2018 Trump SOTU aftermath

During last evening's Trump SOTU Address, the PolitiFact server crashed as Americans fact checked Mr. Trump's remarks. His SOTU wasn't as depressing a speech as his Inaugural Address of January 20, 2017 but a 69% 'mostly false or pants-on-fire' rating in the truth department gives a majority of us little to crow over concerning last night's SOTU, the policies Trump touted, or the credit he erroneously assumed as his own (better economic and jobs numbers belong to Barack Obama).

Of course in Astrology, falsehoods (aka, lies) are the province of nebulous Neptune and with America's natal Neptune @23Virgo rising last evening at 9:00 pm est, a 69% rating for lack of accuracy can be no surprise. Even the US natal Mars, which problematically squares US Neptune, at Midheaven is in the dual and duplicity sign of Gemini and is conjoined by Donald Trump's natal Sun, also at SOTU Midheaven as he began his address. This put Trump's natal Moon-South Node conjunction at the IC of the SOTU chart along with starry Ras Alhague as you can see here. Note that the 29-degree chart-and-speech ruler Mercury applies to no other planets so Trump's 2018 SOTU address is likely to have little if any substantial impact. Perhaps the Neptune rising effect has something to do with it for the nebulous speech had no details, only wishful touting and, of course, the usual Trump boasting (propaganda).

All in all, last evening's SOTU with US Neptune rising square US Mars at MC served to place on the world stage Washington's warmongering and our national tendencies toward self-delusion, unreliability, and misdirected action. Am I crowing yet?

Nope I am not. And in retrospect, it seems that America's natal Neptune square Trump's Sun-Moon opposition was always going to be an unstable, illusory connection full of deception and unreliability. In Mundane Astrology, the Sun-Moon duo can represent such concepts as: pessimism flowing through the population, reading the attitude of the people while making public policy, national will forcefully imposed by leadership, and/or a loss of face in international politics. Well, Mr. Trump has not been shy about achieving that last one for it seems to be one of his primary goals.

Update Jan 17, 2018: in spite of any glowing reports you've heard, it turns out that Mr. Trump is borderline obese and has a common form of heart disease according to Dr. Sanjay Gupta. For some of us, this is no surprise just from gazing upon His Heftiness.

It has been announced that on January 12 2018, Donald Trump is scheduled to undergo an official medical examination at the Walter Reed Military Hospital in Maryland as required for anyone who plays the role of US president.

Considering Mr. Trump's age and his widened girth, metabolic syndrome and the health conditions it threatens is a potential. However, whether an honest "read out" of the examining physician's assessment of Trump's health will be publicly forthcoming remains to be seen but the spread of his middle via fast food consumption is disturbingly on display for all the world to see especially when golfing. As you can tell in the photo (which may soon be deleted from this post), the infamous #TrumpRump cannot be hidden by baggy golf pants!

So on January 12, 2018, what's the cosmic weather forecast?, you may ask. The hour of his doctor appointment has not surfaced so I peeked at the planets of the day and found that the Moon enters Sagittarius at 2:04 am est and the Sun is, of course, in Saturn-ruled Capricorn. Chances are Trump's exam will not take place with the Moon is Scorpio (between midnight and 2:04 am) so let's consider a few details for the Sun Cap-Moon Sagittarius blend in effect on January 12, 2018. These energies tend toward verbosity, pomposity, exhibiting intellectual pretension when feeling insecure, and a fixation on narrow, rigid views that can become moralistic. 115th Congress to Reconvene January 3, 2018

December 13, 2017: The US Congress has released its 2018 calendar according to Roll Call for those who are curious. Members of the 115th Congress are expected to reconvene for a second session on January 3, 2018, a typical date for this event. How do I know this date is typical? Because as a child I got the impression that they reconvened for little me whose birthday is on January 3rd! And yes, this Sun-Mercury-Mars-Jupiter Capricorn paid attention to Politics, even then, as did my parents.

