An Astro-Peek at When US Authority and Authenticity Changed

In the Fall 2010 issue of Julie Demboski's Eclipse e-zine (subscription only, now an email subscription and worth it!), I wrote a column called American Empire: When Jupiter Bowed to the Sun which detailed my views on one of the signposts along the way of America's change of trajectory toward overreach, over-expansion, overspending, quixotic notions leading us astray, and excessive arrogance and greed.
This is not our Founders' country anymore, as many Americans feel!
Astrological Jupiter's connection to idealism, broadened horizons, philosophy, and finances figures into the path-diverted picture as well for a planet moving direct at birth (July 4, 1776 US natal Jupiter 5Can56 conjunct US natal Sun and Venus) may turn retrograde by progression depending on whether it turns Rx in real time (1776), and a progressed chart is based on a natal chart when the 'clock' starts ticking by degree as well as moment--for America's founding, Jupiter began @ 5Can56.
So, you ask, just when did America's planet of Jupiterian realms turn Rx onto a more inward-looking, subtle, distanced course which transformed its participation with other natal planetary energies? Precisely on November 15, 1905, and right away we think of President Teddy Roosevelt, the Progressive Social Movement, the soon to blowup Panic of 1907, and the resulting creation of the privately-owned Federal Reserve Bank. Other events and changes occurred as well, and perhaps you can locate my article in Julie's Eclipse issue for more details.
Besides, today I want to focus on US *Sec Saturn's Rx Station on December 14, 1996 during the President Clinton era--especially with the final conjunction of US Saturn by transit to US natal Saturn @ 14Lib48, our national Saturn Return, occurring soon on August 28, 2011--the date that the new Martin Luther King Jr Memorial is to be dedicated in Washington, DC. Plus, Saturn rules stone and stone markers, of course, in an attempt to create a permanent (Saturn) remembrance of a person or event.
Astrological Saturn, as you know, rules such things as authority, accountability, responsibility, austerity, reality, restriction, constriction, restraint, constraint, reserve, inhibition, Time, delay, endings, discipline, loss, lack...but also form, function, structure, walls and boundaries (even bones, teeth, skin), prisons, membranes, old age, the elderly, etc. You know the senex scoop.
If such a Rx change of direction by progression occurs simultaneously with major transits (as they did with US Sec Jupiter's Rx Station of 1905--lots of powerful Mars/Pluto action in the early 1900s), then a "backdrop for new perspectives" becomes evident although it will be subtle at first. However, something tangible may happen during that year (1996), perhaps directed by those who are aware of the planetary change, and some US leaders are nothing if not aware of such subtle forces which they attempt to engineer to suit their wills--the old win-win way of playing the game for those in charge. Plus, a need-to-know-basis is used for keeping the strings of power within certain hands.
With Saturn Stationing Rx, a progressed trine to the Sun follows in about 11 to 13 years when a fruition of some kind is achieved which stems from the year of the directional change--1996, here, so the years 2007--2009 are implicated (US Sec Full Moon Sun 4Pis10, December 2008, occurred less than one degree past the Sec Sun/Saturn trine.)
This info, of course, provides us with a time frame linking the internalization of America's Saturnian functions (such as authority, authenticity, realism) during the Clinton era 1996 (his second term) into the era of George Bush and on into the Obama Inauguration of January 20, 2009--and beyond to this very moment, for Mr. Obama is still in office.
Yes, the presidential baton was passed from Dubya to Barry in 2009, yet on many levels, the new boss of Saturnian authority acts much the same as the old, doesn't he? And we have basically the same problems grinding on.
So looking back to the Clinton era we may one day be able to see a suspension or weakening of Saturnian functions more than we can now. And it would take months or years for me to study and blog at you concerning the effects of Saturn's directional shift as evidenced by actual events. (My Sec Jupiter Rx Station article took about 5 months off and on to compile and compose.)
Besides, you probably remember some of the authoritarian actions or non-actions of the Clinton administration (the February 28, 1993 Siege of Waco comes to mind as Sec Saturn was slowing down in preparation, already on its Station degree @ 3Sco24 and had just crossed Sec IC by progression into 3rd house where it remains) but here is a brief list of December 14, 1996 events to whet the whistle of those who are concerned with the condition of the US government and the inverted condition of our Saturn, planet of government, law, and business.
Yes, it's 2011 and America's 'broken systems' have been in the news every day now since 2007/08--and tottering, they tell us, on the brink of Saturnian collapse with transit Pluto (transformation; destruction) in Capricorn working his toppling magic.
The rest of 1996 applies as well but why not use the actual date since we have it?
Now you'll note from these news stories the use of Saturnian words such as loyalist, rigid rules, big conservative, hostages, governor, law-politics-labor-business, blockages, obstacles, and other terms which tie in directly to Saturnian themes and issues.
All 5 articles are from the Baltimore Sun and the list begins with the nation that is now our biggest creditor and a man who, it states, once worked for General Electric:
China's new man in Hong Kong Governor-elect Tung Chee-hwa was a big conservative in the US;
Clinton taps Reno, Richardson, Daley Commerce, U.N. posts go to loyalists (contains 'free' trade agreement mention--current lack of US tariff barriers now pose a huge problem along with Ross Perot's predicted "sucking sound" of US jobs being shipped overseas, aka, the NAFTA SHAFTA);
Daley has ties to law, politics, labor, business Son of Chicago mayor ran Clinton's '92 Ill. campaign (Daley 'managed' it: Saturn!);
Businesses challenge Glendening lawsuit planned to block Governor on collective bargaining;
Richardson has knack for freeing hostages abroad Nominee for U.N. envoy also is Clinton loyalist with Hispanic roots.
Well, do you feel that 'something changed in America' during Clinton's presidency as his 'authority' was constantly under challenge and threat from the GOP? Our legal system certainly was affected by the brouhaha. But I'm not so certain that the legal challenges by conservatives to his administration weren't just staged Political Theater meant for public consumption (and for the usual dividing-and-conquering of the people, plus, a financial boondoggle) for it isn't as if the Clinton presidency ended over Ken Starr's investigation, now is it?

