Asteroid archetypes and the financial criminals they describe

Many astrologers combine asteroids and their mythological archetypes within their planetary work for delving more deeply into events and personalities, and the study of criminal personalities can be an intriguing branch of the ancient art.

One such master in this department is Mark Andrew Holmes whose Financial Criminals: Asteroid Analysis is now published at Modern Astrology. Chart details of financial culprits and crooks are provided and include asteroid analyses on Bernard Madoff, Jeffrey Skilling, and several others.

Asteroid meanings are a fine-tuned way of delineating a subject or event so check out Mark's article for further - and deeper - information on asteroid archtypes.

You may even discover that an asteroid archetype previously unknown to you can describe a facet of your own personality...on an up-and-up level, of course!

Naomi Klein interviews Michael Moore - text link

On Sept 25, 2009 Naomi Klein interviewed by phone Michael Moore whose new film Capitalism: A Love Story is garnering excellent reviews.

Click the link to read the text of their interview.

Plus, you'll find a video of the film's trailer embedded a few posts below this on Sept 21. It's worth your effort, if you haven't seen it. Actually, don't scroll - here's the link for you.

For as Mr. Moore says so ably on our behalf: we want our money back.

And I must pass on what David Letterman just said on TV about Dick Cheney's back surgery...he needed it from carrying Bush for 8 years.

Then, today as I waited in line, whose frowning snoot do I spy on the cover of a supermarket tabloid but that of ex-prez George Bush along with the news that Bush is depressed and suicidal. Hmm. With his ego?

Capitalism: A Love Story - the trailer

If you've one of nine people who have read this blog before then you know it was only a matter of time before the trailer for Michael Moore's new film, Capitalism: A Love Story was embedded for your convenience.

The other evening I saw this trailer on The Jay Leno Show so I hope you'll get something out of watching it, if you haven't seen it. This is one film that may have be seen in a movie theater (drat! theaters are always too loud for me even with earplugs. But I'll make the sacrifice for this one.)

Falling Romes and Americas: US Sec Full Moon chart

In a 60-minute video, David M. Walker discusses similarities between the Fall of Rome with our falling America, and other related subjects.

Does this pertain at all to America's recent Secondary Full Moon @ 4Vir/Pis10?

On my WordPress 'tapestry' blog some months ago, I posted the chart of the US Secondary Full Moon with details, based on the US 'Sibly' natal chart (July 4, 1776, 5:10 pm LMT, Philadelphia, PA) which perfected on Dec 24, 2008 - and time-wise was well-snugged in the midst of the dying throes of the Bush-Cheney administration and US financial collapse proceedings and the heistings made possible through TARP bailouts of the banking culprits and Wall Street gentry who were behind the stink.

George Bush began by sneaking in the White House's back door and left by the thieve's escape hatch, imo.

A Secondary Full Moon (based on the daily movement of the Sun - one day = appr one year) is a timing mechanism by which we may see when the natal entity (person, nation, event) has expanded as far as it can - time to pull back and become more realistic for a pentacle of effort and achievement has been attained.

The current transit of Saturn (Mr. Reality himself) to US natal Neptune 22Vir25 (ideals, dreams, delusions) underscores this need to pull back, for Saturn-to-Neptune is the 'facing grim reality' transit; transformative Pluto's grind through Saturn-ruled Capricorn is having its destructuring/rebuilding effects as well.

But as with life, Astrology is a pos/neg blend: Saturn-to-Neptune may also indicate dreams (Neptune) becoming real (Saturn) - but whose dreams?, I'd like to know. That our ideals should become more realistic is obvious.

But why stop with our own culpability? This cycle isn't new, it's old, as evidenced by the culminating Sec Full Moon.

It is a grim reality is that the American expansionists of the 1890s - the Robber Baron class of natural resource plunderers, international bankers, and their ilk, and most definitely politicians including Teddy Roosevelt - have taken this nation into bursting mode after piling up all the riches they could along the way.

