Wednesday's Politics? uninspiring

Yes, I was around today and keeping up with the week's political theatrics which I found quite uninspiring for blogging purposes here at Stars Over Washington.

That's why instead I followed my artist-astrologer's heart and spent an inordinate amount of time studying and blogging on the natal chart and eyesight deterioration of one of my personal favorites Edgar Degas at Jude's Threshold where I often mix Art, Astrology, and Bad Poetry with whatever else pleases me.

Such neglect! Yet no apologies are due Politics which seldom if ever makes well-deserved apologies to any of us whom it oppresses, deludes, or robs.

And while you may not care for Art History or for Degas' ballet dancers, at least you may agree with me on that since the People's Business is neglected with great regularity in our nation's capital on every issue of real concern as it ignores the common good.

Politicians are masters of diversionary 'hearings' which amount to nuthin'...will this week's tortured testimonies lead to any positive and practical results? Have the 2006 elections answered our need for a better course for America? Puh.

It's more Capitol Hill Theater, dahling...matinee tickets available for a song.

So Romney thinks going after a candidate on religion is "going too far" while I think that's the kind of statement you want someone else to make on your behalf because making it yourself sounds whiney and overly defensive while the polygamy elephant dancing in the room seems to be imagining itself invisible as it pirouettes.

Yet my intuition tells me the GOP would l-o-v-e to shove Mitt into the backdoor of the White House, elephant and all. Well, they managed it with Bush's massively big head and the pretend horse he rode in on. Perhaps it will work in 2008, too.

Ron Paul: rectified!

Thanks to Granny Miller I am now in possession of a rectified natal chart for presidential candidate, Ron Paul, whose exact time of birth is unknown (says he.)

Granny is recommending a birth time of 7:45 am based on her rectification, i.e. timing of events which coincide with angular triggers, etc, and on election day transits for Nov 4, 2008--which she says look good for the Doctor!

Here you see dual charts with Solar chart top right, and rectified chart bottom left. The 7:45 am version adds some midpoint pictures:

Mercury/Neptune = ASC: being exploited, deceived, or harmed by others; potential overreactions; open to others' influence.

Sun/Venus = ASC: a kind-hearted personality.

Jupiter/MC = Sun: success and recognition; illumination of one's life purpose; new opportunities.

NN/ASC = Jupiter: humanitarianism; fortunate associations.

The rectified chart puts Sun and Mercury in 12th house and, as you know, it's quite usual for a politician to have a 12th house (unconsciously arrogant) Sun!

More details: previous post based on Paul's solar chart (sunrise for day of birth) is here.

Solar charts are always good for ego-related or creative issues. They're like a photo of the individual that's slightly out of focus--so all the warts may not be visible; you'll find that the Sun/Moon personality details stay the same.

Hillary's realpolitiks

Just found an interesting blog by Jonolan called Reflections from a Murky Pond with a current post on Hillary Clinton's expertise with the realpolitikal process, and the recent Republican debate (so-called.)

You'll also find an interesting historical timeline of the Second Amendment from 1789 and the subtle word arranging that went on as it was being written, voted upon, and accepted. Well done.

In 1999 and 2000, I pleaded with anyone who would listen not to vote for George Bush. Now I do the same for Hillary Clinton. You wouldn't, would you?

Is she experienced? yes. Familiar with the White House and its ways? oh yes. A continuation of Bush-Clinton world agenda policies? double yes. And I know you don't want that because you see where it's brought us...to being the scourge of the world.

So the NWO's steamroller with its "strong-armed paternalism" vibe plows on along. Changing it to "strong-armed maternalism" by putting a woman in the driver's seat won't make their world government plans any less objectionable to the common man or woman.

Natal chart for the NWO which includes a link to chart details and the Sabian Symbol for "strong-armed paternalism" here.

the jewel of public liberty

"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined....O sir, we should have fine times, indeed, if to punish tyrants, it were only sufficient to assemble the people!"

--Patrick Henry (1736-1799) US Founding Father (and now one of The Disappointed)

Born May 29, 1736 (NS) in Studley, VA, Patrick Henry has Sun Gem/Moon AQ--he was an Airy (mental) guy, a Disseminating type who believed that human beings are born free.

This is a light yet serious blend, full of energy and curiosity. A reformer with prophetic gifts, it gives a determination to follow a vision of larger Truth wherever it may lead.

One of life's great spectators, this humanitarian, ultra-reasonable personality blend is shared with several people of interest: Richard Wagner, Pat Boone (I know!), Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Marilyn Monroe (yep!), Sally Ride, Jean-Paul Sartre, Edvard Grieg, Anton Mesmer (you are getting slee-py), and W.B. Yeats.

Images for Integration:

Sherlock Holmes...Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen...A scientist suddenly sees the caterpillar, chrysallis, and butterfly as one single being.
(Sun Sign, Moon Sign, Chas. & Suzi Harvey.)

It's 2007, election's coming up--wouldn't it be great to find such a clear-headed man like Patrick Henry now?

Stephen Colbert May 13, 1964

In all truthiness, I think that Stephen Colbert is reveling in his prez bid and making nasty presidential promises against my home state of Georgia, if he should win the Oval Office!

So in a spirit of intolerant and grumpy retaliation, I hereby publish Colbert's natal chart (May 13, 1964; sunrise--birth time unknown--in fact there are discrepancies concerning his very place of birth, yet there is some evidence that he was born at some point...and Washington, DC works as a re-location chart if nothing else, and may be correct.)

Funny that asteroid, Cupido, The Family; Corporations is conjunct natal Sun in Taurus. Asteroid Toro, the Bull, is at MC (Career Point), and stable Taurus, the Builder, is the strongest sign in the chart. The shadow or negative side of Taurus is stubbornness, greed and intolerance, but I'm not implying anything or waving a red cape in front of his snoot...at least I hope not.

