Astro-Notes on DNC's opening Sep 4, 2012

Taking a peek at the DNC 2012 opening chart for September 4, 2012 @2:00 pm edt Charlotte, NC the Goal Point (MC) shows an Angular constellation which 'keeps on giving' when it comes to the relationship between the American people and President Barack Obama and one which he uses to good effect: Obama's natal Mars conjunct and veiled by US natal Neptune, our 'rockstar' combination.

Yet as you know, this planetary synchronicity may also hide his true motivations and actions and cause us confusion and disappointment especially since our expectations were set overly high for one president to satisfy--especially when half of Washington's politicians were/are determined to see him fail and have no compunction about allowing America to fail with him--as long as they win. Yet is Mr. Obama's tarnished pedestal now too dull to allow him to continue his administration's goals for a second term? Can fours years possibly be enough time for a president to repair 8 long years of Republican heisting, greed, and wars fought on credit card?

Or will voters abandon Pres. Obama in a snit of impatient miffdom and take an even more plutocratic-oppressive course with the Saturnian Romney-Ryan platform of austerity, disenfranchisement, and hardship? Of course the conjunction between the president's motivation-action-desire planet, Mars, and our national planet of dreams, visions, and ideals, Neptune--in the sign of Virgo (Work and Dedicated Service; employment) is significant at MC in relation to our aspirations and for what we may expect from the 2012 Democratic Convention as it proceeds and its platform of investment in the America is spotlighted.

A culmination will be reached the evening of September 6th when the President accepts his party's nomination for a second term after being nominated by former President Bill Clinton on Wednesday night, Sept 5th. Mention must be made of the Sept 6th transit of Mars 9Sco+ to the president's natal Neptune, a time when actions may be creatively inspired but also secretive, unwise decisions may be made, and caution around gas, chemicals, and water is advised. Or perhaps this Mars-Neptune transit simply underscores our shared Mars-Neptune connection for his speech should be quite an uplifting experience expressing compassionate idealism!

Now some say that on Sept 5th, Mr. Clinton may pull a 'Chris Christie' and talk mainly about himself and his accomplishments rather than of Barack Obama but I doubt the Comeback Kid would be that tone deaf to what We the People are wishing to hear. Do you? Unless you tend to revel in the Clinton mystique, that is.

DNC 2012 opens Sept 4, 2012 Charlotte NC

Now I'm looking at the DNC opening's horoscope set for 2:00 pm edt (with no time to search for more timely info!) because that's the hour that RNC 2012 opened on August 28, 2012. This makes for a fair comparison of charts even if the DNC opening hour isn't precisely 2:00 pm. And delegates are already descended upon Charlotte as I type along with protesters against the Ds' use of corporate money (campaign contributions, DNC in corporate venues, which I decry as well but where else is large enough for expected crowds?)

Well, tomorrow at 2:00 pm Sept 4, 2012 Charlotte, NC, we find 8Sag45b Rising which makes Jupiter *14Gem57 the chart-ruler and which emphasizes the polarity of Fixed Stars Aldebaran and Antares--success through integrity, and obsessed with success These stars were emphasized in the RNC 2012 chart as well (2:00 pm) and I leave it for you to place the emphasis on which party expresses which archetype most closely though naturally Politics in general is constantly influenced in these ways. But with a Fixed Star, its 'caution' or flaw to avoid will at some point bring loss of success if tempering advice is neglected or ignored.

A Notable Difference: RNC v DNC

On August 28, RNC 2012's opening (with Jupiter as chart-ruler and ruler of NN 00Sag14 rising which conjoins Paul Ryan's natal Neptune--contact with and possibly deception toward the masses) and that of DNC 2012 with 8Sag45 rising is that for the GOP (a Jupiter-named entity--'grand' yet with Saturn's 'old'), there were no major applying aspects to or from Jupiter; for DNC 2012, Jupiter and the Sun (leadership) are applying to a dynamic square (2A21) indicating that goals can be achieved but over-promising is a no-no for future success. '2:00 pm' on both Aug 28 and Sep 4 rises during an Hour of Jupiter, planet of vision, ideals, religion, and ideology, including political ideology.

This week, transit Venus (evaluations; national treasury; relationships; the attraction principle) has come to opposition with US natal Pluto suggesting a time of cut-throat competition, underhanded manipulations, passionate power struggles, jealously, and past slights which have no real connection to present circumtances.

And while the American people may be gripped by forebodings over the entiure political process and what any of them intend to visit upon us--some of which are irrational fears instilled by propagandists--a hint of RNC 2012's Lunar occultation of mystical Neptune (@1Pis+) as Mitt Romney accepted his party's nomination reverberates in the DNC 2012 chart from a Moon-Neptune sextile (Tau-Pis) which forms a YOD (crisis; crossroads; special task; spiritual opportunity; karmic decisions) that points toward US natal MC (The Goal; US n MC = 1Lib in Sibly chart) which lends DNC 2012 a midpoint picture any, all, or none of which may apply:

Moon-Neptune = MC: imagination can pay off significantly (Tyl); gaining notoriety by explaining visions of the future; personal guarantees which may be unfulfillable (Munkasey); a sensitive and inspired character; being gripped by forebodings (Ebertin.)

If DNC 2012 opens after lunch tomorrow, the Moon (we the people) will have left Martian Aries (protests?) and entered Venus-ruled Taurus where Luna is exalted.

This gives DNC 2012 a financially savvy, kindhearted Sun Vir-Moon Tau flavor which is shared natally by actor Peter Sellers who advised us that, "There are some satisfactions you can only find in work."

Here's an intriguing excerpt from a fascinating ZeroHedge article concerning gold, the Federal Reserve Bank, financial matters 1951 v 2008/12, and the Fed-Treasury Accord of March 3, 1951 (think, President Harry Truman):

"Why is March 3, 1951 such an important date? Because, more than anything, the confluence of events that led to the "Accord" signed on this day have extensive parallels to our current situation, as the attached paper by the Federal Reserve of Richmond shows in exquisite detail, yet 100% in reverse."

Now you know I'm going to take a quick peek at the planets of March 3, 1951, right? Hour of the Accord signing is unknown so 'noon' in Washington DC will be used.

ASC 29Gem10 (a critical-crisis degree, opposite '30Sag' setting: "The Pope Blessing the Faithful"); Hour of Mercury (@5Pis37 conjunct MC 6Pis54--where transiting Chiron is now); a 10th house line-up of Sun 12Pis19 (leader), Jupiter 18Pis23 (bankers), NN 19Pis02 (future direction; meetings; the public), Mars 1Pis23 (where tr Neptune is now, off and on--perhaps the mask of 1951 has slipped a bit?), and Venus 8Ari18 (where tr Uranus, the disruptor and The Witness, is now...new directions; freedom in partnership is needed = US Treasury audits the Fed's gold!)

This horoscope is an interesting read and if you've never seen it, I recommend a peek since the 1951 Accord marked a major change of power, authority, and direction for the US government and within our financial system. Plus, if you're curious about the Fed, its secretive ways and its gold, the US Treasury, and the establishment of centralized power in the US, a reading of the above-linked article may prove of great value.

Double YOD, Double Trouble?

Also in the horoscope is a pile-up of YOD energies, a pattern indicating crisis, crossroads, turning point, major adjustments, and/or a special task (aka, a Finger of God configuration) and it is my belief that our beloved America took a wrong turn on March 3, 1951. One YOD involves Neptune 19Lib05 Rx in 5th H of Gambling and Risk-Taking, and the 2nd H Pluto at its base (the Robber Baron planets sextile one another) which points to Jupiter and to NN; plus, an intertwined YOD with Jupiter and NN sextile Moon 18Cap41 (conj 8th cusp 19Cap41--both degrees are implicated in the 3 Great Conjunctions of 1993 of the Illuminati planets, Uranus and Neptune.) These sextiles (Moon w Jupiter, Moon w NN) point to manipulator Pluto in 2nd house thus furthering complexities of the events of 1951 as reflected in the horoscope fo the Fed-Treasury Accord signing...As Above, So Below.