Mr. Buffett's grand idea for the US Congress and a link to his natal chart
Stop coddling the super rich, says one of the richest men in America to the US Congress.
Even if taxes on the wealthy are raised, who doesn't think they'll get by just fine? To say otherwise is simply acting, pretending, and political posturing.
For as progressive broadcaster and author Thom Hartmann has maintained, if wealthy CEOs won't create jobs in America, then you'd think they'd want to aid their country by paying a larger share in taxes!
Though kicking and screaming, we came to their rescue when large corporations and plutocratic banks 'needed' massive bailouts to cover their fraud and gambling losses and make off with a huge payday yet now they leave millions of US workers idle. Paying more in US taxes when the funds are sorely needed for the sake of the nation is the least they can do after profiting off the backs of the American people for decades.
And the media's much-touted 'lack of confidence' has nothing to do with it since the willing participation of wealthy corporations would quell any such lack immediately by bolstering the system. (Mr. Buffett didn't say that, I did.)

President Obama's *Blame Congress Bus Tour begins tomorrow August 15, 2011 as the president escapes the District in which he has been held captive for most of the last month with lawmakers blaming one another for the debt stalemate, a political theater performance that led directly to the US credit rating downgrade by Standard & Poor's.
As S&P said in their report, AAA-rated nations don't throw around the word "default." So thanks, Tea Party and GOP! Did you get 98% of what you wanted? As usual, the power elite take 98% and leave American workers a measly 2%.
One assumes the presidential bus will not have First Dog Bo lashed to its top a la Mitt Romney's poor pooch.
Yes, jobs creation is the president's topic as the bus, if not the buck, stops in small Midwestern towns in Mr. Obama's attempt to re-connect with the American people, many of whom will have plenty of time to show up and hear him speak because they are jobless. Yet if good ideas for creating US jobs come from the people, will he use them? His lowered approval rating indicates a need for big ideas that actually improve conditions for US workers so he'd be wise to take their advice since his own advisers seem to be adding precious little on the topic.
Being Followed by a Moon Shadow?
Now as you know, in Mundane Astrology, the Moon signifies the people, the public, the populace, and publicity, and the Sun, the leader; Leo is the sign of those with natural leadership abilities, and President Obama was born with his Sun in Leo.
And since we have a definite period of time and an event (bus tour, president-to-people, Aug 15-17), let's peek at the mood (Moon) of the people in relation to the Sun (leader), shall we? Naturally, the relational Sun-Moon combination will apply with the Sun ranging from 22Leo20 (conjunct Venus 22:03 signifying harmony and the ideal, popularity, rich feelings--which he may have but most of us don't--and the potential for acting for the sake of appearances with little intrinsic value (Ebertin.)
Now I am using Monday 8:00 am edt, Washington DC as the ETD and Wednesday 8:00 pm edt as trip's end because I don't know precisely when his bus will leave or return to Washington DC, but we have to choose a time frame. And given the few bus trips I've ever taken in my life, I attest that anyone would be glad to leave their seats by 8:00 pm after a 3-days ride! Funny, but the longest one I've ever taken was from Georgia to Washington DC...many moons ago. 'Twas a nightmare I shall never repeat!