Now many breaks are on the 2018 congressional schedule so you might wish to take a look and marvel. For example, summer recess on Capitol Hill begins July 27th, and they'll take one full month off starting October 13, 2018, just so you know. Of course, one 'biggie' event right off the bat will be the swearing in of the new Senator from Alabama and at this point in time it looks to be Democrat Doug Jones. Will Republican senate leadership balk at scheduling the oath-taking of a Democrat from Alabama? Hopefully, they'll act like big boys and do the correct thing but as you know, that's not a certainty we can depend on these days. Still, a huge sigh of relief must have escaped Mitch McConnell when Alabama's Roy Moore lost the Special Election last evening with all that controversial baggage of his!

As for astrological conditions on January 3, 2018 which will cosmically imprint upon the 115th's second session, its members and political events in the US until January 2019, let's take a quick peek at a noon horoscope, a time of day that gives the Codgers of Congress enough of a chance to mosey their patooties into their seats.

Meanwhile, Mars and Jupiter in sexy Scorpio announce their upcoming conjunction, exact on January 6, 2018 @17Sco55. December 13, 2017: As you've heard, last night Democratic candidate Doug Jones was elected to the US Senate by Alabama residents who thereby voted their state into the 21st century. Of course, Jones' opponent in the Special Election, the controversial Roy Moore, intends to contest election results if there's any basis for doing so (exs: military votes have yet to be counted, a difference of less than 1/2% will automatically trigger a re-count--and voting Mercury is retrograde now).

Contested, re-counted, or final, let's see what can be gleaned from a speculative natal horoscope for Doug Jones--speculative since no birth time is known so 'noon' is used but with a 24-hour range of degrees for natal Sun and Moon. Yet a few chart factors are knowable even without correct timing of his birth. For instance, Mercury in Taurus (logical thinking) and Venus in Gemini (courtesy and cooperation, a desire for discussion) are in Mutual Reception and thus 'friendly' with one another.

Born May 4, 1954 in Fairfield, Alabama (Jefferson County), attorney Doug Jones is known for trying and convicting the Klansmen who blew up four little girls in church in 1963 (for which I say, Major Kudos to Mr. Jones!) A 'noon' horoscope for Melania Knavs Trump reveals a double Earth personality blend of Sun Taurus-Moon Capricorn and describes a lady who is down-to-earth, logical, traditional, and has a need for security. A formal quality may be noticed along with her ambitious, realistic Capricorn Moon. Horoscope: Roy Moore Feb 11, 1947

At noon, North Node @8Gem36 rises (conjunct Mr. Trump's Prenatal Solar Eclipse degree which conjoins US natal Uranus @8Gem55) as does Moore's quirky maverick Uranus Rx @17Gem49. No matter where The Witness planet of revolution and independence is in his chart, Moore's natal Uranus and that of Mr. Trump are positioned in the same degree of the same sign. A difference between the two Uranians is that Trump's is his guiding oriental planet while Moore's oriental planet is Mars @13AQ30--conjunct asteroid Pallas ('the daughter') and Lilith ('the fallen woman'), with both representing feminine archetypes that are strong in the Judge's life due to their contact with a very intense Mars (made more so in its oriental condition).

DC Horoscope: Scorpio New Moon Nov 18, 2017

Here you see the Scorpio New Moon Horoscope of November 18, 2017 set for the White House. At 26Sco19, the New Moon rises and its ruler and co-ruler, Mars and Pluto, are also the ruler and co-ruler of the chart itself.

Fretfully, chart-ruler Mars applies to only one planet: co-ruler Pluto (0A37) suggesting distinct possibilities for destructive anger, power struggles, and revenge to manifest along with a potential for violence. This is an extremely karmic aspect hinting that past actions now bring obstacles and blockages (square) to current endeavors and it's easy to associate this with Mr. Trump's current political and familial predicaments and worries. And yet he may be feeling quite expansive and optimistic about now with transit Mars conjoining his natal 2nd house Jupiter (17Lib27) which is strong and Station Direct in his natal chart.

