Mercury: the Trader, Traitor, Salesman, and Trickster Awaiting at the Crossroads

When it comes to transactional planet Mercury in the natal horoscope of Donald Trump, a few first things to know include its sign: Moon-ruled Cancer, and house: 11th of Groups, Associations, Hopes and Wishes. (Perhaps a review of Trump's natal Mercury is in order. It's pretty skanky so beware.) The next consideration is any aspects made to or from Mercury, what I call the 'tofu planet' because astrologically speaking, Mercury absorbs flavors or vibes of any planet it contacts. Versatile, adaptable, and changeable!

Now in Trump's case, this is his problematic Mercury-Neptune square from 11th to 2nd house. From this we find that Trump's yearly Mercury Returns repeat and emphasize the square to natal Neptune each year which denotes a period when errors, woolgathering, indiscretion, and deception come forward and the mind can play tricks (self-delusion) while fantasies take over his thoughts, communications, and plans. Needless to say, his usual tendencies toward these, plus, his misperceptions, exaggerations (boasting), and sneaky schemes will be spotlighted in June and July although I'd have a difficult time telling you when they aren't on distressing display, much to the disappointment of a majority of the American people (and the rest of the world).

Another consideration of his Mercury is which planets and houses (departments of life) Mercury disposits or rules in his radix chart. This would be his 2nd hou$e (cusp 22Vir57 conjunct US natal Neptune which squares our natal Mars) and his 11th house (cusp 29Gem18, a critical-crisis 29th degree - where transit North Node now points as it enters his 10th house of Career and Public Status). So we see that Mercury Returns for Trump always affect his 2nd and 11th houses in particular. (We also see that the speculator-fraudster pair, bubbly Jupiter and Neptune, are posited in his 2nd hou$e with his wounded/wounding Chiron snugged between them but that's beyond the scope of this Mercurial post.)

So now the question is: does Mercury rule any of Trump's natal planets?

Why yes, glad you asked! For as you know, Trump's Sun (adult personality; essence) is in Gemini, sign of the eternal child, as are his guiding planet Uranus, and North Node. As you know, his 10th house trio is always on display for the whole world to see and links him to radical reforms and political activity. Erratic Uranus, planet of chaos, shock, and disruption, is his 'guiding planet' because it is last to rise before his Sun, as we've discussed in prior posts. And of course, Gemini and technology planet Uranus relate to his constant use of Twitter to send his messages directly to a wider public (10th house)- but with plenty of misinformation, fibs, exaggerations, insults, and propaganda therein (duplicitous Gemini, ruled by trickster Mercury!).

Now with this particular Mercury Return 2020, Trump is experiencing an extended Mercurial period due to transit Mercury's retrogradation ('Rx'). Exact dates that Mercury returns to 8Can51 are June 5th (already occurred a few hours prior to the Lunar Eclipse @15Sag34), July 2 (Rx), and July 20th which brings him a transit Mars-square-natal Mercury contact that suggests potentials for frustration, anger, quarrels (especially with males), aggression, giving or receiving incorrect information or directions, and obstacles that may be encountered during travel including bad weather. On July 20th, Return Mercury is in Return 6th house and the possibility of faulty wiring could turn up which can relate to equipment or to the brain (I'm not wishing just reporting!), plus, abundant energy will be available so that ideas can be put into action, or new work methods or techniques may be implemented. Obviously, 6th house matters are spotlighted and on his mind including health, daily rounds, military, police, and/or civil service.

So to summarize what I'm subtly suggesting here, 'Mercury at the Crossroads' - the Return period which is more or less a 'new start' for Mercury The Fool - could have been sparked by Trump's recent disappointing, ego-deflating rally turnout in Tulsa, OK, with the idea that perhaps the time has arrived for his Mercurial mind take a look at itself and think about upping its game of persuasion and strategy. Maybe find new topics for his speeches because his old ones are mighty stale - and the November 2020 Election approaches stealthily on cat's paws. Not that he's self-reflective enough to do this but it is time. No, I'm not counting the coronavirus in this post nor am I focused on other planetary considerations - even his emotional, unconsciously driven Moon-SN is left out today. The only star of this post is his little Mercury, planet of speeches and voters, thought patterns, tweets, transactions, cheating, theft, and falsehoods.

So if by chance a turning point in Trump's behavior or in his campaign for 're-election' has been reached, it may be Trump's Mercury we'll have to thank. Or, more than likely given his record, to blame.

The Path of Mercury - June and July 2020: the little guy turned Retrograde @14Can45 on June 18th; on July 12th Mercury turns Direct @5Can29 (conjunct US natal Jupiter), then reaches and passes his Shadow Degree of 14Can45 on July 26, 2020.

July/December 2020: Pluto opposes Trump natal Saturn

May 10, 2020: Today I'm publishing a DC Horoscope showing transit Pluto @23Cap48 (in transit 4th house, highlighted in red) opposing for the third (and final) of three times Trump's natal Saturn (@23Can48 in his natal 11th house; highlighted in green). Pluto's first opposition to his natal Saturn occurred on February 12, 2020, the second on July 12, 2020. Obviously the events of February 2020 were problematic for Mr. Don't Blame Me as he attempted to downplay and dismiss the coronavirus/Covid-19 contagion, while July 12th and December 20th events and conditions in the real world remain to be seen and experienced.

Meanwhile, We Have the Investigative Lens of Astrology

Needless to say, powerful, wealthy, stealthy Pluto opposing the planet of authority, realism, and accountability - karmic Saturn - identifies a period full of power plays and challenges to his and our government's authority and control. These conditions and circumstances have become more intense in 2020 for Trump and thus for our nation as we see from the late Capricorn line-up of planets which will more of less culminate with the December 21, 2020 Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction in Airy Aquarius.

So 2020 Pluto's opposition to the authority, authenticity, maturity, and sense of reality (Saturn) of Trump includes his management (Saturn) of current crisis conditions which are cosmically imprinted upon current and future events by the Great Conjunction of Saturn and Pluto (January 12, 2020 @23Capricorn--conjunct Trump's natal Vertex of fate encounters) - and opposing his cold Saturn in the watery, subjective, tribal sign of Cancer. As you know, their conjunction started a new 33-to-38-year cycle of all that the karmic duo influences or relates to, and it timed the ending of their last cycle which began on November 8, 1982 @27Lib36 under Mr. Reagan--his harmful 'Reaganomic$' springs to mind).

So in the DC Horoscope below, I've noted (lower right corner) the T-Square formed by the Saturn-Pluto opposition squaring transit Mars (in 7th house @22Ari39: Aries, the warrior planet's favorite sign) denoting potentials for 'the necessity to fight for one's existence, brutality', and/or 'assaults' of some kind (Ebertin). To this midpoint picture Noel Tyl adds: 'fighting battles to keep life going; enormous undercurrent of frustration'; and/or 'a gun with a cork in its barrel'. And since American 'goes' wherever Trump goes, this picture also relates to society in as a whole and to males in general, plus, to warriors, activists, fire-starters, and malcontents.

DC Horoscope: December 20, 2020 Transit Pluto Opposes Trump natal Saturn (#3 of 3); exact at 1:24:24 am est: Hour of an Out-Of-Bounds Mercury; chart-ruler Venus Tilts a BOWL:

As you can see, rising is 14Lib48, the exact position of US natal Saturn (July 4, 1776) and conjunct the natal Chiron of Donald Trump who has wounded our Saturnian form of government in every way he and his enablers can devise. So this charts timing allows the midpoint of the speculation/inflation pair of Trump, Jupiter-Neptune in Libra (also 'political conflicts'--Ebertin) to rise as well, a picture of crooks and swindlers for Trump who is both the wound, the wounded, and the one who wounds (Chiron). From America's exalted-in-Libra Saturn wedged between Trump's Jupiter-Neptune (see notes, lower left) we continue to experience potentials of 'a combination of real with unreal in activities, disappointments, discontent, consequences that issue from false hopes', and 'a feeling of being abandoned by luck' (Ebertin).