Now there is one midpoint picture from March 1951 which needs mentioning for it involves powerful, super-wealthy and stealthy Pluto (18Leo07 Rx, in 2nd H of Money and the US Treasury in Mundane Astrology.) Slow-moving Pluto, aka, Mr. Underworld/the Syndicate boss or cartel is at apex of this midpoint and would have been in effect for days no matter the hour on March 3, 1951 that the Accord was signed. It denotes Truman's war as well as a generally difficult social and financial atmosphere around the globe...old Saturn = status quo energies and new Uranus = progressive or futuristic concepts...always a brittle combination of planetary energies:

Occurring during the final days prior to the public reading of the Declaration of Independence (and its partial signing on July 4, 1776, the date America's founding fathers seemed to have preferred us to celebrate as Independence Day) is a Full Moon @10Cap12 (Sun 10Can12 on July 1, 1776, a lunation which was recently 'eclipsed' or triggered by a Solar Eclipse @9Can12 on July 1, 2011.)

Below is displayed our Syzygy Moon horoscope with some rather messy chart details added by yours truly; please click image to enlarge; according to my SolarFire software, this Full Moon became exact at 10:30:06 am LMT Philadelphia, PA, and is the last lunation prior to our nation's birth (pre-July 4, 1776):



ASC 20Vir13 makes Mercury chart-ruler and brings up Fixed Star Denebola (to go against society; if rising: good fortune attended by dangers and anxieties, because of folly--DeVore.)

Venus 29Gem05 in 10th H is at a critical-crisis degree (29) and hurrying to reach Cancer where she will reside on July 4, 1776 in the 3-4 degree range and nearer to moneybags Jupiter ('6Can' = "Game Birds Feathering Their Nests"--Jones.)


Mercury's three applying aspects tell how things proceeded on this date, in this place, and at the hour of a culminating Full Moon showing an end of a phase of activity.

Chart-ruler Mercury applies:

1. semi-square Uranus (1A36; 45 degr) shows minor irritations between youthful orators, writers, and/or businessmen and the radical politicians and geniuses of the day; minor adjustments to future plans were necessary.

2. sextile Neptune (2A59; 60 degr) denotes inspiration, futuristic insights, and high ideals guiding the participants; however, if distracted, this promising energy makes it hard to begin again with the same high enthusiasm as before for it's rather wispy; philosophically minded people are indicated who put spiritual values above material concerns--well, some of them did; Mercury in 11th H shows groups, associations, hopes, and wishes centered on Cancer, sign of shrewd businessmen plus, domestic and security concerns; NN in 11th H denotes meetings and group encounters of a creative nature (Leo.)

3. square Chiron 20Ari04 in 8th H (5A17) gives mental exactitude, extreme opinions, high intuition, and a potential for creating magic (Clow.)

And as you see, our eye-in-the-sky, mind-controlling Mercury/Pluto opposition is separating as on July 4, 1776, but its unconscious influence continues to track and bedevil us when it isn't coping with problems of its own.


In Mundane Astrology, Moon = We The People

Moon inconjunct the planet of freedom and liberty Uranus @8Gem45 indicates recurring crises, anxieties and nervous conditions that lower resistance, and an excitable energy which attracts con men, politicians, and propagandists who play games in order to gain our willing if unconscious submission.

Venus inconjunct Pluto describes being left holding the financial bag (which has been painfully brought forward to 2007/08 and before--ex: corporate welfare and bank bail-outs), and a tendency toward financial over-extension which greatly added to our monetary woes. In its day, I believe this aspect described conditions of American diplomats going overseas to plead our cause and garner funding to support the American Revolution with about one third of the funding coming from the House of Rothschild (whether all the founders were fully aware of this enslavement to debt or not).

This is precisely what President Andrew Jackson fought so vehemently against--foreign banks holding debt over the US government's head when we may have to tussle on difficult issues or go to war with them later on. Makes you wonder about the wisdom of threatening China, our biggest creditor, doesn't it?)


Since members of the Continental Congress meeting in Philadelphia were in great danger of treason charges with dire consequences from Britain, the enterprise's conditions were at critical points all through deliberations in June and July 1776. Perhaps you've heard that Benjamin Franklin (almanac writer and publisher, astrologer/Freemason, and more) wanted the Declaration signing to happen after the Moon left Saturn-ruled Capricorn (thanks, Ben! An Aquarian Moon is much better in the humanitarian department) and sailed beyond opposition to the Sun (the leader.)

This chart marks the moment when the Sun/Moon opposition (we-the-people v leaders) culminates and is at its strongest--3 days before our nation's official birthday which falls into this particular lunation cycle and describes mundane (daily) conditions within the environment.

Some indication of the Convention members' testy arguments and stand-offs are also noted here through the opposition appearing across the Cancer/Capricorn axis of security, reigning needs (Moon), public status, business, law, and government (Saturn = lawmakers; Sun = the ruler, or, leadership) as the Full Moon perfects.

Note: The term 'Sygyzy' refers to a yoking together by conjunction or opposition of a planet with another--particularly with the Sun, and here it's Luna timing her own Full Moon with relationship/awareness/culmination and fulfillment implications.

So with America possessing several versions of a natal horoscope with most set for July 4, 1776, why am I showing you yet another one to consider?

It's not my scampish streak, it's our current societal conditions and the very real prospect that subtle plutonian forces of infiltration have been and are working to take over our country to an even greater extent than they already have (exs: 9/11/01; the 'Patriot' Act; death-dealing drones across America, global imperialism, US military as world cop, US citizens left out in the cold--too bad, so sad, Americans pepper sprayed in their faces and eyes for protesting legally, US wealth and resources heisted away to foreign entities, SOPA as mentioned below, etc, etc)...and the fact that progressing our Sygyzy Moon chart (a day for a year) shows that US Secondary Progressed Full Moon @4Vir10 (a phase which reveals what should be the limit of our expansion into the broader world)...hasn't occurred yet!

Why 'yet'?

Because progressing the US 'Sibly' natal horoscope (July 4, 1776 5:10 pm LMT) results in a Secondary Full Moon @4Vir10 on December 24, 2008 and as we experienced, this timed the limits of our financial growth with the crescendo of the Bush-Cheney Financial Collapse 2008 presenting us with a major freak-out in December 2008. This may be because the 'Sibly' chart has Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius rising (The Seeker on a Sacred Quest--to bankrupt the entire world while protecting the wealthy, it seems.)

As you see above, America's natal Mars/Neptune square (misguided inspiration and actions; deceptive ideals; a misdirected military) is on full display--Neptune rising and Mars at Midheaven, the Goal or WHY? Point of any horoscope. And military Mars is, sad to say, the closest planet to an Angle in America's Syzygy Moon chart of 1776.


Saturn a Karmic Planet

The T-Square between Sun and Moon pointing toward apex Saturn gives info we don't usually obtain from other US natal charts since here, Saturn is within orb of the Sun/Moon opposition; Saturn rules the Moon (Cap Moon = major ambitions; emotional coldness or isolation) so the lesson-bringer's involvement is made more pertinent in the chart, and the business-oriented Sun in Cancer is ruled by the Moon.

Apex Saturn in a Cardinal T-Square shows managers with executive talents who tend toward impatience, ambition, and self-determination; difficult challenges are confronted head-on until objectives are reached; issues of domination and authority are involved and concerns of immediate importance are directly dealt with.

And you see there, Saturn conjuncts 2nd cusp (money; earning ability; values) denoting the dearth of money the Continental Congress had to work with.

