highlighted in green. Amazingly, Trump's natal Mercury, planet of young people, precisely opposes Maxwell's natal Mercury (8Cap51) to the minute. At the top is the rounded-up Sabian Symbol for Trump's natal Mercury - "9 Cancer" = "A Tiny Nude Miss Reaches Into the Water for a Fish" - and I don't care to think about what this may imply in relation to such criminal activities against children. However, one of Trump's favorite words comes to mind: disgusting.

Also of interest is that in his Mercury Return chart for July 2, 2020 there appears a YOD pattern of crisis (also a health indicator), aka, a Finger of God pattern. It points toward the Moon - this morning @6Sag34 and rounding up to '7 Sag' we have "Cupid Knocking at the Door." Does this symbol refer to Maxwell's arrest (his crisis) and/or SDNY prosecutor Audrey Strauss who, in a sense, knocked at Ghislaine's door this morning about Cupid-related issues? Is Audrey Strauss still employed and for how long?

Also penned on are the three-fer dates of Maxwell's current Saturn Return/s and considering Saturn's realm of legal affairs and the law, I'd say she's having a demanding Saturn Return wouldn't you?

So if you need the natal data (RR; AA) of Ghislaine Maxwell it's penned on the chart, lower right, and highlighted in a magenta-pinkish color, plus, there's a link to her chart, above. Her Earth-Fire Sun Capricorn-Moon Leo personality blend tends toward social climbing, snobbishness, a dictatorial demeanor, and self-centeredness but I suppose this can be no surprise. And now that she's been taken into custody and release on bond is questionable due to flight risk, perhaps the 'Image for Integration' for Cap-Leo that most closely applies is,

"After a lone, silent climb up your mountain you greet the spotlights and television cameras with flair and aplomb." Somehow, I know she will.

Trump's Summer 2020: Mercury Rinse and Repeat

Mercury: the Trader, Traitor, Salesman, and Trickster Awaiting at the Crossroads

When it comes to transactional planet Mercury in the natal horoscope of Donald Trump, a few first things to know include its sign: Moon-ruled Cancer, and house: 11th of Groups, Associations, Hopes and Wishes. (Perhaps a review of Trump's natal Mercury is in order. It's pretty skanky so beware.) The next consideration is any aspects made to or from Mercury, what I call the 'tofu planet' because astrologically speaking, Mercury absorbs flavors or vibes of any planet it contacts. Versatile, adaptable, and changeable!

Now in Trump's case, this is his problematic Mercury-Neptune square from 11th to 2nd house. From this we find that Trump's yearly Mercury Returns repeat and emphasize the square to natal Neptune each year which denotes a period when errors, woolgathering, indiscretion, and deception come forward and the mind can play tricks (self-delusion) while fantasies take over his thoughts, communications, and plans. Needless to say, his usual tendencies toward these, plus, his misperceptions, exaggerations (boasting), and sneaky schemes will be spotlighted in June and July although I'd have a difficult time telling you when they aren't on distressing display, much to the disappointment of a majority of the American people (and the rest of the world).

Another consideration of his Mercury is which planets and houses (departments of life) Mercury disposits or rules in his radix chart. This would be his 2nd hou$e (cusp 22Vir57 conjunct US natal Neptune which squares our natal Mars) and his 11th house (cusp 29Gem18, a critical-crisis 29th degree - where transit North Node now points as it enters his 10th house of Career and Public Status). So we see that Mercury Returns for Trump always affect his 2nd and 11th houses in particular. (We also see that the speculator-fraudster pair, bubbly Jupiter and Neptune, are posited in his 2nd hou$e with his wounded/wounding Chiron snugged between them but that's beyond the scope of this Mercurial post.)

So now the question is: does Mercury rule any of Trump's natal planets?

Why yes, glad you asked! For as you know, Trump's Sun (adult personality; essence) is in Gemini, sign of the eternal child, as are his guiding planet Uranus, and North Node. As you know, his 10th house trio is always on display for the whole world to see and links him to radical reforms and political activity. Erratic Uranus, planet of chaos, shock, and disruption, is his 'guiding planet' because it is last to rise before his Sun, as we've discussed in prior posts. And of course, Gemini and technology planet Uranus relate to his constant use of Twitter to send his messages directly to a wider public (10th house)- but with plenty of misinformation, fibs, exaggerations, insults, and propaganda therein (duplicitous Gemini, ruled by trickster Mercury!).

