Great American Eclipses of 1878, 2017, and 2024

Eclipses affect History so as I await delivery of author and science writer David Baron's book American Eclipse: A Nation's Epic Race to Catch the Shadow of the Moon and Win the Glory of the World concerning the Solar Eclipse of July 29, 1878 @6Leo33 (conjunct US natal North Node!), I'm posting below brief astrological details on the themes of the 1878 eclipse, The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 @28Leo52 (conjunct the natal Ascendant of Mr. Trump--ASC = physical body--the fool who daringly removed his safety glasses to stare at it), and the next Great North American Eclipse of April 8, 2024 @19Ari24--precisely conjunct transit Chiron @19Ari24.

All three eclipses were/are Total and their themes listed below paraphrase those found in Brady's Predictive Astrology:

July 29, 1878 6 South themes: 'being forceful; taking power; huge efforts in a group activity; sudden events; manic energy'. The group of eclipse chasers, which included Thomas Edison, were determined to put fledgling America on the scientific map and their activities boosted our nation's standing in the world and romanticized US expansion into the 'Wild Wild West'. A 6 South eclipse will next manifest on October 25, 2022 @2Scorpio.

August 21, 2017 1 North themes: 'unexpected events put great pressure on relationships via issues that loom large; fatigue or health problems are attached; make no hasty decisions because information is distorted or possibly false'. (The 1 North Saros Series is 'The Mother of All Eclipses' and a repeat of the August 1999 'King of Terror' eclipse which some folks link to the predictions of Nostradamus--and of course we think of the attacks of 9/11 and the engendered fear, paranoia, hasty decisions, and the propagandized 'war on terror' that resulted.) The next eclipse in the 1 North series will perfect on September 2, 2035 @9Virgo.

April 8, 2024 8 North themes: 'flashes of genius and inventiveness; dreams and visions; insights and new-found inspiration which can temporarily pull people away from relationships and cause strain in their private lives'. The next 8 North after 2024? Not until April 20, 2042 @00Taurus, a degree where 'wild card' planet Uranus hangs around these days.

Of course, all that being said on August 7, 2018, we must first deal with events over the next few months or more brought to us by a Universal 'wild card' via The Tower Solar Eclipse which soon perfects on August 11, 2018 @18Leo41 with its 'collapse of plans or lifestyles' and 'rebuilding after the dust settles' theme which may very well relate to tower-builder Donald Trump, Trump Jr, and/or other of Trump's cronies and enablers, both foreign and domestic.

Trump Neglects Presidential Oath to Defend the Constitution So We Must Do It

The US Constitution's Progressed New Moon is a symbolic marker for the seeding of a new phase of activity and perfects one day prior to the 2018 Midterms when American voters must roar back their rejection of the alt-right and ring-wing instigators and infiltrators now seeking to radically reform our Constitution. Revoking the Seventeenth Amendment, which would be a regression to prevent voters from electing US senators, and shoving a Voter ID law into the 'freedom' document are but two of the reforms they intend under the misleading guise of "The Liberty Amendments." Now protecting the US Constitution is but one of many reasons to Vote Democrat on November 6, 2018--not because all Democrats are groovy but because corporate Republicans suck at democracy and prefer Russia to the America most Americans intend to keep, thanks very much, even while Trump voters follow him off a cliff into the abyss of totalitarianism. Meanwhile, the ongoing alliance between 'economic royalists' like Trump, the Kochs, the Mercers, and their handmaidens in the Republican Party and abroad have the US Constitution in their sights.

But with a massive wave of Democratic votes from the millennial generation and women voters, We The People can stop these anti-constitutional chaos agents at the November 6, 2018 barricade!