Sassily I assert that some Washington politicians are astrologers or, as Reagan once did, employ them, so that they know the expansionist jig is up, too, and have long seen it coming. It's an example of natural cycles and laws of the universe, and thus cannot be denied; yet the situation shown astrologically and manifesting in the real world can be 'worked with' and improved upon. For that we are grateful.

Well, for years now I've been blabbing along these 'over-expansionism leads to bubble-bursting' lines, but it is only after the Financial Crisis of 2008 that a majority of people see and feel the results with their own eyes and in their emptying pocketbooks - thus, they need Astrology's lens not at all to know that we've been had, and that 'expansion' is no longer the name of America's game...or, should not be (I'm looking at you, Mr. Obama, with your war expansionism. Thousands of US troops to Afghanistan = very bad idea.)

The outcome of loss and misery is such that it makes the decades - centuries - of banking foibles and deceits no less heinous for the average family, yet I admit that I do like to see large issues done in black and white - and an Astrology chart suffices perfectly for me.

Therefore, I am publishing here the US Sec Full Moon chart based on the Franklin natal chart (same date @ 2:21 am LMT) which gives a different date for the perfection of the US Sec Full Moon: August 6, 2009, the day Congress ended its current session for the August recess - and more recent than Dec 24, 2008. You know the immediate results of many reps' experiences with 'town hall' meetings and shout-downs, some of which were richly deserved.

Please click to enlarge the chart for my notations which you may admit are even messier than usual (probably because I'm still trying to overcome a painful ear infection so I'm not up to much snuff); you will see highlighted in red a Hard Rectangle pattern between Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mars Rx.

My previous post has Hard Rectangle details, if you'd like to read them and view Dec 24, 2008's Sec Full Moon chart with a few notes.

Two angles of the Aug 6, 2009 chart (unlike the Sec Full Moon chart issuing from the oft-used 'Sibly' natal chart for 5:10 pm LMT) have midpoint pictures upon them which give the combined energies a place for manifestation...they tell what has become a familiar tale:

Saturn/Pluto = ASC: being placed in cumbersome and difficult circumstances; mourning; sadness; separation.

Sun/Neptune = ASC: difficult life advancement; a negatively inclined environment; associations with weak or sick persons.

Mars/Neptune = Mc: lack of energy; hopelessness; failures; a state of weakness or sickness; one's own world prevails; losing contact defensively; rebuilding the inner spirit.

NN/Asc = Mc: community spirit; striving for close cooperation with others.

Both Sec charts share the following picture as noted on the chart below but typed in full here:

Moon/Mars = Neptune: weaving a spell for personal gain; possible duplicity; emotional magic; a negative attitude or character; worry; grief; a misdirection of energy; undermining circumstances affect family life detrimentally.

Though the Sec planets are in the same sign and degree in both versions ('Sibly' vs 'Franklin'), their house cusps differ; this Sec Full Moon chart has an ASC 16Sag51...'17Sag' = "An Easter Sunrise Service"...REBIRTH...

pos: an unusual realization of immortal resources and an ability to employ them wisely;

neg/unconscious/shadow side: over concern with superficial form and ceremony.

Midheaven, the Goal Point of this Sec Full Moon chart is @ '7Lib' = "A Woman Feeding Chickens and Protecting Them from the Hawks"...SHREWDNESS...

pos: high competence in administering the duties of normal experience and a very special skill in protecting the self's real interests; (ah, but on Capitol Hill, what are their 'real interests'?);

neg/unconsc/shadow side: a complete personal ineptitude in the face of life's everyday and recurrent complexities. (The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Dr. Marc Edmund Jones.)

Somehow I think that when Bush and Cheney absconded, the hawks took most of the woman's chickens with them.

Now since this very day (Saturday, Sept 5, 2009) the position of transiting Mercury, communicator and message-bearer, is @ '7Lib' perhaps I shall add more info about the Symbol for that degree from Dane Rudhyar's An Astrological Mandala; the word picture is the same as mentioned above, but his details may expand our knowledge of our predicament - to quote using Rudhyar's emphases:

Keynote: The need to face the antagonism of "powers of darkness" as one attempts to feed the mind of as yet helpless and frightened apprentices.

