May 9 2013 Solar Eclipse themes and offerings

Thursday May 9, 2013, a Solar Eclipse in the 15 South Saros Series

by Jude Cowell

As previously covered (horoscope shown), the money sign of Taurus, with its dark side of greed, stubbornness, and intolerance, hosts a Solar Eclipse this Thursday (May 9th, or 10th, depending on your location/time zone) @19Tau31. That's Taurus the Bull, of course, which brings in Wall Street implications along with the political.

The 15S last manifested in 1995 during the presidency of Bill Clinton and happens to be the Pre-Natal Eclipse Series of former president and Founding Father, Thomas Jefferson, so its themes affected his life at various times--about every 19 years. You may remember 1995 and 1996 as when the Republicans caused a government shutdown as they're threatening to do again in 2013. The GOP's theatrical 'Contract with America' was part of the mayhem as well, after which Republican candidates lost mightily in elections (as they should have--my vote was part of the reason they lost, the borry sastards!)

15S themes: 'release of tension as a lingering situation suddenly clears but with a sense of loss or grief that's more collective or group-related than personal' (paraphrasing Brady's Predictive Astrology.)

Curiously, the Harveys give an apt Image for Integration in Sun Sign-Moon Sign for the Eclipse's earthy Sun Tau-Moon Tau blend: "A loving teacher resolves an angry dispute." The purposefully induced turmoil in our plutocrat-controlled Congress perhaps? Pshaw! Yet resolution is just what I'd love to see for a change, wouldn't you? And progress rather than fighting the same old battles would be nice, too.

Well, it will be interesting to watch Politics for which of our many situations suddenly clears by or before November and whose tension is suddenly released!

Now if you wish to leave the awkward Saturnian realm of Politics a while (and who would blame you?) you simply cannot go wrong with two of my favorite astrologers who have May Solar Eclipse offerings for us: Julie Demboski's Eclipse Effect: Seeing a Splinter of the Shadow and Dipali Desai's Tangible Delights!

For more on Politics and the corporate ownership of what used to be the US Congress, don't miss ALEC Assembles Most Wanted List and Oklahomans Say ALEC Not Okay. Allowing an entity like ALEC to write America's laws and bills is exactly what the Founders feared so they must be doing a lot of rolling-over-in-graves by now.

Plus--did you hear that Sen. Ted Cruz challenged VP Joe Biden to a gun control debate? Sounds a bit like my recent assessment of Sen. Cruz as a crusader dueling with shadows!

April 30, 1803: Louisiana Purchase a done deal w Jupiter Rx in Virgo

Empiric Sorrows Developing Since 1803

by Jude Cowell

Tuesday April 30, 2013 marked the 210th anniversary of the signing of America's Louisiana Purchase, a Treaty signed in Paris, France, which doubled the size of the US and made us in 1803 the largest country in the world. Setting a bad precedent for future empire builders, President Thomas Jefferson put aside his doubts about the constitutionality of such an expansion (it wasn't and still isn't), aka, a land grab, in order to take advantage of what remains so far the greatest real estate bargain in history!

Subsequently, America's Jupiterian expansionist tendency was made irresistible by none other than Mr. Jefferson and became known as Manifest Destiny and has presented our nation with many difficulties through the years. Perhaps the ultimate problem we've encountered is Washington's unfortunate, over-reaching habit of playing the role of global cop, our domestic economy be dratted (though we're still expected to do our part and pay taxes to the IRS, our war-fund collector.)

As for the often-praised Louisiana Purchase, American Originals has the scoop, images, and a link to the Treaty's text if you wish to check out more details.

And because the whole endeavor is such a Jupiterian one, and since Jupiter left his shadow (of his Rx Station degree 16Gem22, of Oct 5, 2012) on April 25, 2013, you know I had to peek to discover where expansionist Jupiter was located on April 30, 1803--@26Vir46 and Rx, using the noon hour, Paris, FR.

Virgo is Jefferson's natal Jupiter sign though earlier by degree--still, it's a placement denoting a scientist, which he was. Being in the last decanate of Virgo, 1803 Jupiter had recently moved beyond US natal Neptune 22Vir25 but in Rx condition was headed back that way, so we may naturally consider the transit since the combination of Jupiter-Neptune is the speculator-spendthrift-wastrel-grand-schemer duo of energies, and this massive land deal of 828,000 square acres for $15 million falls neatly into such a category. Oui?

Transit Jupiter conjunct natal Neptune indicates a time of unprecedented development yet losing touch with reality is a possibility; actions may be grandly inspired or inspirational, and that it has been, but it can also lead to illusions, delusions, and fanaticism (which I also think it has.) Additionally, our representatives' journey across the ocean to France is also described by adventurous Jupiter conjoining urge-to-merge Neptune, ruler of The Seas.

And the subsequent problems created in 1803 by our imperial expansion? Why, there's a problematic YOD pattern of crisis, turning points, special tasks, and/or crossroads between the Sun (9Tau08, an Earth sign that can be rather greedy for more--in this case, land) and powerful hidden hand Pluto @8Pis04, the natal position on July 4, 1776 of US natal Ceres ("amber waves of grain") and of our natal Pluto-Chiron midpoint of take-what-you-want Plutocracy.

In Closing, a Powerful Midpoint Picture

Now the Sun-Pluto sextile at the base of the YOD points its two quincunxes (150 degrees) toward catalyst Uranus Rx @8Lib11 (in 3rd house at noon of April 30, 1803, Paris) so we have potential expressions of the trio's midpoint picture--any, all, or none may apply. Plus, 'Sun-Pluto' = 'striving for power; craving rulership; power of attainment; establishing and consolidating one's position as a leader'--Ebertin.) With this Purchase, I'm thinking of President Jefferson's opportunistic disregard for the US Constitution as I type, a bad habit, now ingrained, which Washington politicians can't seem to get enough of these days in their Quest:

Sun-Pluto = Uranus: carrying out fanatic reforms without regard for oneself (Ebertin); sudden changes; rebellion; new individual perspectives (Tyl.)

Ben Franklin on "a prime cause of the Revolution"

"The refusal of King George III to allow the Colonies to operate an honest money system which freed the ordinary man from the clutches of the money manipulators was probably the prime cause of the Revolution."

Benjamin Franklin

And with the early establishment of an English financial system of banks in America, Thomas Jefferson thought that Alexander Hamilton "cooked the books."

So other than book-cooking from the start, things have remained the same--murky--through the ensuing decades, haven't they? In fact, the US government is a corporation, not a government! If they had to prove themselves a government, they couldn't do so.

Here's a 43-minute video presentation, All Wars Are Bankers' Wars:

l

Click here to read the informative text that goes along with the video and includes details on Abraham Lincoln's greenbacks and Andrew Jackson's efforts to fight the re-chartering of a central bank, and visit Forbidden Knowledge TV for videos on a variety of interesting topics, financial and otherwise.

Plus, you may wish to check out a previous post on Andrew Jackson and his efforts to beat back his era's central banksters ("vipers.") The post includes a link to President Jackson's First Inaugural Address which sadly remains quite pertinent to the purposefully manufactured financial crises of our day.

Eclipsing the Reputation of Thomas Jefferson

Who Dares Out Mr. Jefferson?

by Jude Cowell

Seventeen days after the Solar Eclipse of November 13, 2012 manifested in Scorpio, an op-ed appeared in the New York Times, written by Paul Finkelman and titled, The Monster of Monticello.

With perhaps thousands of opinions expressed upon our American icon through the decades in books, articles, and essays (most of which cast a rosy halo 'round his presidential noggin), Mr. Finkelman's work is nowhere near as worshipful as most Americans have come to expect concerning the author of the Declaration of Independence, our 3rd president, and Founding Father. Mr. Jefferson's primary sin is, of course, the owning and selling of slaves as human chattel even though he had enthralled the world with his exalted rhetoric: All men are created equal.

This is a major personality flaw common in the 18th century and I personally and vehemently decry it as most people do even though some of the bloom may then be snatched from the iconic American rose. However, for balance we have Jon Meacham's view of Jefferson in his wildly popular book Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power which was published on November 13, 2012--the day of the Solar Eclipse!

Well, for some Americans an assessment of Jefferson's true character and dealings has been more realistic for some time yet I admit to a small sense of astonishment at the article's sentiments, linked above. And it seems synchronicitous to this astrologer that the November 13, 2012 Solar Eclipse @21Sco56 manifested upon the Midheaven of Mr. Jefferson (22:02), thus 'eclipsing' his public reputation (Midheaven = Public Standing in the World) with a serious critique of his flaws published in a globally recognized newspaper.

Plus, between Jefferson's Pluto and MC lurks his natal South Node @18Sco57, a Saturnian point of separation, and thus indicating a falling back on inherited power which on one level points to an early American economic system embedded with slave labor. Pluto-SN also denotes a generation when large social events such as war and revolution make personal regeneration a do-or-die proposition.