Natal Horoscopes of Capone-Manafort-Trump

August 2, 2018: Now that the tweeter-in-chief has compared his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort with Chicago gangster and tax-dodger Al Capone you know a comparison between their natal horoscopes had to occur. Below is a bi-wheel with Capone's C-rated natal chart in the center and Paul Manafort's 'noon' chart, outer. Penciled around the charts are some interesting links between Al Capone's planets and those of Donald Trump. As you see, Mr. Trump's Sun-NN-Uranus trio opposite his natal Moon-SN is prominently showcased on Capone's natal MC-IC axis:

The more stand-out links are Manafort's natal Jupiter conjunct Capone's Sun (28Capricorn--conjunct US natal Pluto), Manafort's natal Chiron 8Sag58 Rx (the wound and blind spot) conjunct Capone's natal Chiron 9Sag34, Capone's natal Jupiter 8Sco06 conjunct Manafort's Prenatal Solar Eclipse degree (4 South themes = 'strong emotions about money and/or relationships; a sense of fated events; frustrating blocks; sudden desire to end a relationship'). I won't mention Capone's Mars 29Can16 (Rx, OOBs, and at critical degree) conjunct Manafort's Ascendant since Manafort's chart is speculatively set for 'noon'. But we need no accurate birth time for Mr. Manafort to see Al Capone's Sun shining upon the natal Jupiter of extravagant spender and tax-dodger Paul Manafort during his current trial, thanks to the tweet-in-chief's (helpful?) efforts.

Plus, you see that Manafort's natal Saturn 00Vir04 Rx conjoins royal star Regulus (success if revenge is avoided)--and conjoins Trump's natal Ascendant and, by extension, his rising Mars in Leo. This link suggests that Manafort will 'stick' (Saturn) with Trump (ASC) and not turn state's evidence, even if convicted, but we'll see since 69-year-old Manafort's prospect of dying in prison may be a prison cell too far.

Also note that Al Capone's Syzygy Moon is his Prenatal Eclipse ('PE') 21Cap33 in the violent 9 New North Saros Series (conjunct Trump's natal Vertex!) and is the same series as that of Alexander Hamilton's PE, as already discussed.

On the Prenatal Solar Eclipse of Alexander Hamilton

Because of the uncertainty of the birth data of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton I've never properly posted his natal horoscope or made much mention of him astrologically here on Stars Over Washington. However, there are multiple rectified versions of his natal chart for the curious if you wish to have a look at them or at his noon chart. His early childhood on the Island of Nevis has been subject to speculation through the years although more seems to be known these days. Here's his Wikipedia bio page if you're interested and a view of his 'noon' chart is available here. The version I tend to favor is a rectified chart (by Dr. "H") set for January 11, 1755 1:23:37 pm Charlestown, Nevis with ASC 19Tau53 and MC 9AQ20--and lots of Capricorn planets suitable for the man who championed America's national banking system, served as our first Secretary of the Treasury, and more.

The Age-Old Question: Who's Your Daddy?

In the natal chart I favor, Hamilton's natal Neptune @7Leo47 Rx, leader of a Locomotive shape of planets (toward success), conjoins his IC which describes Hamilton's mysterious beginnings or roots. Plus, rising is Taurus, a money sign (the Taurean 'Bull of bullish Wall Street') and an Aquarian Midheaven, the Aspiration and Career Point, brings in humanitarian or social work which resonates with his natal Uranus inconjunct Neptune aspect that identifies his generation as fighting social ills and becoming involved in political work. This aspect (150 degrees) between the two planets of The Enlightenment (and of the NWO, as their energies have since been directed) was also in effect from 1922 through 1928. And as you know, they last conjoined three times in 1993 @18Capricorn..."POLITICAL POWER...neg: smug or strong-armed paternalism" - Jones. Of course, paternalism is how America began by the Founding Fathers and what is now 'on steroids' under dictator-wannabe Trump.

Yet there are horoscopes relating to Alexander Hamilton which can be accurately timed without doubt. One is the chart of his Prenatal Solar Eclipse ('PE') which perfected @22Lib35 on October 15, 1754 in the 9 New North Saros Series. This is a difficult series containing potentials for physical violence, accidents, and great physical effort (Brady). (A 9 New North last perfected in 2007 and will again in 2025.) His 1754 PE horoscope contains a YOD pattern (crisis; turning point; crossroads; special task; spiritual opportunity) with Neptune sextile North Node (understanding of cultural trends but evading them) at its base pointing toward natal Uranus @7Pis49 Rx. As you know, astrological Uranus can be crisis-prone on its own so when rivals Hamilton and Burr met with pistols in 1804, transit Pluto Rx, god of Hades, had been in process of conjoining Hamilton's natal Uranus with Uranus-Pluto combinations always explosive and often daring and foolhardy.