Checking a transit chart for April 1, 2012, we find the Moon @6Leo48 conjoining US natal North Node (from July 4, 1776) which is apex of a YOD pattern (special task; crisis; turning point; crossroads) between Pluto 9Cap33 sextile Chiron 7Pis31 at the YOD's base--and the Pluto/Chiron duo work together to disenfranchise and oppress all whom they can while lining their lairs and pockets with goodies and loot stolen or exploited from people of all ages, stripes, hues, and professions.


Check out transits in the April 1, 2012 horoscope (5:03:26 pm edt) with its retrograde chart-ruler Mercury (@24Pis09 in 7th H), if you have a chance. With its 12th H (Politics behind the door; Karma; Large Institutions such as hospitals and zoos; Self-Undoing; the Unconscious) Mars 4Vir38 Rx (during his long stay in critical Virgo, sign of Work and Health), we may be in for an April 2012 of denials, delays in plans, equipment breakdowns, and the usual, tiresome performances of Opposition Politics so prevalent and debilitating to the national interests of the American people and which is now over-covered and promulgated with impunity by a complicit Mainstream Media that should act as the people's governmental 'watchdogs' but who choose to operate instead as willing and happy enablers of corporate Global Governance ideals.

In addition, did you know that America's Solar Return 2011 Horoscope also contains a YOD pointing to '6Leo' (position of the April 1, 2012 Moon.)

But in our SR 2011 chart of July 4, 2011, that position is held by speedy, Tweeting Mercury, twisting under the emotional stresses of career, financial, education costs and loans, and family anxieties as they prepared inwardly for a certain public debut on September 17, 2011 when they incarnated as the youth-infused Occupy Wall Street movement, with Mercury ruling young people, communications, oration (ex: 'The People's Mic'), commerce, trade, negotiations, thinking processes, plans, and education.

So will you participate on Election Day November 6, 2012? Just wondering since staying home is precisely the wrong course to take even though election results may be shady.

And do you want to keep Internet freedom intact? Then we must nix SOPA, the so-called 'Stop Internet Piracy Act'--a clever ruse of a name yet transparent in its attempt to more fully commercialize, surveil, and control the Internet while lowering and eventually stomping out any remaining vestiges of the democratic atmosphere that has so recently wafted across the Uranian-Neptunian waves of Cyberspace these last few years.

Our millionaire Senate is set to vote on SOPA on January 24, 2012 and this draconian bill will sail through to a corporate harbor if enough people fail to speak up and out. If it passes then subversive, controlling string-puller Pluto in staid Capricorn will win and we will lose a larger chunk of our republic and our right to exercise free speech than we may yet appreciate.


How much effort, courage, and sacrifice it took our early founders and patriots to 'win' for all of us a decent--and I say, living--Constitution!

As Benjamin Franklin replied to a shouted question as he left the Constitutional Convention on September 18, 1787 about whether America had ended up with a Republic or a Monarchy:

"A republic, if you can keep it."

This of course echoes the early rift between John Adams-Alexander Hamilton monarchists v the democracy championed by the Jefferson-Paine-Franklin-Madison alliance & their anti-King-George-III colleagues.

Yet since December 1913, the British-style Banking System rules the US government through the Federal Reserve System which is neither federal nor reserve-holding.


And so if we fast forward to modern Washington DC, Campaign 2012, political promises that will miss their mark, and actual consequences of political policies and decisions, many people note that there's little if any difference between Democrats and Republicans, and with this I must agree. Why, it's almost as if the power elites of Washington DC are not the real and final arbitrators of our concerns, you know? CRaZy!

And since the GOP is the prime party of monarchists in the US, our allowing headstrong Republicans to take control of the White House helm and bullhorn once again (so soon!) seems to me more grievous and damaging to our tattered Republic than what a sane people with scales fallen from their eyes should reasonably and self-interestedly allow.

At about 8:45 pm est, Mitt "I like to fire people" Romney was announced as the victor in today's New Hampshire primaries which was the predictable outcome for this former Bain Capital financial 'hitman' who signed pink slips hand over greedy fist during his years running the corporation and predictably boosted the company's bottom line. Legend has it, Mitt created a few jobs, too. Hmm.

And yes, his "I like to fire people" remark of January 9, 2012 has been taken out of context in order to hoist Mitt upon his own corporate spear of destiny.

Sometimes when people try to be 'too clever by half' they end up out-doing themselves instead of the people they work so hard to best. At least, my hope is that this is the case with the current Political Theater now showing on a Capitol Hill whose hijinks threaten to mess with Christmas 2011 for millions of disappointed Americans.

So far, no wrapping is needed for we can clearly see that the American people's gift from the GOP as we enter 2012 is to be held hostage to ideological zealotry and an oath taken to what they consider a higher authority than the American people: Grover Norquist, famous for his no-tax-no-government psychosis of futurist utopianism.

And current planetary energies include the oily special-interest, behind-the-door devils' deals made by the head lobbyist for the Keystone XL Pipeline whose name would be...Grover Norquist.

Did you hear that Hades has frozen over? For even Republican strategist and Turdblossom Karl Rove has told the GOP to cut bait and move beyond the December 2011 tax cut stalemate. Wow.


Frustration Creates Impasse! And It Shows in GOP Progressions

During the US Congress' debt ceiling-default-credit downgrade fiasco of late July-early August 2011, you may remember that a horoscope of the Republican Party's Secondary Progressions was posted to SO'W showing a crisis-riddled YOD pattern between Mercury, Jupiter, and Ascendant which has now evolved into the tangled yarn of political strategy that GOP leaders now, some say, must extricate themselves from, thanks in large part to the gridlock agenda of Tea Party members along with betrayal issues between Speak John Boehner and the 'Judas' standing behind him, Eric Cantor, if what some say is true about their rivalry.

Well, the 'grand ideas and plans' of Mercury/Jupiter at the base of the YOD does seem to have GOP knickers in a twist--and since I posted the above chart, their Secondary Progressed ('Sec') Ascendant--the Party itself--has reached a 29th crisis-critical degree (29Gem+) which points to the current impasse concerning the payroll tax cut extension, unemployment insurance extension, and the poison pill provisions that certain industries slipped into the bill--all of which shows symptoms of GOP ideological illness and a meeting at the crossroads at least partially described by the party's Sec YOD.

Now I agree that the US government has become an overgrown gorilla yet under the guiding hand of current ideologues, 'anti-government' turns out to be a cover for 'anti-society' as more and more Americans fall underneath the weight of politicians working against us, not for us.


Can Jupiter in Venus-Ruled Taurus Beg to Differ?

With the potential for a marred-by-politics holiday approaching, Astrology tells a brightening tale of Republican Party significator Jupiter about to Direct Station on Christmas Day 2011, in money sign Taurus (@ 00:22.) Will this forward move soon be expressed on the physical plane by a Republican change of strategy?

Looks like it! Occupy protests of solidarity are now sweeping across the face of Planet Earth--Hurrah!!!

New York City 10.15.11 @ 5:00 pm edt sees the ongoing Jupiter/Neptune midpoint (the speculators, wastrels, and grand schemers pair) still being triggered by political activist Uranus in action-oriented, Mars-ruled Aries which gives an apt picture of events for those with Astrology principles in mind.

This is the 'imagination v reality/sudden recognition of a difficult situation' picture as Mayor Bloomberg grapples, and the mainstream media continues their mock-puzzled commentary on what is truly a grass roots movement by 99% of The People who are fed up with global elite criminality and corruption.

Still Rx in Taurus, Jupiter (Mr. Moneybags) and Venus in Scorpio have moved beyond their opposition of yesterday with its extravagant/wasteful/social climber vibes and 'moderation is needed' caution.