As you know, Solar and Lunar Eclipses are often called 'wild cards of the Universe' and they tend in sudden Uranian fashion to reveal and shed light upon squirmy hidden things. Even discarded character traits long thought to be cast aside or buried may come back to haunt us under the rays (or non-rays) of an eclipse especially when its degree contacts one's natal planets or chart angles, as here in Mr. Jefferson's case.

A Career of Power: Jefferson's Most Elevated Natal Planet: Pluto

You're correct: Pluto wasn't discovered until 1930 so America's Founding generation were most likely unaware of it--the discovery of revolutionary Uranus in 1781 was as far as their telescopes were aimed, I suppose. Yet modern astrologers often use outer planets to make current-day analyses. Is this fair to the dearly departed? Results say, yes, for the information revealed once outer planets are placed into Historical Horoscopes can be profoundly enlightening including the outer planets blended with the native's personal planets by way of aspects, midpoint pictures, etc.

And given the unconscious nature of both Neptune and Pluto, we may possibly glean deeper levels for understanding their psyches than their contemporaries could!

As for Mr. Jefferson's 9th house Pluto @15Sco49 Rx (the Eagle Point), regenerative toward philosophical and legal systems and profound insights into humanity's future, yes, but also implicated in the recent public 'outings' he's had concerning his treatment of slaves--beatings, breaking up families by selling as a punishment, not freeing but seven yet holding approximately six hundred during his lifetime, fathering babies with Sally Hemmings (his wife's half-sister, some say), etc.

So with his 9th house planet of power 6 degrees from Jefferson's natal MC, the most visible point in any chart, his plutonic activities may be partially discovered through powerful manipulator Pluto in Mars-Pluto-ruled Scorpio, sign of sex, domination, regeneration, and, as Mr. Jefferson's descendants are now rightfully able through DNA results to assert: reproduction.

Horoscope: Lunar Eclipse Nov 28 2012, plus Election Day 2012 Mercury

A Lunar Eclipse November 28, 2012 and Election Day 2012

by Jude Cowell

Above you see an image: the Horoscope of the upcoming Lunar Eclipse of Nov 28, 2012 @6Gem46 with an impaired Jupiter 11:54 Rx nearby (click to enlarge.)

It's an Hour of Jupiter, and Mars OOBs of the Earthly plane closely conjoins powerful, wealthy, string-puller Pluto @8Cap10--this pair of force and weaponry rise in Washington D.C. and as the eclipse perfects, enters the 12th H of Politics, Karma, Self-Undoing, and Large Institutions (wounded veterans in hospitals and soldier suicides come sadly to mind.) A desire to face danger may be in evidence as well.

Moon = the Mood We're In

A Gemini Moon shows We the People are of two minds as lively attention is paid to all forms of news and communications--we are straining to hear some good news and hopefully the populations of our cities and towns affected by this week's Hurricane Sandy will have heard good news by November 28th! Yes, Moon approaching Jupiter is a happy combination and here Jupiter rules the Sun posited in expansive, broad-minded Sagittarius. Plus, this Lunar Eclipse occurs 2 degr 7 mins from America's natal Uranus @8Gem55 which may serve to increase our excitement and our restlessness.

Indicative of turning points, crossroads, and/or crises are the two interlocked YOD patterns, one with Saturn 6Sco21 and MC at apex (focal points) and a second focused YOD (aka, the 'Finger of God' = an imperative to deal with) pointing toward the Moon (the people) and opposing the Sun (leader.)

Midpoint pictures for these YOD patterns include potentials for irritability, suppressed excitability, self-willedness, desires for separation, and a striving for independence (you'd think we Americans had that one under our belts before now! yet we're under threat once again.) Also denoted are: suffering sudden damage, great energy, ambitious aims pursued, readiness for action, and/or sudden interference in the business of others (an American specialty thanks to our tiresome imperialist plutocrats who wish to rule the world--from the White House, it seems.

Additionally, there are karmic or fated implications for planets when they appear in a chart at the same degrees: Moon-Sun-Saturn (6th degr) and Mars-Pluto-Venus (8th degr.)

A very dynamic picture of tense development is shown by midpoints aimed directly at the Sun (leader) @6Sag46 in 11th H: Pluto/MC = Mars/MC = Sun = Saturn/Pluto = Mars/Saturn indicating potentials for: power to attain success, authority, a strong will, giving orders to others, overcoming resistance or obstacles, sparing no pains in work, renunciation, privation, physical separation, toil, or an inability to meet all demands due to weak vitality.

Of course, this is a Lunar Eclipse so its midpoints also affect the Moon (the public) so we may find ourselves dealing with such issues as: feminine leadership, premature action, deep emotional reactions, lack of deliberation, imposing one's will upon women, independence of women, melancholy, depression, tragedy especially relating to women, illness, and/or a lack of courage (or charges of cowardice.) Looks like the GOP's 'war on women' with its backward-facing legislative proposals will have us stirred up even more in November, as it ought if America intends to remain a 21st century, non-Talibanesque nation!

Now with serious Saturn as chart-ruler (ASC 11Cap22), we take note of the karmic Lesson-Bringer's only applying aspect, a sextile to 12th H Pluto (1A49.) A sextile between these two karmic planets denotes that a challenge is involved--to persevere without becoming obsessive and single-minded. Defending the rights of those who are being victimized is a positive trait of a Saturn-Pluto sextile, yet both Moon and Sun (people-leader/s) may be in victimized (apex) positions here--or may describe those who use the sextile to achieve positive results!

Spotlighted are organization of info and intelligence reports, plus, 'proper management' issues. Top of the to-do list for a Saturn-Pluto sextile are: self-reliance, financial independence, and total control of all decision-making; perseverance will eventually turn around vulnerabilities, disorganized enterprises, and/or plans, and will result in the release or leaking of withheld information.

And since all eclipses are universal 'wild cards' with a Uranian nature and act as catalysts that serve us by uncovering hidden secrets and scandals, perhaps we'll be amazed by what we will soon find out.

Since a Lunar Eclipse that occurs after a Solar Eclipse tells us about our reaction to the Solar Eclipse, you may wish to follow a link to my recent post on the karmic November 13, 2012 Solar Eclipse @21Sco56 which conjoins US natal 12th cusp of Politics and Secret Deals (Sibly chart 5:10 pm LMT), and also conjoins the Midheaven of Thomas Jefferson's natal chart.

Speaking of YOD patterns and Thomas Jefferson, here's a top post on SO'W which concerns the YOD in Jefferson's natal chart, if you're curious.

November 6, 2012 and Voting Mercury's Station Rx

Now in a previous post or two I've groused astrologically about Election Day 2012's Mercury (votes, voters, ballots, polls, decisions, etc) performing a Station Retrograde (when a planet seems to stand still before turning direction and is made stronger while in Station mode.) Mercury's Station Rx occurs around 6 pm ET on November 6th and with you, dear reader, I await with baited breath to see if this Mercurial planetary condition again affects election results, both presidential and congressional--as it did in the Bush-Gore brouhaha of 2000. Especially since it Stations at '5Sag' this time which opposes President Obama's natal 3Gem21 Moon and conjoins Mitt Romney's natal South Node (SN) in Sagittarius in his n 7th house (Mitt's natal DESC = 1Sag01) and thus opposes his n NN, a Jupiterian point which has positive joining qualities.

Is Mercury's Station Rx showing American voters reviewing his record and 'turning back' to President Obama to gift him a second term as president? Does the separative Mercury-SN contact for Mr. Romney describe his ideas as old-fashioned and 'behind the times' such as rolling back Obamacare, minority rights, and women's reproductive rights? Well, Mercury-SN shows one who often has trouble gaining support for his ideas and plans (Mercury) so my hope is that the lesser of two evils--Mr. Obama, apparently--will benefit from Election Day 2012's Mercury Station Rx and that the Supreme Court doesn't get an opportunity to step in and decide the presidency on behalf of the plutocrats and neocon warmongers we so recently suffered under for eight years, a bad deal for American society which continues its negative influences to this day and beyond.

And this pertains, no matter how hard Florida's Jeb Bush tries to snow us with his glowing assessment of his disastrous brother, Dubya! Here's Jeb on Meet the Press a while back not showing the slightest sense of irony or discomfort that he even has to defend his brother!

The YOD in Thomas Jefferson's Natal Chart

Post Updated April 10, 2012--see below for new info on apex Saturn; original post begins here:

Discovering that the natal horoscope of Thomas Jefferson is replete to overflowing with intriguing facets describing an intellectual giant of The Enlightenment, his natal chart has been an off-and-on study about the place and here I shall make mention of one primary--perhaps The Primary--personality dynamic in President Jefferson's psyche as denoted by his natal planets. (Birth data below.)

This important determinate for understanding a small sliver of TJ is the pattern of a YOD, like a squished down triangle with two sides 150 degr or thereabouts, and both aiming at an apex planet or planets, and in Mr. Jefferson's case, that would be his natal Saturn (sense of authority; maturity; government) Rx in 7th house of Partnerships/Legal Relationships, and posited @ 29Leo04 (conjunct Royal Star Regulus--success if revenge is avoided--and at a critical-crisis 29th degr.)

