2017: Transit Neptune Veils US Progressed Sun in Pisces

With December 24, 2008 marking *America's Secondary Progressed (SP) Full Moon @4Vir10 (SP Sun 4Pis10), transit Neptune in Pisces has been nipping at the heels of our nation's SP Sun, an astrological significator for the evolved position of the role of US president. As you know, US natal Sun began at 13Cancer in 1776 conjunct starry Sirius, the pagan goddess star; from 13Cancer US Sun has now progressed/evolved to 12Pisces+.

US SP Sun and transit Neptune @13Pisces: "A Sword in a Museum: EXAMPLE...positive expression: personal power in living common ideals; negative: ridiculous pretense of epic merit." - Jones; this symbol relates to Mr. Trump's idolatry of populist president Andrew Jackson but that must be a post for another day.

In Astrology, the SP Full Moon denotes how far one can 'rise' in the world at that time--a person's or an entity's limits--and America reached such a culmination stage at the end of 2008 with the massive heist of our National Treasury (overseen by Bush and Cheney and passed on to Barack Obama whose entire presidency bares the imprint of the Great Conjunction/s of speculation-inflationary pair Jupiter and Neptune, three times through 2009; the world remains under that planetary influence until the Great Conjunctions of 2020). During the Great Heist, financial resources of We the People were also spirited away and the culprits were then rewarded by US taxpayers for the privilege of being bamboozled by Wall Street bankers and traders. Well, the Virgo-Pisces polarity is the victim-savior axis, after all.

Neptune-to-Sun Casts Shade Upon US Leadership

So what can be expected when Neptune veils the Sun in the shady, delusional, secretive, confused and confusing sign of Pisces? Certainly Neptune in Pisces expands the potential for paranoia within the Collective and we've definitely experienced that--and Mr. Trump is no exception to the phenomenon. Naturally, Infowars' and FOX News' conspiracy theories come to mind, the wilder the better for a paranoid Mr. Trump to tweet out across the globe like a Neptunian-Piscean infection. Desperate to be popular, how disgruntled (enraged!) he must be to find that a finagled White House tenure does not guarantee him high approval ratings--he actually has to perform well as president, the representative of We the People!

So now in 2017, the US SP Sun (POTUS) has reached 12Pisces+ and transit Neptune has continued floating on or nearby that degree since temporarily entering its own sign of Pisces in early April 2011, soon backing into Aquarius, then re-entering Pisces to stay in early February 2012--all on President Obama's watch but not yet veiling US SP Sun until, at the very end of March 2013, transit Neptune hit our SP Full Moon's Sun position of 4Pis10 (and again on February 1, 2014, thanks to Neptune's retrogradation). By that time, Mr. Obama's SP Sun had entered Libra--at the very top of America's natal chart, the very visible Goal Point of Career and Public Status.

Note that Mr Trump's SP Sun has now progressed into Virgo from Leo, beginning @22Gemini conjunct US natal Mars, the warrior planet--you know he wanted military tanks in his inauguration parade, right?! Shades of North Korea! Even US SP Mars Rx @18Libra conjoins Mr. Trump's natal stationary direct Jupiter @17Lib27 which bodes ill for the expansion of war plans especially since his natal Neptune is near enough to call him a Jupiter-Neptune kind of speculator and wastrel--and Jupiter-Neptune is Obamacare's signature planets along with US natal Moon = 'involved in speculation; dreaminess; little sense of reality'--Ebertin.

So as we can see, US POTUS has been plagued by Neptune's eroding, undermining influence for years now and with fact-challenged Donald Trump in office, the public discourse has seen truth vs fiction and 'fake news' issues (aka, propaganda) balloon into the stratosphere, partially thanks to Mr. Trump's natal Mercury-Neptune square of distorted perceptions, falsehoods, fantasy, and paranoia. Leaked secrets (Pisces/Neptune) seep from the White House and undermine his personal integrity (Sun) as president, plus, fanaticism and illusions inspire fanciful notions as his qualification for leadership of the country is called into question. It's a confusing period for the prime focus of this Neptunian-Solar transit as goals that inspire his ego drive (which is the focus) fail to materialize if and when they are based on misguided or unrealistic notions.

