Capricorn season 2011? Pass the Twinkies! And explain the dead birds

Today I've pretty much been hibernating and reading, partly due to the snow and ice still on the lawn and bitter cold in the forecast, partly from recent shocking events which my natal Moon in Pisces often absorbs a little too deeply. Regular breaks from Politics are needed to maintain (or attain?) emotional health and sanity, as most people agree.

Yet I've not been wholly inactive and have spent some lovely time visiting CJ Wright's Auntie Moon blog where her wonderful post Tea Time: In the Brambles with Capricorn lists the perfect things to soothe the energies of Capricorn. Maybe my staid Capricorn Sun helps balance a sympathetic Pisces Moon for Saturn does rule boundaries, and sometimes barriers must be put up in order to counteract the craziness of Politics.

In her article, CJ lists foods and teas that are good for us during the wintry Capricorn season, not just for those with Cap's Saturnian energy prominent in their charts for everyone has the sign Capricorn somewhere in their horoscopes. Plus, the winter season makes for lots of Capricorn energy all around us so a steaming cup of Blackberry Tea (with a Twinkie on the side?) can't far go wrong.

(Now what does a Twinkie have to do with Capricorn? See CJ's article!)

Then, thanks to visiting Auntie Moon, I have discovered an informative page CJ links to with Moon Names listed for various cultures. Check it out for it's very interesting to compare lunation monikers around the world.

And if you wish to be updated on the recent mysterious bird and animal deaths, tune in to the Thom Hartmann Show tomorrow, January 12, 2011, for he just gave a topic shout-out to his next broadcast as today's program ended. I watch this excellent progressive show on Free Speech TV and LINK TV (DishNetwork satellite.)

Did you know that Senator Bernie Sanders is a guest on Thom's show on Fridays?

Okay, that's about it for now. Hope you're staying snug and keeping well this winter season - and be sure to feed your Capricorn to avoid its Saturnian grumpiness! Jude

A New Year and the natal chart of Barack Obama

In this, my last post to you until after the New Year, I pass the astro-baton to expert astrologer Donna Cunningham and her article on New Year's intentions (rather than resolutions), hot zones in horoscopes, transits to these important degree areas, and the natal chart of President Obama (displayed.)

Now Donna's New Year offering is but one of the many instructive articles to be found on her SkyWriter blog so check it out and stay a while, if you can!

Signing off and hoping to see you in the New Year!

112th Congress Jan 5, 2011 @ noon w secret plans of the GOP

The GOP has a secret plan brewing to push states to declare bankruptcy and to smash unions and we will begin to see a ramping up of such unAmerican tactics implemented come January 5, 2011 when the 112th Congress convenes, teabaggers and all.

Check out some astro-info on Mitch McConnell now published by Alex Da-Atria writing from budget-strapped California and displaying my own version of a natal horoscope for Mitch McConnell. (I might have marked the chart less messily if I'd known it would be published elsewhere! Or not. Artists are a little messy, what can I say?)

112th Congress Natal Horoscope

A quick peek at the 112th Congress horoscope for January 5, 2011 @ 12 noon est, Capitol Building, shows 21Ari19 rising with *US natal Chiron and 11Cap54 at Midheaven. A 10th house Moon (we-the-people, but also publicity) @ 00AQ27 precisely conjoins US Inaugural Sun (the leader) with Moon ruling 4th house of Domestic Scene.

At IC, the Foundation and HOW? Point of any chart, is '12 Cancer' = "A Chinese Woman Nursing a Baby with a Message" - a Sabian Symbol often noted for its reference to Christ or to the Dalai Lama. But in Washington DC? It relates more closely, imho, to our nation's biggest debt-holder, China, who undoubtedly sends the US Congress messages all the time on how they're doing and what to do next.

This chart and congressional session puts all US natal Cancer planets at the Foundation with our natal Pluto 27Cap33 Rx at top where the whole world can 'see' and fear it. (I first typed 'despise' but changed it to 'fear'.)

Snugged around Mc is Sun 15Cap00 and tr Pluto 5Cap30 so we have a midpoint picture which affects and reveals the Goals and Aspirations (Mc) of the 112th Congress; this chart (unless they convene at a different hour than the 'noon' I've seen stated so far) is in effect for the entire session of the 112th...its natal chart.

Sun/Pluto = Mc: striving for power; consciousness of purpose or objective (to see Obama fail? jc); vocational crisis; changes to adopt new perspectives; power games with important consequences.

Also at Mc are three other midpoints...

Venus/Neptune = Mc: lost in illusions; Mars/NN = Mc: teamwork; and Moon/Mercury = Mc: independent thinking; making professional decisions. (Tyl; Ebertin.)

Chart-ruler Mars 22Cap01 in 10th house, makes only one applying aspect: the testosterone-laden one's conjunction with the Sun (7A01) which occurs on Feb 4, 2011 @ 15AQ31. '16AQ' = "A Big Businessman at His Desk": ACCOMPLISHMENT...

positive expression: effective self-realization through achievement of consequence;

negative/unconscious/shadow side: ambitious superficiality.

(The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Marc Edmund Jones.)

Well, many more factors are of interest in 112th's natal horoscope including opposing transits to the US planetary line-up in Cancer, but Georgia is under a storm watch so I must shut down for now and talk to ya later for I have a deep and healthy respect for Uranian lightening!

*US natal Chiron 20Ari08 in 4th house of the US Sibly chart: Chiron in the sign of the Pioneer and Explorer, Aries, indicates that a search for identity is paramount for the US. This tallies well with America's fight for independence from Great Britain and shows the life and death conditions at our nation's founding. Chiron in Aries is 'the trailblazer' with courage, restlessness, and idealism highlighted (Clow.)

In more recent years, Chiron has traversed Aries off and on (due to retrogression) in 1918/19 and 1926/27, and 1968/69 and 1976/77 which gave the US Chiron Returns to figure out who she is...that the American people often have trouble understanding just who our nation is (democracy? republic? oligrachy? Roman Empire revisited?) has become a major problem for many who are deeply concerned about our nation's current trajectory which has been a long time forming (often behind closed doors and in secret chambers.)

You'll find more such topics detailed in my article American Empire: When Jupiter Bowed to the Sun published recently in the Fall 2010 issue of Julie Demboski's Eclipse e-zine which covers November 2010 through January 2011.

Our nation's next Chiron Return will occur 3 times in the years 2024/25.

A 4th house Chiron echoes a similar Arien theme since 4th house concerns 'roots' and heritage and who we really are - our psychological roots. A 4th house Chiron indicates a need for deep connections with our true identity in order to heal. There is a wounding of The Tree of Life (4th h) with this position which points to Ecology and the wounding of our environment. One might say that the 'settling' of America involved much damage to our natural environment and the wounding continues as corporations have put profits above protections for so long that we are forced onto the verge of terracide.

