Midpoint pictures of a Neptunian GOP: Crossing the Great Water

As you know, the Republican Party, founded in 1854 with Neptune in mid-Pisces, experienced its first-ever Neptune Return, a multiple affair occurring in 2017 into 2018 - the "Trump years." These days, a few pundits have noted that the party is circling the drain, a perfect metaphor describing the dissolution, loss, and ending of what was once an actual political party, now morphed into a Trumpish death cult of violence. These watery circumstances inspire my use of the above image with which to begin this post:

With messenger planet Mercury now retrograde, here's a review and a quote from a vintage SO'W post written and published way back in 2013 (sans edits) which then contained a video that's no longer available for viewing. Remaining, however, is a bit of Astrology concerning the 1854 horoscope and planets of origin of the Republican Party which may be of interest considering the current GOP/maga cult's extreme, seditious behavior against the Federal Government, and their vile threats and acts of violence against Americans who reject their fascist views on behalf of a democratic America:

As you may already know, there's an interesting midpoint picture in the GOP natal horoscope which to my way of thinking, applies closely and basically to their current modus operandi and it involves the 'confused, confusing, or hidden self image' duo of Sun and Neptune:

Sun-Neptune = Uranus: upsets caused by ignoring reality while dreaming; indifference toward others (M.M.).

Now feel free to disagree with me on this (as always!) but both potentials contained within this midpoint picture when added together undergird much of the anti-governing Republicans' lack of good faith behavior these days and in other days when things don't go their way enough to suit their massive egos.

After all, the party's current progressions show another descriptive midpoint picture: Saturn-Pluto = North Node (future direction): a destiny about holding or abusing power. (Michael Munkasey.) And what the Republican Party with their austerity measures has in mind for the future of the American people is found nestled within this midpoint picture's analysis by Reinhold Ebertin: the misery of the masses.

Of course in 2023, what conveniently muddies the waters for many Americans, too busy or apathetic to pay much if any attention to politics, is the fact that Republicans and Democrats 'switched' parties thanks to tricky Richard Nixon's and Barry Goldwater's campaign ploy called the Southern Strategy which turns up in a previous post concerning the The Dixiecrats of 1948. You'll find Tricky Dick's crabby claws involved with 1948's Dixiecrats linked directly to 1968's Southern Strategy.

And whether FDR actually said it or he didn't, my years residing in Washington DC and studying our blighted politics makes it clear to me that, to paraphrase the famous quote: Nothing in politics happens by accident; if it happens you can can bet it was meant to happen. And I must add that timing is the primary ingredient for success, as DC astrologers well know. For only Astrology adds timing to an analysis.

So all this for me begs a question or two:

Are We the People mere pawns in what has essentially become only a One Party System of Politics with one side playing the devil's advocate role in order to create the appearance that our grievances are at least being heard? Is this why progressed policies that would improve our lives have become so difficult to pass into law because 'the fix is in', the ultimate result of the game already determined? Was this starkly revealed in 2017 when transit Pluto reached the 1993 Uranus-Neptune Conjunction (the 'nwo' duo of Enlightenment) with its potential for: "The big picture commands a certain course of action which must be followed; little option to do otherwise"? If this is even partially so, then tragically the GOP's current shove toward fascism and nazism can turn out to be a cosmic picture of America circling the drain, to be drowned in Grover Norquist's infamous bath tub, and it will include, to the world's sorrow, the drowning of democracy. Yet this will be made easier for them if we let Republicans win in 2024.

Besides, years ago Grover revealed the GOP's plan for America. Didn't you believe him?

Sept 12, 2019 Democratic Debate: All About The Biden?

First, a few bio details concerning the Biden family. Next a glance at the natal horoscope of Joseph Biden if needed where you'll see the 2020 Democratic candidate's Midheaven, the Goal and Career Point, @19Vir54, suggesting a debate performance Thursday night during which Joe will shine in some way because the debate Sun @19Vir53 spotlights his Goal and Career Point in a positive way and allows his objectives and goals to be visible to all. Plus, with the debate held in Houston, Texas, Joe's natal Ascendant (self; physical body) @3Sag11 will rise as the debate begins, again an indicator of being placed in the spotlight, featured, and/or favored in some way. (By voters would be good! I'm for anyone but Spanky!)

However, all is not harmony and light for Joe Biden for there are a few cosmic flies in the political ointment on debate night and thereafter although they may be kept in a jar behind the curtain, yet perhaps they're worth mentioning. For one thing, Biden's natal Midheaven has always bothered me because a certain fixed star shines there--Denebola with key potentials: to go against society; against the mainstream. Years ago I put down the first potential as his membership in secretive groups of societal meddlers like the CFR and the Bilderberg Group promoting their own agendas which to me makes him a behind-the-scenes mover-and-shaker up to sneaky stuff, and its hidden facets make me fussy. The second potential I could only explain as his reputed habit during years of serving in Washington DC but riding a train home every night to his family. Actually, with this habit security concerns come to mind due to his past tragedy with wife and daughter (see bio link, above, if you don't know the sad story). Anyway, the former VP should be lauded for such familial devotion especially in a craven city like Washington DC (my former city of residence--and I despise what's been done to the place).

