Midterms 2022? Meet Two Progressed Horoscopes

Today my Friday post shows a dual image of President Biden's Secondary Progressed Horoscope (upper right; 'SP') and Trump's ('SP') Horoscope (lower left) with both charts set for natal locations (Scranton PA and Queens NY) on November 8, 2022. Emphasized are the planetary factors that stand out to yours truly but you will undoubtedly discover other significant factors for yourself.

Then, if you read my study notes penned upon the image, differences between the two men will surface for your consideration such as karmic Saturn, planet of authority, responsibility, maturity, soberness, and accountability in a starring role with reformist Uranus, and with Pluto, planet of power, wealth, and stealth. All three planets play major roles when it comes to leadership style and the exercising of power or its abuse. And of course, transformation is part of the Plutonian picture as well - especially in 2022 with America's first-ever Pluto Return/s ongoing.

Planet Saturn in a Leader's Horoscope and Psyche

President Biden's Saturn remains in Mercury-ruled Gemini when progressed suggesting a measure of adaptable stability, while Trump's Saturn, natally in Moon-ruled Cancer, has progressed into Sun-ruled Leo suggesting rigidity and pomposity. In quicksilver Gemini, Saturn suggests conscientiousness, logical thinking, studiousness, and a tendency to become preoccupied with difficult problems (like presidents must do). However, wall-builder Saturn tends toward neurosis when in emotional, self-protective Cancer, but when progressed into proud Leo, we find Trump's egotism, dislike of formalities, and deep need for power, control, recognition, applause, and importance.

Additionally, we know that restrictive Saturn can add fear and/or paranoia to most any equation, as well as a sense of loss when Saturn's demands for upright behavior and maturity are not met. Obviously, an individual's Saturn Return Horoscope provides information concerning such issues.

Two factors stand out in particular in each SP chart

For Mr. Biden, it's his SP Uranus Stationed Direct and unaspected so there's a strong emphasis on the planet, plus the suggestion that he's independent and thus not overly influenced by external forces, energies, or actors. (His aviator shades and fast cars might suggest a cool independent streak.)

For Mr. Trump, it's his SP Ascendant @1Sco27 which has received the current 6 South Solar Eclipse of October 25, 2022 conjunct it with themes of 'forcfully taking control' (B. Brady), which is what he's determined and very desperate to do, no matter the cost.

So beneath the symbolic progressed horoscopes (which provide hints as to how one has evolved during their lives), brief notes concerning both men's Sun-Moon blends (which are temporary until SP Moon enters the next Zodiacal sign) are added via The Harveys; then in closing, potentials contained within their SP midpoint pictures are listed for the sake of comparison via Reinhold Ebertin and Noel Tyl:

President Joe Biden: SP Sun Aquarius-Moon Aries (Air-Fire) = self and society; the brotherhood of man is a reality; sound intellect; frankness; disdain for hypocrisy; talkative; an observer of humanity; pokes fun at absurdities; loves challenges; a social reformer or eccentric ambassador; prefers practical answers that cut through bureaucracies and red tape; can be arrogant, cool, and detached. "Image for Integration: Robin Hood and his merry band of men outwit the evil King John once again."

Donald Trump: SP Sun Virgo-Moon Libra (Earth-Air) = pragmatism; lives in a private world; a gift for words; an eye for detail; organized; consults others but pushes through with own ideas; delights in paradox; lives according to a personal code; yearns for the day when others see things "his way"; fussy insistence on getting things a particular way; can be tactful and approachable; ability to cooperate for a common cause. SP Midpt Pix (11/08/22): any, all, or none may apply

President Biden: stress in the profession (Sun-Neptune = MC); pressure to regroup forces and plan anew; constraint; grave inhibitions (Moon-Pluto = Saturn); desire for pleasant contacts with many people (Jupiter-North Node = Pluto); placing false hopes on associations; dealing with others naively or simplistically (Jup-Nept = North Node).

Donald Trump: desire to rise from difficult circumstances; major separation (Saturn-Pluto = MC); grappling with unusual problems; brooding over one's destiny (Mercury-Saturn = Pluto); having a bad influence upon others; breakdown between people living together (Nept-NN = Pluto); giving stimulating ideas to others (Venus-Uranus = Mercury); chaotic emotional life; easily led by others; a dreamy nature (Venus-Neptune = Moon); arranging associations or unions (Jup-NN = Merc: or an army? jc); contemplating loss; fearing wipe-out; abandonment (Merc-Saturn = Pluto).

NYSE transits: Is the US Economy in or approaching Recession?

A Planetary Spotcheck on the NYSE: 2022 into 2023

Whether we look at the horoscope for the NYSE Buttonwood Handshake Agreement of May 17, 1792 NYC that first formed the 'Wall Street Casino', or the reorganization chart of May 11, 1869 (for timing I use the New Moon of that day @20Tau57 at 11:11:27 am LMT NYC), we find several difficult planetary transits of stress and strain in process as the bond yield market inverts which forecasts recession for the US economy, or, alerts us to the fact that the US economy is already in recession. Can Astrology, via a novice astrologer, show such a problem of market instability?

Perhaps, because certain planetary contacts to the 1792 and 1869 charts, shown above, indicate that in general, upheaval is in our financial cards. But since my theory is that no reader makes it to the end of a very long post, I'll simply mention a major transit affecting each horoscope - and both contacts occur three times due to retrogradation which stretches out the effects and conditions:

NYSE May 17, 1792 7:52 am LMT NYC shows wealth-hoarding Pluto @23AQ31, direct and in the corporate Big Business 8th house. However, 1792 Pluto squares 11th house Sun and Mercury Rx in money sign Taurus, therefore, transit Saturn squares them, too, which adds to the difficulties. Yet financier planet Jupiter of 1792 (22Lib57, 4th house) trines 1792 Pluto (big wheeler-dealers), so transit Saturn beneficially trines 1792 Jupiter so that a measure of mitigation of difficulties is provided during the earth-shaking, old order vs new order influences of Saturn conjunct 1792 Pluto exact on: 1. April 19, 2022; 2. July 22, 2022; 3. January 11, 2023. Power and control issues are also part of the Saturn-Pluto picture.

NYSE Reorganization May 11, 1869 NYC New Moon @20Tau57 in 10th house along with money planets Pluto (16Tau36) and Venus (21Tau33); there's a crisis/turning point YOD pattern between Uranus (14Can26 11th house) sextile Pluto at its base representing the reordering or reorganization of Wall Street itself due to crisis conditions, with apex Saturn Rx @15Sag33 in 4th house, planet of karma and of senior, well-established participants. Rounding up old man's Saturn's degree we get a Sabian Symbol significant to our current topic: "Sea Gulls Watching a Ship". And if we read the trio as a midpoint picture we find potentials for egoism, self-will, and exposure to great pressure (R. Ebertin). Great pressure sounds to me like a current condition as well.

Suggesting upheaval, changes, and a very bumpy ride, transit Uranus conjuncts 1869 Pluto three times, exact on: 1. June 6, 2022; 2. November 16, 2022; 3. March 28, 2023. You'll note the November 16th date so near the November 8, 2022 Election Day with Uranus conjunct 1869 Pluto. Perhaps we can agree that violent disruptions interfering with Midterms 2022 voting bodes ill for society on many levels which includes economic issues.

Yet we know that the inverted bond yield indicator isn't written in stone as a recession signpost since its negative effects could be avoided with careful navigation, yet the wealthy elite are apparently lacking confidence in America 'going forward' which may prove even more important since their failure to invest in the US economy can trigger a recession. Why, some of the wealthy villains even supported Trump's violent J6 coup attempt against the US Congress but you can bet that many of them made the bulk of their fortunes off the American people - in our democratic society.