Since the Moon remains in a sign for approximately 2 1/2 days, the 3-day tour shows Luna beginning in Pisces and ending on the evening of August 17 in Mars-ruled Aries. Uranus begins @ 4Ari03 and retrogrades to 3Ari59 by tour's end. Uranus in Aries = Utopians (Ebertin) so the Moon will conjoin disruptive, quirky, politically minded Uranians during the trip so we may expect some combination of excitability, emotional tension, determination, and expressions of fear and anxiety to manifest--toward, or even from, the president.
Sun Leo/Moon Pisces: with a Pisces Moon indicating confusion, deception, and Mutable (unstable) conditions--but also compassion and sympathy, the Leo-Pisces blend of energies gives the tour a steamy FIRE-WATER start that indicates modesty yet pride, warm friendliness, and an idealistic, enthusiastic flavor. Leo-Aries is a self-confident, intuitive blend with an abundance of ideas which will apparently be expressed to the president. Idealistic with a social conscience, it does has a 'hero-worship' tendency--but perhaps this is just what the president needs about now to get his mojo back! Will austere Tea Partyism be criticized by the bus tour's Midwestern audiences?
To my way of thinking (America is Not broke--that's just crazy talk!), it's what the corporate-backed Tea Partisans in Congress deserve if only for using the word 'Default' in July and August as if the full faith and credit of the United States is their political plaything. (Feel free to disagree!)
Leo-Aries shows the culmination of the bus tour as being, among other things, an exercise in risk-taking for the president. This blend wants to improve things! Plus, creative enterprises that love applause is one of the ways to sum things up but by tour's end, though feelings of exhaustion will be evident (as per my personal 'bus ride to DC' comments above) so Mr. Obama may collapse like a rag doll once back with his family. He'll, of course, bounce back by Thursday and with some new idea arrows tucked inside his jobs creation quiver, and one hopes he can and will use them.
(Here's one: raising US tariffs is a good place to start.)

Also let me say that I will complete/update yesterday's post on the November 25, 2011 Solar Eclipse with the 'sinister' flavor which was interrupted by a thunderstorm Saturday--to be published by Monday evening while the president is tooling down the road. But for today's post, this Moon-tracking the bus tour is too fun to ignore! And perhaps it will garner a smidgen of bus tour info.

A Solar Eclipse in early Sagittarius, fiery sign of The Seeker, occurs in Washington DC on November 25, 2011 at 1:09:36 am est during an Hour of the Moon (fluctuations, changes, and unstable conditions in Mutable Sagittarius.) Lord of the eclipse is Jupiter through the Jolly One's rulership of Sag, but Mercury Rx is chart-ruler through the Ascendant (ASC) 21Virgo17. Mercury also rules this Midheaven and US natal Mars and Uranus. Gold-loving MIDAS and Pan (panic, panorama, pan-hellenic, pan-American, panacea) continue traveling in tandem with US natal Uranus 8Gem55, here in 9th house of Philosophy, Religion, and the Justice System (what little of one we still have.)
This Solar Eclipse falls in the 14 North Saros Series, details below. A 14N eclipse last occurred in 1993 @ '22Sco', the year of the Great Conjunction/s of NWO planets, Uranus and Neptune, which conjoined during the Age of Reason (aka, The Enlightenment.) Their cycle is approximately *171 years long.

Now ordinarily I would begin such a horoscope analysis by listing any applying aspects made by the chart-ruler but that isn't necessary with this Solar Eclipse chart because there are none. This emphasizes the sign and house placement of Mercury, and its retrograde condition. A Rx chart-ruler indicates delays, shortcomings, and limiting conditions and events which interfere.
Mercury conjunct IC portends more American moving in with relatives (Rx = moving back in with parents, or parents with kids!), and/or the home being used for study, work, and communications--aka, working from home. Mercury, planet of young people, oration, contracts, negotiations, news, commerce, trade, and thinking processes, is in its detriment in Sagittarius, and denotes those who are concerned with attitudes rather than facts, and with codifications of social thought in religion, higher education, law, and philosophy. The Flywheel of the Universe: Jupiter v Saturn
The Jupiter/Saturn pair of societal planets--one expands, one constricts and the tension keeps our solar system's planets in their courses...yin-yang!--hold prominent roles in the eclipse chart with a stand-off across its 2/8 money-values axis as our debt, economic, and austerity issues--stirred up more than improved by political gamesmanship--continue. Jupiter 1Tau57 is Rx, and Saturn in balancing Libra is conjoined by asteroid Hopi, keywords: ambush or prejudice. Yes, I do hope the work of the un-Constitutional 'Super Congress' improves US financial and societal conditions but I'm not holding my breath...
Ex: eclipse Saturn conjoins Fixed Star Arcturus (Alpha Bootes, a pathfinder; a leader who protects people as they embrace a new lifestyle (-Brady.) A 'new lifestyle' of want, loss, and need caused by others' greed, it seems. Can the much-touted, totalitarian, sucky 'New World Order' be nearly upon us?
Jupiter and Saturn here, plus the date of the eclipse, indicate the November eclipse's timely connection to the deadline of the 'Super Congress' recommendations on November 23, 2011. Since this eclipse occurs on November 25, it falls too close in time/date to be uninvolved in these super-external financial deliberations of a US Congress which now vacates once again their oversight duties laid out in the Constitution.