Then there's hidden hand Pluto @20Capricorn now trining Joe's natal Midheaven and supporting his ambitions and power potential while simultaneously sextiling his natal Mercury, an advantageous transit for political activities and for molding or transforming public perceptions. Mr. Biden does seem to be the Establishment's favored 2020 candidate, doesn't he?

Now the final 'fly' I shall mention is a major transiting influence upon Biden's natal chart and it is the other half of the transiting Sun-Neptune opposition which will be in force for all the debaters Thursday night (but without accurate birth times for them all it's impossible to say with confidence whether they'll be as affected as Joe--see links, below). For Biden it's nebulous Neptune @17Pisces in 3rd house conjunct his natal IC @19Pis54 (Basis; Endings; Roots; Domestic Scene, etc). Yes, Neptune is rapping softly on the door and about to float into Joe's natal 4th house. Yes, gas leaks and/or water damage are possibilities yet, while this transit hints at potentials for inspiration, it also suggests such things as confusion, deception, loss, disappointment or dissolution, if not now then later on. Plus, scandals, mysteries, and/or secrets may come to light during Campaign 2020 probably in relation to the Biden family or to Joe himself.

One situation we know of already is that his son Hunter recently married suddenly and in secret (apparently Joe learned about it by phone afterwards) so that should be no problem for now, right? And perhaps Hunter's secret wedding is exactly what transit Neptune at the Foundation Point of his dad's chart means, and only that.

After all, it was way back in June just passed that the Washington Post reported on Hunter Biden's "messy personal life" and wondered in print, Will it cause political headaches for his dad?. Well, I don't know about that but I do know that Neptune in its own sign of Pisces has a lot more nebulous work to do concerning the public and private life of 2020 candidate Joe Biden for the urge-to-merge planet is just getting started--moving in mysterious ways and rapping at the door. Of course, astrological Neptune also represents The Media and The Masses and politically has much to do with propaganda and/or mass social movements, but also with spirituality and the Divine Source if Neptune's compassionate energies are positively channeled.

As for the other debate participants Thursday night, the current transiting Sun-Neptune opposition, though fading, may provide a similar scandalous vibe to their candidacies and/or debate performances, suggesting a chameleon-like quality, or, it may uplift their rhetoric in the idealism-hopes-and-dreams department barring any glaring gaffes or fibs, while suggesting the possibility that a public image may be tarnished or undermined via deception by fellow debaters, or by Republican opponents determined upon Democratic losses no matter how many lies and insulting tweets it takes.

Ah well, such is politics, that "organized system of hatreds." (H.B. Adams).

Broken Hearts Across America and a hood-free KKK

Of Racist Manifestos, US Mars Rx, and a Horoscope for the Ku Klux Klan

Around the time of the *end of the Civil War, the Ku Klux Klan or, 'KKK', was founded as a secret society on December 24, 1865 in Pulaski, Tennessee by a group of die-hard Confederate war veterans. Soon becoming a paramilitary force, Klan members were aggrieved over progressive Reconstruction Era policies which elevated the rights of African Americans in the South. In spite of (or because of) the fact that the South lost the war, and with the Klan's platform based on a philosophy of white racial superiority, night time raids of terror, intimidation, and violence were tactics intended to roll back Reconstruction efforts meant to elevate the rights of African Americans and in hopes of influencing upcoming political elections (an objective already being employed prior to Election 2020--there is method in Trump's bigoted, hate-filled rhetoric).

As an extension of previous 'slave patrols', the Klan used similar methods but perpetrated their vigilante deeds outside the law. And tragically in our day, it's debatable whether certain police brotherhoods in the US are secretly infused with Klan members and/or with officers who are sympathetic to the racist cause. From the trigger-happiness of many officers killing non-whites, it's become difficult to distinguish one from the other. Police departments certainly tend to 'protect their own', don't they? And at its base, we may in part wish to pin much of our current troubles on US Mars Rx by progression since 2006--and note that its degree (17Lib37) conjoins the stationary Jupiter of Donald Trump (17:27) and the North Node in the Klan horoscope, below. Plus, US SP Mars Rx opposes US SP Chiron @17Ari42 in SP 8th house of Death and Corporatism, a duo of martial proportions yet our Mars-Chiron 'sacred warrior' archetype is wounded or deceased, and many have returned (Rx) home from war never to be the same again, and with Mars energies turned inward (Rx) upon the populace.

In case you're curious, here's a brief video concerning Nathan Bedford Forrest (b. July 13, 1821 Chapel Hill, TN; d. 1877 Memphis) reputed to have been the first 'grand wizard' of the KKK, a charge he neglected to own up to. Remarks about the man by legendary Southern historian Shelby Foote are included in the 3min-59sec video.