Throughout the 24 hours of his day of birth, Moon was in Gemini (communications, esp writing, speechmaking, and announcements--great for TV) so for his personality blend we may confidently use Sun Tau/Moon Gemini:

dogmatic yet flippant; city slicker + country lad in tune with nature; natural teacher with a gift for practical (Tau) communication (Gem); witty yet penetrating conversationalist; flourishes in media, publishing, sales; good at negotiations; earthy sensuality + breezy intellectuality; passionate at heart but seems detached and unflappable; fine reasoning abilities.

Greatest Weaknesses: arguing with bullying bombast; lack of sympathy for the emotional needs of others and for the loftier aspirations of the human spirit.

Images for Integration: A wealthy publisher launches another new project...A sculptor carves the figure of a dancer...A restauranteur earns a reputation for delicious souffles and meringues...A scientist brilliantly discourses on the mysteries of nature. (Ahh, This Week in God--I remember it fondly!) (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Chas & Suzi Harvey.)

Well, it remains to be seen whether this bombastic meringue will reach the White House as commander-in-chief or as desert on Tuesdays, but his self-serving and vicious attack on drought-riddled Georgia is uncalled for and at least partially or wholly unprovoked--esp when every American knows that the presidency is for disenfranchising ALL states, not just your special pets, Mr. Colbert.

I mean, really.

Sen Chris Dodd

Sen Dodd's HuffPost article, My Oath of Office sounds like just what America needs after the last few years' worth of the criminal undermining of our Constitution.

Because he's a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, it occurs to me that Sen Dodd could've been busier with these issues before the current Bush-Cheney rot set in so deeply, and the Clinton dissolutions, too.

Still if Dodd's name is on the ballot for 2008, he may be the lesser of two you-know-whats.

Born in Willimantic CT, May 27, 1944, Dodd's Sun Gem/Moon Leo is shared natally by Rudy Giuliani, Walt Whitman, Anne Frank, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Paul McCartney (!)

The positive, regal, centerstage-loving Sun Gem/Moon Leo combo has this Image for Integration:

A king holds court and surprises his audience by joining the mandolin player in a duet of song and story. (Sorry, but only Paul gets to sing!) (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Chas & Suzi Harvey.)

As Walt Whitman wrote: "I celebrate myself; I sing myself."

R.W. Emerson adds: "Whoso would be a man must be a nonconformist."

Anne Frank: "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." (She wasn't taking Washington into consideration obviously...the varmints.)

This personality blend indicates that Senator Dodd is an 'ideas person' and a natural salesman with an eye toward the main chance. Values are rooted in the past, but he is in the here-and-now, dealing with practical problems.

His father, Sen Thomas Dodd, was a leading prosecutor during the International Nuremburg war crimes tribunals, and Chris Dodd was in attendance at JFK's Inauguration on Jan 20, 1961. Those are some heavy-duty contacts with US history.

However, Dodd's n Mars/Saturn midpoint is conj US (and George Bush's) n Sun...

Mars/Saturn = Sun: breaking down under stress; possible health threat; sense of loss; eking it out; inability to meet all demands or to master all situations.

But that's only one factor, of course. And he certainly has the experience, both foreign and domestic. Dodd's status as senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee makes him an enabler if not culpable in what's been going on in America the last several years. He should've known and done better by us and got others to go along. What good is having a Mars-Pluto conj if you can't threaten people to cooperate with you once in a while?

(Okay--you know all Washington politicians are considered culpable around here! They get elected to--or placed in--office in order to be at the top of the heap and "serve" in responsible positions so I let them be responsible--and if that's wrong, I don't wanna be right.)

Now you know that some people say the Peace Corps, instituted by JFK, was an organization created primarily for spying missions. Perhaps so. Well, Chris Dodd joined the Peace Corps in 1966, apparently taking seriously JFK's call to all Americans to be part of something greater than themselves.

(You remember Bush's "call"...go shopping.)

So it was off to the Dominican Republic for young Christopher, then back to join the National Guard and the US Army Reserves. Well, right there he's got it all over George AWOL Bush, doesn't he? Dodd's Mars-Pluto conj shows a person with personal courage who is good in a crisis because he knows how to withhold action until just the right moment (another big fat zero for Bush.)

Mars-Pluto tends to be aggressive toward goals, yet may not want what was desired once it's achieved.

Now wouldn't that be inconvenient if you attained the Oval Office only to find you didn't want it after all?

Hillary abandons her Socks: 2008 deal breaker?

Ouch! Hillary's softer image is clawed over dumped cat is one of the more insidious character attacks you'll want to read. And it uses little Socks, the former White House First Pet, as its amunition while accusing Hillary Clinton of what the article does--cynical and jaded pet use.

Clinton's book, Dear Socks, Dear Buddy: Kids' Letters to the First Pets, will now be trotted out like Buddy's ill-fated romp into the street just after his First Dog tenure ended...thus ending the life of a chocolate lab who deserved better.

Was a vast right paw conspiracy behind Buddy's demise? Was Buddy threatening to bark out about the Clinton years?

Socks, that black'n'white kitty who, said Hillary at the time, caused the White House to finally "become a home" was adopted by Bill's personal secretary, Betty Currie. This may represent abuse, but I doubt it--and I have no report of Socks' current mindset, if any, concerning Hillary's plans to move back into the First Feline's former cushy digs. Rrraorrrwwww!

May I suggest that if Hillary's prez-run results in a W-House reinstallment that she consider a different type of First Pet...perhaps a parrot for practicing the agenda's talking points, or a ferret to aid the secret service and intell community for ferreting out the truth which ran into the street years ago.

Romney campaign self-bankrolling along

Here's a link to the natal chart and details of Mitt Romney who is his own Biggest Campaign Donor in an article from Huff Post.

