The Big Push is all happenin' at the state level, folks. If we've learned our lesson about neocons, endless war, and the super rich 1% who care not a fig for democracy, we've got to get with our own program and help each other out!

Here's the Wikipedia page for the Koch family. I'm sure you can sort out the two politically active siblings from there. A few astro-notes concerning them might be of interest so read on, if you wish!

Both brothers were born in Wichita, Kansas: Charles the elder on November 1, 1935 and David on May 3, 1940 with Moon either in Pisces or Aries. I'm using noon for both horoscopes in lieu of a correct birth hour, and for David, Moon in fiery Aries rather than in dreamy, compassionate Pisces. (On May 3, 1940, the transiting Moon reached Aries Point of Fame and Prominence at 8:52 am CST, and David the Libertarian has run for public office.)

Charles the elder was born with a Sun Scorpio-Moon Capricorn personality blend (Mars-Pluto; Saturn), a practical Water-Earth combination. Fanatical views both political and financial may be found within his Uranus-Pluto square (early Taurus to late Pisces, with both planets Rx and feeling their oats since 2010 via the current transiting Uranus-Pluto Cardinal Square.) Charles will be experiencing his Uranus Return around age 84, and his natal Pluto 27Can24 Rx opposes US natal Pluto 27Cap33 Rx: power v power for ultimate control.

You may remember this PE the last time it occurred on September 11, 2007, and if I had time, I'd search for what ruthless Mr. C. Koch was up to in 2007 because the info might be quite elucidating.

Public crusader Charles Koch has two apt 'Images for Integration' as given by Charles & Suzi Harvey (Sun Sign-Moon Sign): "A general leads his troops to victory...A film director plans each shot to maximize its emotional impact."

And I can't resist adding three quotes from three people who share his Sun Sco-Moon Cap blend for they might illuminate his character a bit:

And who knows who will be the next drone-wielding president with his or her ability to play judge, jury, and executioner without even a shred of probable cause or due process?

And what entity will secretly direct said president? Opportunities for abuse of the drone program are multiple--imagine what another neocon war hawk Commander-in-Chief can do--or what another government or group with hacking power can do.

So I suspect the riddle of the transiting Pluto-Chiron midpoint conjoining US Inaugural Sun (the leader; the president) for recent Inauguration ceremonies is now at least partially solved. The combination of Pluto-Chiron and its primal violence, disenfranchisement, oppression, racism, capitalism, totalitarianism, and all manner of other -isms that plague mankind is now revealed in part as the president's killer drones. If you're a target or in the wrong place at the wrong time, can it get more oppressive than that?

Yes, the imperialists' global government plan grinds on and all is done under the auspices of "keeping America safe". Their thinly veiled ruse becomes more threadbare by the minute! Is seems that Inauguration 2013's 10th house Mars (strikes, attacks, violence, war) in detached Aquarius signifies on one level drone strikes ordered by the White House and perpetrated by remote (AQ) control. And interestingly, George W. Bush ordered drone strikes while in office beginning in 2004, the year that Pluto paralleled Chiron in mid-August (parallels are like strong conjunctions and are timing devices) after their Great Conjunction in late 1999--conjunct US natal Ascendant in the 'Sibly' horoscope...at '12Sag' = "A Flag Turns Into an Eagle That Crows." Now there's that plutonian eagle again with Dubya acting under the 'authority' of the US flag. These days it's easy to find mentions of America's dynamic natal Mercury/Pluto opposition (July 4, 1776) wherever you go (iPhone/iPad tracking; GPS) or whatever you read (emails/online articles/feeds) so I'm passing on to you a link to Wendy McElroy's article which strikes just such a Big Brother, Mercury/Pluto tone so familiar to life in America.

Well, the 'Seer of Monticello'--Thomas Jefferson--is known, among other titles, as the Father of American Cryptography thanks to his lifelong interest in codes and ciphers. In fact, a Rosicrucian decoder was found amongst his effects after his demise--there was a Rosicrucian colony around Philadelphia in those days. (Founding Fathers, Secret Societies, Robert Hieronymous with Laura Cortner.)

Also mentioned in the article are the legal changes made during the Bill Clinton administration which had the May 6, 1999 court decision that 'restriction of encryption' violated the First Amendment (because it does) reversed before 1999 ended. Obviously, this end-run around our right to privacy and the First Amendment was very important to the Clintonite globalists--for then-present and all future use.

As you know, techno-backdoors are extremely useful for any sort of spying!