Now the YOD in his natal PE chart may be read as a midpoint picture: Neptune-NN = Uranus: unrestrained self-will; upset over the anti-social conduct of others; a sudden undermining or destruction of relationships. Add transit Pluto to Uranus' place in the picture on July 11, 1804 7:00 am Weehawken, NJ and Hamilton encountered potentials for: exercising a bad influence upon associations between people and/or the breakdown of a relationship between people living together (Ebertin). Tragically, sudden death by duel or any other means can do that to a man and his family.

Bitter Rivals

As for the 1804 duel's PE, it manifested on February 11, 1804 @21AQ36 in the 4 North Saros Series with themes of: illusion, restraint, restriction, separation, events that block, and people who are prone to misjudge their strength or the situation. These themes sum up conditions and events around the Hamilton-Burr duel rather well, I think, especially since at 7:00 am LMT in Weehawken, vengeful Venus in proud Leo was rising and shooter Mars was at the critical-crisis 29th degree of Taurus.

A solar eclipse in the 4 North series last perfected in 2002 @20Gemini (conjunct US natal Mars and Trump's natal North Node) and will manifest next as the Summer Solstice Solar Eclipse of 2020.

August 2018: Is Trump's Mojo Wilting?

Based on Donald Trump's dismally dropping support among Midwestern voters some pundits are saying that the Trump-Putin 'Summit' in Helsinki, Finland with its anti-America flavor was a turning point in Trump's popularity if not his White House tenure. Is Trump's mojo wilting? we might ask. Did it have far to fall in the first place? Are tall towers phallic enough for him?

Well, I posted on the Helsinki 'summit' at the time as Trump reporting to Putin and sad to say, nothing has occurred or been said since that changes my personal opinion as an American on the unacceptable circumstance of Trump sucking up to Russia's Putin. And keep it under your babushka that no matter how Trump and Putin behave or what they say, Putin's long-term plan to collapse the USA is on-track and thriving with a compromised Donald Trump in the White House and the white supremacist Republican Party all-in on the global government game.

For as we saw with transit Pluto recently reaching the 1993 Uranus-Neptune Conjunction degree of 18Capricorn (NWO/POLITICAL POWER: smug or strong-armed paternalism--Jones) under Trump, 'the big picture must be followed, very little option to do otherwise' (Tyl). This makes me wonder who's Putin's boss behind the scenes! Does the name begin with Rothschild?

August 2018: Minor Progressed Midpoints of Mr Trump

So much has been written and prognosticated about the deteriorating mental health of Donald Trump that a peek at his Minor Progressions seemed like an interesting idea. Yes, I've progressed his natal chart in this way before but today I'm progressing it to the date of The Tower Solar Eclipse @18Leo41 which promises collapse and rebuilding of some sort and perfects within Trump's natal 12th house of Politics, Karma, and Self-Undoing--and because the Trump name is closely associated with the towers he builds and those he longs to build.

With Minor Progressions on a particular date describing what's happening on the mental plane (via the 27:13:1 ratio = we think 27 times faster than we act, and have a feeling about a thought 13 times faster than we act on it ...Tertiary Progressions/emotional plane...and '1' being our Secondary Progressions or the physical plane), Trump's Minor Progressions on August 11, 2018 may be of interest. As usual, any, all, or none may apply but can be activated by transits and/or other progressions so see what you think given what you know about the difficulties Admiral Bone Spurs is going through these days--midpoint info is quoted from Ebertin's The Combination of Stellar Influences, angular pictures are listed first:

Moon-Neptune = Ascendant (@22Sag59 conjunct his natal Moon-SN, a melancholy indicator itself): an unstable personality; dependency upon all environmental influences; ability or faculty to see through other people; associations with sensitive, weak, or sick people.

Saturn-North Node = ASC: an inhibited person with a desire for seclusion; suffering under difficulties with other persons (kindred); separation.

Saturn-Neptune = MC (@15Lib17--his natal Saturn-Neptune midpoint conjoins natal ASC showing an emotionally depressing childhood and/or oppressive family circumstances): a peculiar character; frequent change of mood; wavering between materialistic and idealistic inclinations; emotional suffering; the state of illness.

Mercury-Pluto = Saturn (10Lib04): quarrelsome nature; nagging character; irritability; skepticism; nervous irritation through overwork; exposure to heavy and bitter attacks.