In past US presidential campaigns, Steve Forbes and Ross Perot spent more millions than Romney has--so far. But can money overcome Mitt's handicaps?

Are Mormons really Christians and is America really ready for that debate?

You'll find more on Mitt Romney from astrologer Lynn Hayes at AstroDynamics.

Inauguration Jan 20, 2009

Such as it is, here is the chart for Inauguration 2009 using Noon EST, Jan 20, Washington DC. Sometimes the public ceremony begins a minute or two after twelve but it makes no discernible difference. My theory about the secret ceremony they hold is that it probably happens when Sun is conjunct US's Capricornian n Pluto (power.) We have Jupiter 3AQ32 in 10th house along with the Sun (as always--it's noon) and in 2009 we have Mercury 00AQ41 Rx and cazimi the Sun (an ancient term for a very close conjunction thought to strengthen the Sun...cazimi, Arabic for "heart of the Sun") this at the least emphasizes the Sun's degree. This Jupiter will soon conjunct US's natal South Node which makes me wonder if we'll be suffering a president from our past (SN)--in a word, George Bush--esp since Jupiter signifies Republicans--or perhaps one who carries on Bush's globalist policies (which include Bush Sr's and others' NWO policies as well.) My own opinion is that the globalist agenda has gone to far to be given up now--they will do what they must to "win" the US presidency again even though cheating isn't "winning," it's stealing what you don't deserve. And with Jupiter nearer MC than the (Democratic) Saturn, a GOP prez is a distinct possibility (barfy as that is to say...and not that I think a Dem prez would make any difference with the NWO ball rolling along as it is. It's Pluto/Chiron's class warfare, baby.) Now you may prefer using "1AQ" for the Sun and Mercury 00AQ+ degree when it comes to Sabian Symbols but I prefer "30Cap" because it seems to apply to the top CEO of America... "30Cap": "A secret business conference"...OPPORTUNITY... pos: a gift for clever planning and successful administration in every area of life; neg/unconscious/shadow side: rampant selfishness and rank exploitation of others. With the 2009 Mercury Rx at the same degree, I think it's correct to say that this is the operative word picture for our learless feader because the Sun represents the leader of a country in a national chart. And the Moon represents The People (and Publicity)--this one at a 29th critical degree. You do know that critical degrees may not be negative necessarily, but a matter which must be dealt with pronto. "29Sco": "An Indian squaw pleading for the lives of her children"... EFFECTIVENESS... pos: personal accomplishment through an exceptional gift for holding first things first; neg: naive willingness to truckle to others. (Truckling to politicians must cease--taking back America is overdue and more critical than anyone can express! This Moon's Symbol indicates to me our military's overextension and the resultant problems for our families as we play the world's police force.) If you click-to-enlarge the chart you'll see a 9th-house Mars at the New World Order's Uranus/Neptune degree of "18Cap" which is the smug or strong-armed paternalism mess the world is mired in...see NWO here. Uranus/Neptune = Mars: misdirected energy; lack of stamina; instability; impatience; nervousness; feeling of foreboding (midpoints pics: Tyl; Ebertin.) The Prenatal Eclipse Series which the 2009 Inauguration falls into is the 10 South Series--you see it in 4th house conjuncting South Node 9Leo20--and 4th house is the Basis of the matter. This PE at 9Leo 32 is conj Republican Party's n Mercury, George Bush's n Mercury, and the n Mercury of Al Gonzales.) See Adriano Carelli's info on the 8, 9, and 10 Leo area of the zodiac. Brady's Predictive Astrology gives this Series as: breaking out of a very negative situation where no hope can be seen; there's an apparent lack of options but then a worry will suddenly clear; the solution must be taken up without too much delay. The PE occurs Aug 1, 2008. Wonder what they have up their tricky sleeves between August 2008 and the Nov election? 10South's last occurrence: July 22, 1990; "30Can": "A Daughter of the American Revolution" (opposite "30Cap" mentioned above)... INHERITANCE: pos: an infectious pride in leadership through which a group is able to act as a unit; neg: the ultimate betrayal of selfhood by a false assumption of superiority. Inaugural Pluto is unaspected and is liable to run away with the chart and thus the 4-year term (this chart is good for the entire 4 years.) Pluto's position is not so good near the 9th cusp yet in the 8th house, plus there is quite a pile-up with Pluto 1Cap57--asteroids: Toro, Morya, and Eros (I will refer to these later on and link back to this chart when I do), plus three midpoints of note: Sun/Moon = Pluto: biased attitude or changed circumstances lead to critical phases in life; separation from others to start anew; a soul torn by inner conflicts; potential new relationship perspectives. Moon/Mercury = Pluto: persuasion or being persuaded; the force of thought; the necessity to adjust one's thinking to new conditions or circumstances; a reorientation of thinking caused by special events or experiences coupled with destiny (Pluto is a very karmic planet.) Moon/Jupiter = Pluto: an extraordinary and unusual striving for possessions and wealth; desire to start great enterprises; the big picture and the power to make it appear. America's natal Pluto 27Cap33 is conjunct Inaugural MC (Goals; Aspirations; WHY Point) which has been the case since the Inauguration was switched from March to January in the 30s...so we get: Sun/MC = n Pluto: very strong drive to fulfill objectives; a violent attainment of one's aims; attaining leadership by use of force; realizing extraordinary plans; a tragic destiny (The Sun/MC midpoint = the Goal; Ambition.) Mercury/MC = n Pluto: pursuit of fanatical aims; excessive ambition (well you'd have to have this to be prez, wouldn't you?); a turn in one's career. Now here are the other midpoint pictures which will form for Inauguration 2009: Jupiter/MC = Sun: striving happily for attainment of aims; optimism; a person who makes the best of life's opportunities; illumination of one's life purpose; recognition and success. Jupiter/MC = Mercury: successful plans; lots of ideas; voluble communications; publishing; far-sightedness; large-scale projects or ventures. Saturn/NN = Moon: qualifying for responsibility; appealing to senior persons; standing alone in life; widows or orphans. Mars/Jupiter = MC: making favorable arrangements; love of enterprise; the excitement of being "on top"; opportunity for success. MC also has the oppressive plutocracy midpoint conjunct it--Pluto/Chiron. That curdles my bippy and puts US plutocracy "out there' for the world to see as America's objective...and US citzens may be seeing it without the rosy glasses we've so loved donning in previous years. Actually the rest of the world has deja-vu'd it long ago...it seems to have taken Bush Jr.'s miserable tenure to make it excruciatingly obvious here in the US. Jupiter/Pluto = Mars: organizing talent; applying controls to suit one's particular purposes; desire to achieve great things. Uranus/MC = Neptune: suppressed anger, paralyzed will; powerlessness; expecting recognition, withdrawal if frustrated. (Neptune here may be representing spies, jihadists, propagandists, spiritualists or religionists, idealists--anyone Neptunian, including governmental types.) ASC/MC = Uranus: excitable and adventurous people; upsets; a spoiling of one's plans. There are two midpoints focusing upon the NN (the path)... Venus/Pluto = NN: meeting people presents a gamble instead of security; a fascinating personality. Neptune/MC = NN: peculiarities; difficult relationships; sharing bad intentions with others; unpleasant associations. There are no patterns formed--no T-Squares, Grand Trines, etc. It's an hour of Saturn, planet of control, responsibility, and fate. And Moon is in an obsessive-compulsive quindecile aspect (165 degress) with the ASC--the Inauguration itself: Moon QD ASC: unpredictable, moody; need for emotions to be recognized; emotional dependency or emotional convictions prominent. There are more factors to consider but I will continue this grump later on for I have a theory that few people read long posts anyway--so if you made it this far, it's kudos for you from me!