The applying trine between Jupiter and wealthy dragon Pluto 5Cap06 continues as well with the Jupiter/Pluto pair potentially signifying: plutocrats, those who exploit others, squanderers, speculators, law and economics professors--and leaders of uprisings!

October 15, 2011 begins with Moon in late Taurus, Sun in Libra, and ends with Moon in Gemini (6:51) with Luna crossing into Gemini at 10:14 am edt conjunct fixed star Alcyone (beware: Alcyone = 'something to cry about'...tear gas? More pepper spray?)

Occupy Wall Street's Call to Action starts during an Hour of the Sun with the sensitive Sun/Neptune midpoint at Midheaven (The Goal; Aspirations; Public Status) so we have a picture of impressionability, mental and emotional stress (graduating with excessive student loans and no job prospects can do that to ya as well as losing your home and/or job with a family to feed), and a negative outlook. Of course, it's possible the negativity is on the side of our now-naked emperor banking class all duded up in their imaginary threads of integrity and superiority.

Either way, the presence of Sun/Neptune shows tendencies toward exploitation, deception, chaotic conditions, and/or scandals though inspiration may be present, too.

At 5:00 pm edt, 21Pis24 rises, making the speculator pair, Jupiter and Neptune, the chart-ruler and co-ruler. Jupiter's applying aspects are its trine with Pluto (1A56) and an opposition to Mercury (3A13) as mentioned above; Neptune makes only one applying aspect, a trine with the Sun in Libra, an extremely creative indicator showing that events should work out quite well today.

UPDATE 7:30 pm: turns out I was overly optimistic with that last statement: the NYPD is surrounding the protesters this evening with huge nets to round them up like sardines so the trine of the Moon--the people--with Neptune emphasizes Neptunian nets as NYC attempts to dissolve (Neptune) the protests. :(

Now back to our Jupiter/Neptune...

(You'll remember that 2009, President Obama's first year in office, saw a three-fer of Jupiter and Neptune conjunctions which all fell upon US natal Moon ('27AQ' = We-The-People) and I blogged its 'reality v imagination/becoming involved in speculation/instability and wastefulness' connections until my typing finger fell off because that and other cosmic factors detailed an undermining of whatever Mr. Obama purported to do to improve the economy and the lot of the American people.

Of course, I use Jupiter in mundane charts as the representative for the Republican Party and everyone has seen how GOP obstructionism has gummed up the works--not that I fully embrace the president's "the GOP won't let me" excuse for the sorry lack of helpful actions coming out of Washington DC. As I've blogged for years here and elsewhere, the ruling class has set itself against The People, and yes, this is Pluto/Chiron-inspired class warfare of oppression, exploitation, and disenfranchisement perpetrated by an ivory-towered Oligarchy.)

Another factor of note is that President Obama's natal Moon 3Gem21 returns to natal degree at less than one minute before 5:00 pm edt today when the rally begins! ('4Gem' = "Holly and Mistletoe Bring Christmas Spirit to a Home".)

In keeping with the critical events of this day--and with Mr. Obama's Lunar Return for I suspect he's feeling pressured from all sides, both youthful Mercury and powerful Pluto--the Moon in Gemini (sign of youth as noted) is apex in a YOD pattern involving today's Mercury/Pluto sextile thus creating a midpoint picture of emotional communication power, adaptability in thinking and speaking, and/or an obsessive need for more power and control (surveillance? agent provocateurs in the crowd?)

As you know, a YOD (Finger of God pattern) indicates crisis, a crossroads or turning point (as Occupy Wall Street becomes global?), and/or a special task. Adjustments must be made with two quincunxes (150 degr; aka, inconjuncts) involved.

And Mercury/Pluto, the propaganda/surveillance pair which oppose one another in America's natal horoscope, denotes potentials in Politics and Business for:

high security and intell activities (I'll wager all demonstrators are being thoroughly 'checked out' by The Establishment); political talk that offers abrupt changes (for the better would be good); communications satellites (spies in the sky) and contacts with intell agencies; toxic gases (and pepper sprays); business or transportation secrets; breakdowns in road networks (traffic jams?); self-destructive impulses in business (crony capitalism, for one.) Hypocrisy Increases Further Sullying America's White Hat

In the news during these days of Riots, Strikes, and Uprisings are many examples of US government officials criticizing other nations for repressing their populations who wish to protest against government.

Even Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been loose with her praise for those who are demanding democracy and better social conditions from their leaders such as those in Tehran (well, democracy is one of our primary political catchwords in America, a shield in times of assault in the Rs v Ds chess game of factions positioning for control of Washington microphones, gavels, and bank vaults here and abroad. NYSE now 60% German-owned....publicly, I mean, not just under the table anymore.)

High-handedly, Joe Lieberman and Peter King are leading the GOP charge to shove through the Shield Act in honor of a certain slippery foreign varmint name of Julian Assange because apparently the Espionage Act of 1917 won't be enough to permanently net and squelch their prey, they fear. (Unless as some say, Assange works with the CIA, or is their dupe, either of which is a masterful way of putting out disinformation with no paw prints on it.

News Flash from me: even if the US gov manages to put Mr. Assange on trial, convict, and sentence him, it will not add one iota to the slim sliver of good will a majority of the American people now have toward the current totalitarian, chaos-creating tactics of those whose predecessors usurped both our political parties and now masquerade as one-of-us.

Washington DC's faction wars can't solve our nation's societal ills (and aren't meant to or they could do a lot better than they're doing: such as admitting that fraud and embezzlement have gone on for years until now - US coffers are looted like the Baghdad Museum.) Nor will the draconian austerity cuts now threatened against the ill, elderly, and poor among us 'solve' things but will further hobble the US economy and cause more mass misery than we've already seen.

When a nation's meekest are not kept safe from rich plutocrats of the world, a moral line has been crossed similar to a society that makes a habit of using abortion as birth control. Both create bad karma for all must reap what they sow, even governments.

However, if my fellow Americans retain hold of our traditional national conscience in 2011 ('is this how America treats its citizens?'), we will not allow our resources to zoom elsewhere and stoke military enterprises, but toward the people who paid into tax funds and who must ask for a leg up to be given by those who've sought and made their fortunes with aid from American society. Make your money in America, support her when social conditions warrant it.

Yet actions always speak louder, we know, and if America has lower to fall (US natal Saturn exalted in Libra (sign of justice and balance) in 10th house of World Status and Career = a fall from grace if Saturn's lessons are disregarded by government. To whom much is given, much is required, says Saturn in 10th house. Plutocrats don't wish to remember such a thing so our protests are in part to remind them they need the consent of the governed or all their 'authority' will go pouf!)

Well, I for one, do not want our American society to fall by the wayside of globalists who honor no loyalties but their own (and their cabal oaths.) If they have hearts, they're in the wrong place and we see this as we observe and experience what globalists (or, the power elite, if you prefer) produce in the world...things like loss, grief, fear, and suffering. Survival of the Fittest is a theory put in practice by the win-at-any-costers with which we deal...it's the dog-eat-dog method of gaining (or stealing) worldly 'success' built upon the backs of others with eugenics the ugly foundation.

Yet most people would prefer to live their lives and watch their children develop in harmony. Media colludes by telling the public repeatedly that there are bad men in the world, beware. Why yes, there are, and I'm lookin' at a bunch of 'em on my TV screen spouting state propaganda over and over. The old "It's him, not me" ploy (like a Martin Short skit on SNL) never directs its energy in the proper direction for it's too busy redirecting our attention away from political misdeeds, crimes, and prejudices.

Therefore, no real problems ever have to be honestly faced; thus no solutions arise.

Never Having Enough, The GOP Wants What You Got

Not only are the Republicans trying to remove all vestiges of Women's Health Care availability in the US, they want to 'remove the authority' for enforcement and rollback to the 19th century the protections of the Child Labor Law Act of 1916, if Republican Jane Cunningham of Missouri has her wacky way.