Then on September 30, 1999, in a blow against the First Amendment, the Clinton Gang somehow 'convinced' the court (9th Circuit Court of Appeals) to reverse the decision thus weakening a citizen's right and ability to protect himself or herself from unlawful intrusion by the US government with its longstanding Mercury/Pluto spying tendencies.

Here are some basic expression potentials of the two planets and I'm certain you can think of more:

Mercury (communications; information; thinking processes; physical senses and nerves; reporting, writing, speaking; planning; research; trading; selling; serving, etc) Rx and in Cancer opposite our powerful Capricornian Pluto (The Underworld; Criminals; Psychology and Propaganda; secrets; dangerous information; spies, surveillance and its agencies; security activities; nuclear energy and weapons; waste disposal; manipulation, control, fear; mining industry; extreme wealth; plutocrats/oligarchs; The Pope; assassins and saboteurs; the Pentagon; karmic retribution; toxins; depth and transformation.)

America's natal Mercury is in Moon-ruled Cancer (sign of the home-lover) giving us as a people intuitive capabilities, and deep interests in family matters; Pluto is ruled by structural, status quo, restricting Saturn which shows our national obsession with struggling for recognition, power, wealth, and independence--and our fascination with dangerous adventures, detective or spy intrigues, sex, and how to avoid death (our youth culture or cult.)

Mercury/Pluto in opposition is a cosmic prescription for anxiety and denotes behind-the-scenes control of what we see, hear, read, and think (mind control, one of Dr. Pluto's favorite hobbies, along with eugenics, genetic manipulation, and cloning); bossy, nosy Big Brother really moved in on us to stay during the 1930s around the time that Pluto was discovered on February 18, 1930, and in the years leading up to the 1930s including the research and practices of Drs. So what about the fabled Orwellian year 1984 and its background influences provided by the two Solar Eclipses of that year? Well, for one thing, both eclipses occurred at significant degrees:

1. May 30, 1984 @ '9Gemini' conjunct US natal Uranus 8Gem55--progressive, radical planet of Technology and The Future. This eclipse fell in the 4 North Saros Series which began on May 25, 1389 (OS) @ 12Gem08--conjunct natal Descendant in the US natal Sibly chart (July 4, 1776 5:10 pm LMT Philadelphia, PA.)

4N brings a difficult time of restriction, separation, restraint, and illusions with events that block individuals who then are prone to misjudging strengths of self and/or situation; waiting until the eclipse influences passes before taking any real action is advisable.

4N last manifested on June 10, 2002 @ '20Gem' during the Bush-Cheney regime--conjunct US natal Mars; 4N next occurs in the difficult year of 2020 at a propitious moment at Summer Solstice--June 21, 2020 @ '00Cancer', a World Point of Manifestation which was triggered at Summer Solstice 2001 @ '00Cancer'--the Pre-Natal Eclipse of 9/11/01.

This is one of the reasons that some astrologers including this one, consider the year 2020 to be a watershed opportunity for global despotism. Given all the heads of state the agency has installed, deposed, and/or assassinated through the decades and the people 'renditioned' into torture chambers, the US must have many laws allowing such actions which its citizens know nothing about (Patriot Act notwithstanding.)

The US Central Intelligence Agency's Wiki bio gives its original founding as: President Harry Truman's signing of the National Security Act on July 26, 1947 aboard what was the first presidential aircraft, the Sacred Cow. Does this make the CIA and our armed forces America's Sacred Cows? Their out-of-bounds secret budgets would seem to indicate so as they 'run the show' and set the tenor for our terror-exporting imperial plutocracy.

Now I don't know just where Truman's Sacred Cow was parked during the signing ceremony so I'm using 'Washington DC' as a location for a speculative horoscope of the birth of the CIA since I assume that Langley, VA was set up as its headquarters at some later point in time and that the signing did not occur there.

That sums up The Agency rather well, I think. As listed top right, US natal Neptune 22Vir25 (veils and deceptions) had three midpoints upon it on July 26, 1947: Saturn/Chiron ('letting go the rule of the father' - make that 'founding fathers'), Moon/Venus ('minority groups and how a country helps preserve their heritage and culture' - or not), and the oppressive, disenfranchising duo of plutocracy, Pluto/Chiron.



The explosive pair of revolution, Uranus and Pluto, are both out-of-bounds and working on their own outside the realm of the other planetary functions. South Node = '1Sag': "A Grand Army of the Republic Campfire" in the Sabian Symbols; the Mars/Uranus midpoint 21Gem03 conjoins US natal Mars (god of war); US natal Saturn 14Lib48 is rising at noon and secretive, deceptive, fraudulent Neptune 8Lib23 has just arisen as well.