Still, this New Moon perfects during an Hour of the Moon (fluctuations, changes) and with Mercury in 1st house @17Sag25 and out-of-bounds, secret communications are occurring since Mercury is off on its own thinking and saying who-knows-what to whomever while ruling the Midheaven (Public Status; Career) of this chart. Curiously, the Mercurial MC-IC axis points toward America's Secondary Progressed (SP) Full Moon of December 2008 (4Vir10/4Pis10), a cosmic timing device that should have shown Washington DC that as a nation we had expanded into the world as far as we could safely reach--any more and we're overextended, a fact that many of us have been feeling in our bones ever since or before. It seems starkly obvious that military costs are sinking the US ship of state, as you may or may not agree.

Now in 9th house is this New Moon's Prenatal Eclipse (PE), The Great American Eclipse @28Leo52, the Total Solar Eclipse of August 21, 2017 that 'split' our nation into North and South halves and I continue to think that the primary theme of that manifestation of a 1 North eclipse is: information is distorted and possibly false (Brady). We now remain under its influence. Of course, when it comes to Politics and politicians (and the financiers they swear allegiance to) we should always keep that advisory in mind.

New Moon '27Scorpio': "A Military Band on the March"...keynote: POMP (Rudhyar). To this degree Adriano Carelli adds no word picture but he says that "political skill" can "sheer off" into "double-dealing." And here I was thinking that that was always a given in Politics!

So we plant seeds of our intentions at the New Moon and they blossom at the next Full Moon which will perfect on December 3, 2017 @11Gem40 with Gemini ruler Mercury Rx at a critical 29th degree of Sagittarius. This Full Moon will conjoin the Descendant (Partnerships and Alliances) in the July 4, 1776 late afternoon natal chart hinting at a culmination of some kind in the realms of US relationships. Yet we must avoid spreading ourselves too thin under the sway of the December Full Moon although the temptation to do so will be strong.

Tillerson and Trump: Two Mercury-Neptune Dudes

Donald Trump's Secretary of State Rex Wayne Tillerson, former CEO of ExxonMobil (2006--2016), was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on March 23, 1952. On that date, the Sun ranged from 2Ari33 to 3Ari32 and the Moon traveled from 27AQ47 to 12Pis16 which creates two possible Sun-Moon blends--either his is a Fire-Air personality of rationality, efficiency, and innovation, or a steamy, volatile Fire-Water personality that can scald as well as cleanse. Mr. Tillerson's Prenatal Eclipse themes are noted, below.

Setting up synastry grid between the natal charts of Mr. Trump and Mr. Tillerson shows a quite a few squares between their planets along with other contacts, of course. Apparently theirs is a dynamic relationship between two willful overachievers with big egos yet theirs may be a sympatico relationship enough to last awhile--or not. Paul Manafort: the Ram and the Bull

Mr. Trump's associate and former 2016 campaign manager and, for years, partaker at the Russian and Ukrainian troughs Paul Manafort was decidedly born on April 1, 1949 when the Tropical Sun was in Mars-ruled Aries, the ram, and the Moon floated through Venus-ruled Taurus, sign of the bull for the entire 24-hour period. This reliably provides a Sun Aries-Moon Taurus personality blend to consider even though Mr. Manafort's birth time is apparently not to be uncovered.

Paul Manafort's Sun Aries-Moon Taurus combo of conscious-unconscious energies suggests one who can be diplomatic or tactless, intuitive yet pragmatic, and is ambitious and possessive. Smoothing ruffled feathers has probably been part of a job description for him and making his mark upon the world is a goal. A lover of luxury, Mr. Manafort is great company and has a bawdy sense of humor. My guess is that the off-color Trump appreciates Manafort's sense of humor. But there's that massive ego which can get in the way of cooperation and teamwork--actually, another trait the two men share.

Magnetically charming, Mr. Manafort is a self-centered man who uses a stop-and-go approach (that can be annoying to others) and has an inclination to sulk and brood (can he also pout? I'd buy a ticket for that!) when thwarted or ignored. And that may be the moment when snorting Taurus the bull shows up to throw his weight around the barn or command the ring with a loud bellow or two.

The LBJ Library website has details on the signing of the 1965 Medicare Amendment to the Social Security Act on July 30, 1965 in Independence, Missouri at the Truman Library. The Amendment also established Medicaid and in January 1966, President Johnson returned to the Truman Library and presented Harry and Bess Truman with the very first Medicare cards. The website includes black and white footage of the events (audio may be partial).