Perhaps you agree that the misguided snatching of health care insurance away from millions of Americans via the (failed) GOP 'health care' legislation this last week may be considered part of the Neptunian-Solar picture for Republican congressional leadership and for the fact-challenged, egocentric Donald Trump, our POTUS of the moment.

For it's a hazy and unstable time when the Sun of leadership attempts to hide behind the illusions, falsehoods, and secrets of astrological Neptune!

Now let's close with the Thesis and Antithesis potentials in Politics and Business as given in Michael Munkasey's excellent book Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets; much of this particular example of the Hegelian Dialect may sound familiar:

Thesis: A leader with the ability to thrill the masses through visions of a great future (my italics); projection of the "good times"; an ability to respond to the needs of consumers by offering products based on popular concepts (like Trump Steaks or Trump University? puh! Or is Mr. Trump himself a 'product'? jc).

Antithesis: A leadership which goes to excess and exhausts itself on impractical schemes (like a wall on the entire US-Mexico border? jc); inflation which drains resources; budget deficits; drug problems; promises made but not backed up with substance or intention.

Trump & Paul Ryan Team Up To Make Healthcare Bill Even Worse

Update March 23, 2017: as you've heard before now, Mr. Trump's health care bill vote has been postponed by congressional Republicans due to lack of support (not enough votes from their own party since allegedly no Democrat will vote for its draconianess and they need 215 votes to pass it). You may find that these actions and non-actions on Capitol Hill this week are at least partially described by the Mars-Neptune addition below The Young Turks' video report.

Another factor specific to Mr. Trump is Saturn's ongoing transit to his natal Moon (publicity) and South Node (a karmic Saturnian point of separation and/or of falling back on what worked in the past but no longer does = neurosis), a transit which restricts, denies, or delays his need fulfillment (Moon), lowers his popularity or approval ratings (Moon = the public), and may cause temper tantrums. Simultaneously (and because he was born under a Full Moon), Saturn opposes Trump's natal Sun and North Node which accounts for recent photos of a glum Mr. Trump with what is likely to be a bruised ego. Health and vitality may also be affected with transit Saturn opposing natal Sun and conjunct natal Moon--perhaps just a cold in his dose or a slight headache?

Mars in Pisces Not at His Best Then Along Comes Neptune

As you know, now sitting is the 115th US Congress which convened January 3, 2017 with testosterone-driven Mars @11Pisces where confused, confusing Neptune has floated of late suggesting much of the troubles Republicans in Congress are now having with their shaky (some would say, disappointing) attempts to repeal and replace one of their favorite political boogeymen, 'Obamacare' (the ACA). For when transit Neptune spreads all over action-oriented Mars we have a period when deception and delusion undermine physical efforts to the point where some refuse to make any effort (or cast a Yes vote) at all!

Other potentials of Neptune to Mars include impractical, unrealistic schemes that over-promise great and/or quick results (as Trump and the GOP did), and though intuition may run high, other planetary factors must provide stability and cooperation in the activities of the 115th Congress. The GOP health care 'plan' is sub-par legislation on many levels and if we use the Mars-Neptune influence as a clue we find that a potential for "rioting over nationalized health care" could be in our future.

Archetypal Saturn Does Like to Stay Busy

Well, Saturn, planet of workers, is certainly getting a work-out while in Sagittarius, sign of immigrants, foreigners, and religious figures and won't enter its own sign of governmental Capricorn until a few days before Christmas 2017--after spending about 9 days of December on the last degree of Sagittarius, a critical-crisis 29th degree, and passing through an important gateway, one of the Cardinal World Points of manifestation and prominence, 00Cap00:00.

