So when we look astrologically for high finance, corporate banking, the Federal Reserve banking system, and America's money concerns we soon must consider the high stakes planetary combination of Jupiter and Pluto. A previous post, written prior to the current government shutdown/credit downgrade drama forced upon us by House Republicans provides a view of the Jupiter-Pluto Conjunction of November 12, 2020, part of the 13-year Jupiter-Pluto Cycle now influencing financial matters.

Occurring at 22Cap51, the conjunction landed upon the natal Vertex of one Donald Trump for whose approval the maga House members stage all their clown shows and political kerfuffles, hoping to blame President Biden for the negative consequences of their actions, and thus affect outcomes in the 2024 Election - in their favor!

And yet we know that Republicans engage in such underhanded measures no matter the collateral damage to the public because GOP policies are anti-constitutional, anti-democratic, fascistic, and are intended to collapse the US government "small enough to drown it in a bath tub," as Republican Grover Norquist so instructively informed us years ago. After all, hollowing out the US government and establishing authoritarian fascism is what The GOP's PROJECT 2025 is all about.

July 26, 2020: In 2005, as Stars Over Washington was getting underway, I determined that Western Tropical Astrology would be used to scrutinize (and criticize!) American politics and politicians, plus, as my lens to check out historical and current events with a leaning toward the common good. After all, life on Earth is complicated as is any system of analysis used to describe it in some sort of manageable fashion for the curious reader. My choice was more or less intended to keep things squashed down to a "dull roar" if you know what I mean even though trying to limit infinity via Astrology or by any other means is a sisyphusian task. Topics are too broad, problems are too deep, secrets too hidden, and most events occur due to long-standing karmic conditions mishandled in the past and often left unaddressed. Astrological Pluto, with its 248-year cycle, knows all about karma and past mistakes left uncorrected - until permanent change takes the lead as if unbidden.

However, one As Above So Below topic now rears its fire-breathing head above the rest in 2020, while a certain culmination draws near and its primary protagonist is known to even the least astrologically informed Earthling. That is the US Pluto Return creeping into Collective awareness in part due to the plethora of plutonian themes we're now swamped by including income inequality out of control and the deadly pandemic invading American society. (Not to diss pandemic and economic losses and problems elsewhere but this is a post about Washington DC as representative of America, hence its title, SO'W.)

Even the sign through which predator Pluto the Invisible now stealthily creeps as he vultures toward his 1776 degree in Saturn-ruled Capricorn adds fuel to our feelings of general alarm with Reinhold Ebertin labeling Pluto in Capricorn as, "the dictator." When draconian-totalitarian-fascist regimes arose in the 1930s with their destructive spirit on brutal display and bigotry in their shriveled hearts, Pluto was moving through Capricorn's opposite sign of Cancer (Ebertin's "the magician" placement). But these days, fascists in the US and elsewhere are banking on a culmination of Plutonian control and manipulation shown by Pluto-opposite-Pluto (from tribal Cancer to governmental Capricorn) as a Full Moon timing device for their devilish 'dream of transformation becomes reality'. During decades of preparation they have extended their methods and influence since the Nazi era and are expecting global success once America is 'taken down' a la Trump and his totalitarian backers.

Loss Leaders of The Fray

Of course, the January 2020 Great Conjunction of compressive, harsh Saturn and Pluto timed a major signal or shift of draconian intentions and activities for conjunctions of any planets are actually New Moons that express the seeding of a new cycle of activity in relation to the particular planetary energies involved. A watershed moment of global difficulties was reached with Year 2020 acting the role of 'cosmic star' of that particular Saturn-Pluto drama of brutality, control, and loss. Waiting in the wings of 2019, the Covid-19 pandemic soon made itself felt and its release was touted as a giant 'oops!' although on several occasions suspicious me has termed it purposeful and targeted for mismanagement, especially in the US. Because to this Daughter of the Revolution it seems no coincidence that the catastrophic pandemic was timed to sabotage Election 2020 and add its destruction to the collapse of America. Now you, dear reader, may disagree but there it is.

So today with the ramping up of complicated situations in full swing as the world careens toward 2021, many folks are searching for all the Pluto Return info they can find. Therefore, I'm recommending an expanded view of the US Pluto Return/s by expert astrologer Kenneth Bowser using his preferred system, the Western Sidereal. For as you know, in the Tropical system, America's Pluto 'returns' to its July 4, 1776 position of 27Cap33 multiple times (due to retrogradation) during the year 2022. But in the Sidereal system, the key year is 2024.