This is a nervous, brooding, and intense house placement for the Wounded Healer and adds to the world's view of America as a land of selfish, resource-wasting belly button gazers; the idea that climate change problems and emissions reductions must be led by America's example may also be attributed in part to our national Chiron in natal 4th house - in Aries, the me-first sign.

Winter Solstice 2010 Horoscope

Fresh from the December 21, 2010 Lunar Eclipse, this year's Winter Solstice Moon in 12th house clocks in at 8Can13 as the Sun reaches 00Cap00:00. In Washington DC on Dec 21, 2010, the annual solar event occurs at 6:38:22 pm est with 24Can21 rising which brings up America's natal Mercury Rx opposing natal Pluto 27Cap33 Rx (US planets are notated outside the chart; please click to enlarge.)

It's an Hour of Jupiter 25Pis20 conjunct Uranus 26Pis47, both now moving directly and in the Winter Solstice's 9th house. Chart-ruler Moon applies to three aspects:

1. Moon square Mc 8Ari41 (0A28);
2. Moon opposite Mars (2A27);
3. Moon trine Venus (6A14.)

Moon square MC indicates domestic and career problems which jeopardize public reputations; Moon oppo Mars indicates irrational actions, impatience, overspending, quarrels, and potential criminal activity; Moon trine Venus describes harmony, empathy, and pleasant conditions, especially for women, artists, and musicians.

Therefore, at least some difficult conditions at the start of Winter season 2010 may improve before Spring 2011 - I hope so!

Perhaps the Moon/South Node contact in 12th house should be mentioned for it shows separations, bad timing due to difficult circumstances (ex: being too late for a job interview because car is too expensive to repair and the bus runs late, etc), isolation that leads to depression, and a feeling of 'being alone against the world'. Yet with concentrated effort and strength of character, adversity will be met with courage and determination - plow on through, m'peops!

But yes, Moon/SN points to karmic conditions (past behaviors that no longer bring good results) as does the Moon's position in the karmic 12th house for the Winter season. Hospitals and other large institutions experience fluctuating conditions with Moon in 12th house, and certainly chronic health issues of the people (Moon) are triggered. US natal Mars conjoins 12th cusp 22Gem10 showing a karmic undoing relating to males in general, but specifically to police and military forces; plus, warring Mars rules Midheaven, the Aspiration Point of any chart.

As you see, 8th house of Debt and Shared Resources contains the ongoing, when-will-it-ever-end duo of wounding Chiron and nebulous Neptune still sitting astride US natal Moon (we-the-people) so we may expect the Neptunian onslaught of fraud, floods, toxins, homelessness, debts, and mortgage issues to continue into 2011.

In 4th house, the Foundation of the chart, we see Saturn 16Lib08 in process of our US Saturn Return (14Lib48) when chickens come home to roost and accountability must be faced. Perhaps bank managers (Saturn) will be facing hard questions about their robo-signing habits and other legal abnormalities in the foreclosure process. Plus, in 4th house, Saturn may indicate mining accidents or issues, and real estate delays and losses...Saturnian conditions in the homeland with Saturn ruling 8th house (co-ruled by disruptive Uranus bwo Aquarius.)

Yet Venus 14Sco27 (sign of Big Business and Surveillance) is in 4th house as well and conjoins US Inaugural Descendant showing foreign or hidden evaluations and relationships which (since chart-ruler Moon trines Venus) may bring some relief to our housing woes (Venus rules Ic) - or bring us the 'slippery slope' a trine may so easily provide.

Mercury 25Sag25 Rx in 6th house is the ruler (dispositor) of US natal Mars and may show preparations for troop movements (6th house = police and military service as well as Health and Work.)

Sun 00Cap00:00 is apex in two midpoint combinations of energies:

Mercury/Pluto = Sun: a persuasive speaker; communication skills; keen observations; prudence and vision; a desire for recognition; championing an idea or attitude that prevails; determination to use force to obtain or locate information; enhanced authority or prestige among people who control important information or news.

Mercury/NN = Sun: added focus on the effectiveness and importance of the message presented; well-coordinated personal ventures; a life philosophy; urge to exchange ideas with others.

Now obviously, the Mercury/NN combo has to do with meetings where discussions take place, also with discussions involving young people, reporters, traders, etc - any and all mercurial implications are being encountered. But a note may be of interest concerning the Mercury/Pluto combo and Michael Munkasey (Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets) is very helpful on the topic - since Mercury/Pluto points toward the Winter Solstice Sun, and America's natal Mercury/Pluto opposition is emphasized by appearing on the ASC/DESC axis of this horoscope.

In Politics and Business, Mercury/Pluto relates to: high security and intelligence activities; political talk which offers abrupt changes to some functions; communications satellites; news of space exploration; orbital weapons or toxic gases; secrets of the business community or transportation systems; breakdowns in road networks; self-destructive impulses in business.

Ebertin gives Mercury/Pluto as: persons guilty of fraudulent representation or misrepresentation in speaking or writing; plagiarists or demagogues; sharp critics, and crafty people. Overestimation of self, propagandists, and spies are also indicated by Mercury/Pluto, and their opposition shows a condition where researchers work on secret projects and dangerous information must be dealt with.

North Node 2Cap44 is apex point in two midpoint pictures...

Sun/Pluto = NN: fateful associations; separations; a lack of adaptability (in Washington?!!); meeting the powerful; very special new attachments; other people inspire development of a stronger will or purpose.

Mercury/Mars = NN: quarrels within a community; the realization of thoughts in tandem with others; expressing or teaching competitive practices; acquaintances who have an irritating style of speech.

So how about the T-Squares formed, all with the Moon as one 'leg'? Moon/Mars appears on Mc, the others opposite Mc:

Moon/Mars = Mc: a forceful and purposeful nature (possibly a woman); upright behavior; spiritual relationships; self-promotion; getting things off the ground.

Moon/Pluto = Mc: one-sided emotional intensity; remaining alone and never acting in accord with others; a highly strained emotional life; successfully handling the moods of others.

Moon/NN = Mc: success through allying with those who share your goals; being recognized by influential people; soul unions or emotionally intense relationships.

Well, Mars 10Cap39 is out-of-bounds so who knows what he's up to as he continues opposing by transit our nation's Cancerian planets (Venus, Jupiter, Sun in the 3 - 14Cancer degree range); next Mars will oppose natal Sun which can be an ego-bruising time for the President (Sun) and thus the nation when complete success isn't possible. There may even be a loss of integrity during this period for the opinions and actions of others do not support his leadership (we don't need a horoscope to tell us this.)