Now Saturn in Jupiter-ruled Sag has been busy spotlighting those in the legal professions (and the self-righteous and the hypocritical!), plus, the immigrants and refugees of the world, while Saturn in Cap tends toward a more economic and materialist disposition (austerity and conservatism) which is not necessarily a good thing since it's a double signature of restriction, limitation, authoritarianism, paternalism, and loss. The "Fair Tax Act" has recently been proposed by the House of Representatives. If it's approved, the income tax would be abolished and replaced with a 20% sales tax on all taxable items. Sounds good, but when you do your research, it's really UNfair.

With this plan, everybody would be paying the same amount of sales tax. This means that the person on disability would pay the same amount of tax as Bill Gates, the person on Social Security would be paying the same amount of tax as the Koch Brothers, etc. Basically, the "Fair Tax Act" is a punishment for not being rich, as this would give the wealthy way more to spend, while actually raising taxes on the working class and making the poor actually have to pay tax they can't afford. For something worth two dollars, an extra 20 cents would be added, along with the already prevalent local and state sales tax. For something worth $40, two whole dollars would be added to the overall cost. And considering that states will still have their income tax, this would be something that half the population cannot afford.

As the research in this blog shows, quite a few Republicans are secular or "Ayn Rand" Republicans, meaning that they vote Republican for their tax cuts, while being socially liberal. This tax plan would alienate them, as an even bigger portion of their money would be taken by the government than there was under the last Democratic president Barack Obama, who kept the Bush tax cuts intact for the middle class and lower classes, while only raising taxes on the upper middle class and wealthy. These people would likely become independents as a result if this gets passed.

The tax system, while in need of reforming, would be better off not existing at all. After all, the federal government we send our taxes to every year does not represent us, but rather themselves, and the corporations that enrich them and fund their campaigns. We're basically paying our government to screw us. But how will the government be able to operate without taxes? Well, it operated without an income tax for years, until the income tax was established during Woodrow Wilson's presidency. To go even further, how will we survive if we're not economic "wage slaves"? Imagine a world where everyone had a set minimum amount they make every month, and can pursue the career they want. Or a world where everyone had guaranteed employment, in a field that meshes with their innate astrological nature. Or to be even more extreme, a world where there was no money at all, and thus no way for elites to use the lower classes for their best interests. We need to be united, not divided, and classes are just another method of division, that aren't innate, like our skin color, sexual orientation, gender, astrological signs, generational characteristics, and even political viewpoints are. Economic classes are man made, and not in our best interests, as the lower classes will inevitably be serving the upper classes.

Pluto, the transformer, will be in Capricorn, the sign that represents federal systems, until 2024, when it goes into Aquarius, the sign of freedom. The income tax is one of those systems, along with the financial system, the education system, the political system, the media, religion, the entertainment industry, etc. The first six are not in our best interests, as they're all clearly in place to keep humanity enslaved to the elites, and the entertainment industry, while it does keep us entertained, has a long history of predictive programming (9/11 hints were given as far back as 1979, in the cover of progressive rock band Supertramp's Breakfast In America album! And the film "The Matrix" was a subtle way of telling us the reality of our system).

All of those systems will have to be transformed in humanity's best interests, as the systems that were in place during the last Pluto cycle, which started in 1777, are losing relevancy during the final days of Pluto in Capricorn.

And while fairness is good, it must be in the best interests of everyone, or else it isn't really fair at all. Giving the poorest and wealthiest Americans the same tax rate isn't fair, as it's not in everyone's best interest, but only the best interests of the corporations that own our elected officials, which is why political and ethical indicators in astrology need to be known by everyone, in order to elect people who will serve in humanity's best interests.

America, Pluto, Ceres, Chiron, and Two Eclipses

Pluto, Ceres, Chiron, America, and the 2017 Solar Eclipses in Pisces and Leo

Since the early days of Stars Over Washington (2005) my attention has sometimes been drawn to a certain trio: power planet of domination, Pluto (27Cap Rx), security-minded nurturer Ceres, and wounder/wounded healer, mentor, and blind spot, Chiron (20Aries) in America's July 4, 1776 natal horoscope. As you know, the midpoint of the Pluto-Chiron duo in society can be associated with plutocrats, Plutocracy, and the consequences they engender such as exploitation, oppression, various -isms, and primal violence, among others.