As you see, activist Mars 6Vir47 is working busily in the behind-the-scenes 12th H of Politics, Secret Deals, and Hidden Enemies--and 'he' conjoins President Obama's natal Pluto, a transit for him indicating a time to be forceful, purposeful, and more focused. There's a need for patience and concentrated efforts yet jealousy, revenge, and danger are part of the scene. Something the president was karmically meant to do comes along; imperative is evaluating investments ("invest in America!", he says but will he be able to with so much opposition from a GOP intent on his--and our--failure?), and investigating a mystery may also indicated. Will 'leaks' confuse issues even further and contribute to America's slow recovery?
An Earth Grand Trine--But in Houses of Water: 4, 8, 12
Well, if leaks occur, they will probably tie into financial and political concerns since Mars is involved in an Earth Grand Trine pattern with 8th H Jupiter Rx in money-loving Taurus (the Bull of Wall Street), and powerful, subversive Pluto, now destructuring all institutions and systems of the Saturnian kind (Capricorn, sign of Government, Law, and Business.)
Evaluating Venus 28Sag26 nears Pluto in 4th H of Real Estate, Homeland, and Finalities across the Security axis (4/10) with Venus conjoining Fixed Star Acumen (enduring attacks which weaken--not a good portent for the US housing foreclosure mess which will continue well into 2013 or even 2014.
Now Grand Trines in materialistic Earth signs usually provide a calming, comforting, soothing energy for it prefers to preserve the status quo (here, the system of Capitalism?) Earth Trines tend to attract resources and do not respond well to drastic, critical life changes (beware 'Super Congress' recommendations and the automatic "trigger"!)
Tangible support and worldly position are offered by an Earth Grand Trine if resources are skillfully managed--but as we know, this has not been the case by the US government, the over-extended, tapped-out American public, or by the fraud-infused global banking industry--unless you happen to be a member of the power elite of such organizations. Of course, if they manage to crash the world economy as they seem intent on doing, their money will be worthless, too, until the next currency is set up, a plan already on-tap, I suspect. ('Amero'? So the Mars-Jupiter-Pluto trio plod on, focused upon goals, and inspired by a dynamic vision (Utopians!) of an ideal structure which most of us feel is debasing our nation. Yes, the losses of Financial Collapse 2008 undermined what little confidence in government's good intentions we may have felt (as NWO creeps intended), and events of 2011 have not improved our negative outlook about the US government's ability--or, some say, desire--to bolster our society, and place we-the-people's needs over corporations' bottom lines, have they? (See Cupido in 12th H--corporations, The Family (Doug Coe?), The Syndicate, including the global Organized Crime network which some have called, The Octopus.
There's a Uranian Planet named Cupido, too--here, conjunct Mercury Rx and the IC...The Drain (see 14N info below: 'draining of energy'--the power grid?)

Difficult aspects tend to block an eclipse's more positive expressions though dynamic energies of a square can also stimulate action. Mars opposed Chiron which brings in the sacred warrior energy though its ideals and guiding light are not guarnteed to be fact-based.
So with testy Mars ruling 8th H of Debt, Credit, and Big Business--and Jupiter Rx posited there and ruling 4th H of Real Estate where Pluto resides, and Pluto as co-ruler of the 3rd H of Neighborhoods and Communications, I see the Earth Grand trio of planets in the closed circuit of energy of the Trine representing the 'Super Congress' (aka, 'Super Committee') which the US Congress has brazenly set up to deal with problems they wish to avoid taking the heat for as austerity of a 2nd H (Money; Worth Issues) Saturn 25Lib07 opposes Jupiter in greedy Taurus, intolerant of the poor whose threadbare benefits it wishes to cut.
In 6th H of Work and Health, Neptune 28AQ12 Rx has re-entered Aquarius and moved closer once again to US natal Moon (we-the-people) which continues this difficult transit for America with its 'sense of inferiority, rootlessness, homelessness, and loss as fraud (Neptune) is visited upon (by transit) the American people (Moon.) Neptune represents the fraudsters, banksters, and the media in collusion against the working class and all those in need who are disenfranchised by larger forces.
As you know, disappointment, despair, and uncertainty have trailed in Neptune's oceanic wake--including disappointment with President Obama's failure to uphold the value of protecting the Middle and Working classes--shown astrologically by his natal Mars (motivation, desire, action, energy) precisely conjoining US n Neptune, a tenuous connection. Chart-ruler Mercury Rx 20Sag03 Conjoins IC
Now ordinarily I would begin such a horoscope analysis by listing any applying aspects made by the chart-ruler but that isn't necessary with this Solar Eclipse chart because there are none. This emphasizes the sign and house placement of Mercury, and its retrograde condition. A Rx chart-ruler indicates delays, shortcomings, and limiting conditions and events which interfere.
Mercury conjunct IC portends more American moving in with relatives (Rx = moving back in with parents, or parents with kids!), and/or the home being used for study, work, and communications--aka, working from home. Mercury, planet of young people, oration, contracts, negotiations, news, commerce, trade, and thinking processes, is in its detriment in Sagittarius, and denotes those who are concerned with attitudes rather than facts, and with codifications of social thought in religion, higher education, law, and philosophy. The 'Super Congress' comes to mind.
Plus, conjoining the 3rd cusp 16Sco57, you see asteroid Atlantis (a stand-in for America, a nation founded as the Utopian vision/dream/ideal of a 'New Atlantis' in the New World--ripe for the plundering of natural resources) with Atlantis's keywords, abuse of power; where we feel doomed, which intimately relates to the legend of Atlantis, the Lost Continent.