Does this timing difference indicate a conflict? Perhaps. Yet we know that all planetary cycles describe processes over periods of time so perhaps you agree that the Pluto-esque year of 2020 has brought events and conditions revealing that the world has entered a years-long dark tunnel of sorts, a tunnel leading to Pluto's Cave where The Dragon stands guard over piles of gold and precious jewels secreted far far away from - dare I type it - the 99%. We might even wish to begin counting our cave exploration jaunt from late January 2008 when transit Pluto entered Capricorn, a year of Collective losses on the rise via financial collapse while bankers, corporatists, and politicians made off like the bandits most of them are. But no matter when the modern Plutonian era began, it seems obvious that the global tunnel of turmoil extends into 2022, 2023, 2024, and beyond.

And despite Pluto's potential for regeneration, I'd even say that Humanity has messed things up on Earth very badly when we could have behaved so much better. That the elite class, its enablers, and wanna-bes now scramble in their attempts to blast off into outer space hoping to 'conquer' other planets seems more than a little pathetic to me considering how they've abused and plundered Mother Earth. Can anyone think the greedy wastrels would act any better in space? A puh! and a lol to such vain hope from yours truly! Of course, ridding our tattered Earth of their sorry selves would most likely be a bonus for humanity, wouldn't it?

Meanwhile back on Earth, the debris piles up - nuclear waste, garbage, and otherwise - as Americans face the return of Pluto to its 1776 degree which will activate any and all aspects and conditions of 1776 Pluto's position in the US founding chart/s - primarily, our national Mercury-Pluto opposition of crisis and social problems that cause anxiety yet which must be resolved one way or another. With psychological planet Pluto active we become aware that karmic progress, though much needed, is difficult now with transit Pluto making a series of oppositions to US natal Mercury (25Cancer) revealing that information (Mercury) is intense and subject to manipulation and 'adjustment' (Pluto) even more than previously; total control and vast power are sought by plutonian actors via US Election sabotage, among other fraudulent tactics that include the destruction of our laws, systems, and traditions. Yet our nation's Pluto Return marks a period when we must fight to preserve the continued existence of America as a Republic and must rebuild once the dust has settled!

So as I continue preparing my next post concerning our US Pluto Return (with a vast array of current events constantly interrupting that require attention) my hope is to keep the topic on the briefer side by using Western Tropical Astrology to view the July 4, 1776 horoscope that I most often prefer, set for 5:09 pm LMT Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Sagittarius rising ruled by expansive Jupiter exalted in Cancer. For the 5:09 pm horoscope shows two Cardinal World Points of manifestation upon the MC-IC axis (Aries-Libra on the WHY? and HOW? Points). That's Jupiter the Thespian in his many roles as the explorer, adventurer, discoverer, boundary-breaker, land-grabber - and banker, financier, corporatist, politician, guru, priest, and The General.

2020--2024 Solar Eclipses Echo 1930--1934

Since eclipses influence historical events, let's add a few solar eclipse notes comparing 2022 and 2024 with 2023 in between. Now the eclipses of 2021 may provide some respite but buckle up in 2022 for two Solar Eclipses occur, one on April 30th @10Taurus in the 6 North Saros Series ('relationship to authority figures') and the second on October 25th @2Scorpio, a 6 South eclipse that in 1932 timed the Nazi Rise to Power in Germany (and rise of FDR in the US) with themes of 'forcefully taking power' and 'expending huge efforts in group activities'. In 2023 comes a repeat of the 1933 Fascism Rising Solar Eclipse, this time @30Aries in the 7 North series ('deep passion long-hidden'). Plus, 7 South on October 14, 2023 @21Libra is highly troublesome as well with Mars-Pluto vibes and themes of 'immense power, anger, force', and/or 'crisis'. Then in 2024, another significant Great American Eclipse manifests, this time @19Aries in the 8 North series with themes of 'new-found inspiration, vivid dreams, inventiveness, and/or flashes of genius'.

Now naturally I agree with you that 8 North themes sound pretty good considering the eclipse themes of 2022 and 2023, even those of 2020. But that's only the case as long as its cosmic blink/wild card energies don't trigger evil genius on steroids. Am I right?

Saturn to Capricorn w GOP tax cut bill Winter follows

Update December 22, 2017: House and Senate voted to extend government funding until January 19, 2018 thus averting another lousy shutdown and, leaving work undone, have high-tailed it home for the holidays. Or, as WSB Radio's Jamie Dupree puts it, Congress Punts Most Decisions into 2018.

Update December 21, 2017: To avoid the bill's automatic Medicare and other cuts taking effect in 2018, an election year, Mr. Trump may not sign the tax cut (corporate give-away) bill until January 2018. If the trick is pulled, remember that little sleight-of-hand in November 2018 (midterms) with the GOP's massive cuts to social programs waiting around the corner in 2019. But such is the way of Politics, that "organized system of hatreds."