Now with this particular Mercury Return 2020, Trump is experiencing an extended Mercurial period due to transit Mercury's retrogradation ('Rx'). Exact dates that Mercury returns to 8Can51 are June 5th (already occurred a few hours prior to the Lunar Eclipse @15Sag34), July 2 (Rx), and July 20th which brings him a transit Mars-square-natal Mercury contact that suggests potentials for frustration, anger, quarrels (especially with males), aggression, giving or receiving incorrect information or directions, and obstacles that may be encountered during travel including bad weather. On July 20th, Return Mercury is in Return 6th house and the possibility of faulty wiring could turn up which can relate to equipment or to the brain (I'm not wishing just reporting!), plus, abundant energy will be available so that ideas can be put into action, or new work methods or techniques may be implemented. Obviously, 6th house matters are spotlighted and on his mind including health, daily rounds, military, police, and/or civil service.

So to summarize what I'm subtly suggesting here, 'Mercury at the Crossroads' - the Return period which is more or less a 'new start' for Mercury The Fool - could have been sparked by Trump's recent disappointing, ego-deflating rally turnout in Tulsa, OK, with the idea that perhaps the time has arrived for his Mercurial mind take a look at itself and think about upping its game of persuasion and strategy. Maybe find new topics for his speeches because his old ones are mighty stale - and the November 2020 Election approaches stealthily on cat's paws. Not that he's self-reflective enough to do this but it is time. No, I'm not counting the coronavirus in this post nor am I focused on other planetary considerations - even his emotional, unconsciously driven Moon-SN is left out today. The only star of this post is his little Mercury, planet of speeches and voters, thought patterns, tweets, transactions, cheating, theft, and falsehoods.

So if by chance a turning point in Trump's behavior or in his campaign for 're-election' has been reached, it may be Trump's Mercury we'll have to thank. Or, more than likely given his record, to blame.

Summer 2020: An Extended Mercury Return Period for Donald Trump

In a recent SO'W post concerning the 2020 Solar Return Horoscope of Donald Trump you'll find a dual chart image of his 2020 Solar Return chart, plus, his natal horoscope sporting Mercury @8Can51 in 11th house of Groups, Associations, Hopes, and Wishes. The usual descriptions of natal Mercury in Moon-ruled Cancer tend to sound much more domestic and harmonious than this fellow with his continual school yard insults toward others, vengeful maliciousness, thieving nature, and his fantasies, lies, exaggeration, indiscretion, plus, a good memory (appearing as a bad memory - or have his advanced years have taken their toll?). Now as you know, much of his problematic Mercurial traits are thanks to thinking Mercury (the Messenger) square cloudy Neptune, and for Trump, all his Mercury Returns re-square confused, secretive Neptune's natal position! He thinks he's responding to people and events based on logic when it's really emotions leading his thoughts and thus communications and actions. Of course, anger, bad temper, and impulsiveness play major parts in his communication 'style' but that's more a function of his rising Mars, the me-first planet, in egotistical Leo, plus, what I believe to be liver and/or gland disturbances.

Meanwhile, Trump prefers to focus on his subjective, self-defensive ideas and plans, and on Mercurial interests such as trade, commerce, propaganda and promotion of a cause, oration, and a voluminous amount of communication that's more his 'style'. Plus, as you know, he fancies himself the best 'deal maker' ever born - and he's addicted to tweeting directly to approximately 30% of the American people. The ones who have Twitter accounts, that is. Neptune = the web or internet, the masses, and the media, while Mercury = tweets, gossip, lies, and insults. And of course, the Covid-19 pandemic takes up much of his brooding time these days along with deep anxiety over his 2020 re-election, or re-(s)election, I call it. Add to his worries a volatile stock market which naturally involves Mercury in his trade and commerce roles and it's a wonder Trump can manage to get out of bed each day by noon. Remember the olden days when he admitted that he had thought the job of presidentin' would be easy?!

Summer 2019

Now last year, Trump's once-only Mercury Return perfected on June 9, 2019 with both Mercury and Mars out-of-bounds of the earthly plane yet widely conjunct by degree (7A03). Venus was unaspected (an isolated wallflower?), and a midpoint picture formed in the 2019 Return chart with chatty trickster Mercury at apex: Moon-Uranus = Mercury which contains potentials for 'suggestive thought power' (like an experienced propagandist should! Goebbel's 'The Big Lie' really works!!), 'great mental activity' (his sneaky Mercury-Neptune mind is always scheming), 'surprises' and/or 'sudden news'. I would add, exciting or quirky ideas, fanatic planning, and/or peculiar interests.