Astrology of the presidential candidates

If you're a blogger like me--doing this work to get out info rather than for money--you wonder how to find time to do full justice to Political Astrology (actually called, Mundane Astrology) especially with the upcoming 2008 election vulturing over us.

Some weeks seem to have more blogging time factored into them, other weeks...not so much.

Well, no more fretting is necessary for I've received a communique from someone with a terrific Astrology website which covers the stars--natal and current transits--of both Democratic and Republicanic candidates.

Check out The Strange House as soon as you may!

George hearts Hillary?

From LegitGov.org:

Bush quietly advising Hillary Clinton, top Democrats 24 Sep 2007 President [sic]

Bush is quietly providing back-channel advice to Hillary Rodham Clinton, urging her to modulate her rhetoric so she can effectively prosecute the war in Iraq, if elected president. In an interview for the new book "The Evangelical President," White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten said Bush wants enough continuity in his Iraq policy that "even a Democratic president would be in a position to sustain a legitimate presence there." To that end, the president has been sending advice, mostly through aides, aimed at preventing an abrupt withdrawal from Iraq in the event of a Democratic victory in November 2008. [OMG! Dictator Bush - who can't even sustain a 'legitimate presence' in the White House --is giving advice on sustaining a 'legitimate presence' in Iraq?! --LRP]#

It would be hillary-arious if it weren't so imperialistic. If legitimacy is Bush's strong suit, it's that old emperor's clothes fairytale his administration began with in 2000.

Rudy Guiliani May 28, 1944

Born in Brooklyn, NY, May 28, 1944, the Sun arose for Guiliani that day at 6Gem55 with the Moon clocking in at 19Leo23--conjunct Jupiter (Geo Bush has an expansive Moon/Jupiter conj natally in Libra.)

Since the Moon was in Leo for the 24 hours of his birthdate, we may use Sun Gem/Moon Leo for his personality blend, a blend shared by poet Walt Whitman: "I celebrate myself; I sing myself." Seems appropriate.

Sun Gem/Moon Leo (Air-Fire = a "live wire" full of exciting ideas and the ability to communicate them with zeal and enthusiasm; taken to the extreme Air-Fire = bombast, bluster, and a tendency to be carried away by own rhetoric and eloquence; has charisma and joie de vivre; with Airy Sun and Firey Moon: the effect of a hot-air balloon; a Utopian idealist seeing ever more distant sunny shores; may ride on a moralistic high horse):

This combo indicates one who is a colorful conversationalist and storyteller, convivial with a childlike sense of fun, and a good dramatist. He's good at improvisation, generous, and intellectual and he embodies the eternal child (Gem = the puer) whose fantasies of royal blood (Queen E knighted him for helping with 9/11--in precisely what capacity I do not know) ensure a confident social performance.

This blend assumes its natural right to be exactly who he is: astute and somewhat mischievous. A flair for self-dramatization may be behind his recent "phone calls from the wife" schtick which weirded out so many people during recent speeches (including his important you-can-vote-for-me speech to the NRA!)

There is a rebellious streak here as well and a fussiness which may turn up in the love life. This is a strong but not overbearing personality interested in a wide variety of human perspectives (can this trait cause the dreaded flip-flopping?)

Guiliani is a natural salesperson and "ideas person" who doesn't like to be pigeonholed (who does? unless they're a pigeon), and when it comes to big issues he tends to argue with a sense of impassioned authority.

Yes, Rudolph can be a true inspiration to others (through communication at least.)

Greatest Weaknesses: haughtiness and stubbornness which surface when feeling unappreciated; energies put into excessive socializing which keeps abilities from being fully developed; the need for flattery and for holding center-stage.

Image for Integration (Sun = conscious mind, Moon = unconscious mind--and blending them makes a whole, self-aware person):

A king holds court and surprises his audience by joining the mandolin player in a duet of song and story.

With Moon in Leo, RG's reigning need is for approval, recognition, and applause, all of which the game of politics seems to have supplied him with in abundance, with fake phone calls as part of the act.