Meanwhile, we should begin to understand more about these issues once banking planet Jupiter Stations and turns Rx on July 28, 2022 @8Ari43. Jupiter will remain inwardly turned (inverted?) until the third week of November 2022 after the 2022 Midterm Elections and the day's Taurus Lunar Eclipse conjunct disruptive Uranus, planet of radical politics and zealots which creates a major problem of instability for financial markets and for Main Street shoppers who stay home out of fear, and who may stay home from the November polls, choosing to Vote By Mail.

So as you see, these major transits to the NYSE charts are already in progress since April and June 2022 which possibly denotes that a recession is already in progress (although other more beneficial transits into 2023 may bring economic relief). But however Wall Street decides to react to these cosmic influences, we may as well expect difficulties through the bond yield market on into 2023 with little if any benefits from retrograde Jupiter's funds or from the Great Benefic's protective function.

Actually, my suspicion is that there are potentials in store for aid delayed and/or blocked efforts to show up on our societal menu, most likely engineered and promoted by sorehead politicians of a regressive persuasion working hard to sabotage our country on behalf of their foreign and domestic handlers and financiers. My feeling is that voting for malevolent saboteurs in the 2022 Midterms will go ahead and sink that Ship (of State), the one the seagulls are watching very intently for signs of faltering.

Therefore, realistically speaking - and as previously noted - these major 2022-2023 transits for a US economy led by Wall Street gentry may be cosmic announcements of a very bumpy ride.

But hey! How about fighting back the toffs? For there's one event full of hope (one of Jupiter's favorite functions!) which was held on June 18, 2022 under the restless influences of the first Uranus-to-Pluto transit to the 1869 chart. As you know, the Uranus-Pluto pair is always active when social protests rise up under great pressure, as we saw with Reverend William Barber's Mass Poor People's and Low-Wage Workers' Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the Polls.

DC Horoscope: Pluto Stations Oct 8, 2022

Here's a quick posting of a DC Horoscope showing Pluto's Station @26Cap06 the moment that wealthy Mr. Subversive, the puppet master, pauses (as viewed from Earth) and begins moving forward. Zodiacally, transit Pluto has been creeping through old territory since turning retrograde in late April 2022 @28Cap35; as you see, many study notes are penned upon the chart including Pluto's rounded-up Sabian Symbol spotlighted by his Station: "A Mountain Pilgrimage" with its negative expressions of "superficial allegiances" and "false virtue."

Then as you see in Washington DC, Pluto Stations in 11th house, a position suggesting 'powerful political groups and organizations' but can also hint at the loss of a group member; also note that star of misfortune, Scheat, rises with two midpoints: fantasy-prone Moon-Neptune of mass delusion, and the grand-spirit, speculative, bubbly pair of Jupiter-Neptune, a duo that often can include religious ideals (fake or genuine). Then as you see, the Sabian Symbol in The Goal position (MC) of the chart is, "The Pope Blessing the Faithful". And note that these planets form a Seesaw pattern of pros vs cons (progressives vs conservatives) suggesting that tiresome political quarrels continue while the needs of the populace languish:

Worth a mention is the Mars-Pluto inconjunction indicating potentials for obsessive agendas and scorched earth competition, aka, cutthroat competition (Pluto, the assassin?). This inconjunction (quincunx) echoes America's 1776 Mars-Pluto relationship from Gemini to Capricorn along with a second cosmic echo: a foggy Mars-Neptune square of misdirected energy and misguided actions (see bottom right corner). Now not everyone will suffer under or use such difficult energies against humanity but we're talking Politics here so you know the ones who probably will.

Then for society in general, there's another highly significant factor - that rising Neptune Rx @23Pis26 continues to oppose US 1776 Neptune in the more fact-based sign of Virgo which describes major ideological clashes, some of a generational nature, plus, persecutions in the realms of civil and human rights, rascism included. And as you know, astrological Pluto (the dragon and The Pope) never minds benefiting from a heaping load of exploitation, you know. Money laundering, theft, and protecting his hidden wealth are his jams.

That this Neptunian transit of opposition proceeds in 2022, the year of America's first-ever Pluto Return, only adds to the complexities of conditions now operative in US society and makes clear that larger forces erode many of our institutions, systems, laws and traditions. Karmic in nature, these planetary transits show that the time has come for America to alter what needs altering but most of us hope for improvements, not dissolution! And we could have made such alterations without interference from bad faith meddlers, but this wasn't their plan.

And so these active Neptunian and Plutonian energies describe what I continue to assert are being purposefully taken advantage of by foreign and domestic saboteurs, working as agents of a global criminal network of mobsters and thugs, many of whom are, or are aligned with, international financiers and corporatists (a lucrative business arrangement for conscience-free opportunists, no doubt). In fact, the Neptune-Pluto duo of organized crime and misogynist paternalism is having its underhanded way just now, and America has congressional Democrats to deal with this global authoritarian movement raising its brutal head once again from the 1930s. To me this means that criticizing Democrats, well meaning as it may be, tends to undermine their efforts on our behalf and gives energy and support to America's enemies - my personal view but naturally you have yours.

October 9th a Full Moon @16Ari33, then a Solar Eclipse

Additionally, a major cosmic event arrives a mere 17 days after Pluto's Station, the October 25, 2022 Solar Eclipse @2Scorpio in the difficult 6 South Saros Series which I've labeled, A House Raising mainly due to its political implications, plus, it is the Prenatal Eclipse of Midterms 2022 (the very day of a Taurus Lunar Eclipse conjunct radical Uranus, planet of chaos). And to me it seems that the 6 South Solar Eclipse occurs close enough to Pluto's Station to have some measure of disruptive 'wild card' influence in relation to the horoscope you see, above (in 7th house).

So unless you, dear reader, are an out-and-out fascist with neo-nazi leanings (or vice versa), remember to Vote Blue in 2022 - and in 2024.

Because our democracy, our freedoms, and our lives literally depend upon it.

Zero-Degree Points of Manifestation Time Global Events and Important Energy Shifts within the Collective

Back in November 2021 here on SO'W, we discussed the Spring Equinox 2022 Horoscope, aka, Aries Ingress 2022, a timed chart of a regularly occurring cosmic event that's always 'good for' an entire year. Transits to the horoscope and its planets are quite instructive for those who wish to follow along as the year proceeds. And due to Putin's war against neighboring Ukraine begun on February 24, 2022, we even considered a Spring Equinox 2022 Horoscope cast for Moscow, Russia with its sprinkle of 29-degree critical-crisis angles and planets, impulsively striving to enter their next signs, hoping for new conditions.

Here Again is the DC Horoscope of Spring Equinox 2022 (details linked, above):

Next on the cosmic calendar is Summer Solstice 2022 and I've yet to publish its DC Horoscope (mea culpa! too much going on) - wait! yes it's published!. Well, here's a post concerning 2022's June and July shifts of direction of societal planets Jupiter and Saturn. Note that Jupiter will remain retrograde @29Pisces (conjunct Scheat) until after the November 8th Midterm Elections. And for context, see the US Solar Return 2022 Horoscope set for Washington DC, suggesting that people and actions continue to be obscured by 'veils and fantasies'.

Then marching in the 2022 Cardinal World Point parade comes Autumn Equinox 2022 with an unaspected (disengaged, alienated?) Moon. Or perhaps this lunar condition reveals a public left out of consideration as the ruling elite class 'makes arrangements' to suit themselves. You know - like justice Alito determined that what a large majority of We The People want concerning Roe v Wade makes no never mind to radical reactionary justices on the SCOTUS bench such as his nibs, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and handmaiden Barrett. Perhaps we can agree, dear reader, that morality cannot be legislated externally, and that bossily forcing one's religious views upon others leads to disaster. Yet We The People can do something about this for significantly, the 2022 Midterm Elections take place during the Autumn season. In fact, Blue Tsunami Waves of pro-democracy voters in November 2022 and again in November 2024 are required for America's karmic progress, no matter who the candidates turn out to be!