Neptune-Pluto = Mars (20Vir01): lack of energy; the misfortune to be used as a tool for other people's interests; lack of resistance and stamina; tendency to succumb to external powers; being utilized as a medium.

Venus-Uranus = Pluto (21Leo29): a high degree of excitability; blind love.

Summer Solstice Solar Eclipses 2001 and 2020

July 30, 2018: here you see a dual image of two horoscopes of the Summer Solstice 2001 Solar Eclipse and the Summer Solstice Solar Eclipse of 2020. In 2001, the eclipse perfected on June 21 @00Can10 and was the Prenatal Eclipse of the WTC attacks on 9/11/01. In 2020 an eclipse will manifest on June 21 @00Can21. Both charts are set for Washington DC as representative of America. The two eclipses are 'time links' by degree, not by Saros Series.

Note that in Political Astrology I tend to work with eclipses symbolically by degree, sign, stars, sensitive and critical degrees, etc. For as you know, eclipses affect history by expressing through individuals via an eclipse's links to a person's natal chart and planets. Those who are in an eclipse's path of visibility may 'feel' the effects more strongly, yes, but even if one is located 'out of the path', eclipses occur and have influence even so. For one thing, an eclipse manifests approximately every 18.6 years in the same Saros Series as the series a person is born into (their Prenatal Eclipse or 'PE') so whether a person is located at the time in path of visibility or not, it's 'their' personal eclipse. An example is the recent solar eclipse on July 12, 2018 @21Cancer in Mr. Trump's 2 Old North Saros Series which occurred while he was abroad and perfected two days prior to his 'Helsinki Summit' with Mr. Putin. That 2 Old North themes of 'unfortunate news' and 'separation' affected Trump personally seems apparent to me if not you.

That said, here are the horoscopes of the 2001 Summer Solstice Eclipse and the upcoming Summer Solstice Eclipse of June 21, 2020 with my usual messy notes scribbled upon:

Now as you know, 00Cancer, a critical degree, is one of the four Cardinal Points of Manifestation denoting events occurring on the world stage and this alone makes an eclipse upon this degree significant. Will a similar attack be heralded by the 2020 eclipse? They say history doesn't repeat but it rhymes yet I'm not prognosticating such a game-changing terrorist assault. Even so, most folks feel that major shifts are occurring now across the globe--politically and in the physical world via natural (and man made) disasters--and leaders tend to wage wars when they feel their domestic support waning. So with the chaos-loving Uranian Trump's quixotic finger on The Button, who would care to guess how he'll 'jump' in 2020--or even this afternoon?

As you see, the 2001 eclipse (upper, right) occurred in the 3 North Saros Series with themes of: 'news involving young people and/or news that transforms a situation; information that causes worry and obsession; large plans are undertaken which may be over-excessive'. Past 3 North eclipses are PEs for the likes of the CIA, William Howard Taft, James Monroe's second inauguration, John Quincy Adams, Hillary Clinton, and J.K. Rowling. Its initial manifestation occurred on October 10, 991 @22Gem06 (conjunct US natal warrior planet Mars--and Donald Trump's natal Sun, btw, engaged in a trio with his natal North Node and guiding planet, Uranus). Soon a 3 North eclipse will 'come again' on July 2, 2019 @11Cancer--among America's natal Cancerian trio of Venus, Jupiter, and Sun. Of course, Venus and Jupiter relate to finances, currencies, and money supply, the Sun to leadership.

The Summer Solstice Eclipse of 2020 perfects in the 4 North Saros Series. Its difficult themes are: 'illusions, restriction, inhibition, separation; events seem to block individuals who tend to misjudge strengths or situations; take no real action until the influence of the eclipse passes'. The initial 4 North eclipse occurred on May 25, 1389 @12Gem08, a position some see as America's natal Descendant. Interestingly, 4 North is the PE of: George Washington, George Soros, Prince Harry, the State of Israel, and Katy Perry.

Solar Eclipses in Gemini and Cancer

So the 2001 and 2020 solar eclipses in Moon-ruled Cancer (plus, Trump's in July 2018) should be viewed through a Mercurial Gemini lens due to their initial manifestations. An eclipse in Gemini spotlights logic, fluency, and the coherent expression of ideas. Negative traits include superficiality, loquaciousness, and caprice along with a tendency to communicate without forethought. Those born under a Gemini eclipse may tend toward garbled sentence structure, splintered positions, and duplicity. Unsurprisingly, Donald Trump's PE occurred in 1946 @9Gemini (conjunct US natal Uranus, our 'war and revolution' planet of shocks and chaos.) The gathering of information is also a Gemini eclipse influence along with gossip, news, and a dependence on poll-taking, all of which relate to Trump.