The sextiled planets at the base of the YOD are Uranus 26Cap56 (conj US n Pluto Rx) just having risen though ASC = 00AQ29 (you note that this degree is the position of the Sun during our modern era presidential inaugurations since they've been held on January 20 (1937) rather than in early March. Is Thomas Jefferson secretively honored each US Inauguration by those who use whatever means necessary to stay in power? Was the 00AQ52 association--Office of the President = Thomas Jefferson's natal Sun? If so, this concurrence had to be synchronized by people who knew how.

Ex: Benjamin Franklin published an almanac for years and made his fortune therefrom; as a scientist and philosopher he was known to dabble in what today we term, Astrology. Now you know that astrological prowess is always passed down through generations, that's nothing new. So let us not fuss over whether Mr. Jefferson, whose aftereffects were found to include a Rosicrucian decoder in his possession (for writing and reading secret messages--they had code names, too) was in alignment or not with groups that are perhaps only now revealing their true designs. Being a loner, perhaps he wasn't a joiner, and being of an ivory tower temperament (so he could think without interruption) Jefferson would have been more of a spiritual adherent to a philosophy rather than a practical one (showing up at regular meetings, etc.) He was accustomed to coming up with his own concepts and developed his inner authority (Saturn, the father, Rx--didn't model authority well for young Tom for Dad was either weak when strength was needed, or absent on one or more levels.)

Jefferson was known for speaking publicly--in a whisper! If you could prevail upon him to do it. Natal Mercury (speaking; communication style; thinking processes; whispers, apparently) @ 26Pis36 was mystical and at-one and thrived on his gardening pursuits (Venus and NN in Taurus near natal IC 22Tau02 = Home) and intellectual wanderings--of course you know of his professions of longing for home and family whenever he was away.

So! What of TJ's YOD (special purpose; crisis; turning point; crossroads; a spiritual opportunity), what midpoint picture might fit the bill of Mercury-Saturn-Uranus (all associated with Astrology, btw)? Here are some possible manifestations for the emphasized trio in the horoscope of this deeply complex man:

Mercury-Uranus sextile (brilliant problem-solver; individual v group; rational thinker with high intuitions; can approach concerns with a fresh or different perspective; intellectually stands apart from the group; uncomfortable if ideas are too readily accepted--did his best when he rejected group assumptions; desired to awaken or convert others; society's critic; an emotional outsider; heretical views created controversy; little confidence in new situations; the spiritual debate between good and evil; a philosopher; foreign travel or self-exile brings insights that lead to wisdom. (The Sextile, Alan Epstein.)

Here's the trio's midpoint picture which I shall ask you to consider in the light of US Inaugural Sun 00AQ+ (the leader.)

Mercury-Uranus = (apex) Saturn: a desire for personal liberation; suddenly overcoming inhibitions through acting quickly; a correct grasp of a difficult situation and attainment of success and life advancement; separating oneself from others or attaining safety for oneself.

(The Combination of Stellar Influences, Reinhold Ebertin.)

I shall close with Jefferson's birth data and a few more details:

Thomas Jefferson

ASC 00AQ29 conj Uranus 26Cap56 (an ability to cope with anything--FDR has Uranus rising); MC 22Sco02 conj Pluto 15Sco49 Rx (the Eagle Point); Sun 22Ari54 conj 3rd cusp; Moon 10Sag46 in 10th H of Public Status; Career; Mercury 26Pis36 in 2nd H of Values; lusty Mars 18Leo42 in 7th H conj Pan Rx, a trickster element quite suitable for conducting back door romances (in Leo-esque France); a scientific Jupiter 4Vir45 Rx (7th H conj Saturn in Leo.)

In a few days, he'll be 269 years old! And there's much more contained in the natal horoscope of the mysterious Mr. J, but you'll want to set up his horoscope for more details, if you don't have it already. Have you seen his close conjunction between Neptune 9Can26 and Chiron 9Can37 (6th H), a spiritualized duo which curiously was eclipsed on July 1, 2011 @9Can12 by a Solar Eclipse which began a fresh new Saros Series...

April 10, 2012: The following paragraph is hereby updated concerning Jefferson's apex Saturn in a natal YOD configuration:

Thomas Jefferson's natal YOD's apex Saturn indicates a karmic challenge which emphasizes what already contains karmic implications due to the presence in the natal horoscope of the YOD pattern--a 'fated' undertone is present in the life. This means that both timing and inner maturity were necessary leading up to 1776 for Jefferson to properly use and deal with the dynamic energy of the YOD at the turning point the pattern represents and from which issued the Declaration of Independence. That Thomas Jefferson was given a cosmic purpose to work out seems obvious in hindsight and imho, he was aware of it as well considering his extensive research and study into cosmic or occult subjects, and in light of the critical, soul-trying events of his day.

Though he was happier in solitude, it was a priority (said the Universe) for him to join with others of the New Atlantis persuasion and get the job done of creating a new nation free from religious persecution. His establishment of the University of Virginia further bears out his intentions on the matter.

Apex Saturn in a YOD configuration shows one who makes continuous adjustments when it comes to his ego-security and self-preservation at the start, then experiences much anxiety and self-doubt (part of his whispered speeches? natal 12th cusp of Karma, Self-Undoing, Politics = 5Cap56, ruled by Saturn) due to a lack of support in his early environment. Plus, natal Saturn Rx = weak or absent father; Jefferson's Moon out-of-bounds--his only OOBs natally--shows his well-known faulty relationship with his Mother which was never resolved in her lifetime.

Apex Saturn leads to a painful awareness of one's personal deficiencies and to feelings of being an unwanted outcast, an emotional and psychological condition which must be conquered in adulthood in order to take correct action at YOD's turning point or crossroads, and to successfully manage the special task which the YOD decrees. Yet Saturn's natural drive to overcome obstacles along with the corrective nature of a YOD (for those who cooperate with the Universe rather than selfishly balking) made Jefferson well-suited to take whatever actions and studies necessary to reorganize himself and his attitudes which assured efficient functioning in the world.

YODs are often considered cosmic tests, and Saturn is the planet of tests and lessons, so a great sense of freedom from past burdens may be experienced when a karmic YOD involving Saturn strengthens the character and its energies are thus well-managed. This leads to a definite life direction and an acceptance of social responsibility (something many modern day politicians fail in miserably--so are they 'politicians' at all?); plus, purposeful activity, steady focus, realized ambitions, hard work, and dedication to serious goals are uplifted and, as we know, a significant, well-respected social status results which his name continues to enjoy to this day.

Thomas Jefferson's karmic YOD with apex Saturn made his Saturn Return around the age of 28 highly important to the requirements of his natal YOD's purpose. His Saturn Return occurred three times: Nov 12, 1771, Jan 7, 1772 (Rx), and July 23, 1772; apex Saturn came into play again with a special purpose of karmic proportions at his next Saturn Return of Sept 2, 1801 for he had been inaugurated US president on March 4, 1801 with Congress deciding on his behalf on Feb 9, 1801.

Chris Hedges sues President over NDAA 2012 (interview/video)

Yesterday I published something about the President signing the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 in private, before midnight, just beyond the heart of Winter's darkness, behind the scenes, out of public view or certain knowledge. A strong hint of Astrology permeated my post and for this I won't apologize since Astrology makes such an excellent lens through which to eye the squirmings and spunned illusions of the varmints who eye each one of us 24/7.

As a dissenting American in the Thomas Jefferson tradition (The Seer whose name is now publicly evoked by certain presidential candidates--as if!), I call out those who would pass laws that pretend to supersede (yet another super!) the US Constitution as the Law of the Land.

No lawyer here, but I do entertain opinions on these topics which I will share with you. No law is more important than the people who bow under it--the bow must be willing to create an effective law--even God assures us that 'the law was made for man, not man for the law'); and, a country with a myriad of entangling, contradictory, and/or idolicized laws is a land of criminals, thieves, and brigands.

Well, in spite of what some might assume, I'm not against the US government at all, I just want the misguided, misdirected Constitution busters tossed out of it. If America's progressed Sun has to be in murky Pisces for years, its two fishes symbol swims Up as well as Down, as you know. And this particular American prefers the Up direction for my country, thanks very much.

Okay, that's enough personal venting for this beautiful Sabbath Day. Didn't intend to, it just happens sometimes. I tend to be maternal in that way and want the best for everyone.

And as Benjamin Franklin said, "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism."

Visions and Provisions

If you note in the second half of this video interview with Chris Hedges, they go into details over the NDAA and its unconstitutionality which destroys the American people's protections under our Bill of Rights. As an American, how patriotic would I be if I didn't take issue with this allegedly 'legal' assault on my and my family's personal liberties--and yours? Why, provisions in the NDAA undermine to the core the ideals this nation is said to have been founded upon--an Idea of a Better Society, a Golden Atlantis v2, as they've touted it. Now shady entities want to dismantle The American Experiment in support of Bigger Plans.