Is support for a return to child slavery growing in US political circles? In 2011, are uppity manufacturing conglomerates gearing up for a new amassing of a cheap slave labor force in the US to 'compete' with workers' low pay scales in China, India, and other places where US jobs migrated for the benefit of corporatism's bottom line? How could our job-starved economy possibly benefit from adding millions of child workers to US labor rolls now unless profiteers know something we don't as of yet know? Has the GOP completely lost its moral compass? Is Cunningham's super-regressive, dark-age idea our only clue to their craveness?

The YOD of US Secondary Progressions 2001 and 2002

Astrologically, I'm looking at a horoscope of US Secondary Progressions (Sec) set for February 7, 2002, the date that George Bush signed a presidential 'waiver' exempting the White House (his nibs himself) from having to consider members of al Qaeda and the Taliban as human beings. In Bush's world, his oil-and-poppy-infused 'enemy combatants' then magically became less than human (a commonly used tactic which Hitler finessed); thus they were subject to being tortured in the crazed notion that information would be forthcoming with enough pressure applied. Resulting deaths were often only inconveniences and perhaps still linger in the way unsolved crimes and mysteries have of retaining secrets within their DNA. As a thing begins, so will it end, and with many karmic lessons learned - or unlearned - in between.

So the Sec chart with our Sec Neptune/NN (Neptune in fated Nodal degree: 26Vir29 Rx vs NN 26Can54) received our national Sec Sun (the leader) in 2001/02 at the very point in the Zodiac that inconjuncts both Sec Neptune and Sec NN creating a YOD pattern of crisis, a crossroads, turning point, special task, and/or major adjustment now ripe for activation by progression.

A big deal? I would say so, especially since the Neptune/NN sextile at the YOD's base had progressed into a position of pointing to US natal Moon 27AQ10 (so the YOD's base had progressed to a quincunxial relationship with our n Moon of 1776); our Sec Sun progressed to the apex position in the same YOD which created a double YOD pattern. Below are the two midpoint pictures formed with the intrinsic nature of the Neptune/NN combination indicating:

Thesis: leadership that is unwilling or unable to consider the demands of its people; ideals or national glamour are excuses for neglecting the growth and progress demands of the population or important groups.

Antithesis: scandals caused by foreign concerns; spies or terrorists enter for villainous purposes; an ill-adapted, inadequate hospital or medical care system; drug policies that avoid important concerns. (Munkasey.)

To Neptune/NN, Ebertin adds: exploiting, deceiving, and cheating other people; anti-social elements; lack of judgment leads to wrong ideas about associations.

These were some of the social issues we needed honestly addressed in the early days of the New Millennium. They were not. And things have continued to fester in America.

The long-submerged iceberg of theft and fraud in America surfaced to great fanfare and political theater with the Bush-Cheney Financial Collapse 2008 - and trillions of dollars simply 'disappeared' as if they never were.

Meanwhile, in the America of President Obama and Secretary Clinton circa 2011, hypocrisy uttered by governmental mouths continues apace and one may wonder how oppressed we-the-people will find ourselves when we finally follow Wisconsin's example and get off our chubby duffs en masse to remind Washington and local governments that their paternalistic abridging of our rights is completely unacceptable, a word politicians are so very fond of using when displeased.

For if Iran, Libya, and the rest of the restless are the goose, Madame Secretary and Mr. President, then America must be the gander. It's time we-the-people had a big helping of that democracy sauce, thanks. And leave our Twitter and Internet alone while you're out speechifying so inspiringly across the globe.

The Shadow of Reaganism and Its Trajectory for America

It isn't often I publish a post to shout-out a new feed just added to the Stars Over Washington sidebar yet today is an important exception.

Journalist Robert Parry's articles on Ronald Reagan, particularly Ronald Reagan's 30-Year Time Bombs, are a must-reads for anyone wanting a clear-eyed assessment of the Reagan era without the false reality of the rosy glow the GOP continually applies to Reagan's public image which, they hope, gives them political cover for their current win-at-any-cost activities.

With February 6, 2011 being the 100th anniversary of Reagan's birth, I have posted several entries concerning the Reagan administration of late so when my friend Alex D'Atria sent along a link to Mr. Parry's work, I was stunned to read what in my memory more closely resembles the reality of Reagan policies which have not - no matter how often promoted - brought positive outcomes for our nation.

Yes, the Great Communicator communicated all right and it was through the propaganda tactic of "perception management" that our society began to lose its already weakened grip on reality in the power elite's hopeful preparation for a one-world-government.

No, the preparation didn't begin under Ronald Reagan but since progress is gained by taking small steps, the New World Order totalitarian types used a compliant and often naive leader whose Alzheimer's began, as has now been confirmed by his son, Ron, while the Gipper was nodding off in the White House.

Therefore, Nancy Reagan must have known at the time but had to keep mum in spite of her obvious concern about her husband's deteriorating health. Yet there were others in the Reagan administration who were willing to 'take up the slack' of the duties of the highest, most powerful office in the land.

As Mr. Parry writes, "In the early 1980s, Reagan also credentialed a young generation of neocon intellectuals, who pioneered a concept called “perception management,” the shaping of how Americans saw, understood and were frightened by threats from abroad."

From Iran Contra to Afghanistan to 9/11, Parry's article looks backward and forward at the damage done by Reagan policies and I'm certain you've noticed this year, if not last, the many references in the press to a "30-year" time frame as if the 1980s have magically led to many of the dire conditions we struggle under in 2011 - with little or no mention of just who was in the Oval Office during the promotion of such things as deregulation (financial collapse 2008), the so-called clash of civilizations (Cold War; 9/11), and other Reagan administration implementations which have, as President Obama pointed out, "changed the trajectory of America."

That's quite an understatement of subtle propaganda! With the implication being that Reagan's rhetorical lifting up of our spirits in the 1980s put our nation on a positive course while everyone knows that the trajectory has been downward for all but the power elite and their minions. Even Reagan's 'shining city on a hill' are code words for the Utopian dream of the NWO crowd of corporatists and plutocrats - and to the Freemasonry-elected establishment of the District of Columbia. These days it seems astounding to me that the Republican Party and other neocon/Zionist-based organizations continue to be so successful in rewriting history, often by the light of a nostalgic, burnished Gipper Glow. So if you even suspect for one minute that Reagan's "Morning in America" has resulted in a New Millennium 'Mourning in America', and if you believe that truth still matters, you may wish to check out Robert Parry's assessment of Reaganism and the Reagan Years of the 1980s...and what his policies have sown and reaped for our nation and the world.

The Reagans Used Astrology So Why Shouldn't We?

A note before we start: politicians, their handlers, and/or secret society operatives know and use Astrology for timing their political and financial activities. As old J.P. Morgan famously informed us, "Millionaires don't use Astrology, billionaires do."

With the New Millennium, historically a time of major societal shifts, America's trajectory was astrologically heralded by the August 11, 1999 Solar Eclipse (horoscope shown set for DC) so famously predicted by seer-astrologer Nostradamus. This is the eclipse they call The Mother of All Eclipses. An alternate name is 'King of Terror Eclipse' (or 'King of Alarm') which some believe relates to finances as well as to violence. Given the rippling effects of the attacks of 9/11/01 on many levels of societal ills, I'd say the financial connection is a given with one clue the WTC attacks' Sabian Symbol for 9/11's Moon @ '28 Gemini' = Bankruptcy.

The August 11, 1999 Solar Eclipse @ 18Leo21 contained the rigid energy of a Fixed Grand Cross between the Lionine Sun and Moon, Mars (Scorpio), Saturn (Taurus), Uranus (Aquarus), and North Node (AQ) which relates to Scriptural prophecy (see article w/ chart, linked above.) The separative South Node of the Moon conjoins tech-savvy Uranus in the horoscope indicating changing technological and social conditions which disrupt people's lives, wars and revolutions, and the probable financial losses such conditions bring to society.