The most basic "Law" of our universe is that every release of new potentialities (or modes of energy) brings about a polarization of effects--that is, the new potentiality will be used both for construction and destruction. It will arouse individuals (or groups and nations) to take a series of steps which will lead some to greater success, others to deeper failure.

Whoever makes possible this new release has to accept the karma of both the success and failure. When Jesus showered his immense love upon lukewarm, self-centered individuals, it inevitably came to be turned into violent hatred when these soul-minds were unable to cope with its frightening intensity. Jesus had to accept spiritual responsibility for those who crucified him.

Rudhyar goes on to explain '7Lib' in terms of 'the forever-present struggle involved in making it possible for the future-oriented actualizers of an ideal to survive the attacks of tradition-worshiping minds that can only follow the lines of automatic response.' The Keyword is: GUARDIANSHIP.

Yes, well it's the 'future-oriented actualizers' of Washington with their secret backers and enablers - those of the 'powers of darkness' persuasion - who concern me most when it comes to my only nag in the race which was, is, and will continue to be the United States of America.

US Secondary Full Moon August 6, 2009; based on our 'Franklin' natal chart of July 4, 1776, 2:21 am LMT, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which gives independence-minded, freedom-loving Uranus rising, Moon (We-The-People) @ Midheaven.

(Midpoint pictures: Tyl; Ebertin; may manifest in an any-all-none fashion.)

Astrology of Bernanke renomination 8.25.09

Here is the text of President Obama's in-the-bag renomination of Ben Bernanke to remain at the helm of NY's Federal Reserve Bank.

Taking a break from vacationing with the family unit, the president began speaking at 8:55 am edt (Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts); he and Mr. Bernanke completed their mission at 9:01 am edt.

Wish I had time to post the start/end charts of today's announcement, but I don't.

The charts have a few critical 29th degree planets, plus North Node 29Cap45, with South Node at the degree of the July 21/22, 2009 Solar Eclipse which I've mentioned many times before (29Can27 'systems fail; new methods are needed', etc etc.) Wonder what's really going on?

Mercury 29Vir44 has just arisen (8:55 am edt: ASC 5Lib36 with Sun/Moon midpoint upon it - 'friendship'); chart-ruler Venus 28Can39 is *oriental and nearing a 29th degr and conjunct SN and the July Eclipse degree along with transiting Hygeia, Apollo, and Vesta.

Out-of-bounds Mars 29Gem53 is within range of opposing Pluto 00Cap44 Rx; Mr. Bernanke has a natal midpoint that arose from 8:55 to 9:01 am edt @ 6Lib44...

Sun/Uranus = ASC: sudden experiences; new contacts; an excitable person.

This morning's Sun 2Vir28; Moon 9Sco41/45, with Moon triggering Mr. Bernanke's natal Pluto/NN midpoint ('powerful connections') in a very interesting and apt way...

Plu/NN = Moon: reaching for the big picture; making the big scene emotionally; ambition is magnified, or there is too much fear for any action.

The desire to increasing Fed authority comes to mind with this one.

At Midheaven for the 6 minutes of the announcement are America's Venus, Jupiter, and Sun in Cancer; Midas 8Gem43.

There are a few T-Square patterns, too...

Mars/Pluto = ASC: the fighter who dares the impossible; showing the hero image (they did. - jc)

Mars/Plu = Mercury: seeing is achieving; tenacious pursuit of plans (yep - jc); publicity; effective salesmanship; the desire to realize plans fanatically; nervous irritation.

Pluto/Mc = ASC: procurement of an important position and of recognition; a person of fame; being out in front of everyone

Plu/Mc = Mercury: a person with great powers of suggestion; a great mind; thinking big; recognition of intelligence; planning.