Plus, America's Saturnian representatives such as lawmakers, lawyers, judges (SCOTUS), DOJ, those in charge, experts, hard workers including miners, government workers, and the seniors among us, both wise and foolish, are implicated as early concerns rising in this chart. And obviously, the US Congress is on the cosmic menu, as it always is under the destructive influences of Trump.

Well, there are several more chart factors worth mentioning but I shall end with the primary reason this horoscope is being published today: to show transit Pluto opposing Trump's natal Saturn #3 of #3 so that we may consider the opposing Sabian Symbols of Pluto ("24Capricorn") and Trump's Saturn ("24Cancer") across the security/ambition axis. As with all degrees directly opposite one another, any degree serves as the Illumination Point of its opposite.

Note: why am I adding only the negative expressions of the Symbols? Because politics.

2020 Pluto "24Capricorn": "A Woman Entering a Convent"; negative/shadow side expression: "abject surrender to weakness"; natal Saturn "24Cancer": "A Woman and Two Men on a Bit of Sunlit Land Facing South" (Mar-a-Lago?); negative/shadow side expression: "a devastating sense of ineptitude and estrangement from reality" (Jones).

Now if any reader of this post thinks this doesn't sound just like Donald Trump and the current "leadership" America finds herself struggling with under mismanager Trump's hazardous tutelage, we shall simply have to disagree! jc

Trump says US Presidential Authority is "Total"!

Perhaps it was only intended to be a distraction from criticism, but on Monday April 13, 2020 at 6:58 pm edt, Donald Trump asserted that, "The authority of the President of the United States is total." My suspicion is that this is a flag he ran up the American flagpole to see who would salute. But naturally, people in their right minds know that Trump's attempt to project power and persuasion with a statement drenched by his desire for monarchical rule of America is totally false. Monarchy is, of course, exactly what our ancestors sacrificed, fought, and died for in order to reject such a form of government in this, the 'New World'. This compels me once again to my conjecture that Trump has no Revolutionary War ancestors. And it shows. Well, perhaps he can claim one of the defeated Hessians!

And so as you might expect, my streak of Saturnian Astrology just had to peek at a horoscope set for the time and date in Washington DC.

In the horoscope we find US natal Saturn exalted in Libra and rising on the Ascendant along with Trump's natal 2nd hou$e Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter trio of planets. Since our Trump nightmare began, I've been wondering when his grand dreams-speculating-inflationary-hypocritical-scandal-prone pair of Jupiter-Neptune would make itself even more prominent in our lives.

Consider the following in light of his offensive assertion of absolute power (which corrupts absolutely):

Jupiter-Neptune = ASC: 'living in a world lighted by personal imagination and an emotionally rationalized agenda; speculation'. With US natal Saturn: 'lack of confidence; experiencing the consequences issuing from false hopes; plans which come to nothing; disappointment; losses'.

Plus, with expansive Jupiter and powerful Pluto aligned (with two more exact conjunctions to go for this duo of Plutocracy) we might wish to consider their potentials as apex planets within a midpoint picture that formed on April 13:

Moon-Mars = Jupiter: 'temporary expansion of aggression toward the common people; fanaticism; one-sidedness'. With Pluto: intensified defiance during periods of uncertainty; powerful opinionation and a demanding nature.' (Tyl; Ebertin; Munkasey).

Meanwhile, transit Jupiter and Pluto in late Capricorn - a pair implying such things as: 'criminal elements; extreme depletion of resources; destruction of legal documents' - are now taking their bow atop Inauguration 2017's Midheaven ('MC'), the Goal Point. So let's look at one more midpoint picture that will retain a measure of ongoing influence:

Jupiter-Pluto = MC: ambition; hardworking attainment of a power position.

Now the last lunation prior to his statement, its Syzygy Moon, was the Full Moon of April 7,2020, the second 'Super moon' of 2020 (three more to go). The revealing rays of this particular Moon @18lib46 spotlighted Trump's natal Jupiter (17lib27) which was Stationary at his birth and began moving in direct motion a mere 3 hours 11 minutes after he hatched. And as you know, astrological Jupiter, planet of abundance and increase--and often sporting a massive Zeus complex--can act as a definite boundary-and-law breaker who rushes in with little if any concern for the consequences of his ill-considered disregard for law, necessary limits, and common sense.

DC Horoscope: Autumn Equinox 2020

March 16, 2020: Well, here it is, the DC Horoscope of Autumn Equinox 2020, timed by the moment the Sun reaches 00Lib:00:00 on Tuesday September 22nd at 9:30:31 am EDT with Scorpio rising in DC. Chart-ruler Mars (co-ruler Pluto) makes two applying aspects in the chart, a square to Saturn (1A36), then a square to co-ruler Pluto (4A27) and of course, a Rx chart-ruler ups the chances of delays and difficulties, temporary though they may be:

As you can see, 6th house Mars is retrograde and symbolically moving back toward opposition with rising Mercury in Libra (24:15) suggesting that previous debates will continue (opposition exact September 24th at 6:53 am) but the two dynamic squares from Mars are what take precedence as to how things will proceed. Note that the Sun @00Libra conjuncts America's natal Midheaven in our nation's late afternoon chart (July 4, 1776 5:09 pm LMT Philadelphia, PA) as is the case every year. Significantly, this particular Autumn Equinox chart contains the November 3rd 2020 Election--assuming that voting goes on as scheduled, even with the fly in our ballot ointment being voting planet Mercury stationing and changing direction on Election Day and possibly suggesting changed minds if not machine glitches and/or hacking. So how will things proceed within Autumn Equinox 2020 conditions?

According to chart-and-Equinox-ruler Mars, forceful in his own sign of Aries and in 6th house of Service and Health, a square to restrictive Saturn (still strong in his own sign of governmental/business oriented Capricorn) indicates frustrations, delays, and difficulties aggravated by Mars Rx, as noted. Resistance to authority, bad timing, and threats are potentials and patience is necessary for these conditions are only temporary and should clear up soon after Mars turns Direct on or about November 14th.

However, transit Mars goes on to square powerful Pluto, the wealthy, stealthy manipulator, and karmic conditions ramp up as intense power struggles are engaged, jealousy may rear its ugly head, and motivations are of a vengeful nature. Some form of destruction is evident, military battles are a possibility, and anger turns to rage as past actions interfere with current progress. Various plans may have to be delayed yet if this forceful Mars-Pluto energy can be positively channeled, much can be accomplished. Whether with positive or negative results depends upon motivations of the people involved including opponents.

Now there are several other chart factors of note in this chart but since I'm feeling rather fussy tonight, I shall leave many of them for you to discover and, if you wish, leave your on-topic comments with this post.

Yet for anyone desiring more information, here's some concerning the 4 North Prenatal Solar Eclipse of this Equinox (Eclipse @00Can21 conjunct 9th cusp). Meanwhile, my friends, we can say that Autumn Equinox 2020 is full of financial and economic indicators seen in part by a problematic YOD pattern (see upper right) of crisis or a turning point (full of karmic opportunity) between money planets, the speculating pair of bubbles, inflation, risk-taking, and grand financial schemes--Jupiter and Neptune (sextile here but conjunct in the 1792 NYSE Buttonwood chart). Plus, there's values planet Venus @18Leo07 in the visible 10th house, so some new perspectives concerning upcoming conditions of change and fluctuation which are also suggested by a 2nd hou$e Moon in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius--will be in order by September or probably before considering the mess we're already in with global shutdowns and financing. Unfortunately, US currency issues are possible so perhaps it's crazy to think it but a measure of Venusian diplomacy could be on America's menu, led by--a woman?!