Now first I shall say that as a child of the South (a native Georgian bwo NC, Virginia, and points North) it was a rare and frightening sight to drive by someone's house at night and witness a cross burning in the yard. The Cross!! A sacred symbol in my Baptist family and the burning of it has always hit me as totally wrong. I did not and do not agree with the message cross-burners intended to spread at that time by such an ugly act but I know that I think even less of them now than ever before--if that's even possible. For their use of primal violence against their fellow man puts them at the very bottom of the evolutionary ladder in my book. And they have people like Trump, Bannon, Miller, Pike, and Hitler to keep them company. But then again, I am not of the ends justify the means persuasion nor am I a member of the success-at-any-cost club.

So as you notice in the KKK horoscope, below, Mercury Rx is @29Sag16 with '30Sag' having the "The Pope Blessing the Faithful" Sabian Symbol. Therefore, a peek at who was the Pope in Rome in 1865 seems related somehow to the founding of the Klan and that was Pius XI, secret friend of Mussolini and the man who instituted the doctrine of "papal infallibility." Anti-Enlightenment principles, anti-modernity, Pius IX was no friend of the Jews in Italy, the Austrians, or of free speech and other Western principles. We might say he was something of a bigot or racist although I've never heard him described in those words. Anyway, Pius XI was Pope (1848--1878) when the Klan was formed (1865) and the organization's Mercury, planet of meetings, discussions, and messages, suggests a link with The Pope Who Would Be King, a book by David I. Kertzer who also authored the award-winning The Pope and Mussolini.

Astrology Allows a Peek Under the Archetypal Hood of the KKK

All that said, let's take a brief look at the Klan's 12:00 pm chart set for December 24, 1865 Pulaski, Tennessee (although setting the chart for one minute before midnight seems appropriate since shadows, secrets, and disguises with eye-holes are the Klan's 'thing' although they're peeking out into the light of day since 2017 thinking they've become mainstream under sympatico Trump, their friend in the White House); note the planet of primal violence, sneaky Pluto Rx in Taurus, a placement of intolerance and materialism:

Now as a speculative 'noon' chart there's not much to say about houses and cusps and of course the fast-floating Moon could be a few degrees before or after her position here (22Pis58) but curiously, the 22Pisces degree spotlights three feminine asteroids and their goddess archetypes: Astraea (justice), Juno (nation-states; politics; the wife), and Diana (the huntress). In the center of the chart I've penned: white women on a pedestal? Now Luna doesn't quite leave Pisces by midnight so it's a Pisces Moon for the Klan which emphasizes the 6/12 victim-savior axis and the Klan's martyr mentality that is contained within the group's Sun-Neptune square. This square also suggests wearing hoods (Neptune) to protect and shield their true identities (Sun).

Also penned on the chart are links to a few of Trump's natal planets (highlighted in pink; ex: Klan Mars @20Sag conjunct his problematic SN-Moon conjunction), plus, the Klan's Prenatal Solar Eclipse ('PE') @26Lib18 (12 North theme: sudden opportunities to accept greater responsibilities--Brady), rebellious Uranus Rx in Cancer, sign of 'tribalism and nationalism', the Klan's erratic, willful Sun-Uranus opposition (lower left), its uncompromising, know-it-all Mercury-Uranus opposition (lower right), and the most difficult of all--the cruel, dictatorial Saturn-Pluto opposition (upper right). As you know, Saturn-Pluto oppositions were in force: in 1931 during the rise of fascism, and on 9/11/01 conjunct what many astrologers use as America's natal ASC-DESC axis of Self and Other (12Sag-Gem). And curiously, the Klan's Nemesis @23Sco48 conjuncts the natal IC of Donald Trump--so are their enemies his enemies?

Now naturally any and all readers are welcomed to disagree with me on any of these chart factors and my conclusions--dissent away for there's no 'infallibility' to be found here!

Even so, my objective is attained for at least a noon version of the KKK Horoscope is now available for viewing on SO'W for anyone who wishes to keep an eye on it for transits and progressions but hadn't yet calculated the horoscope for themselves.

Of course both positive and negative transits ('tr's; 'n' = natal) and their potential influences will arrive over time for any person or entity but here I'll list three that seem to apply to current or upcoming events or which may affect society and/or the Klan on various levels. All perfect three times each but note that their dates could be off a bit since we're using only a noon natal chart:

1. Tr Uranus opposite n Saturn (@9Sco39 and leader of a ruthless Locomotive shape of planets) = tension, instability, disruption--exact on or about June 25, 2020, October 6, 2020, April 12, 2021.

2. Tr Saturn square n Pluto Rx (@12Tau26) = intense conditions, manipulation only hampers, power and control issues, accountability for past abuses--exact on or about April 16, 2021, June 29 2021, January 5, 2022.

3. Tr Uranus conjunct n Pluto Rx = upheaval, sudden changes and challenges, bumps in the road as the past catches up...a volatile, rebellious combination of energies--on or about June 1, 2021, November 13, 2021, March 22, 2022.

Well, there it is and yes, these indications could affect our nation adversely via white supremacists particularly since there are racists hunkered down in the White House as I type. But as the mysterious 'they' are fond of saying, forewarned is forearmed.