And of course, winding up Year 2022 is Winter Solstice 2022 with its DC location showing Cardinal World Points prominently on the chart's Ascendant-Descendant angles of Self and Others. This solar shift to 00Capricorn00:00 will take us from December 2022 and the holiday season into the early weeks of Year 2023 and will influence events until Spring Equinox 2023 takes over, and the seasonal cycle identified by the 'Sun to Cardinal Points of Manifestation' begins all over again.

Meanwhile, on an astrological level, the Summer, Autumn, and Winter Cardinal Point horoscopes (Sun to 00Cancer, 00Libra, 00Capricorn, all critical-crisis degrees as is the Aries Point) may be used as transit charts in comparison with the Spring Equinox Horoscope for timing and other purposes because, as noted, the March 2022 Aries Ingress Horoscope is 'good for' the entire year so therefore is the most prominent annual horoscope.

Must America's Fight for Democracy Last Into 2028?

Our fight continues!

And in the November 24, 2021 broadcast of the Thom Hartmann Show Thom expressed what to me, based in part on my studies of eclipse cycles, an interesting idea about something I'd never considered in exactly this way: that the Nazi influence in the United States from 1933 to 1937 was huge. And although I've published multiple SO'W posts concerning conditions and events of those years, both earthly and cosmic, you'll find more of such, below. Notably, previous posts have concerned solar eclipses and their themes which run in the background of society and influence historical events, a well known correlation in the As Above, So Below tradition.

So thanks to Thom's remark about the 'Nazi years' of 1933 to 1937 and how Nazi characters of that era affected the US and how they attempted to overthrow the FDR administration in 1933 (and thus, the US government - as on January 6, 2021), it seems to me that we should look at the themes of the August 31, 1932 6 South Eclipse all the way to the last eclipse of 1937 (and all eclipses in between: 1935 was a very eventful year; ex: Herr Adolf armed Germany in violation of the Versaillais Treaty of 1919) for a look can provide us with hints of similar events and conditions to expect in that 'history rhymes' kind of way as these eclipses repeat in our era.

For me this information falls into the 'forewarned is forearmed' category, and, disagree as you wish, dear reader, there it is. After all, who can deny the negative conditions of current events and faithless actors? Yet as Thom Hartmann always reminds us, Despair is not an option!

Solar Eclipses from February 1933 to December 1937

February 24, 1933 @5Pisces 7 North: 'Deep, long-hidden passions and lust suddenly catch people off-guard' (to this I must add, blood lust because it's a Nazi tactic for grabbing power, and remains an obsession of the predatory destructive spirit that roams the Earth.

December 2, 1937 @10Sagittarius 12 North: 'Opportunities to accept greater responsibilities and make new commitments due to another person's inability to carry on; initial events are difficult but outcomes can be positive'. (Can be. Motive is everything.)

7 North to 12 North (1933 to 1937 and 2023 to 2028)

So the concentrated time frame that Thom mentions begins with the 7 North Eclipse of 1933 @5Pisces, until the 12 North Eclipse of 1937. For us, the 7 North Saros Series recurs on April 20, 2023 @30Aries (Herr Adolf's 134th birthday) and January 26, 2028 (12N Eclipse @6Aquarius conjunct America's South Node of July 4, 1776, a separative, and possibly neurotic indication of past behavior which no longer suffices). Although not within Thom's time frame, there is also a 12 South Solar Eclipse in 2028 @'30Cancer' ("A Daughter of the American Revolution"!) on July 22, 2028 with themes of 'successful outcomes to longterm worries or illness' (an end to Covid? Perhaps, yet 12 South is the Prenatal Eclipse Saros Series of July 4, 1776 then @00Pis33 - and how synchronous that its Sabian Symbol in 2028 relates to the Revolution, and its themes affected the initial signing of the Declaration of Independence).

2022: Eclipses and a Midterm Elections Taurus Lunar Eclipse

Yet the two most obvious eclipses that form major signposts on the dystopian road to fascist-nazi authoritarianism in the US (and across the globe) must be the Nazi Rise to Power Eclipse repeating on October 25, 2022 @2Scorpio - problematically the Prenatal Eclipse ('PE') of Midterms 2022 (held the same day as a Lunar Eclipse in Taurus conjunct radical Uranus, planet of chaos, zealotry, and anarchy), and the Nazi Rise to Power Eclipse.

Yet special mention should be added about one solar eclipse in particular which occurred in 1937 - not the final one in 1937 but the Solar Eclipse of June 8, 1937 @18Gemini in the challenging 11 South Saros Series with its disturbing themes of 'ideas and methods fail, new systems are required in order to deal with events; any blocks could be tragically and violently removed'. And when does an 11 South eclipse repeat? On August 2, 2027 @10Leo - conjunct the orange mussolini's 12th house Pluto which is apex planet of his 'death axis' Mars-Saturn midpoint (R. Ebertin) with Plutonian potentials for 'murder' and 'piled up corpses'. Maybe he'll be the block that's removed!

Yet it seems in 2022 that Herrs Adolf and Tr*mp and their despotic ilk are like wads of nasty gum on the world's shoe that never wants to let go.

Then in closing, it would be remiss not to mention a previous post and horoscope concerning this authoritarian topic: The Big Brazen N*zi Rally of 1939 NYC. And which Eclipse Saros series did the rally occur within? The sinister 13 South with thematic potentials for constitutional crisis and/or striving for group endeavors, positively or negatively (B. Horoscope: Washington DC's Progressed Full Moon

If you've never taken a look at the Horoscope of Washington DC (May 3, 1802; Sun 12Taurus, Moon Taurus or Gemini) why not check it out? In this post, I'm using Secondary Progressions ('SP') to find the position and date of the current/upcoming Progressed Full Moon/s (the city's next Lunar Phase) of DC (my former city of residence) and have used two timings for the 1802 chart to do the progressing: 12:00 am LMT (ASC 19Cap43) and 12:00 pm LMT (ASC 20Leo37) since no exact hour of DC's founding is known - although 'noon' may be closest to an actual occurring event on that day, if tradition counts. The founding date of May 3, 1802 is the earliest incorporation date that the District became a city although you may prefer other timings, including the version with Aries Point rising. Your choice!

2021/2022: Secondary Progressions of Washington, the District of Columbia

If an SP Full Moon of person or entity represents as far as can be safely extended into the world, then details concerning DC's SP Full Moon should be informative. These are:

Washington DC May 3, 1802 12:00 am LMT: SP Full Moon @16Gem35 June 8, 2022.

So as you know, Secondary Progressions use the day-for-a-year method and with these two charts, the Zodiacal position of the progressed ('evolved') Full Moon is the same - 16Gem35 - only the dates differ. Obviously, the 12:00 pm dated Full Moon has already passed on December 8th, in fact, but the 12:00 am date arrives in the midst of a Midterm Elections year so the political campaigns and primaries are sure to grab most of the air in any room and naturally, news rooms will be perking on full boil, commerce and ad sales in full swing. Tons of junk mail and emails are on the way, folks!

Plus, it remains to be seen, but it looks now as if President Biden's Build Back Better legislation will be taken up in early 2022 (if not before). If so, the city's SP Full Moon of June 8, 2022 may be the more operative horoscope. Transit note: a Full Moon perfects on or about June 12, 2022 @23Sag25 which spotlights the city's SP Chiron (23Sag04) and echoes back to the problematic 4 South Solar Eclipse of December 14, 2020, the day of the Electoral College Vote for Joe Biden; themes include 'frustrated emotions over money and/or relationships', 'relationship events beyond personal control', a 'sense of fatedness' to events, and a caution to 'avoid rash action until issues settle down' (paraphrasing B. Brady). Yet as we saw on January 6, 2021, some folks are not heeding any caution at all because many of them were, and are, under a Moon-Neptune influence.