As this interview brings out, the tip of the totalitarian iceberg peeks out and it's the freaky neocons again, my friends, scurrying from their lairs into the camera lights and microphones of 2012. You know what burdens their 8 out-of-control years laid upon the world and so recently, too. Are we self-destructive enough to spring and vote for more perpetual war from weapons promoters and power brokers whose activities are part of the problem and certainly are not the solution?

Now if you've read this far you must be wondering how long my blog will be available online. Well, I'm very sorry to report circa 2012 that we're thinking along the same lines. Therefore, hear Chris Hedges interviewed while ye may, and if you speak astrologese, note how descriptive are their remarks concerning the PR circus Washington actors played in the lead-up to the Dec 31, 2011 signing of NDAA 2012 by the President. The spin was in as the White House blamed Carl Levin for including the offensive provision and the secret plot thickened.

Also note that, when translated into Astrology, the secretive signing took place around the time that Mr. Obama's natal Mars 22Vir35 (motivation; action) arose at the White House with US natal Neptune (illusions, deceptions, fraud, veils, etc) tagging along...and the fog (Nep) of war (Mars) grew thicker over the heads of innocent Americans just trying to live their lives in--dare I say it?--the peace our government doesn't always afford to others.

My Further Reading suggestion was demonstrated this week by the President's about-face on the trumped up 'contraception/Vatican' brouhaha since Mr. Obama's
Mars Return 2012 is in progress (a three-fer: Jan 14, Feb 1, June 18) and transit Mars is now retrograde as the President reversed his actions on and handling of the matter.

One more thing about the interview above: I can't whole heartedly agree about (pseudo-) candidate Ron Paul. To me he plays in part the role of devil's advocate but not just for the sake of argument, as the term is normally applied. Rep. Paul is tops in expressing views that are inconvenient for the powers that be and thereby his inclusion in our public discourse diverts or obscures any serious efforts toward ever implementing--or prosecuting--any of his more popular proposals into the 'real world' unless they are molded and weakened into a very toothless form.

This tactic acts as something of a pressure release for the public, they think. And besides, what politician in Washington would cooperate on derailing his/her fancy gravy train? How ugly that their own self-interests more and more often seem to trump ours.

May 2012 Eclipse attends G-8 Summit Chicago

The G-8 Summit in Chicago (update: G-8 held at Camp David, NATO Summit in Chicago) in May occurs under the squelching rays of the May 20, 2012 Solar Eclipse @ 00Gem01, the very essence of Gemini.

Click to read the UPI article from July 15, 2011 published just after President Obama announced Chicago as the financial summit's 2012 location and click to view the May 2012 Solar eclipse horoscope, set for DC.

Of course, it's Occupy protesters, many of whom are offspring or friends of people you and I personally know, that the Chicago police department has been training for months to challenge, terrorize, abuse, and arrest--er, control--and these are the thuggish tactics that police superintendent Garry McCarthy sent his officers to study in Seattle (WTO 1999; about 35,000 American patriots protested 'free' trade issues which were and are jobs issues) and Pittsburgh (G-20 2009; 'violent clashes') since both cities' police squads have experience with draconian riot control measures.

Such drastic measures against free speech have been in preparation for some time in America, Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. Yes, it must be quite a bit easier to be 'brave' when you're encased in the latest state-of-the-art riot gear and opposing American citizens exercising the right to have our grievances addressed and expressing deep frustration with and strong criticism of predatory corporations and the dire results of their excessive greed and corruption.

Whatever goes down in at the G-8 Summit May 15--22, 2012 (or at the NATO Summit in Chicago), the Fixed Star eclipsed on May 20, 2012 by the solar eclipse--Alcyone in Gemini--has keywords of some concern: something to cry about and since Gemini is the sign of Youth, Young People, Journalists, Trade, Commerce, and Messages, may only cool heads prevail and may President Obama realize that many people will put any and all brutality perpetrated by the Chicago police force against peaceful protesters smack dab on the doorstep of the Obama White House in tandem with Mayor Emanuel's obvious culpability.

Their close relationship only spotlights the connection of culpability between Washington DC and Chicago.

Actually, the doorstep of the White House is rather piled high with overboard incidents and injuries since the Occupy/99% Movement began on September 17, 2011. And all of this is occurring on President Obama's watch. May he protect US citizens who wish to protest the inequalities in our nation rather than just speechifying about them. Odd how Washington loves to tout protecting the populations of other countries (when they want to intervene) but can so easily look the other way when it's our sons and daughters here at home who are at risk.

Abuse and Misuse of Power

So it looks as if G-8 2012 will show the whole world Power attempting to protect its elitist-authoritarian position with head-knocking and pepper-spraying considered to be a necessary part of a strong-arm agenda. Ends justify means is apparently one of The Man's mottoes in these matters but with this world view I heartily disagree, as always--no Machiavellian here.

So from underneath the elitist G-8/NATO vibes of May 15 to May 22, 2012, Democrats and their backers will be sending a message to the American people. My prayer is that it's the message that 'of-by-for-the-people' government still lives in America even if it's feeling more than a little puny these days under the heavy weight of too-fat-to-fail global corporatists.

May our protesters be safe in Chicago! And hopefully they'll continue to be wary of police operatives using violent acts (such as window smashing, etc) to justify brutal police reactions toward the innocent. For as you know, this is a dirty tactic but a traditional one for The Man to use especially when he's desperate to stay on top.

Power to the People! Even Thomas Jefferson and other founders agreed on that.

Once again today Thom quoted Thomas Jefferson concerning The Press and it's Thom's ability to recall historic events and people which for me add much value to his broadcasts.

Here I'll add a few wise words from The Seer of Monticello:

"I consider the people who constitute a society or nation as the source of all authority in that nation."

Me, too. You?

Big Brother loves America's sneaky Mercury/Pluto duo

US Mercury/Pluto, Eyes in the Sky, & Codes of Thomas Jefferson

by Jude Cowell

These days it's easy to find mentions of America's dynamic natal Mercury/Pluto opposition (July 4, 1776) wherever you go (iPhone/iPad tracking; GPS) or whatever you read (emails/online articles/feeds) so I'm passing on to you a link to Wendy McElroy's article which strikes just such a Big Brother, Mercury/Pluto tone so familiar to life in America.

Thomas Jefferson: Crypto-Rebel? covers current conditions along with a brief consideration of America's original postal service and the government's reading of colonial mail.

Well, the 'Seer of Monticello'--Thomas Jefferson--is known, among other titles, as the Father of American Cryptography thanks to his lifelong interest in codes and ciphers. In fact, a Rosicrucian decoder was found amongst his effects after his demise--there was a Rosicrucian colony around Philadelphia in those days. (Founding Fathers, Secret Societies, Robert Hieronymous with Laura Cortner.)

Also mentioned in the article are the legal changes made during the Bill Clinton administration which had the May 6, 1999 court decision that 'restriction of encryption' violated the First Amendment (because it does) reversed before 1999 ended. Obviously, this end-run around our right to privacy and the First Amendment was very important to the Clintonite globalists--for then-present and all future use.

As you know, techno-backdoors are extremely useful for any sort of spying!

Then on September 30, 1999, in a blow against the First Amendment, the Clinton Gang somehow 'convinced' the court (9th Circuit Court of Appeals) to reverse the decision thus weakening a citizen's right and ability to protect himself or herself from unlawful intrusion by the US government with its longstanding Mercury/Pluto spying tendencies.

Here are some basic expression potentials of the two planets and I'm certain you can think of more:

Mercury (communications; information; thinking processes; physical senses and nerves; reporting, writing, speaking; planning; research; trading; selling; serving, etc) Rx and in Cancer opposite our powerful Capricornian Pluto (The Underworld; Criminals; Psychology and Propaganda; secrets; dangerous information; spies, surveillance and its agencies; security activities; nuclear energy and weapons; waste disposal; manipulation, control, fear; mining industry; extreme wealth; plutocrats/oligarchs; The Pope; assassins and saboteurs; the Pentagon; karmic retribution; toxins; depth and transformation.)

America's natal Mercury is in Moon-ruled Cancer (sign of the home-lover) giving us as a people intuitive capabilities, and deep interests in family matters; Pluto is ruled by structural, status quo, restricting Saturn which shows our national obsession with struggling for recognition, power, wealth, and independence--and our fascination with dangerous adventures, detective or spy intrigues, sex, and how to avoid death (our youth culture or cult.)

Mercury/Pluto in opposition is a cosmic prescription for anxiety and denotes behind-the-scenes control of what we see, hear, read, and think (mind control, one of Dr. Pluto's favorite hobbies, along with eugenics, genetic manipulation, and cloning); bossy, nosy Big Brother really moved in on us to stay during the 1930s around the time that Pluto was discovered on February 18, 1930, and in the years leading up to the 1930s including the research and practices of Drs. Freud and Jung during their heydays.