So if you click to enlarge his natal (sunrise) chart, you'll see that all planets lie within 12Taurus--2Libra. A bowl pattern is formed which looks a bit unbalanced, doesn't it? It certainly concentrates his energies into an all-about-me view--same for George Bush's natal chart and Leonine psyche. Yet somehow I wonder if Guiliani's concentration of planets is at least partially on the partnership side of his natal chart?

With 'working class' heritage from his parents, he could have Virgo rising, couldn't he? And that would give him a very full Public hemispheric emphasis, if so.

Yet the 'empty' signs and degrees--from 3Libra through 11Taurus--have midpoints, asteroids, and South Node within them. This *blog is not written to teach Astrology (although I can't prevent it if a smidge accidentally filters though) so let's stick with a few basic things about former NYC mayor Guiliani. Besides, there are plenty of Astrology tutorials online, if you wish to study them!

Such as: his Pre-natal Eclipse Series (PE):

Occurring prior to his birth on Jan 25, 1944, this is the 18South Series which Brady's Predictive Astrology gives as:

endings, separations, and partings which could bring grief and anguish, yet these separations bring new situations and encounters which lead to positive outcomes.

This is the PE of Marilyn Monroe, btw.

The 18S Series last manifested Feb 2, 1998--during his marriage to Donna, wife #2. Its next occurrence: March 19, 2016. (Perhaps current wife Judith should be told?)

In youth Rudy considered the priesthood y'know, but it seems the romantic lay-dees won out! But can Rudy win the presidential sweepstakes in 2008?

Transit Mars has been visitng his natal Saturn, planet or authority and responsibility. This is a time of becoming more focused and organized. It's a time for careful planning. There may be dental work or minor surgery, colds or flu and obstacles encountered now are usually found to be of one's own making.

There is hurrying flavor to this transit with a touch of rebellion against the rules. Yet greater credence may be given to age or experience before taking action--it's a good time to ask advice from one's mentors.

And tr Midas has been hanging about with his Sun/Uranus conj in Gemini and possibly bankrolling his progressive political inclinations. Sun conj Uramus is free-wheeling, willful, and arrogant with its bad self. (Oops--was that a smidge of Astrology leaking through? Sorry!)

This pairing is intolerant of tradition and the social limitations that result from it--hence his three marriages, one may suppose; and Sun conj Uranus supports the "live-wire" quality already mentioned. Politics is a perfect career for a Sun/Uranus individuals, but a stable relationship is a must for keeping the natural eccentricity tamped down to acceptable-in-society levels.

Well, Hillary Rodham Clinton certainly sounded and looked presidential on the Sunday political programs yesterday, so I'd say that jolly Guiliani has a lot of issues to become more serious and better informed about asap--because empty bombast and amusing stories won't be enough--and the usual political dirty tricks have become such a bore.

Sun/Moon info from Sun Sign, Moon Sign, Charles and Suzy Harvey.

* This blog is written to make comments about politics and varminty politicians by use of Astrology. Shameless, I know. But so are the pocket-liners.

Mike Huckabee as president: some concerns

This post is actually being written Dec 30, 2007 as a link for Dec 30's post: Spotlight on Mercury: Mike Huckabee:

2008 candidate Mike Huckabee (Aug 24, 1955; Hope, Arkansas, birth time unknown, using sunrise 5:46:19 am CST) has a few chart factors which may be of concern given his mild manner. Is the dove really a hawk in disguise?

It has often been a wonder to me as a Christian that 'evangelicals' and other Christians seem to think that preachers belong in the White House...that church + state is a dandy idea which would solve all society's problems. Personally it sounds like the Roman state's melding with the papacy centuries ago, and does not support the traditional American ideal of their separation.

It was an excellent idea then, it's an excellent idea now.

One midpoint picture of particular concern in Mike Huckabee's natal chart (and what I discuss here will not be affected by lack of a correct birth time) is this:

Pluto/NN = Neptune: power of the half-truth; deception as a tool; win at any cost; attainment of success by use of lies and fraud.

Now it's true that we are born with chart conditions which we may never implement in our entire lives--sometimes the opportunity never arrives or we are unaware of them.

Yet it's true that somehow Huckabee has shown tremendous drive and determination toward success on the national--and now on the world--stage. His rise in politics is no accident but part of a long-term plan, as it could be for anyone with a ruling passion and a passion for ruling.

But there's more involving nebulous, often deceptive Neptune...

Mars/NN = Neptune: anti-social conduct; self-absorption within a group, either charismatic or off-putting; falsehood; disappointmets.

Venus/NN = Neptune: shyness; falsehood; disappointments; hopeless relationships.

Then there's the powerful midpoint of Sun (life purpose; essence) and Pluto...

Sun/Pluto = Mars: desire to perform record achievements; ruthlessness; overtaxing one's powers; strenuous self-application; carving new life perspectives; enormous drive.

And...

Sun/Uranus = Jupiter: a successful reformer or inventor; good understanding; rewards for innovation; surprise and success; ego recognition.

Funny but I was taught that Christians should keep their egos in check, not show them off on TV!

Since he's a minister of faith, we may want to have a peek at Chiron in his chart--Chiron as the Christ archetype, the Key, the Wounded Healer, and the Blindspot's Crisis...ruler of mystical experiences who says to us: be here now.

With Chiron in Aquarius there is a crisis of being grounded and existing on the earthly plane. This is an electrical placement for Chiron and Huckabee's aspects indicate electrical healing abilities. Yet his discipline must come from other chart factors (Mercury in Virgo sextile Saturn in Scorpio) to be effectively used so that the "airhead" quality of an Aquarian Chiron may be successfully directed.