As For Secondary Progressions

Now you know that fixed stars are never used with progressions (stars' positions are 'fixed', progressions are symbolic) so let's skip to considerations of the rounded-up Sabian Symbols ('word pictures') for both degrees of the SP Sun and SP Moon, then add a few notes concerning the Fire-Air, 'Mercury-Jupiter' Sun Sagittarius-Moon Gemini combination of conscious and unconscious energies (solar = leaders; lunar = the people). As you see, the charts' SP midpoint pictures ('pix') are listed and highlighted in blue with one midpoint picture rising along with SP Saturn in the upper right chart progressed to June 8, 2022.

Plus, the lower left chart (SP to December 8, 2021) has notes squished upon it but the upper right image (SP to June 8, 2022) has been left relatively unruffled by my messy scribblings. Additionally, one thing you'll notice right away is that, except for the obvious differences such as house cusps, most of the factors listed are the same in both charts unless otherwise notated. Meanwhile, quick mention should be made of the Moon-Venus inconjunct which suggests potentials for vanity, superficiality, and a need to be reassured by popularity polls. The aspect also denotes an attraction to fickle partners which invites betrayal! However, betrayal can flow in both directions. (A. Epstein).

So what we seek here is an updated (from 1802!) cosmic picture of an 'evolved' capital city of Washington DC (representative of America) but what's missing in this post are the planetary transits for the date and hour of each chart. Hopefully you may be interested enough in this topic to view the transits for yourself and add them to the SP charts:

SP Full Moon "17Gemini": "The Head of Health Dissolved Into the Head of Mentality" = Keyword DEVELOPMENT; positive expression: the effective orientation of selfhood in an overall vision; negative (unconscious/shadow) expression: a defeat of accomplishment by a senseless clinging to the illusions of youth.

SP Full Moon Sun "17Sag": "An Easter Sunrise Service" = Keyword REBIRTH; positive expression: an unusual realization of immortal resources and an ability to employ them wisely; negative expression: overconcern with superficial form and ceremony (The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Dr. Marc Edmund Jones #ad).

SP Sun Sagittarius-Moon Gemini is a 'live-wire' Fire-Air blend full of zeal and ideas and is ruled by the Mercury-Jupiter duo of planetary energies. A motto could be 'knowledge vs wisdom' with connections easily seen between apparently unrelated things. Logic is preferred over emotions and a wide range of interests are followed. Mischievously wicked, this blend suggests intellectual curiosity, communication skill, and an inventive, self-absorbed demeanor. Restless, adventurous, and sociable, the Sun Sag-Moon Gemini archetype appreciates irony and is excellent at playing devil's advocate, preferring to live by its wits which means that the city's deeper potentials are unfulfilled at this point, not for a while anyway. So! As things stand, the most basic archetype for the current condition of Washington DC is 'eternal youth' which resonates closely with the above negative expressions of the current SP Full Moon and Sun combo via youthful illusions that defeat accomplishments, superficial concerns, and empty ceremonies which are primarily staged to gaslight and distract the American public from the unsavory actions of a corrupt political class, their pocket-lining enablers, and the global and domestic criminal networks infesting Washington DC and calling a mobster tune.

To close: enlightening may be the 'Image for Integration' supplied by the Harveys in their book, Sun Sign-Moon Sign, to describe in a few words the city's SP Sun Sag-Moon Gemini blend:

"Robin Hood, as a young boy, plays truant from school to go to this archery lesson, but ends up teaching card tricks to his master."

So much meaning is embedded within this Image! My closing thoughts are that 'archery' reminds me of America's traditional symbol of the Eagle with 13 arrows in its talons (representing the original 13 Colonies, if memory serves) along with the association of the Robin Hood mythology of robbing the rich to give to the poor - and a REBIRTH on this level, if accomplished, would bring some measure of balance to our perilously unequal society and this is precisely what I believe the Biden-Democratic agenda intends to do if Republican regressives would stand down, stop idolizing the past, and join in with America's future endeavors and much needed improvements awaiting implementation.

In America: Progressive Populism or Fascist Populism?

What's It To Be, America?

In his recent op-ed, Thom Hartmann provides a comprehensive overview of the current political and societal stand-off between "progressive populism" and "fascist populism" in a way that no one else can. The first is inspired by such notables as Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Bernie Sanders, and yes! Joe Biden. The other is a Charles Lindburgh-Hitler-Trump glob of a mass movement to turn America into a dystopian authoritarian nightmare that voters who fall for its lies will wish with all their hearts they hadn't.

It's as if the power bestowed simultaneouly upon FDR in America and Hitler in Germany back in 1932/33 is being restaged all over again and the power bestowed upon the two men was of a completely different quality, as you know, and results were radically different.

Yet through the decades since the late 1970s and ramped up in the 1980s decade under Reagan and 'Reaganomics', we Americans have had Neo-Liberalism foisted upon us resulting in the bad social and economic conditions we now face. In fact, it's the Neo-Liberalist system now dying under the ongoing US Pluto Return. It's a complex situation that most Americans are too busy with their problems to give much attention to. However, Thom Hartmann's op-ed linked above clears up many such issues if only folks will read!

As Above, So Below

Now astrologically, we know that the Solar Eclipses of 1932 and 1933 which heralded the 'Nazis Rise to Power' and 'Fascism Rising' will repeat in 2022 and 2023 so the themes and influences of the two eclipses will 'run in the background' of society once again along with other cosmic and earthly factors, some aiding, some mitigating. And perhaps you've read my recent grump over a certain cosmic synchronicity that worries yours truly November 2022 Eclipse Hits Austrian Psychopath's Chart on election day, a circumstance which may do no more than add insult to injury politically, may with Uranian cussedness amount to nothing, or, may time a distressing set of conditions that we already pretty much know to expect for it's marked on the fascist power-grabbing calendar of figurehead Tr*mp's ongoing coup d'etat.

So even though down-ballot elections such as in Vriginia yesterday may or may not be telling for 2022 and 2024 outcomes, what we do know for certain is that Midterms 2022 is the first major test of whether Americans will choose Progressive Populism over Fascist Populism in spite of fascists rigging the ballots and other cheating tactics. And that, with a Taurus Lunar Eclipse conjunct progressive planet Uranus on November 8, 2022 which may either aid or hinder the progressive cause. Still, motivation is everything so the outcome in 2022 can be swayed by a massive turnout of progressive voters overwhelming draconian politicians of the fascist persuasion as Americans (with the support of our better angels!) choose Progressive Populism.

Thursday September 30, 2021: As transit Pluto continues its stealthy slog through the last degrees of Capricorn reaching America's 1776 Pluto position (27Cap33) in 2022 - for the first time ever - few folk will lament the planet of power-grasping subversion bidding farewell to the governmental sign ruled by austere Saturn with the 'dictator' vibes (according to Reinhold Ebertin) of Pluto in Capricorn.

Meanwhile, in December 2020 here on Stars Over Washington, we considered what will be a momentous occasion when Pluto Enters Aquarius, the midpoint pictures that form, and powerful Pluto's affects on the December 2020 Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction, the planetary pair which ushered society into Year 2021 and which landed upon US Inaugural Sun.

Now as you know, the pair of Jupiter (expansion) and Saturn (restriction) relates in government to such matters as:

Checks and balances; changes in governmental religious, or social orders; repression based on morality instituted by law or religion; the serious side of law and justice; too many restrictions on the operation of justice; a judicial system at its breaking point; leniency and harshness vie for balance within the overall social and economic systems; and/or pessimism about the ability of the police to control lawbreakers' (Unleashing the Power of the Planets, Michael Munkasey #ad).

Now no one needs venerable Astrology to inform them of these multiple issues society now deals with - to the extent that they're being dealt with at all as the politicians of Washington DC squabble amongst themselves and perform for the cameras in lieu of actually serving the public by solving the problems our country faces. For most of us would agree that there's not one single item on the above list that is not being expressed in America (and elsewhere) these days and it's only the last quarter of 2021!