Actually, now that I think about it, this out-of-bounds Mars (acting on his own and as a troublemaker), exalted in Capricorn and able to focus his energies with great efficiency, may just be the primary actor who runs away with the entire Winter Solstice 2010 horoscope as Mars nears opposition to America's natal Mercury (plans and ideas are dismissed out of hand), then conjoins US natal Pluto, a time when something forceful of a karmic nature may come along and simply - or seemingly - have to be done.

A Personal Note: to the several readers who've expressed a desire to read my American Empire: When Jupiter Bowed to the Sun article now published in the Fall 2010 issue of Julie Demboski's Fall Eclipse e-zine: Julie (with her excellent editor's cap on) and I worked together like two cobblers at a virtual table through the magic of email for corrections and additions; therefore, I do not have a final copy of the article as-published and cannot send it out.

The final copy is in the e-zine!

When it is my legal right to publish the article in 6 months, it will most probably (given my previous and inexplicable averseness to making an income bwo Astrology!) be complimentary. Until then, I shall stand by the publishing arrangement made between Julie Demboski and myself and do thank my readers most heartily for their kind interest which I hope they will follow up on, for the Fall 2010 issue of Eclipse contains several great articles on a variety of topics - as do its other issues, I guarantee! jc

By the Light of the Full Moon 29Ari33 Oct 22, 2010

Check out EarthSky for astronomical info on the Full Moon (Hunter's Moon) of Friday, October 22, 2010. Astrologically, the Full Moon clocks in at 29Ari33 with Sun 29Lib33, both crisis degrees, and eager to reach Taurus/Scorpio.

In Washington DC, the luminaries oppose one another (relationships; awareness) across the 5/11 axis of the will, and perfect at 9:36:28 pm edt, says my Solar Fire software. The Hour is Mercury 3Sco35: Venus is Rx @ 9Sco00. Sun, Mercury, and Venus are in 5th house of Creative Pursuits, Gambling, and Risk-Taking.

The Full Moon's rising degree 29Gem00 (in DC) brings up the topic of the upcoming December 21, 2010 Lunar Eclipse 29Gem21 - another 29th degree indicating crisis or critical conditions. Also rising? Hades, a pseudonym for Pluto - and Pluto 3Cap11 is across the axis in setting position (Desc) with North Node 4Cap55. Pluto, NN, and the Moon will meet precisely @ 3Cap36 on November 9, 2010 at 3:13 pm edt, Washington DC. The trio has a definite public relations/publicity vibe along with mass detiny indications.

The December 21 Lunar Eclipse has been blogged upon already so you may find the post linked in the sidebar under "SO'W's Top 10 Posts." Warning: markets and finances may be adversely affected though we're still operating under the rays of the last Solar Eclipse of July 11, 2010: things at first seem worse, then clear with successful outcomes. Yet soon the New Year arrives and awaiting is the Solar Eclipse of January 4, 2011, also at crisis degree and opposing US natal Sun (the leader); domestic and foreign conditions are of critical concern for the president.

Chart-ruler Mercury makes two applying aspects: sextile NN (1A20) and conjunction Venus (5A26), both indicative of easy, and perhaps pleasant, communications and meetings. In fact, the Mercury/NN sextile forms the base of a YOD pattern that points toward President Obama's natal Moon in Gemini...

Tr Mercury/NN = n Moon: sharing emotional thoughts with others; details meant for the general public; sensitivity about how others use the information presented; using associates to research or pass on information; locating people to gather info or intell. (Tyl; Munkasey.)

Also, there's a Mystic Rectangle pattern formed, if you don't mind using the ASC (which conjoins the Dec 21, 2010 Lunar Eclipse) and NN, between: Moon, Pluto, NN, ASC, Sun, and Mercury. This is a pattern of practical mysticism; no planets are out-of-bounds so all energies are busily working on the earthly plane.

At Midheaven (The Goal; Aspirations) is President Obama's natal Chiron 6 Pisces and US natal Ceres and Pluto/Chrion midpoint (2-degree orb); the current Solar Eclipse's degree 19Can24 conjoins the Hunter Full Moon's 2nd cusp of Money, Self-Worth, and Earning Ability. SN, a Saturnian point of separation, rises in 1st house, not a fortunate placement and indicating some sort of separation or dependency on past behavior.

Old Man Saturn himself 10Lib26 conjoins the 5th cusp 10Lib24; testosterone-driven Mars 26Sco17 (6th house) is disturbingly conjoined with transiting asteroids Eros (the piercing) and Icarus (associated with assassinations, on one level.) Saturn rules the 8th house of High Finance; monetary retrictions continue.

America's Saturn Return (14Lib48) occurs soon when our nation's authority and maturity will be tested and accountability will not be avoided. One thinks of the latest news today about the banking-foreclosure crisis (robo-gate?) and the potential, massive burden on US taxpayers thanks to the criminals on Wall Street and on Capitol Hill, plus Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, agencies that have already helped funnel the American into indebtedness for years to come.

(I finally got around to finishing Matt Taibbi's Rolling Stone article from the August 19, 2010 issue, How Wall Street Won so don't even ask me any time soon my true feelings about Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Blanche Lincoln, Tim Geithner, or the rest of the predators and pawns infesting our nation and representing themselves as offering us "financial reform legislation." Puh!)

But enough of Washington politics, its corruption, fraud, manipulation, and downright sorriness!

For there's a Full Moon to admire Friday evening so happily I pass you on to an insightful analysis of the Hunter Full Moon of October 22, 2010 authored by Julie Demboski, in a post titled 'The Precipice' with its 'factor of revelation'!

Full Moon 1Pis25 conj Chiron Aug 24, 2010

Since I'm now involved in writing a longer-than-usual article these days, my blogging time has been sporadic. But not to fret! For the next lunation is covered by Julie Demboski - Tuesday August 24's Full Moon in early Pisces is detailed in her excellent Down the Rabbithole offering.

As Julie mentions, it won't be a 'rabbithole' for everyone - there are caveats, after all, even with Mercury Rx. Yet everyone has Pisces in their charts somewhere, planet or no, so I fully recommend to you Julie's insightful assessment of the August Full Moon in Pisces which is the culmination or fulfillment phase of the New Moon 17Leo25 of August 9, 2010.

Meet Me in September?

Actually, I just posted something on the New Moon of September 8, 2010 which happens to occur on the afternoon of the Jewish New Year, if you're interested. This New Moon culminates with a Full Moon on September 23, just in time for Autumn Equinox 2010, as Sun and Moon join the already-titanic Cardinal T-Square with apex Pluto, along with Jupiter, Uranus, and Saturn.