An Astro-Focus on Medicare-Medicaid's Mercury @29Leo (noon chart)

Chart, below: July 30, 1965 'noon' CST Independence, Missouri; Hour of Mars; Bucket handle = Saturn Rx in compassionate Pisces; Mercury strains (29 degr) to join the Virgo line-up of Venus, Moon (1Vir56--16:47), Uranus, and Pluto; Mercury @29Leo conjoins royal Regulus. However, the Rodden Rating of LBJ's natal data is C (accuracy in question) and gives him an Ascendant of 26Leo57, the position of Trump's natal Mars rising and basically the same ASC-DESC (Leo-AQ) and MC-IC (Tau-Sco) as Donald Trump (with LBJ's natal Moon @9Vir52). Obviously, with Leo ascending LBJ's natal chart would be ruled by the Sun in Virgo rather than Mercury in Virgo as my Solar Fire v9 software gives. But however we look at him, that's a bunch of Virgo and July 30, 1965 also shows a bunch of Virgo with the first of three Great Conjunction/s of Uranus and Pluto perfecting on October 9, 1965 @17Vir10 (2. April 4, 1966 @16Vir28; 3. June 30, 1966 @16Vir06).

An operative 'societal' midpoint picture of the day denotes the planet of signings, amendments, bills, speeches, agreements, trading, negotiations and such, Mercury @29Leo58, as apex of the Neptune-North Node midpoint which tends toward quite negative qualities such as: a lack of communal spirit, antisocial behavior and/or exploitation (Ebertin). This would likely be financial and political exploitation, one must assume, since Washington DC and Wall Street thrive on exploitative practices.

Then with 1965 Mercury as apex planet of the Neptune-NN midpoint there were potentials for any, all, or none of: false expectations, unreliability, being let down by occurrences, secret arrangements made with others and/or deceit (Ebertin/Tyl) as President Johnson added to the benefits that FDR's New Deal programs had provided. Now in 2017, Lyndon Johnson's Great Society is again under siege by opponents of the conservative persuasion. Yet many Americans would prefer that Mr. Trump's 'Make America Great Again' slogan and actions uphold LBJ's Great Society programs rather than undermine them against the wishes of the majority.

August 2017: a 'Cosmic Blink' from a Solar Eclipse

Medicare-Medicaid's Mercury @29Leo will be 'eclipsed' by The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 in the 1 North Saros Series, the 'King of Alarm' series now repeating for the first time since its Book of Revelation Fixed Grand Cross manifestation of August 11, 1999 @18Leo. You know the one, The Mother of All Eclipses (One North) which begins a new 18.6-year cycle which will end with the 19 North and 19 South eclipses of 2034 and 2035 (Virgo-Pisces).

Besides, Medicare-Medicaid's Mercury and as previously noted, the August 2017 Total eclipse @29Leo, conjoins the natal Ascendant of Donald Trump and affects his rising Mars as well while activating royal star Regulus @00Virgo, the Zodiacal sign of health and dedicated work (see chart, upper right). Quite a cosmic blink! The primary theme of Regulus has been discussed in previous posts and remains: success if revenge is avoided. All four royal stars contain cautions to be avoided or their gifts will be taken away. One example is the adage pride comes before the fall and the sort of delusion America has suffered from since World War II's victory and the much-touted belief that Washington DC can force the world into America's image.

Plus, as you know, Paul Ryan (R-WI) has dreamed of "slashing Medicaid" since his "kegger days". Best to be cautious about taking revenge, Mr. Speaker, for the law of karma will have you reaping what you sow. And being drunk is no excuse!

Because they think the American public is that stupid.

When we relocate The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 to Independence, Missouri we find Medicare-Medicaid's earliest Moon position (1Vir56) at Midheaven (MC; 1Vir21), the Goal Point of the chart, and with 1965 Mercury (and the Total eclipse) there along with LBJ's natal Sun and Mars (2--4 Virgo). An additional factor in play now is the zealotry, one-sided views, and conflicts of the waxing Jupiter-Uranus opposition which times and reveals the ideological divide concerning America's social safety net programs established during FDR's and LBJ's presidencies as Jupiterian expansion and Uranian disruption tussle for control of the money via massive tax breaks for the wealthy if the Republicans and their donors have their way.