Astrodatabank has an image with details of the horoscope for Pluto's Discovery @ 17Can45 Rx, Flagstaff, Arizona, if you're interested. Pluto's Heliocentric North Node is around 20Can nowadays but was closer to discovery degree in 1930.

Now let's close with a little spying on the conditions of Pluto's discovery on Feb 18, 1930--its Sun AQ/Moon Scorpio (co-ruled by Pluto!), a misty, ethereal. 'up in the air' (or space!) Air-Water blend of energies:

Sun AQ/Moon Sco keen insights, powerful intellect, ambition, and dogmatism describes this combo that can 'blow hot and cold' in the emotional department of life while freedom from excessive self-interest should be the higher aim; haughtiness and cold detachment may be evident--and our solar system's little 'dwarf planet' Pluto is so far away in cold space.

Along with egotism, prejudice, an 'exacting eye' (in the sky?), and ruthlessness, there are leanings toward investigation, research, and reform. The Sun AQ/Moon Sco blend is shared natally by Jules Verne, Kaiser Wilhelm II, Zsa Zsa Gabor, James Dean, Guy Fawkes, Princess Caroline of Monaco, and Henry Brook Adams who famously defined Politics for us long ago, a caricature which we see playing out every day on Capitol Hill with its political intrigue and theater performances:

"Politics, as a practice, whatever its professions, has always been the systematic organisation of hatreds."

Now you can call Mr. Adams, descendant of that Adams family, an anti-Semite all you wish since many have before you, but he did manage to squoosh the essence of the basic character and motivation of Politics into one neat sentence.

If only every political thespian now infesting Washington DC and working hard to undermine our national systems, structures, traditions, and Constitution could be as brief, succinct, and truthful concerning the true nature of Politics as Henry B.

~;~

1999 was the year of the Great Conjunction of Pluto and Chiron, the plutocracy duo of Corporatism, oppression, disenfranchisement, and primal violence; their conjunction harkened us onward toward the New Millennium, but also denoted such things as the media-dubbed Battle in Seattle against the WTO, that hot bed of globalist corporate bigwigs and their willing, paid-off shills, pawns, and militarized police agents--and the instigator of many of the world's unemployment shortages in 2011 into 2012.

Enlightenment! and a Curious Transit to Thomas Paine's Natal Chart

Thomas Paine = Illuminati, Uranus in Aries = Radical Utopians: America's Destiny?

by Jude Cowell

Since I wrote a piece in 2006 on the Sun to Chiron-Chiron to Sun double transit to the natal horoscope of Thomas Paine, I have read more references to Paine as a Freemason (already known) and as one of the Illuminati of his day.

And if you've read this blog before, you know I'm not fond of those who descend either biologically or ideologically from Weishaupt's Illuminati sect nor am I fond of their global domination plans which seem in 2011 to be well underway for major implementation, perhaps within the much-touted and often feared Year 2012. Yet even they are subject to the natural law of karma and must reap what they sow, much as they prefer to think otherwise.

After all, in 2012 a major market crash is predicted by astrologers and economists alike which is the 'crisis of opportunity' ploy of operatives such as Henry Kissinger and others you and I could name. For Financial Astrology of the markets, I recommend the work of mundane astrologer Theodore White at Global Astrology. Crash-forecasting economists are all over the place so you'll have no problem locating all you want.

Paine, Jefferson, Franklin, and Their Secretive Pal, Adam Weishaupt

Well, perhaps it's impossible to be certain whether Paine and his 18th century Illuminati colleagues such as Thomas Jefferson (a Freemason and Illuminatist--Ben Franklin was a Mason and Rosicrucian, plus, a Rosicrucian decoder was found at Monticello in Jefferson's effects after his death) were duped by Weishaupt's Utopian ruse of an eventual America where we'd all skip around the Sweet Williams while ripe fruit fell from the vines and "reason" would 'perfect' us, making laws unnecessary)--or, whether they were complicit in wanting to establish a totalitarian (Orwellian) regime of complete surveillance and servitude as America's eventual destiny.

Yes, I do have a difficult time meshing the legends of our Founding Fathers based on what what they did and believed in the 1770s and beyond with Weishaupt's devilish Utopian ideals for complete control of mankind. Many of America's founders were Deists yet the principles of the Age of Reason (or, Age of Enlightenment) show a strain of naivety embedded in the same old argument set up by Lucifer--that mankind doesn't need heavenly precepts but can 'do it by himself'.

Speaking as a Christian, their 'Reason Is All' illusion is bosh to me!

Of course, astrologically speaking, man's reasoning ability is a function of Mercury with one of the Enlightenment's favorite planets, Uranus (The Awakener; The Witness), acting as Mercury's higher octave of creative inspiration--the visionary idea of genius that arrives suddenly like a bolt from the blue. I suspect ace deceiver Adam Weishaupt had a lot of such moments, at least in his own estimation.

One clue concerning the awareness of our Founding Fathers of America's ultimate Illuminati-esque destiny has to be the mysterious case of the Cloaked Man in Jefferson's Garden--the one who allegedly rode up out of the darkness with the design for America's Great Seal at-the-ready as Jefferson took a break from consideration of the design along with his colleagues. Perhaps it happened that way, perhaps not. And perhaps Thomas Paine, newly returned from France, WAS that man, as some believe, and I can't deny that the theory of the mystery man's identity as Paine is plausible (and he may also have been co-author of the Declaration of Independence with Jefferson)--if so, he was acting as an agent of Adam Weishaupt when he delivered the seal.

Check out the reverse of the Great Seal, if you haven't, or look at a dollar bill if you have one. The pyramid with the all-seeing eye as capstone is certainly of a Masonic persuasion and the all-seeing eye of surveillance may be said to point forward toward intrusive spy satellites circling the Earth as I type (and agencies monitoring our blogs, websites, emails, and bank accounts!)

And the "1776" on the seal and on paper currency may not actually refer to America's founding year but to the founding by Weishaupt of the Bavarian Illuminati Society on May 1, 1776. Cussedly, we pay homage to the Illuminati by celebrating 'May Day.'

So did Paine, Jefferson, Franklin, and others look forward to the collapsing of America as a sovereign nation--the one they risked their lives, families, and fortunes to create? Is a weird, chaotic, and savage 'Utopia' just around the corner?

What do you think?

Well, in The Combination of Stellar Influences, Reinhold Ebertin gives Uranus in Aries, its present position, as "Utopians" so we know that since 2010 such political radicals are 'in the house'--in the 4th house of America's natal chart, Sibly version (IC 00Ari53, conjunct the Aries Point of World Manifestation (00Ari00); IC = Endings; The Drain; the HOW? Point of any chart...instruments of our nation's demise?)

Uranus to IC may also relate to the House of Congress and the anarchistic, gridlocking Tea Party members (see a list of their names in this blog's sidebar) who campaigned on returning America to her former glory--a sentiment along the lines of Weishaupt's Utopian Dream of mankind's return to the Garden of Eden. But it seems to me that if that were possible, mankind would need God's cooperation to effect such a major change! And Weishaupt was anti-religion and anti-God--sorry, but man's 'reason' just can't do it.

And neither can 'religioso' candidates Michele Bachmann or Rick Perry.

Oops!

Plus, the Bush-Cheney regime bombed the Holy Land where the Garden was located to smithereens, an indefensible action if one wants to cavort in the original Eden once again, and an imperial agenda which President Obama has followed since January 2009. Of course, as noted on this blog in 2008, Mr. Obama cannot discontinue the agenda of the plutonian one-world-government types because they and their bankers installed him in the White House and can take him out at their discretion if he doesn't play the Big Game to suit them. 'They' turn up these days in horoscopes as manipulative saboteur Pluto, apex planet in dynamic patterns such as T-Squares and the Cardinal Grand Cross.

Well, soon transiting Uranus will return to Aries Point and conjoin the US IC again with much upheaval, but since I'm blogging away from home this week, I don't have my Astrology software or an ephemeris to remind me of the date. Perhaps you'll wish to check it out for the US may experience an event on or near that date which relates to the disturbing topics mentioned in this post.

Now one never knows what quirky, disruptive Uranus will catalyze into action, early, on time, or belatedly. But one thing we can depend on--that the radical Thomas Paine will not be awakening from his Eternal Rest for his work here on Earth, whatever it may have been and for whatever reason, is most definitely done.

For Sun/Chiron info ('destiny unfolding'), please click on the link to Thomas Paine's double transit of 2006; for Cardinal Grand Cross/Crisis info, click on the Global Astrology link above.

As you know, the scientific Age of Enlightenment was marked by a Great Conjunction of futurist Uranus and dreamy Neptune at mid-Sagittarius, sign of The Seeker on a Quest. Their last Great Conjunction/s--three times through 1993--marks the furthering of the New World Order which makes Uranus and Neptune the significators of the one-world-government vision of the Illuminati.