The Full Moon at Cardinal Points makes this one a world event of some proportion for big events tend to manifest or be triggered on the Cardinal Axis (00Ari/Lib-00Can/Cap; here we have Sun 00Lib15 opposing Moon 00Ari15 - the MC/IC axis in America's natal chart, if you use the 'Sibly' version for July 4, 1776 5:10 pm LMT Philadelphia, PA.) Sun/Moon = Pluto: critical time of development, which also applies to Iran's nuclear activities since this is thought by the West to be a critical time in its development, and Pluto = nuclear or atomic power. (Hopefully, Israel won't bomb Iran. Please, God. What a self-destructive move that would be for the entire planet.)

There's a YOD (turning point; crisis; special task; Finger of God) in the Sep 23, 2010 Full Moon chart, too: Mars/NN = MC: teamwork; partnership values gain importance. Mars/NN is 'pointing' toward US natal Uranus 8Gem55 as well, so we have what may entail a predicament:

Mars/NN = n Uranus: sudden events that affect a lot of people; stirring people up; organizing others (Tyl); sudden disruptions during meetings (Munkasey.)

But back to August 24's Full Moon 1Pis25:

Now everyone knows that the Virgo/Pisces axis is the victim/savior axis in Astrology. And everyone is experiencing, or is aware of, the loss and despair so prevalent in the world today. So perhaps the two Sun Virg/Moon Pisc Images for Integration may apply to the Tuesday August 24 Full Moon. If you listen to or read the news this coming week, you may discover something 'in the air' that sounds something like either one of these:

'The scientist has a dream and then, in his sacred laboratory, puts the finishing touches on his magnum opus...A peasant rests in the wheat field, and shares his bread, cheese, wine, and wisdom with the hungry labourers.'

(Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles & Suzi Harvey.)

Well, Happy Pisces Full Moon everybody - don't let the myriad of details available just now swamp or confuse you! And if you could pass some wisdom around, the planet could surely use a huge helping of it.

Of sassy Virgo virgins and Mars-Neptune quincunxes

Today I've been moseying around the internet picking a small bouquet of articles for you, dear reader, and you simply cannot go wrong with Julie Demboski's take on the current Virgoan energies now shared between lovers Venus and Mars.

Mars now quincunxes (inconjuncts; 150 degrees) nebulous Neptune and shaman Chiron so check out what Julie has to say about this week's Virgoan sassiness with her usual clear-eyed, clearly explained planetary info.

Then Donna Cunningham points us all to the August-September issue of The Mountain Astrologer Magazine where we'll find her brilliant article on quincunxes, the square-peg-in-a-round-hole aspect that figures prominently in Finger of God patterns (YODs) when two quincunxes point to a third planet; the two planets in sextile (60 degrees) make a base which results in a shape that favors a squooshed triangle, third planet/s at its apex.

In Astrology, YODs denote a special task or purpose, a crisis, and/or turning point and in natal charts may indicate a purpose, lesson, or undealt-with condition passed down through the generations. It's time to deal in your lifetime with the issues shown by the involved planetary energies if you have a YOD in your chart. And when a YOD pattern forms by progression, it can be like an alarm clock going off saying, Get Busy. Outer planet involvement shows a larger condition which may need your input on behalf of the collective.

Yes, the quincunx is a major, not a minor aspect!

In fact, Mars quincunx Neptune gives an over-anxious, impatient quality to their hook-up and indicates failure of efforts even though one attempts to assert oneself positively. Postpone any hastily made plans when Mars inconjuncts Neptune (whose foggy, nebulous energies tend to gum up or confuse matters quite regularly on its own!)

Relationships can make huge demands on us under a Mars-Neptune quincunx so exploitation is a potential; we find it difficult to see through other people's insincerity. Machinery failures are common, and we're also vulnerable to infections so do what Mama said: wash those hands and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze please. Even psychosomatic conditions may act up or sabotage us under this influence (which Neptune tends to have a hand in even without Mars coming along.)

And anyone considering doing something shady under Mars quincunx Neptune should be prepared for loads of guilty feelings welling up inside (or even better - reconsider and don't do it!)

Well, those are the good stuff I've found so far in my ramblings today. If you've found, know of, or have written an Astrology article of interest to the collective, do feel free to leave a Comment including its link here for others to follow.

Now for the sakes of Venus, Mars, and magical Neptune, here's Faye's Magic Lamp, one of my Vesta-esque drawings from Cosmic Persona Designs, a collection of fanciful figure studies for the 17+ among us.

Reaching for Chiron in Pisces

Reaching and actually grasping anything in Pisces is a tall order, if not an impossibility, and all through last week I made notes on Chiron in Pisces and related subjects in the political realm only to face this weekend's Mercury Rx (conjunct my natal 9th cusp - ouch!) which seems to undergird a freeze on actually writing or posting anything from my notes about Chiron traversing the deepest, most compassionate zodiac sign around.

Then today I find that astrologer Mandi Lockley has had much the same experience recently (one of Chiron's words, experiential) yet she has come through with flying colors and helpfully published Chiron in Pisces: Water Over Rocks, an article I highly recommend to you.

Mandi includes Chiron's schedule of retrogrades as The Centaur returns to Aquarius, then zooms back into Pisces in a few months, so do check out the shamanic Wounded Healer's whereabouts and what Mandi has to say about Chiron in Pisces, a placement that gives those who have it natally a crisis over connecting with the God force, the universal oneness, as noted in Barbara Hand Clow's invaluable book Chiron: Rainbow Bridge Between the Inner and Outer Planets (revised edition 2002.)

Seems to me that the collective is experiencing just such a crisis due to the harrowing events of the New Millennium: 9/11, a pre-emptive, illegal invasion based on lies and its resultant nation-bankrupting occupation (our bankruptcy as the US plays 'global cop'), and the power-elite-planned Financial Collapse of 2008.

Plus, since Chiron's orbit lies between Saturn and Uranus, the planets associated with the Middle East (particularly with Israel-Palestine), we may hopefully expect the Rainbow Bridge effect to lead us somewhere pragmatic yet compassionate while Chiron travels through Pisces. Hopefully (and prayerfully), the much-discussed World War III is not on Chiron's Piscean agenda for our era.

And while on the subject of Chiron, it would be remiss of me not to add a link to Julie Demboski's excellent book Chiron in the Natal Chart, also highly recommended reading for understanding more about one of Astrology's most interesting catalysts in our natal charts and psyches.

As for my own Chironic blogging schedule, the Politics of the thing must willingly wait until I get around to blogging about it because, in spite of Washington DC's gross mismanagement of our nation in recent decades, Politics isn't going away any time soon. Pity.