June 8, 2017 Comey testifies under Trump's natal Sun Gem-Moon Sag

Sun Gem-Moon Sag: It's All About Mr. Trump

It's June 8, 2017 and former FBI Director James Comey is testifying today to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Trump-Russia topics under today's Sun-Moon blend (Gemini-Sagittarius) which happens to be the natal blend of Donald J. Trump.

This is an Air-Fire combo of energies of one who is inquisitive, has a vivid imagination, and is usually able to wiggle out of tight squeezes. However, a lack of mental discipline can lead to recklessness, a word often used to describe Mr. Trump's actions especially in the realm of his tweets which are by many people considered to be official statements of the president of the United States of America. Additionally, this blend's tendency toward indiscretion supports his indiscreet Mercury-Neptune square which inspires many misconceptions for his sneaky mind (Oken) to imagine and embroider upon.

Also of interest is tomorrow, June 9, 2017, the day of Jupiter's Direct Station @13Libra (which echoes Mr. Trump's natal Jupiter Direct Station @17Lib27 in 2nd house and sandwiching along with his Neptune his natal Chiron) which will contain a Full Moon @18Sag53 (again, an echo of Trump's natal Sun-Moon opposition conjunct his Nodal Gem-Sag axis) which perfects at 9:09:32 am edt. Transit Neptune squares this Full Moon and suggests illusions, deceptions, and discontent.

A Jupiter Note: Mr. Trump's last of three conjunctions in his current Jupiter Return period occurs August 4, 2017.

Now as you know, Full Moons time stages of awareness, culmination, and/or fulfillment on some level or levels, relate to relationships, and, in this case, 'bookends' the prior New Moon (May 25th @4Gem46). Endings of relationships are possible as is the uncovering of secrets under the rays of a Full Moon. Plus, prominent Full Moons can act much as eclipses (Full = Lunar Eclipses, New Moons = Solar Eclipses) - as 'wild cards' of the Universe - by revealing hidden things and disrupting earthly events. It remains to be seen the legal or political fall-out from Mr. Comey's testimony today and the last time I checked Mr. Trump Twitter feed (it's now 12:30 pm edt) he had not begun to 'live tweet' private citizen James Comey's testimony in an attempt to counteract it. Not yet.

But suffice to say, with or in spite of astrological portents, there will be fall-out.

DC Horoscope: US Mars Return May 22, 2017

Perpetual War Proceeds: please enlarge the horoscope to read my scribbled astro-notes concerning America's upcoming Mars Return which perfects on May 22, 2017 at 2:42:42 pm edt Washington DC (return chart based on natal chart: USA July 4, 1776 5:09 pm LMT Philadelphia, Pennsylvania).

As you see, warrior Mars conjoins Midheaven (MC) for all the world to see (Mr. Trump and his first overseas tour?) while transit Saturn @26Sag10 Rx conjoins the IC and has been opposing US natal Mars off and on since December 2016 and will do so again including a Direct Station @21Sag11 a few days after The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 @29Leo (hitting Mr. Trump's natal Ascendant and royal Regulus and singeing his natal Mars @26Leo), a rare 'cosmic blink' event which will be visible from West Coast to East--and which can be seen here conjunct the 12th cusp of this return chart--the 12th house of karma, self-undoing, politics, large institutions, and backroom deals:

As for aspects to and from Mars (the star of this show) its only applying aspect is the opposition to Saturn, however, the Moon (the public) sextiles activist Mars (2A14) which denotes opportunities for self-reliance, discipline, but also compassion to be shown. Holding back or repressing feelings in order to conform is a possibility as is having the wisdom to avoid conflict. Others are accommodated until the sense of fairness is violated or some other provocation triggers a firm stand and battle is entered.