*Actually, besides the April 9, 1865 surrender of Robert E. Lee at Appomattox Courthouse, Virginia, there were multiple surrenders by a variety of Confederate Generals including one by Nathan Bedford Forrest, grand wizard of the KKK, as noted above; surrender was a drawn-out process for President Andrew Johnson didn't officially end the Civil War until August 1866.

2017: Transit Neptune Veils US Progressed Sun in Pisces

With December 24, 2008 marking *America's Secondary Progressed (SP) Full Moon @4Vir10 (SP Sun 4Pis10), transit Neptune in Pisces has been nipping at the heels of our nation's SP Sun, an astrological significator for the evolved position of the role of US president. As you know, US natal Sun began at 13Cancer in 1776 conjunct starry Sirius, the pagan goddess star; from 13Cancer US Sun has now progressed/evolved to 12Pisces+.

US SP Sun and transit Neptune @13Pisces: "A Sword in a Museum: EXAMPLE...positive expression: personal power in living common ideals; negative: ridiculous pretense of epic merit." - Jones; this symbol relates to Mr. Trump's idolatry of populist president Andrew Jackson but that must be a post for another day.

In Astrology, the SP Full Moon denotes how far one can 'rise' in the world at that time--a person's or an entity's limits--and America reached such a culmination stage at the end of 2008 with the massive heist of our National Treasury (overseen by Bush and Cheney and passed on to Barack Obama whose entire presidency bares the imprint of the Great Conjunction/s of speculation-inflationary pair Jupiter and Neptune, three times through 2009; the world remains under that planetary influence until the Great Conjunctions of 2020). During the Great Heist, financial resources of We the People were also spirited away and the culprits were then rewarded by US taxpayers for the privilege of being bamboozled by Wall Street bankers and traders. Well, the Virgo-Pisces polarity is the victim-savior axis, after all.

Neptune-to-Sun Casts Shade Upon US Leadership

So what can be expected when Neptune veils the Sun in the shady, delusional, secretive, confused and confusing sign of Pisces? Certainly Neptune in Pisces expands the potential for paranoia within the Collective and we've definitely experienced that--and Mr. Trump is no exception to the phenomenon. Naturally, Infowars' and FOX News' conspiracy theories come to mind, the wilder the better for a paranoid Mr. Trump to tweet out across the globe like a Neptunian-Piscean infection. Desperate to be popular, how disgruntled (enraged!) he must be to find that a finagled White House tenure does not guarantee him high approval ratings--he actually has to perform well as president, the representative of We the People!

So now in 2017, the US SP Sun (POTUS) has reached 12Pisces+ and transit Neptune has continued floating on or nearby that degree since temporarily entering its own sign of Pisces in early April 2011, soon backing into Aquarius, then re-entering Pisces to stay in early February 2012--all on President Obama's watch but not yet veiling US SP Sun until, at the very end of March 2013, transit Neptune hit our SP Full Moon's Sun position of 4Pis10 (and again on February 1, 2014, thanks to Neptune's retrogradation). By that time, Mr. Obama's SP Sun had entered Libra--at the very top of America's natal chart, the very visible Goal Point of Career and Public Status.

Note that Mr Trump's SP Sun has now progressed into Virgo from Leo, beginning @22Gemini conjunct US natal Mars, the warrior planet--you know he wanted military tanks in his inauguration parade, right?! Shades of North Korea! Even US SP Mars Rx @18Libra conjoins Mr. Trump's natal stationary direct Jupiter @17Lib27 which bodes ill for the expansion of war plans especially since his natal Neptune is near enough to call him a Jupiter-Neptune kind of speculator and wastrel--and Jupiter-Neptune is Obamacare's signature planets along with US natal Moon = 'involved in speculation; dreaminess; little sense of reality'--Ebertin.

So as we can see, US POTUS has been plagued by Neptune's eroding, undermining influence for years now and with fact-challenged Donald Trump in office, the public discourse has seen truth vs fiction and 'fake news' issues (aka, propaganda) balloon into the stratosphere, partially thanks to Mr. Trump's natal Mercury-Neptune square of distorted perceptions, falsehoods, fantasy, and paranoia. Leaked secrets (Pisces/Neptune) seep from the White House and undermine his personal integrity (Sun) as president, plus, fanaticism and illusions inspire fanciful notions as his qualification for leadership of the country is called into question. It's a confusing period for the prime focus of this Neptunian-Solar transit as goals that inspire his ego drive (which is the focus) fail to materialize if and when they are based on misguided or unrealistic notions.

Perhaps you agree that the misguided snatching of health care insurance away from millions of Americans via the (failed) GOP 'health care' legislation this last week may be considered part of the Neptunian-Solar picture for Republican congressional leadership and for the fact-challenged, egocentric Donald Trump, our POTUS of the moment.

For it's a hazy and unstable time when the Sun of leadership attempts to hide behind the illusions, falsehoods, and secrets of astrological Neptune!