Let's look at the 14 North Saros Series itself. To get a better idea of its potential influence, I shall quote directly from the excellent Bernadette Brady's book Predictive Astrology, my italics:
"A most peculiar eclipse family heralding an acute time of confusion in personal relationships, unexpected happenings in financial matters, and possible illness. Unrequited love, despair, confusion, a draining of energy, a peculiar turn of events. No important decisions should be made concerning incoming events as there is too much confusion and possible delusion to make clear judgments."
14N has manifested in the years 1903, 1921, 1939, 1957, 1975, 1993, (Nov 2011), and will next occur in 2029. Its initial eclipse occurred on April 29, 1074 (OS) @ 13Tau54 (our US inaugural ASC each January 20th at noon, DC) with Venus @ 4Ari57 which is the position of Uranus now (Venus/Uranus = extravagant or erratic with money!) America's PE 00Pis33 in 1776 (which our nation carries as a permanent part of national identity) has testy Mars 00Pis30 upon it.
A Muddy Saturn/Neptune Vibe
There's a Saturn/Neptune opposition in the initial eclipse chart of 1074 which denotes a natural distrust of competitors and irrational fears of failure which cause a retreat from competition (stock market? jc); this creates a vicious circle or self-fulfilling prophecy of failure, and when finding others deceitful, some use this as justification for acting deceitfully, too.
Financial loss and great difficulty facing reality are prevalent.
Well, you may not agree that an initial eclipse in a Saros Series can still have meaning centuries later but I believe the Saturn/Neptune opposition speaks directly to what's going on in 2011. Can you feel it?
Now what else may we expect from the November 25, 2011 eclipse? Since it's ruled by Jupiter, then Jupiter-ruled and 9th house matters will be uppermost for the revelations and events it portends. Long distance travel (including that of President Obama), religion, philosophy, higher education, and the legal system are key areas for the revelations and events. Transportation, transport workers, banking (of course!), and the extension of US power into the world are on tap, as noted, supported by US Mars at MC.
Will one revelation concern crimes and zealousness of the US military (Mars in 12th H conjunct Mr. Obama's Pluto)? Surveillance scandals? 12th house matters such as hospitals, prisons, and grand reforms ('Super Congress' recommendations due November 23, 2011) are on the eclipse agenda. Yes, death, as previously noted, is somewhere lurking, for a noble, monarchist, or a head of state, with scandals on the rise!
Plus, the 3rd house position of the eclipse @ 2Sag37 indicates worker discontent, potential accidents, and possible strikes, protests, and...hate to say it, but riots may turn up. Also of note is that the Nov eclipse opposes President Obama's natal Moon in Gemini which relates personally to him, his wife, and family though it may be only that emotions (Moon) are stirred up.
The 14N eclipse @ 2Sag37 triggers a few natal planets worth noting:
NYC (Uranus 1Sag42), the White House (2Sag11), NASA (Mars 1Gem58), Roswell NM (Moon 00Sag04 and Mars 2Sag13); also, Afghanistan (Neptune 4Sag55 Rx), Australia (NN 29Sco50), China (Chiron 5Sag29), Mexico (Jupiter 1Gem23), France (Mercury 00Sag08 and Venus 2Sag23 Rx), and North Korea (Moon 2Sag17.) I'm certain there are more triggerings but these are what I have in my files.
As for the US horoscope, the December 20, 2011 Lunar Eclipse @ 18Gem11 conjoins US natal Mars and this chart's Midheaven which indicates a watershed time for the effects of the November 25 Solar Eclipse eclipse and is probably when most of the scandals and crimes will be revealed--on or about December 10th by the light of the Full Moon.

Another word about the unaspected Mercury 20Sag03 Rx sitting precisely on the IC, the Foundation and Basis of the Matter: its Sabian Symbol for '21Sag' - EXAMINATION seems to me to relate directly and unfortunately to the 'Super Congress' and its report (Mercury) due November 23rd--and the degree's negative expression of "distorted vision" and for the purpose of grasping power (Sun-Pluto).
No, not everyone is impressed by Utopian Uranus-in-Aries's vision of global domination and totalitarian control. Plus, the Jupiter/Saturn opposition across the Money axis of this chart echoes their Conjunction of May 2000 @ '23Tau': "A Jewelry Shop Filled with Magnificent Gems"--the ones they've stolen from the US Treasury and the people's pockets and pensions, turns out.
And remember that the eclipse's "peculiar turn of events" vibe can well describe the unprecedented set up (staging) of a 'Super Congress' as if our regular government just can't handle current problems!
Meanwhile, the practical Earth Grand Trine, closed circuit energy as it is, links the high stakes planetary trio as mentioned above, with subversive, wealthy Pluto conjoining asteroid Panacea, something that seems an improvement yet does little actual good. It's all in the mind! Yet money planets Venus and Jupiter in an opportunistic trine (120 degrees) are in Mutual Reception and thus support one another in their efforts.
Now will this medicine be what we-the-people need from a power elite who buy off our Congress with fat donations and other considerations? I don't think so, though perhaps decent reform may be instituted to aid the struggling Real Estate market (Venus in 4th H, Jupiter in 8th. This would be a harmonious and welcome change which we may experience more fully once Jupiter resumes direct motion and releases some of his wealth. However, the ourrageous Republican 'Trickle Down Economics' won't work as it hasn't all along. Eight years of Bush-Cheney should be enough to convince anyone of that. And here we are.)