Transiting Saturn 22Vir08 is on-degree for US natal Neptune and Mr. Obama's natal Mars, so let's smoosh together the three planets and see what we get - in no special order, and remembering that things may act in an any-all-none fashion...

Mars/Neptune = Saturn: being taken advantage of; misdirected energy; reticence; persevering in spite of fear; a sense of futility; instability; unfortunate consequences as a result of a weak will; toxins; an epidemic.

Mars/Saturn = Neptune: insufficient power to tackle resistance or obstacles; weakening efforts; weak vitality; undermining through poison, gas, or an epidemic; loss; a mysterious death.

Saturn/Neptune = Mars: inactivity; lack of energy; preoccupations that can't be explained. (Tyl; Ebertin.)

Yes, I figured that would cheer ya up. An epidemic could certainly put a damper on the recovery we're supposed to be feeling any day now.

Or how about a natal asteroid of Mr. Bernanke's that was also rising this morning at 8:55 am edt?

That would be Persephone, keyword: transition; other levels of meaning include: separation anxiety; Lee Lehman says Persephone may indicate 'where skills are undeveloped' (hope not!), and we know who Persephone was forced to hang around with: Pluto of the Underworld, the same Pluto that guards the richest treasures.

Now as you may know, I tend to occasionally lapse into the use of degree symbols as collected by Adriano Carelli in his book, 360 Degrees of the Zodiac (published by the AFA 1977; my copy 1982), so I can't resist adding his symbols' word pictures for 5, 6, and 7 Libra, the rising degrees from 8:55 am to 9:01 am edt.

No explanations now, I'll just give you the symbols themselves for the ASC which is the WHAT? Point of a chart:

'5Lib' - "An albatross with glaring red beak and claws";
'6Lib' - "An old sapper busy digging";
'7Lib' - "Mary Magdalene at Christ's feet in the house of Pharisee Simon, who is scandalized by the sight." Wherefore I say unto thee, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much." Luke 7:47.

*Venus oriental: in Astrology, an 'oriental' planet is the last planet to rise before the Sun, here Venus. This indicates a career where one works with things of value, the work function is personalized somehow, and work evaluation is a welcome substitute for direct evaluation of one's person which might be hard to accept or believe. Financial Astrology 2009 - 2010: Saturn, Jupiter-Neptune

Master Financial Astrologer Ray Merriman has an article on Saturn's Realities and Jupiter/Neptune Hopes that takes us from 2009 into 2010.

Since financial cycles and astrological cycles may be understood in tandem and one used as a magnifying glass to read the other, I recommend Mr. Merriman's article to you, especially since the current media attention seems focused more on Jupiter/Neptune's dreams and grand schemes than on Saturnian practicalities and realism.

2009, year of the Great Conjunction/s of Jupiter and Neptune. This speculating and possibly religious pair's third and final conjunction will be on Dec 21, 2009 @ 24AQ18, conj US natal Moon (the people.) Shall I type out the midpoint picture this forms one more time? Okay.

Jup/Nep = US n Moon: an emotional swoon; going with the wind; dreaminess deceives; becoming involved in speculation (I know - we've been doing that for years, that's a big part of the problem - sheeple to the slaughter); little sense of reality (engrossing new films and TV shows help divert us; plus, power politics played in front of the cameras); losing oneself in plans; instability; wastefulness. (Tyl; Ebertin.)

2009 is also the year of transiting Saturn's late August-early September visit to America's Neptune in Virgo, sign of Health, Work, and Service (which includes our police and military forces.) This is the 'grim reality' transit - but everything Saturn *changes, for change he does, is necessary for owning up to truth, and for lessoning us into compliance with the way things really are.

"All good things must come to an end," was undoubtedly dictated by Saturn, old Cronos himself...to Mercury, **The Scribe.

But Washington, Wall Street and the gold-encrusted world banks are fighting having their culpabilities and weaknesses exposed, as Saturn always insists upon. Destructuring, transformative Pluto the saboteur is Rx again and in the first degree of Saturn-ruled Capricorn which adds to a general sense of doom, and that fated, karmic reaping-what-we-sow vibe.