Ebertin gives their combination of energies as "inner illumination and enlightenment, inspiration, idealism, an interest in spiritual subjects, religious problems, mysticism, the growth of subconscious powers or forces." 1993's three conjunctions occurred at or very near '18 Capricorn' = "POLITICAL POWER"...negative (unconscious/shadow side) expression: "smug or strong-armed paternalism"--a 2011 example would be the Occupy Wall Street protests as NYC police strong-arm peaceful demonstrators--our fellow Americans demanding that Wall Street fraudsters pay for their crimes.

Wonder whose side America's founders would be on if they only knew?

'10,000 Famous Freemasons' has many names you'll recognize

Sometimes here on Stars Over Washington I add links to very interesting tidbits in this blog's sidebar without shouting out their addition in a post.

However, the 10th anniversary of the attacks of 9/11/01 has inspired me to post a link to a site which has a digital copy of a 1957 book by William R. Denslow entitled 10,000 Famous Freemasons and telling you about it.

So even if you don't care to peruse the alphabetized list for names of famous politicians, presidents, Supreme Court Justices, Kings, Queens, and other notables, you may wish to check out the book's Foreward written by none other than one of our many Freemason presidents, Harry S. Truman.

Plus, if you dare to click you'll be greeted with an image displaying several signatures (autographs!) of folks such as Benjamin Franklin,
John Hancock, and others whose names you'll recognize--some may surprise you!

But this is dusty old stuff, eh?

As with a District of Columbia studded with tomb-like buildings constructed on principles of Sacred Geometry (thanks to our Great Mathematician!)--the Capitol Building in Washington comes first to mind--this list of 10,000 names is a good resource for those investigating History yet who wish to unearth deeper informational layers rather than accepting the veneer that most historians tend to toss over their narratives. The more superficial tossing makes true understanding of past events, both consequences and causes, difficult if not impossible to determine though many researchers continually try.

Yes, names of past Masons are fairly easy to discover, even for the merely curious. But a list of our modern day crop of them now serving in Washington DC tends to be shrouded in secrecy from the average sleuth, and reporters seldom mention such hidden, overarching affiliations (which a percentage of journalists take oaths to as well.)

Well, given the destructive wind that a hijacked America has been heading into (probably timed by the take-over of the US government by The Federal Reserve Bank, circa 1913), I'd hide my name, too, if I were a member of a secret society that was itself hijacked centuries ago by an Illuminati determined to gain total world control, with America acting as its military branch.

So are you able-bodied and unemployed for long? Guess you're tempted to join the US military, a very successful Employment Program the US government promotes in films, tv shows, in games, schools, and more--wherever the propaganda boot fits, our young people are expected to wear it.

Check out Source Code for a not-so-subtle hint: serve your country even after death! This film (which I did like, btw) manages to tout military service and the fear of terrorism occurring on US soil simultaneously.

Bravo!...I guess...

Concerning One of Those 10,000 Freemasons

So whose bio was I researching when I came upon the book? That of Thaddeus Kosciuszko, hero of the American Revolution, Freemason (he's on the list of 10,000), and bosom buddy of Thomas Jefferson, Freemason and Illuminati agent.

You remember that it was master engineer Kosciuszko who bolstered our forts during the American Revolution and it was his plans that were sold to the British by Benedict Arnold.

On the topic of America's reputed 'turning' from a higher course to a lower one of perpetual war, I sometimes I wonder: did the attacks of 9/11 mark a symbolic switch of America's Great Seal from obverse to the reverse side with its (Illuminati) Eye of Surveillance on top the 13-step pyramid or power?

Related posts include Signposts on the NWO Highway and here's a post detailing the collapse of Lehman Brothers--in 1984--and the list of which organizations sit on each rung of the 13-Step Pyramid of Power.

'13' is a big number in occultism, as you know. Our original 13 colonies, 13 steps of power, the 13th Amendment, Ophiuchus the 13th constellation, etc. And yes, I now sit typing from within the 13th Colony of Georgia. And you know that the number '13' is said to be a signature of the Illuminati and Freemasonry, right?

Meanwhile there may be a ray of illumination to be found in the Sabian Symbol for the '14 Sagittarius' degree because of its word picture:

"The Great Pyramid and the Sphinx" (Dane Rudhyar.)

"Keynote: The enduring power of occult knowledge and of its quasi-divine Custodians, "Seed-men" of a previous cycle of existence.

The belief in an Original Tradition based on the perfect knowledge of the archetypal principles and forms which underlie all manifestations of life on earth (and by extension in the cosmos) is deeply rooted in man's consciousness. The Great Pyramid and the Sphinx are witnesses to such a Tradition, especially for the Western world. The symbol implies that such an archetypal knowledge remains the foundation upon which men's minds can still build solid and valid formulations, as new evolutionary developments are pending."

Essentially, this "points to the greatness of a Soul's past achievements and the value of trying to reevoke this past. What is revealed in THE POWER OF SPIRITUAL ANCESTRY." (all DR, his emphases, from An Astrological Mandala.)

Ancestry? Ancestor and hero worship?

Well, with 'The Sphinx' we know as Thomas Jefferson intimately involved in the founding of this nation and his cosmic studies well known (if not his secret society connections), the centuries-long campaign which the US government has maintained to make certain that Mr. Jefferson remains for posterity a "quasi-divine" "Seed-man" (and a secretive holder of occult--hidden--knowledge such as the Bruton Vault info which he apparently suppressed), it may be easier to understand the degree's Egyptian flavor in light of the Sabian Symbol's babylonish implications.

Plus, the architecture of the Jefferson Memorial has that certain dusty musty Masonic look about it, don't you agree?

Blog Notes: you may wish to check this blog's sidebar for other links to Freemason and presidential info (such as both Roosevelts), the Illuminati, Thomas Jefferson, etc., or type a few words into the Search Bar provided by Google. Of course, then Google will make googley eyes at you from atop the pyramid of their power...

And Blogger for the second day in a row is 'disappearing' parts of my post as I type/save so hopefully all of this effort will publiah with its links and text intact. jc

Update 9.12.11 7:46 pm edt: did you know that George Washington's Inaugural throne (April 30, 1789 Federal Hall on Wall Street, NYC) was decorated with a Rising Sun symbol? Or should I say 'is' decorated? Wonder who sits upon the booger now for its seems the Sun is setting.

Reminds me of the Sabian Symbol for '16 Aries'..."Brownies Dancing in the Setting Sun"...which isn't as bad as it first sounds if we-the-people believe there's a better way than that of the Jackassians of Washington DC:

INVIGORATION...

positive expression: simple good fortune together with unlimited opportunity as the direct fruitage of effort;

negative/unconscious/shadow side: delusions of adequacy with a complete inability to act in real self-interest.

Thomas Jefferson and the karmic Solar Eclipse July 1, 2011

If you've had a chance to read my column on the karmic Solar Eclipse of July 1, 2011 @ 9Can12, then I don't have to tell you that the eclipse manifests snugly between America's natal Sun and Jupiter - actually precisely upon our national Sun/Jupiter midpoint.

The importance of the July 1st Solar Eclipse 'hit' to or triggering of the expansive point of Sun/Jupiter relates closely to financial and spending matters, material loss, and to issues of striving for more power and control, recognition, and/or to conflicts caused by arrogance, pretentiousness, or lawlessness.

Perhaps a crook or two will be outed by the light of the July 1, 2011 eclipse, the first to launch in a new Saros Series. Often an eclipse 'acts' early and you probably heard that a fugitive mob boss from Boston was arrested just today in California after 16 years of giving the FBI the slip.

Historical Horoscopes Alive!

There is another triggering of historical importance because the July 1st eclipse conjoins *Thomas Jefferson's natal Neptune/Chiron conjunction @ 9Can26 and 9Can37 respectively, in 6th house of Military and Police Service, Health, Daily Lives, and Work (Employment.)

Now the eclipse (Sun/Moon) forms a midpoint picture with Mr. Jefferson's nebulous, spiritually oriented Neptune (made more **sacred by Chiron's ministrations):

Sun/Moon = Neptune: illusions and deceptions; becoming easily upset; inner discontent; realizing the importance of thinking through plans and ideas; dreaming of options for redirecting plans; delusions about what can be done and how hard people will work to accomplish it; misunderstandings in relationship.

Solar Eclipses are of course oppositions of the Sun (consciousness) and Moon (unconscious) and in general denote relationship and/or awareness issues.

To the extent that our third president Thomas Jefferson may be taken as an archetypal symbol of America and the US government, I surmise that the midpoint picture formed synchronistically by the July 1, 2011 Solar Eclipse is instructive concerning the pertinent issues of our day.

And perhaps the Sun/Moon midpoint itself should be considered more specifically in the realms of Politics and Business. From Michael Munkasey's book Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets, we find potentials that are up-to-the-minute on several levels including to raise or not to raise the US debt ceiling and war making decisions of President Obama:

Thesis: the international reputation of the country; how the will of the people is is applied (or not! jc) to taking the country into new or important directions; reading the attitude of the people when creating internal policy.