More on Jupiter-Neptune: the world remains under the auspices of the three-fer Jupiter-Neptune Conjunctions of 2009. For Americans all three conjunctions occurred in the range of 24--27 Aquarius which hit our national Moon in Aquarius and we fell under the spell of Barack Obama (2009, his first year as POTUS) whose natal Mars (23Virgo) acted and acts underneath the veil of America's natal Neptune (23Virgo), a glamorous 'rock star' connection which can also imply secretive war activities (US natal Mars-Neptune square: misdirected/misguided motivations and actions; the 'fog of war').

The dreamy, swooning, fantasy-prone Jupiter-Neptune = US natal Moon (little sense of reality!) influences continue at least until the next conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune on April 12, 2022 @23Pis59 conjunct fixed star Markab. Potentials for Markab when linked to a planet--in 2022, to both Jupiter and Neptune--include: legal problems, accidents, emotional scars, sorrow, literary ability, and/or tragedy (A. Louis).

Assange Arrested w Pluto opposing natal Mercury

April 12, 2019: As you've heard, Jupiter-Neptune figure, Julian Assange of WikiLeaks fame, was arrested yesterday morning in London UK and was unwillingly extracted from the Ecuadorian embassy and pushed into a police van--one day after transit Jupiter turned retrograde opposite his natal Venus in Gemini! This transit indicates a period when cooperation from others is hard to attain, promises can be broken, and discouragement sets in. Other cosmic factors stand out for him now including transit Pluto @22Capricorn opposing his natal Mercury in Cancer denoting such potentials as receipt of disturbing news from the outside world (that the embassy had revoked his residency there that morning, April 10), the arrival of a major crisis causing irritability and distress, and the opinions of others being forced upon him (indictment). Note that his natal Mercury @24Cancer conjoins the natal Mercury (Rx) of the United States of America (1776).

Yet curiously, transit Mercury, planet of communications, hacking, and passwords, trines his natal Mercury indicating a time of many calls, talks, negotiations, agreements, and the need to make connections and to exchange something. Stress, anxiety, and nervousness are shown by multiple factors such as transit Mercury sesquisquare natal Moon (Luna @7Sco42 in natal 12th house of Secrets and Karma), tr Mars inconjunct natal Moon, and tr Jupiter inconjunct natal Mercury--all Mercurial and related to communications, thought processes, ideas, and plans which now for Mr. Assange have gone awry.

Transit Saturn and Uranus are stressful as well with potentials for a social status adjustment (tr Saturn inconjunct natal Midheaven @19Leo57) and sudden changes enforced along with saying good-byes (tr Uranus inconjunct natal Ascendant @1Sag59).

Looking ahead, Julian Assange's natal Sun @10Can38 will be directly 'eclipsed' on July 2, 2019 by a Solar Eclipse @10Can37 in the difficult 3 North Saros Series with themes of: 'news involving young people or news that transforms a situation and can cause worry or obsession; very large plans are wanted but avoid getting carried away'. (Brady's Predictive Astrology). Perhaps you recognize 3 North as the Prenatal Eclipse ('PE') of the 9/11/01 WTC attacks, the 1929 Crash, the CIA, and President Andrew Jackson. Or not. Even so, this cosmic solar condition suggests a total change of direction for Mr. Assange who must already be feeling its 'wild card' 'cosmic blink' eclipse energies--so was this challenge fated? One might guess so for he was born July 3, 1971 (3:00 pm AEST Townsville, AU) during a karma-laden Saturn-Neptune opposition.

A natal Saturn-Neptune opposition suggests one who "swims with leaden boots" in his life while trying to float along without paying his dues which are always (at some point) demanded. This opposition can also indicate one with criminal tendencies (which is not meant to cast aspersions upon his dire or trumped-up legal situation). His test now may be intended to inspire him to become more responsible concerning his interactions with society; otherwise he'll be forced to do so by legal actions against him and their limiting consequences.

Deutsche Bank founding horoscope

A favorite piggy bank of Donald Trump, Germany's Deutsche Bank, was founded on March 10, 1870 (exact hour unknown) and began operating one month later with Sun conjunct Neptune (hidden truths; secret identities) in Aries. Below is the bank's founding horoscope set for Berlin, Germany, March 10, 1870 at 9:00 am LMT, a speculative hour:

Now accurate timing is not necessary in order to appreciate the bank's YOD pattern (crisis; turning point; crossroads; special task) with a Venus-Saturn sextile at its base and which was in effect the entire day and beyond. Marked on the chart are midpoint pictures within the YOD including US natal Pluto Rx (27Capricorn) as apex planet of the sextile (US Pluto conjunct DB's South Node); midpoint potentials (by Ebertin) are listed on the chart along with a note about the bank's Venus-Saturn sextile so capable of exploitation if it so chooses. Gold loving MIDAS @24Aries conjoins the Pluto-Chiron midpoint (24Aries) of plutocracy, plutocrats, and exploitation.

A few of Trump's natal positions are listed around the chart such as his 10th house Uranus @17Gemini conjoining the 9:00 am LMT Moon position in 1st house. As you know, the Sabian Symbol for Trump's natal Uranus ('Mr. Chaos'; chaos is 'his thing') is "Two Chinese Men Talking Chinese in a Western Crowd," a telling reference for Trump and for DB if this is its Lunar degree or otherwise linked to its chart. Also penned on is Trump's grand-scheme-fraud-inflationary trio of Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter (5--18 Libra) which opposes DB's natal Neptune 18Aries. Neptune opposing Jupiter suggests potentials for unfulfilled promises, weak follow-through, suspicious motives, deception, illusions, fraud, conniving and scheming, lack of perspective, inflation, and--wait for it--collusion (Pelletier).

Actually, today Newsweek reports that Trump may have committed bank fraud and I assert that the bank's horoscope agrees with such a distinct possibility. But never fear for Congress plans to investigate.

Now on March 10, 1870, the Moon ranged from 12Gem34 to 24Gem55 (conjunct Trump's 2015 POTUS bid announcement New Moon @25Gemini and near his natal Sun @23Gemini); the Sun ranged from 19Pis12 to 20Pis12--conjunct Mars in shady, secretive Pisces. Therefore, let's consider a few notes on the bank's insubstantial Water-Air Sun-Moon blend of conscious and unconscious energies:

Sun Pisces-Moon Gemini suggests a bank founded on hopes, plans, and schemes with not a lot of confidence but an abundance of talking. It can be fickle, vacillating, lacking in stability, self-doubting, and uncommitted in relationships. However, there are potentials for diplomacy and quick thinking yet a tendency toward an ever-changing morality may be in evidence--sympatico with the morally deficient Mr. Trump. Quite a frothy team aren't they?

Looking ahead to the 2020 Presidential Election, Rep. Adam Schiff warns that the election is enormously vulnerable to hacking and foreign influence. Who in America actually needs such a warning yours truly isn't certain but there it is. Election rigging and gerrymandering are par for the GOP course, too, since their anti-American policies can't win over a majority of voters to their austerity-for-you-extreme-wealth-for-me agenda.