(If Huckabee should inhabit the Oval Office, we'll have chances to find out if his airhead tendencies are in evidence or not, because we've had gracious plenty helpings of the mind-over-matter type of pie-in-the-sky already, thanks, much to our nation's detriment. And with Moon in Scorpio square Pluto, he may be quite unconscious of his true motivations toward power-grabbing.)

Aspects to Chiron...

Sun quincunx (inconjunct = 150 degrees) Chiron: a double quincunx effect--like a loaded stick of dynamite; cannot rest until the higher self is manifested on earth; driven to spiritualize the planet. (Uh oh. This could sound like dreams of ushering in Armageddon.) This is a tough aspect which instills a rigidity about destiny and thus, a difficult personal life (Chiron, Barbara Hand Clow.)

Since his natal Sun is in Virgo, ruled by Mercury, and Mercury in Virgo is sextile Saturn, the traditional ruler of Chiron's sign, AQ, he has been able to contain and more easily direct this power toward his own benefit.

Mercury sesquisquare (135 degr) Chiron: this aspect works as a 'weak' square (if ther eis such a thing!) and so it relates to developmental tension. It indicates powerful connections with others which manifest in a constructive or a conflicting way. Since it is separating (waxing) there is a release of self through creative interchanges (The Astrology of Relationship, Michael R. Meyer.)

It's true that Mercury SQUARE Chiron gives a strong and exacting mind, but also indicates extreme opinions (Clow.)

Uranus opposite Chiron: this aspect is of ferocious intensity which either burns out its possessor or pushes him to great transmutative heights. Electrical healing ability is present, yet there is a stessed out feeling that everything's too much, at times. Drug-taking and air flights are dangerous when this aspect is being triggered, and there is a tendency toward viral infections and other immune system issues (Clow.)

Neptune square Chiron: this aspect is very stressful and is best utilized within the career (Christian minister); life will always be mystical with this aspect, and shows an inability to be "just ordinary" so why even try? Gifts to mankind are great with Neptune SQ Chiron and this energy must be used on that level or there is a tendency toward substance abuse and/or deceptive practices...this is the higher consciousness serving aspect.

Last but not least, Chiron is a catalytic planet similar in that way to Mercury, and Huckabee's Chiron is quincunx powerful Pluto: a karmic aspect which may be blocked until the death of the parent related to natal Pluto--then the peer group may be joined; there's a naggingly constant drive to find the deepest level of meaning in any situation, and to explore the Underworld of Pluto.

It is the last point which I believe may relate most directly to my first concern of Huckabee's meeting-the-powerful Pluto/NN = deceptive Neptune.

There are more interesting chart factors, but suffice it to say: I do not think we see all of this complex man so seemingly mild-mannered, and who has not--nor would anyone expect of him, given these Chiron aspects--given up his proselytizing as he struggles along the campaign road to the earthly halls of power in Washington DC.

A Christian in the White House? Now THAT would aggravate an already crisis-ridden, religiously conflicted world.

Within the 24 hours of Huckabee's day of birth, Sun stayed in Virgo, Moon remained in Scorpio and I think you'll find that his Images for Integration (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Chas & Suzi Harvey) are very descriptive...

a few astro-notes on Barack Obama

In answer to a reader's query, no! I have not done a full post on the natal chart of Barack Obama. Without a birth time it didn't seem prudent. If I find an accurate time for him I would be pleased to expand.

But here are the few notes done so far on his possible Sun-Moon blend/s depending on which of two signs the Moon was in during the 24 hours of his birth date.

The Great Equalizer = 24 hours in a day. That's all anyone has no matter how 'they' fiddle with time zones or monkey with calendars!

Mitt Romney March 12, 1947

While listening to NPR this morning I learned that some pigs love Oreo cookies, and that Mitt Romney won Iowa's straw poll with 31% of the 14,000 votes cast, as near as their fuzzy math can count.

And while one could say that the lipstick on this pig has been masterfully
applied so far, it's too soon to say whether Romney's brand of charismatic leadership will fly considering his religious heritage and any future problems that may turn up concerning his past.

Where do we see these issues in his natal (sunrise) chart?

One major aspect pattern is the Fixed T-square between Venus opposite Pluto with Chiron (the wound; the blindspot) as apex planet (or planetoid, if you like.)

Chiron is in Scorpio, sign of sex, death, and regeneration and in this Solar or Sunrise chart--good for ego/creative/life purpose information--Chiron is in the mystical 8th house, as are Moon 26Sco08 conjunct moneybags Jupiter 27Sco33. As you know, Scorpio is also the sign of big business and deep pockets.

Chiron in Scorpio shows a need for forgiving the unforgiveable, and adds an occultist flavor to the personality. But if the lower side of Pluto is prominent, a search for pleasure and for power at the cost of others is found.

Born March 12, 1947, Romney is very Piscean which makes him interested in mysticism (perhaps as part of his LDS Church and/or of the unusual groups to which he belongs or associates--and oddly enough, the sign of the fishes seems to birth military generals more often than most people would expect.)

There are several indications of leadership ability in his chart, and of being in contact with the collective unconscious, also a Piscean talent. This is a Watery, intuitive, creative guy, who perhaps is not always aware of his deeper motivations.

The Venus/Pluto opposition gives him charisma and a need to compromise as well as to control. Mom was on the overpowering side and has affected his views of women (anima)...so there may be resentment against females...compliments of mom's obsessive control of little Mitt.

This opposition may result in marriages where role-playing is prominent and shows some confusion with the mythic mother archetype. Control games are typical of this aspect which also is involved in aquiring great wealth--a form of control as well.

Whatever the situation in Romney's relationships, he tends to make excessive demands on partners, and in work situations, strong emotions may interfere with goals. His manipulative Saturn/Pluto conj opposes a detached Venus in AQ...not a good combo for personal relationships perhaps, but may show his money-infused corporate side which is bolstered by Sun conj Cupido, an asteroid relating to family, groups, and corporations.