At least, that's been my experience of it.

Were you born when Chiron was in Pisces? Yes, if born within these dates, give or take a few hours:

3/20/1910 - 8/29/1910
1/16/1911 - 3/31/1918
10/23/1918 - 1/28/1919

3/27/1960 - 8/19/1960

10/19/1968 - 1/30/1969

New Moon 25Pisc10 March 15, 2010

The New Moon 25Pisc10 on Monday, March 15, 2010 occurs @ 5:01:02 pm edt at the White House so I thought perhaps a few astro-beans might be freely spilled on the subject as a new cycle of activity begins.

In Washington DC, the New Moon will occur in the 8th house of High Finances, Credit, Insurance, Debt, Transformation, etc. The 8th house, of course, is part of the 2/8 Money/Valuations axis; 8th cusp 22Pisc33 may not indicate a lot of clarity in financial matters especially considering the 3rd (final) Great Conjunction in December 2009 of the speculator pair of planets, Jupiter and Neptune, ruler and co-uler of the Piscean New Moon.

The New Moon's ruler, Jupiter 13Pisc27 is in 8th house, with Neptune 27AQ13 (6th house) left behind to splay messily over America's natal Moon 27AQ10 (US Sibly chart, 5:10 pm LMT) - quite a perfect picture of job (6th h) loss (Neptune) and lies and confusion (Neptune) about health (6th h; Moon.) And Chiron, associated with unhealable wounds/knowing how to wound, is also in 6th house of the New Moon chart.

Since I've blogged previously on the Neptune-to-n-Moon transit I won't repeat it all here other than to say that our ongoing senses of rootlessness, homelessness, and being deceived continue their difficulties upon the folks who can manage them the least. (Thanks, Washington, corporations, lobbyists, and the Fed - for nuthin'.)

Mass media (Neptune) is busy pulling her veil over the eyes of the people (Moon), too, perhaps in relation to a specific matter or matters with this Neptunian transit now exact. Yes, I realize they always do, but the timing is important so watch out for a special story to appear on the public radar - perhaps one that's difficult to believe (because it's untrue or based on flimsy evidence.)

Of course, flimsy statistics are possible as well with 'numbers' being a constant tool for manipulating public opinion and the 'health' of the market. Yet, sensing we're being lied to and scammed, US consumer confidence may reach a new low soon with Neptune-to-Moon since inflationary Neptune brings slowly dissolving conditions of loss along with massive deceptions and frauds.

Plus, a mystery (Neptune) from our nation's past (Moon) may surface and surprise us either positively or negatively so we'll see if anything newly discovered turns up concerning our history or past events. Perhaps some media hype (Neptune) may be uncovered for what it really is - a crock of NWO promotion.

Yet, Mercury 26Pisc26 conjoins disruptive rebel Uranus 26:29 in 8th house and both are close enough to the New Moon to usurp its rulership. When Mercury/Uranus energies are fused we get possible communications breakthroughs, modernization of transportations networks or policies, business groups forming to initiate policies, and/or labor coalitions or unions at work. And if goals are not clearly defined we may see riots and rebellion based on false assumptions, reforms that cause upsets in transportation systems, and/or a use of propaganda during emergencies. (Munkasey.)

At the moment of the New Moon's perfection on Monday, the ASC degree in DC is 29Leo08 which brings up one of the Royal Stars of Persia, Regulus, in the tip of the Leo's tail. The keywords for Regulus: success if revenge is avoided, so the caution with Regulus is not to take revenge. The other Royal Stars have cautions, too, which, if heeded, result in the promised success.

Also rising is asteroid Sisyphus, keywords: to be determined to achieve or succeed. Sounds like someone at the White House is understandably antsy to get some legislation passed, yes? And at IC 23Sco57, the Foundation of the chart, lies asteroid Pallas 23Sco02 Rx. Pallas = strategy, wisdom, defense of the city state.

With Pallas Rx, it may be that strategic plans are in review, as well they should be considering the hard slog this administration has had since Inauguration 2009's Rx Mercury (plans, announcements, contracts, agreements, messages, re-taken oaths, etc - plans possibly aborted, hence the GOP call for 'back to the drawing board') and its void-of-course Moon which showed that things would not be working out as planned, if at all. VOC Moons may also describe conditions where plans or events currently in play will not be interfered with or diverted - nothing is of any help as to how things turn out for it's too late. (Ex: 9/11's Moon @ a degree of Bankruptcy '28Gemini.' Bankrupting the people is working well for the global power elites so far. And 'it's too late' describes the condition of the US financial system in 2001 that most economists weren't being honest about. Perhaps someone saw waging expensive wars as an answer to financial shakiness. It wouldn't be the first time.)

The New Moon's North Node (NN) 18Cap48 is pointing toward asteroid Cupido, keywords: corporations, The Family, crime syndicates (and Art!) and they're @ the *NWO degree '18Cap' = "The Union Jack"...SUPERVISION...

positive expression: the self's ever-widening spread of interest in its insatiable desire to leave some permanent imprint of itself on everything it touches (the mark of the NWO beast? Microchips for human beings, anyone?);

negative/unconscious/shadow side: smug or strong-armed paternalism. (MEJ.)

And NN in Cap implicates Saturn in 2nd house - with President Obama's natal Mars on 2nd cusp 22Vir33 along with US natal Neptune 22Vir25, the signature of Mr. Obama's 'rock star status'...but indicating that the public seldom if ever sees his actions (Mars) in a clear light due to Neptune's interference (media and other deceptive actors including Obama's team of spinners.)

Well, with tr Saturn 1Lib46 Rx in 2nd house of the New Moon chart, and considering the Old Man's continuing visit to the White House's natal Uranus 00Lib01 (at US natal MC in the Sibly chart) we may wish to consider how Saturn-to-n-Uranus may affect the White House under this restrictive transit. It's a time when circumstances conspire to interfere with freedom and independence in some way (probably in several ways given the big mess America's politicians and bankers have plunked her in); plus, it's a period when new approaches or ideas from the W-H are not viewed favorably, especially by those who prefer the status quo. Duh.

Now that can describe all the big sectors now balking at governmental reforms in their industries including financial, industrial, and medical. Yet carefully laid plans may succeed eventually so it's no reason or time for the forces of change and reform to give up the good fight even with discontented Americans being Neptunized by media and others with 'lose-your-health-insurance' and 'death panel' confusions meant to keep the President off-keel and his reform agenda stymied (until the Republicans can swagger back into the Oval Office and do more of their style of damage for Dem-style damage isn't the GOP's cuppa tea.)