Summer 2020

But conditions are different in 2020, both on the ground and above our heads, so let's consider Trump's 2020 Mercury Return which is actually a three-fer this year due to Mercury's period of retrogradation: 1. June 5; 2. July 2 Rx; and 3. July 20. Additionally, the Mercury-infused November Election will allegedly take place as scheduled and, as you know, Mercury is the planet of votes, voters, ballots, elections, decisions, glitches, lies, and such - and Mercury in late Libra changes direction on November 3rd. So I wish I could say that voting and voting machines will run smoothly on November 3rd, ballots will not be tampered with, votes will be accurately counted and reported, even if mailed in - but I can't so I won't. That's if the 2020 Election is held at all (coronavirus the expected justification).

Besides, Trump is under orders to 'win' a second term and he knows that accountability for his many crimes may have to be faced if he loses. Well, someone - a group of someones - certainly selected an operator who'd do absolutely anything to keep and expand whatever power he's grabbed, saving his own derriere and lining his deep pockets in the process.

And so Tweeter Trump's 2020 Mercury Return period is prominent this summer and until his next return in 2021. Mercury's aspects in all three charts should be considered along with house and planet ruler-ships, and other related chart factors should be noted (ex: any planets in Gemini or Virgo, and houses where these signs appear). And since it's a three-fer return, the year or approximate year until the next return perfects can be divided into quarters (12 mos divided by 3 returns = 4 mos each) to focus more closely on the timing of events and conditions. Perhaps the typical problem-denial-solution method sometimes used for retrograding planets would be informative as well for those who have the hours to spend.

Then adding to the revelatory possibilities of Summer 2020 will be two Lunar Eclipses, one on June 5th @15Sag34 and one on July 5th @13Cap38 opposite US natal Sun (secrets and scandals revealed?) so I suppose one must admit that US natal Sun @13Cancer symbolizes the current resident of the Oval Office, Donald J. Trump, who plays the POTUS role like a bull in a China shop, mismanaging as he careens along. That would be his nibs.

The Lunar Eclipse @15Sag34 of June 5, 2020 reflects the 16 South Solar Eclipse of December 7, 1779 @15Sag45; 16 South Themes now reflected: 'misdirected motivations; wasted energy especially when dealing with groups'. Well, the Cancer-Capricorn polarity contains Security issues and Home vs Career concerns, plus, Health conditions are implicated through the signs' sobering Moon-Saturn influences. And naturally, Moon-to-Sun symbolically echoes a New Moon, a phase of 'seeding plans' as a new cycle of activity begins in the realm of The Public (Moon) vs Authority Figures (Saturn) as 2020 Moon meets 1776 Sun.

And you know that "aimless expectation" reminds me of such things as Trump's touted fantasies about a quick-as-a-bunny Covid vaccine or the virus magically disappearing in April - not to mention drinking bleach as a cure (it is not!!).

Summer 2020 Brings a Significant Solar Eclipse Repeating from 2001

Meanwhile, new troubles and disruptions may loom around the time of the 4 North Summer Solstice Eclipse @00Cancer, one of the four World Points of Manifestation suggesting global events unfolding. And--stop the presses!--Trump has a birthday wedged into the mix, this year on June 13th. He'll turn 74 years old, is known to be drug-addled, and is not in the best physical condition in spite of his doctors' lies. But to Trump appearances are everything, yet my suspicion is that his true health condition won't be fooled by appearances for much longer. If only more of his supporters would join the real world and recognize the evil that bedevils and beguiles us - and that the elites' tiresome tactic of divide and conquer is alive and kicking hard against We The Masses in 2020.

May 21, 2019 Trump, Mercury, Nemesis, and McGahn

In April just passed we discussed the possibility of former White House Counsel Don McGahn (his 'noon' natal chart shown) testifying before Congress on Tuesday May 21, 2019. If he shows up (see video link, below).

Taking the Fifth against self-incrimination notwithstanding, Mr. McGahn may or may not appear on Capitol Hill tomorrow or at a later date and yet (for the curious among us) the current transit of asteroid Nemesis (divine retribution; the unbeatable foe) may deserve our attention this week for its Zodiacal meet-up with a certain natal planet of Donald Trump.

Because on the morning of May 21, 2019, transit Nemesis clocks in @8Can35 - conjunct the natal Mercury of Donald Trump (8Can51). However, this conjunction of Nemesis-to-Mercury @8Can51 won't perfect until May 22, 2019 at 1:13 am edt Washington DC when a YOD pattern forms with potentials for crisis, crossroads, turning point, special task, and/or karmic opportunity for progress. With the transiting and explosive pair of Mars-Uranus sextile at its base, the YOD's apex is the May 22, 2019 Midheaven ('MC') @2Sag49, and the Sabian Symbol for '3Sag' (rounding up) is "Two Men Playing Chess"...keyword: ABILITY; negative expression: "unsuspected bigotry or foolish exactitude" (Jones).