For the 2008 election, the tr Venus/Pluto midpoint will conj this Solar MC which may mean an affair breaking open to public view. If Romney has any secret fillies or geldings in his stable, he should come clean well before Nov 2008--or this could simply refer to his polygamous heritage.

Relational/values-oriented Venus is linked with another transpersonal planet bwo a trine to Neptune, an imaginative planet of confusion, deception, and veils.

Venus trine Neptune gives a refined nature when it comes to the arts (compliments of mom again), and may tend toward a show of kindness and generosity to others even when they dissappoint. It's helpful with public relations as Neptune gives him a pleasant screen on which to cast an image suitable for entrancing the public.

But negative elements in the environment must be handled by other factors in the chart/nature, for Venus/Neptune trines tend to look the other way. They indicate a need for spiritual development plus, his Venus/Pluto square Chiron shows that sex, death, regeneration, and mysticism play big parts in his nature.

Venus SQ Chiron shows maximum stress between finding a value system that will enhance spirtuality. There may be difficulties in the socialization process and heavy-duty karmic pressure within the sexual realm. (Chiron, Clow, who mentions problems with gender identity--he is cute as a bunny button--to both genders, one imagines!)

But I tend to suppose that this reap-what's-sown karmic sexual stuff comes more from his religious/polygamous background, don't you? But I would since I see heredity where others may see past lives.

Pluto SQ Chiron indicates the Seeker (Chiron) who is conscious of the shape and direction of the archetypal urge to prepare the way and to warn the unwary. He willingly takes on the Quest of struggle against the status quo (uh oh--not another one. This info comes from Richard Nolle's Chiron.)

Let's 'do' the *Sun/Moon personality blend/s...misty, tearful Sun Pis/Moon Sco (but may be ultra-rational in a male) if he was born before 2:34 pm...after that, Moon in Sagittarius...so he's either emotional Water/Water or steamy Water/Fire:

Sun Pis/Moon Sco: psychologically insightful; strong in adversity; embraces the comic and tragic together; self-sacrifice vs self-control...

...jumps to emotionally-charged conclusions; feels misunderstood; innate ability to understand deep mysteries; complex emotional nature; tenacious; courageous; unaware of persistent prejudices and irrational suspicions; relies too heavily on personal opinions; negative self-absorption; may prefer own company.

Images for Integration: Longfellow's The Secret of the Sea...Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath. (This is Longfellow's and Steinbeck's natal Sun/Mon blend which is shared with Beatle George Harrison, Johnny Cash, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Elizabeth Taylor.)

Sun Pis/Moon Sag: far-ranging imagination; seeker of truth; affectionate and friendly; resilient; strong social awareness; philospophical mind; generous and gentle; deep self-confidence; spiritual but may avoid organized religious practice; has an imaginative inner world; humility + nobility; a generous judge of others' weaknesses...

...endearing naivety; emotionalizes moral issues; misplaced enthusiasms; prone to exaggeration, carelessness, and lack of concentration; 'tries' to be all things to all people (a politician!--so that's 'pretends' to be--jc); grandiosity and self-deception (other useful political traits--jc.)

Images for Integration: A black woman priest in the confessional hears a tale of woe form a white converted scientist, and they fall in love...Einstein's Theory of Relativity. (This is Einstein's natal Sun/Moon blend.)

Romney's Prenatal Eclipse is in the 2 South Series which manifested prior to his birth on Nov 23, 1946, 00Sag50. The **Sabian Symbol for "1Sag" is the one I so often use for Pentagon/war/chickenhawk issues...

"1Sag"..."A Grand Army of the Republic campfire"...REMINISCENCE...

pos: accomplishment through the cultivation and preservation of enduring ties with others;

neg/shadow or unconscious side: superficial idleness and unhealthy veneration for the past (Mormonism? Other?--jc.)

From Rose Lineman's Your Prenatal Eclipse, we find that a PE in Sagittarius is associated with the search for ultimate truths (supported by several factors mentioned above--jc), and the gaining of spiritual wisdom.

Motivations stem from moral concepts and/or religious convictions that are holdovers from the past, and which may not be spirtually correct. Karmic endeavors based upon misplaced idealism or misguided beliefs are ineffective, and the resultant exaggerated efforts tend to overshoot the mark. Fake optimism causes underestimation of karmic situations and efforts may fall short.

The Sag PE brings karmic relationships with grandchildren or in-laws, and draws the native toward organized religious practices (which counters the above-mentioned Sun Pis/Moon Sag details. Maybe he has a Scorpio Moon! It would jive with the mother control issues, wouldn't it?)

In Brady's Predictive Astrology we find more Eclipse info:

2 South: feeling that a great deal may be gained by associating with or joining unusual groups.

This Series last manifested Dec 25, 2000 at 4Cap14, and is the same PE Series as Woodrow Wilson, who was a Freemason. And Romney has a 12-degree orb 'conjunction' between Uranus and North Node, an indicator of radical reformist political groups. As you know, Bush has a close conj of rebellious, disruptive Uranus with NN, also in Gemini, sign of the bringer of tidings. "Warning the unwary" indeed.

Well, there's a small portrait of Mitt Romney for you--although somewhat out-of-focus due to an unknown birth time. The portrait does describe charismatic Mitt, but is not as focused as it could be.

However, I have a sneaking suspicion there will be more to add later on about this complex Piscean politician, don't you? So let me know if you find an accurate birth time for him--I'd be interested!

Saturn in Virgo for the 2008 US election

Will the repairing of America be on the next president's agenda?

Although I've been studying the charts for the 2008 Election, I haven't prepared a post for publishing as of yet. So I keep an eye out for any articles by my esteemed colleagues who have come to a conclusion or two on the subject.