And when we check the 2020 Election Day Horoscope we find that November 3, 2020 falls under the rays of a 4 North Saros Series solar eclipse with background themes of illusions, blocks, separations, and misjudgments so little if any comfort there. In addition, the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction sits at the natal Vertex of Donald Trump and with his natal Saturn of authority (watery and emotionally based in Cancer!) opposite. Transit Saturn, strong in his own sign and planet of control, restriction, fear, and karma has moved on to 26 Capricorn where he sits atop our Inauguration horoscope/s at Midheaven (26Cap+), The Goal.

Last but not least today we should consider 'voting Mercury', planet of communications, casting ballots and making decisions (and judgments whether clear or erroneous). At 12:49 pm, Mercury stations @25Lib53 emphasizing the importance of our election decisions on that day (and the cheats and Mercurial tricksters who divert election results). Plus, transit Mercury has recently sped through Trump's natal 2nd hou$e trio of Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter (5 to 18 Libra). It's early days yet (March 13 2019 as I type) but one must assume that information, leaks, and reports will have concerned Trump's inflated-inflationary Jupiter-Neptune conjunction of grand schemes and fraud--with wounding-wounded Chiron of blind spots snugged within its ballooning midst.

Of course with US natal Pluto @27Cap33, We The People are hindered (my opinion!) by the the fact that Trump's natal Venus in Cancer permanently opposes US natal Pluto on financial levels in particular and this, in part, describes the extreme intensity of his relationship with America and the American people, plus, it reveals the continual, ruthless power struggles he is determined to 'win' at anyone's expense but his own. The Venus-Pluto pair also contains potentials for organized crime, extreme wealth hidden away, and breakdowns in the social fabric (Munkasey) - breakdowns that are intended by Republicans and their enablers every time they attempt to cut our social safety net programs.

Now we may wonder if Election Day 2020 planets look favorable for Donald Trump and some do (ex: Moon in Gemini approaches his Uranus-NN-Sun conjunction--Moon = the public, in mutable Gemini = changeable moods and minds--yet the Gemini Moon opposes his Sagittarius Moon and suggests some voters' attraction to his duplicitous Gemini personality and chaotic Uranian style of 'ruling'). And yes, there is also negativity in the Election Day 2020 horoscope/s for those who care to look so if Trump is still around by Election Day 2020, as most agree he will be, he will continue to be a major, jarring force which must be reckoned with - although he may need all the underhanded cheating tactics his supporters are willing to provide if he expects to 'win' the election against what must be a tsunami of Democratic and Independent voters turning up at the polls determined to vote Trump out.

A synastry grid comparing the natal planets of Donald Trump with America's natal planets is replete with potentials for tension, anger, scandals, notoriety, confusion, misunderstandings, deception, and undermining by and of allies--but also an attraction, plus the possibility of Chirotic healing, or at least a soothing, of our society's past hurts which I suspect refers primarily to his constant opening of America's oldest wound and flaw, racism, and to how his rhetoric and policies continue the class divide that began in ye olde Jamestown Colony centuries ago. Instead he chooses to stir up trouble on these issues, capitalizes on them, and shoves an even wider wedge between us in any way he can. For everyone knows that 'divide and conquer' tactics always work against the American people.

And as you know, his nibs is an anything-to-gain-power demagogue full of emotional turmoil and suffers with a bottomless pit of ego needs that can never be fully satisfied. We can see Trump's natal Moon-South-Node conjunction as basic evidence of his extreme emotional deprivation via estrangement from Mother, an estrangement the adult Donald can't seem to recover from and I suppose most of us never could whose Mother went missing in some way.

So in this post I shall attempt to provide brief notes on some of the main aspects between Trump's and our national planets but without US natal ASC and MC - except for two as-ifs because they seem to apply - 'DT Neptune conjoins US natal MC' (00Lib47) and 'DT Pluto trines US ASC' - since a variety of timings are used for the US natal chart (July 4, 1776) which gives differing chart angles. Here I'm using a 5:09 pm LMT US chart with 12Sag08 rising but US planets remain in basically the same positions no matter which hour is used on that date with the natal Moon remaining in Aquarius.

Sept 27, 2018: Dr. Christine Ford vs Brett Kavanaugh?

A few days ago I published the September 24, 2018 horoscope as a tentative chart for Dr. Christine Ford's testimony on Capitol Hill to the Judiciary Committee against SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh whose natal planets are penned around the September 24th chart. There we can see that transit Jupiter in Scorpio currently conjoins the Judge's natal Neptune in Scorpio (pretense; illusion; scandal; fanaticism; paranoia; grand ideas) while opposing his natal Jupiter in Taurus (discontent with wealth and achievement; overblown efforts; discouraging comparisons; no one is impressed--J. Skalka).

So I'm feeling a bit fussy about doing another chart but for you I'll post here the September 24, 2018 horoscope set for Capitol Hill and 10:00 am edt when Professor Christine Blasey Ford is allegedly scheduled to testify. If at 10:00 am edt, Venus in Scorpio rises precisely, as you see. Sabian Symbols would be appropriate about now if you know of any. There's a rather rare Rosetta pattern between Saturn in 2nd, Moon and Uranus in 6th, Sun in 11th, and North Node ('NN') in 9th house. Does Saturn in earthy Capricorn trining the Moon-Uranus conjunction in early Taurus represent senators or possibly lawyers who support the woman/women's issues? Then Republicans are not indicated I guess. The Sun-NN sextile on one side of the Rosetta (marked in blue dotted lines) denotes the Kavanaugh side of the equation with NN in Leo, sign of leadership, lawyers, and suggesting legal societies or other types of organizations Kavanaugh has joined. In his hometown of Washington DC, he's part of the elite with the Federalist Society behind him.

Ascendant and Venus '10Scorpio': "A Fellowship Supper"...positive expression: an effective channeling of personal aspirations into the common place grooves of a shared experience; negative expression: a surrender of individual distinction and exaltation of naive animality." (The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Dr. Marc Edmund Jones).

The Illumination Point of 10Scorpio is '10Taurus': "A Red Cross Nurse"...positive expression: a complete dedication of the self to the worthwhile and enduring projects through which it can lose all sense of separativeness; negative expression: a superficial pretense of humanitarianism in order to gain transient importance."

Importance he wants! Mr. Kavanaugh's first natal planet to rise in the above chart is his Neptune @19Scorpio with transit Jupiter just passed beyond it yet retained is his natal Jupiter-Neptune opposition of "lost objectivity" (Oken) which I believe he is being accused of in these stormy confirmation proceedings. And as you know, Jupiter-Neptune can be inspiring energy but this is Politics so together I'll have to say that they make a frothy and scheming pair, often to the point of fraud. We can also identify a midpoint picture between rising Venus @9Sco36 and Jupiter @21Sco26 with his natal Neptune at apex and we get potentials for negligence; lack of correct behavior; falsehood; hopelessness; a destructive relationship (Ebertin). Any, all, or none may apply.

Plus, Nicholas Devore says that '19Scorpio' (which has a centuries' long reputation for being an evil degree) is "the crucial point in the war between the Ego and the Supreme Will" though I doubt Devore refers to the US Supreme Court which happens to be 229 years old this very day (September 24, 1789). Did you get it anything?

Here's an excerpt concerning Rosetta patterns that I posted a while back:

Well, all the planets involved have both 'enemies' and 'allies' with the configuration containing energies that 'go around in circles' (similar to the closed circuit of energies contained in a Grand Trine). Eggs, a Dossier, Sean Spicer and The Briefing

April 21, 2018: Coming Soon to a bargain book bin or a Best Seller List near you, a new book The Briefing by former White House Press Secretary for Jupiterian Donald Trump, Sean Spicer who 'resigned' his position on July 2, 2017. Is it significant that Mr. Spicer was born September 23, 1971 during the three Great Conjunctions of broadcasting Jupiter and media/propaganda planet Neptune?