A very prominent aspect is Tr Saturn opposing natal Mars: resistance, frustration, gridlock. Chart-ruler Mercury @6Tau51 in 8th house of Corporatism makes no applying aspects (or any other) and is out-of-bounds; radical Utopian Uranus continues its lurch through Mars-ruled Aries where it is joined by Venus, the lady traveling with asteroids Isis and Toro, a power asteroid that hints at nuclear power. Bucket handle Jupiter @13Lib41 Rx rises in 1st house offering some measure of protection (as ruler of 4th house, Saturn, and 7th house) while conjoining US natal Saturn (a partial lifting of burdens).

Saturn and Uranus trine one another and, with North Node, form a Fire 'Grand Trine' of protection and connection which suggests those with many plans for the future but who may also demand loyalty from others. (If this sounds like Mr. Trump, it's meant to.) The aspect is a natal echo from America's 1776 Saturn-Uranus trine (then in Air: Libra-Gemini) which is/was compatible with future generations of Americans who can/could easily identify with our original form of authority. Our government's current perpetual war stance? Not so much.

Now a few quick words about Venus @16Ari33 since she's traveling with asteroids Isis and with Toro, a power asteroid that hints of nuclear power potential--in the 7th house of Partners and Open Enemies. Those are the few quick words.

Astro-Notes: The James Comey Firing, Donald Trump, and the Natal Chart of Benito Mussolini

A quick peek at the natal horoscope of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini (in power from 1922 to 1945) shows his Ascendant-Descendant axis to be 20Scor31/20Tau31. On May 10, 2017 a Full Moon occurred @20Sco24 on the very day that Mr. Trump fired FBI Director James Comey (with the Full Moon phase signifying a culmination of some kind). Since yesterday, calls for an independent prosecutor into the Republican administration's Trump-Russia connections have grown louder as would be expected due to the nontraditional use of such a strong-arm tactic. And since Full Moons (and New Moons) can affect, disrupt, and/or change direction of events in similar fashion to 'wild card' Uranian eclipses, it seems significant that a Full Moon @21Scorpio should trigger the natal chart of El Duce especially since some people have called Mr. Trump a dictator wannabe.

And here's a mildly nauseous stunner involving Mussolini's natal Mars @13Gem08: Mars is the aggressive planet of war and contention, and the combative planet that rises in Donald Trump's natal chart (along with royal Regulus, keywords: success if revenge is avoided--otherwise all that's been gained will be lost--Brady). Mussolini's Mars Return occurred in tandem with the Full Moon of May 10, 2017 at 4:05 pm in his home town in Italy but perfected at 10:05 am edt May 10th when the Return chart is set for Washington DC--and would indicate a new cycle of activity if he were alive. As it is, perhaps he only sat up in his grave and applauded for Donald Trump.

Benito Mussolini July 29, 1883 2:00 pm Predappio, Italy; a Fire-Air Sun Leo-Moon Gemini blend with the conscious-unconscious energies of an ambitious opportunist who tends to rationalize and who can slip into cynicism and/or despondency like a rebellious child. Does this sound similar to Mr. Trump's personality? Well, his Sun Gemini-Moon Sagittarius blend is very similar--it's an Air-Fire combo!

James Comey December 14, 1960 "noon" Yonkers, New York; natal Sun 22Sag+ conjunct the separative Moon-SN conjunction of Donald Trump with its bad timing vibe (suspicion centers on the timing of Trump's Comey firing--why now? see link, below). Mr. Comey's natal Moon is possibly in Scorpio or late Libra (probably in Scorpio, sign of spies, surveillance, detection, and crime). Transit Pluto in Capricorn has been trodding upon Mr. Comey's natal Saturn (karmic planet of authority, control, accountability, directorship) indicating a period when past actions affect the present, structures and traditions may be altered or permanently transformed, and abuse of authority is engaged in--or encountered. Also the current Solar Eclipse of February 26, 2017 @8Pis12 conjoins Comey's natal South Node so that a break or some sort of separation in relationship has a rather loud karmic ring if those relationships are not strong enough to stand the strain. They were not.

Actually, we've already discussed karmic transits to Mr. Comey's natal planets and to the FBI natal chart way back on November 1, 2016 which is around the time of the November 8, 2016 Election when Mr. Trump apparently began to consider the firing of FBI Director James Comey. Why, it's almost as if Trump knew the fix was in.