Need any plutocrats? America's got plenty to share!

Now it seems to me that Election 2016 preceded by the 2016 Campaign of Insults brought us to the ill-attended Inauguration 2017 oath-taking and presidential theater, dahlink which heralded the February 26, 2017 Solar Eclipse @8Pis12, the degree of America's Pluto-Chiron midpoint and her natal Ceres so that they are activated or triggered to express. The natal midpoint and asteroid were simultaneously eclipsed.

Now I'm no numerologist so these triple digits hold no particular place in my thinking about such matters other than astrologically--8th house, 8th sign, 6th house (8 + 8 + 8 = 24 = 6), 6th sign so naturally health concerns are involved through Virgo and Scorpio. Note that the mid-degree of Scorpio is the Point of Regeneration (15Sco), aka, the Eagle Point. Therefore, Mercury, Mars, and Pluto influence the proceedings via their sign rulerships, and of course, Pluto, Mars, and sign Scorpio relate to such medical issues as surgeries, surgical tools, scientific research, medical personnel, and more. Mental planet Mercury represents the knowledge to treat, operate, and cure, and adds health insurance into the mix.

These health topics and issues shown by Pluto, Chiron, and Ceres make timely descriptors of the current 'debate' in the news concerning the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act (aka, ACA or 'Obamacare' turned 'Trumpcare') with something wonderful!. Puh! Recklessly, the GOP's knife points toward Medicare as well which I consider to come under the oppressive primal violence tendencies of Pluto-Chiron while our caring Ceres in compassionate Pisces takes a break with the Republicans at the helm.

Another potential is that food and food contamination, false product information, 'Frankenstein' GM foods, adulteration, etc, come under the banner of Pluto-Ceres, and Pluto-Chiron, too. The EPA's poison control and other departments are in process of being severely restricted or closed down by the GOP to one degree or another. Ask me in about a year when Congress and the Trump administration will have done as much damage as their cold, perfidious hearts can manage. The congressional enablers in Congress follow a be-shadowed 'austerity agenda' for the 99% and produce legal-sounding documents and the papers for Trump to blindly sign with a flourish.

Trump Land is a blighted land and the EPA and the protection of clean water are now under threat (not that there aren't waste, fraud, and abuse issues in this and other government agencies).

Actually, The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 at a critical-crisis 29th degree is a cosmic repeat performance of the Prenatal Eclipse of the Clean Air Act of 1963 so environmental topics and problems will continue to pop up everywhere and will not be denied under the Act's own revealing solar eclipse in the egocentric sign of leadership, royal Leo, part of the 1 North Saros Series which last manifested on August 11, 1999. The August 2017 Solar Eclipse across America will be personalized for Donald Trump since his natal Ascendant and Regulus rising (and by association if not degree, his aggressive, litigious Mars Rising) are 'hit' or somehow stimulated or activated by the eclipse.

And so this August, the great eclipse's cosmic blink winks at Don Don. He is, in the role of US president, quite unbelievable, isn't he? But not in a good way. "People come to him," said Kellyanne Conway recently and it sounded more than a little mafia 'donnish' as if "for favors" should have been the end of her sentence. Maybe Conway's remark sounded that way because this is a pay-to-play White House under Trump's extensive ballast and gold-hoarding hands.

However, this is also a non-mandated administration of a nude emperor, folks! Highly unpopular legislation awaits enforcement, let the blighting increase! But will the governed remind the compromised 'governors' of their true responsibilities to The People, whether said 'leaders' are acting from within a state of blackmail, bribery, and intimidation...or not?

NATO and the Stationary Jupiter of Mr Trump

Trump Wants NATO Countries to Pay Up

For a man who is known for not paying up, don't you marvel when you hear Mr. Trump admonish NATO countries to pay up?