This gives a Saturn/Neptune vibe to the noon ASC so here we see the 'secret' or 'invisible' (Neptune) government (Saturn)' indication mentioned in the article linked above.

CIA's Jupiter/Pluto midpoint (which is not dependent on an exact birth time) sits atop the US natal chart (Sibly; Mc 00Lib43)...Jupiter/Pluto = 'growth of security or spy agencies; self-destructive forces which stem from official corruption; greater powers for religious leaders; extreme depletion of resources; criminal elements with great social influence; destruction of legal documents; pacts with foreigners on the use of force or weapons' (Munkasey) - all of which seem to me to apply to the CIA's operations.

There is also a 'hidden square' (256 degrees) between Uranus and Neptune, the Illumination/Illuminati planets which relates to the all-seeing eye that has turned out to be all about complete surveillance of the American people and everyone else, too. (I think I feel a surveillance satellite passing over my head as I type.)

So here's what I wrote about the 'hidden square' in the US natal chart in a post concerning the use of a Scorpio Ascendant for America as a 'spy agency' or 'spying activities' natal chart. Yes, the Uranus/Neptune 'hidden square' applies to America's 1776 horoscope no matter which ASC (birth time) is used for July 4, 1776.

And as you know, among other things, the sign of Scorpio is about spying, secrets, manipulation, and betrayal, with strong-arming, clandestine, cloaks of invisibility, extreme force, and weaponry Mars/Pluto vibes. So let's close with the difficult Mars/Pluto and Mars/Saturn midpoints at Mc (The Goal) of (this version of) the CIA's natal chart...for even if noon was not the actual hour of Truman's signing of the bill, these midpoints did cross the Midheaven that day all the same...

Mars/Saturn = Mc: the power of resistance; endurance; the necessity to overcome many difficulties; silent pride; mourning and bereavement.

Mars/Pluto = Mc: dealing with might on either side of any issue; major job maneuver; confidence and ambition; danger through the intervention of a higher power; operations ('ops'); unusual capabilities for advancement in life; learning how to gain control of and use powerful or extreme measures for increasing your standing or stature; principles that propel you to success; fulfilling certain ambitions by attaining influence.

As this disturbing article makes very clear, Big Brother is only a ping or a mouse-click away from where you sit.

Now Stars Over Washington, if it were read in Washington DC, would be fairly unpopular amongst governmental fear mongers, I'm quite certain, for this blogger is disdainfully distrusting of their 'New World Order' agenda. What the NSA can tell about me personally online is more than I'd like to reveal to strangers, I'm sure, though I've never been much of a 'joiner'...no odd memberships entered into around here and none sought.

However, I am a *Daughter of the American Revolution with Cherokee ancestry and I don't take kindly to the totalitarian direction this nation is being taken.

As I've typed many times before, America is my only nag in the race.

But my America does not include those who would usurp our government and dissolve US sovereignty. In my book, this makes those who would do these things traitors - not US citizens like me who care about America's future over that of the global syndicate and its agenda for world domination which now bedevils us. We are not the traitors!

So oversee my measly mouse-clicks, Big Brother. You won't find much more than a dissenting American woman past her prime who likes to offer all sorts of info on her blog about your doings...and the more secretively you go about your devilish plans, the better I like to reveal them.

Now tell me again: who honestly thought that a President Obama would be any different on these privacy-surveillance issues?

Shuttle Atlantis launches 2.7.08 2:45 pm est

After 2 months of delay, the shuttle Atlantis has been launched today from Cape Canaveral, FL at 2:45 pm est as scheduled.

With deception and espionage smeared all over the chart of this long-awaited mission--ostensibly to take Europe's science lab, Columbus, to join the Internatioanl Space Station (a surveillance command satellite if there ever was one) today's launch may be considered a jolly accomplishment by some, another link in the spying chain to others.

Asteroid Icarus 5AQ54 is conj US natal South Node which is at "Medina" degree and if you're a consiracy theorist as myself, you'll recognize the degree as Islam's Neptune Return on 9/11/01. This was Neptune's position when Mohammed entered Medina, thus the name of the 6-7 AQ degree area. Icarus has unfortunate connections with assassination but let's not go there.

With Mercury (air flight) being Rx and conj Chiron 16AQ00, there may be disrupted communications at the least, and I hope that's their only trouble, difficult as that would be for such a flight...launched within hours after a Solar Eclipse.

Suffice it to say, there is much Neptunian action in this chart...secretive Neptune of subterfuge and veils, plus, there's Pluto of the invisible helmet--spying and sabotage are his specialities. Pluto is still on the World Point of 00Cap22.