May 4, 2017 saw the passage through the House of Trumpcare, the GOP health insurance plan that redistributes wealth to the wealthy while deleting medical insurance from thousands of Americans. As they voted, one of today's double-Earth Sun Taurus-Moon Virgo 'Images for Integration' (combining conscious + unconscious energies) seems completely appropriate to what GOP politicians perpetrated today upon the American people on behalf of Congress' corporate and Wall Street donors--and probably to boost congress members' own stock portfolios (which should be investigated). You've probably noted before his exact conjunction of Neptune and Ascendant @00Sag which makes Jupiter (at 6Scorpio = "A Gold Rush") his chart-ruler with the moneybags planet's only aspect an inconjunct to Mars, strong in its own sign of Aries--and conjoining healing Chiron (0A01) at 3Aries (4th house). Mars-Chiron gives the Speaker an heroic quest or mission to aim for and it's filled with Martian fervor. For besides Trumpcare, we must not forget Ryan's previous budget plan of draconian measures, another GOP scheme of heisting proportions!

How interesting since, as Speaker of the House, Mr. Ryan is third in the line of succession for the presidency should Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence somehow fall by the wayside.

More Astro-Notes: Sean Hannity Part 2

In Part One of my astro-peek at FOX News anchor Sean Hannity we discussed a few basic chart factors and I linked you to a view of his natal horoscope. Today let's consider his Sun-Moon blend and the personality these conscious-unconscious energies describe along with his Prenatal Solar Eclipse Saros Series and its themes.

Born December 30, 1961 (see Part One for more details), Mr. Hannity's natal Sun is in Saturn-ruled Capricorn and his Moon is in Venus-ruled Libra, an Earth-Air blend which provides the capacity to be down-to-earth yet up-in-the-air simultaneously as rationality and abstract ideas combine. Here is a practical idealist who plans, then acts. However, losing touch with emotions is a caution for this liberal + conservative personality.

A fighter for causes, Mr. Hannity is courageous, socially aware, clear headed, opportunistic, and 'cunningly capable'. Now that Roger Ailes, Megyn Kelly, and Bill O'Reilly have left FOX News, news reader Sean Hannity broadcasts his political views from atop the highest perch in conservative cable news. Some even say that Mr. Hannity is experiencing a renaissance and that the network now 'belongs' to him.

If you wish a view of Sean Hannity's natal chart you'll find his Sun @8Cap43, Moon @14Lib01, and Ascendant (Self; Physical Body) @8Pis53. As you see, his natal ASC and life are now under positive influences of the current 19 South Solar Eclipse of February 26, 2017 with its themes of: lucky breaks or wins, joyful events, pleasant surprises, and positive changes (Brady). Of course, these benefits are primarily for Mr. Hannity, not for the other guys and gal.

Born on December 30, 1961 at 10:30 am est (Rodden Rating: A from memory) in Franklin Square, New York, Sean Patrick Hannity is of the Roman Catholic persuasion. His Sun squares natal Moon (Cap to Libra) and his Sun-Moon midpoint falls at 26Sco21. Mercury, planet of journalists and reporters, is in Saturn-ruled Capricorn as are Venus, Mars, and Saturn. In fact, Saturn (ruler of his Sun) is at a critical degree: 29Cap31 (in 11th house with communicator Mercury @17Cap00) with '30Cap' = "A Secret Business Conference" (Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Jones).

Notable is his natal Mercury with transit Pluto now in the Mercurial neighborhood and marking a period of increased power and control while his concerns over what's relevant and most efficient intensify. Secrets may be part of his daily environment as well.

As for the shape of Hannity's chart, we find a BOWL shape with radical Uranus leading the rest of his planets from the 6th house. At 00Virgo, natal Uranus also conjoins royal Regulus, the king or the kingmaker star (key phrase: success if revenge is avoided). Does any of this sound familiar? If so, it's most likely because Mr. Trump's natal Uranus in Gemini also leads a BOWL shape but from his 10th house, and Regulus conjoins Trump's natal Ascendant in late Leo (with warrior Mars @26Leo and rising). There are other correspondences between their planets as well, but it's now after midnight so this must be a two-part effort. I should never type after midnight!