Wednesday December 20, 2017: As you've undoubtedly heard, in the wee hours of this morning GOP lawmakers passed their tax cuts and jobs bill not long after transit Saturn entered his own sign of Capricorn on Tuesday--almost as if congressional astrologers had planned it that way for the sake of symbolism. And though I've fussed over this giveaway to the wealthy who don't need tax breaks, I fervently hope that the alleged boost to the US economy will be a result of the legislation, secretive as it is with its "pass it to find out what's in it" flavor.

Mr. Trump hopes to sign the thing into law this afternoon which will make him and all of Washington's wealthy politicians and their meddling donors so happy for their long-awaited massive windfall!

In addition, Sun and Saturn conjoin tomorrow (12.21.17) at 4:08 pm est (00Capricorn) a few hours after Winter Solstice 2017 perfects (11:28 am est) as we see in the Solstice Horoscope and whatever benefits their hard work and loyalty bring lawmakers, corporatists, and other wealth-grabbers, benefits are not guaranteed for the rest of the country, or for the government since America's natal Sun-Saturn square will lessen the glow and may not be completely satisfied with the results of this bill.

Naturally, as 2018 goes on into 2019, Republicans will tout how necessary more cuts to social safety net programs will become due to America's emptying coffers--the coffers their tax cut bill will help empty. Note the GOP's half-hearted promise that they will eventually 'make permanent' the tax cuts for the non-wealthy at some point in the distant future, although emptying coffers suggest otherwise as income inequality grows.

Yet through all the greed, our national Sun-Saturn square (Cancer-Libra) demands taking responsibility for national problems and issues which include the care of seniors and the weaker members of society--and that responsibility is precisely what Republicans have dreamed of neglecting since the days of FDR. And if all this reminds you of an Ayn Rand scenario where The Corporatists take all their marbles and leave the society that made them rich--leave it to its own tattered devices--then you and I are on the same page. Now come to think of it, Ayn Rand must be dancing in her moldy grave which is something yours truly would not pay a nickle to see.

So for all Americans under threat of loss due to the GOP agenda (loss, one of karmic Saturn's more difficult lessons), the specter of a cold hard Winter knocks at the door and beckons us to take up our pitchforks against the thieves and villains of government. And yes, this is truly an 'eclipsing of America and We The People, thanks to the info-distorting Great American Eclipse @29Leo now influencing events and conditions via the 29Leo natal Ascendant of Donald Trump.

Yet 2018 cometh and we'll soon know more about the new conditions caused by this week's GOP tax cut bill for the next Solar Eclipse manifests @27AQ on February 15, 2018 as the 'We The People' Eclipse because it 'eclipses' our US natal Moon.

Obamaism vs Reaganism: Jupiter-Neptune and Pluto-Chiron

As we read in The Guardian the economic rescue made so necessary by Wall Street culprits and the continuing economic policies first perpetrated under Reaganism have not been replaced or corrected by Obamaism which arrived in the wake of the disastrous 8-year Bush-Cheney regime that undeniably culminated with Financial Crash 2008. That the Obama presidency is historic for breaking the color barrier and began with great hopes for positive change (something the 2009 Jupiter-Neptune conjunction/s inspired and supported) is obvious yet America's Main Street vs Wall Street conundrum remains tucked underneath a whopping income inequality divide. Many people agree that Mr. Obama saved Wall Street but Main Street? Not so much.

To paraphrase The Guardian article many Americans are finally waking up to our massively wide income divide. Yes, but will a majority of us fall again for discredited Reaganomics policies and candidates in November 2016? Will such sleepwalking voters show up at the polls?

Actually the Venus Cycle indicates that voters will demand someone other, or different which usually means a president of the rival party--Republican, in this case. There have been two exceptions to the Venus Prediction as noted by expert astrologer Bernadette Brady, yet 2016 Democratic candidates may be able to fulfill the requirements of 'the other'--Bernie for his Democratic Socialism, Hillary for her gender. However, in the Republican stable, Donald Trump may suffice due to his not-a-politician condition and even Ted Cruz could because he was in Canada though disqualified he may turn out to be.

Now those readers who were around Stars Over Washington since 2009 and before know that I have typed a large amount of words concerning Jupiter and Neptune as a pair of energies that represent potentials for 'the grand spirit, visions, big promises, flowery religious sentiments, get-rich-quick schemes, fraud, waste, speculation, hypocrisy (Ebertin)--and irresponsible, abusive, or reckless financial mismanagement. Political conflicts are also within the realms of Jupiter-Neptune (ex: Republicans vowing failure for President Obama since Day One). Such readers may be familiar with astrological principles and if so, they have not missed the significant synchronicity of the three 2009 conjunctions of Jupiter and Neptune perfecting upon the US Moon in late Aquarius as seen on July 4, 1776...mundane Moon = We the People.