After receiving an eye opening comment here which included a certain rumor, I checked it out and guess what? The following disclaimer is lifted by yours truly from the website of Oregon's Rep. Pete DeFazio. Hopefully, since Stars Over Washington is a mere 'freebie blog' (no money made here, folks), no one will mind if I pass it on to get out the truth about a rumor circulating around the Internet which seems to be primarily directed at undermining the Democratic Party and President Obama as something crazy he'll 'slip in' to legislation after the election.
Now if it were true it would be unconscionable as well as traitorous to the financially overburdened American people especially with Wall Street crooks roaming free. But it isn't. This from Oregon's Rep. Peter DeFazio himself who is allegedly one of the sneaky culprits:

An internet rumor has been circulating that claims that I introduced a bill titled H.R. 4646 along with Senator Tom Harkin and that it would levy a 1 percent tax on every financial transaction including credit card transactions and even social security deposits. This is patently false. H.R. 4646 was introduced by Rep. Chaka Fattah of Pennsylvania, and has no cosponsors. I oppose this bill because it wrongly taxes all financial transactions, rather than just focusing on the Wall Street speculators who got us into this current economic mess. With the automatic 'trigger' set to fire against the dissolving American middle and working classes, this is an enterprise set up to fail, m'peops, but the failure will be primarily on the side of the American people, the sovereignty of our nation, and the health of our environment--and who knows what else the "Super Congress" will gut. A constitutional crisis is in the making as well.
Yes, secretive operatives have inherited a "Great Plan" for America which has been a long time in the making though I suspect its original intent has been somewhat diverted or hijacked by modern totalitarians of the last few decades who are motivated by a sinister lust for power and control--I say this even though our nation was founded as a corporation, yet after all, not all corporations are evil.
As for November, we must first navigate the US Saturn Return (#3 of 3 this time around) on August 28, 2011, plus, the 10th anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks. And all leading us by the nose ring into Year 2012 when the collapse has been timed by idealistic Utopians (rebel Uranus now in Aries--Ebertin) and the fabled rebuilding upon ruins begins in earnest...

Eclipses to UK natal chart trigger Crisis, Riots, Brutality
August 10, 2011: Eclipses, a Cardinal Cross, and the UK Riots

In 2010, a Solar Eclipse hit the Moon (people) in the UK natal chart and another Solar Eclipse--the 'karmic' eclipse of July 1, 2011, now in force @ 9Can12--hit (eclipsed) the UK's natal Midheaven (Public Status; Goals; Aspirations) while opposing natal Sun (leadership) in Capricorn.
Well, 'looking ahead' back in 2010, I knew that this much eclipse action to one nation's natal chart meant important events, some positive perhaps, but some negative. Yet I didn't stay with my studies of the UK chart long enough to see the violence and turmoil now in progress though astrologers realized years ago that the current Uranus/Pluto square alone would be enough to bring back riots, upheavals, and protests with similar themes from the time of the two intense planets' Great Conjunction/s of the mid-1960s. Civil Rights issues have returned if indeed they ever went away.
As we see over the globe, the Uranus/Pluto square, along with other planets and their aspects involved in the Cardinal Grand Cross of Crisis which hit the world in 2010, are resulting in uprisings, riots, and brutality. Some of the effects may be seen in the *midpoint pictures between the various planets as the elite's disenfranchisement of the masses boils over in rage and fury after the Cameron government's austerity measures were put in place as he entered Number 10 Downing Street.
In the UK "law and order is shattered", says the Washington Post today, and one thinks of the human costs first, then of the use of the word 'shattered' which points to Saturn in balanced Libra opposite rebel Uranus in Mars-ruled Aries, a brittle combination of energies that can do just that--shatter. Then Mars currently in Cancer, sign of the UK's natal Moon, is out-of-bounds, a condition which so often brings fire-setting and violence in its wake through emotional discontent by way of moody Moon-ruled Cancer.
My heart goes out to the good people of Britain, my relatives and friends, and to all who are affected by the current rioting of alienated youth (and whoever is behind this coordinated violence which leads PM David Cameron to say that images from the UK's closed circuit surveillance cameras will be published for he's determined not to "let any phony concerns about human rights get in the way."
Mr. Cameron says that the crisis is "a moral problem as much as a political problem" and I believe he is correct on that score. He attempts to point an authoritarian finger at the rioters' morals rather than at himself and his austerity measures that are causing suffering and a 'backed into a corner' feeling which is a common result of such draconian measures against a populace. Yes, Mars is touchy and OOBs and fighting back.
"It is a complete lack of responsibility in parts of our society, people allowed to feel the world owes them something, that their rights outweigh their responsibilities and their actions do not have consequences. Well, they do have consequences."
Oh, Mr. Cameron! The 'lack of responsibility' you cite also applies to a government letting down its people for the sake of the rich getting richer--who think that their "rights" to more private wealth lifted from the public sector can "outweigh their responsibilities."
Yes, actions do have consequences, and this American with British heritage wishes that you'd cared more about that fact before your 'austerity measure' actions took hope away from the youth of your country--and now your countrymen reap the consequences of the restrictive, Saturnian New World Order agenda you follow, your peoples' wishes and needs be dam*ed.
That riotous upheavals could have easily been predicted (even without Astrology!) implicates PM Cameron as one who knew that violence and societal breakdown was precisely what was being sown by the government's mean-spirited actions. And as I previously wrote concerning current conditions in Britain, another planned casualty of the current street violence may be those "phony concerns about human rights" (mid-1960s!) which Mr. Cameron so cavalierly dismisses as unworthy of consideration--with riots in the streets his alleged justification.