Well, since we're talking Trump here I'm not certain how unsuspected the bigotry is. But I am certain we can read the trio in the YOD as a midpoint picture containing potentials...Mars-Uranus = MC: an inflexible character; desire for independence; a person 'putting a pistol to someone's head'; act of violence; the execution of drastic and violent measures; injury; accident; operation; extraordinary achievements (Ebertin). These potentials affect the Goal Point of the Nemesis-Mercury May 22, 2019 1:13 am edt Washington DC chart and seem to express Trump's extreme desperation to keep his affairs as private as possible.

So as everyone has noticed long before now, foes, enemies, and opponents are always on Trump's mind and his tendency toward mobster speak spotlights this (ex: people who reveal the truth about him are "rats"). Meanwhile, Trump's natal Uranus-NN-Sun in Mercury-ruled Gemini reveals his life vs death attitude, often a feature of Gemini along with the sign's desperate need to always be right. Plus, Trump's oriental Uranus in the 10th house describes his love of chaos as a ruling style for he likes to disrupt everything, then watches to see who's still standing.

And aptly enough, in May 2019 Trump's natal Nemesis @16Can40 has progressed to 16Leo09 conjunct his SP Mercury 15Leo48. That transit Nemesis now conjoins his natal Mercury (8Can51) spotlights the unbeatable foe/divine retribution implications of Trump's thinking and, of course, his communications such as his revenge tweeting. But is he pondering the joy of separation and of saying good-bye?

Perhaps, because his current progressed ('SP') midpoint pictures affecting his SP Mercury in Leo reveals interesting potentials such as: SP Moon-Saturn = SP Mercury: 'sadness, saying good-bye'; and SP Mars-Uranus = SP Mercury: 'a test of power carried out calculatingly; nervous irritation; an achievement; acting independently'; and SP Moon-MC = SP Mercury: 'soul stirrings' (Ebertin). Really?!!?

Then another SP midpoint picture may apply as well--SP Neptune-NN = SP Pluto: exercising a bad influence upon associations between people; relationship breakdown between people living together. Of course you know the Neptune-NN pair denotes 'a lack of communal sense and feeling; the inclination to exploit, deceive, and cheat other people'. So says Reinhold Ebertin about fraudulent, undermining Neptune when combining its urge-to-merge energies with the North Node of public contact and future direction. Michael Munkasey adds the potential to: 'use strong destructive forces to protect one's privacy'.

And one's tax returns, and Don MacGahn's and Robert Mueller's information about the criminal activities and obstructive behavior of Big T.

Now to close, it may be of interest to mention that Don McGahn's natal Nemesis @25Tau54 sits upon the natal Midheaven of Donald Trump (conjunct enraged star Algol) while opposite, Mr. McGahn's natal Neptune Rx @24Sco21 conjoins the natal IC of Donald Trump! DC Horoscope: Manafort Trial September 17, 2018

Update August 28, 2018: the September 17th trial of Paul Manafort will proceed as scheduled with jury selection, however, opening statements are postponed for one week until September 24th.

Uncertain of the precise hour the trial of Paul Manafort opens on September 17, 2018 in a Washington DC courtroom, the following horoscope is set for '8:00 am edt' and as you see, the Midheaven ('MC'), or Goal Point, at the top of the chart @8Can34 shows the natal Mercury of Donald Trump crossing over it at that moment. Fixed star Alhena is there as well with its theme, to have a mission. Might the mission have anything to do with Trump's chatty if duplicitous Mercury? More likely with Mr. Manafort's knowledge of the Mercurial Trump's 2016 campaign.

September 17, 2018 The Cosmic Curtain Rises in Judge Jackson's Courtroom

Rising at 8:00 am is 7Lib32 which makes Venus chart-ruler yet she makes no applying aspects at all to clue us in on how things will proceed. Or does she? With no application of the chart-ruler, we must depend on Venus' sign, degree, house placement (2nd h of Money, Values, Possessions), and house ruler-ship to tell the tale. Here, with Venus in brooding Scorpio, sign of corporations, money, big business, and betrayal, we find the Sabian Symbol for Venus' degree instructive: '6Scorpio' = "A Gold Rush"...AMBITION with its negative expression of "a lack of practical discrimination and an irresistible desire for easy money." (Jones). Considering the allegations against unregistered 'foreign lobbyist' and money launderer, Mr. Manafort, this seems clear enough, right? Plus, Venus also rules the corporate 8th house of Finance, Shared Resources, Credit, and Debt via Taurus, the luxury-loving sign of Paul Manafort's natal Moon. Yes, luxury, comfort, money, and possessions are his reigning needs (Moon).