Once in Aquarius, we may expect Pluto to activate in society 'a strong communal sense; the urge to reform' (positively we hope!), but with the possibility that plans will be iffy due to 'overexaggeration' (R. Ebertin). Add to this the potential that astrological Pluto may on certain levels express positively through its regenerative and transformative functions - in Aquarius, the sign of humanitarianism. The world could use some of that!

So my thought with this post is that perhaps reading the midpoint pictures in the post linked, above, might aid our preparation as the 2022 Midterms and Election 2024 draw near - just to see and consider a few of the potentials we face as a people. Maybe, I don't know. But I do know that it's always better to be forewarned about a coming period of difficulty especially since we have eclipses waiting in the wings from those two simply hideous Solar Eclipse families and coming soon (in 2022 and 2023) for they were active in the 1930s when Herr Adolf grasped power and commandeered Germany into a nightmare of epic proportions. As they say, history rhymes and eclipse cycles track quite closely with historical cycles and events and often disrupt earthly affairs in a similar manner of electrical Uranus, planet of shocks and sudden events.

So I'm guessing that if you're reading SO'W you are already aware of the spirit of destruction moving across the globe and intending to take over the governments of the world. It's a global authoritarian movement, yes, but Americans fought and won against naz*s in the 1940s and as unpopular as the idea may be in 2021 and beyond, the time has come to fight them again in every way possible for the sake of Democracy and for future generations.

So let's close this fussy post with a question that political pundits and others are now so fond of asking, Are you in?

Tuesday September 28, 2021: As you know, on April 12, 2022 the frothy Jupiter-Neptune cycle of speculation, bubbles, waste, and/or idealism and inspiration begins over again @23Pis59 as it does about every 13 years. If you wish you can view the conjunction's DC Horoscope here or here.

You'll remember that their last Great Conjunction was a three-fer in Air all through 2009 under the presidency of Barack Obama with their energies landing upon US natal Moon (for those who use a July 4, 1776 US Horoscope with Moon in Aquarius). As usual for the last few decades - and perhaps this very week in Congress we see again how Republicans spend like wastrels, gift the wealthy class with tax breaks, and leave Democrats to clean up the financial mess. Then in 2009, the GOP proceeded to criticize the limited methods available to President Obama (and VP Biden!) for repairing the hollowed out US economy as best they could. And then with the US economy patched up, the orange grifter took over the White House and you know how costly his four years have turned out to be as he increased fraud, corruption, and theft on every level.

So looking back, this inflationary planetary pair of gas and promises represented the year 2009 in America quite well with potentials for: "little sense of reality; desire to dream (some voters considered Mr. Obama dreamy!); becoming involved in speculation, instability, wastefulness' (R. Ebertin) - and that, coming soon after the Bush-Cheney Financial and Housing Crash of 2007/2008 which occurred under the previous Jupiter-Neptune Conjunction of 1997 @27Cap09 - conjunct US natal Pluto Rx! (Jupiter-Neptune = Pluto: 'unreasonable plans; far-reaching speculation; a great loss' (RE). From Noel Tyl add: 'major adjustment of life circumstances (ex: eviction); self-projection out of hand' (ex: the expansive neocon PNAC war profiteers - or, just 'good old' American imperialism and the Pentagon's Global Cop-ism) (Solar Arcs, Tyl; #ad). Neptunian graft, bribes, payoffs, blackmail, corruption, fraud, and theft.

So Will the 2022 Campaign Turn Up the Gaslighting? And Who'll Pay the Bills?

Disturbingly, 'a belief that goals and obligations can be explained away once you tire of them' can also be part of a Jupiter-Neptune scenario (M. Munkasey) along with 'frequent misjudgments about the reality of surrounding circumstances' leading to 'tremendous disillusionment' (A. Oken). Yes, misinformation, a polite word for propaganda (including the Big Lie) can do that to a population. One favored GOP tactic: wedge issues - and note that unfortunately the American public may be facing such disillusion again in 2022, especially - in my opinion - if chaos-creating Republicans have anything to do with it. Besides damaging personal finances and the National Treasury, it's the GOP's spiteful "own the libs," you know. Never mind what their malicious scheme does to the rest of us, to our country, the economy, and to the social fabric of society. Politics used to grasp wealth and power are the things.

Meanwhile, as noted today in the Stars Over Washington Reports FB group (join us!), the 'First Session' SCOTUS Horoscope shows a 24 Pisces Ascendant so the frothily gaseous duo's tendencies toward 'sharing great hopes' and 'speculation' will on some level affect the US Supreme Court and/or its Justices with inflated, bloated, or scandalous vibes - or, on the positive side a grand spirit will express. Of course, political conflicts also attach to the Jupiter-Neptune pairing and suggests the many complications expected during our vulnerable 2022 Midterms which will (apparently) be held on the very day of a Taurus Lunar Eclipse at the "Swords vs Torches" degree. So besides 2022 being a 'Jupiter-Neptune' year (this conjunction operative until March 24, 2035 @21Ari21), the 'Midterms Moon Eclipse' certainly casts a 'wild card' cosmic spotlight, perhaps a disruptive one, upon the 2022 Elections, election results, and on the US Congress, yes? Because As Above, So Below!

Jupiter Happily Expands Shadowy Neptune's Magical Wand of Fairy Dust

Meanwhile, mention ought to be made of the cosmic fact that the April 12, 2022 Jupiter-Neptune Conjunction in mystical Pisces is part of the tiresomely ongoing transit of Neptune in Pisces opposing US natal Neptune in Virgo @22Vir25 with its racial persecution vibes and pathological tendencies across the Virgo-Pisces victim-savior axis so let's throw caution to the wind and consider potentials for 'Jupiter-Neptune with more Neptune':

Now I don't know about you, dear reader, but to me this hints at an even greater increase of religious involvement in Politics as 2022 approaches, something overly bizarre that we've seen more and more in the last few years with odd notions that neglect or supercede for some the Founders' grand ideal of the separation of church and state. Therefore, with political planet Jupiter playing a codified-religion role and spiritual Neptune inflating, undermining, veiling, or infecting whatever it touches with its sparkly wand (often wielded by a complicit mass media and right-wing pundits and blowhards), my fret is that this increase will continue to be a signpost along the diverted path of theocracy America now treads with such influences partially and purposefully hidden as they currently may or may not be for much longer.

So when you cast your votes in November 2022, please be extra careful who you vote for - unless an unrecognizable America forcing authoritarian religion down your throat is your misbegotten goal.

The Two Karmic Eclipses That Affect Midterms 2022

Wednesday August 4, 2021: One reason to spotlight here the two eclipses that will affect the Midterms 2022 Elections is because of the clues, hints, and the cosmic information that their horoscopes contain. Yes, previous posts have been published concerning them, however, this dual image of the charts can be seen, below, for the purpose of adding the midpoint pictures from both eclipes: the 6 South Solar Eclipse of October 25, 2022 @2Scorpio conjunct Venus (2Sco39: cooperation needed and material values are involved) and rising in Washington DC, and the November 8, 2022 Lunar Eclipse @16Tau00 conjunct radical reformer Uranus Rx (16Tau56) with the Sun @16Scorpio snugged between Mercury (15Sco52) and Venus (20Sco13) - all rising in our nation's capital led by the transiting South Node in Scorpio which emphasizes the karmic implications for Washington DC of the 6 South Eclipse.