Their conjunctions in 1971 occurred in the 00-to-3-degree range of Sagittarius, expansive Jupiter's own sign, and as you know, the planetary pair suggests various potentials (any, all, or none) such as: speculation, get-rich-quick schemes, bubbles and busts, nebulous finances or fraud, scandal and instability, wrong diagnoses, idealism, mysticism, visions, fantasies and dreams, Utopian illusions, religious or mystical beliefs, occultism, great hopes, evasion, seduction, overdone generosity, rich feelings, compassion, subtlety, trickiness, gain without effort, deception via dogma, ineffective persuasion, make-believe, foolish or unfounded legal situations, hypocrisy as a form of internal policy, neglected ethics, senseless doctrines, acceptance of pretenses, ethics and morals based on favors and pay-offs, degradation within a justice system, self-analysis, and--political conflicts (Munkasey; Ebertin).

In fact, his (noon) horoscope shows a line-up of Mercury (17Virgo), Pluto, Sun, Venus (7libra), and Uranus (13Libra), Trump's guiding planet of chaos and disruption.

Sun-Pluto energies combined hints at potentials such as: influences by criminal organizations, excessive amounts of armed strength, control by secret police, toxic conditions, policy reforms, threats against and control of dissent, corruption which wastes resources, determination to achieve goals, intense emotions, domination of others, an obsessive disposition, striving for power, martyrdom, fanatical tendencies, and/or plutocracy. Also notable is that Spicer's Sun-Pluto conjunction contains a third participant, 'piercing' asteroid Eros which adds intensity and passion to his plutonian conjunction. Eros was discovered in 1898 by DeWitt, and in Orphism was 'born of the cosmic egg produced by Night' (Encyclopedia of Astrology, DeVore).

Have you ever thought it esoterically symbolic that the presidential office in the White House is the egg-shaped, Venusian 'Oval Office'?!? Well, for about the first 6 months of the Trump administration, Sean Spicer was spokesperson for the Oval Office.

Now legendary astrologer Nicholas DeVore refers to the 'cosmic egg' but the ancient symbol has other names, Orphic Egg or World Egg being two of them. As for Sean Spicer's book The Briefing, I don't know how revealing the book or his PR tour interviews will be but his publishing effort actually tallies with the themes of his Prenatal Solar Eclipse in the 9 New South Saros Series: bringing to the surface issues concerning paperwork or communications; a worrying piece of news; health concerns; or, matters concerning loved ones may be involved (paraphrasing Brady's Predictive Astrology but with my bold and italics for the sake of clarity.)

Well, perhaps we'll discover a clue in this April 16, 2018 Fox News segment with the book's author Spicer: Comey's account of dossier briefing is misleading.

NYSE Buttonwood Chart 1792 and Trump vs Amazon

April 5, 2018: Thanks to the Buttonwood Agreement on the morning of May 17, 1792, 24 stock brokers and merchants formed what we now 'lovingly' call the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and what I tend to call the Wall Street Casino (you take your chances and the game is rigged). However, this was not the first American stock exchange for the Philadelphia Stock Exchange had formed two years prior.

This week with Mercury retrograde until April 15, 2018, I've been culling through charts, notebooks, and scribbled notes in an attempt to create order out of my own personal chaos and have just discovered a decrepit little notebook that includes the founding data of the Buttonwood Agreement including the time: 7:52 am. This May 17, 1792 horoscope had been in my files for years until it and hundreds of other astrology charts were lost in a pc crash a few years ago. Since then I have been using a NYSE chart set for May 11, 1869, the after-war Re-oranization horoscope so I'm glad to add the 1792 horoscope back to my files. Unfortunately, I have no record of how the hour was ascertained (historical record perhaps?) but here's the chart for future reference:

NYSE 2018: Ups-n-Downs Volatility

Previous posts on such topics include: wealth-hoarder Pluto's upcoming shift as Astrologer Warns of Pluto Crossing October 31, 2018 and Natal YOD of the NYSE activated by Trading Halt which occurred on July 8, 2015 for 3 hours 32 minutes. Post details include a YOD crisis pattern which may, or may not as it turns out, point toward restrictive, law-abiding Saturn. If not, or if I explained chart factors badly, it's a mea culpa.

Jupiter-Neptune: Speculation, Bubbles, and Bursts

However, the Buttonwood natal chart of 1792 seen above does contain a crisis-turning-point-special-task YOD pattern of sorts involving Mercury-MC = Jupiter Rx with suggestions of recognition, publicity, success, good fortune, and an optimistic outlook, a phrase we've occasionally heard applied to the stock market through the years. And since moneybags Jupiter conjoins fraudulent dreamer Neptune in the 1792 chart (in Venus-ruled Libra) we may wish to include Neptune as apex of Mercury-MC as well with its varying tendencies toward fantastic notions, disappointments, a 'can't lose' position, lax or self-deceptive practices, and/or confused judgments (Ebertin-Munkasey-Tyl midpoint pictures combined).

Also note that 1792 Venus, ruler of evaluations, valuables, and small amounts of money, recently returned to her natal degree of 5Tau23 on April 4, 2018 beginning a new cycle of Venusian activities. In the Venus Return 2018 chart, Venus trines the current (now separating) Mars-Saturn conjunction which perfected @8Cap57 on April 2, 2018.

Trump Tanks Stock Market 2018 Messes with Amazon: Just Like Putin Would Do!

If only Russia's Vladimir Putin had an operative inside the US to do his bidding! Someone highly positioned inside the US government so that Nikita Khrushchev's prognostication in 1956 that Russia would one day "bury" America because history was on Russia's side could come true!

Plus, Putin may harbor more than a little sense of 'payback' due to his humiliation at the Disintegration of the Soviet Union on December 25, 1991 when the hammer (Mars) and sickle (Saturn) flag over the Kremlin was lowered for the last time. Last time? Promise? Well, given Trump's idolatry of Putin and Donnie's preference for dictator-style governing, I'm not convinced the Soviet Union flag won't fly again, are you? Perhaps over the White House with Trump the Tool in charge--or dismissed? Thing is, revenge is sweet for some like Trump and Putin and in 1991 the US should not have chortled over the demise of the Soviet Union into 15 separate countries as being proof of a "triumph of democracy over totalitarianism" and "capitalism over socialism." It's always a bad idea to poke The Bear and we see totalitarian governments now rising all over the globe as Earth heats up. The same correlation has occurred in the past and history does tend to rhyme, on one side's particular side or the other.

Also it's doubtful that global leaders of the transnational variety intend for America to be leader of their next 'new world order' when it's fully implemented. Some say the leadership role will be China's or Russia's, or on an alternating basis but without the US whose 'new order' reign was always intended to last from 1776 to 2025 or so. Perhaps we need to ask high-level Freemasons about that little rumor--not that they would spill those particular beans before they're fully boiled. Anyway, the Big Picture is in process now (1993 Uranus-Neptune @18Cap = transit Pluto: the big picture must be followed, very little option to do otherwise (Tyl); 18Capricorn = "The Union Jack Flies Over a British Warship": POLITICAL POWER...negative expression: smug or strong-armed paternalism' and police power to "maintain the social order" (Rudhyar). Or is that actually a hammer and sickle flag?