Well, here's another question: is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, aka, NATO, too gray around the muzzle? Or is its multiple dissing by Mr. Trump meant to undermine the organization's popularity (what little is left - peacekeepers? really?) and is also intended to allow Washington to re-grasp the millions and trillions of dollars and promises the US government provides for NATO missions and upkeep .

And it really seems to be the case that America has shouldered the herculean share of the costs these decades so that now it's time that countries with the where-with-all should crack open their piggy banks and pay at least something for their own defense. It may even seem that a lesson-by-example is being shown here--that various populations in the US and abroad are not allowed to have their needs met by their own tax monies directed where needed because these monies are stolen and pilfered by the exploiter class (Pluto-Chiron = plutocracy) in thousands of ways...no, funds must go to war and weaponry and to propping up our faltering empire.

Anyway, if you wish to view the *August 24, 1949 11:42 am edt Washington DC natal horoscope of NATO (with Warsaw Summit July 2016 planets added) you may and you'll see that the current position of plodding Pluto is within orb of conjoining NATO's natal Jupiter (issues of money and raw materials allocation), plus, other contacts, of course.

Curiously enough, Mr. Trump's natal Pluto @10Leo tops NATO's chart at Midheaven (MC = The WHY? Point: Pluto = control, power, manipulation, propaganda, transformation) but the separative South Node of NATO conjoins Trump's natal Jupiter (@17Libra) which is strengthened by its Station Direct condition at birth and is posited in his 2nd house of Money, Earning Ability, and Values--he might ask: is the financial support of NATO a good value for the money? Plus, Trump's Libran Jupiter tends to bellyache that something isn't fair! Yet between the US and NATO an imbalance exists and the ledger is heavily weighted on the US side while various European and Scandinavian countries can provide benefits for their populations in part because the ('world cop') US empire does the policing and protecting.

So horoscope-wise, just that little bit right there between the charts: Mr. Trump's natal Jupiter = NATO's natal SN--describes a financial condition involving loss and over-dependency, one side doing all the giving--plus, there's Mr. Trump's value-judging Jupiter in Libra, sign of the Scales of Justice, speaking ostensibly on behalf of the American people, or at least that's his pretext for serving up this particular rhetoric. And now Mr. Trump and his minions are busy cutting government agencies' budgets and restricting funding for various programs all over the place as you've heard in the news.

Yet on a nostalgic level, whenever dear old plutocrats with their tiresome exploitation of the masses are mentioned I can't help but think of corporatists taking all their marbles from the game and refusing to fund, pay up, or participate in society any longer, a general plot invention of Russian author Ayn Rand. Does it seem to you that the current crop of selfish corporatists and their enabling associates both Republican and otherwise are headed down the I-got-mine you-got-nothing road? Just wondering.

And do you think me-firster Ayn Rand would be proud of Speaker Paul Ryan and his nearly-passed 'health care' bill that intends to dismantle support for all but the well-supplied wealthy and hand huge tax breaks to the corporate class? Maybe she'll appear to Paul in a dream and remind him of his own dependence on Social Security years ago when he was in need, and of how Rand herself eventually grew old (surprise!) and applied for social program benefits just as anyone else would have done.

So I guess that's when a senior Ayn Rand discovered what it's like not being the fittest survivor any longer and perhaps she learned how it feels to have no option but to rely on the kindness of others.

Our political system is in a state of crisis, as our elected officials are in it for themselves and the corporations that bribe them, rather than the people who elect them. These are some solutions to help solve the problem and get our elected officials to work in our best interests.

Term Limits - The president has them, but why not congress? Without term limits, if you're in a strong Democratic or Republican area, you can actually have a career as a Senator or Representative! Knowing that they can be reelected an unlimited number of times, they have little incentive to do a good job, as they can easily become wealthy by way of years of corporate bribes.

Lie Detector Tests - The president, vice president, cabinet members, and congress members should undergo random lie detector tests. This is to make sure our elected officials will always tell the truth and act ethically.