So if we round up the eclipse and Venus degree to "3 Scorpio" we have a clue: "A House-Raising" which suggests that the US Congress is understandably involved (or even eviction notices, see below). Furthermore, the degree's Keyword is: "HELPFULNESS - positive expression: an exceptional power of accomplishment through a consistent success in winning the good will and enlisting the services of others; negative expression: a complete inability to fit into any pattern of shared relationships" (The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, M. E. Jones). And the eclipse degree's Illumination Point opposite at "3 Taurus" = HOPEFULNESS! YBut yes, the Exaltation degree of the Moon (3Taurus) and the Fall of the Moon degree (3Scorpio) may be somehow involved but I suspect that few astrologers use such cosmic indicators these days. It is an axis like the Nodal Axis with the Taurus-Scorpio 2/8 polarity as the focus of both eclipses with the Lunar Eclipse describing our reactions to the events brought by the Solar Eclipse. One end of the Solar Eclipse has vanity, conceit, and self-glorification (Mercury-Venus = Sun) while the other end brings the radical reforms, shared experiences, and potential upsets of Uranus-NN. Then, our lunar reactions include common sense on one end (Sun-Mercury) and ideals (Sun-Venus) while the opposite end expresses potentials for emotional excitability or tension, sacrifice, and/or possible anxiety due to nervousness over reforms and political or social changes. Circumstances will become clearer once Campaign 2024 is officially underway.

Now of course with any Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, society must handle events and conditions very carefully for although strength of purpose, seeing to the very root of our problems, and karmic opportunities for progress are involved, astrologer Rose Lineman points out that such an eclipse can also bring out in susceptible people the negative traits of Scorpio such as vengefulness, hatred, jealousy, and cruelty. And you'll agree that modern society already has an overabundance of such traits expressing within the Collective. Hopefully, the Scorpio eclipse of October 2022 will activate the more positive karmic possibilities so we must concentrate on this.

Meanwhile, as you see on the Solar Eclipse chart (lower left), communicating Mercury (dot all Is, cross all Ts when rising just before the Sun = oriental), planet of young people, brings along fixed stars Arcturus (the White House) and Spica (the spike = the Washington Monument, or, the US Presidency). This 6 South Eclipse of October 25, 2022 is the Prenatal Eclipse ('PE') of Midterms 2022 and therefore is the PE of the Lunar Eclipse itself which perfects on the very day of the election/s (November 8th), as you see:

'Cosmic Blink' Eclipses Are 'Wild Cards of the Universe'

Now you know that all eclipses are karmic and suggest sudden changes of direction in earthly affairs in similar fashion to the erratic planet Uranus which when active seems to spark external fated events but actually has been acting or catalyzing on an internal level for some period of time. Radical politics and reforms accrue to zealous Uranus but in the earthy sign of Taurus, we've also seen changes (Uranus) within the realms of natural and ecological disasters (with Uranus ruling bolts of lightening and shifts), and in financial matters including a large amount of speculation on Wall Street, plus, stimulus payments of an unusual or novel nature. Even eviction moratoriums fall under the influence of Uranus in Venus-ruled Taurus expressing as unusual financial aid.

As you can see, penned to the left of the Solar Eclipse Horoscope, is a fretful note about the 6 South Eclipse which occurred on August 31, 1932 @8Virgo expressing as the 'Nazis Rise to Power Eclipse' - another very good reason to spotlight the 6 South manifestation approaching in 2022. (6 North is worrisome, too, on the level of 'authority figures' and 'taking over responsibility because someone is ill or unreliable' - B. Brady.) The themes of both elipses sound sinister, don't they? Well, forewarned is forearmed!

Flight Risk to Run for POTUS in 2024!

Tuesday July 13, 2021: If you've watched, heard, or read any of the news concerning CPAC 2021 in Dallas Texas, you know that Tr*mp did appear as expected and spoke for a very long time in his disjointed crazy-quilt fashion much to the delight of his die-hard fans in the audience. Apparently, for the audience it was a satisfying helping of their favorite rants 'n' chants and most, if not all, were (are) in on the joke - that their idol's 'Big Lie' of a stolen election - allegedly with 'fraud' by Democrats as the only reason former guy could have possibly lost the November 2020 election - will catapult him back into a white (supremacist) White House. For this delusion and its trick to work one must ignore the fact that a majority of voters in November 2020 did not want the grudge holding white-supremacist-slash-fascist back at the helm for another four years along with the further damage he could perpetrate upon our society. The blighter!

Mass Complicity!

For all the Tr*mp-ish actors secretly agree that his Goebbels-inspired 'Big Lie' is a mass-produced mystery play that he and his supporters are engaged in like one big happy neo-nazi family, whether consciously or unconsciously. My suspicion is that a percentage of his supporters think his desperation is all about regrasping authoritarian power and control so that they can "own the libs" they've been propagandized to hate, and thereby conquer their favorite wedge issues such as repealing Roe v Wade.

And yet a majority of Americans (liberal and otherwise) know that Tr*mp wants to scramble back to the Oval office with its legal protections so that he can avoid prosecution! Oh, and 'winning' in 2024 would please his overlords, both foreign and domestic, and added value: he could continue to plump up his dwindling bank accounts, wherever they may hide. Besides, he wouldn't want his thugs and goons to one day come after him!

So for cosmic support, you'll note that in the CPAC 2021 New Moon Horoscope of July 9th, the deceptive Neptune-MC midpoint rises which reveals the event's "acting and pretending" "mystery play" flavors, with the New Moon (18Can01) phase itself suggesting that demagogue Tr*mp has begun a new cycle of activity within his political endeavors, all geared toward running in the 2024 Presidential Election. So besides the abundant earthly signs of what the fascist-leaning GOP has planned for America (for which my common good sensibilities and Revolutionary ancestors totally reject), the Cosmos is reflecting similar implications for those with watchful eyes and open ears to hear - and be forewarned and ready.

An additional astro-note concerning yesterday's walk-out of Democratic legislators in Texas and their flight to Washington DC to highlight their fight against voter suppression legislation being forced by the Texas GOP. A peek at the Republic of Texas proclamation horoscope of March 2, 1836 reveals quirky Uranus @1Pis11, one degree from the very zodiacal spot (2:11) where transit Jupiter, now Rx, made his standstill on June 20, 2021! A Jupiter-to-Uranus transit suggests involvement in group causes, and gaining more awareness of physical and mental freedom, both good descriptions of current events because Americans' Right to Vote is embedded within the US Constitution, and rescuing the Right to Vote is a worthy cause to believe in.

US Election Day November 5, 2024: Portents of Venus in Sagittarius

Friday July 9, 2021: First we should note that a multitude of earth-based social and political factors will affect the final results of the 2024 Presidential Election and quite a few astrologers poo poo the Venus Cycle theory of US elections. However, to me the Venus Cycle seems one of the more basic influences upon who wins and who loses the coveted White House position. The 'goddess' does, after all, reign atop the US Capitol Building and one of her archetypal manifestations as "Columbia" is well known as namesake of the District. Certainly, Venus is no stranger to or in Washington, DC.

Therefore, today I'm plopping the Venus Cycle effect upon US election cycles back into the discourse of SO'W with an eye toward November 5, 2024 when Venus will be in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius and future references to the 2024 Election will certainly turn up here on SO'W and elsewhere as time flees on.

So here is an excerpt (with a few small edits for clarity) from a previous post written in light of the 2016 Election but with portents that may (or may not) affect the results of Election 2024:

Now as Morning Star, election day Venus favors the incumbent candidate or ruling party (even if 2 terms--8 years-- have been served by the incumbent president) - aka, the "one who wears the crown" as it was termed in the olden days of Mundane Astrology. The Morning Star status of Venus occurs in November (2nd through 8th, when presidential elections are held) when 'the lady' is in the early degrees of Libra, one of the signs Venus rules. Since our elections are on a 4-year cycle, Venus is Evening Star in alternate elections because Venus returns to her same position every 8 years. As Evening Star, her position is the mid-to-later degrees of Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius, sign of the stranger, foreigner, or outsider - someone different or 'other' who acts as the challenger and rival to the throne - such as a non-politician, or an Independent (neither Republican nor Democrat).