Now let's close with the Thesis and Antithesis potentials in Politics and Business as given in Michael Munkasey's excellent book Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets; much of this particular example of the Hegelian Dialect may sound familiar:

Thesis: A leader with the ability to thrill the masses through visions of a great future (my italics); projection of the "good times"; an ability to respond to the needs of consumers by offering products based on popular concepts (like Trump Steaks or Trump University? puh! Or is Mr. Trump himself a 'product'? jc).

Antithesis: A leadership which goes to excess and exhausts itself on impractical schemes (like a wall on the entire US-Mexico border? jc); inflation which drains resources; budget deficits; drug problems; promises made but not backed up with substance or intention.

Sept 27, 2013: George Washington Library opens w Neptune to natal Sun

September 27, 2013 Mt. Vernon, New York 11:00 am edt

Today's opening ceremony of the long-awaited George Washington Library at Mt. Vernon has as its keynote speaker noted historian and author David McCullough and a host of VIPs in attendance.

Looking at the horoscope set for that hour and place, we find General Washington's natal Mars @23Sco13 rising, an apt cosmic picture of the man and his country. For more synchronicity we may consider the Sabian Symbol of today's position of rebellious Uranus @10Ari46 Rx...'11Aries' = "The President of the Country" and of course, George Washington remains America's archetypal image of that societal role.

America's natal 12th cusp also rises at 11:00 am with its areas of Politics, Back Room Deals, Large Institutions, Karma, Secret Enemies, and Self-Undoing in the mix.

The establishment of a presidential library to house and preserve Washington's papers is overdue and is set up as a major resource for scholars and students of American history with its contents available online. George Washington dreamed of this, and now, thanks to private donations, his dream becomes a reality today.

Many myths have been fed the American public through the centuries concerning George Washington so will access to his papers (which includes the first Acts of Congress, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights--serve to clear up the illusions we have about him? Or will the solar cult of personality remain intact?

Silver-Screened Neptune Reflects His Image

Perhaps the current position of transiting Neptune Rx will lead to a better understanding of our Founding Father and his goals, but uh-oh! Today's Neptune @3Pis09 sits upon--some would say, masks--Washington natal Sun @3Pis19 in his 11th house of Groups, Associations, Hopes, and Wishes. His 'dream' (Neptune) is being spotlighted (Sun) today but will his holier-than-thou legend survive?

When watery Neptune floats across one's natal Sun, backs up and hits it again, it's a period when the individual's ego and 'Hero's Journey' is only hazily in focus. However, the motivation behind the founding of the library does emphasize Washington's life and goals but, as with us all, may be based on misguided or unrealistic notions--or, Neptune-to-natal-Sun describes the General's motivation many of which were inspired by Freemasonry values which makes his natal Sun in mystical, secretive Pisces, a sign sub-ruled by Neptune, quite difficult if not impossible to pin down.

Perhaps a continuation of the Washington Myth is the point.

For me it will be interesting to see the results of various attempts by scholars and students to ferret out dependable information concerning our mystical Founding Father George Washington, who wasn't actually the country's first president--John Hanson was--a fact that fits perfectly within Washington's fishy if compassionate Piscean image that the American people have been taught to revere so highly.

With Congress now on an ill-deserved 5-week recess with its work half done (until September 9th), we're 'treated' to many pundits addressing topics related to Republican obstructionism and their continued dissatisfaction with President Obama and his policies, sore losers that Republicans are.

Perhaps the party's natal *Sun conjunct US natal Sun in Cancer gives the GOP the idea that they're members of the only political party who should ever run the country!

As you may already know, there's an interesting midpoint picture in the GOP natal horoscope which to my way of thinking, applies closely and basically to their current modus operandi and it involves the 'confused, confusing, or hidden self image' duo of Sun and Neptune:

Sun-Neptune = Uranus: upsets caused by ignoring reality while dreaming; indifference toward others.

Now feel free to disagree with me on this (as always!) but both potentials contained within this midpoint picture when added together under gird much of the anti-governing Republicans' lack of good faith behavior these days and in other days when things don't going their way enough to suit their massive egos.

After all, the party's current progressions show another descriptive midpoint picture: Saturn-Pluto = North Node (future direction): a destiny about holding or abusing power. (Michael Munkasey.) And what the Republican Party with their austerity measures has in mind for the future of the American people is found nestled within this midpoint picture's analysis by Reinhold Ebertin: the misery of the masses.

It's a thickened plot at 10:15 am edt today as President Obama speaks on the US economy with his natal Sun in Leo rising (hello world!) and his natal Neptune in Scorpio (sign of Big Business, Corporations, the Hidden--including the Occult) at IC, the Foundation or Basis of the matter (his remarks.)

No time to fully discuss the horoscope but that's okay since it's his natal Sun/Neptune square that is emphasized in the chart with both his Sun and Neptune being angular at 10:15 am edt June 8, 2012 Washington DC.