Neptune 21AQ26 is conj three midpoints which give these pictures (Tyl; Ebertin):

Moon/Mercury = Neptune: falsehood; exposure to lies and calumny; wrong notions and whims.

Now I don't wish difficulty upon such projects (overly ambitious as they may be) yet I admit to not believing that they're only what they are purported to be. Honorable science experiments? Pshaw.

Now there is one lovely midpoint pic which may indicate a safe mission--

Jupiter/Mc = Mercury: large scale projects and ventures; a wealth of thoughts; far reaching thoughts; successful plans. (A direct Mercury would be more helpful here.)

At 2:45 pm est, asteroid Pallas (keyword: strategy) crossed the top of the chart, the Midheaven (Mc)--the Goal/Aspiration Point of the launch. Opposite at the Ic at that moment (Ic = the Foundation or Basis of the matter) lurks America's natal Neptune. Idealistic Neptune more often brings dissolution, confusion, insecurity--and veiling.

Asteroid Atlantis is at a critical 29th degree: 29Libra31 in 5th house of risk-taking. Well, space travel of any sort is just that, isn't it?

Uranus 16Pis59 is connected to space travel, science, and technology, and has just crossed Mc near Fixed Star, Ahernar, "risk of rapid endings" yet Achernar may also bring success. We've recently seen Uranus' disruptive ability with internet cables cut under the sea (Pisces) and I'd been wondering for some time where that would occur...more of that disruption may be forthcoming.

At 2:45 pm, 5Can54 is rising along with US natal Jupiter at the "6Can" degree--"Gamebirds feathering their nests."

Wish my intuition said otherwise, but the International Space Station is overhead to pluck out the feathers of the masses for lining those royal nests--and for reporting back to our Orwellian controllers with state-of-the-art spy technology.

Chart-ruler Moon 26AQ38 makes an applying conj to tr North Node--today is the US' Moon Return--with tr NN about to conjunct natal Moon. There will probably be quite a bit of publicity about this mission...but not in a negative way, I hope.

Today's Ceres ("security" in a national chart) is at 14Tau34, the degree of the Inaugural ASC each Jan 20, DC, noon = the office of the president.

The next and only other applying aspect made by today's launch Moon is a helpful and enabling sextile to...sneaky Pluto. See what I mean?

RESTORE Act

Setting the Record Straight on FISA: a letter from John Conyers

In recent weeks, there has been lot of conflicting information floating around
about efforts by House Democrats to protect the country by adopting rules for intelligence gathering that are both flexible and constitutional. This week, President Bush suggested that my legislative alternative to this summer's hastily-enacted Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) reform, the "Protect America Act," would take away important tools from our intelligence community.

He characterized as "obstruction" the skepticism that many of us have about granting amnesty to telecommunications carriers who may have cooperated in warrantless surveillance. I was disappointed that the President did not propose any concrete steps to improve our capabilities or protect our freedoms--he just repeated his demand for immunity.

This comes close on the heels of a recent controversy concerning the House Democrats' FISA legislation stemming from Joe Klein's column in Time Magazine on Nov 21 in which his Republican sources seem to have spun a tale that led Mr.Klein to characterize our efforts as "more than stupid."

I believe that it is time for a comprehensive and detailed response to the President's accusations of obstruction, the misinformation in the Time Magazine column, and the debate over warrantless surveillance.

Below is that response. Please let me know what you think, and feel free to pass along to your friends and colleagues.

Joe Klein's recent column deriding the House-passed FISA legislation along with his subsequent stumbling efforts to clarify its intent, and Time Magazine's failure to publish the protests my Democratic colleagues and I had regarding its many inaccuracies are only the most recent manifestation of disinformation put forth concerning the Bush Administration's warrantless surveillance program and legislative efforts to modify the law.

As the lead author, along with Silvestre Reyes, of the RESTORE Act, allow me to set the record straight once and for all.

First,contrary to GOP and media spin, the RESTORE Act does not grant "terrorists the same rights as Americans." Section 105A of the RESTORE Act explicitly provides that foreign-to-foreign communications are totally exempt from FISA–-clearly, this exception for foreigners such as members of Al Qaeda does not apply to Americans.

In cases involving foreign agents where communications with Americans could be picked up, Section 105B of the legislation provides for liberalized "basket warrant" procedures by which entire terrorist organizations can be surveilled without the need to obtain individual warrants from the FISA court.

Again, this new authority is aimed at foreign terrorists, not Americans.