Recall Elections - We have them with our local and state governments, but why not our federal government? Yes, the president can be impeached, but the congress decides if that happens, and it's obvious that our elected officials do not have our best interests at hand. If the president is harming our country, the people should have a say if he should be taken out of office or not.

People should have a say in proposed laws - The people had no say in regards to the Patriot Act. Or NAFTA. Or the bailouts. Or Obamacare (or its repeal if it happens). Or any tax increase. Basically, the federal government can create laws without our approval. Yes, congress has approval of the laws, but like I said, they don't govern in our best interests.

More Political Parties - Imagine if the Libertarian candidate, the Green party candidate, the Reform party candidate, the Peace and Freedom party candidate, and the American Independent party candidate got the same amount of attention as the Democratic and Republican party candidates? There would be many different options, which would create actual choice rather than choosing the lesser of two evils.

No Money In Politics - No money in politics means no bribery is allowed, and would mean that you don't have to be wealthy in order to run for office. In other words, a level playing field.

Astrology

The asteroid Pallas is the main indicator of a person's ethical nature. Mainstream knowledge of this asteroid and analyzing each presidential candidate's Pallas aspects before the election would be a giant step in preventing corruption and tyranny from entering the White House. Also, knowledge of the cultural and economic indicators, represented by the Moon and Venus respectively, of presidential candidates would allow voters to determine if they really have the ideology they project, or are using it just to get ahead politically.

For example, Donald Trump's chart has strong left wing economic (which can indicate fascism) and cultural indicators, while having a mixed Pallas, which indicates something other than small government. George W Bush and Ronald Reagan had strong right wing indicators socially, but their left wing economic indicators pointed to their major deficit spending during their administrations. Barack Obama had strong left wing economic and social indicators, but a strongly authoritarian Pallas. So did Hillary Clinton. This knowledge being mainstream would basically make politicians need to walk the walk in order to get elected.

You can't legislate morality, but with all of these things in place, we can do our jobs to make sure that our country is run by people who care about the best interests of the people and the country as a whole, rather than themselves and the corporations that bribe them.

A Few Astro-Notes on Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-MA)

Without a known birth time I hesitate to post Rep. Kennedy's natal chart today but looking at his date of birth (October 4, 1980 near Boston, MA) it turns out that the Moon was in Leo during the entire 24-hour period (16--29 Leo). With his Sun in Libra, we might find a bit of 'Joe info' by considering his Air-Fire 'live wire' Sun Libra-Moon Leo personality blend.

This blend of conscious (Sun) and unconscious (Moon) energies suggests high-mindedness, idealism, and visionary ability. Empty adulation is shunned but flattery may be permissable to one who is theatrical, poetic, and possibly vain. A practical joker unless the joke's on him, Rep. Kennedy is social, magnetic, and a natural diplomat. Quick-witted, his ethical conscience makes Politics-as-public-servant a good fit career wise. Monday March 13, 2017: for those who consult Sun-Moon personality blends of politicians and poets, the discovery of who shares a natal Sun-Moon blend with another famous person can be revealing although we may not always understand what is being revealed since sometimes the pairs who share personality blends seem more different than similar. Yet often their personalities can be perfectly described by their Sun-Moon blends. For illustration, we might refer to the shared blends of Mr. Trump and......guess who?

Now if you wish, check out the (Uranus Rising = coping ability) natal chart of Franklin D. Roosevelt and the natal chart of George Gordon Byron and you'll see that they share the Sun Aquarius-Moon Cancer personality blend of the 'humanitarian idealist'.

(Speaking of idealism, it's curious that both men's lives involved them in war efforts on the 'white hat' side, wars that were fought ostensibly for the sake of liberation. But war must always begin under a pretext, mustn't it? Otherwise, very few people would sign up to do the fighting.)

Now this misty, ethereal Air-Water combination of energies tends to possess 'a wonderful sense of humor' due in part to its cooperation between mind (AQ) and emotion (Cancer). And yet in 2017 that sounds a lot like what we have now--a stark revolutionary crisis.