Shiny Sun square nebulous, spiritual, often deceptive and fraudulent Neptune indicates someone who can easily deceive himself. Perhaps he considers himself as a 'chosen vessel' of God (or whatever entity may be worshipped.) Now being a Chosen One may also relate in Mr. Obama's case to being selected by powers-behind-the-throne as President of the United States (Bilderberg Group June 2008 Chantilly, VA, and perhaps this year's selection process, too, also in early June, also in Chantilly) or to some Higher Quest which President Obama's 1st house Chiron in mystical Pisces requires of him.

A Sun/Neptune square may cause a distortion of one's perception of reality which can be useful to those who direct him from behind the scenes as their 'cat's paw' or tool. Cults and mysticism are dangers for this sort of personality (for Neptune's contact may weaken the personality yet gives much creativity) though a strong Saturn can, if the native wills it, offset all or most of the negative qualities of this square (obstacle) to one's essence (Sun.)

Fortunately for President Obama--and hopefully for the American people--his natal Saturn is in its own sign of Capricorn though Rx (weak or absent father) so developing an inner sense of authority (Saturn) has been a primary key to his success in addition to his natal Jupiter Rx @ 00AQ (our Inaugural Sun position on January 20 at noon) creating an out-of-sign (dissociate) conjunction indicating great worldly success if the energies are well applied and Saturn's requirement for integrity is honored.

Will his remarks today be honest? That is the question, isn't it?

So what is he saying about the US economy this morning? I don't know yet because I'm busy typing at you! Guess I'll go find out and see if the President's Sun/Neptune square shows creatively, deceptively, or some combination of both...

Call To Action! October 15, 2011: Occupy Wall Street and a Global Day of Action for the 99%! Congregate in Times Square NYC @ 5:00 pm edt.

Occupy protests of solidarity are now sweeping across the face of Planet Earth--Hurrah!!!

New York City 10.15.11 @ 5:00 pm edt sees the ongoing Jupiter/Neptune midpoint (the speculators, wastrels, and grand schemers pair) still being triggered by political activist Uranus in action-oriented, Mars-ruled Aries which gives an apt picture of events for those with Astrology principles in mind.

This is the 'imagination v reality/sudden recognition of a difficult situation' picture as Mayor Bloomberg grapples, and the mainstream media continues their mock-puzzled commentary on what is truly a grass roots movement by 99% of The People who are fed up with global elite criminality and corruption.

Still Rx in Taurus, Jupiter (Mr. Moneybags) and Venus in Scorpio have moved beyond their opposition of yesterday with its extravagant/wasteful/social climber vibes and 'moderation is needed' caution.

Perhaps of more concern is today's applying opposition between Jupiter and changeable Mercury, planet of youth, communication, oration, trade, commerce--and of course, youth make up most of the numbers of Occupy demonstrators though not exclusively. Mercury opposing Jupiter can make mountains out of molehills (but perhaps that's for corporate-shilling reports to do), and signifies those focused with fanatical zeal upon their goals (which the media says they don't have!)

Mercury oppo Jupiter also indicates a need for balance and moderation in one's plans and speech--and there's Jupiter in Taurus parallel fixed star Ras Alhague: 'a desire to create balance or healing'. The applying trine between Jupiter and wealthy dragon Pluto 5Cap06 continues as well with the Jupiter/Pluto pair potentially signifying: plutocrats, those who exploit others, squanderers, speculators, law and economics professors--and leaders of uprisings!

October 15, 2011 begins with Moon in late Taurus, Sun in Libra, and ends with Moon in Gemini (6:51) with Luna crossing into Gemini at 10:14 am edt conjunct fixed star Alcyone (beware: Alcyone = 'something to cry about'...tear gas? More pepper spray?)

Occupy Wall Street's Call to Action starts during an Hour of the Sun with the sensitive Sun/Neptune midpoint at Midheaven (The Goal; Aspirations; Public Status) so we have a picture of impressionability, mental and emotional stress (graduating with excessive student loans and no job prospects can do that to ya as well as losing your home and/or job with a family to feed), and a negative outlook. Of course, it's possible the negativity is on the side of our now-naked emperor banking class all duded up in their imaginary threads of integrity and superiority.

Either way, the presence of Sun/Neptune shows tendencies toward exploitation, deception, chaotic conditions, and/or scandals though inspiration may be present, too.

At 5:00 pm edt, 21Pis24 rises, making the speculator pair, Jupiter and Neptune, the chart-ruler and co-ruler. Jupiter's applying aspects are its trine with Pluto (1A56) and an opposition to Mercury (3A13) as mentioned above; Neptune makes only one applying aspect, a trine with the Sun in Libra, an extremely creative indicator showing that events should work out quite well today.

UPDATE 7:30 pm: turns out I was overly optimistic with that last statement: the NYPD is surrounding the protesters this evening with huge nets to round them up like sardines so the trine of the Moon--the people--with Neptune emphasizes Neptunian nets as NYC attempts to dissolve (Neptune) the protests. :(

Now back to our Jupiter/Neptune...