Mr. Klein appears to base much of his criticism of our bill on our use of the term "person" to describe who may be surveilled, based on the suggestion of a Republican "source" that this risks an interpretation that terrorist groups would not be covered. The truth is that under FISA the term person has been clearly defined for almost thirty years to include "any group, entity, association, corporation, or foreign power."

It is also notable that both the RESTORE Act, and the Administration's bill
passed this summer, contain the exact same language that Mr. Klein questions,
yet we've never heard an objection to the Administration's bill on this score.

Second, I must strongly disagree with Mr. Klein's assertion that the Speaker "quashed...a bipartisan [compromise] effort."

As the Chairman of the Committee with principal jurisdiction over FISA, the House Judiciary Committee, I am aware of no effort to prevent bipartisan compromise on this issue.

As a matter of fact, last summer, beginning in July, Democrats tirelessly negotiated with Director of National Intelligence (DNI), Mike McConnell, to develop consensus legislation to address the Administration's stated concerns about our intelligence capability.

We addressed every one of the concerns Mr. McConnell raised.

He said he needed to clarify that a court order was not required for foreign-to-foreign communications--our bill did just that. McConnell said he needed an assurance that telecommunications companies would be compelled to assist in gathering of national security information-–our bill did that. The DNI said he needed provisions to extend FISA to foreign intelligence in addition to terrorism-- the bill did that.

He asked us to eliminate the requirement that the FISA Court adjudicate how recurring communications to the United States from foreign targets would be
handled–-the bill did that. McConnell insisted that basket warrants be structured to allow additional targets to be added after the warrant was initially approved – again, the bill did that. When this legislation was described to DNI McConnell, he acknowledged that "it significantly enhances America's security.''

Yet, suddenly, on the eve of the vote, Director McConnell withdrew his support
after consultation with the White House. If the media wanted to identify over-the-top partisanship, they could begin by citing the declaration of David Addington, Vice President Cheney's Chief of Staff, that "We're one bomb away from getting rid of that obnoxious FISA Court," and DNI McConnell's assertion that by merely having an open debate on surveillance, "some Americans are going to die."

Third, the RESTORE Act legislation is badly needed to provide accountability to the Bush Administration's unilateral approach to surveillance. The warrantless surveillance program has been riddled with deceptions that only began to come to light when The New York Times first disclosed the existence of the program in 2005. The program itself appears to directly violate FISA and the Fourth Amendment, as a federal court, the non-partisan Congressional Research Service, numerous Republican legislators, and independent legal scholars have found.

The Administration has also mischaracterized the existence, degree, extent and nature of the program itself as well as how much information it has shared with Congress. For instance, compare the President's speech in 2004 with his admission that there was indeed a program of warrantless surveillance. When high-ranking DOJ officials found the program lacking, the White House went to absurd, if not comical lengths, to convince a dangerously ill and hospitalized Attorney General Ashcroft
to overrule them.

Even today, the Administration continues to obscure its own past misconduct with extravagant claims that the "state secrets" doctrine bars any legal challenges whatsoever--a position that has been rejected by the Court of Appeals.

The Administration's hastily enacted legislation, signed this summer, is little better. Instead of being limited to the stated problem of foreign-to-foreign electronic surveillance, it could apply to domestic business records, library
files, personal mail, and even searches of our homes. Against that backdrop, it is clear we need a new law with the critical oversight provisions included in the RESTORE Act, such as requiring the Administration to turn over relevant documents to Congress, mandating periodic Inspector General reports, and acknowledging that the Administration is indeed bound by FISA.

Finally, the Administration has yet to explain why offering retroactive immunity to telephone giants who may have participated in an unlawful program is vital to our national security. Under current law, the phone companies can easily avoid liability if they can establish they received either an appropriate court order or legal certification from the Attorney General.

Asking Congress to grant legal immunity at a time when the Administration has refused to provide the House of Representatives with relevant legal documents for more than eleven months is not only unreasonable, it is irresponsible.

Civil liberties and national security need not be contradictory policies, rather they are inexorably linked. Perhaps nowhere is this interrelationship more true
than in intelligence gathering, where information must be reliable and untainted by abuse to be useful.

So when we discuss FISA, the first thing we need to do is drop the partisan rhetoric, and stick to the actual record. Under the RESTORE Act, the intelligence community has the flexibility to intercept communications by foreign terrorists without obtaining individual warrants, and the Court and Congress are given the authority to perform their constitutional oversight roles.

The only parties who lose in this process are the terrorists, and those who want the executive branch to have absolute and unreviewable power.

Rather than being, in Mr. Klein's words, "well beyond stupid," the RESTORE Act offers a smart and well balanced approach to updating FISA and reining in the excesses of an unchecked executive branch.