Okay, maybe Trump's current campaign against Amazon and Jeff Bezos doesn't rise to such a traitorous level but when added to other curiosities between Trump and Putin it satisfies yours truly as part of a Russian 'collapse America campaign' which seems to involve the themes of the The Tower Solar Eclipse of August 11, 2018 @19Leo which is the Prenatal Solar Eclipse of the 2018 Midterm Elections (another meddling can of worms).

Is it curious that Jeff Bezos built Amazon Tower, a 524-foot structure which opened on December 14, 2015 in Seattle, WA where he founded Amazon on July 5, 1994? Is the Amazon Tower in Trump's grumbling cross hairs? We shall see, as they say. But after all, how dare the richest man in the world build a Tower as if he's a Donald Trump, right? Because vengeful Mars-rising Trump, master of retaliation, might grouse just this way over Mr. Bezos and his accomplishments which 'tower' over Trump's--until he took over the Oval Office from which he can take revenge.

As for Wall Street, I'll add one final note to this rambling post: that the 1792 NYSE horoscope when progressed shows that a Progressed (SP) Full Moon perfected @7Can25 (conjunct Trump's natal Mercury @8Cancer, planet of trades, commerce, thought processes, tricks, and tweets) on March 10, 2017 and conjoined its SP Saturn-North-Node midpoint which provides some interesting potentials including: foreign enterprises offer assistance; a country in inner turmoil (Munkasey), both of which sound correct to me, if not to you, dearest of readers!

The Prenatal Eclipse of the MLK Assassination

The tragic and cruel Assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr on April 4, 1968 at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee 'killed the man but not The Dream'. Here is a link to his I Have a Dream speech delivered on August 28, 1963 during the March on Washington For Jobs and Freedom--for Civil and Economic Rights of African-Americans. Obviously, the power elite of DC and elsewhere did not appreciate Dr. King's rising popularity and that of his causes which threatened their leadership and promised to elevate opposition to the Vietnam War and combine it with the Civil Rights Movement.

Resident of the Oval Office in April 1968 (until Nixon was elected) was Lyndon Baines Johnson who some assert was behind the JFK assassination and if so, LBJ would have had no compunction about ordering the death of MLK (and RFK), would he? Now as an American, I loathe mentioning such possibilities but there it is. Besides, most everyone knows that Lyndon Johnson was a ruthless politician who vehemently hated the Kennedys. 6 North: the Prenatal Solar Eclipse of the MLK and RFK Assassinations

As you know, 'cosmic blinks'--eclipses--are known as 'wild cards' of the Universe for they tend to express erratic and disruptive Uranian energies in table-turning, change-of-direction ways. The operative Solar Eclipse which manifested on March 28, 1968 @8Aries can be credited with these murderous political crimes via eclipse themes which may not seem particularly ruthless until we consider the real world events that took place under 6 North's background influence, plus, the political vibes of the era which, then as now, do not include the sharing of power and control. And in 1968, the last vibes of the rebellious, daring Uranus-Pluto conjunction/s of the mid-1960s remained in force though waning. Also Uranus-Pluto is the 'collapse of the old order, construction of the new' pair of generational planets (Ebertin) and 'success at any cost' implications included the removal of all obstacles to that success. We may also wish to note that the 1968 eclipse @8Aries conjoined and thus triggered the natal Sun-Mars midpoint of Dr. King while opposing his difficult Saturn-Pluto midpoint in Libra. Sun-Mars = vitality, vigor, activity; Saturn-Pluto = cruelty and violence.

Themes of 6 North: relationship to authority figures, the need to take control and responsibility, accepting commitments due to another person's illness or unreliability (Brady). So if we extend themes of 'illness' and 'unreliability' to matters of death and the need to 'take control' of the US (or, remove control from Reverend King and a potential President Robert Kennedy) someone chose to give the American people the assassinations of MLK and RFK.

A Solar Eclipse in the 6 North Saros Series last manifested on April 19, 2004 @30Aries and will next occur on April 30, 2022 @10Taurus. The initial 6 North eclipse perfected on May 15, 850 (OS) @27Tau55. The only Great Conjunction to perfect in 2022 is between the bubbly duo of speculation and schemes Jupiter and Neptune on April 12, 2022 @23Pis59--Pisces, the sign ruled by boundary-breaking Jupiter and co-ruled by nebulous, undermining, eroding Neptune. Which reminds me--in April 1968, transit Neptune conjoined US natal Pluto in Capricorn, a planetary timer of erosion of power and the rise of a public figure with a religious message.

And as you'll see, transit Chiron (the wound, the wounded healer; the priest or reverend) was at the Aries Point (00:25) which, 50 years hence, will again be the case for the Centaur 3 times upcoming on April 17, 2018, September 25, 2018, and February 18, 2019.

Predatory Capitalism Supports the GOP's Corporate Tax Cut Bill

Dec 2, 2017: this morning "shortly before 2 am ET" (Reuters News), Republicans passed their version of the Tax Cut Bill (51--49) with only Republican Senator Bob Corker voting Nay. No Democrat voted for this historic monstrosity weighted on the side of the billionaire/corporate classes. Of course, the Senate version must be reconciled with the House version before Mr. Trump can sign the bill into law, he hopes before or by Christmas.

The horoscope for December 2, 2017 shortly before 2 am ET presents an interesting picture. The chart I'm looking at is set for 1:48 am ET because it places US natal Jupiter (5Can56) at Midheaven, the Goal Point of the chart (which, without an exact time, is a symbolic chart of the event). Now as you know, our national Jupiter @6Cancer = "Game Birds Feathering Their Nests" which fits Congress perfectly then as now, don't you agree?

Adriano Carelli gives '6Cancer' a symbol of: "Alcibiades, walking through Athens with his famous dog, whose 'most beautiful red tail' he has cut" and says it's a degree of "a spendthrift, devoid of practical sense." Carelli adds that having luck, "he will reach what he has set his heart upon and go on throwing money out the window with the utmost composure, certain that he will somehow manage to earn more," and that "His recklessness might go so far as to bring about his own ruin." (Note that Carelli's book The 360 Degrees of the Zodiac has the name Alcidiades--correct spelling is Alcibiades.)

Rising at 1:48 am is 5Lib05 which makes money-and-values planet Venus the chart-ruler (and vote-ruler) yet Venus @1Sag07 in 2nd house of Money and Values makes no major applying aspects to other planets. But there is a minor semi-square from Venus to powerful wealth-hoarding saboteur, Pluto and The Creepy One is inconjunct and in karmic Nodal Degree with the North Node (17Cap50 to 17Leo28). The Venus-Pluto contact hints at wastefulness which supports the protective Water Grand Trine between Jupiter, Neptune, and US natal Jupiter at MC (1:48 am ET). A Water Grand Trine appreciates emotional enrichment and material prosperity (Tierney). No doubt on the emotional plane, Senate Republicans are cats with the cream this morning! Ef the national debt and deficit!

So as you know, year 2009 was imprinted with the current Jupiter-Neptune cycle beginning with three conjunctions between Jupiter and Neptune, the speculator-wastrel pair of bubbly finances, unrealistic dreams, and fortune-hunters. All three conjunctions landed on America's natal Aquarian Moon (We The People) and denoted potentials for losing oneself in plans; a desire to dream; little sense of reality; becoming involved in speculation; instability; wastefulness (Ebertin). Note that the Jupiter-Neptune cycle lasts approximately 13 years so we're stuck with its affect on We The People's Moon until the planets meet again--once--on April 12, 2022 @23Pis59 (during a US Neptune opposition!)