(You'll remember that 2009, President Obama's first year in office, saw a three-fer of Jupiter and Neptune conjunctions which all fell upon US natal Moon ('27AQ' = We-The-People) and I blogged its 'reality v imagination/becoming involved in speculation/instability and wastefulness' connections until my typing finger fell off because that and other cosmic factors detailed an undermining of whatever Mr. Obama purported to do to improve the economy and the lot of the American people.

Of course, I use Jupiter in mundane charts as the representative for the Republican Party and everyone has seen how GOP obstructionism has gummed up the works--not that I fully embrace the president's "the GOP won't let me" excuse for the sorry lack of helpful actions coming out of Washington DC. As I've blogged for years here and elsewhere, the ruling class has set itself against The People, and yes, this is Pluto/Chiron-inspired class warfare of oppression, exploitation, and disenfranchisement perpetrated by an ivory-towered Oligarchy.)


Mundane Moon = We-The-People

Another factor of note is that President Obama's natal Moon 3Gem21 returns to natal degree at less than one minute before 5:00 pm edt today when the rally begins! ('4Gem' = "Holly and Mistletoe Bring Christmas Spirit to a Home".)

In keeping with the critical events of this day--and with Mr. Obama's Lunar Return for I suspect he's feeling pressured from all sides, both youthful Mercury and powerful Pluto--the Moon in Gemini (sign of youth as noted) is apex in a YOD pattern involving today's Mercury/Pluto sextile thus creating a midpoint picture of emotional communication power, adaptability in thinking and speaking, and/or an obsessive need for more power and control (surveillance? agent provocateurs in the crowd?)

As you know, a YOD (Finger of God pattern) indicates crisis, a crossroads or turning point (as Occupy Wall Street becomes global?), and/or a special task. Adjustments must be made with two quincunxes (150 degr; aka, inconjuncts) involved.

And Mercury/Pluto, the propaganda/surveillance pair which oppose one another in America's natal horoscope, denotes potentials in Politics and Business for:

high security and intell activities (I'll wager all demonstrators are being thoroughly 'checked out' by The Establishment); political talk that offers abrupt changes (for the better would be good); communications satellites (spies in the sky) and contacts with intell agencies; toxic gases (and pepper sprays); business or transportation secrets; breakdowns in road networks (traffic jams?); self-destructive impulses in business (crony capitalism, for one.) An apex Moon in a YOD pattern indicates emotional trauma and vulnerability spilling over from the past yet if this energy is well-managed (as I expect of Occupiers it will be) it can provide a great ability for making destined changes, a reorganization of the emotional nature, and a strengthened inner foundation which attends to the interests of The Weaker as it clarifies and directly expresses personal needs. The YOD's apex Moon reminds me of the 'human microphone' and the Assemblies the Occupiers use to communicate and to make group decisions.

Jupiter Rx in Taurus (Shadow Side: Intolerance and Greed)

Another factor today involving growth-oriented Jupiter is an obsessive-compulsive quindecile (165 degrees) between The Jolly One (well, he's usually jolly but these days he's a bit under siege, as he deserves) which shows those who are driven toward fame, recognition, and/or success; also evident is opinionation, judgmentalism, and egocentricity. This expansive Sun/Jup aspect has an "I am the greatest" connotation with a king/queen complex in tow. (The Quindecile, Ricki Reeves.)

'The greatest'? 'King/Queen'?

One thinks easily of politicians and other egotists accustomed to being in charge. What they're decidely not accustomed to is having We-The-People continuously raining on their one-world-government, New World Order, totalitarian parade.

So I say, Rain On, Occupy Wall Streeters...Rain On!

Sen. Whitehouse and the Spanish Inquisition

In the news: Senator Sheldon Whitehouse's statement on Mukasey's nomination.

Born Oct 20, 1955 into a diplomatic family in NYC, Junior Senator from Rhode Island, Sheldon Whitehouse (D) may have the perfect Washingtonian name...you can hear it, I know: President Whitehouse in the Whitehouse. Sounds fine to me!

Now Senator Whitehouse's natal Sun Libra/Moon Sagittarius blend has two Images for Integration:

A flair for public speaking is demonstrated as well as an ability to see the larger picture (Sag.) Negatively there can be a tendency to overstretch, over-estimate one's capacities, and/or to hide personal problems with workaholism (who doesn't?).

And yet a lack of introspection may cause blindness to one's true motives, an inability to "see" oneself realistically, and a certain detachment and aloofness may be noticed. Perhaps this results from hearing a celestial choir.

Yes, having a sensitive, receptive Sun-Neptune conjunction, it's not always easy to make one's mark although humanitarian work would be perfect for nebulous, idealistic Neptune's melding with one's essence and leadership qualities (Sun.) He seems to prefer working behind the scenes.

This creative combo usually results in a lack of confidence when expressing oneself, and there's a veiled outlook on life which may lead to disappointments and unpleasantness--plus, personal responsibilities may be difficult to manage. (Maturity can help mitigate such nebulous issues.)

Yet a career based on the public's benefit would be fine as long as a trusted advisor is around to help face the tougher issues, for realities can be abrasive to a Sun-Neptune individual.