When the Fed's Ben Bernanke is scheduled to speak today in Washington DC at 2:15 pm edt, rising is money/big business sign Scorpio (21:40), Midheaven 2Vir38 is ruled by Mercury Rx 29Leo19 conjunct MC from 9th house and conjoining Royal Fixed Star Regulus (now @ 00Vir00), keywords: success if revenge is avoided.
Opposite the 29th-degreed (critical; crisis) Mercury is nebulous Neptune 29AQ53 Rx conjunct Chiron 3Pis00 Rx, not a stable 'base' (IC 2Pis38, ruled and co-ruled by speculators Jupiter/Neptune; 4th H = Real Estate, the millstone round our necks) so his remarks or ideas may not carry much weight. Also just entered into 4th H sizzles Uranus 4Ari12 Rx (Uranus in Aries = Utopians) conjoining the 2:15 pm chart's Part of Fortune 3Ari31.
With Mercury retrograde, Mr. Bernanke repeats what's been said before and/or reconsiders his and the board of governors' views and plans--their meeting's purpose, one assumes. As the planet of Communications, Announcements, Speeches, Trade, Commerce, and Decisions, trickster Mercury's Rx Neptunian condition may not help in the confidence department even though that is just what global markets need most at the moment.

So what about the 2nd H of Money, here ruled by bullish Jupiter, co-ruler of the 4th H of Real Estate? North Node (NN @ 22Sag11) and powerful, secretive Pluto 5Cap14 Rx snug around the Moon 28Sag41 creating a very descriptive midpoint picture of what's going on with the populace (Moon):
Pluto/NN = Moon: inhibitions in development; reaching for the big picture; ambition, or there is too much fear to take action.
Perhaps you've noticed in the news lately the word "balance"? NN conjoins Fixed Star Ras Alhague, keywords: a desire to create balance or to heal. NN = future direction, the path and you don't need Astrology to know that balance is what's required. My common good politics tell me that addressing the financial inequality gap in the US is what this indicates, yet it's precisely what the power elite seem determined to avoid--and their intransigence is triggering the Uranus/Pluto square into riots, strikes, protests, and revolution.
Opposite 2nd H in another money house, the 8th, lurks out-of-bounds Mars 4Can15 and since he is OOBs, I have no idea what he's up to, do you? Mayhem cannot be ruled out for we see his feiry actions in the Uk now. Mars rules disruptive Uranus in Aries, and the 5th H of Gambling and Risk-Taking (5th cusp 4Ari30), and is chart-ruler through Scorpio rising--see below for his applying aspects which tell how Bernanke's remarks will proceed.
In 9th H of Philosophy and Foreign Lands are Sun 16Leo49 and evaluating Venus 14Leo58 yet they are intercepted in 9th H which describes the few options for action available for ego-expansion and goals. Venus rules 6th H (Tau) and 11th H of Groups, Associations, Hopes/Wishes with Saturn posited there @ 13Lib03--poised for the third of three conjunctions with US natal Saturn (14:48) on August 28, 2011, a key date in the current American tableaux as our accountability chickens come home to roost and previous slackness surfaces to be dealt with--positively or negatively. Saturn does sextile (60 degr; opportunity) Venus but the aspect is separating.
The Beginning Is in the Ending
There are more factors worth mentioning but 2:15 pm nears so I'll close with what I should have begun with--the applying aspects of chart-ruler/s (Mars, and also Pluto, if you prefer.)
Mars:
1. opposes co-ruler Pluto across the 2/8--not so good a portent, 0A59--the initial response to Mr. Bernanke's remarks may be stalemate and disagreement; a major power play is described.
2. semi-squares Sun, a minor yet irritating relationship (2A25.)
3. opposes Moon (5A34)--wait till we-the-people get a load of what his remarks indicate--anger, annoyance, provocation.
(Another midpoint picture may fill out the scene: Moon/Pluto = Mars: too much energy not knowing where to go (or money going into gold?); frustration and anger; an intense emotional crisis. (This is only temporary, dear investors--calm down, stop whining, and step up!))
Pluto makes no other applying aspects in the chart other than the Mars/Pluto opposition and his overbearing conjunction with the Moon. The Moon/Pluto pair indicates exaggerated new plans, zeal, and/or upheavals. Zealous Mars/Pluto = excessive effort, extreme force, and/or persuasion, control, brutality.
Pluto/NN = common destiny of a large mass of people--not good, imho, with the people sandwiched between this 'connections or encounters (NN) with the powerful (Pluto.)'
This horoscope indicates to me that today's announcement concerning our nation's current economic condition and what the Fed may do next will require quite a performance from Mr. Bernanke if it's not to cause markets to react negatively.
And we-the-people are already frustrated and angry with the greedy power elite who seem determined to crash the US and global economies while gutting our valuable social safety net--today's tension-filled, emotionally volatile Moon/Uranus square shows that the American people feel we are not being given an even break in the "shared sacrifices" department--because we're not.
Well, I'm glad I'm not Fedhead today. Not that I'd ever have wanted to be a wonk for the NWO. My bet is placed squarely upon we-the-people who are now Awakening!