Yet even without US natal Jupiter and this chart's MC forming a Grand Trine, transit Jupiter and Neptune do trine one another in the chart, an aspect suggesting efforts that stimulate social programs and benefit the needy--the very opposite of what the GOP Tax Cut Bill intends! However, karma will supply the GOP's 'reaping what was sown' results--if not now, then in future years--perhaps in 2018 and 2020 elections, and/or when the alleged tax breaks for the middle class expire and all chaos breaks loose financially and in the realms of healthcare.

Mercury, ruling 9th and 12th houses in this chart and planet of votes, bills, and negotiations, is @29Sag12 ('30Sag' = "The Pope Blessing the Faithful"). Is the Vatican involved?? As you know, a 29th degree is unstable and very eager to move into the next sign--here, into Saturn-ruled Capricorn, sign of government, law, and business.

A Sun-Neptune Square and Pluto-Chiron Exploitation

Squared by fraudster Neptune (11Pis29), karmic planet of the media and the masses, the (POTUS-related) Sun @10Sag16 is in 3rd house of Communications and its Sabian Symbol for '11Sag' is curious: "The Lamp of Physical Enlightenment at the Left Temple"...keyword: RECONCILIATION which what this senate bill is headed for. And as anyone can see, the US Capitol Building is nothing if not a Masonic temple. Plus, '11Sag' is the conjunction degree of the last meet-up of Pluto and Chiron (conjunct US natal Ascendant), one of the major Plutocracy pairs; their last conjunction occurred December 30, 1999 and thus helped usher in the New Millennium via the pair's tendencies toward oppression, predatory exploitation, primal violence, racism and other -isms (exs: predatory Capitalism, Socialism). And of course, the August 11, 1999 Solar Eclipse in the 1 North Saros Series (the series we're under now with The Great American Eclipse of August 2017 @29Leo) 'let go the winds of war' as the Book of Revelation predicted. Also note that under the vibes of a 1 North solar eclipse, "information is distorted and possibly false" and events "put pressure on relationships" (Brady) as we see with Robert Mueller's Russia investigation into the shady foreign affairs of Donald Trump and his crew.

Mars Opposite Uranus Fading But Still Influential

We should also mention that rising in 1st house is brash Mars @25Lib32, fresh from his exact opposition to anarchist-zealot Uranus @24Ari58 Rx in the 7th house of Partnerships. This opposition of danger and conflict was discussed in a recent related post, Mars oppo Uranus as GOP forces Tax Cut Bill. Perhaps Mars in the 1:48 am chart represents Republican Senator Bob Corker who did not vote for the GOP bill that will disrupt (Uranus) many areas of our society and raise our nation's debt and deficit to unprecedented levels, thereby sabotaging America.

Money-Bags Jupiter in Big Business Scorpio, Sign of Betrayal

Transit Jupiter, planet of bankers, donors, financiers, politicians, military generals, and preachers is in 2nd house of Money and Values @11Sco19 and approaches the upcoming Jupiter Return of Ronald Reagan under whose watch the last major overhaul of US taxes took place. The first of three conjunctions of transit Jupiter to Reagan's natal Jupiter position occurs December 14, 2017 with its 'tax cuts for corporations stimulates job growth' fallacy now being re-used by Capitol Hill Republicans in spite of the fact that corporate tax cuts do not inspire corporations to re-invest in US workers and the economy. Having been burned before, this time a majority of Americans are not buying into the tiresome GOP-touted job-creation fallacy that Reagan lifted from Hoover times of the 1920s. Since I wasn't planning to write anything today I'll simply post natal charts as a bi-wheel of Wikileaks' Julian Assange (birth time known, "From him") and alt-righter Steve Bannon of Trump and Breitbart fame to note the connections and links between their natal planets because, as you've heard...

Julian Assange confirms Wikileaks was approached by data firm working with Trump campaign last November but says their "approach" was rejected and Hillary Clinton's 33,000 emails were not released by Mr. Assange as previously threatened/promised. Notice that Mr. Bannon's name is left out of the headline of this report published by the Chicago Tribune yet he's been reported as being the VP of 'data firm' Cambridge Analytica at the time.

Of course, Mr. Bannon's Moon position ('noon') and Angles are not for certain with no birth time known so use with caution if at all. However, we do know that: born November 27, 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia, Bannon's natal Moon ranged from 22Leo03 (the worst foot forward degree, or, 'own worst enemy') to 4Vir10, the degree and minute of America's Secondary Progressed Full Moon in December 2008. As you see, this SP Full Moon timed the outer limit that the US could reach into the world (Crash 2008) and we all should have learned that lesson of cautious Saturnian limitation then. Because going beyond natural limits leads to reap-what's-been-sown karma, as universal natural law dictates.

Actually, I believe a majority of We The People did learn the lesson--that we as a nation were overextended on many levels but like kittens in string, we were shocked by the level of corruption in government, banking, and other areas of civilization that were starkly revealed by the end of 2008 and cast a degrading and harsh light upon American society as a Collective. But the Jupiter-Neptune duo isn't concerned with observing natural limits, in fact, just the opposite--and including political conflicts, according to Reinhold Ebertin.

And perhaps it will be enlightening if not curiously revealing when the 'We The People' Solar Eclipse manifests on February 15, 2018 and conjoins US natal Moon which was target planet of the Great Conjunctions of Jupiter and Neptune. The planetary pair perfected three times all through 2009--conjunct US natal Moon, thereby forcing a seductive, dreamy, bubbly unreality into the weaker crevices of our society and providing cover for much of the Obama administration's activities, 'rock star' as they may have seemed.

In the Realms of Jupiter: Sean Spicer

Well, by now you've heard that Sean Spicer resigned on Friday (7.21.17) from his position as White House Press Secretary due to Trump's hiring of Anthony "The Mooch" Scaramucci as White House Communications Director. Today in a morning interview, Mr. Scaramucci is ready to elevate Breitbart, a newsy right-wing propaganda source that Mr. Spicer had 'trouble' with. (And no, Tony Soprano was not available!)

Now in honor of his attempts to harness the worst job in Washington, let's take a brief yet fond look at Sean Spicer's departing natal Jupiter:

Sean Spicer was born September 23, 1971 during the three Great Conjunction/s of Jupiter and Neptune (exact on February 1 @2Sag47, May 22 @1Sag44, and September 16 @00Sag37). As you see, Baby Spicer joined the earthly flux one week after the third conjunction--his Jupiter @1Sag43 and Neptune @00Sag46 with the bubbly duo's vibes of religion, speculation, inflation, visions, dream world living, scandals, and political conflicts.

Actually, other conjunctions were in effect on his day of birth--a Sun-Pluto conjunction, both @29Virgo unless he was born around 1:00 pm when the Sun reached 00Libra, a World Point of Fame and Recognition. Sun-Pluto folk have powerful egos, like to be known as 'a power to be reckoned with' (Pelletier) and will use pressure tactics and direct confrontation against those who stand in their way--this is a predator combination of energies.

(My thought is that his Sun-Pluto did not 'play well' in the WH press room in spite of boss Trump's original assumption that it would. Note that Spicer's Sun-Pluto midpoint = the midpoint of tech savvy, quick thinking Mercury-Uranus with his communicating Mercury in its own sign of Virgo, the critic and dedicated worker with specialized skills.)

Natal Venus and Uranus in Libra are in wide conjunction, 6-degree orb) but applying and possibly inspiring sudden breaks in relationships, while feisty Mars links to the North Node of public contact @13Aquarius+ which suggests contentious encounters (and press briefings, as it turns out).