Antithesis: a loss of face in international politics (leaving Afghanistan? debt ceiling/default? jc); smears on the national reputation; pessimism flowing through the population or lawmakers (or both. jc)

You remember that the recent transiting Neptune/Chiron conjunction has mirrored disasters involving water such as regional flooding and levee breaches, BP's Deepwater Horizon Blow-Out of April 2010 which effectively sabotaged our Gulf Coast and its people, and which may have been an inspirational factor in this May 2011's World Will End prophecy with Chiron now in mystical, spiritual Pisces. And of course, 'water' is a stand-in for The Spirit in the Aquarian archetype of The Water Bearer, the sign in which the exact conjunction/s of Neptune and Chiron occurred last year.

Now what of such a close Neptune/Chiron conjunction in Watery Cancer in Jefferson's natal chart and psyche? Since it is about to be 'eclipsed' and highlighted on July 1, 2011, let's first take it apart including its apparent placement in Jefferson's 6th house (see below for his *birth data and the time I am using to set up his natal chart.)

Watery Neptune in Watery Cancer indicates a generation of folk with strong psychic ties to home, family, security, and the Earth (ecological interests.) Jefferson's love of home and family is well-known as are his regular rides across his lands with his daughter after his wife died and before, so naturally, his love of Monticello comes easily to mind.

Neptune in Moon-ruled Cancer denotes an emotionally sensitive and religious nature yet there is a still-ongoing debate as to Mr. Jefferson's religiosity (the Jefferson Bible; was he a Deist? an astrologer? etc) but these deep issues are beyond the scope of this column. However, his philosophical interests and talents are never in question.

Notable is the resonance between Neptune as the higher octave of Jupiter (the priest, guru, hierophant, philosopher) through their rulership of mystical Pisces, sign of Jefferson's natal Mercury. Thinking upon such inspired topics came easily to his highly idealistic nature; plus, Neptune in Cancer can also give mediumship or channeling abilities either from a higher or a lower plane.

His natal Neptune/Pluto trine indicates a response to the more positive side of the invisible realms but in modern times, we're stuck with a Neptune-Pluto septile (51 degrees 26 minutes), which is a fated, karmic 7th harmonic aspect.

Assuming that Neptune is posited in his natal 6th house, the placement emphasizes one whose work and service are done in a spiritual manner and/or for collective purposes. Yet with Neptune in detriment in 6th H, these issues will bring difficulties yet they had to be addressed for the sake of Jefferson's evolutionary progress (and America's, as it turned out.)

Many sacrifices are demanded by Neptune in 6th H, and we think of his desire to be home with his family instead of in Philadelphia attending and plying his penmanship of the Declaration of Independence at the Continental Congresses of 1775 and 1776. (The First Continental Congress was held in 1774 but Mr. Jefferson did not attend until 1775.)

Yet Jefferson's Sun in Aries Was Ambitious to Get On in the World

The red-haired young man arrived (unwigged yet Whiggish) in Philadelphia on June 20, 1775 with Neptune in Virgo (spiritual, devoted, and/or inspired work) snugged between Mars 18Vir55 and Saturn 2Lib18...hardworking Mars/Saturn = inspired Neptune: self-torment about identity (his fame and repute were yet to be established and his wordsmith genius known except by a few - he was a whippersnapper!); confusion; feeling threatened; pretenses or cover-ups about the state of preparedness.

But the whippersnapper did all right by us, didn't he? Perhaps that's because the difficult placement and conjunction of Neptune/Chiron were greatly eased by a natal trine to Pluto at Eagle Point, near Midheaven (Career, Aspirations, Public Status.) Plus, without difficult natal placements, one seldom bothers to stir oneself to make a sustained effort, does one?

Chiron in Cancer describes a "crisis over cultural roots and/or a crisis of personal protection" (Clow.) Cultural roots of the American experiment and personal protection reminds me of how America's Founders would have been strung up if their secret deliberations on independence from Britain had become known abroad.

In Cancer, Chiron tends to be tied to the past (a conflict for such a visionary futurist as Mr. Jefferson: home life v career ambitions), and reveals insecurity issues which are underscored by TJ's natal Moon out-of-bounds in Sagittarius which, when Moon is the only OOBs planet, points to one whose childhood connection with the mother was faulty or non-existent; a wounding (Chiron) from the mother (Cancer) is indicated as well, and TJ grew to have contempt for his mother and showed little, if any, regret at her passing. Jefferson had chaffed under her parentage after his father's death.

With Chiron in Cancer, a tough battle ensues to break Saturnian control (of his personal father/controlling mother and of colony-oppressing Great Britain!) and thus utilize the brilliance of Uranian genius, a task which he certainly managed to do. For his natal Uranus in Capricorn had a willing container in which to pour by way of Saturn's rulership of Capricorn, sign of Government. The inconjunct between natal Saturn and Uranus, though indicating crises and turning points, was better to have than no contact at all since the inconjunct (aka, quincunx) gave the creative ideas of Uranus a form (Saturn) in which to become practically realized on the earthly plane.

However, extreme consciousness of aims and objectives were necessary for the success of his Saturn/Uranus endeavors and he was nothing if not self-reflective while answering the call of service to the collective.

Another interesting factor to note in the 1743 horoscope of Thomas Jefferson is that the position of **Fixed Star SIRIUS, so intricately linked to America's natal horoscope and founding, closely conjoins his natal Neptune/Chiron conjunction by degree and thereby increases the conjunction's sacred nature.

In Astrology, the key phrases for SIRIUS (Alpha Canis Major; aka, the Dog Star, the Shining One, or, the Scorcher and relates to the annual flooding of the Nile River, and to gaining much more than was expected - Brady's Book of Fixed Stars) are: the mundane becoming sacred and the fire of immortality.

Few would disagree that Jefferson's work devoted to the founding of this country by penning the Declaration of Independence and through his service as Secretary of State, Ambassador to France, Vice President, then President (1801 - 1809), has garnered him an immortal name as well as high recognition in his day. Of course, founding the excellent University of Virginia in 1819 has increased his renown as well.

So! Will the July 1, 2011 Solar Eclipse @ 9Can12 relate to Mr. Jefferson, his era and its politics, or to the very founding of our nation? Independence Day 2011 soon follows, after all. Will UVA be in the news? Or will another dance-off protest occur at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC with strong-arming police arresting peaceful American citizens? (I suspect the freedom-loving Mr. Jefferson would be very ill-pleased and disapproving of such arrests, don't you?)

These and other related concerns may turn up soon on the US menu and in The Press whose freedom he eloquently championed and my hope is that if they do, you will give a small, perhaps fond, thought to the Sage of Monticello!

6.15.11 Lunar Eclipse reflects threats to Luna, New Mexico

Evening of June 13, 2011: NPR News has a report on fires natural (and perhaps otherwise?) which began on the Colorado-New Mexico border in May 2011, and now are under unstable control when at all in June 2011. Feeds of NPR's related stories are included.

Earlier today I posted a certain point of view using Mundane Astrology concerning the Wednesday June 15, 2011 Lunar Eclipse which by namesake resonates with the frequency of the town with the Moon-esque vibe: Luna, NM (there are two, one in Cadron Co., the other in Lincoln Co.) Paradoxically, its moniker was consciously given (perhaps by committee?) which for me conjures images of a Full Moon that can lift arm hairs when the topic of Lunar Eclipses comes up due to their often-documented and 'magical' ability to uncover things hidden or unconscious (see my previous post on Wednesday's eclipse, if you wish) and, in catastrophic cases out West, to also bring troubles apace to our homes and homeland (home = Cancer, the sign ruled by the astrological Moon.)

My thought is that the human race retains its collective memories and an eclipse of the Moon is by design a perfect cosmic vehicle and a trigger or timer for taking that unknown, unconscious, and possibly dangerous path where only the silver rays from a Moon Lantern lights us upon our journey. (Image of Tarot card #18, The Moon.)

>Thunder rumbles as I type and power surges have been off-on for a while now so I must mosey quickly, get my pc off the electricity. Meant to provide you with a link to include an article about Hamburg Iowa reported today to be under flood threat due to oncoming tides from a levee breach. (Storm's over, Tuesday edit: Hamburg Iowa under flood threat.)

Please pray for Luna, the surrounding environs, and Iowa - actually, toss in all of America and the planet if you care to, for watery yet smokey Neptune is active in the world and dissolving moorings of all kinds. (See today's earlier post about this Wednesday's Lunar Eclipse @ 24Sag23.) Even the old "fog of war" from the Vietnam War era is in the news this week with release of unredacted Pentagon Papers! (Lunar Eclipse revelations - see previous post as advised - if you wish, of course!)

If the Vietnam War era were a mere moment in time it might be titled, Flower in Gun Barrel Moment of illusion and the sort of pretending that gets a large number of people killed. The cosmic identity of such a moment is similar to the wrongheaded Splitting of the Atom Moment and, on another level, resembles the truism that a Genie can never fit back into her bottle once released. (Genie = Uranus, bottle = Saturn, of course.