Thing is, it was mainly the uppercrust who sowed sorriness, and the common folk are doing the reaping of the power elite's frauds and faulty thinking.

The good news is that Saturn-to-Neptune has the magical ability to bring dreams (Neptune) into Saturnian reality and form, so my wish is that it's Saturn the Grizzly Wizard coming along to create new jobs and opportunities which are more stable and long lasting than any dream we have previously imagined.

Our American character's Neptunian dreams and ideals are of a practical Virgoan nature, after all.

I don't think a decent job (Saturn) is too much to expect (Neptune)!

*One of the caps Saturn wears is The Time Keeper. He doesn't wear it jauntily either, but he does keep a stopwatch in his hand.

**Mercury/Saturn is 'the signature of the professional writer' as Noel Tyl informed me when consulting on my natal chart a few years back. jc

Is Larry Summers Obama's Cheney?

Did Germany's Angela Merkel manage to straighten out President Obama's faulty financial thinking during her visit to Washington?

A view from Germany seems to be that President Obama is making economic mistakes galore - is financial ideologue Larry Summers Obama's Cheney?

NY Fed Chairman abruptly resigns: Mercury Rx!

An early casualty of Mercury retrograde?

The Chairman of the NY Federal Reserve Bank has abruptly resigned thus making 're-signs' an obvious re- of retrograde Mercury (contracts; agreements.)

Yes, Stephen Friedman was a naughty Fed boy with lots of Goldman Sachs in his portfolio so he's leaving with - my guess - his millions of marbles intact...the golden kind, I mean. Or is he simply attempting to clear out of Dodge before the sheriff shows up at the door?

TARP Thievery: Jupiter/Neptune = US Moon

Robert Scheer's Thievery Under the TARP is a perfect real life illustration of the current Great Conjunction of the speculation pair Jupiter and Neptune as they meet with America's natal Moon (the people) in Aquarius all through 2009.

Regrettably the Jupiter/Neptune = Moon warning: 'becoming involved in speculation; losing oneself in plans; going with the wind; wastefulness; instability' is in the air.

Can you smell it?

Did Bush conspire with Iran?

Prevaricator extraordinaire Ahmed Chalabi says that Bush conspired with Iran before the toppling of Saddam Hussein.

But then the Bush administration wasn't (and isn't) known for its own clarity or truth-telling. Murkiness, oui. Honesty, nyet.

That's one of the troubles with the 'ends justify the means' crowd from the world crime syndicate - or syndicates, whichever more closely applies to the tentacle/s near you. They can't believe one another even when it counts.

It's a bit like the world financial crisis: what is the world coming to when thieves can't trust thieves? Oh yeah - the old saw about there being 'no honor among thieves' is old precisely because it's true.

That they could masquerade as long as they did as 'upstanding corporate businessmen' is one of the biggest jokes of all - with the rest of the world the butt.

Tell me again: why is Pres Obama looking racist?

Here's an article from Stars Over Washington's Looks As If It's True Department:

Obama sides with banks accused of racism which is difficult to believe and even harder to stand for.

He's begun to sound too much like Bush3 for me.

The subprime mortgage case involves several of those Pluto-Chiron isms and I don't think a cute little black'n'white puppy should take precedence over this legal case in the media no matter *who gifted the Portugese water dog to the young Obama daughters (sweet as they are.)

Actually I think it's not about racism for Mr. Obama per se, it's about protecting the financially powerful elite who helped put him in office for such a purpose as this. Perhaps Pres. Obama is more of a monarchist than a racist, hmm?

Well? Have you any thoughts on the matter?

Bill Maher on the American Empire: video link

Here's a link to a video of Bill Maher concerning America as empire - yes, removing US troops from Iraq would only be the tip of the iceberg.

Is America "stuck" with an empire? Some elements of our government purposefully built it, but let Mr. Bill tell you his quirky yet truth-telling ideas.