Broadcaster Jupiter Happy in Its Own Sign of Sagittarius

As for Spicer's natal Jupiter, the 'star of this show', the Jolly One is well connected to the other planetary energies in the chart which provides Jupiterian uplift and judgment abilities to the other natal planets: Sun sextile Jupiter (1A45; fragile self-confidence), Jupiter sextile Pluto (2S09; self-sabotage through rigid opinions), and here's a bit of a clanker: Jupiter opposite Saturn (4A46) with its tendency to seek 'yes people' in order to bolster a shaky sense of self-esteem. Mr. Trump has the same approval-seeking tendency with a natal trio of Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter conjoined in his 2nd house of Self-Esteem and Values but things didn't work out very well between them.

Well, I naturally want to wish Mr. Spicer a better life once he escapes the White House (in August?) although I will say that if their problems are due to the two Jupiter-Neptune bullsh**ters being too much alike, then We the People must accept the fact that perhaps their bromance just wasn't meant to be!

America's Mercury-Pluto, plus, Our Pilgrim Fathers

And if we look to America's natal planets concerning such sneaky topics we instantly find our national Mercury (the mental plane; thought processes; communication; commerce and sales) @25Cancer ("A Man Wrapped in an invisible Mantle of Power") opposed by powerful puppet master Pluto in the governmental, legal, and business sign of *Capricorn with Pluto the planet of Psychology, manipulation, surveillance, control, transformation, and obsession. Pluto's out-of-bounds condition on July 4, 1776 only suggests a more hidden and sinister flavor lurking within our society and hints at secret societies, invisible control, and subversion of government into the picture.

Campion) for the Pilgrim Fathers (chart #362): December 21, 1620 6:00 am LMT Plymouth Massachusetts with Winter Solstice Sun @00Cap09 and Moon @2Sag11. There are two conjunctions in force and combining their strengths: Mars-Neptune in mid-Libra and Jupiter-Pluto both @11Taurus+ Rx. My guess is that the Mars-Neptune pair shows their deep motivation and the energy to cross the sea and actions inspired by spiritual beliefs while Jupiter-Pluto suggests religious fervor but also an enormous determination toward success, the financing of the adventure, a desire to exploit resources and expand their wealth and possessions (plutocrats), and an obsession to control everyone around them...lest someone be caught having fun while avoiding work.

July 10, 2017 Update: note that the year 2009 timed the congressionally mandated switch from analog to digital which was thus cosmically imprinted by the Great Conjunction/s of Jupiter and Neptune. Since then, subliminal symbols and images can be more easily slipped in on us. This, from a Jude's Threshold post:

2017: Transit Neptune Veils US Progressed Sun in Pisces

With December 24, 2008 marking *America's Secondary Progressed (SP) Full Moon @4Vir10 (SP Sun 4Pis10), transit Neptune in Pisces has been nipping at the heels of our nation's SP Sun, an astrological significator for the evolved position of the role of US president. As you know, US natal Sun began at 13Cancer in 1776 conjunct starry Sirius, the pagan goddess star; from 13Cancer US Sun has now progressed/evolved to 12Pisces+.

US SP Sun and transit Neptune @13Pisces: "A Sword in a Museum: EXAMPLE...positive expression: personal power in living common ideals; negative: ridiculous pretense of epic merit." - Jones; this symbol relates to Mr. Trump's idolatry of populist president Andrew Jackson but that must be a post for another day.

In Astrology, the SP Full Moon denotes how far one can 'rise' in the world at that time--a person's or an entity's limits--and America reached such a culmination stage at the end of 2008 with the massive heist of our National Treasury (overseen by Bush and Cheney and passed on to Barack Obama whose entire presidency bares the imprint of the Great Conjunction/s of speculation-inflationary pair Jupiter and Neptune, three times through 2009; the world remains under that planetary influence until the Great Conjunctions of 2020). During the Great Heist, financial resources of We the People were also spirited away and the culprits were then rewarded by US taxpayers for the privilege of being bamboozled by Wall Street bankers and traders. Well, the Virgo-Pisces polarity is the victim-savior axis, after all.

Neptune-to-Sun Casts Shade Upon US Leadership

So what can be expected when Neptune veils the Sun in the shady, delusional, secretive, confused and confusing sign of Pisces? Certainly Neptune in Pisces expands the potential for paranoia within the Collective and we've definitely experienced that--and Mr. Trump is no exception to the phenomenon. Naturally, Infowars' and FOX News' conspiracy theories come to mind, the wilder the better for a paranoid Mr. Trump to tweet out across the globe like a Neptunian-Piscean infection. Desperate to be popular, how disgruntled (enraged!) he must be to find that a finagled White House tenure does not guarantee him high approval ratings--he actually has to perform well as president, the representative of We the People!

So now in 2017, the US SP Sun (POTUS) has reached 12Pisces+ and transit Neptune has continued floating on or nearby that degree since temporarily entering its own sign of Pisces in early April 2011, soon backing into Aquarius, then re-entering Pisces to stay in early February 2012--all on President Obama's watch but not yet veiling US SP Sun until, at the very end of March 2013, transit Neptune hit our SP Full Moon's Sun position of 4Pis10 (and again on February 1, 2014, thanks to Neptune's retrogradation). By that time, Mr. Obama's SP Sun had entered Libra--at the very top of America's natal chart, the very visible Goal Point of Career and Public Status.

Note that Mr Trump's SP Sun has now progressed into Virgo from Leo, beginning @22Gemini conjunct US natal Mars, the warrior planet--you know he wanted military tanks in his inauguration parade, right?! Even US SP Mars Rx @18Libra conjoins Mr. Trump's natal stationary direct Jupiter @17Lib27 which bodes ill for the expansion of war plans especially since his natal Neptune is near enough to call him a Jupiter-Neptune kind of speculator and wastrel--and Jupiter-Neptune is Obamacare's signature planets along with US natal Moon = 'involved in speculation; dreaminess; little sense of reality'--Ebertin.

So as we can see, US POTUS has been plagued by Neptune's eroding, undermining influence for years now and with fact-challenged Donald Trump in office, the public discourse has seen truth vs fiction and 'fake news' issues (aka, propaganda) balloon into the stratosphere, partially thanks to Mr. Trump's natal Mercury-Neptune square of distorted perceptions, falsehoods, fantasy, and paranoia. Leaked secrets (Pisces/Neptune) seep from the White House and undermine his personal integrity (Sun) as president, plus, fanaticism and illusions inspire fanciful notions as his qualification for leadership of the country is called into question. It's a confusing period for the prime focus of this Neptunian-Solar transit as goals that inspire his ego drive (which is the focus) fail to materialize if and when they are based on misguided or unrealistic notions.

Perhaps you agree that the misguided snatching of health care insurance away from millions of Americans via the (failed) GOP 'health care' legislation this last week may be considered part of the Neptunian-Solar picture for Republican congressional leadership and for the fact-challenged, egocentric Donald Trump, our POTUS of the moment.

For it's a hazy and unstable time when the Sun of leadership attempts to hide behind the illusions, falsehoods, and secrets of astrological Neptune!

Now let's close with the Thesis and Antithesis potentials in Politics and Business as given in Michael Munkasey's excellent book Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets; much of this particular example of the Hegelian Dialect may sound familiar:

Thesis: A leader with the ability to thrill the masses through visions of a great future (my italics); projection of the "good times"; an ability to respond to the needs of consumers by offering products based on popular concepts (like Trump Steaks or Trump University? puh! Or is Mr. Trump himself a 'product'? jc).

Antithesis: A leadership which goes to excess and exhausts itself on impractical schemes (like a wall on the entire US-Mexico border? jc); inflation which drains resources; budget deficits; drug problems; promises made but not backed up with substance or intention.