But in her Evening Star role, Venus bestows favor upon the incumbent party's rival as if she's wielding influence in the court of a king and 'the crown' is given to the opponent of the ruling king. Yet there have been two notable exceptions to this predictive guide: the successful election of Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932 when he whisked away 'the crown' from the head of one-term Republican Herbert Hoover, and the election of Republican Ronald Reagan in 1980 who finagled 'the crown' from one-term Democrat Jimmy Carter. Both elections occurred with Venus as Morning Star (in Libra) yet upsets somehow occurred due in part to both candidates' tendencies to hastily give favors to others and/or make advantageous backroom deals (Iran hostages boosted Reagan; for Hoover, his tide of popularity had turned due to economics after 1929.)

Even so, let's not use the word 'cheating' though I will say that cheating isn't winning, it's stealing. Plus, a fed-up American public can make a difference as well for if we show up and vote in a landslide it's more difficult for operatives to finagle outcomes their way and against We The People's wishes.

But facing facts as this Saturnian astrologer prefers to do, we know that in 2021 the GOP is busy making a 2024 landslide for Democrats more difficult via repressive voting reforms in various states so that it will take an even larger landslide than ever before if we wish to best the nazi-loving cheaters of 2024. And that also goes for Midterms 2022!

April 29, 2021: Now that President Joe Biden has delivered his pseudo-SOTU address last night to a pared-down Joint Session of Congress on the eve of his 100th day in office, it's time to face the portents within the horoscope of the 2022 Midterm Elections of November 8, 2022 which is the day of a Lunar Eclipse @16Taurus00. Now usually for elections, I publish horoscopes of the opening of voting and/or the closing of it but since a Lunar Eclipse is a huge 'cosmic blink' of disruption and revelation, I'm using the eclipse's moment of perfection at 6:01:57 am est on Election Day as the Midterms 2022 Horoscope to work from concerning these very significant elections that can possibly result in a change of control in the US Congress, House and/or Senate. But as you know, flipping Congress would be a disaster for Americans who appreciate Mr. Biden's attempts and policies meant to improve social conditions in our country while sending a huge bill to wealthy corporate tax evaders and authoritarian, anti-democratic enablers - including violent hotheads who like to march with Tiki Torches which are now viewed as racist. For good reason.

And is it bizarre that for ages 'eternal flames' have been symbolic of so-called 'illumi*ati' involvement in certain events? (Readers: NO illumi*ati promos or ads will ever be published on SO'W so don't waste your time.)

Well, for the curious, here's some info concerning the gravesite eternal flames of JFK, Princess Diana, the Parisienne tunnel where she and Dodi crashed, the World Trade Center, etc. Tragically, the concept of ritual sacrifice comes to mind but do ignore the information if you wish!

DC Horoscope: 'Midterms' Lunar Eclipse November 8, 2022 @16Tau00:53

The Syzygy Moon (prior lunation) of this Eclipse IS the Solar Eclipse @2Sco00 in the manic 6 South Saros Series. As you know, New Moons prior to elections are considered predictive so my fondest wish is that the 'taking power' theme of 6 South, which worked so well for Nazis in 1932 (and more kindly in the US for FDR), will be taken very seriously by those who have the power to act against the sore loser insurrectionists who again plan a violent take-over of the US government - and this time a stronger effort will be mounted than on January 6, 2021 (which was a practice session):

Ascendant 6Sco57 makes Mars Rx in Gemini the chart-ruler with a square from Neptune in Pisces (2A12) continuing the gaseous planet's deceptive, undermining, ongoing opposition to US natal Neptune @22Virgo (timing a generational clash of ideals), plus, this includes Neptune's square to US Mars which denotes the undermining of physical efforts, delayed successes, goals that must be realistic and as practical as possible (yet can be inspirational), potentials for illness and infection, dangerous water travel, and a caution to keep plugging away despite it all. Of course, we can expect that from time to time mitigating planetary factors will help the abundance of Neptunian conditions which, I confess, I identify primarily with the 'Republican Party' of 1854 and its Neptune in Pisces.

Shown is a fateful struggle between democracy and Neo-Nazism, folks, in part through the exciteable Moon-Uranus conjunction's revealing Sabian Symbol ("17Taurus"): "A Battle Between the Swords and the Torches." "Keyword is RESOLUTION" (Jones). This symbol speaks of "enlightenment, high organizational skill, and an ability to bring the magic of understanding to any specific difficulty." Those are the positive potentials of the symbol for which I look to those represented by democratic, nurturing Ceres (below). The negative expression = "a loss of self-competence through the conflicting compulsions of necessity and desire." This could be related to the urgent needs of the American people vs a certain group's deep desire for power and control embedded within the manic energies of the 6 South Solar Eclipse @2Sco00 which manifests on October 25 2022 with themes of 'huge efforts in group activities', 'sudden events', great strength or force in relationships', and 'being forceful and taking power' (Brady's Predictive Astrology #ad). Taking power, not through elections - through seizing power. Can forewarned be forearmed?

Now if you enlarge the image you'll see that the Lunar Eclipse Horoscope of November 8, 2022 reveals factors of 'Democracy vs Neo-Nazism' via Ceres @16Vir27 (sextile Sun, trine Moon - see Ceres, below), and the factoid that the elections fall within the influence of the prior Scorpio Solar Eclipse (losted as 'PE' and highlighted in orange, in 12th house of Politics, Large Institutions such as Congress, Back Room Deals, Self-Undoing, and/or Karma) falls within the 6 South Saros Series which in 2022 is a repeat of the 'Nazi Rise to Power' Eclipse of August 31, 1932 @8Vir09.

However, here's a ray of hope...

Ceres as Thales Point: A Saving Grace!

As astrologer Alice Portman explains, the Thales Point in an event chart identifies one who gets along well with both sides (here, political rivals: Sun opposite Moon) and can negotiate a fair arrangement. Basically, Ceres (asteroid of democracy) acting as Thales Point for this Lunar Eclipse (and therefore, for the 2022 Midterm Elections and the rivals therein) indicates a skilled negotiator or negotiators (with a democratic mindset, it seems) who can solve thorny issues, then communicate and explain them in ways that resolve, or at least, improve, difficult circumstances.

A Cosmic Check-Up for Modern Humanity: Our Appointment? March 8, 2021

March 6, 2021: Below is the DC Horoscope of the Modern Humanity Eclipse of 1892 which perfected on *April 26th at 4:46:34 pm est @7Tau05 in the 2 Old North Saros Series. Around the eclipse chart in center are the transits for March 8, 2021 set for 12:40:15 pm est Washington DC. I chose this hour for our "appointment" because it's when the July 4, 1776 Sun @13Can19 rises on March 8th, plus, US natal Sun sits atop the eclipse chart, as you see, in the catbird seat and visible to all. This sign and degree seems significant to me because of the 1892 Eclipse Midheaven/Immum Coeli axis, aka, the MC-IC Security/Homeland axis which emcompasses Career and Domestic Scene. Naurally, parental and child issues are also involved across the 4/10 polarity which in Western Astrology is ruled by the Moon (Cancer 4th house) and Saturn (Capricorn 10th house), the lunar mommy and solar daddy significators with family concerns close at hand. Of course, the Moon-Saturn duo can tend toward depression or illness, but also to ambition, strategy and direction:

Now I've tried not to scribble all over the bi-wheel with basic chart factors as I tend to do, however, penned upon the image are the more prominent planetary contacts of Monday March 8, 2021 and beyond since some transits are ongoing (perfecting multiple times, some already in progress) while some transits have yet to perfect but are included because they're within orb and will gain strength as they become exact.

An example is 2021 Mars to 1892 Neptune and Pluto @7Gem34/37 in the financial and corporate 8th house. As you know, America is under an ongoing attack (Mars) by criminal elements or the criminal underworld (Neptune-Pluto: racketeers and mobsters) who've infiltrated federal and state governments, some of whom work to sabotage our country into complete collapse and destroy democracy as a system of government - and with helpers in the political class. (You recognized the Tr*mp Mob's 'take-over' objective on January 6, 2021, I'm certain.) There exist social meddlers who want We The People in the streets with pitchcforks in hand! But personally I prefer legislative and legal powers to beat them and their lousy policies back.