(Bush-Cheney and the neocons began the Iraq War with Jupiter the General retrograde, a signature of a 'bottomless pit' in the Jupiterian money department and of inconclusive 'victory'.)

With Uranus/SN falling in the 6th house of Work, Health, and Service (including military and police) in the 1999 chart, we think of the era's 'free trade' deals pushed by the Clinton administration affecting US employment conditions as outsourcing of American jobs was greatly ramped up. Afflictions to the Uranus/SN pairing only made our problems deeper with Sun/Moon opposing, Mars and Saturn squaring. And of course, a Solar Eclipse is a super New Moon, a major beginning of a new cycle of activity.

Mars/Saturn = Uranus: application of brute force; intervention of a Higher Power; a test of nervous strength; sudden accident; separation or a case of death. (Ebertin.)

Now as you know, some eclipses are so powerful that the degrees they fall upon are permanently sensitized and thus it is so for 18Leo21 (18 or 19 Leo.) On 9/11/01, transiting Venus triggered the King of Terror Eclipse of 1999. Venus Rx @ 2Vir09 arises in the 1999 horoscope along with a Royal Star of Persia, Regulus (which has this year precessed from 29 Leo+ to 00Vir00 - conjunct the ASC of the 1999 eclipse horoscope. Keywords: success if revenge is avoided. It was not. A bullhorn over the rubble of the WTC in September 2011 made certain of that as our national patriotism was used to emotionally manipulate us into war in the Middle East. Wounding Chiron in the chart conjoins Mr. Obama's natal Midheaven in Scorpio.

Historically, when rulers' subjects were dissatisfied and threatening to get out of hand, the king declared war due to an 'outside threat' (ex: the SCOTUS-installed, illegitimate regime of Bush-Cheney 2001 vs Osama bin Laden, former CIA operative.) This ploy works every time and keeps the serfs busy and united under incumbent rulers no matter how corrupt they are.

So! Why do I ramble on today about a past solar eclipse?

Because the eclipse Saros Cycle repeats every 18.6 years and the 1999 eclipse (1 North Series) occurred during the very early days of the Reagan presidency, on July 31, 1981 @ '8Leo' (conjunct the natal Mercuries of the Republican Party, George W. Bush, and John McCain.) Elsewhere I have called this the Reaganomics Eclipse with its YOD planetary pattern of crisis, turning point, special task indications, what Erin Sullivan has called the Finger of God configuration.

1N initially manifested on January 4, 1639 @ 13Cap48, a time link by degree with the present solar eclipse season from the January 4, 2011 Solar Eclipse @ 13Cap38, both of which oppose US natal Sun (the leader) and our Jupiter (finances) in Cancer.

And since this blogger's natal Sun 13Cap28 is now eclipsed by the January 2011 solar lunation, perhaps that's part of why I feel compelled today to bring up the topic of the 1N eclipses of 1639, 1981, and 1999, 30 years of societal retrogression in the US, and the tiresomely over-valued presidency of globalist-for-his-time, Ronald Reagan.

Did Dec 2010 Lunar Eclipse reveal murder of John Wheeler?

Perhaps you've read my post with chart of the December 21, 2010 Lunar Eclipse at critical or crisis degree (29Gemini) and you know of how often lunar eclipses uncover secrets and hidden activities. So it's already been stated here that the WikiLeaks leaks have to do with this eclipse in the sign of the messenger, journalist, and communiques, with the crisis-degreed part brought to the doorstep of a perfidious US government with the compliments of Julian Assange.

Even Assange's arrest warrant falls under the Geminian Mercury's purview.

Yet while the December lunation may not 'reveal murder of John Wheeler' as my post titles suggests, it may tell us something about the mysterious goings-on concerning Mr. Wheeler's bio-weapons expertise, his possible trip to Washington DC (12.28.10) to protest the US sending the deadly phosgene agent to Afghanistan, and other oddities including dead birds falling from the sky and millions of dead fish washing ashore (and other animal kills in various places - they've become a global phenomenon now.)

And the lunation's placement in Gemini does tell us that the Air sign's air travel vibe (the phosgene was allegedly flying from Arkansas to Afghanistan and had a slip-up in flight when phosgene 'got out' into the air - but naturally this is subject to further investigation) is in play and part of the critical picture. The epidemic of deaths relates to 29Gem's almost-Cancer status: 00Can00 is a World Point of Manifestation - and the science-related combo of Jupiter and Uranus just met for their 3rd Great Conjunction in Pisces, sign of fish, water, infections, and mystery.

If the release of phosgene is true (whether accidental or not), it could explain the sudden spread into a global epidemic (by air and water) of mysterious animal deaths (birds fly, too) along with Wheeler's purported tell-all, critical stance taken over phosgene when he was in Washington, plus, both disasters may be described by the December 21, 2010 lunation's placement in the 8th house of Death (with the chart set for Washington DC.)

Until we know what caused millions of animals to suddenly die in a violent manner within a few days, I hope anyone collecting or picking up animal carcasses is properly protected if indeed there is any protection from phosgene or some other chemical. And, of course, children playing in their yards must be looked out for in particular.

So if you nab a look at the Dec 2010 Lunar Eclipse horoscope, you'll notice that a crisis/crossroads/special-task YOD pattern - Finger of God - is highlighted and points toward the Geminian 8th cusp of Death. Not comforting, I know. But there it is.

And the Sabian Symbol for '29Gem'? "The First Mocking Bird of Spring"!

Dane Rudhyar explains this degree as referring to, "the capacity which the talented individual has to take collective material and to transform it under the urge of biological productivity..." (my italics.)

Taft touts US Chamber of Commerce under YOD influences

Last evening I searched for a definite founding date for the US Chamber of Commerce so I could set up its horoscope and April 12, 1912 popped out as the date when a group of 700 delegates from a variety of commerce and trade organizations met and created a "unified body of business interests that would later become the US Chamber of Commerce", as the entity's Wiki bio states.

The Chamber is also billed as being America's largest not-for-profit lobbying organization though I confess to having no idea where the 'not-for-profit' part fits in. Recently the COO of the US Chamber of Commerce, David Chavern, stated that, "We are not crazy or outside the mainstream" which makes me wonder how working behind the scenes in secretive ways cannot be considered 'outside the mainstream'.

So with my astrologer's cap in place, the date that really stood out because of its horoscope was December 7, 1911 when President Taft announced in his annual message to Congress a central organization in touch with associations and chambers throughout the country and able to keep purely American interests in closer touch with different phases of commercial affairs. If it sounds like Taft was put up to it, I think he was...read on.

As you know, in 1909 William H. Taft succeeded Teddy Roosevelt as president and some interesting possibilities exist between Taft's use of 'investment capital to keep the open door partially open to China' (America Interpreted Vol II: Since 1865, Woods and Gatewood) and the formation of the US Chamber of Commerce's mission to contribute to the "wholesome development of commerce, domestic and foreign." We might be tempted to wonder at the implications even then between business dealings of the US by way of the Chamber with China, America's biggest debt holder now. But that would have to be a post for another day.

December 7, 1911

Considering the current debates over the Chamber's acceptance of foreign funding being used to finance certain 2010 November midterm campaigns in the US, one could now wonder about its original 'purely American' reference in 1911. Taft's touting that its creation would "restore confidence" (in the wake of the bankers' Panic of 1907) and "excite enthusiasm" mark the endeavor as a decidedly Jupiterian event.

So! The chart for December 7, 1911 Capitol Hill, Washington DC (using 8:00 pm est - can't find mention of the hour of Taft's address to Congress) has not one, not two, but three interlaced YOD patterns of planetary energies indicating crisis, critical conditions, special tasks, and/or turning points.