One such article from today by Philip Brown at AstroFutureTrends is Thoughts on Saturn in Virgo and the 2008 Election where Philip relates the upcoming visit of Saturn to the modest, fix-it sign of Virgo during the presidential election cycle--a definite must-read!

Ron Paul Aug 20, 1935

Using the Solar (sunrise) chart we may find much information on Libertarian Ron Paul even without a known birth time. And since the Moon was in Taurus through the 24 hours of Aug 20, 1935, we may use Sun Leo/Moon Taurus for his personality blend--a good place to start.

One of the greatest strengths of Sun Leo/Moon Taurus is having an emotional and moral commitment to goals and ideals. There is staying power with this combo and a capacity for hard work, plus an ability to think big. (His Jupiter/Neptune sextile supports his 'thinking big' ability, but adds sensitivity to criticism and a need for recognition.)

There is generosity, egocentricity, stubbornness, and a love of grandeur...but also great administrative talent which is admirably echoed by Mars trine Saturn.

He is an essentially positive and dependable person, and unflappable in a crisis--excellent traits for doctor or politician.

Greatest weaknesses would be an intense, biased subjectivity, and a tendency to be overly proud, inflexible, and selfish when offended. He may at times speak out scathingly when diplomacy would have been the better course. (Sun Sign, Moon Sign, Charles and Suzy Harvey.)

Paul's Sun-Moon phase is Disseminating--he's a great teacher who loves to share what he's learned, and he communicates well. This is the crusader for a cause who may drift toward fanaticism.

In the Solar chart shown, Moon has not yet squared the Sun, but she will before Aug 20 ends and if so, we have a Sun/Moon square here.

Sun square Moon is the will blocked by the desires resulting in defensiveness and emotional insecurity. Yet much may be accomplished if the ego can be set aside...maturity aids in this.

A square between the luminaries tends toward a fighting spirit for there's a misalignment between what's wanted and what one is willing to do to get it. A lack of compromising ability may be in evidence yet I'm not convinced this is the case with Ron Paul whose moral integrity is mentioned above with Moon in stubborn Taurus and Sun in approval-seeking, royally-entitled Leo.

And if Moon is opposite Mars, the personality is outgoing but may be quite aggressive with a tendency for the tongue to speak out before the brain is engaged. Criticism is deeply resented with Moon opposite Mars...touchy feelings!

So is Paul a stubborn cuss? Probably so. He is a politician seeking recognition, after all, and staying power is the upside of stubborness.

If his Sun and Moon are squared, he may be constantly at odds with important people--now that sounds about right considering his voting record!

"Dr. No" has voted against anything that he believes violates the US Constitution (so I'm guessin' he didn't vote for George Bush!)

Paul has never voted to raise taxes or congressional pay, and refuses to participate in Congress' cushy pension plan. He would like the federal government out of education (agreed--just look at how that's turned out), and he doesn't take "junkets" on the taxpayers' dime. He also thinks that Roe v Wade should be overturned. Being a doctor, Paul obviously has informed views on this subject from a medical standpoint.

Very impressive, although I'm not sure about overturning Roe v. Wade--my deepest feelings have always been that Congress doesn't belong in a doctor's examination room--and that abortion used as birth control is the real problem. But enough about me--let's see what else we can see about Ron Paul...

How about Pluto conjunct South Node (SN)?

This interesting aspect gives a will that is out of step with prevailing social trends (his voting record and Libertarianism), and may indicate that he initiates things at the wrong time and place which causes resentment and misunderstanding from others. Yet it also gives great resourcefulness and self-reliance along with the capacity to weather many hardships when necessary.

The doctor has Chiron in Gemini:

As a doctor with Chiron, the Healer, in Gemini, this placement gives him an ability to feel where the electrical energy is flowing in the body, and makes him highly attuned to mass consciousness. The keyword for Chiron in Gemini is: awareness.

Paul has much nervous energy and must take regular rest breaks if he is not to burn out, hard worker though he is. Chiron in Gemini intrinsically understands that how we think creates the reality in which we live--and that this can be changed. (Chiron, B. H. Clow.) Born during Nazism and atomic experimentation, Paul has an imperative to communicate many truths concerning his parents' generation.

Recently, transiting Mars opposed Paul's n Mars (the head-against-a-brick-wall transit) and also opposed his n Jupiter--when we tend to let others make inflated assumptions about us.

Grandstanding and bravura (which Leo loves anyway!) may have been the order of the day, but with a natal Mars/Jupiter conj, he is fearless in the face of danger, and enjoys direct confrontations. Paul never doubts he will succeed--we saw this aspect in action when he was interviewed recently by George Stephanopolous who basically told him he couldn't win the nomination. Paul was not impressed by the diss--and yet there may have been a flicker of hurt feelings.)

Mars conj Jupiter gives physical stamina which helps with all that nervous energy tiring him out (mentioned above.) This aspect is shared natally by some famous people. Exs: Hugh Hefner (Mr. Stamina?), Yoko Ono, John F. Kennedy (who kept going even with major back pain), Ray Charles, and Wayne Newton.

You may notice that transit Saturn will conj natal Sun during the first half of August which can bring an increase in responsibilities and authority as one's maturity and wisdom are being tested. Yet there may be resentment toward those who restrict or deny one's progress--or more recognition for longterm efforts.

Bush has been having this transit for while now (due to Saturn's retrogradation) and this may have affected his health (ex: last Saturday's colonoscopy)--so Paul may have to slow down himself or his vitality (Sun) may suffer.

To close, here are the Sun/Moon personality blend 'word pictures' aka Images for Integration:

Old King Cole was a merry old soul...Pygmalion/My Fair Lady...A master potter turns dull clay into an exquisite vase.

The dull clay that America has become in recent years could use some turning, and if we want real change (while still upholding our Constitution) Ron Paul may be just the ticket...if he can get on the ticket.

This from GoreHub.com:

Express yourself if you want to see a Gore presidential run!