Someone is making tons of money! Jupiter's Station Rx on August 30, 2011 @ 10Tau20 indicates a retrenching of some kind in financial matters (and possibly in faith and ideological concepts, too.)
So what about the 2nd H of Money, here ruled by bullish Jupiter, co-ruler of the 4th H of Real Estate? North Node (NN @ 22Sag11) and powerful, secretive Pluto 5Cap14 Rx snug around the Moon 28Sag41 creating a very descriptive midpoint picture of what's going on with the populace (Moon):
Pluto/NN = Moon: inhibitions in development; reaching for the big picture; ambition, or there is too much fear to take action.
Perhaps you've noticed in the news lately the word "balance"? NN conjoins Fixed Star Ras Alhague, keywords: a desire to create balance or to heal. NN = future direction, the path and you don't need Astrology to know that balance is what's required. My common good politics tell me that addressing the financial inequality gap in the US is what this indicates, yet it's precisely what the power elite seem determined to avoid--and their intransigence is triggering the Uranus/Pluto square into riots, strikes, protests, and revolution.
Opposite 2nd H in another money house, the 8th, lurks out-of-bounds Mars 4Can15 and since he is OOBs, I have no idea what he's up to, do you? Mayhem cannot be ruled out for we see his feiry actions in the Uk now. Mars rules disruptive Uranus in Aries, and the 5th H of Gambling and Risk-Taking (5th cusp 4Ari30), and is chart-ruler through Scorpio rising--see below for his applying aspects which tell how Bernanke's remarks will proceed.
Ongoing is the oft-mentioned picture still in force: Jupiter/Neptune = Uranus: imagination v reality; coming down to earth with a bump; sudden recognition of a difficult situation.
Plus, Mars/Pluto = Uranus: sudden calamities of great consequence (the stock market plummet included and violent riots in the UK--jc); cruelty, violence, brutality; dangerous sense of attack; a chip on one's shoulder; fight first, talk later.
In 9th H of Philosophy and Foreign Lands are Sun 16Leo49 and evaluating Venus 14Leo58 yet they are intercepted in 9th H which describes the few options for action available for ego-expansion and goals. Venus rules 6th H (Tau) and 11th H of Groups, Associations, Hopes/Wishes with Saturn posited there @ 13Lib03--poised for the third of three conjunctions with US natal Saturn (14:48) on August 28, 2011, a key date in the current American tableaux as our accountability chickens come home to roost and previous slackness surfaces to be dealt with--positively or negatively. Saturn does sextile (60 degr; opportunity) Venus but the aspect is separating.
The Beginning Is in the Ending
There are more factors worth mentioning but 2:15 pm nears so I'll close with what I should have begun with--the applying aspects of chart-ruler/s (Mars, and also Pluto, if you prefer.)
Mars:
1. opposes co-ruler Pluto across the 2/8--not so good a portent, 0A59--the initial response to Mr. Bernanke's remarks may be stalemate and disagreement; a major power play is described.
2. semi-squares Sun, a minor yet irritating relationship (2A25.)
3. opposes Moon (5A34)--wait till we-the-people get a load of what his remarks indicate--anger, annoyance, provocation.
(Another midpoint picture may fill out the scene: Moon/Pluto = Mars: too much energy not knowing where to go (or money going into gold?); frustration and anger; an intense emotional crisis. (This is only temporary, dear investors--calm down, stop whining, and step up!))
Pluto makes no other applying aspects in the chart other than the Mars/Pluto opposition and his overbearing conjunction with the Moon. The Moon/Pluto pair indicates exaggerated new plans, zeal, and/or upheavals. Zealous Mars/Pluto = excessive effort, extreme force, and/or persuasion, control, brutality.
Pluto/NN = common destiny of a large mass of people--not good, imho, with the people sandwiched between this 'connections or encounters (NN) with the powerful (Pluto.)'
This horoscope indicates to me that today's announcement concerning our nation's current economic condition and what the Fed may do next will require quite a performance from Mr. Bernanke if it's not to cause markets to react negatively.
And we-the-people are already frustrated and angry with the greedy power elite who seem determined to crash the US and global economies while gutting our valuable social safety net--today's tension-filled, emotionally volatile Moon/Uranus square shows that the American people feel we are not being given an even break in the "shared sacrifices" department--because we're not.
Well, I'm glad I'm not Fedhead today. Not that I'd ever have wanted to be a wonk for the NWO. My bet is placed squarely upon we-the-people who are now Awakening!