MC ruler Venus 10Ari23 is in 8th house; Venus also rules 3rd house through Libra. In Mudane charts I tend to notice '11 Aries' no matter where it appears because its symbol is: "The President of the Country." Interestingly, the tr Mars/Neptune midpoint here is @ '14Tau' which is the Inauguration ASC degree, the office of the president...

Mars/Neptune = ASC: a strong mental focus on the subtle ways to use to compel or coerce others into adopting your ideas; focusing attention on the causes of confusion which surround tense situations encountered. (He did that last week on the stump. Wonder if he'll make recess appointments when the Rs are out of town for Congress' spring break? He'd be crazy not to.)

Warring Mars, so recently turned Direct on March 10, is approaching the W-H's natal Jupiter 3Leo51 so there will be a temptation to give others more credit than they deserve. Yet monetary matters can improve under this influence if other factors don't interfere too much (Saturn to Uranus?); the White House's role may expand in some way along with its physical efforts so Mars-to-n-Jupiter may encourage more troop deployments or the launching of new military campaigns (just what the world doesn't need.) Money may be what's expanded, however, so the bottomless pit of war will need more inflationary billions spent (Boeing fighters come to mind) and the President will be traveling abroad.

So let's close with the Sabian Symbol fo this New Moon which I must provide since it's absolutely perfect for the beginning of a new cycle of activity as timed by a New Moon: '26Pisc' = "A New Moon That Divides Its influences"...wonder if it means between health insurance and financial reforms?

And now here's a real treat: a New Moon interpretation from one of the ablest and most insightful astrologers around, Julie Demboski, who sees by the March 15, 2010 New Moon Outbursts of Beauty and Grace.

Lovely - and much nicer than grousing over hate-filled old Politics and corrupt political thespians...thanks, Julie!

*NWO degree '18Cap' refers to the 3rd and final Great Conjunction of Uranus and Neptune on Oct 24, 1993 @ '18Cap'. Here are the political thesis and antithesis of the Uranus/Neptune combination when activated, according to Michael Munkasey:

Changes in social and political structures due to new ideals and dreams of the future; revolutions or strikes focused on new ways of thinking; groups that form to exploit oil or chemical resources.

Sudden upsurges in the availability of illegal drugs; subversion used as a new method of acquiring information; movements that diminish the power or authority of the nation's leadership or police systems. (Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets.)

Time Warp Through the Rabbithole with Frederic Chopin

Whew! Just completed installation of new pc equipment after a wobbly crash last Wednesday evening (Feb 24) so I'm barrelling online to say, Still here, and so is Stars Over Washington!

And since the Art collaboration I've been working on these last weeks is in high gear now (and having been off the *interweb for a week so I completed new drawings for the '1st Annual International Astrology Blogathon March 19 - 21, 2010'), I must thither me yonder with little delay.

Therefore, it is with some measure of poised aplomb attained quite naturally through my complete reliance on the insights and analysing skills of one Julie Demboski that I highly recommend to you her interesting observances concerning the cosmic symphony playing over our heads this very Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

Well, it's good to be back @ SO'W...especially with so many of our infesting politicians running for cover! Skiddaddle, fraudulent crooks and varmints!

To be cont'd...

Fryderyck Chopin born March 1, 1810; 6:00 pm Zelazowa Wola, Poland:

Sorry my pc problems caused me to miss the 200th anniversary of Frederic Chopin's birthday yesterday (although a few conflicting dates exist) but this morning I happily caught Performance Today and heard a wonderful pianist playing Chopin on Chopin's piano in the house where Chopin was born. That was really something and was made more astounding for this reluctant astrologer (or perhaps for any other) because it provided a living link through music...from 1810 to 2010. Pouf! 200 years!

Now, 200 years = 200 degrees ('a day for a year' as in Scripture) so 200 degrees is equivalent to 20 Libra on the circle of the zodiac. (Each sign contains 30 degr and 200 contains 6 signs (6 x 30 = 180; Aries - Virgo) = 180 degr, plus 20 degr more = 20 Libra.)

So here's a peek at the Sabian Symbol for '20Lib' to see if its word picture might pertain to something that could please Frederic Chopin. Plus, you'll find '21Lib' (201 degr) mentioned in Chopin's bio at AstroDataBank. I did not read the bio before typing in the '200 degr = 20Lib' above but of course, one degree dissolves into the next like seconds on a clock face morphing into the next minute, and 60 minutes melting into an hour. Right?

'20Lib' = "A Jewish Rabbi" and '21Lib' = "A Crowd Upon a Beach."

For more info, I shall quote from Adriano Carelli's The 360 Degrees of the Zodiac which gives a Symbol for '20Lib' (but not for '21Lib')...

'20Lib' = "Around an altar, on which the fire of sacrifice is blazing, the priests lay the sacred meal."

"An outstanding personality, innerly filled with light and warmth. There is a sincere religious spirit, exclusive of hypocrisy but not of earthly pleasures, prominent among which is enjoyment of good food. The other (chart) factors have to show whether this pious strain is likelier to inspire an ascetic or a sensuous mystic. In either case, the native may enter the clergy or, as a layman, lead an apostle's life.

Either in a cloister or in the world, the natives' ecclesiastical or worldly career stands under good auspices and even may prove very fortunate indeed, if backed by other indications of luck." (8th house Jupiter in Aries - jc.) "The support of highly placed people and the sympathy of learned persons will bring forth the native's otherwise unmistakable gifts, and his presence will appear indispensable to others."

Sad that composer-pianist Fryderyck Chopin died age 39, on Oct 17, 1849 of tuberculosis after settling in Paris (Sept 1831) and charmingly becoming part of an elite circle of social creatures with whom he arranged to teach music to their offspring, and entertain ritzy revelers during intimate candlelight suppers and other diverting amusements.

Which Symbol do I think more applies? Probably "A Jewish Rabbi" which may of course be considered to describe an archetypal image of a pope or priest. During his final lying-in, Chopin received the viaticum from Abbey Alexander Jelowick on Oct 14, 1849, passing away 4 days later. Plus, a rabbi is a teacher, and the maestro taught music lessons, as noted.

Upon Chopin's request, his heart was removed and placed in an urn and masoned behind a wall of the Church of the Holy Cross, Warsaw, an act meant to deliver a particular message into the Great Beyond, I think. It seems to me to be a 'time capsule of the heart' that goes along with the brilliant musical time capsule I experienced on the radio this very morning!

Inauguration 2009's Mercury Return Feb 10, 2010

When President took his (first) Oath of Office on Jan 20, 2009 at noon est, Capitol Building, Mercury was Rx (resulting in his second oath-taking and plans gone awry as we've seen) and @ 00AQ41, a degree Mercury revisits today at 3:39 pm est.