Then there's Mr. Trump's natal Cancerian Mercury at Goal Point--Mercury, planet of communications (ex: tweets), commerce, trade, theft, deals and negotiations--in Cancer, sign of patriotism, shrewd business ability, and self-protection, so we may expect Paul Manafort's knowledge of Mr. Trump's words, plans, deals, and 'patriotism' to be part of the legal proceedings if Trump's name comes up at all. Possibly it will in relation to the events, contacts, and negotiations which took place at RNC 2016 as foreign actors lurked about:

So as you see, 8:00 am edt is an Hour of Saturn, perfect for legalities and for holding the innocent-until-proven-guilty to account. Upper right of the chart I penned the ASC 7Lib32 to show that Trump's natal Neptune (5:50 Rx) is rising, then Manafort's natal Neptune (13:52 Rx) about to rise. The Sun-Mercury midpoint (business people) of this chart sits upon America's natal Neptune (23Virgo) which provides a cosmic picture of swindlers and crooks (Ebertin). Homegrown ones, I guess. Anyway, at the Foundation (IC) of the chart, the Moon at a Cardinal World Point) pairs with Saturn conjoins asteroid Orpheus so cue the violins for the emotional heaviness that pervades. Yet the Moon-Saturn duo can also denote ambition and strategy especially here in Capricorn.

This is a first quarter Moon phase (crisis in action) but what really catches my eye is the Locomotive shape of the planets (ruthless success) led by little Mercury @21Virgo--conjunct fixed star Denebola (to go against society). Mercury is oriental (rises just before the Sun) and in the 12th house of Politics, Karma, Self-Undoing, Secret Enemies, and Backroom Deals. And of course, Sun in 12th house denotes unconscious arrogance and with Mercury oriental it's predictably a 'cross the Ts dot the Is' sort of day.

Paul Manafort's natal Mercury at Aries Point (00:04) is in process of being visited by transit Chiron (the wounded healer, the wound, the blind spot) suggesting him as a conduit of some sort for sending messages. Then his natal Venus @7Ari42 is setting for the vengeful-when-scorned planet sits precisely on the Descendant at 8:00 am--with his natal Mars @8Ari21. With this pair, are love affairs or other liaisons indicated? Or merely irritability, exaggeration, and possibly a lack of tact? (Ebertin).

Now striding across the chart is a Grand Cross if we allow the Nodal axis to take part. Otherwise, it's a double T-Square between the Venus-Uranus opposition that points toward Mars @1AQ28--and US POTUS Sun (in 2017, Sun @00AQ48 = Trump) on one end, and Venus-Uranus = North NOde on the other. Quick responses and intense feelings are suggested. Plus, someone is 'ready to go' and 'proud' (POTUS Sun). Of course, another picture is shown--Mars-NN = Uranus which denotes potentials for upsets and sudden experiences, but also for active cooperation. Then Venus opposite Uranus adds collaboration to the Mars-Nodal picture. But surely not the flipping of Paul Manafort! Probably just the legal teams involved in the investigations and the trial.

And naturally, there's a notation at the bottom of the horoscope with saboteur and wealth-hoarder Pluto @18Cap48 Rx again intensifying the 1993 Uranus-Neptune conjunction/s (18Cap) which forms a midpoint picture of 'the big picture must be followed; very little option to do otherwise' (Tyl). Sounds like an offer someone can't refuse. The Sabian Symbol for this degree describes POLITICAL POWER and, negatively, 'strong-armed paternalism' at its 'best' (by which I mean worst) and here in 4th house, the Basis of the whole shebang.

And we mustn't neglect to mention the Jupiter-Pluto sextile (plutocrats; big wheeler-dealers--2nd h of Money, 4th h of Real Estate) which forms a temporary YOD (crisis; turning point) with Trump's natal Uranus-NN-Sun trio which is marked in orange in the 8th house. As a midpoint picture, this suggests Mr. Trump's tendencies for quick exploitation of every situation, far-reaching associations, possible adjustment to new circumstances, fanatical striving for improvement, and political activities (Ebertin). As a YOD the pattern can act as a timer for major adjustments which must be made so that a complete change of direction is facilitated. If the energies are poorly handled, results will be negative for Mr. Trump.

Well, there are many more cosmic clues in the chart and in later charts of the day but since I try to avoid typing too much about a horoscope for which I have no exact hour, I'll leave you with this spotty analysis until and unless the hour the trial begins is discovered causing the different house cusps to change to a large extent so that any of the portents mentioned in today's post don't hold.