Whitehouse's Pre-Natal Eclipse Series is problematic--the 11 South Series which last manifested July 11, 1991. This is the Series in which a few things have occurred through history such as:

Jeb Bush Feb 11, 1953

By now you've heard Jeb Bush was dissed by the University of Florida's Faculty Senate vote nixing an honorary degree for him. The 38-28 vote could not have gone down well with the Bush dynasty spawn but never fret because the Alumni Association has come through to save his tender feelings by passing a resolution today making him an honory alumni.

Who knew you could be an alumni without accomplishing the goal of attaining a degree even an honorary one?

Here you see Bush's natal chart with transits for 3.23.07 scribbled around the outside although I just realized the diss-vote was taken on Thursday, 3/22...but the main difference is the Moon in Taurus on Thursday--entering Bush's natal 9th house of Higher Education...appropriate, I'm sure you'll agree.

Natally, Jeb Bush was born into the Balsamic phase of the Moon--in its highest manifestation this makes him a prophet turned completely toward the future. He probably feels himself possessed by a social 'destiny' or that he's led by a superior power (Poppy?)

Bush may sense a character of finality in all his important relationships and sees them as ends of a process and as the means to help him reach his goals.

Balsamic types often take over projects when others cannot carry on--or when they arrive on the scene, someone is always leaving in some way.

This feeling of having a transcendent goal may lead to fanaticism and is shared natally by Robespierre, President Wm McKinley, and Thomas Paine (The Lunation Cycle, Dane Rudhyar.)

Recently tr Saturn has been messing with Bush's n Pluto which signifies a time of power/control issues where one may not get to be the one in charge.

Obviously this relates to the end of his tenure as FL governor esp since tr Saturn had been conjunct n South Node, a point of separation. And with his South Node (SN) in 11th house of Groups/Associations/Friends/Hopes-Wishes, there were endings of group associations as well, and possibly separations from friends.

The dissing of his educational record by the Faculty Senate vote is timely since he's just had a Mercury (thought processes; communications) Return and Mercury is weak in Pisces, sign of confusion, illusion and such. Very creative though, and his Sun trine Neptune--the closest applying aspect to n Sun and thus an integral part of his personality--indicates much creativity.

But the individual path of self-expression should be followed. However, this is all but impossible with n Sun opposite Pluto (power; manipulation) because:

Jeb was born into a family with a highly manipulative atmosphere at a time when his father was into 'Plutonic games' (I think he still is.) As an adult, Bush may insist on controlling everyone in his environment--and he learned this behaviour at Poppy's knee.

When such a child's Sun is in Fire or Air (Aquarius), he is overwhelmed by his father's influence for his mind becomes submerged in his father's "power trip." He may have no idea how to break free.

And Jeb's natal Ascendant has the Neptune/Pluto midpoint upon it--rising--indicating someone who is into the occult and/or mysticism--which is supported by the above-mentioned Sun/Neptune trine. A study of Astrology may have aided him in breaking free of his father's control--to the extent he may have wanted this.

Nep/Plu = ASC: surrounding oneself with a mytical air; being placed in a peculiar environment.

The Nep/Pluto pair are personalized in his natal chart due to their connection to n Sun (although the Pluto opposition is separating so it may operate more often on an unconscious level...added to Pluto's connection with theUnconscious/depth psychology.)

Is Jeb an 'unconscious' despot? His wife and children must know the answer to that one!

Yet unlike most politicians, he has no 12th house planets natally so his Sun-Pluto opposition will have to do for his political aspirations and tendencies...and Pluto is near the 12th cusp in the Placidus House System used here (and may be in 12th house in other systems.)

This is the "separations; loss; partings; physical injury due to overstrain" Series we've been under--until the Mar 19/20 Eclipse on Monday which also occurred 3 days after Jeb Bush's birth. This 9 New North Series (28Pis07) is a "violence; accidents" Series.

(Looking back at 1953, that was the year the CIA installed the tyrant, the Shah, in Iran...and our chickenhawk neocons are now wishing they could perform a similar feat there again, aren't they?)

But back to the Jeb:

You see that tr Pluto, master of transformation, has recently crossed into his n 4th house, the Foundation of the chart. This indicates that it's time for Bush to cope with negative conditioning from childhood that my be affecting him adversely now...not easy when you have Sun opposite Pluto, but perhaps he's happy as a clam with the family crime syndicate he was born into...but be that as it may...

family ties may be broken or become more more close and powerful under this transit and his status within the family will be a focus of attention (for a 2008 prez bid?)

An older family member or two will pass away with tr Pluto in 4th house which is a Duh considering his parents' ages.

Home renovations and plumbing repairs are common under Pluto's visit to 4th house of Domestic Scene...plus, he may discover a family secret that will transform his life (hope he keeps it to himself--his family dynasty is scary enough already.)

Well, that's a small sashay down Jeb Bush Lane. Now here's a question for you:

When is a university alumni not an alumni? When you're part of the well-connected Bush dynasty, of course. You may take your seat at the head of the class!