Meanwhile, the Neptune-Pluto duo also represents the psychic roots of man (A. Oken) which makes the karmic pair, here in the 8th house of the Occult, prominent on an inner and/or spiritual level, and sometimes suggesting supernatural involvement.

A News Note: Today around noon or so, the US Senate passed a somehat reduced Covid Relief Bill which then goes back to the House to be re-passed before President Biden can sign it into law (because changes were made from the House version). So if its weighty abundance doesn't bring down our financial house entirely, the Bill will provide some financial relief for struggling Americans, their families, for Covid distribution efforts, and for state governments who can't just up and print money of their own like the federal government can do!

Now a quick look at 1892 chart-ruler Venus (ASC in Libra) and 'her' applying aspects which hint at how things will proceed. There are only two and one isn't considered Ptolemaic (major) in the traditional sense - an inconjunct, or quincunx (150 degrees), between Venus and Mars. Right away we know that adjustments (inconjunct) are needed between the sexes (Venus-Mars) which affect relationships (Aries-Libra issues, but also suggests war and diplomacy concerns). Money is involved as many folks work hard for too little profit and are exploited or, we exploit others in business and/or in love and war. Approval is sought from others to bolster self-worth (and increase paychecks?) so resentment is felt when we're unappreciated and America's obscene income inequality threatens all progress.

But prior to the inconjunct, Venus @22Gem31 squares karmic Saturn Rx @24Vir00 from 9th house to 12th. This is a cosmic picture of socializing issues of an anti-societal kind so that isolation is actually preferred by many. It also implies worry or anxiety over finances and/or legal matters yet worrying never brings positive outcomes, does it? Other potentials of the square include withheld affections or the limiting of resources such as the tiresome R vs D battles in Congress.

Now as you see, 1892 Saturn is angular upon the March 8, 2021 IC (as timed by the eclipse) suggesting our ongoing difficulties on the Domestic Scene, increased responsibilities at home, plus, the potential loss of homes through eviction or otherwise. Hopefully, this is a passing or temporary condition for us especially now that the Covid Relief Bill (Saturn!) seems to be heading for a presidential signing: yayy! Evictions forestalled for a few months longer while the economy hopefully improves. And obviously, Saturn in 12th house is a cosmic picture of folks working behind the scenes, or, from home in isolation. Perhaps this has not been such a bad deal for those who can manage to work from home since serious old Saturn joys in the 12th house!

Yet a fly in the House may be an inconjunction between Mercury, the planet of bills, signings, and negotiations, and restrictive Saturn which suggests authority figures who deny their responsibilities and tend to live in the past (the 'good ole days'). Do you know anyone like this? Perhaps someone 'serving' We The People in Congress? Or at least, getting paid to serve us? Or how about those who occupy certain governors' offices? Well, more adjustments to the Covid Relief Bill may be on the congressional menu. But this aspect reveals that sometimes it's better to say, No, and stop acting like patsies!

April 13, 2021

Now another word about Saturn: on April 13, 2021, Mars will square 1892 Saturn so that efforts to control may be stymied and aggressive actions blocked. Activities (Mars) are met with resistance (Saturn) and solutions must be sought which hints that good outcomes are possible (now that adults are in charge: Saturn). Thing is, at least two other transits occur on April 13, 2021: Jupiter sextiles 1892 Mercury (first of three) which suggests favorable business opportunities, and a positive period for writing, publishing, teaching, and commerce in general. All the Mercurial things which hopefully will benefit children.

Then in the more esoteric or spiritual realms on April 13th, 2021 Chiron (The Key!) conjuncts 1892 Jupiter in Aries (#1 of 3, in the 6th house of Service and Health), a transit already within orb. This transit identifies a period when it's 'time to forget and forgive' so that old wounds (Chiron) can heal. Those with the idea that we must 'move on' are correct for this is exactly what it is time for. And yet days in court for criminals are warranted as well so perhaps around the time of the third conjunction (February 12, 2022), justice will be served and satisfied, 'clean-ups on aisle 13' will be successfully completed, and society can move into the future with lighter hearts, better braced for upcoming challenges.

Now before I list a few midpoint pictures, we should consider an overarching situation: that 2021 Uranus has been opposing 1892 Uranus from Taurus to Scorpio, its sign of exaltation. March 6, 2021 was the last of three exact oppositions, and as you know, this is the "Mid-Life Crisis" transit for human beings, and some astrologers might say it can't apply to society as a whole. But what is Modern Humanity but a massive collective of human beings? I say it does apply to current conditions, and the restlessness involved, plus, its out-of-character implications in our era seem spot-on to me, if not to you. This disruptive influence is, in a word, generational, and I'd say that Uranian styles of uniqueness and individualism are signs of the times.

Now you know that the sign of Uranus describes behavioral tendencies so we've 'traded' intense Scorpio tendencies for Taurean ones (materialistic, possessive, intolerant of 'the other') and suggests potentials for risk-taking, speculation, finding unusual sources of funding, funny financing, sudden economic changes, and/or putting all the eggs into one basket. When in Taurus, the sign of its detriment, erratic Uranus likes to advance reforms in business and the economy so with the financial stalemates and underhanded schemes on Capitol Hill, we've certainly noticed such tendencies in recent years. Of course, this transit has occurred before, as have others, so a look back would be interesting but it's beyond the scope of this post. After all, I don't have all night and neither do you!

3 Midpoint Pictures: March-April 2021 to April 26, 1892; any, all, or none may apply

1. 2021 Uranus conjunct 1892 Solar Eclipse: acting independently; rebellion; sudden conflicts; shared upsets; lack of adaptability; quick developments; dramatic changes and reforms. As you know, eclipses are Uranian 'wild cards of the Universe', disrupting earthly events as mundane Uranus can do. Actions may occur early, on time, late, or never. Plus, quirky Uranus often wears a cap of the Utopian anarchist, political zealot, radical reactionary and reformer. This is a major transit with both Uranus and the Eclipse suggesting that karmic progress can be made if the energies are handled correctly! Yes, it's full of difficulties for society - like catching a bolt of lightening in a bottle! Yet 2021 Uranus is activating the eclipse themes of 2 Old North which are: 'unfortunate news concerning relationships; issues of separation or the endings of unions' (secession?); 'things look worse at first but brighten with quite positive results; taking action concerning personal relationships' (paraphrasing Brady's Predictive Astrology). Humanity has recently experienced a 2 Old North Eclipse on July 12, 2018 @21Cancer. (Actually, you may remember that this is the Prenatal Eclipse Series of the former guy, what's-his-name.)

2. 1892 Neptune-Pluto = 2021 Mars: taking action based on faith; application of force taken sensitively (ex: 'surgical strikes'?); displays of powerful emotions; a deep urge to change or transform, eliminate, purify (by Covid?), or unite; the desire to share power or territory; hostility; the use of violence to accomplish aims; being used as a tool for other people's interests; lack of stamina; convincing or being convinced.

And 3. 2021 Moon-Pluto = 1892 Mars: using force to achieve changes in corrupt practices; quarrels; rage; possible injuries; secrets or scandals revealed (ex: a possible love child).

Now let's close with a fourth April 13th transit involving 1892 Saturn but this one begins in 2022: undermining Neptune in Pisces will oppose 1892 Saturn, first on April 13, 2022, with the third opposition on February 13, 2023. This is a destabilizing and stressful influence (already within orb) when authority figures are threatened by deceitful people (already, I know!), multiple bankruptcies may occur, and important limitations can disappear. Apparently, our disappointment with corrupt authority figures will continue to erode society if we allow it.

The challenge for humanity is to figure out how to see things from a different perspective which most folks seem to already be doing as they reflect upon what's truly important and valuable in their lives.