The US has military bases in 150 countries. And Chalmers Johnson, in his NYT bestseller, The Sorrows of Empire (2005) provides a list of 'sorrows' the last one of which we seem to be in process of experiencing since 2008...bankruptcy. This a permanent war economy has wrought - with corporate greed and political corruption as the sauce ladled on top.

And so the current financial crisis is intricately linked with Pres. Obama's plans to escalate the war in Afghanistan (which I have previously stated is 'a very bad idea') and will only make matters worse as it ramps up jihad recruiting against the west and, if you care about personal and national finances, negates the possibility of ever knowing fiscal responsibility or prosperity again.

George Bush and Dick Cheney tossed our economy into the dustbin with their upping of hawkish imperialism and I hope and pray that Barack Obama is as smart as he's said to be. It simply cannot make sense to continue our nation's global dream of running the world while being the most hated nation on the globe - and retain a sovereign nation with any resemblance to a United States of America that any sane, free person would like to live in.

To quote Chalmers Johnson:

"The economic consequences of imperialism and militarism are also transforming our value system by degrading "free enterprise," which many Americans cherish and identify with liberty. Our military is by far the largest bureaucracy in our government. Militarism removes capital and resources from the free market and allocates them arbitrarily, in accordance with bureaucratic decisions uninfluenced by market forces but often quite responsive to insider influence and crony capitalism."

He then goes on to detail how on March 10, 2003, the US government invited 5 engineering companies to submit bids for post-war building in Iraq. You know the main offenders: KBR, Cheney's old company as a subsidiary of Halliburton, and Bechtel, which Mr. Johnson says has "half-century-old connections to the CIA and to high-ranking Republican politicians."

No wonder Congress and the Republicans in charge were so gung ho for invading Iraq. One may imagine that several Democrats in Congress held portfolios full of Bechtel and KBR shares as well. And I had thought the Bush-Cheney war was illegally perpetrated in part to interrupt Hussein's oil black market that France and Germany had been profiting by. Two birds, one stone, and topple Poppy's old nemesis, too?

As Chalmers Johnson continues, "Virtually all contracts coming from the military reflect insider trading."

He then quotes Robert Higgs, a senior fellow in political economy at the Independent Institute, summarizing the military-industrial complex as: "a vast cesspool of mismanagement, waste, and transgressions not only bordering on but often entering deeply into criminal conduct...The great arms firms have managed to slough off much of the normal risks of doing business in a genuine market, passing on many of their excessive costs to the taxpayers while realizing extraordinary rates of return on investment."

Well, there we go! And if the military-industrial complex (as wielded by the one-world-government acolytes who have coup'd our nation) isn't reformed, or better yet stopped in its hoof-tracks, any tactics, legislation, and bailouts attempting to 'repair' our broken economy will be but a drop in the militarily-siphoned bucket.

So I want to sign off with two quotes on the subject from past presidents who warned us best they could in 1796 and again in 1961. But as it turns out, the power-hungry ones with black-hearts can read, too:

"Overgrown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to Republican liberty."

President George Washington, Farewell Address, Sept 17, 1796

And here's the ignored advice you've read many times over:

"This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience...In the councils of government, we must guard against the unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic process. We should take nothing for granted."

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Farewell Address, Jan 17, 1961

Misplaced power was sought. Disaster has risen. And unless the madness is curtailed, bankruptcy is on America's menu.

Krugman and the too-small economic plan

Update 8:46 pm edt: seems Paul Krugman is fulfilling a useful role on behalf of the left and if economic and political improvements ensue, we can say, well played!

Plus, astrologers will notice references to 'ice breaking' and the old vs new order such as the ongoing Saturn (old) - Uranus (new) opposition has brought into everyone's lives. Saturn and Uranus began their present cycle in 1988 so it's 1988 to 2008...20 years from inception to culmination with those who prefer the status quo of Saturn (banking system) clinging to it for all it's worth...which may be nothing, as it turns out.

And which side is the president on? Paul Krugman is accusing him of being too status quo - and Mr. Obama does have Saturn Rx in its own sign of staid Capricorn.