When the atom was split, a perfect form or model was broken by curious human beings who had no clue how to repair the effects of their misguided arrogance while the bossy ones who ordered the project done and possibly helped bankroll it to some smattering degree held no qualms about the unleashing of this abominable power. The power was, after all, to be directed wherever the lucky gened powers-that-be were not.)

Luna, New Mexico; Mystic Rectangle June 2011

So for focusing our positive thoughts and prayers on behalf of those of us facing trials much larger than we must ordinarily withstand, good news is that there's a perfect Mystic Rectangle pattern formed around us tomorrow by 9:32 am edt (between Saturn (Air) and Uranus (Fire) with Moon in fiery Sag and Venus in airy Gemini, Hour of Venus) when high waters may inundate parts of the region even as huge fires challenge fighters across wide swaths of burned property. (Some duplicity may be afoot with Neptune whose archetype now showers us with too grand a performance before re-entering colder Aquarius from oceanic Pisces. Yes, it's that mix of wounding yet shamanic Chiron and Neptune again.

(If only flood water could be piped over to fight wild fires, creating balance between the two elements that together tend to be steamy hot and whose catalytic action may well lead to much soul-searching after searing experiences.)

My hope for protection and safety is being sent cross-country to the good people of the Western US and for the firefighters who risk their all. I do believe that angels of mercy stand ready at your command.

On The Big Picture right now (on LINK TV for me) with Thom Hartmann, General Petraeus is apparently the latest Lunar Eclipse victim...peep-eye!

Seems Gen. Petraeus' reporting on Aghanistan has left much truth to be desired from within the neocon-Zionist-warhawk' stance of 'politics of the national security state' which now strangles our nation and commandeers the top rung of priorities (financial, political nd ideological) for corrupted Washington and the soulless, 5-pointed death star, the Pentagon.

Meanwhile the security state's hierarchy of knaves and thugs can never get enough citizens to send into hellish war ('war is peace')...the 'right' Casio watches notwithstanding. It's up to we-the-people to reign the brigands in, for as we know, "When governments fear the people, there is liberty; when the people fear the government, there is tyranny." Or words to that effect.

For more on such political topics you may wish, as tonight's Moon rushes to meet the Sun by Wednesday's Lunar Eclipse, to uncover and reveal The Digital Papers of Thomas Jefferson.

Blog Note: to generally answer an emailed Q about the current FaceBook 'facial recognition' controversy, it's my opinion that the top dogs at FB seems to consist of a bunch of sneaks. Yes, I left FB earlier this year and heard today that the number of FB deserters in the US is growing which is perfectly understandable, really. jc

Dancing w Thomas Jefferson June 4, 2011 (video)

No Dancing Allowed, Says Saturn!

by Jude Cowell

Since the early days of America's existence, the powers that be have built up founder and Declaration of Independence author Thomas Jefferson to be our Icon of Freedom. Indeed, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial on the lunar Tidal Basin in Washington DC contains an imposing statue of our American Sphinx, a Francophile who must have turned a musical toe or two while enjoying the Parisian society of his day.

Video below: On Saturday, June 4, 2011, another 'dance-off' occurred only 3 days after a Solar Eclipse manifested @ 11Gem02 atop the Jefferson Memorial's dedication ceremony Saturn 9Gem21. The Memorial's dedication was held in 1943 during the transit of America's natal Uranus 8Gem55 (planet of freedom, independence, rebellion, revolution, and disruptive protests) by authoritarian and lawmaker Saturn.

President Franklin Roosevelt presided over the Memorial dedication on April 13, 1943, the 200th anniversary of Mr. Jefferson's birth (April 13, 1743 NS; Shadwell, Virginia; birth time usually listed as 1:53 pm LMT but is conflicted/unverified.)

May and June 2011

With rebellious Awakener Uranus (America's planetary totem) now @ '4Aries', it is interesting to note that the noon horoscope of the dedication ceremony of April 13, 1943 for the Thomas Jefferson Memorial now has transiting Uranus crossing the Midheaven of the chart (The Goal; Aspirations) and bringing disruptive dancing By, Of, and For The People with it while we remember and honor the principles of freedom and independence which Jefferson embedded and ingrained within our national documents!

The 1943 Saturn to US natal Uranus transit sounds suspiciously similar to current events such as being arrested (restrictive Saturn) for dancing in a public memorial space (free-wheeling Uranus.) Ramping up the political stakes, the US is now in the midst of a (30-year cycle) Saturn Return with the third of three conjunctions occurring on August 28, 2011.

Yes, a Saturn-to-Uranus transit occurred under Nixon's watch in the 1970s along with a reciprocal transit: Uranus to US natal Saturn (14Lib48.) Obviously, dynamics of the Saturn-Uranus dichotomy (status quo v progress; old structures fall so the new can be established; stagnation v reform) were heavily highlighted during the Nixonian era. As you know, Nixon removed the US from the gold standard which, among other things, made full payment of the citizenry's debts difficult if not impossible.

Here are brief descriptions of the reciprocal Saturn-Uranus transits of the early 1970s; Saturn and Uranus were precisely opposing one another on Election Day 2008 which marks the Obama administration with their brittle vibrations:

Saturn to n Uranus: circumstances restrict personal freedom and independence and attempts to take new approaches are stymied or delayed; unorthodox methods are nixed by authority; frustration results from a lack of planning; endless red tape creates delays but don't give up since thoughtful and careful organization can still win the day. (Or, Win the Future, as you prefer.)

Uranus to n Saturn: circumstances challenge or bring change to areas governed by tradition, rules, regulations, and laws as re-evaluation and review become necessary. These areas may be considerably altered while retaining the basic structures of society.

Fast forward to 2011, and it's tradition and stability on the chopping block as Pluto now deconstructs Capricornian systems and forms and topples world leaders and economies, and our national Saturn Return highlights the debt ceiling impasse now challenging America's ability to pay her debts if the nation's credit limit is not raised by August 2, 2011, as Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner insists it must be...or we'll be in for a world o'hurt which may crash the remnants of a shaky global economy.

Yet total global financial collapse of the old is just what the New World Order ordered so their carefully planned agenda seems to be running on schedule.

Meanwhile, all this makes me want to dance the night away with Thomas Jefferson who warned us against many policies (standing army, foreign wars, a debilitated press, etc) now used and bedeviled by the Utopian Usurpers among us whose best ideas include criminal activities such as the resource plundering and population control allowed by endless war and brash anti-sovereignty invasions.

Police smash cell phones w our Rights in Miami FL 6.4.11

Now taking a brief break from creating something new today in honor of World Drawing Day 2011 and found a news item that leaves me speechless concerning this fast-forming police state we once called America.

Sounds like their HoSec/Blackwater/Special Forces type of training is paying off for the power elite whose army they be. Or at least a point is being made as with the Jefferson Memorial dance-offs and the resulting over-reactive draconian arrests while the statue of Thomas Jefferson looked on.

So you think you can dance in America? How dare you! Not on the military industrial complex's watch, you can't.

Because as you know, global thugs and plutocrats of the oppressive, primally violent Pluto-Chiron persuasion ain't playin'. Why should they when the midpoint picture energies within the ongoing Saturn/Uranus = Pluto T-Square are still very much in force?

The transiting Pluto/Chiron midpoint has reached US natal South Node (SN) @ '6AQ" this year. And that is the position of Neptune (spirituality; mysticism; Divine Source; veils; potential for deception) when the Prophet Muhammad created the world religion of Islam (symbolized by Neptune, planet of oil), and where in the Zodiac nebulous Neptune languished over the world's head on the morning of September 11, 2001. The separative SN is a point showing past behaviors of a neurotic kind.

As a process describing part of a select few's long-term agenda (for they too know the power of Astrology for timing purposes), society now has manipulating, destructuring Pluto in Capricorn (ruled by restrictive Saturn and representing government, law, and business) grasping every controlling puppet string of we-the-trussed as Mr. Underworld lumbers along and eventually reaches his position of July 4, 1776 @ 27Cap33...'28Cap' = "A Large Aviary," a degree given in DeVore's Encyclopedia as: the Exaltation of Mars.

Zealous Mars/Pluto = the Pentagon, the military industrial complex, powerful weapons and those who use or sell them, an overbearing military force, and the strong-arm policing that is on the rise in America.

Arrests at Jefferson Memorial May 27, 2011 (video)

Looks like Memorial Day Weekend 2011 got off to a rousing start at the Jefferson Memorial, doesn't it? Dance Party at the Tidal Basin?

Meanwhile, the old 'Jefferson rolling over in his grave' adage comes easily to mind especially with his statue towering over the action. And what was that American Uranian word we like to tout at the drop of a baton?

Oh yeah...freedom! Well, Uranus may also inspire radical political movements, protests, and demonstrations, and most anything of a sudden, surprising, or disruptive nature.

Yet to me it seems that someone in charge overreacted. Or was it purposefully overdone to show that the police state ain't playin'?

This one will be filed under For Further Consideration...