The blend of this grand influence of the societal planet of expansion (Jupiter) and urge-to-merge Neptune (often a leader in fraud, falsehood, deception, loss, failure, and planet of The Masses, The Media, and propaganda) led us in 2009+ to be exploited by our dreaminess, by falling into a swoon, having little sense of reality, becoming involved in speculation and fraud, losing ourselves in plans which brought waste, loss, and instability for a majority of the public. That America's natal Neptune @22Virgo conjunct fixed star Denebola (to go against society) obscures Barack Obama's natal Mars @22Virgo made the use of Jupiter-Neptune = natal Moon easier for those who were aware of the significance of such cosmic occurrences that were timed to chime with our newly elected "rock star" president (Mars-Neptune).

The Neptunian veil cast over Mr. Obama's Mars denotes a lack of clear vision or understanding when it comes to the president's actions and motivations (Mars) which he and his backers have hidden behind when acting in secret. Neptune veiling Mars also accounts in part for the lack of trust in President Obama and we all suffer from this constant refrain from Republicans whether we share their distrust or not.

And of course, Mars is the warrior planet but this post is more about financial issues even though the Pentagon is next after Wall Street and the Fed on my financial mismanagement list since global copping and conquest are very expensive to maintain as are US military bases, CIA annexes, prisons, and our embassies all over the world.

So now, since the 1980s (or even the 1970s), we have increased Income Inequality thanks to a society that has devolved into more of a US Plutocracy than the Founders set it up to be. And as we face the November 8, 2016 Election/s, only a large voter turn out by Democrats can hope to deflect the GOP ('grand old plutocrats') from taking the White House and playing the decades-long game of Democrats grow the economy--Republicans harvest it dry (thereby creating more beggars out of the rest of us). This is a game set up by hidden hands secreted away in their European lairs (headquarters such as the City of London and the Vatican Bank) and it is somewhat visible in the World Bank, the IMF, and the Rothschild system of central banks that throttle the world's finances and resources while continuing to enslave the people via debts that can never be paid off. This exploitative condition between the 'haves and the have-nots' can be further described in Astrology by the Pluto-Chiron pair and all its -isms including Capitalism, Communism, racism--and primal violence.

Yes, the much-touted New Millennium has shown as a timing device for enslaving the world more tightly in the raptor's grip--in finances, total surveillance, politically, you name it. The current Pluto-Chiron cycle began with their conjunction in late 1999--at 12 Sagittarius, conjunct America's Ascendant in her late afternoon horoscopes of July 4, 1776 (I tend to use 5:09 pm LMT since it places 00Aries at IC though our Scorpio Rising chart is also descriptive). Therefore, Pluto-Chiron-r-us. But did Plutocracy need to announce its arrival as the New Millennium began? Many people were awake and aware of its tightening grasp upon our nation and government pre-1999 with the 60-year Pluto-Chiron cycle involving a transformation of mass consciousness, an expression of a mass need (Nolle)--and this we now hear in the campaign rhetoric of both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump.

Plus, how can we not wake up? The Sabian Symbol for 12 Sagittarius should have opened our ears back in 1999 into 2000: "A Flag Turned Into an Eagle That Crows"! Odd how the Bush gang had draconian changes to our traditional principles and freedoms ready to implement just after the attacks of 9/11/01--as if part of a plan. One question for 2016: is there a presidential candidate who isn't part of the plan? That's the one I want.

So since Democratic Socialist Senator Sanders is calling for a political revolution and because of his reform ideas and the fact that a Pluto-Chiron conjunction appears in the natal horoscope of Karl Marx (Marxism! Socialism!), I suggest that Pluto-Chiron's expression of a mass need is primarily the need to close the glaring gap in incomes in the US and beat Plutocracy of any political stripe back into its dungeon where it belongs if our allegedly democratic republic is planning to exist into the future.

These days an American family trying to live on $30,000 per year or less can't do much consuming, can they? I find it difficult to believe that they can keep up with excessive cell phone, internet, and TV service costs let alone health and car insurance, car payments, plus, rent or a home mortgage. It may be that the current Jupiter-Saturn square marks a phase when those who have been given--or stolen!--much (Jupiter) are being challenged to give back (Saturn) to the Collective and this imperative stems from the Jupiter-Saturn cycle and their conjunction of May 28, 2000 at 23 Taurus.