Here are the midpoint pictures formed by the three YODs along with each planet's sign and degree; a mixture of Ebertin, Tyl, and Munkasey midpoints are used:

1. Ambitious Moon/Saturn = Sun 14Sag50: sobering times; feelings of enforced controls; separation.

Moon 12Can05 spotlights US natal Sun (the leader); Saturn 14Tau38 Rx. (US Inaugural Ascendant wasn't at '13/14 Taurus' until 1937.)

2. The lucky breaks combo of Jupiter/Uranus = Pluto 28Gem14 Rx (a degree of Bankruptcy): devices with the potential to transform the world; extreme efforts produce novel changes; reworking ideas to ensure they will be received correctly.

Jupiter 29Sco28 (conjunct US Inaugural Moon, we-the-people, on Jan 20, 2009); Uranus 27Cap00 (a Uranus-to-US natal Pluto transit describing a time when social conditions are on the boil and disruptive, and abrupt changes to life are encountered or produced; there are enforced and disturbing conditions which make psychological adjustments necessary; areas controlled or manipulated in the past are lost as transitions take place. (The Instant Horoscope Predictor, Skalka.)

3. Powerful Pluto/NN 00Tau02 (now known as a degree of violence and which has the plutocratic and oppressive Pluto/Chiron upon it in 1911; NN = future direction) = Jupiter: success through using people to their highest potential as manager of their affairs and activities.

Apex Planets in YOD configurations:

Sun indicates those who are pressured to make adjustments in how power and authority are expressed with the quincunxes to the Sun showing elements of ego-deflation (Taft?); major new conditions bring dramatic changes in character and cannot be avoided (karmic brought about by past actions and behavior); objectives on the horizon require full attention and inner strength; an alchemical power may make a reorganization of the central core possible; if mismanaged, this YOD with apex Sun indicates 'abuse of power with fateful repercussions'.

Jupiter indicates a broadened social vision yet expectations may fall short of their promised potential until the YOD's energies are fully activated at which time a formerly held belief or ideology is dropped as a new world view inspires; Jupiter's broadcasting function of new social concepts takes place in an effort to stimulate mass consciousness; if the energy is mismanaged, a strong impact on the masses occurs but with fateful consequences brought on by self-aggrandizement. (The Sibly and some other versions of America's natal chart with Sagittarius ASCs are ruled by monied, ideological Jupiter.)

Pluto is a karmic planet and even more so as apex in a YOD pattern for YODs are karmic on their own; objectivity is lacking and obssessions run deep for this 'ivory tower' planet; psychological changes are forced or enforced; past conditions must 'die' so they can be regenerated; open defiance that undermines existing authority at any cost is noted as a new level of power is adopted which gives Pluto organizational control over the super-structures of society; a new order of things is ushered in which revolutionizes world concepts. (Dynamics of Aspect Analysis, Bil Tierney; my bold and italics.)

The Pre-Natal Eclipse Series of Taft's Dec 1911 message to Congress is the 3 South: 'traumatic transformations; sudden endings of associations' (Brady's Predictive Astrology.) 3S last manifested on Dec 14, 2001 around the time the US military had bin Laden (allegedly) on the run but let him slip away.

Well, there are more chart factors and patterns (a Mystic Rectangle, an Air Grand Trine, and a Grand Cross!) to be considered but that's all the blogging time I have for today so hopefully a partial picture of the shadowy US Chamber of Commerce emerges from the dross posted herein. (Set up the chart yourself for more insights! Obviously, these chart factors were at work on many levels of existence, not just for Taft and the Chamber.)

Of sassy Virgo virgins and Mars-Neptune quincunxes

Today I've been moseying around the internet picking a small bouquet of articles for you, dear reader, and you simply cannot go wrong with Julie Demboski's take on the current Virgoan energies now shared between lovers Venus and Mars.

Mars now quincunxes (inconjuncts; 150 degrees) nebulous Neptune and shaman Chiron so check out what Julie has to say about this week's Virgoan sassiness with her usual clear-eyed, clearly explained planetary info.

Then Donna Cunningham points us all to the August-September issue of The Mountain Astrologer Magazine where we'll find her brilliant article on quincunxes, the square-peg-in-a-round-hole aspect that figures prominently in Finger of God patterns (YODs) when two quincunxes point to a third planet; the two planets in sextile (60 degrees) make a base which results in a shape that favors a squooshed triangle, third planet/s at its apex.

In Astrology, YODs denote a special task or purpose, a crisis, and/or turning point and in natal charts may indicate a purpose, lesson, or undealt-with condition passed down through the generations. It's time to deal in your lifetime with the issues shown by the involved planetary energies if you have a YOD in your chart. And when a YOD pattern forms by progression, it can be like an alarm clock going off saying, Get Busy. Outer planet involvement shows a larger condition which may need your input on behalf of the collective.

Yes, the quincunx is a major, not a minor aspect!

In fact, Mars quincunx Neptune gives an over-anxious, impatient quality to their hook-up and indicates failure of efforts even though one attempts to assert oneself positively. Postpone any hastily made plans when Mars inconjuncts Neptune (whose foggy, nebulous energies tend to gum up or confuse matters quite regularly on its own!)

Relationships can make huge demands on us under a Mars-Neptune quincunx so exploitation is a potential; we find it difficult to see through other people's insincerity. Machinery failures are common, and we're also vulnerable to infections so do what Mama said: wash those hands and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze please. Even psychosomatic conditions may act up or sabotage us under this influence (which Neptune tends to have a hand in even without Mars coming along.)

And anyone considering doing something shady under Mars quincunx Neptune should be prepared for loads of guilty feelings welling up inside (or even better - reconsider and don't do it!)

Mercury out of Shadow 6Lib13 Oct 14, 2009

This image is the horoscope of the minute that Mercury reaches original retrograde degree 6Lib13 and begins moving forward beyond Shadow area of the zodiac - Oct 14, 2009, 2:39 am edt in DC.

Mercury's rulership of thinking processes, communications, oration, debate, negotiations and contracts, writing, travel, and the neutral planet's Trickster, Messenger, Teacher, Trader guises make it the most significant planet in any chart.

And considering that the opening session of the United Nations this week has yielded some globally significant speeches, plus the many other mercurial things that are going on in the collective, gives me a good reason to publish this chart of the minute the Messenger leaves the Shadow.

During Rx periods, mercurial issues and events don't just come to a halt, as we know, though travel glitches may occur, and plans may have to be rethought, revised, or redone. Putting newly developed or revised plans into effect, however, may go smoother if one waits until Mercury turns Direct, which occurs on at Direct Station on Sept 29, 2009.

Yet with Very Important Issues, one may wish to wait further until Mercury leaves the Shadow, which in the case of this Rx period, is @ 6Lib13, Oct 14, 2009. One thing about Mercury Rx periods is that what seemed such a good idea or plan during Mercury Rx turns out to be riddled with holes when Mercury subsequently turns Direct. And waiting to implement ideas until Mercury leaves the Shadow range of degrees only increases their chances for successful implementation.

As you see, the greater benefic, Jupiter 17AQ10, is moving forward on Oct 14 from his recent Direct Station. Neptune Rx @ 23AQ49 is conj Desc from 6th house with Chiron's health influence there, too. The possibility for Health Insurance Reform is not in a strong position in this chart but a cadent house (6th) indicates preparations continuing.

Another reason I want to publish this 'out of Shadow' chart is that it contains two interlaced YOD patterns (YOD = Finger of God; highlighted in pink) and a Mystic Rectangle formed between Venus, Saturn (conj with Venus at critical or crisis 29th degr), North Node (NN), Mars, and Uranus. This is the 'practical mysticism' configuration as described by Bil Tierney in his Dynamics of Aspect Analysis. One must be willing to accept a point that is not a planet (NN) to call this a Mystic Rectangle...some astrologers are willing, some aren't. I am.