Seeding at NATO Summit May 2017: Trump to Attend

Earlier during his White House tenure it was announced that Donald Trump would attend this year's NATO summit on May 25th in Brussels, Belgium. The summit is scheduled for May 24th to 25th so let's check the cosmic atmosphere of the 2017 summit via Moon and Sun, shall we?

The method I prefer when there are multiple dates to consider is to begin at 12:00 am Local Time for the date and location, then use an end time of 11:59 pm on the final date and location. This covers any possible after-event schmoozing by various attendees or perhaps late-night behind the scenes deals. In the case of NATO summit 2017, the Sun is in Mercury-ruled Gemini, good for communications, agreements, negotiations, compacts, news, and other messages, and the Moon is in Taurus on May 24th, then shifts into Gemini, forming a New Moon @4Gem46 as she floats. This denotes a time when seeds are planted for future harvest. In Brussels, the New Moon perfects at 9:44:24 pm CEDT and the political duo of Mercury and Mars will also be in Gemini.

So we know that this year's summit will be held during a Dark of the Moon period (3 days prior to a New Moon) when shady dealings are done and are (they hope) kept hidden in shadows from public view, at least until plans can be implemented. Of course, in Mundane Astrology, the Moon signifies publicity, public relations, and the public itself. However, a Gemini Moon tends to be chatty and suggests ups and downs (moodiness that may include despondency) so we'll see how close to the vest the meetings' details are kept or leaked. After all, radical magazines must have sensational front pages! No word on whether attendees should bring along their consciences over the results of actions taken. As with all 'global elite' meetings, my feeling is that they are advised to leave consciences at home, if they possess any.

And since Mr. Trump is a Sun Gemini with North Node and Uranus in Gemini he should feel quite within his Mercurial element with the Gemini New Moon and the darkened secretiveness of the proceedings particularly now that he has repudiated his own previous critique of NATO as being "obsolete" and not paying their fair share (his Stationary Direct Jupiter in Libra in natal 2nd house of Money and Values talking: "that's not fair!"). And perhaps you remember that Mr. Trump announced his presidential campaign in June 2015 under the influence of a Mercurial Gemini New Moon!

Cosmic Atmosphere for May 24 and 25, 2017

May 24, 2017 Sun Gemini-Moon Taurus, an Air-Earth blend of the rational, objective, and practical idealist. This combination of energies suggests an entrepreneurial spirit (such as that possessed by you-know-who) and a desire to pursue bright ideas. Turning ideas into reality is its specialty and factual evaluations are a must. However, a certain midpoint picture in effect during the summit gives pause on that score: Mercury-Pluto = Neptune (which now veils US Progressed Sun in Pisces = POTUS) which hints at such potentials as inefficient research, falsified data or documents, the use of deception, and/or the concealment of information in that 'knowledge is power' kind of way.

Mercurial to its toes and often charming, emotions are not its strong suit nor is looking under surfaces where darker motives reside. Cosmic Flavors and Images of April 15 and 16, 2017

These days at Stars Over Washington my schedule is limited so I prefer writing about wider issues and broader cosmic influences such as Solstices, major planetary conjunctions, inaugurations, and other political and astrological concerns and events. But considering recent world events involving the US (unpredictable leader drops the MOAB on Afghanistan tunnels), North Korea (unpredictable leader threatens another missile launch), China, Russia, plus, other concerns, here's a bit about the cosmic flavors of this weekend, Saturday April 15th through Sunday the 16th.

This weekend the (Tropical) Sun is in Mars-ruled Aries and the Moon floats through Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius into Saturn-ruled Capricorn, sign of government, law, and business--plus, Luna triggers the Cardinal World Point of 00Cap00 as she floats so a consideration of the weekend's Sun-Moon blend just could be illuminating, don't you think?

In Today's News: The US Military Defends Its Use of 'The Mother of All Bombs" (MOAB).

April 15 (and April 14, today): Sun Aries-Moon Sagittarius is a double Fire blend of volatility, brash aggression, passion, and 'grandiose philosophizing' with a self-centered mentality that is little concerned with the feelings of others.