The oppressive and transiting Pluto/Chiron midpoint now stomps upon Inaugural 2009 Mercury along with the Neptune/Pluto midpoint, all at 00AQ+. Any, all, or none may apply:

Nep/Plu = Mercury thinking and acting while under strange influences; the inability to think independently (yet pretend that, as President, you are in control!); many plans incapable of realization; sensitive nerves; learning how to gain control or power; gathering info about transformation; communications are other than they appear; deception as a strategy; loss of centering. (Tyl; Ebertin; Munkasey.)

In the Mercury Return chart set for DC today, Mercury is setting on the Descendant 28Cap52 which places US natal Pluto setting as well. But perhaps more to the point, Mars 5Leo14R opposes Mercury, becoming exact in March. After mid-April this influence will dissipate.

Since astrological Mars represents males between the ages of 25 to 36 (give or take a year or so), one wonders if Presidential security should be upped. Certainly the President's announcements and plans are being argued against by martian-minded opponents and his communications may be particularly under attack (I'm listening to Fresh Air now about cyber-security and all the hacking the US government has undergone for years now - it's gotten much worse and Mr. Obama was clued in on how crucial the problem is for America when he took office. His May 29 speech last year mentioned cyber-security importance.)

Mars is also apex planet in a YOD (Finger of God pattern; special task; crisis) between Jupiter and Pluto, a pattern I've mentioned in a previous post. In short, this indicates misdirected hostility from Mars, a crisis may permit a new start and the use of mobilized forces (sounds like something many people are concerned about in the US: imposition of martial law as the US gov's police state mask is removed for real. Forces are gathering.)

Asteroid Icarus 29Cap24, the risk-taker with a possible connection to assassination, is at a critical 29th degree, and conjs Mercury and US natal Pluto, a picture I do not care for. Asteroid Cupido (corporatism; The Family; The Syndicate) still rides along with Pluto, the ultimate villain of the piece.

ASC 28Can52 gives Moon as chart-ruler yet Luna makes no applying aspects to planets, only a conjunction with North Node 20Cap56 ('20Cap' a critical degree) (4A06) and Moon is involved in a propaganda-esque midpoint picture - Snowpocalyse? Or...

Mercury/Pluto = Moon: obsessive needs for privacy or power; speaking from the heart convinces people; a woman with emotional communication power.

Well, there are several other factors of note in Inauguration 2009's Mercury Return chart for 2010 but the real world is calling my name and I must reply by motoring into the city.

Therefore, I highly recommend to you an article by Julie Demboski on the Empowerment of the New Moon during this Balsamic Moon phase, aka, the dark of the Moon. (New Moon Feb 13, 2010 @ 25AQ18 9:51 pm est.)

Dec 31 2009's Blue Moon Eclipse sparks articles!

Expert astrologer Julie Demboski has written an elucidating analysis of the Blue Moon Eclipse of Dec 31, 2009 with which we end the year and begin the next decade of the New Millennium.

Plus, Julie's article contains a link to a different astrological perspective on 2009's Blue Moon Eclipse with its lovely sounding name!

If you missed it, my own Blue Moon Eclipse post with chart image may be found here.

The Lunar Eclipse of Dec 31 perfects in Washington DC @ 2:12:34 pm est and the first US natal planet to rise in the eclipse chart is Uranus in Gemini which will bring along the unexpected. No predictions from me about this rising for as they say about freedom and independence loving Uranus, whatever you expect...it isn't that.

And if you click to enlarge the eclipse chart you'll see that Dec 31 2009's Uranus/Neptune midpoint @ 8Pis50 (Uran/Nep is a signature of the New World Order from their Great Conj/s of 1993) has 'caught up' with America's natal Ceres (security issues) and our natal Pluto/Chiron midpoint, a duo of plutocracy, oppression, corporatism, fascism, racism, primal violence, class warfare, etc.

(Dick Cheney's Secondary Progressed Pluto and Chiron - they are conjunct in Leo in his natal chart - were precisely upon his Progr'd Midheaven, The Goal Point...on 9/11/01.)

This 'new world order' agenda is culminating before our eyes, m'peops...see sidebar to your right of Quotes - the first one from Henry Kissinger concerning President Obama's current opportunity to further the power elite's (sucky) New World Order.

And you may wish to take all "Age of Aquarius" stuff with a grain of salt because they're using it against us! If the power elite triumphs over us, their view of our global future has nothing at all to do with the beautiful, peaceful Aquarian principles that New Age types and World Servers have been dreaming of...

The Astrology chart of Amelia Earhart

As a child I read a biography of aviatrix extraordinaire Amelia Earhart and was fascinated with her but was left with a longing to know what happened on her ill-fated flight. Was she a spy? What island did she and her co-pilot land - or more probably crash - on?

Well, everyone wants to solve the mysteries of Amelia Earhart, right?

At the time I knew nothing about Astrology or what it can divulge so I'm delighted to recommend ace astrologer Julie Demboski's excellent article concerning Amelia. You'll find Earhart's natal chart and more on display along with Julie's thought provoking elucidations.

Well done, Julie!

And thank you for providing a link to a recent feature of my Dreamyfish Art botanical fish portraits in the international diving magazine X-RAY where you may download the entire mag for free or snag only my artist interview and fish portraits by downloading Section V in issue #32 (upper right corner)!

Update: just found the Amelia Earhart site with a recent article that her final resting place may have been found - the uninhabited island of Kiribati.

Guidance on the July 21, 2009 Solar Eclipse '29can'

If it's guidance or info you're needing concerning the July 21, 2009 Solar Eclipse at 29 Cancer, you can do no better than Julie Demboski's excellent analysis with her practical suggestions included.

Naturally I don't 'do' advice on this blog (or on any other!) because I tend to spend time using the lens of Astrology to look at History and at Politics and politicians, especially in the DC area of the world - and they ain't listenin'.

Yet it must be mentioned that Tuesday evening's Solar Eclipse will fall barely two degrees from President Obama's natal Mercury (2Leo20), which is how he says things, his style of thinking and planning, and his orating abilities. His Mercury is opposite natal Jupiter, too, so his Mercury/Jupiter opposition will be triggered.

That Mercury relates to his children, I prefer to pass over, if you don't mind. That the Eclipse has slightly over a 2-degree orb to natal Mercury may be good - the Eclipse energy is less intense that way and more objectivity can be present - particularly to one as self-aware as Mr. Obama.

Wing-footed-and-helmeted Mercury is also linked to travel, commerce, and trade, so the president's schedule and the content of his speeches will be of particular note this week of a rather difficult Eclipse Series, the 11 South, with its 'systems break down; new methods are needed' vibe for the next 6 months of the 11 South season.