Rebel and Awakener Uranus 23Pis37 Rx is important because it is involved in both YOD patterns. In 8th house, Money, Transformation, and Death issues may be on his radical change agenda; in Pisces, scientific reforms or inventions may become more prominent; Uranus conj Juno (in Mundane charts, the abuser or the abused) indicates new and sudden 8th house concerns.

Will more financial abuses be uncovered? With our rotten-to-the-core economic and financial systems and the high and low level abuses so far, you don't need Astrology to tell you that that's a distinct possibility.

YODs indicate: special tasks, turning points, and/or crisis situations, so keep an eye on these Uranian infused YOD patterns as October nears and leads to November. An 'October Surprise' may be on political activist Uranus' menu as well.

Mercury's 'out of Shadow' moment occurs during a Saturn Hour with Saturn conj Venus, planet of relationship, values, aesthetics, and smaller amounts of money. As you see, a rising Moon is also at a critical 29th degree: 29Leo21 which conjoins, and rises with, one of the Royal Stars of Persia, Regulus...keywords: success if revenge is avoided. If one indulges in revenge, what has been previously gained may be lost. (Brady's Book of Fixed Stars.)

A 3rd house Sun 21Lib03, the chart's ruler, approaches lovely Fixed Stars Spica and Arcturus but isn't quite there yet. Asteroid Cupido is in 3rd house of Communications as well, with keywords: The Family, The Syndicate, Corporations, and oddly enough, Art. 'Cupidity' is also a possibility with Cupido along with a piercing quality (Cupid = Eros and the arrow.)

Instigator Mars, of quarreling and warring inclinations, is tucked inside the behind-the-scenes 12th house where many political deals are made; Mars sextiles the Venus/Saturn conj as one of the bases of the Mystic Rectangle pattern, and rules 4th and 9th houses.

Things may be said to 'begin' in this chart in the 9th house of Foreign Lands, Long Distance Travel, Higher Education, and Religion and Philosophy (Aries.) The Higher Mind is also the province of the 9th house, so will a mercurial 'higher plan' be revealed?

Mars is less than one degree from conjoining the July 21, 2009 Solar Eclipse degree ('systems fail; new methods and ideas are needed; any blocks may be violently or tragically removed', Brady's Predictive Astrology ); Mars conjunct South Node (SN) is an indicator of violence and war.

With this particular mercurial chart set for Washington, DC, it's clear that America's (mis) adventures in the Middle East are on Mercury's mind, and I think that plans for escalation or de-escalation of US troops may be revealed more fully in October 2009 - and with a few political dirty tricks gumming up the works and the process.

You will, of course, note 'baraka' and its close similarity to Barack (Obama); it sounds to me as if the president isn't top dog in the power department - unless the Eclipse' energy is used on a spiritual level! And 'overshadowed' reminds me of Sun, Moon, and Venus being overshadowed by Dark Moon W'mat2, a point that's difficult to find details on. I believe it stands for astronomer Walter Matthews, but I can't locate again the website with this info. Perhaps you can sleuth it out and let me know if you find anything.

As you see, there are more things happening in the Northern Hemisphere of the chart, thus in private, with only Mars and Saturn in the public sector.

Chart-ruler Mars 15Leo17 Rx in 9th house; co-ruler Pluto 3Cap49 conjunct Mercury 5Cap34 Rx in 2nd house of Values, Money, Earning Ability. Mercury and Pluto work well as a pair especially if you're fond of propaganda and persuasive speaking and writing - here on money matters and values (2nd house), and the spirit of opposition (politics.) This is the 'deep thoughts' combo, too, which can be cruel in its perceptions and in speech.

Affecting Mercury and Pluto is a transiting midpoint particular to this chart and Eclipse, a midpoint indicating instability and high receptivity: Neptune/ASC.

Nep/ASC = Mercury: deceiving oneself about other people's character; exploiting the weaknesses of others; taking the wrong path; malicious scheming; guided by wrong impressions; special perceptions; open to deception.

Nep/ASC = Pluto: an oppressive environment; difficulty tuning in; harm through deceit, libel, or malice coming from others. (All midpt pics from Tyl and Ebertin.)

And we can't forget Mercury's love of transport, trade, and commerce, or Pluto's links to wealth and manipulation - even 'transformative agreements' such as NAFTA may be on the menu with Mercury/Pluto, but Neptune will add confusion, deception, and possible loss from mergers (financial and otherwise) as 'free trade' agreements and secret deals affect the masses (Neptune.)

A Solar Eclipse in Capricorn implicates the sign's connections to law, government, business, and authority. And given the above flavor of the 12N Series blended with the chart's YOD pattern with Mc (Career; Public Status) as the area of manifestation - with asteroid Hygeia Rx there, too - I suspect a public figure may be felled by ill health, or possibly death. 'Rx' indicates to me that it's an ongoing medical condition which may get the best of someone.

Plus, Scorpio rising indicates medical or surgical concerns on the rise. Health Care Reform (or Medical Insurance Reform, whatever) is an obvious potential for the 12N Eclipse season of 2010 - and we may look back to its previous manifestation in 1992 and to the Clintons' attempts at reform!

~I also thought of Judge Sonia Sotomayor as she joins the SCOTUS in place of Justice David Souter, who couldn't or didn't want to 'carry on' - and yet that situation may pre-date the Eclipse by too long a time, even though one of the events brought by this Eclipse may be of a ceremonial nature. Yes, Capricorn is related to court systems, yet perhaps one of our ailing Capitol Hill politicians will give up an exalted position due to ill health (or med problems of a loved one.) Plus, YOD patterns can describe health crises...and there's health-related Hygeia at Mc being 'pointed to' by the YOD's base. The first midpoint to rise is difficult Saturn/Pluto, so we have...

Sat/Plu = ASC: sadness and mourning; placed in cumbersome circumstances.

A person of science and research (Cap's Saturn) may be described here as well; plus, Chiron (the wounded healer) is at Ic, opposing Hygeia. Ic is the Foundation of the chart and of the Eclipse, as you see; Ic is aka The Drain.

Speculators Jupiter and Neptune are in 4th house of Domestic Scene, with moneybags Jupiter at a crisis-ridden 29th degree (AQ.) How to pay for Health Care Reform? A 4th house disruptive rebel Uranus in contagious Pisces has no idea. But he might wish to interrupt someone's career all the same.

Then with Venus and Saturn ruling the Eclipse, a royal personage may become engaged or may marry, or otherwise take part in a public ceremony; Mars Rx is in royal Leo in the 9th house of Foreign Lands. Whatever occurs, the American public will hear much of it with the Eclipse falling in the 3rd house of Communications (in Washington, DC.)

Let's Close on a Somewhat Lighter Note:

The TV industry may be getting into the cosmic act with FlashForward, a new ABC series premiering on Thursday, Sept 24.

FlashForward's script involves a prophetic date as part of the storyline: April 29, 2010. You see, almost everyone on the planet loses consciousness and shares a collective 'glimpse of the future'...April 29, 2010, which makes 12N the Pre-Natal Eclipse Series of this imaginary prophetic date.

The production values of the program are said to be fabulous, and execs say they're making a commitment to perhaps 3 years' worth or more of episodes. Plus, having Joseph Fiennes in the cast won't hurt a bit, along with Dominic Monaghan and John Cho.

And though I don't think any of us need more Hollywood-esque 'end time disaster scenarios' to haunt our dreams, it will be interesting to see if the influence of 12N turns up in FlashForward's futuristic plot, weaving its spell as it digitally broadcasts in subliminal high-def.