Let's hope BHO's progress-loving Aquarian Jupiter pulls him forward in the monetary department so the weasels of Wall Street and in the musty dusty banking houses can be put out to pasture. They're way too anti-society for me!

Original post begins here:

Today I've been catching up with Paul Krugman's blog entries and wondering if he's been correct all along - Pres. Obama's economic plan in its current form is too small to be effective as more job loss woes plague us into 2010.

Actually my intuition on the subject agreed with Dr. Krugman from the start and I do wish the party-serving critics of Obama and the Democrats would hush up their pie holes and let America heal her wounds, many of which were inflicted or enabled by politicians such as themselves.

And in case you missed it, here's a video of the presentation Dr. Krugman gave to the World Affairs Council of Oregon on The Global Economy, given Jan 29, 2009, with audience questions following.

The video is 1 hour 34 minutes long with questions beginning at the last 30 minute mark.

Did Ronald Reagan destroy Main Street?

Here's an average American who thinks he did and several commenters who agree.

With the 1980s nicknamed the Decade of Greed, it would seem that Republicans who now yearn for a return to 'Reaganism' are treading the same old (wrong) track to Trickledownville, but that train left the station years ago.

Plus, the greed we already got. The 'voodoo economics' we've been saddled with for far too long and we can blame rather than revere the president who presided over exploding deficits, out-of-control spending, outsourced jobs, and fiscal fraud which are at the root of today's economic problems.

So thanks, Gipper. You were little more than an empty suit following orders but some folks think you deserve to share the credit for the mess we're now in along with self-serving world bankers, monarchists, and their CEO pals.

And of course, let's not forget the roles played by the enabling shills on The Hill.

If Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner announces the details of his rescue plan tomorrow as I've heard he's to do, it will be a day of Sun Aries-Moon Aquarius, a blend with an interesting Image for Integration under the circumstances...

'A gallant crusader turns his sword into a computer chip and broadcasts New Age philosophy.' ('Sun Sign-Moon Sign,' Chas & Suzi Harvey.)

Hmmm...at its worst it sounds like a Templar promoting the New World Economic Order to me, and I don't know about you but I don't like it in the least. In fact, it considerably grumps me up but I will give him a chance to explain in his halting way.

TARP funds now campaign donations for Congress

Have you heard?

After a tiny respite for public relations effect, the US Congress is once gain accepting campaign donations from bailed-out banks which are again their personal piggybanks at taxpayers' expense - and even corporate-welfared GM and Chrysler are donating big bucks to keep our crooked politicians wallowing in the fatcat clover of Washington.

This is the sort of news that makes anyone (who continues to claim that there is no class warfare against the common man and woman) aware at last of Pluto-Chiron's game of oppression which keeps the disenfranchised down. And please - anyone still under the influence of the 'Rs vs Ds' myth - fuggeddabowdit!

Notice who is in we-the-people's corner - it isn't the US Congress with their Capitol Hill Theater productions that amount to little or nothing of merit, their secret meetings to plot against us, or their freakish 'crowning' of Sun Myung Moon (among many other things we would disapprove of if we knew about them. It's difficult to believe they did it, but you can view the video of the crazy ceremony!)

No, I never forget the Sabian Symbol for America's natal Jupiter, planet of money and ideals: "Gamebirds Feathering Their Nests" ('6 Cancer') - in case I'm ever tempted to doubt what Congress' deeply-held "ideals" really are and where their true loyalties lie.

Astrology of the Fed and 2009

This morning I've been attempting a mild catch-up on Astrology articles concerning 2009 - especially those relating to the economic crisis. I've just read one by Boots Hart, The Recessionary Reserve, where the Fed's Scorpionic Midheaven and natal chart are discussed in useful detail including the Fed's Solar Returns 2007/08, and more. Not to be missed!

Hart says that the Fed's Scorpionic balance is "out of whack" while everyone has gone into 'me first' mode due to fear, one of the more negative traits of Scorpio.