The Eclipse opposes Inauguration 2009's Sun and Mercury Rx (00AQ+), so we may expect diverse opinions and people running off into various directions while changing their minds.

In fact, the president's thinking on Inauguration Day 2009 is subject to switches and quarrels and answers are difficult to come by. His speeches may not be as well-received as he would like, although recent ones seem to have lots of applause involved...we'll see if that response continues.

So will Obama's Health Care Reform bill be presentable by Congress' August recess? It may go either way, but one thing I know based on the opponents of the bill and their current talking points: stalling for decades is hardly a "rush" to reform.

The richer classes of America must share some little bit of their largesse, or America may fall. If that occurs, we'll know that the elite's priorities and loyalties lie elsewhere than upon our sovereign shores. (Some of us know this already, but apparently it must be demonstrated to be fully appreciated - and then it will be too late for the middle class, much later for our poorer classes. It is America's failure that we have so many people under the poverty line at this late date.)

But of course even without Astrology, we already know that systems of all sorts are breaking down or are under tremendous stress, so let's see what a White House chocked full of Democrats has in mind, shall we? For America, falling upon one's own resources may be one theme of this Eclipse - survival mode is another tinge of possibility. Shouts of 'protectionism' may soon follow as usual - how tiresome!

Until then, please check out Julie Demboski's thoughts on July 21's '29 Cancer' Eclipse and its possible effects on the house axis where it falls in your natal chart and the planets which '29Can - 00Leo' may aspect for you.

Julie's perspective will do you good while Politics seldom will!

Financial Reform and the July 7, 2009 Lunar Eclipse 15Cap

If you want a Capitol Hill flavored view of the July 7 Lunar Eclipse, read my post below.

But if you'd prefer a more balanced view to go along with the politics - or in spite of them (possibly the wiser choice!) - check out Julie Demboski's take and advice on the July 7 Lunar Eclipse with the four major asteroids as archetypes that Julie blends so seamlessly into her analysis!

Original post begins here:

On June 11, 2009 Paul Weinstein, Jr called for regulation of Wall Street by the Fed and the FDIC, two entities he says will be "independent super-agencies" that, among other tasks, will regulate hedge funds, insurers, and derivatives markets.

Will this great financial reform be accomplished with the aid of the Lunar Eclipse of July 7, 2009?

Comparing the July 7 Eclipse chart with America's natal chart (Sibly version), we see that the Lunar Eclipse, a Full Moon at 15Cap24, conjuncts the Sibly 2nd cusp of Earning Ability and Values, leaving the Sun 15Can24 to sit directly upon the (Sibly) 8th cusp of Shared Resources, Insurance, Debtors, Creditors, and other high-stakes wheeler-dealers and those under contract to pay them. The 2/8 axis is the Money/Values Axis, as you know.

(If I drift off-topic before I'm done composing this, it's because C-SPAN is on the TV behind me re-running Tuesday's Democratic Leadership Council tribute to Al From - and I'm getting cavities just listening to it. No disrespect intended, and they have a right to uplift whomever they want, for service to the party, of course. And you thought Barack Obama walked on water!)

The Lunar Eclipse occurs so soon after July 4 that we might expect it to be pertinent to US affairs on several levels, but my question is: will it affect the economy of our nation and the implementation of the Obama administration's financial reform initiatives?

Let's keep peeking under the univeral hood, shall we?

The speculator pair Jupiter and Neptune are dancing now upon the US natal Moon '27AQ' (the people; the public) yet I won't bark again about the midpoint picture formed since I've howled so many times here and elsewhere because its influence takes up all of 2009 and goes into 2010. Plus, these two wildly imagining planets of liquidity and grand plans are in another Air sign in the *NYSE natal chart: Libra.

Well, I've yet to give you the details for July 7's Lunar Eclipse chart:

ASC 12Can04; MC 21Pis05 (note that the ASC/DESC and MC/IC axes are nearly the same as the NYSE's angular cusps as listed below); Sun and Moon you know, Mercury 7Can24 which makes Mercury the oriental planet (rising last before the Sun) - the 'dot the Is, cross the Ts' influence of one who deals with minute details; Venus 2Gem14 in 11th house; Mars 26Tau39 in 11th h and conj Fixed Star Algol of intense passion and rage; Jupiter you know; Saturn 17Vir04 conjunct NYSE's natal Mars 18Vir43, a transit of actions restricted, a need for better organizaiton becomes evident, and trying to circumvent rules and regulations ends badly.

The Lunar Eclipse's Uranus 26Pis36 is in 10th house indicating career disruptions or reforms, plus Uranus in now within orb of its transiting square with transformative Pluto 1Cap38 in 6th house of the Lunar Ecl chart.

Saturn in Virgo is actually at Thales Point in the chart for its aid to the opposition of the Sun and Moon - Saturn trines Moon and sextiles Sun.

And when the chart is set for Washington, DC, Sun, Moon, Saturn, and MC (17Pis48) form a Mystic Rectangle, although the 4th point as a chart angle should really hold a planet in order for it to be properly called a Mystic Rectangle (a pattern of practical mysticism.) Well, '17Pisces' is a critical degree, however, and Washington is a mystical place with its buildings based on Masonic principles: the Pentagon's 5-pointed star, White House as White Lodge, Capitol Building as Masonic Temple, and more.

Well, is that enough for now? Perhaps this post can be updated as the Eclipse nears or inspiration occurs. Until then!

*New York Stock Exchange: May 17, 1792; timing varies, but I use 7:52 am LMT, 'under the Buttonwood Tree', NYC - ASC 13Can51; MC 23Pis21; Sun 27Tau12; Moon 18Ari39 approaching Saturn 26Ari22; Jupiter 22Lib57 in process of conjoining Neptune 27Lib42. So when Jupiter and Neptune conjunct about every 13 years, this astrologer naturally thinks of the NYSE.

June 12--14, 2009: Weekend Planetary Forecast + a Pisces Moon

What does this weekend have in store? What energies As Above, So Below may be expected to lead or to rain on our parades?

Fortunately for us, Julie Demboski has her most fetching astrologer's cap in place and has published an enlightening Weekend Forecast as only Julie can explain: lucidly for astrologers and non-astrologers alike.

And some of us (moi!) may have a Lunar Return over the weekend affecting our daily lives, so I'm happy to find that Julie has done all the tough work to make this weekend's energies more understandable - I was beginning to wonder what was up given the way Friday is turning out so far, for I'm hearing thunder-boomers overhead now!

Now a small Moonligher from Western Australia has floated in to say Hi! to all the Pisces Moons among us...and the sign of the two fishes, Pisces, naturally relates to the big wide oceans...