Solar eclipses in sensitive, receptive Cancer are associated with imagination, emotional extremes, emotional withdrawal (Cancer, the Crab hiding in its shell), karmic family ties, psychic ability, shrewd business moves, and an interest in Genealogy.

Well, that's all I shall type for now on 3 North and 4 North except to remind myself that all eclipses are 'wild card of the Universe' and 'cosmic blinks' which affect human history and individuals with their game-changing energies that are very similar to planet Uranus in its capacity to disrupt, separate, and reveal hidden factors which may be extremely inconvenient for all those involved.

Now here is an interesting video by reallygraceful concerning the mysterious Georgia Guidestones near Elberton, Georgia. Yes, Georgia is my native state yet have never ventured north to check out the monument, the so-called 'American Stonehenge." August 2018 Eclipse Spotlights The Unmasking!

Did the Helsinki 'Summit' Get Most People's Attention Finally?

This may be significant: assuming that we can depend on Sabian Symbols to have meaning in and for the Collective, the difficult August 11, 2018 Solar Eclipse @19Leo opposes by degree and sign (Leo-AQ) what at the time I was prone to calling, The Unmasking Eclipse because it manifested in the 10 North series on February 7, 2008 @18AQ, the "A Man Unmasked" degree.

Naturally, the year '2008' is well known for America's world-shaking financial collapse and subsequent heist but that's not the topic of this post. The symbol for '18 Aquarius' as described by Dane Rudhyar and Marc Edmund Jones is the topic for its themes resemble current events and are being triggered via opposition from the August 2018 eclipse @19Leo. In a comparison of the two eclipse charts there are many more planetary and cyclic factors involved, of course, but here's the gist of '18AQ" in relation to Donald Trump being unmasked as the __, a __, or the __ (fill in the blank) we didn't want in the White House even as Mr. Putin is now unmasked as Trump's handler, or, as some would reluctantly say, his boss:

"Keynote: The difficulty for the modern individual to keep secret his private past or his deeper motives." This symbol may also "refer to the publicizing of past behavior" and it mentions "innumerable governmental agencies " that are "nearly always able to find access to remains or records of past actions..." Sounds like serenades by old-baggage-handling Trump, KGB-er Putin, and embarrassing Kremlin intel with shades of Michael Cohen's years' worth of records haunting around the edges. And toss in the 'Trump tariffs and trade wars' that, eyed clearly, seem to be intended for the purposes of losing American jobs and crashing the US economy, a further weakening of our nation at Putin's direction--in retaliation for the Fall of the Soviet Union (1991--over-confidently billed as the "End of Communism").

Jones: '18AQ' = "A Man Unmasked"...

This symbol "demands that each person make a public accounting of himself whenever the general welfare requires it. Life becomes a laboratory for an immortal curiosity. Keyword: ANALYSIS." Positive expression: "a considered self-dedication to greater and more wonderful reasons for being"; negative/unconscious/shadow side: "self-betrayal through exceptional ineptitude." (My italics and bolds.)

Public accounting? Long overdue, including Trump's tax returns, but perhaps Mr. Mueller can help us with that. General welfare? Naturally, We The People value it but a mask-free Trump now informs us that he prefers Russia over America, so if confronted he'll probably pretend not to have heard of the concept nor will he respond to the shouted question!

Curiously, the nation's Sun @20Can58 (8th house) was precisely eclipsed on July 12, 2018 (20Can41) while Trump was overseas readying to rendezvous with Putin in Helsinki--and this July eclipse fell into Trump's Prenatal Eclipse Series, the 2 Old North, with themes of 'unfortunate news, separations, or endings', and 'quick action can bring good results'. The upcoming August 2018 Solar Eclipse ('The Tower') @19Leo in the 2 New North Series perfects upon Montenegro's 9th house Mars-Uranus midpoint with Sun-ruled Leo intercepted (Solar Fire v9; Tropical; Placidus System).