If you haven't checked out this article yet, please do.

And while at Daykeeper Journal, you may also wish to visit Crystal Pomeroy, who gives her overview of 2009 which, Crystal says, is "a portal of great challenge and equally substantial opportunity."

Crystal covers 2009 as a year of '11' which is a master number of potential transcendence allowing us to "transmute obstacles and limitations into a higher good."

Thanks, Crystal! A higher good is exactly what a saddened and beggared world could use and, as you say, each of us can contribute in our own way even while highly paid Washington politicians continue fiddling their fearful tune.

A Note from Georgia: three more banks were shut down here over the weekend. My own has morphed into Wells Fargo which seems to be working okay so far. And Gov. Purdue has ordered state workers to take every other Friday off as a furlough - without pay.

Consumer Confidence way back in Oct 2002

Here's a walk down memory lane into US financial territory a la Oct 2002 with pre-Iraq-war economic murmurs, outsourced jobs au revoir, lowered consumer confidence, and post-9/11 shakiness all rolled into one ball of wax now melting at a bank near you...

Stiglitz on our 5 keys mistakes (Saturn to US Neptune)

Capitalist Fools

By Joseph E. Stiglitz

Behind the debate over remaking US financial policy will be a debate over who's to blame. It's crucial to get the history right, writes a Nobel-laureate economist, identifying five key mistakes-under Reagan, Clinton, and Bush II - and one national delusion.

~:~

Warning: the following astrological comments are serious - do not read if you're looking for pie in Neptune's sky!

Ah, yes, one 'national delusion.' In Astrology that would be, as you know, America's Neptune in Virgo, sign of the dedicated worker. Our collective Neptune is being visited heavily by transiting Saturn, planet of realism, within orb now but exact at the end of August into early September 2009.

This is the 'grim reality' transit so our national delusion is being made painfully clear with laser focus, or perhaps with a significant disillusioning event in Aug-Sept of 2009.

Saturn can bring loss along with regret for past mistakes (if there have been any - and there have), and Neptune has to do with living on credit - pretend money, money we don't actually have - and isn't that our illusory finances in an astrological nutshell?

The US 'Sibly' or Rudhyar charts have Neptune in 9th house which in Horary Astrology is the department (House) of foreigners, our world view, wisdom, and abstract thought. Saturn prefers the practical to the abstract, so Saturn is useful for talking Neptune down from the heights.

And foreigners are running from the US dollar in droves, plus they're part of the total buy-up of gold which has caused gold backwardation - as of Dec 2, 2008. See jude's threshold for a recent article on gold backwardation.

With Saturn-to-Neptune, there can also be confusion as to what or who is responsible for what, especially with money matters, and we are experiencing that now as well...see article above! We could say that Joseph Stiglitz (Saturn, a man of authority) is bringing Saturnian realism to our national delusion (Neptune), couldn't we?

Even the title, Capitalist (Saturn) Fools (Neptune) applies as Saturn 'descends' Neptune, but I have no drawing of that, only this one, 'Neptune Ascends' which could be seen as descending instead....

More realism on the way:

Saturn then goes on to US natal Midheaven (which we will have to consider later - it should mean being at the top of one's game professionally, but with all that's going wrong in America, it indicates to me more loss of standing in the world and restriction of our Libran ideals with possible legal system implications.)

Then it's the US Saturn Return to 10th house, which this time will be a three-fer due to Saturn's retrogradation...using the US 'Sibly' chart, here are the dates when Saturn returns to natal degree:

1. Dec 3, 2010
2. Mar 22, 2011
3. Aug 28, 2011

US n Saturn 14Lib48:20 is in 10th house, so our national return to realism stretches out into the next 2 to 3 years with the ongoing social dislocation of home and income loss attending.

Obviously, I will be posting more on our Saturn Return later on, and I wish could be more cheery about all this but that would only be more of the same rose-colored Neptunian glasses - and would vex Saturn who doesn't appreciate his lessons being dissed!
